Review Bangalore Cafe - Bengaluru

We went for a New Year dinner and ordered Chicken Steak with Honey Mustard Sauce and Alio e aglio basil pesto pasta and both tasted amazing. The steak was too good with proper roasted veggies, mashed potatoes and bread. The ambience is good, pricing is okay, not over-priced and the taste was bang on. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Amazingly delicious food. Keema pao I had here was one of the best I have ever gad anywhere. Four of us ordered different veg and non veg dishes, coffees and drinks and everyone was more than happy with the food quality and taste. Service is excellent. Prices reasonable. Would recommend wholeheartedly.

Amazing ambience and location. Right in front of Ulsoor lake. Food and beverage options are great. I tried the Chicken Lasagna, though the quanitiy was little, it tasted amazing. Service could have been better. I had to go and fetch myself a menu card. Also, after food waited for 15 mins and nobody seemed to care to get the bill, so went and informed the barista and still after 5 mins nobody got it for me. So there is huge scope of improvement there.
Sukanya Sudhakar
The food was absolutely exceptional. Each dish was crafted with precision and bursting with flavor. The menu offered a wide range of options, from enticing starters to decadent desserts. Been going here from the time the place opened and nothing has changed service and taste wise.

We just went here after passing ulsoor lake its right in front of it, we were hungry and just wanted to have a good food after entering the cafe i was very skeptical how the food will be as the vibes were dull. Ordered risotto, hazelnut frappe and chilli cheese toast, the order came fast enough and it was surprisingly very very delicious. Had the best frappe and risotto was delicious just perfect. Giving food star full 5 on 5 only sad thing was the ambiance it was pretty dull. Little off vibes i guess they should do something about the decor but highly recommend for the food

Great peaceful ambience & lovely food. We had lunch here, I'm a vegetarian so I ate potato wedges & veg burger, while my friend ate chicken peri peri steak. We absolutely loved it. The flaourless chocolate cake is a must try, it melts in your mouth. I wish to come here again for breakfast some time or to just relax some evening

Its a well designed small cozy place with both indoor and outdoor seating. The place is right opposite to the lake though you don’t really get the lake view. Food is good with options to choose from both in vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Decent pricing for the quantity and quality. The staff are courteous, well dressed and well mannered too.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Kaara Cafe on multiple occasions, and each time I have been greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff and the owner are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. The menu at Kaara Cafe offers a variety of delectable treats, and I have had the opportunity to try a few of them. One standout recommendation that I received was the cocktail samosas, and they did not disappoint. The combination of flavors and spices in the samosas was delightful, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Most recently, I decided to try the corn and cheese tarts, and I must say they lived up to my expectations. The tarts were perfectly baked, with a crispy crust and a delicious filling of corn and cheese. It was a delightful combination that left me wanting more. When it comes to beverages, Kaara Cafe has some excellent options. My personal favorite is the Irish frappe. It's a rich and creamy coffee-based drink with a hint of Irish flavor that adds a delightful twist. Another recommendation from the staff was the strawberry and banana smoothie, and I found it to be refreshing and packed with fruity goodness.

Absolutely lovely place with the tastiest of food. Lot of options to eat as well. The place has a good ambiance though the cafe looks small its pretty decent and welcoming . If I talk about the taste of the food I love every thing here. Price is also reasonable.

Amazing pet friendly place! And a lovely place to unwind. It is a great café by the lake they have both outdoor & indoor seating I loved the outdoor seating the most. The food was amazing, we ordered for Peri Peri Fries, Green Thai Curry Rice & Strawberry smoothies. The service is good and so are the staff. I will come back again to try some coffee and desserts.

It was just a stop for me, didn't explore much of menu, just spiced Latte and it was good. Friendly staff. Good ambience, simple. Both inside and open sitting options available. Parking seems to an issue as it is located just next to a busy crossroad. Right across front road, lake is there. Probably will visit again sometime.

Amazing pet friendly place! Awesome food, we went for brunch and had the set breakfasts... so good! Also the caramel peanut butter milkshake is simply decadent and amazing! The key lime pie has a wonderfully crumbly buttery crust and nice tart filling. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed his sausages and bask in the sun. The view of ulsoor lake is an added bonus. All in all a lovely morning spent!

Well maintained little cafe near by lake. This place offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Had a snack time here. Felt bit costly but food was good.

A great place to unwind. Beautifully kept restaurant and aesthetically one of the best places I have been! Great job done 👍. Food :- menu is a bouquet of hand picked good dishes ( unlike 100 dishes on the menu and restaurants telling them they are not available or stocked out). Recommend food:- Soups:- tomato basil soup the Portion and taste is beautiful and comes with a crisp garlic toast on the side Mains:- Penne Alfredo veg:- creamy, rich tossed with zucchini and veggies.. a must try Veg lasagne:- wonderful ... The sauce, the pasta.. beautifully dished in a cast iron pan the lasgne was hot till the last bite with oodles of cheese... Simply awesome Hot dog:- the mustard sauce is the hero... And I really love it 🤠 Service:- you may have to wait depending on the crowd as the food did take 15mins to reach. What makes you feel special is the owner walking over to each table, taking time to meet her customers, speaking about the specials of the day which otherwise could have been done by the manager... This makes a big difference, thank you...Ms. Radha..

Came for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Ordered bbq chicken & grilled veg sandwich. Both were nicely done. Followed by iced cafe & kiwi strawberry smoothie. Very delicious. The potato wedges were also very crispy & tasty. The service was managed well despite the weekend rush.

A great little cafe near the lake. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating, both of which were immaculately clean. Consider coming to this place at around seven in the evening when the lake park is closed. The coffee and desserts here are top-notch. And the ambience combined with the view of the lake is very soothing. The outdoor seating is pet friendly from what I could tell, that’s always a bonus.
Lalith Kumar
A nice restaurant by the lake, though you don’t get a perfect view for the same. Has indoor and outdoor seating well maintained and pleasant decors which makes the place to relax. You also get very good food to much on with your loved ones. The staffs were so courteous for their customers and make you feel comfortable for the ambience. I didn’t find a negative thing to point out- was fully satisfied with the dining experience.

This place is very good for unique and different experience. This cafe is located inside a garden I really like the place . I ordered raw papaya item and suprisingly it was really good. I will visit this place for food and ambience again
Pooja Prasad
Ordered a corn and cheese sandwich. The fries were delicious. The sandwich was average. The salad was and coffee tasted amazing. Overall the service was fast for the coffee but the rest of the items took time. I will be visiting this cafe again to have the coffee, fries and salad once more.

This place is recommended for those who want to have good food and just relax .
Service is kind of homely and they are very good.
Price is so affordable and food tastes good although there is no much variety.
They have special menu for the day on their blackboard.
They have nursery and an apparel shop too.
Nice place to go out with kids and friends.
They have cute decorations made out of natural stuffs.
Good ambience :)

All time favorite ! It's right next to my office, so a every time lunch visit... The owners are very friendly and every dish prepared here is fresh and delicious. You may just come here with friends to chill or get your laptop and sit for hours working and eating. Next to a nursery and facing a lake, just the ideal Cafe to relax... Limited menu and seating but the food is definitely worth the visit.

Cafe Cerrise - cafe in a nursery is a very interesting concept who likes outdoor cafes and greenery. I was mesmerized by the variety of colorful plants in the nursery and I wished I could take some home. Not to miss a small shop inside the house which has jewelries, saris and few other handmade stuffs for sale.

Cafe is serene, bright and green. As it was a lazy day to go to office, I decided to hop cafes and complete my work . To my surprise, I saw few other tables with people working on their laptop. I ordered fish grill with salsa which was pretty good. Fish was fresh and the sauce was perfect for my taste buds. I ordered that day's special - Mango juice which had tinge of chilly sauce. Though I am not a fan of spicy food, this drink took me by surprise. It had a perfect balance of sweetness of fruit and spice of chilly. Staff was very courteous.

I would definitely visit this place again for the ambiance, calmness and the courteous staff.
Sainath Thalatam
Perfect cozy place to hangout with your friends, parents or grandparents. You can also buy a potted plant. The presentation is beautiful. The taste of food and beverages were good. Nice place to grab a coffee after a long day.

I had gone to this place on the side of Ulsoor lake. It is a very serene place with a lot of greenery nearby. I ordered a sandwich and a lime soda. The food was okay.
Mayuri Nidigallu
Tucked away on the premises of a bunglow facing Ulsoor Lake, this cafe is surrounded by flowering greens, as a Nursery shares space.
Chequered Pink table cloths add a pop of color to the all wood and wrought iron interiors.
Really wish the food had lived upto the place though. The Shredded Chicken in Creamy Pepper sauce was bland and underdone when I first got it.
I sent it back, to get a fully cooked one, which was still bland.
My husband ordered their special, 'Mango Fish Curry with Rice' The curry was bland and watery and why was coleslaw served as an
accompaniment, is a mystery.
Not sure what the issue was, but we did not enjoy our lunch at all.
Sandeep Das
A cosy place just besides the Ulsoor lake and admist flora and fauna ( situated inside a nursery). Service is quick and just the right place to spend some time in peace and tranquility. Food options are good enough . I had a steak and salad . Cold coffee is a good bet . Juices also available
Gautham Kumar
A nice laid back garden themed cafe selling food, handicrafts and plants. Food is okay and the rating of 4 is given for their Vietnamese cold coffee
Sandhyagopinath7
Absolutely love this place. Set amidst a nursery, you are surrounded by plants and sheltered away from the outside world. The food is good and has a menu that works well on your pocket. The service is prompt and the cafe has a feel good peaceful vibe, which is great for long conversations, and a place to just basically chill and unwind.
Ayesha Sultana
i wish there was a zero .. to rate.. horrible service and food... the palce is great.. but food is just horrible.. my kid makes better pasta.. teh service was the pace of a snail

Bright and happy potted flowers lured us into Cafe Cerrise, and the food kept us there!
A small cafe nudged into what looked like an erstwhile home, the place is packed with greens and blooms. With their quirky little menu and fun presentation of something as generic as cold coffee, this place is great for long hours of conversations! The panna cotta comes highly recommended.
Arpita Aditi
If you are looking to spend some quality time at some place serene, this is the place you should be heading to. They might be slower at their service but the ultimate beauty of the place drives you to ataraxia.
The food they serve is spot on and goes perfectly right with the ambience.
Kristen
I have past by this cafe many times and what always caught my attention was the beautiful potted flowers. I ate there recently only to realise the cafe is located in a little space at the corner of nursery.
The cafe might not be much to look at just a few wooden benches and which are run down but because of the beautiful flowers all around you feel very cosy and like amidst nature.
The ambience is cosy the decor nothing to speak of and the service runs very very slow and sometimes we had go in the kitchen and get someone out to place an order but amongst all this the surprise element is the food is actually good.
Their deserts are a safe bet I have tried a few and found each one to be delicious and for the main I'd recommend the chicken in mushroom sauce.
So If you're looking food good food at decent prices and willing to forego other things then this is the place to try.

I loved this place, quite and composed the way I like. I love their special cold coffee but i would suggest to hv something more interesting in menu. But still i wud love to go here anytime.

A place to visit for sure, amazing ambience, good food and very friendly staff. The greenery around the cafe doesn't hurt one but infact it's adds quite a charm. The Vietnamese coffee is brilliant along with the key lime pie. These two things on the menu are an absolute home run. The main course is quite nice as well.

Ulsoor has no ends for tiny cafés, but this one was even smaller than expected. The place is cramped and during a weekday lunch, the staff is non existent and lazy. Though small, the décor is nice and they have a collection of comics to read from.

Parking may turn out to be a problem as is the case for any place around Ulsoor lake.

Their menu is limited, but the food had been tasty. The fries and pasta especially lived upto standards.

The food isn't all that expensive, certainly worth a quick lunch or snack deal on the go.
Anshumali Baruah
A quaint, little cafe :)

Tried out this place on a Sunday afternoon. The food is quite good. Started with a cup of undeniably the best Vietnamese coffee in town. It's a must try! I ordered some chicken stew, which was also delicious. And ended my meal with a banofee pie, which was also well-made.

The pricing is not very heavy on the pocket. And the service is brilliant. However, since it's an open space, mosquitoes are quite a problem in the evenings.

It's an ideal spot to hang out with friends and family.
Apoorva
Nice ambience with a nursery and boutique right next to the cafe. They also have a wide collection of comics to read from. Friendly staff and quick service. The food was delicious. Reasonable price for the taste and ambience. Worth trying.

Casual, Cozy and cute café in the compound of Ambara boutique. Perfect to catch up with friends, or chill after shopping, or just relax with a book.
There is a beautiful green garden/ nursery next to it.

Food is good. Desserts are simply Perfect.
Service is great. The owner and the girl who serves (don't feel like calling waitress) are really pleasant and warm. Everytime I visit, I feel so peaceful and relaxed.
Wish the place was closer, I would have made it my rendezvous :)

After reading reviews in zomato me and my friend had been to this cafe last weekend. It was very worst experience.

Service : People who came after us eat and left but still we were not even served with starters.
We ordered Green mango fizz but they gave watermelon juice.

Food : For starters we had ordered chicken nuggets and we got hair in that dish.
Next comes Grilled fish with salsa and Prawn curry with rice. Again horrible taste, curry was too spicy which we could not eat at all and fish was overcooked.

Ambience: The seating was outdoor and next to our table we saw more than 3 lizards which was very scary for me ;( People were smoking there itself. It was horrible to eat food with that smell.

We did not eat anything properly we just paid the bill and left. It was not at all worth visiting this place. Never had such a worst experience before. Will never visit this place again.

Go to this place if you need sometime to relax, may be finish a book or friendly chat with one of your friends. Great outdoor seating, homely food and the chef even customized something for us :) Loved it, will go back again...

The cafe is setup inside nursery with lots of plants and really relaxing environment. It's very quite place. Best to sit and finish your favorite book. It's an ideal place to catch up with a friend do chit chat or for date. No disturbance at all. Food is simple and reasonable cost. Overall it was a good experience. I will definitely go again.
Cezanne
Perfect place to have an enjoyable cup of coffee after shopping for plants at the nursery or some vintage-handmade assembles and ethnic accessories, all three located within the same compound. Cafe cerrise offers some of better tasting key lime pie in the city.
Sunethra Mahidhar Thorve
Cafe Cerrise shares it's premises with an Indo-American botanical garden/nursery and a store. The seating at this cafe is completely outdoor and a win.

I had the Cherry Tomato, Olive and Basil with Spaghetti and the Chocolate Mousse.

I would compare the food and service of the cafe to comfort(food) and being laid back(service)

It gives you the perfect experience of your presence being in a cafe and not at a restaurant.

Based on the LBB's list of cafes with ambience in Bangalore, I got here last weekend. This cafe is setup inside a nursery with lots of potted plants and easy relaxed vibe with basic chairs and tables.

The good and basic things ended here. The service is extremely slow, and the food was below par. The salads lacked flavour, the sauce in the pasta was runny, same was the case with a curry we ordered. consistency/ thickness is something they definitely lacked.

Overall it was one disappointing experience. Probably because the place wasn't running in
capacity, and for this place is located in not-so-busy location, but quality of food needs improvement. I was surprised Cafe cerisse was even suggested in LBB.
Saniya Farahath
This can totally be my go-to place! It's a garden+boutique+café. It's not too expensive, the owner (i think she's the owner) is SO friendly, there's a super adorable cat which you can play with while you wait for you food.
Coming to the food. We ordered:
Mozerella and cherry tomato salad, coffee, layered mascaporne. So, the food isn't mind blowing amazing, but it's good enough. Must go for the ambience and peace. Oh and did I mention there is a cat?

Been to this place a couple of times. Tasted a good number of dishes. Good garden ambience and a friendly owner. But being located on the main road, furniture and other things appear to be a little dusty.

But no complaints on the food front. Salads and sandwiches are fresh, crunchy and fillling. Had the roast chicken salad and sausage, omelette, cheese and tomato sandwich, served with crispy fries.

Had the shredded chicken in creamy pepper sauce pasta. White sauce pastas as it is are not too flavorful and spicy and this was even more bland.

Even tried the grilled chicken steak with mushroom sauce, served with rice if asked for, and the grilled curly pork sausage with mashed potato. Both flavorful and tasty but little small in portion and heavy on the price.

They have good options for desserts. Love the creme brulé here.

Good place to catch up even for evening tea and snacks.

Great place, its a bunglow house converted into a nurcery+antique shop+cafe. The plant collection in the nurcery is amazing and food also is great

It's got a great location in the garden and outside the store Ambara, which is lovely. This used to be a lovely place for a casual meal but my latest experience was a definite dampener.
Ordered the grilled chicken with mushroom sauce. Quite nice, cooked well & was enjoying it till I turned over the lettuce in the accompanying salad & found a dead insect there. Told the girl who was serving us & she apologised & offered to bring me more salad which I refused. Now I get that this is in a garden & it is summer & there are insects around, but they need to be a lot more careful about how they store their food. Also the owner was sitting quite close by & she did'nt bother to come by & apologise. Just a smile & a sorry would have been fine. Just indifferent I guess.
My husband ordered the basil pesto pasta. It was a bit mushy & bland. Not bad not great. No bread is served on the side.
The hummus, as previous reviewers have mentioned, is served with untoasted pizza base, although it is mentioned as pita bread in the menu. This casual attitude , where it is assumed that people don't know the difference, is what is most annoying.
Sriram Iyer
Nestled in a quiet corner besides the beautiful Ulsoor lake, this cafe should remain hidden from the public eye for its own good. The nursery, the exotic ethnic lifestyle store "Ambara" and Cafe Cerisse merge together to create an ambience which has the charm of laid back Bangalore of yore. The only dampener is the constant traffic noise which is so loud at times that one has to shout to be heard across the table.
Food preparations are simple yet delicious. Portion sizes are appropriate for one person. There are some interesting dessert options as well.
An ideal cafe to catch up with a friend or romance with your date. The store next door can burn a hole in your pocket though :)
Kishore Sai
This outlet is nicely located amidst plant boutique 'Ambara'. Lot of greens. Outdoor seating. Been here multiple times for meetings. Food and beverages are average. Can definitely improve upon staff responsiveness. Service is too lethargic. Place can be kept little bit cleaner.

I was once there when it was raining heavily. The roof was broken at places that it was leaking and the water was clogged in the pipe that it was overflowing through the sides and splashing on the tables. Very bad experience.
Aparna Revanth
It was a cozy place with delicious food. Starters and main course items which we tried out were value for money. Dessert was extremely delicious. Will visit the place again

Was here for a lunch once with my colleagues and was excited to try it out considering the good feedback a few of them had about the place.

Ambience (4/5)
The best selling point for this cafe. They have a beautiful nursery where you could do your garden purchases from as you enter. The green and colourful plants are a big boost for the restaurant ambience and a 3 odd feet passage leads you to the cafe area.

Despite the sunshine and open seating, the place had a comfortable temperature. The seating and dining arrangements were moderate and not the most appealing.

Pricing (3/5)
Their pricing is reasonable. And a 3 course meal for 2 would cost you less than INR. 1000

Service (3/5)
Their food takes a while to be served and if you are in a hurry, its best to place the orders before you arrive (I was told they entertain that).

Food (1.5/5)
We tried the following:
1. Humus and peta bread - well what was served as peta bread tasted like a pizza base (bun). Humus was quite ordinary as well.

2. Chicken pakodas - was an average dish and was basically chicken fried in corn flour.

3. Thai green curry - half the crowd ordered this and there was a special request from all to keep the spice levels moderate.

What we got was an excessively spicy thai curry, t lacked the density or flavour that you expect from thai curries.

At this point I started regretting why we chose this place.

5. Thai red curry
My friend who had this liked it.

6. Stewed Chicken and peppers with rice
With an overdose of tomato, this dish was a totalt failure for me.

As an overall comment on the curries, all of them lack the thickness and flavour.

7. White sauce pasta
With a good load of toppings this was among the better orders.

Desserts (3.5/5)

8. Banoffee pie
The saving grace from the visit, the banoffe pie was delectable. With a fine crust and balance portions of toffee, bananas and cream - this was quite good.

6. Pannacota
A dessert I usually avoid. This was however decent and I am not sure if that is because of the poor food we had before it:
Nice Ambience. A Good place to hang out with friends. Feels like sitting at a your own garden and enjoy a delicious treat. Must to visit

A cute quiet cafe in the neighbourhood. Perfect for reading a book and drinking coffee at. Their banoffee pie is incredibly delicious and definitely worth a try,

I adore this café! The setting is quaint and artistic, the food is warm and yum and the staff is brilliant! The decor captivates you in its minute details eg: the spoons are gorgeous, a steaming mug of tea arrives on a wooden coaster and a multitude of bottles growing money plants hang from a trellis.
I regularly go here to hang out with my friends and always get the watermelon juice. Its freshly made and contains with a sprig of coriander to enhance the flavours. I've also tried the guava fizz and liked it. The lemon tar is my go to dessert here. The pastry is beautifully made and the lemon curd has just the right amount of sweetness.
The potato and cheese croquettes are absolutely yum! and the grilled fish with salsa is a great way to wrap up lunch!

It's a beautiful Garden restaurant in garden city! Beautiful ambience with a nursery to begin with followed by souvenir shop and a small cafe. It's open sitting arrangements is nice. We had
Cold coffee - tastes average
Vietnamese cold coffee - tastes yummy n different
Guava spicy fizz - average
Watermelon shake - good
Pasta in white sauce - okayish
Quesadillas- okayish
Pasta with tomato n Basil's - good
Overall nice ambience n decent food.

I went here for a Saturday lunch and to catch up with a friend. It was just the perfect place !! It's nearly tucked away behind nursery so it's green and lush around you...we had the iced lemon tea, potato and cheese sticks, the pasta with bacon in a white sauce and a Cous Cous salad.... Full marks to all the items esp the starter...the service is also very prompt...the only problem with this place is the noise from the road...actually it's not a problem with the cafe, it's a problem that we face everywhere in Bangalore....unnecessary honking....if not for that, I would give this place a 5.....waiting to go back !

Visited for: lunch,
ordered: basil pesto pasta + prawn pepper curry w/ rice.
Food: thoroughly disappointing
Ambience: soothing.
Recommends: for a laid back early evening visit, as the ambience is more apt for a warm candle lit dinner than for a lunch.
Takeaway: promises for a good evening experience barring the traffic noise. One could also browse the unique collection of orchids and cacti from the nursery along with home decor and fabrics (sarees) from the co-located ambara store.

This place has the looks of an European Garden Cafe and is nestled in a plant nursery right in front of the Ulsoor Lake. The decor is simple and the rustic wooden furniture adds charm. An ideal place for a romantic meal with your loved one. The menu was designed like a small black board used by kids in school eons back. The menu was again simple.

Our order was for the cous cous salad,Hummus pita bread, creamy pasta,Thai red curry and a chocolate mousse cake. For quenchers we opted vietnamese cold coffee and fizzy guava mocktail.

We had the honor of the owner herself serving us.The pita and salad were served first. The salad was so fresh and tasted delicious. The hummus was excellent with pita. The penne pasta in white sauce was a hit.The quantity seemed a bit low but was quite filling. Thai red curry and rice was the usual fare and it was a bit spicy as expected. The mousse cake was smooth and gone in seconds. The guava mocktail was okayish and lacked the punch but the coffee was good. We strolled around the nursery and took pics as we enjoyed our meal.

The place was serene and quiet but for the traffic sounds from the road nearby. A lovely way for winding up a lazy afternoon. The prices seemed a bit on the higher end.All these cost close to 1100.

What an amazing little cafe! I stepped in to buy plants and ended up eating as well! Their guava fizz drink is sublime and the chicken nachos are really good. Definitely worth a visit to anyone who hasn't been and if you like all things organic this is where you should go and spend a relaxed afternoon.

Lovely leisurely afternoon lunch at café cerrise. The portions are not extraordinarily large but was satisfying. The shepherds pie was nicely done with the salad on the side. My son quite enjoyed his omelet sausage cheese and tomato sandwich while my aunt found the horsegram soup tasty. You can admire the plants while you wait for the food which is served in a typically unhurried manner.

Happen to drive by this place, decided to drop in. The cafe is neatly settled inside a plants boutique. Not an elaborate setup as such but a nice homely decor. From what it seems, it looks like a family business serviced by the lady and her daughters.

Food: I ordered some Chicken Quesadilla and Musk Melon cooler. The quesadilla was just average, not something you would despise neither something that'll tickle your palate. The melon cooler was good! :)

Overall, a decent place. Good for weekend snacking.

I wish I lived closer to this place. The food is fresh, delicious and there's quite a variety. I had a very good sandwich with cucumber, tomato and cheese and a very unique drink, the fizzy spicy guava mocktail. Cafe Cerrise really couldn't be in a more beautiful location, shielded from traffic in a lovely garden setting. And pre or post lunch you can go shopping for unique clothing, handicrafts and home items at the Ambara boutique next door or take home some plants for your own garden from the nursery.

This little place is almost like a secret garden tucked away in the heart of the city. This place actually has a nursery attached to it, so you feel like you are sitting in a garden. The open atmosphere adds charm to this place.

The one thing you must have here is the Vietnamese cold coffee and try any of their desserts. They are to die for.

I have tried the Hummus and Pita bread, quesadillas, Pastas and salads here and they are all good. The dishes and drinks are serves in quaint plates and glasses which adds to the experience. This is an ideally place to hang out in the afternoon with friends or just sit and read a book. It's quiet and serene and the owner and staff are friendly.

I only wish it was open for longer hours and on all days of the week.

Don’t judge a book by its cover goes an old saying. Similarly, don’t judge this place by it’s size or the location. Not only is it a very beautiful and serene place, the food is quite delicious too. The owner who takes the orders personally adds a charm with her beautiful smile and her politeness. Been here a couple of times now and it’s amazing. The beef steak has a very different yet brilliant taste. Not too well done, yet not too undercooked either –just the perfect amount. The chicken nuggets are quite a treat too. A must-try if you are a non-veggie lover. And the best at the end, the dessert- the chocolate mousse is mouth-watering delicious . Another striking and touching part about this place is the 3% contribution from the bill amount to the underprivileged. Do try this place if you are looking for a nice calm conversation with a loved one over a scrumptious lunch.:-)

To begin with the owner of this place is why this cafe is a favorite amongst its customers. She adds a warmth to this place and does not mind taking your orders personally and serving on the table. You can customise your orders as you like and also if you don't like you may share your thoughts with her. Great ambience, Good food, Reasonably priced. Desserts & sandwiches and Masala tea are my favorite. Must visit.

This place reminds me of small European garden cafe with lot of greenery and flowers around. The ambiance is very soothing and gives a very relaxed feel to the whole place.I liked the water serving bottles , the napkin box , sandwich serving wooden platters to name few .They all remind of my days spent in Europe.
You can easily spend hours sipping cup of coffee / mock tail with a sandwich alone or with someone special or even for a business discussion.
The service is relaxed but not slow.If you pay by card, they charge you 2% extra but good thing is there are no extra taxes. We had ordered a 4 different varieties of a sandwich namely Mexican veg ; Omelette & cheese; sausage & cheese and Tomato Cucumber veg along with a following drinks.
- Cold Coffee , Iced Lemonade, Green Mango Fizz and Filter coffee. My rating : - Ambiance 3.5- Food 3.5- Service 3.5 ***Must have : sandwiches & Iced Lemon tea. +++ You must try this place !!

oh what a glorious lil place - your own little Eden!

we tried the : Thai green curry and rice (chicken) - perfect and hearty with a deep dash of spice that leaves you wanting more.

The spinach and veggie bake - so beautifully flavoured and not overly cheesy. the platter was wiped clean - seriously, no need to wash it!

The chicken breast with mushroom sauce - juicy chicken with just the right amount of sauce. they give you more on the side instead of dousing the whole thing with sauce.

dessert was banoffee pie, for once someone got the sweetness right, most places leave you with a tooth ache. the sweetness was JUST right.

the portions and potions used are perfect, the place is lovely. I'm going back tomorrow.

Took friends out here. Everything we ordered was superb, and we ordered many dishes. The outdoor setting among the plants was nice. Keep in mind the portions are small
IF and only IF you were located a building or two inward of your location, you would have become the best cafe to hang out in !!
Yes Cafe Cerrise, The Main Road is killing the experience which u would like ur guests to bathe in.....
Located close to bustling plants, flowery pots n the fresh smell of mother earth, This place is BANG ON Annaswamy Mudaliar Road .
Been here 3 times now, and have enjoyed the coffee and sandwiches each time , no doubt ! But no matter how good ur company is when u visit this place, the Booming Traffic makes a loud PEEEM PEEM , POOO POOO or PAEEEEEEEIN .....and makes u regret sitting there !

Cafe Cerrise is set amidst Ambara (what I believe is a sophisticated version of a nursery, showcasing some beautiful and exotic plants including bonzai and cacti). Situated opposite Ulsoor Lake, Cerrise is one of those places that has a REALLY cozy, soft and romantic ambiance. We dropped by for lunch, and found it so beautiful, and wondered how intimate it could get towards dusk or dinner time.

I went with the intention of devouring the salads, as I decided to detox for a few days ( every foodie needs a detox routine, for the amount we eat ;) ). Took the apple-walnut salad, and watermelon-feta cheese salad.
The apple walnut salad was tasty, and the watermelon salad was an absolute delight to the taste buds. Loved both of them as normal salads, but unfortunately, the main ingredient in both salads was lettuce, and not apple/watermelon. Found only traces of the main ingredients and that disappointed me despite the great taste. Honestly, I felt like I was consuming lettuce salad.
My suggestion to the management - Please include the main ingredient as at least 50-60% of the salad, and not as a meager 20% like we were served. Though you won our hearts with the taste, the nature of dish disappointed me.
My friend picked tomato-basil pasta, and it was quite good ( became even better after our usual addition of extra seasoning). The flavours were perfect, with just the right amount of cheese ! Loved it.

Cerisse is a beautiful cafe, that offers you good food, and is extremely light on the pocket.
They also give a 10% discount if you show the ink on your thumb finger :)
Will surely visit again when I'm around Ulsoor !

Ambiance - 4/5
Food - 3.5/5 (because of the lettuce salad)
Service - 3.5/5
Value for money - 4/5

After a few months of planning, I dropped in here, a neighbourhood eatery for me, for a weekday lunch with a friend. The place had maybe one more set of people and the quiet was lovely. Once you are seated here and you can smell the plants from Ambara, you tend to disregard sounds of traffic from the other side of the wall. The seating was comfortable and the place looked warm and happy on first blush.

The young lady taking our orders got confused a couple of times. We were trying to get wifi connectivity and that exercise didn't pan out well, with confusion over passwords and what not.

However, on the food front, this place really delivered. Their soup for the day was something that I don't remember anymore but what I do remember is that it was brimming with the goodness of vegetables and superb flavour and was just the thing for a wintry afternoon. The quesadilla was perfectly nice as did their watermelon and feta salad. Pasta with tomato & basil sauce was another delicious and satisfactory dish here. After having decided against dessert, we opted for coffee instead.

If what you are looking for is a lunch in a fantastic looking garden and home like food, go here. For some reason, I left feeling I had just returned from Auroville. It was probably the goodness of the ingredients that made up the food, the freshness of taste and flavour. Whatever it was, I am certainly coming back here repeatedly

We went to Cafe Cerrise for a quick weekday lunch, and we were pleasantly surprised. The cafe is located in a nursery/craftshop sort of place, so the ambiance is quirky, floral and absolutely relaxed. This is the sort of place where you should bring a book on a Sunday afternoon and spend hours sipping coffee.

Anyway, on to the food. Their menu card is as cute and surprisingly professional as the atmosphere in the restaurant. Each item on the menu looked appetizing and looked light on the pocket too! We were left wondering what the catch was.

Well, Cafe Cerrise doesn't really have a catch, except that the service is a bit slow for working power-lunches. But the place is not intended for working power-lunches so that point can be excused. I had the Grilled Chicken with mushroom sauce and, save a missing dash of salt, it was great. My friends were quite happy with their dishes too.

All in all, a great find, and one to definitely return to - on a Sunday!
