On a working day visited Indiranagar and seen this place by luck. By seeing nati style preparation we have ordered mutton and kuska with chicken kebab. The special gowdru oota was too good. But the chicken kebab was not good at all for the charge of 130 bucks. Hygiene standards were good but the service standards need to be checked.

High spice levels on Kaima unde, well done Nalli Fry, good biryani rice, and on Sundays a welcome breakfast including paya soup

Exceptional place. Traditional Karnataka gowdru cuisine. The fact that they have kept it simple is why their food is good. I thoroughly enjoyed the food.
Delicious naati food here in Indiranagar, the mutton oota was pretty good. Service not the best, but focus on the food, and you'll come away a winner. I've been meaning to go here for a while now, and a relaxed Sunday afternoon lunch seemed perfect. It's kind of tough to get parking in the area, and the tigers are prowling perennially, so park with care. Shared a table with some other patrons, who mentioned that they've been coming here for ages and love the food. They ordered the mutton chops and mudde. I decided to try the Mutton beegara oota (wedding meal). It came with one mudde, one cup of biryani rice, and plate of mutton curry, and all the gravy /rasam/ salads you want. The mutton and the gravy were spot on, and I could keep eating it with the mudde /rice (which I did). The meat quantity wasn't huge, but it was delicious. I asked for a bheja fry repeatedly, but that never came. The regular patrons were probably getting better service, but I don't have any issues with that, as it's all about the food at such places. I'll be back for sure, the mutton chops, pepper chicken, biryani and mudde are beckoning. The biryani rice was surprisingly delicious, the texture and color made it seem insipid, but the flavors were robust and spot on. Was too bored of having North Indian cuisine for 3 consecutive weeks so wanted to try some Spicy South Indian cuisine. Other South Indian, Andhra outlets were ruled out because I've been there a lot too many times. I was searching for something Regional, Something very offbeat and then came to my rescue, this amazing restaurant. I just had a glance at their menu and decided that I will head there. People not from the locality would have a hard time finding this place if not supported with Google Maps.
Typically, Military style outlets are not places you expect to have fancy ambiance. We weren't expecting them to have one either. A small place with hardly 10 tables and a ceiling fan. That is it. It was lunch hour and you could find all tables filled with corporate employees.
The menu is very limited. There are a few items that are available only in the morning. For example Leg soup and Ragi mudde. We were 6 of us and we ordered

The Biryani s nothing like your Andhra style spicy Biryani. It was dry, not greasy and light. The aroma was mild and is more like your home made Biryani. The mutton was tender, would easily come off your fingers and was not too chewy. The Nati chicken was really tasty and well cooked.
The Chicken kabab was served hot. Not oily, the batter fried chicken was crunchy and delightful. The Mutton Keema balls are basically minced meat shaped into balls and cooked along with your mutton gravy. It was compact, dense and tasted good. To top it all, the food is served on plantain leafs. It enhances the flavour of the food all the more.
The service was lightning fast and the place is 10/10 value for money. Would definitely go here again.
I ordered a quick dinner of Ragi Mudde with Mutton Kheema balls masala. It was tad bit of extra masalas than I could tolerate but it was so yummy. Ragi mudde was still warm when I received it and well cooked. I am always scared of ordering-in Ragi mudde due to previous failures of cold and raw mudde. Overall a very good experience and will definitely order again.

Gives you that authentic Gowda flavours, and their pepper dishes are something to Drool for. I’ve never been a huge fan of Ragi ball, but have found a new liking to it after ordering food from this joint. I hear some folks complaining about quantity, not much of a concern to me as I prefer fine dining. Happy eating if you are into authentic Karnataka delicacies 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
If you are looking for something fancy, then this is not the place. But, if you are craving for some authentic delicious non-veg food, then you got it right.
Mutton Biryani, Brain Fry, Mutton Chops...try anything and your taste buds will be very satisfied and will crave for more.
Service is prompt. Pocket friendly but the quantity could be a little more for that price.
This is a hard to find place if you are not that frequent to Indiranagar. It's inside a small lane on Double Road, no flashy signboard or hoarding. Follow the map to reach there. Cars won't be able to go into the lane, better park it somewhere on the main road.
Gowdru hotel is the best place for biryani in Bangalore.
U can taste the authentic taste of true gowdas food up here.

One of the best biriyani places! The place is difficult to find. Pretty small with a few basic tables- chairs. Nothing much of an ambience, but their food makes up for it. We ordered mutton biriyani, mutton korma and mutton pepper. Good portion size and honest prices. Service is quick but can be more attentive. Mutton quality is really good! Falling off the bones variety! Would wait to visit again!!

A senior leader had come visiting at work and wanted to try some authentic Indian food, preferably local to the place.
We ensured he tried Kerala, North India and he tried a bit of Andhra Pradesh in the past. So what else can be more authentic and local than some Ragi Mudde (Finger millet dumplings popular among the farming communities in Karnataka) with some good curry to go with?
So we headed to Gowdru hotel for a quick meal.
If you are not familiar with the place, it isn’t easy to find. I could locate it easily as I stayed in Indiranagar for long and very familiar with the by roads.
Thankfully it wasn’t crowded as it was barely 1pm.
The restaurant has the ambience how it used to be. Basic chairs and tables to accommodate people who cared nothing but food.
We ordered Mutton Beegara oota, Ragi Muddey with Chicken curry, brain fry and “Thaley Maamsa masala”
The Mutton Beegara oota (By the way Beegara oota is a lavish post wedding feast) came with Ragi Mudde, chapatti, rice, mutton curry, a little mutton biryani and a boiled egg along with a couple of gravies. The chapatti and rice was good, the mutton curry tasted nice and the biryani tasted exceptional!
The Ragi mudde with the mutton and chicken curries tasted great. And I really like mudde in general and it helped.
The brain fry (They initially said is unavailable and later said just one is available after some pleading) was really awesome. If you fancy it, a must try. The combination of spices and onion was perfect
I am not a big fan of “Thaley maamsa” the preparation made with the meat of goats head, but this dish (Thaley maamsa masala) had an exceptional taste though I didn’t eat the meat.
The guy who served us asked if we would like Coke and we were pretty surprised with his customer service. He was really good. Attended to us even after it became crowded.
In fact we spoke how this was a perfect example of globalization. Coke was available, offered and the way an international card was welcome and honored at the restaurant.
At about 743 rupees for what we ate, it is an unbelievable value for money.
Overall, the place is all about food and I doubt I'd want to change anything.

been to this humble home style hotel.. enjoyed their biryani, mutton masala and so on.. almost every item we ordered was good.. except the quantity quality was super good.. specially the mutton meat ka quality fresh and rightly cooked... definitely repeat visit recommended.
We ordered mutton Briyani but to be frank it was spoiled and smelling, then I have given complain about this then they offered me replacements... replacement was good

Hotel serves some of the authentic Karnataka cuisine and the quality is nice. Raagi Mudde and Mutton Balls go crazy together, special days have Idly and Leg soup which is highly recommended. Service is fast and neat, the place is more of a Mess seating than fine dine. Do try for Local taste.
One of the best place to try our Bengaluru fashioned naati style food is gowdru Hotel. Loved the boti fry, kaima, chops and mutton biryani. Would recommend every Naati food lovers to try this place out.

V south Bangaloreans need biryani or mudde oota foe lunch, this was the only nati place to go, it was upto the expectation but can't beat south bangalore options. It's manageable for the moment, chicken 65 is my fav. Biryani with chops gojju, best combination

Few days ago, I went to this restaurant with my old colleagues. I was very impressive by the it's architecture even it places in a small alley inside the downtown. This restaurant is one of the famous restaurant in the city, hence it seems always full of customers.
We had to wait around 30 minutes to order our foods.
It's worth the wait, the foods and drinks are delicious, the side dishes with a little sweetness and main course are really spicy but I love that taste a lot.
Bheja fry and head mutton were delicious.
mutton fry needs to be softer.
Almost zero options for vegetarian.

It's open at 7 am on Sunday and you get idli, leg soup, biryani and chicken/mutton fry. Leg soup is the best in the locality. Mutton biryani is ok type and the quantity is also less for the price. 4 wheeler parking is difficult.
