Review A2b - Adyar Ananda Bhavan - Bengaluru

Our team had visited here for lunch and for service to the table, it’s in first floor. We ordered our menu and they were a bit late in even serving us a soup. The tomato soup was not good. But we also ordered Baby Corn Manchuri, Paneer Chilli as starters which was very tasty. The baby corn was crispy and paneer was soft and tender. For main course we had ordered Butter Kulcha which was very well made and the sides for it we chose Kaju Masala and Veg Kofta. Both of these is seriously making me want to go back there along with my friends and family. We also took veg fried rice which again was done very tasty. Overall we had a scrumptious meal. This is my first time eating this good food at A2B. Definitely recommend. There’s couple parking spots for two wheelers out front, cars can be parked nearby and is reachable by walk.

Nice, decent vegetarian restaurant with speciality in South Indian food. They customise your food if you ask for it like spicy or not, to be crispy or not etc… sambhar is great. Go for the dining option and not for a self service option to enjoy a relaxing tension free soothing experience for the palate.. !

Peaceful atmosphere, food quality is good but at time we dine in food was cold (rice, sambar, bal) Average Price's, less food's list in menu
Sanjeet Chaurasia
Fine dining for top class people. Menu items are less but service is good. Peaceful atmosphere but you can feel vibration on the table because of music in Big barbecue. Little high price but overall good.

Here in this restaurant you can get 2 types of servicing Verity as the ground floor is for self service having multiple vegetarian food options where the 1st floor is the fine dine restaurant... The food quality and taste I found really good...must visit place.

I ordered this A2B family dosa which costed 162 ruppes including taxes. The dosa is served with 9 side dishes including masala, sambar, coconut chutney, pudina chutney, something other chutney. So overall the taste is food and the dosa is crispy and cooked very well. 2 persons can easily finish it. Other than this, there are lot of good dishes that A2B serves. From snacks to sweets from breakfast items to lunch and dinner items. Worth visiting.

Needs not much introduction as such, i know. But maybe for ones like me who are new to this place, it should help. It’s a good breakfast and meal place. You’ll get to have good South Indian authentic food. The filter coffee for that small cup is 60 bucks but it tastes a bit different from usual filter coffee that I’ve had elsewhere. So, not complaining about it. Price for food items is not cheap for sure but affordable and the dosa, uttapam and idiyappam we had was pretty good. They also offer meals and thalis and there are good options. They’re available in many areas here in Bangalore. So, quite famous

The food is good but the restaurant management could focus a little bit more on hygiene. I have noticed that sometimes while touching the food the person is not wearing gloves..and once one bowl fell down on floor and the server put it back on counter without washing it. It happened only once though but still it could be improved.
Lalitha Ramanathan
Pongal and Rava Kichadi was awesome. Good ambience and food quality compared to other A2B outlets was superior.

It's authentic south Indian veg restaurant with high quality taste. Its a spacious restaurant. If you are planning to visit n have food in restaurant then it's advisable. But if you are planning for take away then it's not recommended. Takeaway in this branch is extremely delayed. Dine in experience would be great. Price is reasonable compared to quality of food. Give a try.

Visit here for authentic tamil food in Electronic City phase 1. They have self service on the ground floor and fine dining on the first floor. The food is tasty and the service is decent in fine dining. Self service is much better and quicker during peak hours. The taste of dosa is not consistent here, they make soggy dosa during peak times. I have visited this place multiple times and the taste of other items are consistent. Must try - Ghee Pongal, Mini Idly, Coconut Poli and Filter coffee. You can try mini tiffin also if you want to taste everything - they serve rava kesari, idly, vada, ghee pongal and masala dosa in mini tiffin

Good family restaurant. Foods are good especially the South Indian meals. Too good and enough quantity. Parking is bit of issue given the narrow lane. Staffs are very polite and courteous. Service is great. ————- Edit in December 2023 The service has gone down drastically. Staffs are nowhere concerned. They do not have even water bottle available. They will fetch it from downstairs and you need to keep waiting.

The food is really nice. One of the few restaurants in electronic city that opens early at 6am. This is one of the best places for vegetarian food. The filter coffee is great as well. Special mysore pak is a must try. The restaurant can improve a little more on cleanliness but overall its pretty good. Pakoras here are also pretty unique and interesting.

A lot of rush can be seen on weekend. It offers self service. Wide range of sweets, dosa and breakfast available. Taste is also good and place is recommended.
Chaithanya Rao
The tomato chutney was extremely unique to this branch. It is a must try. Being a hardcore South Indian, it is difficult to get such good South Indian food but A2B has always been reliable. The staff is extremely hospitable and tend to your needs immediately. We do really appreciate their effort and their service.
Sandeep
Horrible behaviour of the staff and probable management, not taste in food as well!. ...................................

It is located in the lane of Biryani zone. The big barbecue is just above this. It is quite popular for South Indian food and desi ghee sweets.
I have tried their masala dosa which is good in taste but price is pretty high for the quantity. There are cheaper ones available nearby.
Their breakfast plate is quite good. It is simply fabulous in taste and quantity as per the price.
We tried their North Indian thali as well which is again good as per the price in terms of quantity and taste of every item. The thali costs around 147/-
Must try place for thali here. It does justice in terms of taste and quantity as per the price. Dosa is good again but higher in price compared to thali here.

The guy on the billing counter not wearing mask. Waited in queue for more than 5 minutes and the billing guy was printing old Bill's and didn't bother to take care of the waiting customer. Interestingly, when asked about the delay the manager incharge was very casual to tell billing is intentionally delayed for social distancing reasons.

Restaurant business is all about taking care of customers. The A2B fails this basic.

Even after Corona times, the attitude didn't change for this restaurant owners.

This is the level of packing done by the restaurant on these covid times. I had to order as it was a last resort. However seeing this food I decided to skip my meal. In these covid times unsealed packing being sent. Food sent without condiments.. if they can't serve they should not operate
Anitha Raju
I have ordered sweet pongal and I have got keseri bath.when I enquired about that restaurant they said to me to throw in dustbin whose money ..money is waste.how they answer like this.stupid answer.throw the food we should order online is it.and one more veg biriyani it was very horrible and too too spicy .very worst food I never had like this..too much masala.very worst restaurant electronic city branch.we are paying more
money on online.our money only wasting food quality is very worst.less quantity and more price...wate to order this restaurant
Rahul Khare
We got Kaju Katli from a2b & it was very pathetic...Specially Kaju Katli. If a shop charges rs1000 per kg and still gives you super low quality sweet, then they do not deserve another chance.

A2B, the vegetarian restaurant in electronic city is the ultimate spot for a South Indian food lover. We went there for a quick breakfast and our decision was absolutely worth it . In South Indian, we had Onion Uttapam and 14 Idli. Onion uttapam was delicious whereas 14 small idlis drowned in sambhar and other spices was a delight to our taste buds. In North Indian, we had Poori Masala which also stood out. Along with the food, we tried mango and chocolate milkshake, both of them were good. To end the experience we tried their special Gulab Jamun and Rasmalai and I can't decide which was more good as both of them were outstanding. So guys this is an amazing place , make sure to add this place in your top list.
Uma Kanta
Food quality is very well maintained.. Especially coconut chutney which i loved
Akshay
Very poor quality, but service was decent. The South Indian meal was not at all decent considering the old standards of A2B. The was basin was not working too.
Avi
This place not worth of time no money, the managers are rude ,service is very slow and more often you end up spending hours for your orders .
Kavitha
A2B is my all time favourite especially their mini meals. In mini meals we get chapati, curry, pappad, sambar rice, Kesari, beet root curry, lemon rice, pickle, curd rice. Very good quantity and must appreciate they still maintaining quality.
Raksha B
This place has one of the best sweets in the city. I love all the sweets and the most favourite are dry fruit halwa, rasgulla, kaju cake , mothichoor laddu and anjal king. These are must try.
Pankaj Pandey
Food is really good & tasty. You can have their Idli's & Dosa's in breakfast.

There sweets are also good. Made out of pure Ghee. So if you like the taste of ghee then you will like it. But sometimes it can be a bit overpowering.

Anadi Ameta
One of my favorite spot for eating. I always go there with my family and friends.
Good place, hygiene, cheap and great veg food.
I love almost everything here except raj kachori.
Generally order north India meal.
Bangalorefoodlife
I've recently been here, food tastes great but the prices compared to quantity is very high. Maybe just because of the brand name. Overall good experience

Not at all fresh

Highly recommend for good South indian dining experience....Neatly maintained....Ambience is good....service was nice , polite and fast....Food was tasty ....Had a good experience
Ankush !
Been to this A2B few times for breakfast on Sundays. Menu for bfast is same what's in other darshinis., have tried masala dosa, idli, vada, kesar bath here. Food is good.

Service is a let down, it's self service. Getting coupon and then getting food from counter is quite a task as it's always crowded. Standing in que for coupons for a good time spoils the whole mood for a Sunday bfast. They should have service at table itself.

Food - 4/5
Ambience - 3/5
Service - 0/5
VFM - 3/5

I visited this outlet after a long time. I'm sad to say that A2B has lost its quality and taste. When it first opened, it offered the best Veg food in E-city and we were regular takers of Masala Dosa and North Indian Thali. But during our recent visit, we found the food to be served cold and taste was quite bland unlike their usual food. Even the Noodles and Cauliflower manchurian was full of MSG taste that my son developed stomache upset after having them. We literally left half the food ordered on the plate and left the place.

Very Bad. I was serverd a re-heated readymade Chappathi. It was like throwing away food to a Beggar. No Good Restaurant will server a readymade Chappathi. The taste of Chappathi lies in its Freshness. Worst Service. It seems they have been serving like this for years. Looks like the Manager had already escalated to the management but no actions were taken. Got to know later that even Parotta was earlier readymade , reheated & served to customers. Look at the Pic uploaded.

Went there for breakfast and this place I my regular visiting one.
They serve rich food here. You'll get a vast variety of appetizer and sweets as well.
The specialty of sweet here are that they are cooked in pure ghee which tastes so delectable.
Perhaps this place is one of my favorites when it comes to South Indian delicacy.
Venkat D
Food quality has come down drastically, not sure what happened with A2b
Ordered spl south Indian thali, fried rice and chilly gobi
Spl meals is at the worst
Soup full of sauce taste
Kurma for chappathi was worst
Only sambar and kootu was average, rest all below average
Veg briyani was like rice mixed in ready to eat masala

Chilly Gobi was good
Fried rice was over salty

I think due to over crowd they don't concentrate on quality, it's time to look alternative veg restaurant in Ecity
Pratap Daruka
We visit this place very frequently. Beside Mysore masala dosa, vada the best snack dish is masala pav bhaji and chole bhature. Though 3 out of 5 times you will not get the Chole bhature because they run out of stock very quickly.
Zayan Syed
The food was as depressing as the waiter who took our order. I ordered the paneer curry and was served a whopping 3 pieces of paneer in my curry. The roti was so hard it could be used as a tile.
If you are ever looking to have curd rice that is hot and steamy please check out this place it won’t disappoint.
If you want to have expensive veg food with quantities of a toddler and the grumpiness of my high school principal please visit this place.

Adyar Anand Bhavan is an institution. You can always count on it for some good South Indian staples at a stellar price.

This location has a quick food counter option on the ground floor and a dining option on the first floor. It's a little away from the main Neeladri Road but parking is plenty nearby.
The ambience is okay. The seating is comfortable. There is nothing much to look at and appreciate but this place is known for its food.

I highly recommend the Sambar Vada and Dosas. Each dosa comes with a variety of chutneys to make things interesting. The Sambar Vada is served piping hot and tastes divine.

A2B also provides North Indian food but it isn't the best. We went for some Paneer Achari Tikka and it was absolutely sub par. It would be best to stick with the multitude of South Indian dishes available here.

To end the meal, we opted for some hot Badam Milk. This was an absolute treat. With some sweet and cinnamon spice, this is a great way to end the dinner.

Service on the first floor is really good. There are multiple servers available and they know the best dishes available. There is also a greeter at the doorway. You don't see that often.

Adyar Anand Bhavan is the place to get some healthy food when cooking at home isn't an option for the evening.

Had pongal Quantity they give is very less..Just like prasadam in temples...N they charge 50rs...Waste of money!! Hope they should provide quality n better qty for customers ..I had the same pongal in hosur branch tat was gud n tasty but still over all they charge high in Bangalore with low quality food...Not a good place in Bangalore especially

Ordered Mini tiffin for breakfast and it turned out to be good. Packed well with idly, vada, masala dosa, pongal, sweet, 2 chutney and sambar. Compared to ordering individual food items from a2b, this tiffin box is cost effective.
Saipraveer Suvarna
A2B has lost its quality and standard drastically. Its running just because of its brand name and nothing else. The person who was taking our order was least bit intrested. Looks like the staff here is doing a favour on us. We had ordered for Mini tiffin and Ghee roast dosa. I am giving 2 stars just for the food or else would surely give a negative points for the service what they provide. Its time for A2B management to wake up.
Trilokesh Ranjan Pradhan
If you are a die hard dosa and idli fan they must go. It preserves the authenticity of a2b restaurants. Ghee dosa and veg combo must try. Although all the breakfast items are of good taste.
Ananya Dash
While reading other reviews for A2B i got a bit surprised...may be it only happened with me that the food and the coffee was pathetic...i would say may be the south indian food they serve good but i ordered pav bhaji, raj kachori and filter coffee...out of them i managed myself to eat pav bhaji only...rest raj kachori was nothing but they served sweet curd with some other stuffings and i think filter coffee was so bitter i couldn't drink more than 3sips...may be i should try south indian food next time and i would suggesst dont ever try raj kachori here...
Prateek Pande
Worst service. Poor staff.
Ordered online like 30 times in last 1 month, and order gets delayed always.
Just FYI, it takes them more than 50 minutes to prepare 1 Masala Dosa. And i’m not including the delivery time.
Enquired the restaurant for the delay, they hung up..
Sabarish Velayudhan
Pathetic experience for the second time..All dosas are same..the difference is only in d price.i ordered one paper dosa which is supposed to be like paper ( I HV had paper dosa from multiple A2b outlet's and other normal restaurants n it was good) ..what happened is the normal plain dosa and paper plain looked same where in the rate of paper plain is 90..when complained they changed and gv me a burnt dosa...pathetic experience n would never step into A2B which s only a brand n minting money without giving proper food..the amount of chutney that they gv is not enough for 3 pieces of dosa ..last time experience was dat they said chutney is over

Ordered through zomato, received less and wrong items. But full amount is deducted. Called A2B they said talk to zomato
They we're least bothered.
Now I am not sure how to get differential amount back.
Sumanil197017
Very bad experience
Sarkari
The south Indian dishes idli, Poha, ghee dosa are killer
But the 3 chutneys which come along side are mind blowing as well
They are best in class for south cuisine
The 1 start that they lose is for the North Indian snacks they serve like samosa... 25 RS ka 1 samosa and quite bad
Don't expect service but will get parking

I order daily from A2b. but, this time I am highly dissatisfied. I orderd paratha and rava kichadi. instead of paratha, they bought chapati without prior notice and the other item is half filled only.
I don't know what happened to A2b, we pay handsome money not for this kind of service.
