Love the idea of the terrace garden restaurant... We were there for my bothers wedding reception... Food and arrangements were fine... Nice location just infront of metro line... Love the food , Love the environment... Only thing they can improve is the washrooms and the timing ,it was only opened till 11pm ...

Had gud experience, great decorations... Very specious, only we had lift issue as it had 6 member capacity in which only 5 member can join security and use that lift.... Rest everything was very gud.

Attended my Nephew's Engagement. Serene atmosphere. Good food but slight spicy. Nice evening with Santoor Music By Late Shiv Kumar Sharma.

A restaurant I've visited often. In the late 70s and 80s it used to be a happening place, with a lot of crowd and good food. When I last visited in 2017, the charm seemed to be lost for me. However it still has a dedicated clientele and remains busy for most of the day. It is easily accessible, located as it is bang in the centre og Mahatma Gandhi Road, a still very busy shopping, business and food district in spite of several new establishments that have come up in the suburbs over the last 4 decades.

Old world charm in the al fresco place - down right to heavy iron chairs. Service was speedy and good, and food was good, as usual. It would be a great place in the evenings while listening to the Metro roar past and soaking up the well lit MG Road

Nice place located in Public Utility Building, 2nd floor, MG Road. It's suitable for get together of 150-200 people. It has sufficient parking space Food is good both veg and non veg. Ambiance is very nice. The open balcony area is very good in evening time with cool breeze

Had few old friends get-togethers here and every time we opted for this as it is one of best the cost-effective rooftop restaurant.<br/>Even though food is not attractive but taste was good enough and felt like few desserts were served stale once.<br/>Location - 4<br/>Service - 4<br/>Space - 5<br/>Quality - 4<br/>

Had been here on a Sat afternoon. Its a rooftop restaurant apt for peaceful conversations. The seating is worn out and needs a change . Service was good. Servers were polite.<br/><br/>Food ordered<br/>Soup : Hot and Sour Chicken Soup<br/>Starter : Veg Seekh Kabab , Gobhi Manchurian<br/>Main Course : Naan , Machchi Begum Bahar<br/><br/>Hot and Sour Chicken soup was decent. Veg Seekh Kabab was dry and little salty for my liking. Gobhi Manchurian was average. Machchi Begum Bahar was a medium spicy boneless fish gravy. It was really good. Its a must try ! Naan was good and went well with the gravy.<br/><br/>Overall , Canopy is a place with average food and ambience that can be visited if looking for a peaceful restaurant around M.G. Road.

Good food for the price. Quantity of food is more so can share the dish. Terrace dining. Great place for casual dinner with friends. Ample parking space. Service was good.

Its awesome place.<br/>I had Nikah function over there, and I had very good experience.<br/>All the arrangements were done with very high care.<br/>Food was very awesome both non veg and veg.<br/>Owner of Canopy Restaurant(Sayed) took all the care for smooth execution of function.<br/>I Thank from bottom of my heart to Sayed and team for such a awesome experience.<br/>I would definitely suggest this place for any kind of functions like Valima, Engagement and many others

This was a great place to go to at one time but it's deteriorated miserably in terms of quantity and quality. The ambience is still nice but a big no no for the food here

Used to visit canopy regularly more than a decade ago. Back then it was fairly good given the competition it had, the ambience and generally the spread. Having been stuck in a limbo on all the aspects canopy can't be fondly called as a go to buffet place anymore. The food is average and given that the investment going into the restaurant seems very minimal by the look and feel of the furniture and cutlery it's just headed south all the way.

We went canopy with office staff at night. We found it surprise at 9.30 pm no one was in hotel. We are only 6 people in whole hotel. Veg Food was ok....

Canopy is a 50 year old restaurant in mg road.. i went there with my team for a buffet lunch.. since they do not get much guests, they will start cooking once you reach.. expect your lunch to be 1.5 hours long atleast.. broken chairs, glasses is a common sight.. u will have to ask waitors whether they have served u plain rice or fried price..
Aditya Tokala
Worst food i have ever eaten. The food was stale and tasteless.Even though the place is great to relax and enjoy, the management is an utter failure!
Faraz Shariff
Canopy is a really good<br/>Place to sit and relax UR meal , the quality of the food was good , but the staff were extremely bad , they dint have the decency of replying back to question which we were asking them , their serving way was very bad . Beautiful location to sit and spend the evening , but with better staff , it would b the best place !

Used to frequent this place before. Standards dropped a lot the last time I visited. Its a cheap buffet place.. Limited variety, limited quality, limited service.

This place is not familiar to much people. As it situated in utility building, the view from there is amazing. I have visited there twice for the buffet lunch. They don't have much varieties of food. Taste is average but they provide excellent service. The chairs and tables and plates are very old fashioned and it creates an effect to the restaurant.

Reasonable buffet for 300 bucks u gt a lot of variety taste is also fine but service was ordinary and anyways wat would u expect from such a cheap priced buffet place... Allover id say its worth a try gr the price and food

I've been coming to this place since I was a kid since this place caters to weddings as well. The food especially the biryani is to die for the fish and Tiger prawns are worth a try the desserts especially the blueberry cheese cake is too good!!!. Overall I give it a 5/5. Cheers

It's a nice place. Fresh air, the tables are arranged between bars of creepers<br/>Food is good, service is bad. Boring music. Could be more lively. <br/>

Been there today luch time with the team. I have no idea how this restaurant is surviving with the food they serve. My personal note is except for the Roti and Dal Curry and to and extant the Ice-Cream ( how can anyone make a mistake in this) the rest of the buffet menu was C**P. The food was cold , not tasty at all. Not worth the 295/plate they charged us. The ambience was rusty and old. They really need to find an angle investor to clean up their act and get people to really appreciate the food.I do not recommend this place.

Quality food, in sufficient quantity and great value for money! That's how I'll summarize our family's visit to this place yesterday... .dedicated parking available so no issues on that front. <br/>rest food doesn't need any review, very comforting and ambient place.

Once upon a time in Bangalore, this place was considered elite and top notch. <br/>Sadly, its lost its lustre completely. <br/>The recent visit to the restaurant for a wedding party was an absolute let down. <br/>The place is quite dirty. The carpets are stinking. The loos are dirty. The food was bad. The veg biryani was stinking. Paneer was as hard as an eraser. There was a peculiar smell in all food like as though not fresh. Kind of recycled food. <br/>I am sure that the management can do much better if they can muster the advantages that they have banked on i.n the past.
Foodpanda
I would have rated it 0 if I had a option, had the worst food of my life.please save ur money and more importantly ur taste buds by not visiting.

What I like personally about this joint is its setting. Bengaluru weather is pleasant compare to other cities.<br/><br/>However the wintery evenings have a nip in the air. These guys help you with a small angeti (dunno if they still do) for keeping the food warm.<br/><br/>Dal, roti and non veg starters in the cold evenings definitely keep you warm.
Satish Hatti
Pros:Buffet price is very less , which is very good seeing the vareties of food served there.<br/>and the view of MG road adds to it especially during the weekend evenings.<br/><br/>Cons:Not many options if you are a vegetarian.

Man just cause its old and little famous we went 3times every time more dissapointed then the previous time , Cmon they charge 250+ for buffet the food is crappy oly few items are eatable odrs are just not too gud go early to get fresh food or else itll dry up and thats all i can say open terrace metro view mg road view are the oly things which i can give thumbs up they can improve on food and desserts by taking down customers review and keeping the food which is gud and its a must visit for couples u will love the privacy and the view and everything else!!
La.rakesh
Except for the location and average ambiance.. its a sad place..... very very bad service.... <br/>Even though its not crowded the service is so bad that we need to wait for 5 to 10mins for one item to be served. <br/>Need to improve a lot to attract customers and sustain. .....

Had a family function here the food was just ok and especialy achari chicken was pethetic n staff was never ready to change that dish even after complaining about the dish

Canopy is one of those inconspicuous restaurants in the most conspicuous of places - MG Road. Located in the Utility Building complex, adjacent to and above Fame Shankarnag Theatre (old Symphony theatre). An old, stuffy capsule lift or a winding, pan-stained staircase leads you up to the restaurant.<br/><br/>It is a terrace restaurant with 2 or 3 different covered seating areas and a couple of banquet halls. The view offered is that of the MG Road skyline on one side and the Metro on the other. At times, when the weather is a typical B'lore one, the view, the weather and a lovely breeze together, make for a great ambience, especially on the days when the food is great. <br/><br/>The Canopy Buffet has a pretty decent spread and is very competitively priced as well. But is highly prone to inconsistency and there are days when some of the items are simply disappointing. The buffet spread includes :-<br/>1) Soup (usually don't taste, but is not worth mentioning) and some basic salads.<br/>2) 5-6 starters (maybe more). The Chicken starters like Tikkas are more often than not, good and tasty. A Fish Kabab on 1 occasion was damn good. Veg ones are regular, nothing exceptional.<br/>3) Biriyani - Pretty much the most consistent item -in its presence in the buffet and taste-wise. Quite flavourful and tasty.<br/>4) Other rice items.<br/>5) 3-5 gravy items. Some of them good ones, others are listless.<br/>6) 2-3 regular desserts like Gulab jamun with ice-cream etc. Tasty though.<br/><br/>I have also attended a few functions in their banquet halls and the food on offer on all the occasions was quite good.<br/><br/>VFM :- Quite reasonable for the Location+ambience > spread > food. Their a la carte prices seem quite economical and the items are supposedly quite good as well. I haven't tried any though.<br/><br/>Verdict :- Has history, serves average++ food, great location and ambience, but inconsistent. There is potential for vast improvement in terms of offerings and in maintaining a consistency, as seen from my banquet experiences.

I should try biriyani the best in the city. Ambience superb.

We were there on a Saturday evening at abt 8.30. It was completely vacant. The food is ok. No mutton items at all. 3-4 varities of chicken is served. Fish kabab is really tasty. Biryani is ok. Pudding is good. But veggies beware u"ll be at loss as not many veg items are available. Ambience is very good. So its like ok-ok situation.

We have booked Lunch Buffet for 25 persons. Lot of promises at the beginning. but the experience was too poor. <br/><br/>1) Soup served in cold condition & filled with 1/4 th cup & even not served to all. 2) Biriyani was without mutton. 3) Butter chicken masala was without chicken, only gravey 4) Fish Fry , Chilly Chicken never replenished. Method applied is - when it is empty replenished in very small quantity & delay the process , so people will take something else. when checked with Manager Mr. Jhon he will just say 1 min sir, & will never come back. His attitude is totally negative .Over all experience is very bad. Not value for money. Service & behavior of the staff was also very bad. More over they quote for children ( upto 7 yrs ) is 1/2 price. But when billed, charged for 200 for each child. There is no management available to talk for.<br/><br/>Will never repeat the place. Would rate some where minus 10.

The old school restaurant of Bangalore. Once upon a time THE place to go to! The location is fantastic. Bang in the middle of MG Road (next to all those utility buildings - mayo hall etc.). Has a cramped parking and pan stained floors to get up to but once up there, the view is good, the breeze is plentiful and the food is sumptuous. <br/><br/>They have regular food options which are fairly decent. But nothing extra ordinary to write home about. I mean, they have their chaats and tikkas and kebabs, good enough biryani. Decent enough fresh desserts. I guess thats about it! For nostalgia's sake do give it a try!

Ambience : Bad. Horrible is only more precise. It feels like you just came to a famous place which has been closed fir several years. And it definitely was famous once. Very old age look and not in a good way. The place is literally deserted. The food for the buffet is arranged in the same way like you find in Indian Weddings .<br/><br/>Service: Bad Bad Bad. The waiters don't attend you until called for. Further a lot of arrogance there. We had opted for a "Buffet" and then later when they couldn't prepare enough they said that the veg starters were limited while the non veg were unlimited. And they were arrogant about it.<br/><br/>Food: Well this was a little different. The chicken was well cooked. Both the starters and the main course was well made not sure about the veg though but the dal was good too. Also the deserts were good. It was Gulab Jamun with Vanilla Ice cream and it was GOOD.<br/><br/>Canopy : Please update yourself with the real world around.

Good place, prefect Ambience, satisfied taste buds and open roof makes the place more commendable. <br/>We ordered for 3 non veg buffet and a veg buffet. The snacks they served was delicious specially Chicken tikka and Paneer tikka. <br/>The main course had variety of dishes. All in all its a good restaurant + concomitant atmosphere + delicious food. <br/>Service : 4.5<br/>food : 4.5<br/>Ambience : 4.5<br/>overall : 4<br/>The only thing that might bother u can be the metros that constantly crosses at a distance of 25mts from u.<br/>Happy visit. . :)

Good place for a romantic date. Dim lights, open roof top and cool breeze are all too good to resist.<br/>Value (ambience + food ) >> amount spent;

Had been here last week, the food was cold and the taste was not up to the mark. The staff are very good and the view is just amazing with open top and in the heart of the city. I can give only 3, just for the location and staff..

After years of hearing about Canopy, I got the chance of going there a week or so ago. My friend was throwing her birthday lunch treat there! Since I was going to MG Road after years, I didn't know where to park so ended up parking near Symphony. I wish I had known that Canopy had their own parking.<br/><br/>When I went upstairs I was pleasantly surprised. An open air restaurant in the middle of MG road and not crowded at all on a Saturday evening!! Since there were around 11 of us we opted for the buffet. Seating is nice and the open air arrangement adds to the charm of the place. <br/><br/>We started the buffet with the fresh kebabs and boy was I blown away by the Mutton Sheekhs. They were so juicy, soft and tender that they melted as soon as I took a bite. Probably the best sheeks I have had in a long time. There were around 3 different kinds of kebabs, 1 Mutton and 2 Chicken. They also had some egg chilly and mutton sukkha which I heard were good too. I couldn't try them out as I was busy finishing the sheeks. <br/><br/>The spread for the main course was quite grand with around 3-4 dry dishes and 3-4 gravies, both veg and non-veg. I stuck to the non veg and had chilli chicken, and 2 gravies which were quite decent. Roti and Nans were fresh and soft. I heard the Paneer and Daal were also quite good. Along with the main course they had also served Pasta, Noodles, Aaloo Tikkis and other stuff. For dessert they had really good Gulab Jamoons, Ice cream, a couple of other sweets. There was just too much to eat and I couldn't go for all coz of my binging on the sheeks. <br/><br/>Quality of food was really good and all of it tasted real fresh. The service was fast. And the buffet cost us just around Rs.400 per person!!! I had a great time there and would love to go for the buffet again! Worth every penny!

We have been to this CANOPY restaurant in the month of Aug. They have give us an open space.<br/>Though they say it is buffet, but the starter is served on the table only.<br/>The manager is not good.<br/>Though we have booked early the timings , still dinner was not ready that time.<br/>Food taste is not good. Not recommendable.

This is a worst restaurant I have seen in bangalore . Its really pathetic . They do not serve tasty food . The nov veg items they serve is really of worst taste . The have only 3 non veg items for buffet - Chilly chicken , Mughal Chicken , barbeque chicken . <br/><br/>Chilly chicken : They serve chinese style and it will not be warm , seems like they serve before day's left out chicken . Its not a even spicy . Disgusting :-(<br/><br/>Mughal Chicken : This is prepared during mughal's period . Its a kinda different taste which cannot be expressed .<br/><br/>Barbeque chicken : There are no words to express about it .<br/><br/>Ofcsourse chicken biryani was only the tasty one .<br/><br/>The main thing is " They do not allow people to finish off their lunch , they take away the plates while eating without asking "<br/>Pls avoid this place

I have been to Canopy 4-5 times, but not recently. The restaurant has been around for a few decades I think. It is in the Utility building on MG road, in the heart of the city. They have a open root type dining area as well covered one, which is mostly used for buffet. I have tried both the lunch as well as the dinner buffet. Back in the days, when there were not many buffet options, this used to be a very good choice. The buffets are not very expensive, but at the same time do not have a very lavish spread. The A-la-carte section is pretty decent too. The food is of good quality and tasty, leaving no room for any complaints in that area. Many people swear by their Biryani being one of the better ones you can find in the city. Overall a not too fancy place in the cbd, decent, not too expensive, with good food and ample parking.
Aarti Kamath
I had been here ages back... I don't quite know if it is still the same. But the Buffet is widespread. However, the taste is just average. Also, I don't think an Al-a-Carte would be a good idea either as there is nothing signature about their food or place..<br/><br/>Pros: Heart of the City. Garden Ambiance. Responsive staff. They have an evening buffet which is slightly better than the noon.<br/><br/>Cons: Taste-wise there are other buffets in the vicinity at same or lower price. Nothing cozy about the place.<br/><br/>Recommended: Team outings, Kitty Parties.
Vikas MU
Positives: Prime location and nice roof top ambiance.<br/>Negatives: Taste of food,Chicken under cooked and no flavors. <br/>Not worth spending Rs 350 for the food that you get at this place.
