Review A2b - Adayar Ananda Bhavan - Bengaluru

Khwahish Gupta
I visited this place with family on a weekend evening. We didn't struggle for both seat as well as parking, it was easily accessible. They have separate seating arrangement for Self Service and Staff service, so one can choose the preference and occupy the place. We ordered Chhole Bhature, Podi Onion Uttapam, Ginger Tea and Filter Coffee. The taste was really great (more than our expectations) and we left satisfied from that place.

This gorgeous eatery is placed at the busy junction at Arakere with a ton of IT places flooding it around and opposite IIM. Went here at peak hrs of 1 PM and the smell of ghee cleared my entire sinus. Tried the ghee pudi dosa at first. It was filled with ghee and the perfect amount of pudi. Served with 3 types of chutney and blood red sambar (just like how your mama would make it). Crispy on the outside with it more easy on the eyes. Next stop was the famous Kesari Bath . It sadly wasn't with pineapple but I guess they ran out of stock. The fridge cold lassi with thick and sweet and just what was needed to clear with pudi from the sides of my mouth. Oh and obviously how do you miss the sweet booth. The champakali was super soft and spongy with a succulent syrup that explode when grinded against your teeth. The Spl Mysore Pak was so smooth , if you'd drop a coin from the top , it'll pass right through it. Mysore Pak is a must try. Service is prompt and ambience is just what is needed for a typical South Indian eatery.

Well my rating will be 4. It was a good and nice restaurant to be in. The ambience was good and good sanitation and hygiene too. Washrooms are ok but a bit smaller for larger crowds. Food was tasty and was delivered within 15 min. They have one self - service and one service place and are separated. The restaurant was good also and the temperature was good. The guy who took the order was good and humble. Price wise it's ok which is usually ~200 per person. They have lots of options from snacks, South Indian , North Indian and even Chinese. It's a vegetarian restaurant and it's good. Location wise it's on the benerghatta main road and just beside huge hospitals like appolo, Fortis and near to IIM also. Overall a good and nice experience.

We went there 3 days before we had dinner there. We went there at 9 O'clock we didn't find the paneer and the mushroom dosa there we tried to get pongal and akki roti these things also we didn't find there. The taste is good there they are maintaining the quality of food as their others outlet bit i think they should improve the service a little bit.

Excellent food. Good taste worth the price. Especially cleanliness is maintained. Good healthy snacks available.

South indian sweets available. It is situated near Fortis hospital bannergatta. The building has both hotel and sweet shop. The hotel has self service and service. It has almost all south indian and north indian veg foods. Parking is there infront of the building. Property maintenance is good. The place is little crowded . But tables are available. We ordered masala dosa, Gheeroast, tea and coffee. Food items were oily but tasted good. The side dishes like sambar, chutney were delicious. Varieties of tasty sweets available. We bought some sweets too. They accept payment through cash, card, and mobile payment. Customer service is ok.

Restaurant is located in mid of the township. Restaurant location is best for people. Foods are very tasty and healthy. Rate is considerable. Restaurant is neat and clean. Well organised and well maintained. Staffs are active and helpful. Environment is quite calm and peaceful.

Ordered schezwan fried rice and it came a little more spicier than I would have liked, even though I informed earlier at ordering I would like it as medium spicy. But good taste overall... Cheers!!

ADYAR ANANDA BHAVAN Well known Pure Vegetarian hang out in Bannerghatta Main Road, easily accessible and a true synonym for exemplary vegetarian fare. Right from South Indian to North Indian to tandoor to Chinese everything is available at a very reasonable price....they excel at it. Had been here with my family yesterday & devoured their quintessential fare. Ordered : *Masala Dosa *Uthappam *Upma & Kesari Bath *Manchow Soup *Hot & Sour Soup *Babycorn 65 *Mushroom Tikka *Veg Biryani *Paneer Jalebi *Bhel puri *Paani Puri *Filter Coffee Each and every dish tasted good and both the quality & quantity were appreciative especially Dosa, soups and starters...Loved the distinctive taste and richness....quite delightful to the tastebuds. The dosa was the finest because it was so crisp and the chutney and sambar were just too delicious. Soups were pleasing to palate. Starters were lajawaab. And ended the meal with filter coffee...so soothing. Polite and humble staff, Reasonable prices, delectable fare, decent & spacious ambience and fast service. Parking is available in the vicinity of this restaurant. If you are in search of a good vegetarian breakfast/meal/dinner, hop in here and rest assured you are not disappointed. They are also available for delivery via Zomato n Swiggy.

We visited this A2B outlet on a Monday evening (24 Oct) and had an excellent dinner there. When we visited, the North Indian/Chinese section was closed but they offered to serve the same in the section outside. We went for sizzlers, juice and the main course. The quality of each was excellent and we had a satisfying dinner there. Considering that I had a not-so-pleasant experience with some other A2B outlets, I had some reservation before visiting, feel good about being proven wrong.

A2B a very popular south indian food outlet. It has a mix review some people like the dishes in A2B over other popular outlets in Bengaluru such as Udupi, MTR, CTR etc and vice versa. Personally I love A2B specially the Ghee roast Dosa with White pure coconut chutney and Sambhar. This place has an influence of Tamil style cuisine which is very well highlighted by the Sambhar n thickness of Dosa, people from North part of india would prefer that. This outlet is located in a prime location of Bannerghatta Road opposite to IIM n next to Fortis, which could be a probable reason for the place being crowded in general and specially over weekend, it's a must try place.

I would recommend A2B to anyone who's planning to have a quick break and some delicious food. There are separate sections for service and non-service. I had taken Masala Dosa and it was nothing special. It was decent. I saw good snack options though
Saroja Venkatesan
We ordered Masala dosa, Pongal and Vada. When we received our order there was no chutney.... only sambar was sent which spoiled our food experience.
Balaji
Worst south indian food. They have brand name and hi-fi packaging only to jack up prices. Quality and quantity are very poor. Placed a big Swiggy order and quite disappointed. Vadas were tiny & pretty hard, parathas are made like hard bread chunks, kurma was oily with less vegetables, sambar was watery, idlis & rava idlies were tiny, chapathis missed in the order, pongal & rava kichdi were served in
Sheena Justin. IG Sheenskitchen
Excellent try for vegetarians
Ms Sm
Missed noticing the worms/larvae in food. Had a really bad stomach ache lasting about 5 hours! i'll never go back to this eatery.
Mahesh Subramanian
Shocked to find lots of larvae/worms in food!
Mukesh Kumar
There is no 0 stars. They took 45 mins to prepare one plain Dosa. Worst service ever. Don't order online in A2B bannerghatta road branch
Mughil.mohanan
I ordered for onion dosa and this what I got ... Onion plus dosa... These people know to cook or what ...chi pathetic even road side food is better then this ..will never refer this place to anybody
Rasesh Bhagwati
Excellent and delicious Ghee pongal, dosas, North and South Indian dishes albeit on a higher side.

Been a regular ever since my son was 1.5 years old.
Amogh Marathe
They say they will serve Jain food but then bring your food full of onion and garlic
Satisfy Ur Cravings
My all time favourite. They don't only serve south Indian meals also serve amazing chienese food.
Ujjwal Trivedi
A good match for north indian palate.Kaju Masala is pretty decent. So is Dal Tadka. For Chinese items ask how will they be prepared to avoid surprises.

Poor delivery time
Bhasi
Idli , masala dosa ❤️
Bhadra Balraj
The food was too good.... And the self service area should be a bit more bigger so that customers can stand there and order comfortably..... The food took a lot of time to be made so I suggest waiting time should be reduced....
Otherwise the Kerala Porotta and Veg Kuruma that I ordered was more than tasty and I also ordered a parcel..... Loved it❤️❤️❤️
Ihsan
It was a great experience. The food was so good and even the snacks and bakery items were also was perfect. Even i tried A2B in different locations, all were awesome
Prasoon Kunj
Food was tasty but it wasn't 100g as per the bill
Other than this everything was fine. Delivery was on time. Please take a looks on the issue
Madhurya Ramesh
I had their family dosa. The dosa was dry. It came with three chutneys and a sambar. The green and the red chutneys were great and so was the sambar. I also had their strawberry rasgullas, paneer jalebi, pani puri and mysore pak. All were okay.
Anusha Prasad
Basically I don’t like A2B food.
We had ordered masal dose and idly and parathas.
Idly were okay but masal dosa was very bad😬
But they give ghee Kichadi which is so good! One must try this item here.
Service is okay .
Meril Antony
Tea, coffee was good. But the rava dosa I ordered was really bad. The sweet Kesari bath was extra sweet. I wouldn’t go here for breakfast again
Vikramaditya Bharatula
Whether I order 1 item or 4 items the quantity of Chutney and Sambar is always one small packet. This is really frustrating. Does A2B expect us to make our own sambar and chutney? Cannot believe they can be so stingy.
Shobana Malikarjun
Went there yesterday for lunch and was told that more than 70% of the items on the menu card were unavailable including a mini thali. Finally had to settle for thali to just agree on something as we were really hungry. Then the thali arrived with half the quantity compared to other restaurants of similar type. It was a total rip off, will never go there again!
Shraddha Kamath.
If your tastebuds long for authentic madrasi cuisine, this is a MUST VISIT.
Mini idli dipped in sambar is not worth missing...the white and green chutney accompanying this gives it a boost
The coffee served in steel cups supported with a steel bowl is heavenly and reminds of granny's coffee as old as time.
Hookaholic Foodie
The place needs to be taking for the hygiene. They are fast in serving and the taste of all there dishes are also good. But after someone is had there food and left there plates there it took them approx 15 mins to clear it even after calling again and again. The staffs remain a bit confused on the names of the sweets at the counter. The rasmalai was stale. The other items like the dosa, vada and idli were good. Not the place for sweets I guess.
Chaithra Shetty
The food is good but quite oily.
Most food items taste the same.

I am a huge fan of traditional South Indian sambhar, but the dish no longer tastes the same as A2B brand before.
Subhasri
This brand has a lot of hype around, but the food was very average. I had ordered a masala dosa and a mini idly via zomato. Sadly, the dosa was not hot and the sambar given for the idly was stale. It was a very disappointing experience. Not to mention the high price for such food.

Food: 2.5/5
Packaging: 4/5
Delivery: 4/5
Overall: 3/5
Found this insect in a glass of buttermilk !
A cockroach ! I wonder if a cockroach made it to the table, what is the condition of their kitchen !
Krutika Sant
I think u guys should write in bold letters in front of your gate ..IF YOU ARE ENTERING AFTER 10 pm BETTER NOT TO EAT ANYTHING BECAUSE WE WANT TO CLOSE AND WANT TO GO HOME ... pathetic staff and manager
Food was good ..but these kind of experience ruin the food.
ANOOP SINGH
Its a really good restaurant but cost is on a higher factor. They are good south indian dish maker but have also delivered some very good dishes like Kashmiri Pulav. Self service model is ok and dine in facility is very good. Nice ambience for dine in.
Arul
Great food and prompt service! I've had the South Indian Meals in the afternoon and it's delicious. It's a lovely place for family and friends.
Lohith
Typical South Indian place for tiffins. A safe bet to have always. when it’s hot all dishes are good to have. Mini tiffin is the best thing to try with some ghee podi dosa.
Shridhar
I had ordered paneer butter masala and biryani. I have never seen box filled with 1 inch oil at the top of curry. Worst taste not expected from reputed restaurant like A2B. Biryani was also too oily and worst quality.
Seshireddyc
Poor service they don’t care about customers
Phew I don’t have less stars than 1
They feel like they are the only option
Pathetic service I don’t visit again

We have been coming here for an yr now however their service is getting worse each passing month. Looks like these guys are not at all bothered what their customers say about them. This is my first review on Zomato and it's not on good taste. I am now sitting here ..been 20 mins already however no one came to attend. When my kid asked the attendant "uncle can you please come to my table" he came. The guy who came was unapologetic and least bothered about customer delight. Anyway it's been 30 mins already and seems my order has come now 😊
Now food time..we are already starving 😃
Rajan
Pathetic disgusting awful

No way near the exhorbitant prices they kept

Manger and waiters don’t even have basic courtesy and manners

Go there if u really wish to mess up ur food time

Completely avoidable
Navin
Had ordered plain Dosa and coffee. The plain Dosa along with the sambhar and chutneys were salty and oily. The order also took a long time. The coffee had less sugar and was not good. The prices are on the higher side and it seems we are paying for the ambience and not for quality of food.

The mini meal was good. Quantity was sufficient for 1. It had chappathi, 3 rice OEMs, sweet and fried item like papad.
Rachana Shetty
We ordered breakfast from here that was home delivered by Swiggy. The food was mediocre and far from the expectation that one has from a place like A2B. They are known to specialize in breakfasts but we'd masala dosa and puris under-cooked and stale smelling. The chill masala that should've been smeared on the dosa was also missing. Rava-idlis not satisfactory either. Wonder what happened to the quality of food here.?! 🙄😒
Tanu Tanmayi
Been there only to find out why it's crowded all the time. We thought we were missing out on some good food and landed here for breakfast.
-Hyped up place.
-Too expensive for the quantity they serve.
-Not a place to try dosa
-Only saving Grace was sambhar and variety of chutneys
Neha Prasad
Love this place for it's South Indian preparations , it's our Sunday morning breakfast destination. Softest idlies , cripy dosas, yummy chutneys , spicy sambar ,also mini tiffin is a complete delight with kesar bath and pongal made in ghee. Each and every preparation is just so perfect which keeps us coming back for more .
Archana
Food is okayish and priced economically. But not the cleanest of places. Found a worm on my plate. The staff tried to explain it away saying that it was from the banana leaf. Avoid and go to the cleaner outlets
Does not need much introduction as it is a famous chain of restaurants. Decent place, price and service. Mini tiffin is something we normally go for as we live to have variety for break-fast. Parking is a bit challenging especially on weekends. In terms of quality it is slightly reduced compared to the time when it was started. The savoury items are nice, I highly recommend to try 'Kaju Pakodi' .

Order from A2B - Adyar Ananda Bhavan.
Placed on 7th Oct at 08:51 AM.
#1330279484 still not delivered now time is 11:30 am . Don't order ... I am not able to cancel

Ambiance - 3.5/5
Taste - 3.5/5
Staff - 4.5/5
Cost - 3/5

This place lives up to the A2B name. It's a really nice place, well spaced out (open) and has good ventilation. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and well lit. The food tastes really good, especially the parota, sandwich and the pongal.
The only issue, in my opinion, is the value for money. I feel that the food served, for the taste and quantity, isn't worth as much as it is priced at. The portions are quite small.
We always have delicious and piping hot dishes every time we visit A2B. Fantastic Bisibelabath, Mushroom Rice and A2B Mini Meals and much more recipes that you should definitely give a try. The food quality is good and we guys enjoyed the service
Saileshshetty
Have been regular to this place .Generally find their breakfast item good and tasteful . But over the time their quality & taste seems to be dropping . The Pongal was quite watery & reminded / tasted more of kichidi .
Sarkari
This is again a typical A2b experience in terms of south Indian food
But North Indian remains elusive in terms of taste and price
Service is one area where this chain has to bring lot of expertise as they should understand that when people pay above average price they have expectations
Girish Pai
Coffee is top class...i have not tasted such a coffee anywhere else in Bangalore. other than that most of items are just ok but the prices are very high for a south Indian fast food items.

Went there a few days after Independence day. So I could see the spirit of the colours of the flag. But the colours don't merge in the flag either..so why should the chutnies merge. The staff refused to serve it in a cup " as per management order". Wonder what prevented them from using plates with divisions then. Bad presentation.

Food was good.. amazing taste.. kesaribath was rich and irresistible..
CuppyCupFoodie
Ordered South Indian Thali and North Indian Thali. Both tasted good..

North Indian Thali starts with tomato soup n papad.. Then comes (tandoor Roti with 2 subzi), (veg biryani n Raita), curd rice, salad n 2 small gulab-jamuns. All in all it was a good North Indian Thali at a South Indian restaurant. 😎😜

In South Indian Thali u get paratha with number of curries.. Once you finish paratha. It is followed by hot steamed rice with ample amount of ghee to it.

Both the Thali were value for money..
Manish L
Food taste is inconsistent. One day is good..next day totally stale food. Have been visiting at least once a week over last one month.
Service guys are hopeless. Ladies serving there are better and responsible. Food is most of time not hot.
Ritvik Singh
Best place to visit with family. Good food taste, but service is slow. Amazing south Indian foods as well as few north Indian food. I liked chilli baby corn..must try.😋
Nevin
I don't recommend this hotel to any one. Unfortunately I end up going there sometime due to limited vegetation option available in around that place. Though the break fast items are reasonably ok, the other food items are too spicy. Even if you tell them to give with less spicy, they will ignore. They put so much of pepper on the food such that water will come from your eyes when you eat. Even if you tell them ahead of ordering also, they will repeat it. I have complained it to the manager multiple times and they are least bothered. They will come up with some excuses. It happened to me so many times which made me write this review.

I ordered a south Indian meal and I am very disappointed with the quantity of food we have recieved .😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔
You request to deliver in bannergatta road they will go to Btm for the delivery..they screwed my happiness by making me waited waited.

I was here multiple times over the last few weeks. Located bang on BG road close to IIM campus and next to Fortis this place is crowded most of the times. Place offers car park which is limited. It has both self service and service sections.
Menu has standard south Indian fare and the service section inside has North Indian as well. I have tried only the south options on the menu and would have admit the place disappoints with most of the items especially for the price. When they ran out dahi for the dahi vada the staff at the counter just used sweet lassi. It was terrible. The dosas are very average.
If you are looking for tasty food this place will definitely disappoint you.

There is no enough place for parking. And the food delivery gets delayed much. The billing queue can be reduced by billing fast or opening one more billing person.

Very average food for the way it is priced!

This place requires no introduction per say, but with the inclusion of this branch it has opened up a huge option for the breakfasts ( if looking for an authentic south indian one ) .
[FOOD] : This brand being from tamil nadu the taste varies with a spicer side and tangier too with oodles of ghee which is anyday heart warming. All of their breakfast item are worth trying be in the rava dosa which is very crispy ( i guess they serve the best rava dosa in the city ) , on looking for a rice item the pongal is yummier even . I did visit this place during lunch hours and i was amazed with their north indian items as well . Now i would not promise that the taste is completely as that of a north but trust me you wont complain as well. The paneer butter masala is bit of a sweeter side but the dal makhni which won my heart. The roti served is crispy yet soft . Another thing which is highly recommendable is their north indian thali which is comes with roti , veg biryani, one dal , two gravies , raita , curd rice , papad and a very yummy sweet for the dessert.
[ SERVICE] : Though most of the staff prefers to converse in kannada but are equally welcoming when spoken in hindi , very cordial and the service is done very very fast .
[VALUE FOR MONEY] : If looking for a veg place for any part of the day or the odd hours when getting food served in many places becomes tough this place still welcomes you with a wide smile ,hence highly recommendable .

Quantity varies case to case. Not satisfied with quality and quantity. Very few varieties in the curry. Thay have provided Only one roti and it's called north indian combo!!! Great !!!

Went there craving for Masala dosa with authentic chutney and some kesari bath.

Went to the outlet on bannerghatta Road, chose to sit in self service section. Took Rava masala dosa, kesari bath and Pomegranate juice. Overall the ambience is nice. People are nice. Service was quick. Taste was not extravagant but not bad as well. Loved the 3 different varieties or Coconut chutney served along with dosa. Nice outlet for family outing. Will try again soon. Would rate 3.5 but Zomato doesn't allow precision ratings anymore.

I regularly order from this restaurant through Zomato, but in my recent order last Sunday (3 Jun 2018) they made a terrible mistake.

I had clearly mentioned "No capsicum" in the special instructions of the order as I'm allergic to it. However, the dish delivered was full of capsicum. Also, the dish ordered was "Shahi Paneer" but in the bill delivered by the restaurant, it said "Kadai paneer". Even if we consider that as a typing mistake (since the prices of both are the same), it does not excuse the fact that 50% of the dish was full of capsicum.

I wrote to Zomato support as well about this mistake and dropped them a reminder, but still waiting for a response from them since 5 days. So now left with no option other than to write it here.

Very disappointed, especially when you are a long time customer of a service/ restaurant, and then have to go through this.

Had ordered sweet Pongal and ghee Pongal. Two portions of ghee Pongal was delivered.
