Pappu Sutar
Its awesome Bengali food. Steamed hilsa , bhetki paturi , and Kolkata biriyani
Amodh Saxena
Very less quantity..for highly priced food..Fish fry had a weird smell..The waiters are clueless about menu items and details
Amit Mukherjee
1. The hotel took a long time to accept the order. 2. They gave fish cutlet instead of fish kobiraji. 3. Did not give fish finger at all. 4. The cutlets had very little fish.
Raunak
Ordered food when we had sudden guests at home. The mutton kosha was just to our liking fatty mutton chucks in a thick spicy gravy. The bhetki fish fry could have had more fish in it but it’s a big VFM. Kebabs and tikkas were great as well.

Would highly recommend the place for those who love simple home style Bengali fare

A very underrated place. Initially, I was skeptical looking at the reviews, but decided to try this place for lunch. The food was decent, rather good to be honest. We had ordered veg-chop, fish-kobiraji, vapa-illish and bangali-polao. The staffs were polite and humble. Most importantly, I was surprised at the bill, it was unexpectedly low. Given that price point, 1 shouldn't expect a swanky eat-out joint. We did visit this place once again and tried out mostly veg options. Potol-dorma was great. May be we were lucky to have not faced a bad situation. 😝 If you are in and around HSR, on a lazy afternoon, I would suggest you may visit it once and check it yourself. At least you won't burn your pocket and repent. 😂🤣

It was a nice experience..liked the food..fish kabiraji was awesome

Thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Be it phulke with mutton kosha or rice with bhetki jhal, loved the taste. Prawn curry was not of bengali style but then taste was good. Biriyani was not that great if someone compares with andhra style biriyani. But then being a bengali restaurant, the bengali dishes were great in taste. For me it's 5/5 for bengali preparation.
Ak_sharma13
The order was incorrect, I ordered egg chicken roll but they delivered chicken roll that too a cold one. The paratha was very tight and rubbery. I struggled to take even two bites. The packaging was not good unlike other restaurants from where I order which keeps the food warm.
Anish Pal
Staffs are very good.... Polite & smiling face.... Ambiance was awesome.... Every bengali who is staying in Bangalore should try this place at least once in life 😊😊.... Thanks to the restaurant staff to make our ostomi special ❤❤
Biswajit Kumar Kar
Their staffs are very rude. They ask to seat you more than 1 hour to get your order delivered. People need to wait for 1 hr for rolls. Don't visit and waste your money
Shyanti Kundu
The staff were courteous, the food was delicious and overall it is quite affordable. The thali is must try.
Tathagata Jana
Homely taste. The restaurant is located in a residential area. Must try fish finger, fish cutlet. Mutton kosha will bring back your childhood memories.
Ankur Bose
It used to be an average restaurant however now its pathetic.. I wont be surprised if it gets closed as well... Prob is with the mentality... Biriyani is so highly priced n the size of the mutton pieces is so so small i cant say... Spoiling the name of bengali food.... Will never order again...
Avisek Sarkar
One of the good bengali cuisine restaurant in terms of both taste and price. Even the quantity of the food is really good. specially those thalis they are the complete package.
Abhinaba Banerjee
Wonderful place for bengali foodies.Sit here with your friends have fun and foods. you will feel like you are in home the way they serve the dedication is absolutely fab
Sourav Kayal
I ordered fish curry. They served expired fish curry and bad smell was comming from it. I had to throw it out. Never ever order anything from here.
Sukanta Karan
Ambience and decoration was good but food was below average and didnt get the set meal which was mentioned in the food menu. Service was below par didnt get extra luchi which I ordered. Reason for not taking extra order was kitchen closing but was not intimated about it earlier. Hence request to improve service and please play better songs
Rajdeep Debnath
Staff are rude. It was on poila boisakh day. Me and my wife went there. Staffs are all busy to serve food to customer. We were standing at the door and waiting and then one staff came sharp on us and on loud voice start telling "side", "side", I felt like I didn't came to a restaurant rather at some cheap eating place. The staff could have been politer and could tell us in civilized manner. I understand it was a heavy day, but you canoot treat your customer like beggar. Anyways we left the place on heavy heart...
Abhinav Aman
what the hell is about the gravy quantity, that's not a bloody RS 270 gravy, seriously s

Orderd a fish combo yesterday it was too good on taste. Enjoyed the food. That before also i had the same regarding the quality its total value for money. A single issue is there what i have selected thats not came to me. As i got the option for selection. Its soupos to be not like that. Thanks for the quality but dissapointed for my order.

Well, my friend want to eat fish.. She was requesting me to cook for past 3months i guess..

But as i am preety lazy person so i ordered fish from here..

Dish : Bhetki Macher Paturi.. 🐠

Quality : It was tastyyy.. 🙈🙈
When you are in Bangalore, and Bengali but lazy to cook, soo, this dish may remind you of Kolkata.. (*Depends) 😂😂

Quantity : It was fine for one person to eat..

Overall okay okay experience.. 😊😊
Rajarshi Nag Biswas
A small sized establishment serving authentic and homely Bengali food....not meant for fine dining but, what it lacks in ambiance it makes up with tasty food which reminds you of your Maa ka haath ka khana...the bengali part of you which has been subdued and has been pushed down beneath the surface due to long years away from Bengal and Bengalis, tends to get rejuvenated when you come to such "around-the-corner", no glitz kind of an eatery, a sudden reminder of your culture, your tastes and of the roots which make you who you are....located bang in middle of a flourishing residential part of the city, this outlet embodies everything simple yet enjoyable in our lives....highly recommended
Arunava Ghatak
Had ordered chicken biryani. Absolutely nothing close to Kolkata biryani. Just adding potato and egg doesn’t make it kolkta style. Rice was super dry and so was the chicken. The chicken pieces were chewy and did not seem fresh at all. Never going to return to this place again.
Riya Singh
Authentic Bengali food.
Bengali's favourite corner. Food away from home. Bengal away from Bengal. Food is delicious with mouth watering delicacies. Service is really good and delivers within a short span of time.

Being a bengali we always crave for bengali authentic home style food . And here I got everything Howrah Bridge and Cinnamon. All food are served with smile. Very polite and humble behaviour of all staff . Quality is good .

Being a Bengali we always crave for authentic Bengali home style food. Nowadays there are many Bengali restaurants spread across this city, Howrah Bridge is one of them. Whenever I see any Bengali restaurant, I go and check out their food items. I didn’t visit this shop physically but many times I have ordered food for home delivery. So I can’t describe about the restaurant ambience and hygiene only I can tell about their food quality.

I liked their fish kalia. It’s a tomato and onion based thick gravy, coriander leaves make it more flavorful. Two big pieces of ruhu fish justified the price. Their sorshey macher jhal (paste of mustard seeds and green chilis) was good when I ordered first time, but 2nd time the gravy was very bitter and tasted pungent. Fish fry (deep fried Indian basa) was okay.

Pankaj Gupta
Not so great at taste , had chicken kosha, was not impressed with taste as it lacked the authentic flavor of spices, more bland than taste though well cooked. Staff was little lousy
Shreya Sharan
This shop should shut down for fraud and looting their customer. Ordered rice, roti and mutton kosha. There was just 1 piece in a full plate of mutton kosha, with almost no gravy and about half a liter of oil. The piece was pathetic with only bones and no meat. I think they thought it was for a dog, hence just gave the bone.
The roti was half cooked. I am never recommending anyone to order from here.
RAJESH MALLIK
A good place for Bangali cuisine.. I like the food, specially the 'Chicken Kosha'. The 'Basanti Polao' is also authentic as it is. Another one is the 'Aam Panna' as in pure Bong way.

But the 'Briyani' is not so up to the mark. The briyani rice was dry with fiber chicken pics, not using the traditional Basmati rice. Another negative point is the wait time, which is 40-50 mints average.

Overall, get there and try for yourself.... BHOJAN RASIK
Noopur Gorai
Forget about the food... Dey r not bothered to even receive d call, I have called Dem 10 times to book a table.. I did not have d privilege to taste d food at all.. May b my bad luck

Very easy to place the order. The DA was very good. He delivered the order to us while it was raining outside. The food was awesome. Dall, Palak, misti all were tasted like home made.
Ishita
Ordered Chicken Mughlai Paratha. The taste was good. There is a lot of scope to improve upon in ambience. Okay Service. One can check out, when they want to try out bengali food.

Jeet
Nothing bengali about their food. The mutton biriyani is so-so...dry and a humble piece of potato with an egg. Lacks flavour. Dimer Devil not worth at all....looks huge..but is filled with gramflour and potato..very smartly mashed together and half egg. Moghlai paratha also..nothing execptional...less spice, no flavour no salt...come on for 200 bucks you ought to give quality. Extravagantly priced and no taste and quality. Tried multiple times but disappointment. If you are looking for authentic bengali food...look at Bangaliaana or Royal Calcutta. This restaurant will not satisfy your bengali toungue.

Had been to this place on bengali new year for buffet. Starting with the ambience, it was suffocating. AC was not working. The staff was not at all cooperating with the customers. The food was also nothing extravagant. The rosogolla was good I must say. Rest it was not that much of a treat.
Murali Kadam

Ambience : 4/5
Food : 4/5
Service 2/5

I like the Bengali cuisine and visited here. Good food, but it could be improved further. Ambience is good too in its own way.

A lot of opportunities for improving the service

I ordered for a home delivery and was very excited to try bengali cuisine as I am a big fan. However I can only describe the experience as average if not a total dampner.

The Radha Ballabhi and Luchi were not made properly. The dough lacked enough or adequate ghee / oil in the form of fermentation. It was hard to bite onto it.

The chicken thali was average. The veg curry and chicken curry was just ok. Nothing great.

The Dhokar Dalna was a spoilsport. It gave a wierd stench.

The cholar dal was the only saving grace which tasted good.

All in all I am not ordering or eating here again.
Avi Sebastian
Bengali biryani has potato which this one didn’t hence wrong information and I had mentioned not to give any dry mutton pieces yet I was served only dry mutton pieces
Sayan Mukherjee
i customized order for payesh but chutney came. Also the chicken pieces were very small and the restaurant provided rice equivalent to 2 people without providing adequate quantity of other side-dishes ( dal, sabji, chicken)
Soumya Dash
Very tasty ,authenticatic Bengali Food .
Priyanjali Das
I'm a Bengali and typically from Calcutta. I know exactly how Bengali food tastes and I know what the pricing is for each of the mentioned dish in the menu. So starting with the pricing it is way overpriced. Just because they are in Bangalore they overprice every dish. Well hello! the price of the ingredients still are the same. So they are just basically fooling around. Then I'll come to the portions. It is way less than a standard portion. The chicken and the fish stuffed dishes don't have either of it. Being a Bengali when I found this place it just got me so excited until the tried the food. Highly disappointed.
Saumyadip Dasgupta
We ordered couple of times...taste was ok..not very good..
Quantity is quite less in comparison to the price for most of the items.
Ok to check for Bengali food once a while.
Sumit Pal
Shittest food I have ever tasted. Behavior of the manager lady is too arrogant to bear with. Almost each of the dishes we tried are literally oil mines. Will not recommend it at all!
Anubhav Dutta (addy)
I have heard a lots of mixed reviews about this place, when tried out of my own the experience was pathetic. The food was burnt, no accompaniments. Beware droolers (Bengali) do not order food from here. Highly dissapointing. There are tonnes of Bengali restaurants to serve our cravings.
Anurag Dey
Being a bengali, food always comes first and when given a choice between biryani and anything else, I always go for biryani. Ordered a bengali biryani and being a zomato treats member received a complimentary payas(kheer). The biryani was authentic bengali in all senses, fragrant, had potatoes, not very spicy and succulently cooked chicken... Loved the biryani... The payas could be worked on as the rice hadn't been boiled properly and payas is an important dish in our bengali cuisine so it needs to standout.
Aritra Datta
The reason for this rating is the poor quality of fiah. The luchi and papad aren't packed properly. Lastly, the order is for payas whereas chutney has been provided in it's place. Please remember that people are paying the full price and therefore, some quality standards are expected.
Prachi Mazumdar
My usual go to for binging & weekend treats!! The food here is amazing and the taste is exactly what every bengali looks for... Their rolls take u back to Kolkata. The vegetarian menu has lots of options , I, personally love the doi potol and aloo dum. From the non vegetarian section posto chicken, maach er kalia are to die for *slurp *slurp
And to top it the prices are pretty reasonable and quantity more than enough ! All in all, 2 thumbs up & a rating of 5+ , they deserve it
Prerana Harichandan
Ordered few times from this place earlier food was manageable nothing great but yes a bit authentic Bengali food taste you can get it.

But my today order disappointed me I ordered chiken muglai parotha, prawn malai n mutton kossa. None of the listed satisfied my hunger as I highly got disappointed from the muglai parotha which was so hard n crispy that I felt I am eating a papad stuff with something not even chicken taste you can get, thn come to quantity. I ordered normal portion which is mentioned in menu but the container I got was half portions containers so now I am thinking is it worth to spend 250 buck on each dish n get half portion only. Mutton kosha only 2 n half pieces rest I guess chef had.

So mostly this was my last order from this restaurant as they are not maintaining the quantity n quality of food.

Highly disappointed foodie
Pratik Chakraborty
Good taste but the chicken pieces in the biriyani are too small not like usual size of the pieces of chicken in Kolkata Biriyani...
Sanchari Bhattacharya
the food was horrible.. restaurant sent the food cooked with rotten materials. Really not going to order from here anymore.
Raghavendra.honawad
Packaging was pathetic, RICE was spilled all over due to which it was not hot also. I demand packing amount to be refunded.
Mithun Dutta
Good
Juhi Singh
Three star for the good taste. no more starts because Payas rice was not cooked and other foods we're very very oily.
Dilip Anand
Decent place
Food ok if not great
Service for us it was good since we are their suppliers
The moment I told I'm from citymandi we got excellent reception so good place for a quick lunch or snack
Prangan Duarah
Howrah Bridge is a Bengali restaurant situated near the HSR BDA Complex.. Besides the Empire restaurant..
I have high hopes from this restaurant as many of my friends have come here and given a decent review however I couldn't find the same..
We have ordered for Chicken meals and Fish meals.. The food which we order was quite cold.. The rice was mild hot and the fish they serve is direct out of deep fridge... When I asked the person over there he agreed to me. Though he changed the item but that's not the way to serve to your customer.
The fish gravy is not upto the mark. It's too watery to be considered as a perfect Macher Kaliya
Ambience- Decent one but nothing great.. I feel they should have curtains in order to prevent excess light..
Food - 2/5
Ambience - 2/5
Service - 3/5
Value for money - 3/5
Suvadeep
Excellent food taste, authentic bengali
Ramen Roy
If they give free food+money then also i will not visit here again.that kind of food they serve.they dont even know what is bengali food.they even dont know how to arrange seats for customers. Its pathetic.
Arghya Dey
chicken was full of salt and we got fulka instead of naan
Debapriya Dutta
On the Bengali new year afternoon, for the craving of Bengali food, we decided to check out this place.
There was a huge rush that day due to the significance of the day I guess. Options for buffet were also available but none of us went for it. Instead, we went for fish and mutton combos along with aam panna and bhetki paturi. The luchi and torkari combination went good. Luchis were soft, though not hot. And the aloo sabzi was really well prepared. The dal was good too which tasted better with aloo bhaja. The fish piece was quite large and softly cooked. The gravy was light and good to taste. The chingri pieces were quite small but the curry was good and had a soury different flavour which tasted good. The last but not the least, aam er chutney was just the best thing of all. It was prepared just the way I'm used to having chutneys at home.
Bhetki paturi was theekthak since it had less salt. But it was very soft. Aam panna was great.
Their service was pretty late that day due to the huge rush. But they were very apologetic for that so it's fine for us.
Food:5/5
Service: 4/5
Ambience: 4.5/5
Worth for money:4.5/5
Arpana Choudhary
quantity was half
Anshuman
food is just awesome... delivery is very late..
Debdipta Halder
we ordered fish thalis. the fish Kalia was good but the sorshe fish was aweful. also we ordered payash with one and chutney with one. we recieved chutney with both. Previously also the same thing happened.
Sumit Kumar
They are fooling the customer. I ordered chicken biryani and they charged 250 but in biryani there is hardly any pieces of chicken. I advice not to order from this reastaurant at all.
Saurabh Prakash Saxena
Ordered mutton Biryani and mutton was not cooked and could not chew also.

Only rice was edible.

Bad experience, would recommend Restaurant to check food before sending .
Ankita Basu
We heard about this place from one of our friends so we decided to explore this one.
We went there on poila boishak for lunch
The seating was good but some places were really suffocating due to lack of proper ventilation on a sunny day.
The service is very poor and slow.
When it comes to food, a buffet was arranged but we opted for ala carte so we ordered radha bhallabi, mutton kosha, basanti pulav and prawn malai curry.
Radha bhallabi was exceptionally good
Apart from that rest of the dishes were just average.
Greatly disappointed with basanti pulao which was tasteless and with the delayed service of the staffs.
The other outlets are much better if u wanna try dome really good and authentic Bengali food.
This place needs to raise their standards quite high in terms of the quality of food they serve.
Gitesh Srivastava
wrong food delivered
Sabyasachi
Worst delivery service. The delivery guy from zomato can’t even trace a location in google map. Wasted 1hour and finally they cancelled the order when you are hungry and it’s too late

#READERS, PLEASE TAKE THIS REVIEW POLITELY BECAUSE ZOMATO ASKS FOR POLITE FEEDBACK, WHICH I CAN NOT DO FOR THIS PLACE:

We visited here two time on our first visit kartik the captain, served us very nicely, the few dishes were very good and few were disappointing but he took feedback, that day he even invited us to visit on poila boishak on 15/04/2018. We took few of our friends and went there, first thing restaurant was full so we understand it will be difficult for them to serve us on time. But what we got was unimaginable. we ordered starters and kartik asked us to order main course along with it so that there's no delay, but before our starters meal came, I said we will have starter first, so kartik requested to keep our meal on the table and have it later once we are done with our cutlet, now the tables are so small meal plates and starter plates can not be accommodated together, and also we didn't want to eat cold food, so I told him this. he took the food away but served the same cold food to us. That was also taken by us thinking that they are not able to handle the crowd. I was served stale mutton curry, when complaint they said no it's not possible. we were served three plate mutton only one was stale I checked all of them and then said. I told them not all there but only one is smelling. They refused to admit. Earlier when I said the mutton is cold that time- Kartik served me a plate of mutton saying for you I have brought it, you complaint so it's our responsibility. After finishing our dinner Lady owner asked us to come down and pay we went down took our bill saw we were charged for the extra plate of mutton which we were not supposed to, rather coming to a solution the lady owner said.... 'Charna charna' in a very harsh way, her behavior is so poor, in fact from the beginning, she was just irate, unable to handle customer, had a rude face on for all time. When you are in a service industry you have to keep calm, and where we didn't do anything to make them angry then why this kind of behavior.

It's a no no place for us forever. Very bad behavior, we can excuse the food but her behavior spoilt our day. We took our friends their, what they are thinking about us, my husband and I apologize to all our friends.

Not complaining about the ac, but it showed that they were not prepared for the day, they lost the ac remote and it was so hot inside, and no arrangement for fans as well where air was not reaching from fixed fans.
Chayanika Roy
The delivery was on time and the packaging was good. However, the chicken cutlet tasted a bit weird and the quantity was less for the price. I hope the quality and quantity are improved in future.
Swaraj Paul
I am not satisfied. I tried this restaurant expecting a lot about my very own traditional bengali food would be gifted by this restaurant, but what I really got is all cold stuffs , honestly only one item I could say as good is Gobi sabzi (ফুলকপির তরকারি) . I was really disappointed with dal, fish curry and most worried about hilsa(ইলিশ) . As a bengali ,we all know a bit well about fish mainly when it's the matter of ilish. I am very much bothered about it was ilish or not. The bone structure was not at all matching with ilish. Anyway, I was expecting to make my পয়লা বৈশাখ memorable, thus exactly it happens. Thank you.
Sumit
The shittiest food I have ever come across. I would have given -5 if it was possible.
1. The food is excessively oily and completely unhealthy. In the chicken dish(kacha lonka murgi) we ordered, the oil:gravy was 3:2. Have a look at the picture. The fish items were also similar.
2. The service was also terrible. The lady, who was managing the restaurant was too arrogant to talk to.
3. The washroom was dirty. An empty bottle of handwash was the only hygienic thing there.
4. They call themselves a bengali restaurant, but I felt that even the street food stalls sell more bengali-ish food than this.
5. I am a foodie and I have visited most of the bengali restaurants in bangalore, but this is the first one which I thought people should not visit.
6. They use a type of cheap oil for cooking. Just taste and smell the oil a bit, and I am sure you will be able to distinguish.

This is the first restaurant for which I felt to make people aware of the food quality here. I hope this will help you are looking for a healthy meal.
শুভ নববর্ষ. :)
SRIJAN GUPTA
On the occasion of "Poila Boisakh" we visited this place for Bengali food. We chose to have buffet.
Ambience: Ambience is more or less okay.
Staff and services : Staff and services provided was below satisfactory level. We chose a table, sat there for some time and went to take food from buffet table. When we returned, the table was occupied by some other people. This kind of mismanagement is not at all desirable. After repeated requests they provide us water. And after finishing our dinner when I went to the washroom, there was no hand wash available. So,in my opinion the service should be improved in a large scale.
Food: The food menu had lesser number of items. But the main problem was with food quality. None of us was satisfied with the food. Every item was way too oily. Bengali flavour was not at all present in those items. When we told them about this, they started justifying themselves. We were not happy at all with the food quality.
I don't know about the normal day food and staff behaviour, but our special occasion mood was ruined by the food.
Adrisha Bhattacharjee
food packed had been damaged for that some food was waste parcel was not good
Arka Konar
Extremely over priced compared to the quality of food they serve. We ordered Kolkata style mutton biriyani and chicken masala combo. But the biriyani quality was below average and only one piece of chicken in chicken masala!
Even the management was also not very efficient. AC and fans were not working, people were waiting for so long to have the orders on the table.
Very disappointing experience on the very first time.
