Review Lakeview Milk Bar - Bengaluru

If you are looking for authentic and the best tasting natural fruits and dry fruits ice creams Natural is undoubtedly the place to be. Their Sitapal icecream is the best among the long list of ice creams they serve according to me. Other best flavours include tender coconut, roasted almond etc.,

Natural Ice Cream - St. Marks Road Located on st-marks road. opposite to state bank of india. Parking is too difficult. it's a paid street parking. which is always occupied by neighbouring restaurants. Got across this outlet while walking on St. Marks Road. The outlet is on the main road and is well lit and quite easily noticeable. Relaxed and unpretentious ice cream joint. Atmosphere is light and clean. Very much sanitary. Workers use gloves to scoop ice cream. The staff service is good. The flavors are quite encompassing from black grapes to tender coconut. All flavors are very good. So we tried fruit flavour ice creams here with waffle cone. - Anjeer - seetha phal - tender coconut I like tender coconut better personally. Empty waffle cone cost ₹10. This place is Recommended !!!
Sachin Muddappa
We tried the signature Tender coconut and two other options of flavours we tried and in regards to flavours nothing comes closer to what they have to serve.
Vasudev Gouda
Good place. The chocolate almond was not spoiled. Staff gave replacement. Good behavior.
Chinmaya Kayargadde
Delightful place! Especially with some amazing company :) The flavours here are wholesome. I would recommend taking mango or tender coconut or sitaphal! There is a plethora of flavours to choose from. Just be your natural self and experience absolute calmness. A must try for all you people out there.

As the name says, it’s just natural.. You don’t feel any artificial essence in it. Do not forget to try mango 🥭 malai (seasonal).

Love the Tender Coconut, Seetaphal flavors(Seasonally available). The fig and honey is another favorite in our house. Not a huge fan of the Kesar Pista flavor. The facility is clean always. Not super crowded especially around 9:00 pm -10:00 pm.

As good as ever. The tender coconut, custard apple, and jackfruit flavors continue to excel. Always go for the cone.
Abhishek Bhanukumar
They have really good ice creams. I didn't like their tender coconut much. But the Persian delight was to die for. Really creamy and rich. Filled with dry fruits!
Vishal M
It's naturals!! The best ice cream you can savour on. Maybe I'm a bit biased but it's very apt. The ice cream is so addictive and so good. Must visit any of the outlets for an amazing dessert craving!
deepak nair
Located on the main road, has some real good tasty ice-creams. Tidy. Plenty of natural fruit flavors to choose from.
Chan Prakash
The best and most natural tasting ice creams. Would be great if they can add more creative flavours.
Narahari Shetti
Nice place to enjoy different flavours of icecream. Small cup cost you around 70 ruppees.
Swetha Mendez
Natural icecreams are so tasty. There are a lot of variety options available to try and i found the shop open even at late night.

Good place with good ambiance 💙

I had the Nutella cheesecake. It's awesome. It's a baked cheesecake. And the taste is awesome. Lakeview is anyway known for its dessert ❤️

I've never been a dessert fanatic. Yet, the smells that waft out the doors of any Lakeview Milkbar is just irresistible.

A simple and welcoming ambience brings one to an equally similar menu, which is on point and perfection.

I tried my very first bubble waffle at this place, and I remain a die-hard fan to this day. Never did I think I'd fall so deeply for waffle, a dish I've never been a fan of. A personal suggestion is that the original vanilla bubble waffle is better than their red-velvet version.

I'll always try to pop into the nearest LM post a meal to savour the syrupy goodness of these waffles.

Love their taste and working late night
Service is amazing
Overall great 👌

One of the oldest and best ice creams joints in Bangalore, Lakeview has perhaps the best desserts and snacks in town. The staff are very friendly and service is prompt. At night they deliver to your car if you pull up just outside the place.
Chandana
Hands down the best bubble waffle 🧇 I have ever tasted ... maple syrup on top just the Canadian way I love 😍🧇 I would scream for these ice creams any day any time just loved them all.. ice cream cake specials are my favourite.. Also tried cheese pizza, chicken cutlet and Hawaiian omelet totally yummy 😋.. pretty crowded on weekends... 9/10 definitely gonna try out all other flavours very soon

It all started when my sister and brother had no idea to go to any restaurant or cafe , so we decided to go to Lakeview and we didn't regret.
Best was they had Car in dining that was little uncomfortable but he had good time
Talking about the dishes we eat
I fell love with vanilla waffles it was sooo damn good
Apoorva Kusha Amble
Not as good as old lake view
Navya Hemachandra
The places make feels nostalgic and you can enjoy your good oldest childhood days and ice cream collections are amazing!!!

Please do not visit this place. Worth not going.

Lakeview is one of the 'hearts' of Bangalore that is believed to be one of the oldest place to serve desserts. Located at MG Road, this place has an authentic vibe where families, friends, kids would be found slurping the desserts. You'd also find people discussing about their favourite books or the current affairs of the country.
Primarily known for serving some handcrafted desserts, here are my personal favorites from Lakeview Milkbar:
1. Fudge Brownie Waffle: Whipped cream, Ice cream, 2 Brownies on a regular waffle base that is topped with chocolate fudge sauce

2. Banoffee Waffle: Banana base that comprises of Nutella, sliced bananas and vanilla icecream!
FoodDaGama
Heard lot about this place so planned to visit, but I found itt overrated. Icecreams, shakes are normal just they have a huge variety in these. Ordered pizza which is just like normal Street side pizza, thin crispy crust with veggies.
I suggest don't ho with lot of expectations and ya the prices are bit higher as per quality and services.
Happie Foodie
Like that this place is open until late, and bangalores cool weather made it convenient to actually order our desserts right outside the restaurant and sit at the steps and eat.
They also serve savory fast food and seem to be popular for their bubble waffles. But we tried the desserts only.

The Sizzling brownie is a classic , the hotplate was truly hot and sizzling.
The brownie got a little to charry though.

The red velvet pastry was lacking cream cheese.

Tha vanilla ice cream was the key saviour in both the desserts.
This place is good for a quick fix sugar craving at late hours.

Lakeview Milkbar is synonymous with the young and old. Located on MG Road, it's definitely one of these iconic dessert bars in Bangalore. It's a place worth visiting for the creamiest ice creams in town.
We tried the Ice cream with cream, Fruit Salad with Ice cream and Brownie Bubble Waffle. My favourite was the Waffle. It had brownie pieces, Fresh cream, Ice cream, bubble Waffle and fudge sauce. So so delicious! Definitely worth a try! :)
Nisha
One of the oldest desert parlour, ambience has been revamped now with beautiful lights.
Had the hot chocolate fudge, will visit again
Pranave Nanda
Bangalore's oldest dessert parlour, enough said!

The bubble waffles, the shakes and sundaes are all to die for! Decent prices, if not a bit expensive.

They have attractive pastries too, the red velvet and rainbow being personal favourites.

Highly recommended, a must visit in Bangalore!
Rakshitha Pg
Please change your menu card. And their should be improvement in quality of the ice cream which u searve. The place can be even more tidy...
Dharak Shah
This is the perfect place for your late night cravings. They serves delicious desserts. We have tried their icecream, hot chocolate brownie and pastry cake. Food is delicious and freshly made. There service is very good and courteous staff. Must try this very old place from Banglore who introduced icecream to bangaloreans.
Vishnu Priya
A traditional ice cream parlour in Bangalore called LAKE VIEW. Any dessert you order it’s mouth watering. They also serve mutton cutlet. It’s so soft and melts in one bite. Pizza though not big, but doesn’t compromise on the taste. Sundaes options are plenty. My all time favourite from past 25 years is fruits salad with Ice cream. Besides, decent place for late night desserts. We ordered Dutch chocolate special and butter scotch cake special. In pizza farm house feast was better.

Pls DONT choose the Falooda.. EVER! Its basically the worst dish here i think.
But on the bright side, The Black Forest Special lives up to its hype and it was great!

Located ton the main road of MG road this place is decent to try out their pastries. Pretty good ambience and a very calm. The pastry I tried was a recommendation by the staff and it was a bit hard inside. The staff was on the call for a long time and made me to wait for a while. Over all a decent & calm place to hang out with friends. Do tried their birthday cakes. PS- Paid parking s available on the other side so please make use of it .

Well everyone knows about this place and what it's famous for. You guessed it right dessert!! Well this is one of the oldest outlet. They are packed always and it's difficult to get a table inside the restaurant. To ease the order process you can always order from your car from the parking and your order will be delivered to you right there. I have tried almost all ice creams that I really can't tell which one is my favorite. You can give it a try and enjoy as many as possible. I like the single scoop flavors over any other mix.

Stop selling stale food ! The chicken mayo sandwich was so pathetic and am sure am going to have a bad stomach .
Shraddha Goyal
This place is the oldest ice cream parlor in Bangalore serving since British Era. The legendary status of this place shows in their dishes. The flavours are nostalgic and takes you back in time. This is my ultimate favorite place for ice creams and sundaes. My go to option is always the ice cream cake as it never disappoints me. I would highly recommend this. 😍
Food : 5
Ambience : 4
Service : 4 (this is a 5 star place if they improve their service).

I have been eating head since my childhood but today I was sooooo disappointed with that place because when I ordered for the chicken cutlet it never tasted like how it usually taste it had no salt at all and when asked the manger he started arguing and he was very rude and he stated speaking like Wht will u do if u had ordered on swiggy and he was not-ready day to replace the order and was very annoying dint expect this kind of behaviour with these people one of my favourite place turned into one of the worst place just because of the manager very dissapointed with the was he behaved.😶😶😶😶

Horrible service, the people who are behind the register think they are doing a favor selling ICECREAMs, god sake you sell ice cream not a life saving drugs. I am never going back again, a family and friends night hit a low with the service levels.

Lake view milkbar is the oldest Ice cream parlor which was started in 1930s. There are 4 outlets in b'lore which sells amazing ice cream should try the sandwiches and the famous red velvet ice cream must visit very good ampience and service......best desert and quick bites.............

Lakeview brings back a lot of memories for me. The bunch of us used to visit with our grandparents and now we get our kids here to pass on the tradition of creating new memories.

With the changes in the menu it is a place that will appeal to all age groups.

this is one of the best and oldest milkbar in Bangalore. I've been there multiple time, ice cream are good , milkshake are great, food is little pricey.

Food-7/10
Staff-8/10
Ambience -7/10
Menu- 7/10

This is one of the oldest ice-cream outlet in banglore. It was started in 1930s and now they have 3 outlets.

The ‘Lakeview Special Pizza’ is their highlight and all their bakery items such as pastries and buns are baked in-house. There ice cream contain no preservatives or artificial flavours and are always made from fresh milk.Sizzling brownie here is the must try with peri peri burger.

Taste is classic but price is little too much. And. Quantity doesn't make justice to price.

Food : 4/5
Ambiance : 3.5/5
Service: 3.5/5

One of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time!

The Black Forest Special is a must try! The combination of cake & ice cream was wonderful. Enjoyed every mouthful of it! :D
Old place - a den for families, groups and couples alike who are probably more of the Old Blr janta. I remember coming here about 8-9 years ago as well.
The coffee was good while the hot chocolate fudge was okay-ish. The pace of service on the first floor was a big bummer though. We eventually took a take away.
3.5/5

The legacy of Bangalore, I can say! A place where gazillion people have memories since decades. The ambience is buzzing with good crowd, well lit but at the same time quaint. But it's not accomodating enough for the customer base they have. Hope they expand.

Due to no seating available, we had to wait for 5 minutes or so. The menu provided was made of normal paper, which I felt was lowering their standards and service quality (for the amount they charge). The order was served in 10 minutes.

I ordered simple plain chocolate ice cream. It's a classic. Their vanilla icecream definitely tops the list though. Bubble Waffles of Lakeview are really gaining limelight. So I called for "red velvet waffle". The most amazing red velvet bubble waffle ever, hands down! It was topped with a dollop of fresh cream cheese and their delectable vanilla icecream. The combination is enthralling giving you a never before experience. The subtle sourness of cream cheese cuts the sweetness of the waffle and the icecream perfectly. The waffle is also the perfect mixture of crunchy and spongy. Urge you guys to try this out. Amazing quality.

I feel the pricing is high. Could improve on ambience and service. Also, they'll have to maintain the years worth of reputation by keeping up with their competitors. But I definitely request everyone to visit only for their mind-blowing delicacies.

Food-4/5(the final rating is mainly based on this)
Service-3/5
Ambience-3/5
Value for money-3/5

Never visiting this place ever again.... The ice cream tastes like only fat and red velvet cake is too dry and stale... not worth a penny...

Very good place for ice creams. I visit this place everytime I am traveling to Bangalore. ..Would definitely recommend this Ice cream place.
Soumya Pancholi
Decent place which boasts of being one of the oldest in B'lore. I have been here twice. Ice creams are great. Tried their cappuccino and iced mocha, which was usual - nothing great. The pastries are okayish too. Can work on that.
However, a great place for late night drives and ice cream cravings. :)

Ambience 3.5/5 : Though it is small place, it has that cozy and warm feeling with cute interiors.

Food 4.5/5 : Being one of the oldest dessert places in Bangalore, it really lived upto its name. We ordered bubble waffle with icecream, mango icecream bowl, dry fruits icecream, hot chocolate fudge, sizzling brownie with vanilla icecream(their signature item), pista milkshake, blueberry cheese cake. They all tasted amazing especially the brownie and the cheesecake(extremely creamy).Loved the quality and quantity

Cost 4/5 : Reasonable for their service, quality and quantity

Overall 5/5 : Definitely a must visit place and I would go there anytime

If the first visit was really disappointing, the second visit was about the same. Who puts watery mayo, COLD veggies right out of the fridge and very light, airy buns to a lamb burger whose patty is nothing but a cutlet that they would serve you for about 50 bucks less. And the ‘orange’ milkshake? It’s just orange flavoured powder that’s added to milk and blended, a flavour the 90s kids and older will be very familiar with. The only saving grace from 2 visits was the bubble waffles which were really good, especially when paired with the ice cream. I guess that’s the only decent stuff they got.

I went to Lakeview twice. The first time was spectacular (5/5), the texture of the sundae had a nice crunch and creamy balance. It was neither too sweet nor bitter. The second time was horrendous (2/5), the sundae was overwhelmingly bitter and turned me off.
Mehnosh Ruttonji
If you want a nice drive and have an ice cream this is the place, they even serve food in your car ... nothing that great about this place and the ice cream are very normal.. the cheese chilly toast was no good.. but I will go to this place again as I want to try other ice cream..

This place has been there since 1930 and is one of the most legendary outlets in Bangalore. Whenever you cross it at night, you will see so many cars lined up, ordering food from this place.

I'd been meaning to try this place for quite some time .
I ordered a hot chocolate fudge.
The bowl was wet, the ice cream was 70% melted and watery and the dish looked so depressing overall. I would've usually asked for a replacement but the look of the dish made me sad more than angry and I just ate the non melted portion of the ice cream anyway.
I was sitting and staring at the watery mess that remained in the bowl and i thought i need to go to the manager/staff and complain to him.

When I did, they started saying how the fudge is supposed to be hot and it melts the ice cream. Firstly, it wasn't hot when I received it. Secondly, it was already mostly melted .

The waiter who had served us was an old man who came and started putting the blame on us saying how we'd been sitting with the dish for more than half an hour. It had only been 10-15 minutes.

This angered me. I'm going and politely telling them that I didn't like the dish for which I am paying so much. And they put the blame on me rudely.

The manager offered another fudge but I didn't want to accept.

Anyway, I didn't understand what the whole hype about this place is. The food isn't good.
And the service was pathetic.

A really bad experience overall.
Maithreyi Gowda
This is one of the legendary places which is the oldest outlet in Bangalore!

Visited this place for on a chilled Sunday evening for some dessert and snacks.

We ordered a NUTELLA CHEESECAKE which was okayish as the cake at the bottom had a sour taste.

Next we ordered BANANA WAFFLE WITH ICECREAM AND NUTELLA since there was no banana available there was no base and the quality of the waffle was bad and they didn’t even apply Nutella to the waffle and the Icecream was icy !

SALTED FRIES was okayish and again CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE was not at all like a milkshake it was just like they have added cocoa powder to milk and served it cold.

Definitely the quality of this place has been deteriorating !!
Satyajeet Mukherjee
What to tell about this place .... it’s one stop destination for a perfect hangout in heart of Bangalore ... this is one of the oldest and best.. their quality has never dipped .. the staffs are rendering service with a smiling face even late at night ... feel home 🏠 whenever I come to Bangalore I make it a point to visit this place at night after dinner for desert 💖

Best place to chill out with friends and fam in the weekends , but patience is virtue so wait for ur turn cuz the place gets very crowded on weekend nights, cheesecake are worth trying along side the regular sundaes .
Rakesh Pasupathy
Be prepared to enter into a retro place that's been here in namma Bangalore since the 30s. I came here with my parents who've been coming here since their 20s!!
An amazing place.. the vibe is real good, more like a casual chill vibe and the menu is actually real good.
I really love the Roast Lamb and the ice creams!! If you happen to visit check out the omeletes and the every timers.
The place is real good with their ice creams and also have a good set of menu for their waffles. It's a real good place for if you're hanging out and chilling with your friends or even if you're going for an evening snack with your family .
Bala Bhargav Kavuluri
Had been to this place today, Classic and beautiful, most of the people are going to first floor... I had ordered milkshake and bubble waffle. Waiters are polite. Had few insects on ground floor.

Inshort: Classic place. Food is okay...I May visit once again.
Pavithra Kumar Bandi
Peri peri chicken burger is my fav. Waffles are fantastic. They should improve on service to give a fine customer experience.
Late evening drive and an icream will make your day!!
Gopal Krishna M R
Icecream taste was very classy!! but quantity doesnt make justice for the money paid, service was okay.
We had Brownie Sizzler Sundae, Dry Fruit Sundae icecreams both tasted good and chocolate milkshake was okay, but price was bit more on higher side, would suggest pricing should be in accordance with quantity, Ambience was good and typical old style Bengaluru restaurant
Essakkiappan
The one late night hangout spot in the heart of the city MG Road. Not only on weekends but also on the weekdays it’s available till 1-1:30AM. Must try the crispy bubble waffles here
Jessamine
Had a salted caramel sundae ice cream. It was vanilla ice cream topped with some gooey salted caramel and peanuts. It was pretty decent, although I think most people would have an issue with the amount of salt that they had added. Since I add extra salt on everything, I didn't mind as much. The service is nice and quick, but I think they could expand their menu to include more ice cream items. It was quite basic and places like Corner House or Art of Delight offer way more choice for the same price.
Neha Bellavar
Though this place is jam packed most of the days I still do love coming here, This is the one of the ice cream parlour which hasn’t changed in years. Love their signatures.
Kuldeep Singh
The taste has suffered drastically. Another negative is the guy at the cash counter, the one with the fancy moustache and specs. He is extremely rude and not fit to handle customers who come from far and wide. There are far better places with smiling and welcoming staff and better tasting desserts than this place.
Varun Goel
One of the oldest ice cream joints in Banglore. Good thing is the prices for the ice creams and shakes are pocket friendly. Me and my wife had sizzling brownie, it was delicious and the brownie was just wooww.
Sawan Kumar Salhotra
Decent place for late night desserts. We tried savoury dishes alongwith desserts. The chicken cutlet was good but had less salt. The veg cutlet was very oily and full of green chillies. Pineapple pastry was fresh and soft. Pineapple shake was appropriately thick. Hot chocolate fudge was the best.
DCautionGurl
Yay!!! It was the best cheese cake I ever had and the Friday specials were mangoes with yummy ice cream with all the flavours on it... This place has always been the favourite ice cream for my dad n mee!!
Anusha
Nice place and huge varieties to choose from.. But unfortunately, the pineapple and chocolate sundaes were not satisfying.. Too much of dryfruits including cashew which didn't go well overall..
The Hip Foodies
The best place to drop in for fresh icecreams! One of the old places which started the famous “sizzling brownie sundae”!!! We still go back here when we crave for one and though they have renovated the place, the icecream flavours are still the old school delicious!

Our favourites are fig and honey flavour and of course, the rum and raisin ❤️
Akhila Seeba
This place must be a childhood favourite of every Bangalorean ...some stuff never changes in its taste its just amazing especially the dry fruits special & lychee with ice cream it was yummy....
Chachakikulfi
I have no idea how come this ice cream parlour has such a big name... ice cream was not good... fruits were not fresh... ice cream flavour taste was bad.. burger was ok ok... all the things where expensive compare to the quality... second time I experienced I had and again it was a bad one... increase your quality, taste and presentation none of these are worth at present.
Palvinder Singh
Expectations were high, as it is an legendary outlet but highly disappointed after visiting there. Took parcel of their RED VELVET PASTRIES. Too much soggy sponge and very less pastry cream did not done justice to this pastry. Pricing is too high as compared to portion.
Suryakiran S
The legacy dates back to 1920's where in it was the first ice cream parlor of the city. The taste of the ice cream touches the soul. They also serve pizza, burger. I love the waffles over here. They are just too good. The ambience is very nice. Pastries and slices are luttle expensive though.
Sathya Krishna
A good place to visit to have some amazing ice creams.

I had a brownie fudge which was pretty good, even the honeymoon special and dry fruit special was good.

The service was quick but the only problem is that getting parking is very difficult but the good thing they give service to the car.

Its definitely a must visit place.
Pialy
While the food is at best mediocre, the icecream sundaes do not do justice to the claim of it being such a legendary icecream parlour. The peach melba icecream sundae has been twisted to some sort of a mix of icecream flavours which do not blend together at all, entirely killing the peachy flavour in the process. While compromising with the food, the customer also finds himself at the receiving end of unfriendly behaviour of the staff. The pricing is on the steeper side and one could easily find better options of taste, quality and staff behaviour at this cost or maybe lesser.
Dolly KS
This is a very old dessert place but doesn't fail to impress you. It has a good menu. They are various options you can choose from. Once I had been there with my family on a Sunday night, They also have car service.
Jegadesh Prabu
I would not recommend this place to anyone, poor service and sky rocketing prices for no reason! Total waste of money and experience! Joke in the name of legendary places! Wish there was an option to give less than 1 star
Harshit Singh
Very expensive for the quality/quantity of ice cream and way too long serving time. There are many other good ice cream shops nearby which is much better than this shop. It used to be a good place for ice cream lovers but now it has just turned into a over crowded shop where waiters don’t give a damn . Since there are not many tables majority of the people are also forced to take parcel orders from the counter . Reason being they don’t allow dine in order directly from the counter. You need to approach the waiters for dine-in orders .
Ayushi Singh
Worst service I’ve ever experienced, it’s a shame in the name of legendary places! Servers and the manager have this don’t care attitude, and oh my god the prices! 297 Rs for a small bowl of one scoop vanilla ice cream and 4-5 shredded mango pieces, I wanted to ask them is this some kind of a joke? Moreover it was swarmed by people all pleading the servers to take orders only to get ignored! Their ice creams are good only if they stop looting and disrespecting customers. I will never go to this place again even if it’s the last ice cream shop on earth!
Alok Chauhan
The place makes you feel like they're the ones paying you for the food. You have to stand outside/sit inside and wait until one of the servers feels the need to serve you, or you beg every one of them passing you to take notice of your existence and feel the need to serve you. Saw multiple people being humiliated by the servers ignoring their requests to take the order and walk by. Just Amazing, the attitude!

There's nothing to speak home of the food, it's mediocre at best and service the absolute fail!

It only allows a picture but would've put a video of humiliation that awaits you at the place!
