Review Epicurus - Bengaluru

A very nice upscale restaurant which has just opened. Service was fast and staff was courteous. The ambiance is nice. The menu is huge. As it was odd first visit cannot comment on entire restaurant menu. But here are comment on what I ordered. Soup Tom Yum was good, but not Authentic. Appetizer - Firery Chicken was well done and spicy as it should be. Menu states it's served with Salsa, bit was served with Tomato Ketchup.

Ambience is quite nice and outside seating is also quite good with a big screen to watch matches, it's family friendly. The servers were quick despite being houseful and were attentive and the bill also was quite reasonable.

Loved the food and ambience. Amazing place for lunch or dinner with family or friends alike

The guy called Avinash here is truly a thug. He doesn't know how to behave with the customer. Used abusive words. Not a place for anyone to visit. As a localite I tell you this place is for thugs not for family. This guy was drunk and started abusing the customers.

A lot of latency in serving food. We were 15 of us had to wait 50 min to receive the order. 1 star for service.. There was approx 10 min wait between each order arrival .<br/>

Went on a Sunday night for some beer hop, but unfortunately they do not have pitcher wherein we’d checked Zomato prior visit and was kinda set back. However, we’d ordered some Kebabs and Monks to keep out Sunday happening. And the service pretty well organised. The kebab was served hot and crisp and chicken was tender inside. And the Schezwan fried rice was little too much spicy however not complaining. All in all good experience hopefully will try to visit again.

Horrible resturant and service. They will give stale food and still charge for it. It is a big NO for any body Food as well as Price. I have visited and had a bitter experience, I could not eat as food was stinking but forced to pay for it. Service is lousy

I went there as I got hungry late night and this is one of the very few places that is open in the area.<br/>To be honest, it was full of drunk guys, enjoying the outdoor ambience. The outdoor setting is good n breezy, however I headed in. The indoor setup is pretty basic.<br/>Ordered quick main course and it a turned out fine, maybe cz I was ravenous? Anyway, food was good, except the raitha which was pretty sour, either old or made from sour curd.<br/>Service was good but the over enthu server was standing literally at the top of our heads the whole time, gets a little discomforting. Not blaming him he just wanted to help?<br/>You sure should go here instead of empire, especially if you want to avoid the crowd n eat quickly n if you are a vegetarian.

Went here on Friday late night at 11. 30 pm<br/><br/>Food: 3.5/5 - the food served was tasty except for raita which was a bit sour. The menu here is quite vast.<br/><br/>Ambiance: 4/5 - Quite big place. They hv outside as well as inside seating. Outside seating is really lovely.<br/><br/>Service: 4.5/5 - very quick service considering it was 11.30 in the night.<br/><br/>Verdict: 4/5 - good for late night hunger pangs.

This place has no professionalism. Food was tasteless. Chicken was just boiled and served. And very costly compared to the quantity. I would advise to not go here.

I am being as polite as possible .But what to do I want to express my dissatisfaction.<br/>Well every thing we ordered was not good at all but was at least edible. But the Chinese chopsey we ordered was like vegetable stew on fried noodles ( still being polite).

Nice dining experience at guru paradise. Portion of food is good and better than other restaurant. Value for money. If you want for best service ask for promod or akhil. Just need to add on the taste...you will not regret.

Zomato give us the option of negative rating also . After visiting this place i felt like giving a negative rating . Prices are expensive i pint of beer cost you 290 .but see the online menu prices its totally different . Food was not that tasty .. one good thing about the place is its huge and outdoor seating is good .. if you are left with no other options visit this place otherwise AVOID ..

Been a couple of times in this place. Initially was not liking the place just because they use to delay the food, but must say they are improving now and doing a great job. Their food tastes amazing and the ambience is just too good, open space to just chill and hang with frends, I m not a beer fan but started having beer here , prices are reasonable and I would recommend this place to all.

1st things first.. the place is very calming.. you can hav a bad day and spend an evening there in the outdoor restaurant, and you'll leave with a smile..! The food is great, music is good and staff is courteous.. great place to hangout with friends, colleagues or even your boss :D

Honest feedback. I am been a regular customer to Guru Greens which is at far end of Bannerghata road. If you really wana try the food you must go there. Now you will get too many hotels by name Guru or something like Guru paradise. One of the worst food I ever had in my life. Ghee roast had just onions and nothing else. Palak rice was horrible. Prices are way higher. If you are foodie please try any chicken special dish at guru greens which is worth the price. Be cautious..do not confuse will similar names...

Worst experience... every order took more than 15 min ... even Bira beer took 15min to reach my table ... peanuts masala 20min are you guys really want to do business?

They have changed name to guru paradise earlier it was Epicurus. Two types of sitting they have outdoor and indoor as well. Food wise absolutely no if you are really hungry and no place to visit go there and have dal roti and rice. Big no this place

The ambience, menu and price doesn't much up the expectation. Way expensive for the normal item and food is pathetically bad. Not up to the bare minimum expectation.

Been here at late evening and it had pretty nice ambience with outdoor seating in garden like feel and large screen projected. Food is good and service is fast too. Only downer is the staff doesn't know what is on the menu. Go with your family and you will have good time. But choose the garden table as I heard they have hooka servered inside if you like it.

This place very close to the Bannerghatta Main Road and the outdoor seating arrangement as well starts as soon as you enter the place. During peak traffic hours you will see bikes running next to you on the footpath area. It's used to be known as Epicurus. it's a very average place and does not justify the price you pay. Food and service is just okay. Not sure if things changed now after Guru chain took over this place.

The name has been changed to Guru Paradise, the one which was originally conceptualised. So the rein of the guru chain continues...<br/>Fortunately things are way more promising now, prices have taken a knock down and I believe the quality has an increased focus. Starters tasted very well, the Biryani was a tad disappointing, felt it was way too dry, may be the microwave effect of heating rice...nevertheless the horse gram gravy was stunning to say the least. <br/>Service is not express neither excruciatingly slow. <br/>Overall a very positive restart. 5 stars to the ambience especially for such a weather in bangalore currently. A paradise indeed on Bannerghatta Road ...no angels though ;)

Ambience was pleasant. Good place for a family get together. We ordered paneer curry and naan. Food was good and the cost is reasonable too.

The ambience is not too flashy... Outdoor seating is better than indoor seating.<br/><br/>Food is very average.<br/>We started with soups. I liked the manchow soup, but hot and sour soup did not taste like hot and sour. Amongst starters, Nachos were average, but paneer appetizers were terrible.<br/>Moving on to the main course, we tried dal makhani, paneer butter masala, dal fry and garlic naan. Nothing stands out.<br/><br/>On the bright side, the place is not too expensive. And service is good.

I went on Monday with family to treat my sister for rakhi. The place is good and beautiful. Service was good and very attentive. Food we ordered cheese ball, tawa prawns, malai Tikka these were real good. Then we has scezwan chicken which my wife liked but main course grilled fish with lemon butter sauce and pasta with white sauce weren't good at all.. sauce on fish was not lemon butter but beaur blac which did not go well and masked the fish completely. Pasta was not seasoned properly which made it bland.

We had a decent dinner yesterday at this eatery. The atmosphere is serene, not sure of the weekends.. but the weekdays are quite. In case you are looking to spent some good time over dinner with your partner then this would be a good option. They serve some good cocktails, I ordered strawberry colada . <br/><br/>The purpose of our visit here was to take a break from the regular schedule and we were contented .<br/><br/>There service is good and so is the food. Food is decent here, I have had some very bad experiences in Bangalore and this was way better!!<br/><br/>Best part is that they are right on the Bannerghatta road , opp IIM-B where we lack good restaurants and this comes to your rescue. Too much delay in service and food not worth the price it is bring charged. Outdoor seating is the best but not sure how healthy it might be since the dense traffic filled road is not too far from the seating area.

Man... Oh Man... It's rare I rate someone so low but a visit to this place was everything that shouldn't have ever happened.<br/><br/>All my reviews on Zomato are accompanied by photos, an elaborate description of each ordered item and how the place and ambience was, but this one's gonna be different. No photos... because I didn't feel like clicking one.<br/><br/>It started the moment we entered. <br/>(1) There was a board of some *One on One Offer* which was not honored when we ordered. They casually informed us that there's no such offer when the board was still loud & clear.<br/><br/>(2) The chicken preparation that one of my friend ordered wasn't cooked properly. When objected, the waiter tasted it & took away the entire bowl saying there has been a mess up.<br/><br/>(3) Then there came another guy with 4-5 prepared dishes. We were a mix of veg & non-veg crowd and wanted to segregate dishes. Our repeated request to inform us about the dishes being served fell on deaf ears. THE GUY HIMSELF DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS SERVING!<br/><br/>(4) We ordered 4 rotis, only 3 arrived. On asking this, we were casually informed that kitchen has closed. SIR, there's a concept of 'Last Order' before closing the kitchen. You cannot casually slam its door on the people who are still dining at your restaurant. We objected, but obliged.<br/><br/>(5) Out of the 3 roties served, 2 were burnt. We ran out of patience and asked to call the Manager, who seemed to be a top secret agent. The waiter simply didn't call him<br/><br/>We had all sort of lame excuses from the waiter - Manager is eating, Manager is resting, Manager is in washroom and what not. As if Manager had time for everything except meeting few people who wanted to abreast him of the situation. Then to cover up, the waiters went in and called the cook but not the Manager... When asked for Manager, another person walked in being DISGUISED AS THE MANAGER.<br/><br/>We finally met a person, still not confident whether he was the Manager, expressed our grievances and left the place, never to come back again!

Appearance can be truly deceiving. I got this very Toit kinda feeling looking at the V shaped roof and all that but damn, truly disappointed by the way the interiors are done. It looks like an average Andhra style restaurant inside! Why would anyone do that?!?<br/> <br/>The outdoor seating is a consolation but it was 35°C outside so we sat inside. After the initial shock settled in, we ordered pepper chicken, manchow soup, noodles and biryani along with lemon soda.<br/><br/>Pepper was just ground and mixed into chicken and it really killed my taste buds because every bite had so much pepper which made it so spicy.<br/>Soup, biryani and noodles was okay. Very normal, nothing great. <br/><br/>Since it was too hot in the afternoon we didn't have any liquor. I saw there was a bar kinda setting at the entrance. <br/>The name is kinda ironic considering the food was way below average.

It was a worst experience which I faced yesterday and ordered chicken which was not cooked properly and no staff is concerned about the Service and they attend the customer only after 20mind which means poor staff and worst hospitality..so anyone going there have a check list and order only veg atleast it might get ontime and properly cooked.<br/>Don't order Bhatti ka murgh it's a chicken dish and sea food is absolutely a blunder.<br/>

Good ambience, nice food. We had weekend dinner watching ipl final on giant screen. Food was tasty, especially veg platter for the starters.

I rarely give poor ratings simply because tastes vary and I may have chosen to go on a day when the stars weren't aligned. This one was different because everything was bad starting from the ambience (hot day, no ac), the food, the service. We couldn't wait to get out of here. <br/>The Tom yum soup was horrible with globs of oil floating around tasteless cubes of chicken. The chicken tikka was tough and overcooked and felt stale. The mutton biriyani was atrocious with raw spices and a dark brown coloring. We thought you can't go wrong with jeera pulao. Even that was screwed up. The only edible items were a Chinese type chilli chicken and the fish curry. I would be hard pressed to call this an epicurean delight.

If you are broke on a weekend and still want to have decent non-veg and beer, I guess this is the place. The place is quite lively with good music and fountains. Also, there is live screening of all the IPL matches on the entire wall which gives you an amazing feel of a very decent place.

The customer informs the manager that the pitcher of beer is flat. The manager reacts, No Sir! It is not (twice). Anyway, tonight doesn't seem to be mine and I will quietly drink this shame of a beer and return home. I have no intent to trash this place. Some of their tandoori kababs are nice but is it enough to make me come back? I don't think so. Bottle Breacher and Watson's are only a few kilometers away. Worst case, I don't mind paying for an inflated pitcher of beer at TGIF. At least I will not be disappointed. Let the beer be flat, I don't mind drinking it if the management acknowledges it and shows a degree of empathy.

Terrible food! They have no idea how to make a paratha. We ordered vilayati subzi and expecting it to be mild but it wasn't just mild, it was tasteless with undercooked veggies - almost like they had heated up Alfredo sauce to go with paratha! Service is hurried, feels like they want you to get out as soon as possible. overall total waste of money!

Located bang on Bannerghatta Road, Epicurus is very accessible and has ample parking. The place has both inside as well as outside seating. They also have a projector & play live sports for the people seated outside.<br/><br/>The place serves good food, especially chicken starters. Their drinks menu does leave you wanting for more; with limited variety of beer & cocktails.<br/><br/>Overall I won't say this is a must try, but you won't regret having a dinner here with friends / family.

Tried this place on a Weekday, they have indoor and out door seating options, outdoor is preferable on evenings. Located on the busy stretch of Bannerghatta Main Road, place has an OHP installed that plays live sports.<br/><br/>Food is decent, tried kandhahari Murg Tikka, Grilled fish, dirty fries. Loved the grilled fish served with salad and potato wedges. Cocktails need a lot of work, served in lame glasses.<br/><br/>Service is amazing and prompt. Evenings are always busy. The ambience of the place outdoors is good.

Agree with you ... these guys are total cheat... during weekends they don't serve beer pitcher or tower just to promote pint beer sales, beer they serve is not chilled looks like they juz dipped the bottle in ice water and served...and in their family section Ac does not work , total disaster ... writing this review while I am still here ... We are leaving and will never return! Disgusted with the experience!

Very bad experience!! Had been seeing the place on the way to office and finally reached there for dinner. Ordered fried chicken steak (the worst steak I ever, thanks to Epicurus 👍!). Amritsari machhi served cold and soggy- equally disappointing !! Not visiting the place again.

We visited this restaurant and really enjoyed the meal. Ambiance was very good with good service and humble staff... Excellent taste of Kebab/Biriyani/Gobi Manchurian..All together a very good food experience and recommended for those who want to have a good party time with friend and family...

I am from Delhi. Living in a hotel close to this restaurant i was recommended here. <br/><br/>The place is beautiful. Full points for that. The service is very courteous and prompt. The food could see a little improvement in terms of presentation. However, I should mention the dishes I particularly liked. Roti pe boti and their paneer lababdar was fantastic. <br/><br/>Should give this place a shot atleast once.

We went here on a very hot Saturday afternoon post battling traffic at various places. The place was a calm serene place , I think meant mostly for evening drinks but includes aih variety of food in it's menu. We started with rooh e shirin, which has roohabza in it and the drink brought some relief from the sweltering heat outside. I just ordered this as it had been a while since I had rooh abza and wanted to reminisce my childhood, this also had pomengrate and was very refreshing.<br/>The place even though non ac but has plenty of greens to give it a cooler feel. <br/>In starters we ordered stuffed mushrooms which I say were pretty good, I have tried stuffed mushrooms at various places but something or the other is missing , this had the perfect quantity of cheese, with herbs and spices. Next was chilli potato on the list which was good nothing extraordinary though. Main course was veg ala king which was vegetables in brown sauce and rice with garlic bread and sauteed vegetables. It was good but not what we expected, as the brown sauce was mostly cheese, I only finished half before I gave up. <br/>All in all a good experience, would definitely want to try out in evening for a drink with food

Saw this place when i was passing by from Bannerghatta. Decided to stop by for lunch. The ambience is the USP. We could try a couple of dishes. The food is good. Their veg food is as good as their non-veg. The service is also good. Paid around 400 INR per head. Most horrible place visited. Out door seating is just like you are sitting in the middle of the road with cigarette smoke all around you. And indoor less said the better, it's just suffocating. No AC,no ventilation. <br/><br/>Washrooms were horribly maintained. <br/><br/>It takes courage to place the order after looking at the torn menu cards. Trust me not a single menu card is in decent shape. <br/><br/>Food is equally worse. It's just waste of money and quality time with your loved ones. <br/><br/>What glitters is not always diamond.

My husband and I dined here  what a meal it was.the food was amazing Started with the cocktail  and tandoori prawns and fiery chicken appetizers, main course was chicken and lamb. With sides of black daal and raita. All dishes were done well with lots of flavor.Our server did a fantastic job, and was very attentive but not overbearing. Highly recommended.

We have been to epicurus several times and tried different dishes each time. All have been great. Flavorful but not overpowering and plenty of options for all types of eaters. Add a cozy, charming atmosphere and you have a perfect place to grab lunch or dinner . The waitstaff was also very attentive, refilling our water before we even noticed it was low, and happily accommodating our picky son with blander versions of their dishes.highly recommended

My friends and myself all loved every dish we had. They do great cocktails as well. Service on point and friendly even though the restaurant was really busy. Perfect for anytime of the day, I always go back! Always prepared fresh, very tasty.

Awesome place to watch match with a glass in ur hand. Was there on 26th Feb to watch man u vs sou. We just enjoyed a lot. Should think about adding few more cocktails. I am sure I will be there when IPL starts. Thanks guys you guys rock.

My girlfriend and I have recently moved to Bangalore and popped into The epicurus for a Saturday night meal with my parents, who had travelled up to see us from Delhi. I wanted to make sure we went somewhere nice to make their journey worthwhile and we weren't disappointed. <br/><br/>We all had a fantastic meal, each of us having different dishes. The wine was great too. The service was also fantastic, with every member of staff who helped us being friendly, polite and very attentive. <br/> Made a good evening into a great one. Thank you too the team .Now that we only live a few miles away, we'll be regular visitors!

Amazing food ! A variety of cuisines to choose from ! <br/>Great cocktails as well ! The ambience is soothing . When the lights come up in the evening it's a whole new scene again.

They don't know the meaning of soup. Dont order it.<br/>2. Starters were below average.<br/>3. They waiter was stressing on point that this is 'how food is made here and we didnt like it there'.. They really need a reality check.<br/>4. Average sitting arrangement. Very loud music. Average interiors. Mosquitoes everywhere outside. Man its pain.<br/><br/>Management need to take immediate action else the place is going to rock bottom.

A good garden restaurant in bannerghatta road. Good for dinners. Good food with a slightly overpriced menu. Was fun to dine in their garden watching live cricket projected to a big screen.

Been there 4 times.<br/>My experience was not bad.<br/>In fact, the service has improved a lot.<br/><br/>They definitely have to improve a little on the oil that is used in foods. I think even that is improved now a days. <br/><br/>Better food, more crowd.<br/><br/>But they are improving everytime I go there.

Had been for a bday party, it's a good place to be in that surroundings as you would not find a family place like that. I would agree with most of them as the place looks awesome from outside you would not feel the same about it from the inside but that's would change once you order food, it's yummy.

The ambience was good as they have maintained some tables in the open too. But not so good inside as we were met with mosquitoes.<br/><br/>Food was not that good and we left after the starters.

The food sucked big-time. Ordered a Russian Salad, a paneer gravy and a mixed veg gravy with naans. The Russian Salad contained beans so raw as to be inedible and low-quality mayo straight out of a bottle. The gravies were severely oversalted (plus the paneer one had a burnt flavour) and contained chunks of undercooked capsicum. The naans were leathery. Giving one star because they agreed to cancel the items which had not yet arrived and the waiters apologised nicely.

Food is not good at all....Place seems to be fancy and luring,but food sucks !!<br/>Dal makhani was pathetic 😥 no good music as well.<br/>So please don't go here if u are willing to spend some good and quality time

The place looked fancy enough to warrant stopping by but entering it made us doubt our decision. The decor seems extremely 'tryhard' and doesn't set a complementary tone for the place.<br/><br/>We ordered babycorn Manchurian, garlic naan and butter chicken and some noodles. All of which were just about alright and we're not justified by the amount of time they took to reach the table.<br/><br/>My main gripe with this place is that everything feels out of place. The decor, food, music, ambience do not fit well together.<br/>All in all, an altogether skippable place.

A mediocre resto-bar.<br/>Food isn't of that great taste as the price they charge for it. The price is on a bit higher scale so definitely not a place for budget dining.<br/>Didn't try out the drinks but the bar seems pretty well intimidating.<br/>Ambience and location is absolutely brilliant but that isn't the only aspect to attract customers.<br/>Service is pretty good and they did their best to arrange a table for us.<br/>They should definitely improve on the quality of food and pricing.<br/>If they get that right , this could be one of the most happening place on Bannerghatta Road.

Don't Be mesmerised by their outward appearance!!<br/><br/>Had been here on a Sunday evening, chose a seat in the lawn. The lawn was filled with mosquitoes, with those uncomfortable seats.<br/><br/>We ordered for a cold coffee and a fresh fruit juice, must say-never ever had such a pathetic cold coffee and juice!!<br/> <br/>Disappointing service and substandard food !!<br/>

Have been to this place few times. Well designed from the outside. That's it, end of story. It is just another local bar. They have only fosters beer. Nothing else. Food is very inconsistent. One day it is good, the next day they screw it up. Location is a big advantage. Other liquor serving restaurants near by are even worse.

I had been to this place, as it looked really lovely from out. But when we entered it was so crowded. We ordered for the food, but it took almost all like 30 minutes for them to even serve water. <br/>We just walked out after that.<br/>Can't comment on food but the service was really bad which made us walk out.

If there was anything in negative to rate this place I would be the first one to do. This place is surely not to go for, come what may!!! Hilarious staff whom we keep begging to take orders n manager is lost too. Had to visit their kitchen to find them all and still they couldn't manage to take my order n kept me waited for 45 mins, n later of course I fled. Its an insane place no one should ever visit period!!! N obviously I have no comments on food!!!!!

Went there from work for lunch. Had a roti pe boti which was something new and expectional tatsy. The biryani had a good portion and tasted good. Along with this tasted the butter chicken which was average and the roti was decent. Nothing expectional to say about their lime juice. The ambience and service however is very good. The waiter was always aware of what we wanted and kept checking on our table. The outside seating is breezy and nice. Would like to visit again in the evening to enjoy the ambience again.<br/><br/>A little on the pricey side so not your daily lunch option. <br/><br/>Would definitely visit again to try other things from their menu.

Wow what a new year bash we had.. we ordered for 2 small drinks, we were given 1 large stating 2 small is equivalent to 1 large. Wish I knew this from my engineering days.. papad was burnt. Planner didn't have salt at all, when complained I was given salt separately. We ordered coke with drink, by the time it came to us it was without fizz, no ice provided.. paid 450 rs for 6 prawns coated with half cooked masala. the only positive part is ambience.please do visit these place without fail if you wish to spoil your day or you have lot of money and don't know how to spend it. I am so frustrated is that I will not cross the road where this restaurant is built. Managers and captain having no coutrsey. Unfortunately I don't have options to give less than 1.. one point of time I thought of staying outside restaurant and stop people to entire to save their day. The people who were there and having food I was telling very pity on them
