Review Chung Wah - Bengaluru

It was great dinner, service was great. Taste of all food were great. Veg noodles was great I liked the taste of chilli chicken. Rate is quite pocket friendly. Will try other menu item on next time.

The food was good, just a little on the oily side, but it was flavor packed. The ambiance was great for if you like quite and a peaceful place after all the sound of traffic and commotion. The honey crispy chicken was nice sweet n crispy just the way I like it. But the chicken in Hunan chicken was quite tiny.

Decor : Simple and elegant, comfy sofas, no music though. Food : wonton soup - > just okay, wasn't too hot when served. Butter garlic prawns - > Amazing, it's a must try, just loved it!! Drunken wings - > 👌 Nasi Goreng - > very well prepared, was pleasantly surprised, was doubtful before ordering but worth it.

Food is very tasty. Golden fried prawns are very tasty. Service is not so good but it's ok. Noodles, rice and soup are awesome. It's in ITPL mall.

It's a nice place. Cozy. Good vibes. Staff is friendly but a little untrained. That's fine, because the food compensates for that. Food is delicious. We tried 2 chicken starters, veg main course and some non alcoholic beverages. The quality of the food is good, fresh, it's tasty. They make it the way you want it. Spicy, mild, salty. Family friendly & most importantly, safe for kids. I would strongly recommend the place. Just make sure you know what you want to eat, in advance.

The prices are definitely on the higher side but if you like fusion food as in food that resembles neither Indian nor Chinese food, then this is the place for you. Fried wantons, steamed vegetable rice and rolls are recommended items from their menu. The best part of this place is that it is never crowded so it is easy to find a place here at any time. Bon appetit..

Visited this place last week end for lunch. Not much rush ,ambience decent, courteous staff served our order within 10 minutes. Food quality is good, atleast much better than what is served in most Bengaluru restaurants in the name of Chinese food. Quantity and rates reasonable. Would like to visit again

The one in park square mall is extremely good. I have a ten there several times and all the food I spot on. Of course, there are many other Chinese restaurants better. But in price range and from all the other outlets I have visited, this one stands out.

Worth every penny ! Delicious food

I really like the food taste. And nice ambience. Staff are friendly. Nice varieties of Chinese food 🍲. Pad Thai chicken noodles is my favorite and fried momos also.
Manjunath Nayak
Food is not up to the mark you will get Breyer food at lower price at other outlets of park square.

To answer the question "What Did you not like" - There isn't a thing which can be liked about this place. Overpriced... I haven't tasted such worthless Chinese. <br/>I have been cooking for a long time now... Just want to ask the chef one single question - Which master chef taught you to use curry leaves in Chinese...

Place seems to be nice.. Unfortunately we had a bad service, not sure they were short on staff or it's usually like this.. We ordered soup(three treasure veg) was okish and startes (dragon roll) a decent bad experience for not choosing restaurant again!!

Chung wah is one of my favourites for Chinese, but this branch suprised me. Very bad food quality and taste, i would suggest not visiting here and wasting your money n time like I did.

Chung Wah is the first Chinese restaurant chain that I fell in love with after I moved to Bengaluru. <br/>Therefore, when I saw this outlet in Park Square Mall last evening, I was more than excited to try out the food here. <br/><br/>I ordered a Prawn Tom Yum Soup, Mala Chicken, Fish in Black Bean Sauce and Prawn Pad Thai.<br/><br/>Following are my ratings:<br/><br/>3/5 for Food: The Prawn Tom Yum Soup was thin, tangy, lightly spiced and had veggies & prawns. However, the number of prawns was few and far between. <br/>Mala Chicken is basically a stir-fried chicken dish that's loaded with veggies and is spiced up with chilies and sauces. This is my favourite dish and I had to order it. They made it just the way I wanted - dry and hot. <br/>Prawn Pad Thai lived up to my expectations. The dish was mildly spiced and was loaded with veggies. They used the typical Thai noodles to make the dish. However, I do not think that they had used rice noodles. Also, here too the number of prawns in the dish was very few.<br/>The fish pieces in the Black Bean Sauce was coated with cornflour and deep-fried before adding to the gravy. While I understand that this is the typical way of making Chinese gravies (where you coat the animal protein and deep fry it), the fish balls felt a little oily.<br/><br/>3/5 for Ambience: The ambience is like that of a typical Chung Wah restaurant. The interior is dimly lit, with lights hanging from the ceilings. The walls have Mandarin script, paintings featuring Chines monks.<br/>There are different sizes of tables for different sizes of crowds. <br/><br/>3/5 for Price: I think that the dishes are overpriced.<br/><br/>3/5 for Service: The service needs improvement. The staff needs to be more amiable.

So, we reached the place late at around 10:15 and the kitchen closes at 10:30(weekdays). But, the staff were courteous and suggested the best they have. The dimsums were a bit thick and not soft maybe because they were in a hurry to prepare. But overall the ambience is cosy and warm and the food is a thumbs up!

Bad chef. All dishes tasteless. No taste at all. North, east and west Indians will not like this place. There was red chilly in schezwan noodles 😂
Luqman Ahmed
Butter garlic prawns with curry leaves in Chinese hotel... and the taste is not worth the money... Do not waste your money here...!!! Fried rice with tomatoes

Our team visited this place out of a sudden lunch plan. The food really tasted great and service was prompt too. We ordered Thai and Chinese dishes. The crispy babycorn was too tasty. Overall, very much happy with the visit!! Would recommend and like to try out more from here!!

I had horrible experiences here. Last week we went for team lunch at Chung Wah, the food was pathetic, there were fried insects in the food. Vegitables in food was not at all fresh.<br/>Overall it was horrible experience. We came out wothout having food. I will recommend u to go to other places.

Now I went to the ascendas mall and saw this Chinese place and decided to give it a try...ambience is just ok..nothing much...v ordered Thai chicken fried rice and hot and spicy chicken.. both the items were just ok...it's not a restaurant quality food which I expected it to be..very basic and minimal flavours..staff is ok and nothing unpleasant happened with me as I see in the other reviews...these 2 items cost me 630 bucks...I think there are better Chinese options at a lower or same price range..they didn't impress with the food...need to up their game...

This time a horrible taste experience with this place...when I was in JP nagar I always love to have "Drums of heaven" from Chung wah, Bannerghatta outlet...the food taste of that branch was just awesome...Recently have moved to Whitefield & two days back ordered some dishes from Chung wah, whitefield outlet...other dishes that ordered from this place was ok ok...but the taste of the "Drums of heaven" is just hopeless...So dry...rubbery type..totally disgusting..Instead of "Drums of heaven" it should be "Drums of hell"..So, decided not to order food from this place again...
Diksha Sharma
How can someone be polite after getting idiotic and senseless service from this place.... I agree on the food part...Yes the food is amazing.. The kind of bloody service they offer to customers is shittier than small dhabas you come across on the highways.
Somyashree Rath
Very bad service. We asked for soft drinks and they simply kept that bottle without serving in glasses. Food also was very bad tasty. Half of the time their swipe machine doesn't work they will tell you to pay by cash. Very disappointed.. worst restaurant and Bangalore with high price<br/>

Value for money and super super Super delicious food and friendly servers. Be it the lollipop or the Thai curries or the pad Thai. Every single dish is amazing and authentic. Love coming back to it for every occasion .. extremely good job by the chef here<br/>
Amit Prakash
This is the most amazing and authentic Thai/Asian food joint in Whitefield for sure. Servers are very curtious and food rocks. The place is clean as well. The prices are totally value for money. After staying in US for 10 years, I feel like eating here everyday...this place is definitely under rated. Hopefully they can continue the business as they serve some good tasting and authentic food
Rupsha Basu
The taste was below average.. nothing Chinese or Thai. It tasted like any other chowmein with total indian flavour full of oil , I never had chowmein with so much oil. I should have checked the rating before entering it. Please hire proper Chinese n Thai specialist cooks<br/>
Jatinder Aggarwal
Very spicy food, normal ambience and even ac wasn't working properly. Now think of a small place with hot n spicy food and no proper ac. Its neither authentic Chinese nor proper Indian fusion, I will suggest to avoid it.
Amey Maldikar
We went to this place for office dinner.. Food is close to authentic Chinese or Asian food, I don't think many has this taste developed. Still it wasn't great to have. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Have tried other outlets but this one is different. Limited options in menu, higher prices.<br/><br/>Within this price range, there are better alternatives available.
Libin Daniel
Food was delicious.but the quantity is really poor.thats y one star less.staff behaviour is ok.they huddle up in a corner to gossip.but not ill mannered.so i guess thats also ok.<br/>But the food experience was good.super soft chicken and melt in mouth cooked fish.<br/>However a tremendous improvement needs to b done regarding the quantity.
Anuradha Gupta
Food is not everything when you are dining out the way you are treated equally matters.<br/><br/>If we talk about food was damm delicious 😋🤤<br/>But the staffs service was pathetic. We entered and got our seat just like we do in food court, nobody came to greet us. Then we had to ask 4 times to get a glass of water. The order was also delivered late. And this was not it, the waiter spilled food on a person and he turned back and gave a wicked smile as if he had a big achievement. That just spoiled our mood.<br/><br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Staff behaviour:0.5/5<br/>Cost for 2: 800rs

A decent place in the midst of offices. Located in park square mall. Went out with a colleague, ordered manchow soup which was amazing. <br/>Mushroom salt and pepper was also lip-smacking. <br/>Chicken momos was bland. No taste. Just flour.
Sirish Kumar
Not sure why the restaurant was almost empty at 8 pm on Thursday but we liked the quite ambience. Food was good specially flat thai noodles. Will go again in future.
Rohit Kamal Saxena
I haven't seen worse customer service. I had walked in with my family today and waited for 5 mins to be even noticed in the restaurant. We stood by the table waiting it to be cleaned. After waiting there invisible to whole staff we walked out of that place and even then nobody bothered.
Aishika Roy
The food was good but the customer service was pathetic. They didn't give water untill we asked for it. They literally threw the plates on the table. I am never coming back here. Worst experience ever. I generally don't give bad reviews to places but this time I was compelled.
Deeparull68
Had ordered noodles and found a steel strang in it. When enquired the waiters said that its the string of the scrotch brite that got struck while washing the kadai which they used for sauting the noodles. Cant imagine how unhygienic.. repented for going to the restaurant. Taste of the food too was not good.
Ayushi Gupta
Just the perfect place for having hunan pan fried noodles. The staff is friendly and the ambience is great as well. 5* to the food and the ambience could have been better with some music in background. Good experience altogether.
Soumyadip De
We ordered prawn fried rice & chiken gravy item.<br/><br/>They gave 1 small bowl of fried rice & some tasteless chicken items.<br/><br/>Frankly speaking both are tasteless & in prawn fried rice we got only 2 prawn. Total bill was 635. Which is nothing but wastage of money.<br/><br/>Please improve your food quality & quantity both.
SURAJIT RANA
Had dinner at Chung wah park square Mall Itpl. The experience was pretty bad if I compare taste over priced items. The food were not tasty at all. If I compromise on taste even after paying for overpriced items I should expect a decent quality. The quality was so good that I found a hair in the soup and even in chicken lollypop. As I had found the hair in the soup almost during completing it off so thought of sparing it but reported about it as soon as I found another piece of hair in chicken lollypops. Even after reporting they took it for granted and atlast I paid even for the reported dishes. It will be real blunder if I visit such kind of unethical restaurants and their staffs. Last not but the least BAD EXPERIENCE OF FOOD AND STAFFS WHO TAKES CUSTOMERS FOR GRANTED
Pooja
Delicious food . Ordered crispy honey chicken, green Thai curry and Thai chicken fried rice. All dishes were finger licking.<br/>Food : 5 stars<br/>Ambience : 5 stars<br/>Service : 5 stars<br/>

I've been to other outlets of Chung wah but this place is so bad..the food is so bad it doesn't taste like the usual food at all...so oillyyy..not cooked properly
Rakesh Bhonagiri
#average poor taste, not great ambience, too oily, their suggerstion was bummer. Had not properly cooked corn soup, mushroom pepper felt like baby corn, egg noodles was way too oily . All in all I will skip this place for sure whenever I can
Hari
The restaurant doesn’t have hand wash area and we need to step out of the restaurant and use the common restroom for hand wash!! Never seen anything as such. Soups were okay and starters are not upto standard. Ordered Thai mix fried rice and schezwan mixed noodles and it’s pathetic! You’ll get much better fried rice at street shops. I would suggest everyone to choose some other restaurants inside the food court, rather than wasting your time and money.
Priyajit Mitra
Its near to my office area, went there after office. It's a new outlet in Itpl area, Chinese food was good and reasonable, ambience was good, friendly staff behaviour.
Ganesh G
Soups and rice were good. Starters need a lot of improvement. Had to return undercooked chicken dishes. And staff service needs great improvements. If these are sorted, the restaurant could be good value for money.
Bharath Dixit
Love the manchow soup here. But disappointed with late service and also arrogant behaviour.Owner tried to hide when we asked for him There is no handwash facility in the restaurant,no idea why!!Slightly overpriced .Taste wise its good overall.

Chinese is my favourite cuisine, So I like to try it wherever I see a Chinese Restaurant.<br/>Located inside a new mall at top mall and being the only Chung Wah in Whitefield, I had high hopes from the place.<br/>I have been to other Chung Wah outlets, which were decent.<br/><br/>The place has nice confortable sofas, so decor and ambience were not an issue. We went on a busy Sunday Evening, still got a place easily. The place was kid-friendly.<br/><br/>It was not much occupied, so I expected staff to be more vigilant to our service. But they were not really intetested to serve, which I have hardly seen in any Chinese restaurant.<br/><br/>We ordered for a Vegetarial Noodles and Chinese Chopsuey. Noodles were ok, but chopsuey tasted bad. Seems I made an incorrect choice of being there.<br/>

Been to this place today for lunch. The place is right across my office in ITPL. ambience is decent enough. Place is very clean and tidy. They have a very small menu which is kind of disappointing with scezwan rice missing. We order for baby corn starter which was very good. We continued with spring roll which was made to perfection. We next ordered American chopsey which was too sweet. Our next dish veg fried rice was total blank. We finished the lunch with Thai fried rice which was OK compared to previous dish. The bill came to 3000 for a group of 8.the quantity offered for main course dishes was decent while for starters it is clearly inadequate. I feel it is too pricey for the choice and taste of food it offered. Not a great place unless you are into Indian Chinese. You can give it a try. Go with less expectations.
Anveshan Chaudhary
The staff is polite...the food is great and ambience is a bit relaxed to subdued....on the whole great...the burnt garlic noodles are awesome.
Sanjay Dey
I would not say that they are the best Chinese ............. but I must say that they are quite authentic Chinese. If you want good food that tastes great at a budget price, then you should give a try to Chung Wah.<br/>This restaurant has multiple outlets in Bangalore, however, if you visit the M.G.Road outlet (which I suppose is the oldest), you can get other options of meat as well like beef & pork.<br/>Overall, a good place to dine in for Chinese at a budget price.
Ayushi Verma
This was the first time I tried an outlet of Chung Wah and it was an average visit. The Hot and Sour chicken soup was good and we loved the thai grilled prawn.<br/>The double cooked chicken was okay and the noodles were also decent enough but not great.<br/>The ambience is very dull and the staff is a bit confused so overall there is a huge scope of improvement.
Rishi Kumar Jha
Good for chinese lovers . Nice and peaceful ambience , perfect for family or team lunch and dinner .<br/>My pick : Try chicken satay in ground nut sauce 👌<br/>
Ateeq Ra
It’s a sad place to be, the food is not good, the service is pathetic. We ended up serving ourselves and they mixed up bills, most of the soft drinks not available. If you are there better use food court
Divya Ramesh
Peaceful and calm place for Chinese lunch & dinner 🥘!! Love the butter garlic prawns 🍤 and clear soup 🍜! Served real quick. Went there by 5:30 for lunch 🍴.quiet friendly staff around !!
Deepali Shah
Found a cockroach in the soup. Upon informing the manager, he stood there with a blank face. Not at all recommended. No wonder the place was deserted, not a single table occupied.
Kumudini Siddannaiah
Very bad service.. staff does not care about the customer at all. Food sucks. They all worried about attending and grabbing customers but not willing to give good food not worth at all..

Situated on the top floor of Park Square Mall, this outlet of Chung Wah is complete let down.<br/>I have been to Chung Wah at Kamanahalli and Bel Road. Both the places have been exquisite with very nice food.<br/><br/>When we entered, we wanted to sit on the bigger table as we had our office laptop bags but we were asked to sit on the four sitting area, after insisting we got the big table. The restaurant had no customer when we had arrived.<br/><br/>Coming to the food, we had ordered Chicken momos, Fried rice, Hakka noodles, Chilli Chicken and pepper chicken.<br/><br/>The momos were okay in size but the filling had a smell. We ignored it and had it with the sauce provided. The fried rice and noodles were good with proper taste but there was a flavour of MSG.<br/><br/>The chicken dishes looked and tasted more or less the same only there was a hint of pepper and an additional green vegetable with the pepper chicken.<br/><br/>After having lunch, till evening our stomachs felt full.

Been to Chung Wah on several occasions and never witnessed an extreme downward spiral of the quality, on all fronts, of an establishment!!<br/><br/>On our first and second visit the service, the food, attitude and subdued décor impressed that we went back for more.<br/><br/>The chow mein, noodles, various variety of fried rice and the customizing of a dish warmed the cockles of the"tummy" and pleased the palate.<br/><br/>Their San Pai chicken, Thai curry, nasigoreng rice wetted our taste buds.<br/><br/>On our last visit the slide to oblivion was pretty noticeable.<br/><br/>Today's lunch with friends was a disaster, especially on the service front. Carlton was the manager, cum waiter cum steward who steered Chung wah, in the right direction.<br/><br/>Kanhaiya, took our order, then ... ( sorry forgot his name), brought out the dishes and calmly laid them on the four corners of our table precariously placed on the edges!!. Then he drew the attention of a guy (he was engrossed with his phone). This was Kanchin, from Tripura, who nonchalantly STROLLED to our table and served us as if he was dumping garbage??. He was talking to us in English, no issues on that score but when we advised him, in English, on the service protocol, he quickly changed his affinity of language stating he doesn't understand the very same language he was talking to us earlier.<br/><br/>When we ordered the second round this same person (it appeared that he was the only person "trained" in serving), because again he by now entered his phone and took some vehement and aggressive calling to get his attention.<br/><br/>The chicken dishes with two different sounding names were exactly the same in flavour and presentation.<br/><br/>Sad to see a nice place being washed down the kitchen drain.
Aastha Singhal
The food here is very average. Presentation is zero. It is overpriced. Highly unsatisfactory. The quality doesn't match the prices at all. The ambience is also very dull.
Dhiman Paul
Pathetic service, pathetic food. Changed my order by themselves only and claimed to be our order only. But when they gave the bill it's actually according to our order, when we questioned about that - they told they did it because both are same priced.<br/>Only 1 advice just avoid.
Damodar Varma
Newly opened in ascendas park Whitefield, the last time I went there when this place was situated in Whitefield, I was served non veg wontons instead of veg. This was a big no no from their part and I have never gone there since, however when I went to the newly opened place it was different, food tastes better and service was excellent. Although this place is a little heavy on your wallet pls keep in mind. Must try- veg schezuan fry(not on menu you need to ask for it) American chopsuey veg ofcourse...
Rohit

Went there for lunch. Seems like there is a clear disconnect between this branch and the actual chain of restaurants. The golden fried prawns were soggy and prawns were overcooked. Chicken wings, Chicken chowmein and Prawn fried rice were too oily. Giving it a 2 rating because I think they can improve. Otherwise it wasn't even worth giving a 1.
Ankur Gupta
We went there for send off party of one of my colleague, and for 8 ppl, they were not able to arrange proper seating.<br/>Food was average taste wise, the menu was simple laminated sheet with very limited options,<br/>Babycorn was good, Thai curries (red and green both) were average,<br/>Ambience is good,<br/>Service was very very slow and poor.
Gautam
Been to this outlet for having a dinner with my friends. The ambience of the restaurant was good. Well cleaned and well maintained. The interior is decent. Coming to the food, had Wonton soup, three treasure soup. Mushroom pepper salt and chicken satay in starter and Pad Thai veg in main course. The presentation of the foods were okay and served at perfect temperature. Coming to the taste it was okay. The efficiency of the service was good.<br/>Service: 3.5/5<br/>Ambience: 3/5<br/>Food presentation: 2/5<br/>Food Taste: 3/5<br/>Availability of food: 2.5/5
Purva Umalkar
Visited this place for a quick lunch with colleagues on a weekday. It has a decent ambience and wasn’t very crowded. Please make a note this is not just a Chinese restaurant, they have Thai, Malaysian and Vietnamese dishes on their menu too. They really need to work on their menu card as not all the dishes are mentioned on the menu card. When we asked the waiter for the suggestions he told us a complete different menu than mentioned in the menu card. I won’t say they serve authentic cuisine but the taste is good for Indian taste buds specially the veg noodles. Do check your bill before making the payment as we had some issue with the bill which was later corrected.
Atul Gupta
Tried visiting the outlet for Team lunch.<br/>Since we were 9 so thought of booking the table and tried the number mentioned on Zomato but the person at other side kept disconnecting my call.<br/>Even though we tried our luck and went to the restaurant directly which is situated at 4th floor in Park Square mall.<br/>Once entered we found the place in total chaos, no one to receive people and could spot only 2-3 staffs, tables were dirty and unmanaged. Waited for 5 mins with my team of 9 at the door but no one came to receive. Finally I walked down to one of the staff and he clearly mentioned that they can't accommodate and the waiting time is minimum half n hr only for the food to be served even if they provide us the table. And post that we walked off the place.<br/><br/>So this is the state of the newly opened place which is trying to attract customer and make a name.<br/>I would say it's pathetic.<br/>Won't be visiting again and won't recommend as well.
Aaron Rego
The food is simply amazing.. One of the best Chinese restaurants in the vicinity.. Newly set up in the Park Square Mall and needs to improve on their service time. Overall had a great experience.
