Review Bhartiya Jalpan - Bengaluru

Binu Ann Mathew
The food is great and served in good portions. I thoroughly enjoyed the sweets. FYI - the toilet is leaking, unclean and badly maintained.

For me its the best place to eat in commercial market. If you are north indian, they you will get good snacks options here like bhel poori, dahi poori, papdi chaat, cholle bhature, dahi bhalle, kachori and lot more. The main issue here is that they have very less sitting area on ground floor. They have more area on first floor as compared to ground floor but still its less.
Shikha Shelly
I visited twice last year and loved everything I ordered. The service was good. I recommend trying the corn basket and the chaat platter.
SHINY SANTHU

Been there for an early breakfast at 9.30 AM. Mostly empty and floors were getting cleaned. Tried their chili cheese sandwich and poori sabji. All items were fresh warm and delicious. Stuffs were courteous. Also have varieties of sweet and mixture, would definitely visit again.

Quick service and just delicious food. I highly recommend the Dehi puri and Chole kulcha. Your heart and taste buds will thank you.
Joyce Charles
Amazing food. The staff were very courteous and helpful.

Nice place to get some tasty chole bhatura, snacks, sweets and chats. Not very crowded as there is a first floor seating area. Try the saffron Chai and coffee amongst others, to enjoy your further shopping experience at commercial street.
balaji viswanathan
One of the best Chole Batura in Bangalore. Quick service and can have a bite peacefully in the always busy commercial street. Sweets are good too. Worth trying.

Bhartiya Jalpan is one such place in Namma Bengaluru who started serving Chole Bhature and North Indian chats when there was no much fuss about it. Chole Bhature were simply good, right on masala and tanginess. Fluffy bhatura with achar was delicious. Raj Kachori is one of my favourite chat, and I am very picky about it, Bhartiya Jalpan surprised me by it taste, I'll definitely visit Bhartiya Jalpan again for Raj Kachori for sure. And, ginger tea is best to end the meal and destress from the shopping.

This outlet of Bhartiya Jalpan is located on one of the busy streets of Commercial Street, Tasker town. We tried Pav Bhaji, Chhole Bhature, Dahi Puri Chaat and Filter Coffee. Except Pav Bhaji, everything tasted good. Pocket friendly prices. Quick service.
Yadnyesh Juvekar
Went for breakfast, they serve one of the best Chole Bhature.

A very nice place to have north Indian food.

BHARTIYA JALPAN - an amazing place to indulge into flavours that we have grown up eating! Finding such a place staying in south is a blessing! From their - Aalo Tikki chaat, Samosa chaat, chole bhature, parathas, elachi dum chai (served in a kullad) is all worth a try! You will surely relish each and every bite of it! When it comes to the sweets - they are quiet close in delivering that taste as well. People from the North and East region..Go, Explore, Indulge! 🤗 #foodlove #bhartiyajalpan #relish & #love

Fancy and expensive chatwala. A plush bungalow converted in restaurant. Tasty snacks no doubt. Inside seating (AC section) is closed till 7pm. Indeed a minus point on a summary day.
Gaurav Maheshwari
It was great at one point of time. Quality has degraded since then drastically.

Awesome food from chat to dessert.... All so yumm.... Try the kesar masala tea it's so delightful with full of kesar!!
Ramachandran Srinivasan
Nice place with a good ambience. Decent for its cost. Waiters were friendly. No complaints. A bit crowded, but was good.
Madhu L Reddy
Ambience is awesome! And the quality of food is great! Prices are as per the place. And it's cleanliness 😊
Balakrishnan Raghavan

My first visit..Had mini meals....very tasty and stomach filling too! Quick service. Provided water bottle in the package. Liked the bhoondi raita.
Jyothi Lakshmi Vaidyanathan
Excellent, tasty food! But thaali should be served in metal plates and not in cheap looking yellow sectioned plates!
Andy Rimmer
Wonderful service by Mr Jhonson and his colleagues, together with excellent food. We willl certainly be returning and will tell all our family and friends around the world of our memorable experience. Thanks guys!

Feel of home away home.Taste of Northern delicies in south in lively ambience.

It was an average experience having North Indian dishes here. There are definitely better places with inexpensive menus. The menu on zomato is not updated. Prices have been revised. Food was a bit oily.

We ordered this kachori with aloo from Bhartiya jalpan. I was very excited as I like almost everything here . I am from Delhi and I was not getting this kachori with Sabzi anywhere . When I saw it here I got very happy. I was happy to see their packaging also . I liked their sabzi however main thing that is kahori was not up to the mark . Kahori was not crispy . It was soggy . Won’t try it again . If anyone know where I can get good crispy kachori with sabzi in Banglore them please suggest .
Mohit
Taste is good. It'll remind you of your home if you are a north indian but the only limiting factor is the price. It's overly priced for the quantity they give But a must visit place in Bangalore
Monisha
The chole bhature from this place has become my staple Saturday morning breakfast. Its not perfect - the chole recipe seems to change from one week to another - but the bhature are generally decent and authentic, not the baking soda raised kind, the portion size is ideal and there's a nice little pickle that accompanies it. The jalebis are usually thin and crisp and pleasant. This will do until I find a place that gets the chole right.

Bhartiya Japan is for people who are craving for north Indian delicious food.
I personally give 10 stars to this place.
Sangita Dutta
I got delivery food which was awesome I love that
Tushar Kumar
Very nice food quality available here. With a lot of variety
Amit
The Ras malai was good, it was soft along with the flavour of saffron. Bhartiya jalpan never fails to amaze with the food they offer. The gulab jamun is must try fro
this place

Food was very very salty. Over hyped place with very high prices and worst food. Their quantity is also vey less, you can see in the image the amount of cholla they have given to be eaten with bhatura. I ordered via zomato, the food was very salty to be consumed by normal person but instead zomato customer executives rather than helping me either get refund or replacement, asked me to ignore and were not ready to help. Avoid. Surely pathetic customer support and behaviour towards customer when someone has paid.
I am also posting the screenshot with Zomato executive, which I know for sure these guys will take down to save themselves. Really Disappointed with restaurant and zomato.

Taste is Decent. But quantity is too low for the prices they charge. Not worth the taste. Can get better taste in my locality at a way cheaper price.

They have tasty food. It's very pricey for the quantity. I paid 114 for the Aloo tiki Chaat and I was disappointed to find one Tikki and curd. That's it. For this price it should have atleast two Aloo tikis I mean come on. Also the pav bhaajis good. Good portion but still 130 or so for a plate. The dahi puri was good with 6 puris per plate. Please put another Aloo tiki for the Chaat. To match the price.

One of those days when I wasn't in a mood to cook and happened to come across Bhartiya Jalpan on Zomato. Hence, I ordered Chole Kulche for lunch.
Timely delivery.
The portions were good and the taste was mind-blowing. The Chole was bang on.. full of flavours.. It reminded me of the flavourful food I've indulged in during my trips to Delhi and Punjab.
Will definitely be ordering again.
Also, a value for money meal.

I haven't been to this place but have gotten food delivered a couple of times. Although I don't post reviews for food delivery since the food quality and dining experience may not shine through for a number of reasons. However, this place has always managed to deliver such great food that I decided to put a review here and appreciate them. I've ordered their lunch thaalis and have gotten food from the a- la - carte menu too. Everything has always been well prepared. Love their Daal and paneer preparations in the main course. Highly recommend if good lunch/dinner thaali or good north Indian food is what you are looking for (the food is not exactly homely however so keep that in mind! )

Food is very less 😡😡

After a good amount of calorie burning shopping spree on commercial street... the next thing you want is good meal. And we landed up at this place... After reading the history which is rich and carries its own legacy. This place lives up to the name and heritage nah taste and food quality. Ordered kachori bhaji (comes 3 in number and served with panch foran ki sabji) takes you back in childhood days. Jeera rice and rajma will remind you of Delhi (served with some potato chips). Food quantity is ample to energize you for next round of shopping. You will have to pay and order on ground floor and help your self in sitting area on 1st floor. Over all good experience. Looking fwd to visit the 2nd outlet in Indira Nagar. Happy eating.

Really liked dahi kachori chaat and chole bhature. Though i found it a bit overpriced, it was worth every penny.

Bharatiya Jalpaan is a pure veg chaat and sweet shop located in Commercial street. Its a multi storied building with sweets available on the ground floor and seating on the first floor for having delicious chaats and parathas. They are very old in the market and has been an established brand from 1945 based out of gurgaon. It has made sure that customers keeps coming back by maintaining the same quality in products, and that these provide the best value for the money spent. The nearest metro station is MG road which is around 1 km away.

Its ever popular chaat counter continues to attract customer of all ages, as no one is able to resist the fragrant aromas of samosas, kachoris, tikkis and jalebis, wafting from live counters to entice the olfactory senses.

I would reccomend everyone to try their pani puris, tikki chaat, paneer paratha, aloo pyaaz paratha, poori with subzi, badam milk, rasmalai and other lipsmacking sweets!
Overall, a good place to hangout with family and friends after shopping at commercial street!

I would suggest the management to have service instead of self service as we need to keep climbing down the stairs to get the orders! This is very painful as the steps are steep and difficult for senior citizens as well.
Chandana
Tasty sweets big treat for those who have sweet tooth.. Bit pricey on the chats and the combos... loved their Badam kesar milk it was just amazing.. Best shop for sweets for sure.. Chats could be better for the price.. overall 6/10
Rahul
So we visit this place at least once a week to have the awesome chaats that these guys make .. They have two floors, both of which are self service. The first level is where u get the chats and the second level is where u get Pav Bhaji , Chole batura etc ..
must try here - Pani Puri, Dahi Puri , Samosa Chat and Pav Bhaji

Good food
Sowmya
A clean and decent enough place that serves simple North Indian food and chaat. It’s situated on Commercial Street. The rajma chawal was filling but bland, a friend ordered channa masala chawal which turned out to be a lot more flavourful. The buttermilk and the lassi are very good.

Bharatiya Jalpan has opened up in Commercial street. Had heard a lot about this place from my dad, after he had been to the one in Indiranagar. We tried the Samosa and it had a hair on it. Was totally turned off. But they apologized and replaced it. So it was okay. We tried the Chole Kulcha and it was amazing. Loved it. My mom had the mutter poori and boy, she loved it. We loved the Aloo Subzi too. So so good! The Chole Batura was a let down. It was quite hard and not so great. My dad had a hard time, trying to just cut it. But on the whole, a decent place to go! Their theplas are amazing to take away!

Though food is good, i found prices to be on the higher side. If prices can be reduced a bit, then this can be preferred choice for people visiting commercial street given that there are very limited choices available there.
Sanjana Madhusudhan
Went here for the dhoklas. They have different varieties but I only tried two types. The first was the regular dhokla: soft and spongy with a good mix of side chutney. The second was the chilli dhokla which was good too. Wanted to try something different for a change so we picked the club kachori. It consists of small sized puris with a side of aaloo sabzi. I found it a bit bland but else it was good.

Bhartiye jalpan: Craving for the chat items or the popular sweet items? Head to this place to enjoy all these and much more. We tried paneer chilla which was made like a dosa with stuffed paneer. A must try is the ginger masala tea which is served in kulhad!
Swati
We usually order from bhartiya jalpan for authentic north indian taste food i like golgaape, chole bhature and all sweets from this place. Really like there special kesari tea. Its a must visit place for all who loves north indian food.

This is my second visit to BJP Bangalore. After shopping at Commercial Street, visiting this outlet for Chaat was something, we were looking forward to.
Since the place was not crowded, it looked neat, clean and hygienic.
We ordered for Chola Bhatura, Pav Bhaji, Sev Puri and Paneer Thali. I didnt like any of the meals as much.
Though, the prices were less and service was fast, but still taste was not that great.
Fathima Harris
Ran into this place while shopping at commercial street. Had their buttermilk and masala poori. It was actually pretty good! Service was quick, place looked hygenic. Really look forward to trying out their other chaats
Nikita Suresh
Good place for a quick snack if you are hungry from the day long shopping. The chaat was good and the place is clean. I recommend this place if you are coms street.
Shalu Jain
I took a packet of gol kachori from bharatiya jalpan commercial street. We found dead ants inside the packet on the kachoris. Now i know why anand sweets is mostly crowded!
Surbhi Rohatgi
We ordered Chole Bhature (1 pc) which was awesome and size of 1 bhatura is equal to 2. Papdi chaat and raj kachori were also good. Rasgulla is the bigger one (sponge) like you get in North India. Price is on a higher side. But everything is worth the price.
Abhishek Anand
Delightfully surprising!! One always felt that there is a serious lack of food options while shopping in Commercial street. Today while on the shopping spree we bumped into this outlet.
Ambience - Bang in the middle of a hustling market, you should not be expecting a Cosy and romantic place but the interiors are nicely done making it look larger than what it actually is.
Taste - Brilliant!! We ordered Chole-bhatoora, which was humongous (check the photo), Papdi chaat, raj kachori qand rasgulla. Everything was prepared to perfection. Right mix of ingredients and authentic taste. You can't ask for more.
Value for Money - No doubt 150/- for a chole bhatoore (single bhatoora) and approx 100 for each chat item is on the higher side, but you won't regret shelling out the money for such taste.
Service - Sparkling clean, quick and hassle free.

Overall - Must try!
Neena Lakhmani
The kachori and parathas were damn nice. Good place for North Indian chaats, snacks and meals after hectic shopping in comm street. 4 stars to this place.

I have been to BJP Indiranagar numerous times and the taste and quality of their food never fails to amaze me...I had been waiting to visit their new outlet and God is it good! Finger looking good...i tried their kulcha meal which comes with paneer and dal...this plate can compete with any of the top fine dining places in terms of taste! I am a tea person and not a milk person but on a friends recommendation tried their badam milk and am now wondering how I am not a milk person! If you have been to the other outlet you already know their pav bhaji, tikki chola are all time favourites. All in all you wont regret trying this place and once you do you will come back for more :)
Arpita Bose
A no frills, self service place in the heart of commercial street, ideal for shoppers preferring light eats, chaats or even thalis. We liked the masala Pepsi but the quantity was less. We ordered samosa & dhokla which were good with the chutneys on offer. Overall good & light on pocket.
Shekhar Gautam
Visited the place ..... amazing
Great chaats ....on a diet but could not resist the sweets ...badam milk is crazy .would really like to visit again.
Keep it up

Amazing food. Best in town for North Indian cuisine, especially their chaat and sweets. Highly recommended for all foodies. Impressive quality and hygiene too.
