Review Peace Restaurant - Bengaluru

Visited after almost a decade! Don't even know if the name has changed but the interiors definitely have changed. One thing that hasn't changed is that i remember how yummy the food was and it continues to be super delicious! This was the place I had my first Thukpa in life and the memory is still fresh. I had to go back to that again and was absolutely delicious! So glad we went there. Will keep going back!

This is one of my favorite place to visit. I love their thukpa and Momo here. Their laphing is a must try. This place is not a very fancy place but a small tiny place which serves you like really amazing food. We tried their ting mo and it went so well with the shapta and the chutney. This is like the go to place if you want a warm bowl full of soupy noodles(thukpa) . It is filled with chicken and veggies and it is very flavourful. Plus the best part about this place is that it is super cheap. Can you believe you can get a whole meal for 3 and more for just 600, isn't that amazing.

My goodness, this small Tibetan styled eatery is very underrated. The food is superb. And the decor is also very thoughtful. I tried out the Chicken thukpa as well as the Chicken thentuk. Both the dishes have (surprisingly) different style of soup, as well as noodles which was extremely tasty. We got a tingmo which is a kind of bread as well which we used to dip in the soup and was very filling. For drinks I tried out the root beer which is non-alcoholic and complimentary to the spicy flavours. This place looks small but it packed a really good punch and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The quantity is good for one and prices are very reasonable indeed. Parking for 2 wheelers here is not an issue, you can park nearby on Jyoti Nivas college road. Go for it blindly if you are thinking of trying out some Tibetian food.

Well, if you are a hardcore meat lover, should visit this place. Peace restaurant is small, very small. But the taste thy are serving is good. I tried their fried pork and beef Momo's.the taste was amazing. Staffs are polite. You should try this place if you like the Tibetan taste of food.

Nice place in a small space but not bad at all. The food was tasty and authentic taste. Thr service was a bit slow. Other than that it was excellent. Very courteous people!!
Ahil Thachil
A very cozy place which has got the right amount of flavor for the foods. The place has good value for money and a typically since the seating is quite less there may be a wait but the food is all worth it, the tingmo, and the momos are to die for while the chopseuy and the fried rices with an array of different meats are also noteworthy. An another interesting item would be the "fruit beer" a non alcoholic fruit beverage.

The best place for momos and thukpas. Love the pork ribs here. My favourite place to goto have northest cuisine. They make amazing thukpas and momos and pirk momos are too good. The soup they have with the noodles and the thukpas are amazing. If you ever wanna try northeast food then this is the place. They staff is quick and friendly. I am givin five star for the quality quantity and the amazing taste. This is a must visit place.

If you love Thukpa, you should visit this place. We were two people and were craving for some Thukpa so we chanced upon this place in Kormangala 5th Block. It's located opposite to Empire restaurant on the main road. We ordered Veg Thukpa and Veg Momos. Veg Thukpa had generous amount of veggies with properly cooked noodles. It tasted really yummy. We added some red chutney to Thukpa which made it even better. Chutney was spicy and tasted great. Loved their momos but it could have been softer. Overall, it was an amazing experience.

A small tibetian joint that serves some epic food. The ambience is not that great and it is very small and can be easily missed. It's right next door to Meghana' s on the JNC road. The service is slow but it's worth for the food.
Prabu R
It is a budget friendly place to have real Tibetan food! Really felt that they use good quality oil and meat!

Fiery food. The red chilli is killer though. Very authentic in flavours. Place is small. Lacks ventilation. It's done up tastefully. Helpful tip : The red chilli powder and noodles and chips are for sale near the billing counter. You can carry the dragon fire chillies home.

I ordered for pork chilly and when I got it the first bite of it was so bad the perks were burned pork and no flavors at all and plus how can anyone send a burned dish was not expecting it have been eating from so many years but today is the baddest pork I had in my life.
Lobsang Sherab

Stanley Chachik
Heard a lot about this place from my friends. I figured I would try it once, wasn't disappointed. I m picky with my food but this place lives up to my expectations.

I’ve ordered for pan fried and noodles but I’ve received pork thukpa but it was amazing too, please make sure you send right orders, overall the taste was amazing
Simon Joseph
I had the most awful pork dish from this place...
Ahana Pinto
The place was so untidy and messy. We ordered momo which were so thick and lumpy . The pork chilly was filled with fat and the soup was tasteless . horrible experience
Eldho K Rajan
The thukpa that we ordered didn't taste great. The chilly beef thukpa was bitter.
The food was lacking salt and was priced high. It is our humble request that the food quality be taken care of.
Thomas Dsouza
I ordered cheley beef tongue they cheated me by sending me beef meat sliced in the same way I went to the restaurant returned the dish they gave me money back they didn't have tongue to replace the dish
Ame Kraho
For the amount you're paying, the food is really good.
Especially the set meals. Service is also not a throwdown. And you don't have to wait too long either.
Akhil K Renjith
Salad is not good to be Frank. It's too spicy and not even single veggies are there only two three peice of cucumber and charged me 160 rs .
Peace Restaurant
Chicken chilly garlic noodles was superb
Mahi At Peace
Ordered paneer chilly as evening snack from this restaurant and the delivery was done as per the specified time. However, for the price that's paid the quantity provided is way too less. Besides, it was dripping of oil. As a matter of fact, the cloth bag that was used to get the food was soaked in oil. Well, coming to the taste, it's below average and I'm sure this is not something one would want to have. Quantity is inversely proportional to the price paid.. Not again for me!!!
Foodu
If you are looking for good food at reasonable price, then this is the best place to be .its simple Restaurent the food was tasty. Do try the special chicken thukpa. It's very tasty. Bit spicy

Jacob George
Order veg combo. It was moderately priced and stomach filling. The noodles and the mixed veg in hot n garlic saw was very tasty. Even the fried momos need to little more cooked Salad was also nice
Michael De Rebello
Super food quality and quantity! I have a big appetite. The Beef momo's were lovely, and the staff were very polite and quick with service! Will definitely come back!
Karthik
The reviews didnt disappoint. Right food at right price, the service is quick. Do try their veg combo its good and stir fried Chinese cabbage
Tenzin
I love the food here.. This is a place I like to go again and again. Would highly recommend this place. Ambience is good and friendly staff.
Archishman Das
We made a order from here. Delivery is quick. Ordered mixed fried rice , momo, pork chilly pork item was good and a well made. The only problem i found is with momo. Momos are cold like hell and smells very bad. Don't know why they did that cause other items are good comparable to that.
EatRegretRepeat
I ordered Veg Noodle from this place today. What I received was just oily noodles that has nothing hardly few countable pieces of veggies in entire noodles. It was not at all tasty.
Pruthviraj HK
Been there few times as i think there aren't many Tibetan restaurants around but still feel like you are not welcome there by staffs. Food either too oily or too salty. Response from the kitchen is quick but lacks hygiene. Good place for college crowd and menu pricing is reasonable but you can't keep any expectations.
B_00
I ordered this “Stir fried beef with Bok Choy” thinking it’s beef but what I got was only Bok Choy. I mean why even bother saying it’s “fried beef with Bok Choy” when it’s going to be without beef ? I called the restaurant and asked and the lady said it’s supposed to be like this and would redeem 10₹ . If it’s becos my order was near the closing time that they neglected the order but if not please change the misleading menu name. I was craving for Tibetan beef but now all the restaurants are closed for order. That 10₹ redeem is of no help.
Satyadeep Tamang
Good food ambence is good, I like their thukpa chilly chicken but i try noodles but it is average ......... they have renovated this place but nice place .......
Kanishk Ravindran
To be honest it's not that great of a place mainly since it lacks hygiene. Apart from that the taste and the service are manageable. Overall good experience.
Gen Lee
A small cozy Tibetan restaurant located near St. Joseph college(Probably a daily stop for the Josephians).
•Food: 4/5
•Service: 3/5
•Price: 5/5
•Ambience: 2/5 ( but who cares when they give you food at a reasonable price)
Nikhitha
Great place for Tibetan and Chinese food! Being budget sized and college budget friendly it is definitely a space that students can grab a bite ... the food average but for curtain items the price is a lil high but over all 2 ppl can eat under 200.
Aadityan R
A peaceful restaurant next to St.Joseph's College.
The Noodles there is just Oil, tried two times, both the time the same experience.
But this is not the case with their fried rice, it tasted good.
Some of the items are okay.
The best highlight is that they offer comparatively cheaper food in this area.
But their Menu is wide and have good options to choose from(except juice and desserts).
It's just an average place, but better than many of the fake Tibetan restaurants in Bengaluru.
Rositta Simon
While I haven't been here, I've ordered a thukpa from here and it was nothing short of disappointing. The food was filled with oil to the brim and the chicken tasted stale. Chilli oil with water and noodles does not make a thukpa. I'd stay away from this place.
Ishwarya Murthy
We went there for lunch, spent about 540 bucks, horrible food. Must teach the waitress some good manners, least concern, as we had left the entire food that we had ordered. Bad quality food. Horrible Service. Suggest none to Visit.Worst food ever I have tasted in my life , so regret my decision of going to this place.

This girl @foughtdragonswithyou has a deep emotional connection with this place. She has been visiting this restaurant ever since she was in 12th grade. I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better restaurant to review as a 100th post than this! A place that has special effect on someone from a long time. Peace restaurant is a Tibetan eatery that has three outlets in Bangalore. They are mainly situated near colleges or schools so that students can relish on some good food after a long tiring day, with their friends. The quantity that they serve here is A Lot! The rates are reasonable - we ordered like 7 items(including coke and lemon juice) and ended up paying only ₹770/- Ratings:- Food- this place is mainly known for its momos and thukpas. Do try these(especially chicken thukpa with momos) - 4/5 (the devil chicken with fries had a good taste but unfortunately the chicken was a bit undercooked)
Ambience- quite a big place but needs more maintenance- 3/5
Service- friendly staff but just one waitress who was at everyone’s service. So I guess that a few more people to help around the place would be great! - 3.5/5
Price- totally worth it and completely reasonable! -5/5.
Peace restaurant is totally PEACEFUL! Come with your gang and have a great time there!
Echung Ovung
Food here is good. Pretty standard. However, I suggest you change your waitress or teach her some manners. She’s very rude and arrogant. People would like to eat in a good mood.
Jude Fernandes
My experience was really bad. I ordered Pork Chilly dry and no where does it say that it consists of ONLY Fat.The entire portion was really peices of fat.I called up the restaurant andthey told me they give only fat. It cheating when restaurants do not specify that only fat is served. I dumped it in thr garbage bin. The two items i ordered was Beef Thupa abd beef fried rice was absolutely sub standard. Made a mistake ordering Tibetan food.

Terrible... Worst food ever.. this is the first time I had chicken hakka noodles with raw left over vegetables... The food was disgusting...
Soumen Dam
Rotten Veg steam momo delivered by peace restaurant today 12.08.17, order no 028222...called restaurant but defending...terrible experience....swiggy order no is 1102029626
Dhanashree Kumar
If you are craving for Tibetan delicacies, this is the place. Nothing like a hot bowl of chicken thupka on a rainy evening. Their menu is interesting and they give you diverse options and the food is served with simplicity. However, they can make this a much better place than what it is if they work on the hygiene factor.
Anna Abraham
Only saving grace was the beef momos ... The crispy honey potatoes were undercooked and had no flavor at all. The lime juice had some disgusting flavoring instead of lime. The peace mushroom pork fry was just pork fat deep fried in maida. Beef shaptha was bad... And the chichen momos were sticky...
Basanta Raj Pokhrel
I have been there in peace restaurant sgantinagar and ordered egg szchewan noddles wich is the totally oiliy and bland taste no flavor of szchwan only red colour added in the noddle I never go back to there
Swati Kansal
Bad food, badly packed. Had ordered delivery and when I got my food there had been a lot of leakage inside the packet. Anyway, tried to eat what was there and had to contend with undercooked rice and overly oily chicken. Since it was late and I was hungry, ate the bare minimum needed for sustenance and threw the rest away.
Needhika Barnwal
Affordable prices, authentic taste, good ambience, Clean n hygienic. Best part is that staff is very polite and active. One will find pictures of Dalai Lama and their flag on the walls
ABHIJITH SUDHAKAR
Situated next to Saint Joseph's college on Langford road, This place is single floor setup situated on the ground floor of the building. They don't have a parking area, so finding one could be difficult. The ambience is basic with wooden chairs and tables which can accommodate approximately around 30-40 customers. The place is kept clean. The food here is reasonably good. They have Veg and nonveg combos, which consists of Momos, Rice/Noodles, Starter, Gravy and lime soda. Food is reasonably priced and service is good.
Tilak
I asked them to give me something special in noodles which is not available in other restaurants, they recommended me special thukpa( I chose chicken). I used to travel in China and kind of familiar with real taste of Chinese food. This special thukpa took me back to Chinese authentic Sichuan Flavours ( little spicy in general). I just want to recommend this special thukpa ( available in all kind of meats separately ordered ) to all the noodle freaks. Chinese cabbage fry is great.
Crystal Catherine George
Mr and my colleague had gone there for lunch (Shanthinagar). We ordered the non veg combo which consisted of
1.2 steamed moms- well cooked filling
2.rice - it was soggy kinds - m not a fan of those
3.chicken was yum
4.thukpa - good
And slices of cucumber.

Ambience - not at all fancy, but manageable
Budget : 160rs. Pretty affordable!

Overall experience :3.5/5
You can eat from here if u want to eat an elephant! :)
Ashmy Alexander
Good ambience and great chinese tibetian food.i have been there for more than 5 times. Price is also reasonable so is quantity.hot and tasty food.
Jacob Cherian
Great Thukpa! Great veg clear soup. Great Tibetan chutney. Great ribs and beef momos. However the ribs can sometimes be too fatty with not enough meat. Otherwise it is fantastic and i could eat here even 3 times a week.

Hidden away in a non-descript lane in Shanthi Nagar, near to Hockey stadium, this little restaurant is a saving grace for the people who live and work nearby. It’s very crowded during peak hours and hence I make sure I let that hour pass by when I come here.

The place has a varied menu and suitable for everyone’s liking, I go to this place mostly for the amazing ‘American Chicken Chopsuey’. I simply love it. I have the same dish 8 out of 10 times when I visit this place. Another dish to try and relish is the dry veg Manchurian. Overall the taste of the dishes is good and they even help with making changes to the original dish according to your taste, which is very nice.

The only drawback is the service and the time taken for the order to be made, mainly because the kitchen is small and the orders come in plenty.
Suresh Kumar
Today bought chicken.thupa it's not good... So spicy not tasty ...they improve lot ...big place not crowded

Ambience. Are okay..............
Ryan Rodrigues
Bad bad bad. Went there with a lot of expectations since I'm fond of Tibetan food but I was disappointed. We ordered beef chilly fry, crispy honey potatoes and beef garlic noodles. All 3 dishes were pathetic. The beef chilly fry was straight out of the refrigerator. Crispy honey potatoes were more like soggy honey potatoes. Noodles had no taste. And the worst part is their service. There's a girl who takes your order and serves food. Her attitude was horrible. It was more like take it or leave it. Avoid!
Pooja Prahlad Singh
I am being a little biased towards this restaurant when I write this. It has been over 3 years since I have been going to Peace (Shanthinagar being close to my house). It is an absolute treat to you and your wallet. Food is good, ambiance is average but pretty clean, Service can be improved and it is extremely pocket friendly. Great for a quick bite, considering food takes less than 10 minutes to be served.

Must haves according to me: Hot and sour chicken soup (at Madivala, because they do not add tomatoes there), Chicken soup momo.
Raghuvinder
They have a million items on their menu.
None tastes the way it should.
I ordered stir fried pork. Damn Chewy. With great difficulty, I had 2 pieces.
Ordered Chicken Manchurian, it was served right out of fridge. Poor Manchurian Balls.
And last nail in the coffin, Chicken Noodles....I ain't going back their fellas.
Amanda
Sometimes you just crave a particular kind of Chinese (cheap, spicy and meaty) and on that front, Peace will give you a piece. (Sorry)
Their food is good, service very very average and their prices average too. Rated high because it's convenient for Josephites like me to just pop in there and have lunch in time to head back in college within an hour. If fancy dining with family or friends is what you want, then go elsewhere.
Leander Reis
I love to eat at this Tibetan place ! Good food, feels like Tibet ! Service is great, food is tasty !
Some Of the best Momos you'll get in shantinagar ! Amazing tupka & tigmo !
Avishek Bhatacharjee
Food is good (try their Barbeque pork and noodles), service is poor and the food is reasonably priced..not one of the best Tibetan or Chinese restaurants in the city but definitely not the worst one.....give them a try if you are in Shanthinagar.
Pulak Dasgupta
Went to that locality for some work when saw this place next to St Joseph's. We didn't waste much time and entered the place for our dinner.

Small place but clean. Vibrant ambiance with wall adorned with paintings and wall hangings specially related to Tibetan culture.

As all my friends were vegans, we ordered for Veg fried momos, crispy chilly potato, veg chilly garlic noodles and veg Hakka noodles. Service was surprisingly fast as all these were in our table in less than 10 minutes.

Veg fried momos were pretty much below average. Was a big letdown, not a promising start.

Then we had crispy chilly potato and it was too good. Proper amount of spiciness and crispness of fried potatoes made it one of the best.

Veg chilly garlic noodles were just ok but veg Hakka noodles were delectable!! Along with generous amount of tofu and mushroom, it was pure bliss to our palette.

Overall a nice place for trying out economical Chinese and Tibetan cuisines.
Kabir Banerjee
Momos- nothing special.
Thukpa- borth was ok, noodles were an afterthought, crispy pork was AMAZING.
Shaptak- decent
Stir fried Bok choy- SATISFYING
Service- incredibly inconsistent. They often don't acknowledge you entering, menus are dirty and you don't feel like touching them, getting served water takes forever. Food, on the other hand, can either be served to you within 5 minutes or take as long as 30 minutes.

Overall, you get what you pay for and it's a good option if you want something filling and not too heavy on the wallet.
Ciara
heard a lot about peace restaurant since it has opened another outlet near christ university but i chose this place since its near to my place for our lunch.the food was amazing specially devil momo and chicken fried noodle. ambience is very good(neat and clean) as i was expecting. staffs are very friendly and service is quick.i would defo recommend this place to visit.
Anush Anand
Had their Schezwan beef momos and they were really good. Affordable and tasty food. If you're in a budget and feel like eating Chinese food then this is the place to go.
