Review Chungs Chinese Corner - Bengaluru

Taste Buddy
Visited after a long time. The food is nice and so is the service. It's a nice and cute.little dining hall with about 12 tables. Tried Chicken Manchow Soup, Mixed Fried Rice (Chicken and Prawn), Veg Schezwan Noodles, Veg Balls in Gravy. All the items were good.
Durba Sengupta
Good chinese food at a reasonable price. The peaceful environment is perfect if you want to have your meal in peace. The decor adds a nice charm to the place. Situated at the heart of Jayanagar 4th block market.

Best koithai in the town. I have been eating veg koithai here from last 11 years and their taste is one of the kind and never able to get that anywhere. Quantity to price is definitely higher here. Other than koithai noodles are ok and not as great. Any vegetarian visiting this place must order veg koithai along with any gravy. Also has one of good lime sodas used to be excellent few years back, still good.

Update (April 2022): Visited again. Lighting and decor has been redone. The restaurant's ambience has improved a lot. Menu has new items. We tried steamed wontons, Cantonese mixed noodles and Thai basil chilli chicken. All the dishes were exceptional! Really had a great experience! An understated cosy, homely place to have nice Chinese food. You can actually have good conversation over meals. Food is good. They make prawns really well. Highly recommended because of service and pocket friendly meals!

Best place for Chinese food. It’s a small place at Jayanagar. Food is great.

I visited this place recently after a very very very long time, like after almost 20 years. I had been once in between when i was visiting Bangalore but then the seats were very dirty and the place was dingy and smelt funny. Hence exited the premises. Now they have redone the place and the sofas have new upholstery. Veg only review. Just had two standard dishes - veg fried rice - 4* 🍚 and American 🇺🇸 chopsuey 5*. Both were decent tasting. Recommend families to visit this place. They have limited seating. Might seat around 40 at a time.

Indian Chinese food served here. The ambience is not very nice. Food quality and quantity are good .

This is a place I have been visiting for the last 14 years and has not changed a bit. You get good indianised Chinese cuisine. The menu has almost remained the same and it brings back memories. The only let down today is they don't have mobile card machines and you have to walk up to the billing counter for card swipes or be ready to share your pin. Other wise I love it.

Good Chinese Restaurant !! We visited this place for a team lunch and being a weekday there was not much crowd. They have seating in 2 different floors and can accommodate good number of people. We ordered some Fried wontons and crispy potato for starters and crispy chowmein and Hakka noodles for main course. The service was very fast the food was good. Overall worthy of a visit.

Very cozy place, dull lighting, well air conditioned, right opposite to Jayanagar cosmopolitan club, friendly staff, good quantity is given, quite reasonable, no specific parking space, Food is really nice n quite fast..

Amazing chinese food... The service was so good and well served.. I really enjoyed every bit of it... Tripple Szechuan was a good and wantun soup
Aparajita Sinha Choudhury
A cute little store with a wide range of dishes. It’s more of like a quick bite or a casual hangout place and not fine dining . Overall decent.

Once upon a time was a crowded place. The food is good even now. Service was great! Ambience is OLD.
rakesh raaki
The fried rice and chilly chicken was really good. Did not like the Chicken lollipop. The service was quick and price also is affordable.
Sumanth D N
Being a vegetarian I had very less items to choose from. Whatever we ordered was good in taste and service was fast too. The quatity, quality according to price is very good. So would try again soon :)

I have been visiting this place from a very long time and I love the food of this place.... But the restaurant has been increasing the price and for the portion they serve the price is too high... And there are cleanliness issues in this place... Once I had found a cockroach in my dish.. And when I complained they told that they hadn't done the pest control and that the will not charge us the that dish... The light over the place is also too dull.. Poor ventilation.... And this time when I went to this place, the waiter was not at all interested in taking the order... We ordered chicken koithoi and American choupsey as always.. But this time the quantity was also less and the koithoi was too oily and very spicy and the crispy American choupsey was undercooked... All our stomach went upset after having the dinner there...

One of those dimly lit Chinese places with the usual decor and menu. Might go unnoticed since it's a small place. But the menu spread is varied. Lung Fung soup was good. Dragon rolls with Garlic sauce could be better but I liked the Shanghai Fried rice. It was flavourful and well prepared. Decent place for a family dinner usually costs 600 for 2 people.

Overall 3.5/5
Varun
Let me just start by saying, the food is simple and yum. The place from the outside looks small and average, no fancy lights or anything, just simple which is good for a change. The food options are great especially the Drums of Heaven, I had. Price-wise it's decent but the service needs to be improved. A definite must try for any Chinese food lover.

We reached late at after 3 p.m. for lunch on a Sunday.

We were seated downstairs since the ground floor lunchroom was packed. This seemed to be a good sign.

The decor or ambience could be better. The dim lights are a bit too dim plus ventilation seemed to be an issue downstairs, however it worked out okay. The service and food more than make up for it.

We ordered the following: Appetizers :: Dragon Chicken, Thai Chilli Chicken ; Mains :: Mixed Chilli Chicken (with Prawns and Chicken)

All the items were well made and 1 Starter and 1 Main are sufficient to feed 2 people quite well.

I would highly recommend the Thai Chilli Chicken.

Adding the cost of one Lime Soda, total cost came to about Rs.800 which is average for a lunch meal.

Would recommend it to anyone in a mood for Chinese food around Jayanagar.

Don’t accept Zomato gold when they clearly say they do. Not good place and the place is very dull and waiters are very rude

Arun Pai
We called up close to closing lunch hours, but the staff welcomed us over phone and in person, made us comfortable and didn’t rush us to order or eat quickly. They were patient, showed no hurry & served politely.
The food was superb. Right from the soups (Sweet Corn & Manchow) to the starters (Chk Manchurian & Crispy Chilly Chk) to the main course (Chk Chowmein, Cantonese Noodles & Dim Sim Chk), we had nothing to complain about. They tasted great and came in generous portion size.
Must say, this restaurant has retained its old glory, service & food standards.
Aayush
In addition to being a Zomato gold accepting place, this is the best Chinese you can find in Jayanagar 3rd block. Schezwan chicken noodle with dragon chicken is the best combo.
Pradeep Harthy
We tried chicken momos and it was out of the world. Hunan Malaysian flat noodle was yumm too. Would love to visit the place again. Courteous staff and an average ambience.
Shaik Fuzel
Tasty food good...sure again I’ll Visit and good service nice place . Tried chicken Singapore chow mien and chilly paneer and loved the both . I would recommend everyone to try
Dhanush MK
Food was excellent, veg foods are mild spicy.
Preferably for group of 4 to 6 as quantity is provided is more, would prefer for non vegetations.
Over all good.
Would like to visit again.

Taste - 2/5
Ambience - 3.5/5
Service - 2.5/5
Price - 3/5

Taste - the menu is a game of roulette , some dishes are good some are extremely bad . I have been here 3 times. Some dishes were really yummy like the lamb roast. But the lamb in red chilly was a disaster. I felt like Gordon Ramsay because I wanted to spit it out immediately and cuss at the chef but obviously we can't so I left it and didn't touch it again. And the fried rice was under seasoned. The chilly chicken was our lucky order because it tasted really nice .

Ambience - I liked the ambience of the place . Everything I go there i always find them playing 90s English songs which makes me nostalgic. They have cute Chinese wallpaper and Chinese decor.

Service - Service is a bit slow . Waiters were tagging each other because none of them wanted to work.

Price - I felt the quantity was too little for the price. Or it maybe because I used my zomato gold and they didn't want to give 1+1 so they cut off the portion. I ordered crispy chilly chicken they served only 5 strips ( exactly 5 thin and small strips) the quantity of lamb in red chilly was also very little.

When you are ordering at Chung's, remember it is a game of roulette. If you are lucky you will get tasty food , if not have a Coca-Cola at least that will be the one thing that tastes nice.

Went to this place at a friend's recommendation and I am really glad I went for this place. A small place with not a huge accomodation but the food........it's AWESOME. The chowmein, koithio and the starters all were just WOW. Totally recommend this place for a casual Chinese outing
Anjali Avinash
Affordable place. The place is kind of dark and shady which gives you the feeling of some dabha kind. The food is good. Quantity and quality.
FaRzz ZAii
Had ordered fried rice and Manchurian gravy. Found a cockroach in the meal. The manager told the pest control guy could not come over the weekend, hence cockroaches were roaming all across the place. The manager and the staff were unapologetic in their behaviour and we were only told that they would not charge us for the meal! It was ridiculous. Never visiting the place again!

Service:

1. Slow
2. Non responsive staffs
3. No AC or fan even after requesting for an hour

Food:

Tasteless. No salt or flavour in any of the items. Chicken noodles was dry as wood. Chopsuey had no salt. Had to return and asked to add salt. They took 45 minutes to fix that and I have not got the food. Had to ask them politely at least 7-8 times and finally the screaming worked.

Please don't waste your money here. I am still hungry at 5 pm because of them. All the other customers were complaining as well.
Vasudevts
Food wise I have always loved it - no doubts about that. Unpleasant experience with variable pricing. They have increased the price & billed me. When I asked them they said prices have gone up. Guess thay are doing this for Zomato Gold customers. Zomato needs to take stringent action.

Horrible place food they spoiled completely not like before even the staff are hopeless fellows
Yak one of staff had a running nose and shirt with some stains which looked very bad
Totally closing soon for sure

Nice place in jayanagar, budget friendly , comfy dark and cozy ambiance, friendly servers and staff tasty food loved the starter we had don't remember the name though, soup n noodles were tasty
Vegetarians get a test of Non-Veg. 😡
Used to be our ‘go to’ place for Chinese. especially fried rice. But waiter delivered chicken chilli - instead of veg, to a ‘strictly vegetarian’ guest and spoilt it all. Staff should be careful! Especially in traditional Jayanagar area! However, the fried rice was good. Tried wanton soup for the first time, and though the spice levels are ringing in my ears, it was tasty. Rest is all standard fare!
Dee Nair
A place where you can have a authentic chinese foods. The raste of the food is good. The service and people around there are friendly. The theme is good dark place, with those Chinese lamps and all.
Jiggly Kelu
Good place and friendly staff..food also good we had mixed fried rice manchow soup and mixed noodles..nice it was 5% Gst they wil charge on total bil

Chinese food at its best :)
We ordered the cantonese noodles and the crispy chilli chicken and the chicken lolipop and the koi thai veg noodles!
This place makes the food so fresh and tasty!
Its a small place and is hence crowded and going early is surely recommended!
MUST VISIT :)
Sanjay
One of the best places for having Chinese in an around the area. Every single thing I've tried here is amazing. This place is very near to my office so I've come here multiple times and will keep doing so. Veg manchurian is a must try.

As a kid, my parents took us to this restaurant very frequently (once a month), infact even the waiters knew us and our order each time, without placing it!. This time I visited after a good 10 odd years with my hubby. The ambience has changed. It's made more bling bling. Tried some new stuff this time.
We are vegetarians. So all the items mentioned here are veg.
Started with Lung Fung soup. This could have definitely been better. Lacked the Chinese flavour. We had to keep adding various sauces, vinegar, salt etc to make it taste better.
Next, time for the starters! Came the babycorn chilli and momos. Loved the babycorn chilli. Just like I wanted it to be. A little spicy, perfectly crispy, the right amount of sauce and served hot. Momos were very disppointing. It was not hot, nor was it kept in the closed basket, like it is served usually, dint taste good too. I should have ordered the spring rolls instead (looked tempting when I saw it in the next table, lol).
For the main course we ordered veg koi-thai. It's a variety of flat Malaysian noodles. Loved it!!!. The taste still lingers in my mouth and I can visit here again for the same koi-thai. I have tried their leefo chowmein earlier, and I love that too.
The place is light on the pocket, and if you are looking for the "Indian Chinese" non expensive version, can definitely visit!.
To top it all, we happened to be here on the Chinese New year!. The restaurant was fully occupied even on a weekday. All in all, a good restaurant for a family visit.
Abhinash
Pretty awesome place for chinese dishes. It's very near to my office so you would find me and my colleagues visiting this place very often. Do try their cantonese noodles (dark sauce) and veg ball manchurian. Non-veg dishes are also tasty in here. One thing which I really liked about this place is that even after being a non vegetarian I like their veg items pretty much. They use lots of veggies in their noodles and spice level is not much, but they can customize it on your recommendation.
Avigyan Nandi
Taste - Good.
Portions - Quantity is good for one.
Must try - Special Sea Food Chowmein (1 is good for one person). Can also try out Special Lamb Chowmein.
Ambience - Okay.
Service - Great. Ask the staff about which combination of dishes to choose, they're good at it.

Dull ambience, unhygienic, very dull environment, Very rarely you will see any body there.food was ok,price was ok.requires lots and lots of improvement

A good Chinese restaurant . Have been here multiple times with family and friends. A good friendly team with right attitude for providing service with quality food. Recommend this .

The food at this place is great. The ambience here is cozy. The service is quick too. So all in all it's a good place to have chinese as the food is also inexpensive.

It's a nice place to have chinese food .. Good ambiance... Service was a bit late...
Overall very good... I had ordered schezwan noodles and the taste was pretth good
We always go back for the food as it's one of the tastiest Chinese in town. Problem is with the service . Big time egoistic staff not ready to do anything for the customers .been going there from 2009 still the staff don't bother to give the basic service.

Shashank Suvarna
Regular Customer here!
We drop by here every week since my office is close by. Great service and amazing food. I recommend all their sea food, koithio, chowmien, Malaysian noodles etc.
Also, this place has Zomato Gold which definitely has made me visit this place even more often.

PS: You could definitely work on a better playlist which would add a lot to the beautiful ambience and artwork at your restaurant.

Keep up the great work!

Good and tasty food for Chinese food lover. Soup was so hot and delicious that stomach was filled with soup itself. Small sweet place for 2 people to have Chinese food. Veg. Koithai quantity was too much. Couldn't finish it all. Overall experience was fine. Chinese food lover should visit once. Price is also in budget.
Ananya
Lot of variety and decent pricing. Tasty wise food needs improvement. Ordered leefo chowmein, hao hao chicken and hongkong chicken. Noodles was a bit dry and lacked flavour. Chicken in the noodles was too dry.
Kavya V
We ordered prawns chowmein with chilly baby corn as the gravy. The quantity actually can be shared easily between two! The chowmein had good amount of prawns and the chilly baby corn was spicy as expected. I love chinese now. I will surely be back for more!

This has become our official comfort food restaurant oflate. The chinese and thai options available here are pretty good. Most important the portions offered for the amount charged is definitely value for money. The place could definitely do better in terms of their decor, lighting and ambience. Gets a little gloomy at times. Overall a decent place to have good value for money chinese food.

Good seating. Early fast service. Noodles bit oily. Overall good experience given the time.of the day. Starter was good. Good seating. Early fast service. Noodles bit oily. Overall good experience given the time.of the day. Starter was good.

Came here once before... today i realised the place is roach infested... they need to do something about it... had spotted 4 cockroaches since i got there..

This place was really bad! Only soup was good. Starters and main course was way too bad. Wish I could write atleast a single good point about the food here. Lollipop was very bad! Chicken was not fresh! Bad taste! This would be my last visit here!

Visited the place with colleagues and it was good. As a Gold member, this place is worth a visit again and again.
Drums of heaven was heavenly.
Veg Spring roll and Veg Fried rice were also great.
Szechuan chowmein was okay.
Chilly chicken gravy and American choupsey were utterly delicious.
Shikha
One of the best manchow soup is in Chung's,not to forget their leefu rice with hunan gravy.... Be it chicken or paneer... It's yummmm..... The veg ball Manchurian gravy is one of my favourite that complements the fried rice (chicken or veg). Chung's has always one been that one place to go when in mood to eat some good Chinese.

Taste was good. Soups tasted great. Friendly staff and a good ambience. Starters wer of different taste and was wer tasty too. Hadn't tasted something like that found it very unique.

The place is not that good for students and teenagers! It's like a family place thing but too small !
The good was good and were well served !
If you are ordering fried rice I would refer you to choose schezwan fried rice !
Hadley Shemaiah
The prices, the quality, the quantity, the yumm levels -
If you haven't eaten here, you MUST.

I'm usually annoyingly cranky when it comes to IndoChinese food (especially coz it's my favorite cuisine) But Chung's has never disappointed me!

Recommended - EVERYTHING
Deepak Rao R
I am regular visitor to this place. Till now no improvements to the ambience. Coming to food, quality has reduced. This time we ordered lunk funk soup, Drum stick of heaven & dragon chopcise. Soup was ok, but Drum stick of heaven had no taste, chopcise was not chrispe &no taste.

Have you ever had a day where you just feel like ordering all the weird sounding names on the menu?
Yeah! That's exactly what happened when we ordered "chicken Fuyong , Threaded shredded chicken, Honey crispy noodles ice cream" and to be on the safe side, we ordered a chopsuey.
It turned out that Fuyong was stuffed omlette and noodles ice cream was just ice-cream on top of fried noodles.
It was a different experience and the food was good!
Having Zomato gold has been really helpful in trying out a variety of cuisine at a reasonable rate.
Chung's has a decent ambiance.
I would say that you can try this place once.

Late night visit to Chug's Chinese Restaurant turned out to be a wonderful experience. It was around half past 10 PM, found Open Sign and we went in. There were at least 4 Tables with Customers and we took one table at the corner. Lights were sort of dull but looks good. Coming to the food, We ordered Steamed Wontons and then asked for recommendations for the rest. Food came in relatively quick ... Prawns were soft, yummy and tasty. Next comes Wontons, it was sweet and sour. Veg Meefoon and Veg in Hot Garlic Sauce was a good combination. Good quantity and we could not complete the meal and asked for to pack the remaining food and the staff did it with a smile. Overall a good experience! They also accept Zomato Gold and it's quiet reasonabley priced.
Vasanth Kumar
Hands down the worst, driest, toughest-meat version of Dragon Chicken i've eaten in my life. Waiter had the audacity to flippantly say the air-conditioning is the reason its dry.
Rubina
Ambience was really dull, though food was good. Not too good not bad.I would say it was satisfactory. We had ordered chilly mushroom along with egg fried rice.Mushroom gravy preparation was nice.Quantity could have been more according to what they are charging for the dish, however overall experience was good.
Faezah Mehreen
the taste is very good... the price is reasonable for main course and they give good quantity
but the appetizers price is too high for the quantity they serve

I found this place kinda nice...It has good seating facility. ..food was good..service was average...price is reasonable. ...Chinese food lovers will love this place...We ordered some wanton soup, crispy spinach chicken, 🍖🍗🍝basil fried rice, fish chilly, and lamb red chilly. .It's very nice ☺

I just wanted to try some Chinese so found this place near to my coaching centre so me and a bunch of friends went to this place to have lunch.

This place is the quickest when it comes to serving food fast ,firstly we had shortage of time to complete our lunch upon that we were around 14 members together so it’s a lot of food though !

We ordered 7 plates of Chinese noodles and 3 plates of spring rolls and 2 plates of veg balls so the order came in within 5 min that was too quick and the staff were all so good they served the food even more rapidly !

Our experience was like we were sitting on a rollacoaster ride and had our lunch which was an absolute delight to our stomach and there was definitely a good value for money.

Went to this Chinese restaurant for the first time, though I've been wanting to go for a long time. My daughter visited this place recently and suggested that we go there today. It was an average experience with nothing great to write home about. The food was okay and the service was a bit slow despite very few people in there. Chicken coriander soup was quite tasty with enough chicken pieces in it. The shredded threaded chicken was pathetic with hardly any chicken in it, just some noodles passed off as shredded chicken. The Taiwa prawn curry was good with the tasty sauce and the prawns were medium sized though only 8 pieces. Mixed chowmeinwas overcooked and smashed with hardly any mixture in it. Overall an average and running the mill experience.
SHIRSA
Delicious and probably the best Chinese food available here. Located at a prime place in jayanagar. Satisfied by the quality and taste of the food served here. Really a must try !
Pramod
It has been one of my favorite Chinese food joints for almost a decade and I feel sad for giving it such a poor rating. However what I have noticed that over the last 2 years or so the service and food has gradually deteriorated and yesterday's experience was downright pathetic.

The last visit to the restaurant we had to walk out without being served food though we patiently waited for almost 75 mins. 2 items which were served (I.e., soup and crispy chilli chicken) were cold and did not look fresh. The starter was rubbery and was cold which made it virtually inedible.

The waiter bought the rice item even before the starters were served and expected us to have starter later. That's when we decided to leave the place.

What a call in service and food at this restaurant which was at one point of time one of my favorites.

Would I ever visit it again: I doubt but for the old times sake I have given a half a star extra.

The service levels and food quality has deteriorated and I feel that if the same thing continues it is not long before it shuts shop.

After watching Thor movie at INOX Leisure, me and my friends wanted to have some good food as we were very hungry and we were finding some good restaurants near Jayanagar. Suddenly we thought of going to Chung's with a great doubt about the quality and taste of the food as it was our first time. Finally, we decided to go. We ordered Veg balls (dry), Veg chowmien , Chilly garlic chowmien, Veg szechuan fried rice and Burnt pepper fried rice.

My friend noticed that the spelling of "pepper" is written as "paper" at the place of Burnt pepper fried rice. Don't think that there will be some paper involved in it 😜

Veg balls, Veg chowmien and Veg szechuan fried rice were appetizing. Especially Veg szechuan fried rice was very delicious and veg balls as well. This is the best Veg szechuan fried rice i ever had. Burnt pepper rice was something new I tried and it didn't disappoint me.

This is not that expensive as well. One plate of rice/chowmien will serve two people easily. I didn't get a chance to try non-veg items here. The ambiance was good but it feels like a small place. It was clean and tidy. The management of the restaurant will play nice humming songs for their customers. I really liked this.

Overall, this is a good place to try Chinese food. My personal recommendations would be Veg balls (dry) and Veg szechuan fried rice. Do try this out when you crave for good Chinese food.
Vikranth Koundinya
For the price, can you better Chinese food? Hells no! This place is great, if you know what to order and the quantity is bloody awesome. Worth your money.
Jay Swamidass
Very ordinary food. Had soup and momos. Very little seasoning. The main server could learn some hospitality essentials and put on a smile.
Skipping this place for the foreseeable future.
Manju M B
we had training & placed an order for lunch at 12.23pm & representative told me that he will be delivering the food within 45 minutes but we waited for more then 1 hour & made couple of reminder calls even though it got delayed.

Good fried rice , wonton and sweet corn soup nice place for all Chinese food we have been to this restaurant for over 3 years now the food has always been good here.
Varun Kumar
I had ordered the food by 20:40 and it was supposed to be delivered by 21:42 according to the restaurant but at 21:55 I arrived at the restaurant to check wth them so they are telling now the food is still getting prepared, it's really bad service from them v had to feed our kid also, I am never ordering or coming to this worst service restaurant again and would suggest friends to do the same

Tastes like Thai food :-) not an authentic chinese one. Tried kung pho chicken, chinese term should be gong bao ji ding. Menu showed no chinese food at all :-)

One of the best placE to get chinese cood. The .ambience is also better compared to other in the same cover charge. But could use a little polish work inside the restaurant.

Went for lunch with friends. Place can definitely have more lights. Looked very shady.
Orders Chicken soup, chicken noodles, Chicken dragon chopsuey , veg chilli garlic noodles and paneer in hunan sauce.
Food was a bit above average, though nothing was outstanding. Wasn't greasy , that is a good thing.

Food: 3.5/5
Ambience : 2.5/5
Service : 3/5

I order food from here on a regular basis.. the food here is quite affordable and good in taste.. but from past two weeks the quality of the food and the service has gone down.. i ordered for 2 fried rice and 1 veg noodles.. fried rice was soo dry and the vegetables were half cooked.. noodles was also dry.. no taste.. it was as if we were eating wheat flour.. soo pathetic.. i also ordered for veg ballz in hot garlic sauce.. i always get curry with the veg balls.. from past 2 weeks i am.getting dry veg balls.. no complimentary tomato sauce provided.. the delivery boy did not have change and when i was getting the change for him he was constantly pressuring me to hurry up.. i am soo not happy with chung's..
Ravi C.R
Don't ever order home delivery from these guys...they made us wait for an hour and later exchanged the food of another customer and returned after 20 minutes and we found they have brought only 50% of the stuff we ordered and the delivery guy asks us to eat whatever is delivered..
Nobody comes on line when we call to complain...finally we had to force him to refund and sleep without dinner...such carelesseness and behaviour
Sharavan Prakash
This is my favourite place to have Chinese cuisine. There are many dishes to try and everything is a different experience. The service and the staff is extremely good.
Mahi At Peace
Me and my group of friends were the first customers when this hotel opened way back in early 2000.. We were fans of this place for the food that he used to serve. The quality n quantity were just super.. Remember the price then was 45/-for 1 fried rice. My favorite has been hot n sour chicken soup, drums of heaven n schezwan chicken rice, lefoo rice. There was no necessity to go for a gravy along with it. It was my favorite for Good 7-10 years. Ever since the management changed, everything went for a toss. U cannot have the rice without a gravy. Even if u order with out a gravy, the rice just wouldn't get down your throat. That way u r forced to order a gravy. Nice gimmick by the management.. Price has increased three folds now... Stopped visiting.. bakwaaas.

PS - Edited Review : Thought of giving it another try and went here for dinner. I was taken aback and must say this is back to its old best!!! Post this visit, I went again 3 times and each time I loved it.. This has certainly improved and the food is back to its best!! Changing my rating to 4.
Madhusudhan Rajendra
Dingy place with Bad service.Had gone with family, as it is it is a small place with one table right next to the restroom and the other near the entrance. They also have seating arrangement in the basement which is claustrophobic. So in these kind of places the food has to be really good to compensate for the lack of good ambience, however I had a bad experience. When ordered for Meufon, the waiter mistook it for Leefon Rice and bought it.I had the same since their service is so poor,it takes ages for anything to come. When I told the manager about the same, the guy has the telemetry to tell me that next time they will give the same!
Jazz!!
Ordered koi thoi(Malaysian noodles) and schezwan fried rice.. the food was good. The service is very good too.. I would prefer this Chinese outlet over some of the Chinese outlets around Bangalore..

I have had Chinese at a number of places but the quality of taste delivered by Chung's is way better than others. I can't say about soup especially because many people have reviewed it as bad. I only order Koi Thai( Malaysian Noodles) and Meefoon( Rice Noodles). I add Szechuan sauce to make it spicy. Both theses Noodles are extremely delicious and the quality served is too much for the price. For people who don't like the taste should understand its Chinese and they are trying to make it in a different style and not adding all Indian spices to make it taste like Indian. I Highly recommend it for Chinese.
And yes the Ambiance is not very satisfactory but the food makes up for it.

Good Chinese food. Quantity is satisfactory. Decently priced. Nice ambience. The people are friendly. Service time is also decent. Washroom need a lot improvement.

This is place to close to work and have been here quite a few times. The ambience is ok-ok. Quite a large dining space on both levels, but the tables are placed a little too close to each other, so you end up hearing your neighbour's conversations :D . Its a pretty popular place, so head out early if you don't want to wait. The service is slightly slow whether its crowded or not.

Coming to the food - a variety of soups and starters are available. Their wonton soup tastes really good. Haven't tried much of their starters. Opt for the meefon or the koi Thai noodles over the fried rices. Good quantity and really well flavoured. The veg ball manchurian/ garlic sauce tastes really good. The lamb, seafood options are also good. Have to try their honey crispy noodles ice cream. Overall, a good option for reasonably priced, decent Chinese food

This place has two levels of seating. You are allowed to go to lower level when the main level is full.

Seatings are comfortable. Food tastes good. Quantities are reasonable. Taste is consistent. Ambience is average. Prices are above average but understandable considering the location.

Dim sim chilly chicken, Triple schezwan steam rice, Thai fried babycorn/chicken, are few which I usually order.

Decent Chinese food. Easy on the wallet. Fish fried rice, chicken mushroom soup, chicken momos, steamed fish and koi tai are my favourites here. Overall, good experience. Safe choice. Definitely recommended.

Finally a place to satiate my chinese food cravings. Simply loved the veg ball manchurian and the schezwan noodles. The starters and the chopseuey was lip smacking! The ambience is basic, but i really liked the service. It was fast. The restaurant is ideal for both big groups and small.

Chung's Chinese is one of those places that had been there forever. And for good reason!
the food is simply delicious and some of the best Chinese I've had in a while!
ambience is fine. service was a bit slow
Food is good but not great , they need to work on the soups , as soups are generally good at Chinese , here I found it less interesting .
Noodles weren't great either, took the dragon chowmein and it was loaded wit red sauce which reflected clear unnatural and artificial flavor.
Starters were heads up, ordered momos , spring roll and Manchurian. Satisfied with that.
Good for once a while Chinese food lovers .

Small place that has been around for many years, serves delicious Chinese food and prices are reasonable. Located in a very busy part of Jayanagar, parking is a problem.

The food here is just too good! Lip smacking! Best chinese in town i would say even though the ambience is pretty decent, the food is insane!!! Momos, basil chicken, thai chicken, noodles, chopsuey aahh 😍 best!

have been going to the place for nearly 15 years now ... good ambiance and service .... crispy chilly chicken is a must try ... and the traditional noodles and fried rice with gravy is also really good ... not expensive for the quality for service or food either ...

A pocket friendly place to eat. No compromise with the quality and perfect quantity. Checked out prawns and chicken items as well. Prawns were really amazing and fresh. Just you have to compromise with the atmosphere.

Located opp cosmopolitan club. I love their underground basement. Have visited this place many a times. Food is good. Crowded most of times.

Terrible place. Once u enter the aura of the place is too bad. All of it seems to be ina shabby condition. Table clothes remain unchanged for I guess forever. Food served is undercooked mostly. Never going back to this place.
Manager excuses himself for all the inconvenience that he is running short on staff.

Small place, easy to locate. Soup was horrible. Average food. A bit pricey for the quality of food they offer. Quite sure I won't be visiting it again. Not recommended.
Chunks Chinese corner situated in 3rd block Jayanagar is very unhygienic, clumsy. Restroom is in a pathetic condition. I faced severe stomach problems after having dinner.

This is 2 mins away from my coaching class and hence my friends and I land up here for lunch only because the service is quick and we can get back to class quickly and also because it's slightly pocket friendly compared to other restaurants on the same road.
Food is not extraordinary here but after many trial and error we have found out few good dishes and mind repeating them at emergency.
Ambience is too shady and I feel they must definitely change their lighting. We usually get our table in the basement. And that place has no ventilation and all the smell just takes a lot of time to disappear.
Service is quick as I said or may be because he sees us regularly he makes it fast.
So like us, if you land up here accidentally then it's safe to order these dishes, tried and tested and never disappoints.
Drums of heaven
Dragon rolls
Baby corn chilly
Schezwan fried rice
Dragon choupsey

Ambience - 2/5
Food - 2.5/5
Service -3/5
Price - 2.5/5

The best indo chinese we have ever had in Bangalore. We frequent this place for the last three years and we have never been disappointed. This is the only place we never think twice to try out a new dish. Our favorites are egg fried rice, thai chilly chicken and basil chicken dry. Quite easy on the pocket when compared to many other Chinese outlets like Chung Wah and Beijing bytes. This is a must go for chinese food lovers.

Horrible food.. I ordered fried rice n momos to be home delivered n they came ice cold... n the taste.. well... it was bad.. I used to go to chungs ever since I was a kid but the quality has deteriorated... I really hope that someone authorised to take care of the quality of the food reads this n brings back the taste n quality..

Have been here quite a few times. This place is just opposite to the cosmopolitan club. For anybody who likes Chinese food and for an inexpensive place, this is the place! The ambience is nice and it is inexpensive. Courteous staff; service is good too. I like their steamed chicken wontons, hunan chicken and koi thai noodles. A decent place with decent crowd :)
