Not very impressed by the taste here.. Akki rotti being a bit sour was a disappointment... Loved the coffee strong and nice.. Dosa wasn’t crispy enough... Bonda soup tasted good.. service was a little slow for a place that wasn’t crowded... 7/10 only for the love of coffee

Ordered akki roti and aloo paratha from Malleswaram outlet, food was spoiled, bad taste wasted my 450 bucks 😡

Maiyas a South Indian restaurant with a simple ambience, a very clean restaurant. I had visited here with my family of 10 members, we had a small get-together there. Staffs are very friendly they serve everything patiencely. And now about food they serve authentic South Indian menus everything feels like homemade. We ordered South Indian meal, in that they served poori Saagu, veggies stir fry, daal casa and some savouries. One of the maiyas signature dish is Bisi bele bath which was full of flavours and melt in mouth, topped with generous amount of ghee. And next comes Bele holige even that too topped with ghee, everything with ghee wooww. And later as usual rice sambar, curd rice, last but not the least for dessert fruit salad ice cream.. Wow stomach filled. For authentic South Indian meal plz visit here.

Maiyas--Malleswaram is a superb restaurant for South-Indian food. Excellent idlis (available only in mornings), the best masala-dosa in Bangalore, amazing Weekend Special Meals.

Regular here for coffee when I'm around Malleswaram. Hunger pangs often call us here. All south Indian dishes are good as always! Apart from that, the condiments are good too!<br/>Pudi dose is a super favorite here, and gulping ut with some hawt pilter kaapi.

One of the best Restaurants In Malleshwaram for Excellent Dosa's, Kara Bath, Idli, Vada, Bisibe Bath Small Restaurant but Neat and Clean & Hygienic

Not at all good. Should visit just for its name and as its purely veg restaurant. They should really think of changing the menu, taste and if possible chef also. There are better restaurants around.

This is a very small outlet of Maiyas. Very very clean and well maintained. <br/>We ordered masala puri, onion dosa, rava idli, bisibelebath, veg sandwich and puliogre.<br/>All items were served hot and were really tasty. <br/>The dosa batter was a little sour and thus the four rating.

This used to be one of my fav place.. but sadly it’s no more my fav.. took my people for Sunday morning breakfast but for my disappointment Masala Dosa turns out to be sour at 8:30 am itself .. Pongal had some veggie in it which was bitter in taste .. and I didn’t dare to order anything else .. for the price that we pay .. it’s not even close to be worth it.. saddest part was .. when you complain they are on dead ears .. they acted as if it was not their problem... NOT RECOMMENDED PLACE at all .. people please try elsewhere do not waste your money at this place

One of the best places to have South Indian breakfast by far . Masala dosa is a must try as most of us know . Idly , vada , Upma , Bisibele Bath are items not be be missed . Recently they have come up with family pack of idly, where they give 10 idlies for just 150 rupees on Zomato , it’s a great saver pack . Overall if you are craving for some south Indian breakfast , can blindly go and order anything on menu and you will love it. <br/>Taste : 4/5<br/>Ambience: 3/5 <br/>Value for money : 4/5 <br/>Service and presentation: 4/5

My favourite Sundae on a Friday is definitely a Gudbad. Probably this is one of the best I've ever had! 3 different flavours of icecream (Pista, Strawberry and Vanilla) served with a fruit salad in a fancy glass cutlery, topped with nuts and and pieces of apple, making the fruits the heroes of the dish!<br/><br/>#food #foodporn #instafood #yummy #amazing #instagood #photooftheday #sweet #dinner #lunch #breakfast #fresh #tasty #food #delish #delicious #eating #foodpic #foodpics #eat #hungry #foodgasm #hot #foods #dessert #icecreams

Have tried at their other outlet in jaynagar<br/><br/>was here around 3pm. Ordered for South Indian meals and chapati and bisi bele bath.<br/><br/>Food tasted good. But the problem was the restaurant had cockroaches on the either side of the tables. When asked about it to the person who served food, their was no answer from him. May be this thing shld be considered about cleanliness.

Place to visit for coffee, rava idli, bhele bhat, dosa and other southindian dishes. The best thing about this place is then dosa, rava idli and coffee for me.

The food was very tasty.

Maiya's When you have hunger to eat south Indian dishes to visit Maiya’s.I visited one in Malleshwaram with temple on the left side and greenery everywhere. If you are fan of  dosa and coffee do give a visit. We ordered dosa which was bit crispy and made with pure ghee, also ordered poori Sabzi which was quite normal in taste and the filter coffee. We enjoyed the proper south indian breakfast after a long time.Ambience was quite normal which is pretty much same for all outlets For more you can follow me instagram @explorewithketan1  <br/><br/>

Some iconic south Indian dishes served at its best. The dosa lovers who look for crispy texture will be disappointed as these dosa's are soft and rich with ghee. Overall good ambience, wide range of south Indian menu, sweets and ice-creams are also available. Maiya's famous packed items are also up for grabs.

Evening times - lovely weather in Bangalore and hot rava idly, curd vada, cold Badami milk and lovely coffee. To be honest, the taste of the food has gone down. The coffee however was really really good.

If I go to this place I wouldn’t miss puliogare ? it’s so tasty here!<br/><br/>All dose and idly items are great ! If anybody wants to try something different in South Indian food other than idly dose one can try puliogare and bisibele bath here?<br/>I am sure this wouldn’t disappoint you ?<br/><br/>Service is good!<br/>Overall good place

Authentic Karnataka foods are available here.  Staffs are polite.<br/>Being a heavy traffic area, parking is the major problem.  Also, if you get in after 8 PM, you will miss many items from the menu.

Went there for lunch, ordered bissi bele bhath, south indian thali. Thali was underwhelming, rasam had strong black pepper taste, curd rice was sour, rest of the dishes were below average as well. Bissi belle bhath had a good taste but vegetables pieces were too big which ruined the texture of the dish.
Kanishq "food Is Not Less Than Breath"
The place is now a multicuisine restaurant. They have different taste in their dosa. It was not crispy at all and the ghee provided was not making a difference because all masala was not prepared in ghee. So it was a mixed taste of ghee and oil together which is not so good. Service was fast and mannerful. One can try their badam halwa and khara bhaath and also the unlimited thali.<br/><br/>But seriously dosa was not something to go for.<br/>

If you wanna have food that doesn’t bloat up your stomach then this is the place . It’s walkable from 8th cross in Malleshwaram after shopping . I ordered bisibelle bath , chapathi and meals . Bisibelle bath had a small cup of ghee and two cups of raitha . It was tooooo good . Chapathi had aloo sagu and kurma . It was really soft and delicious with the side dish . Mosambi juice had a lot of sugar and was a bit bitter . The food overall was very good . The ambience was okay and cleanliness could be improved .

The Maiyas is a good place for a quick snacks and a cup of coffee but also they have good lunch and dinner options but I haven't tried anytime. The coffee section is kept separately which benefits the people for chatting and enjoying coffee standing outside the hotel.<br/><br/>The place is affordable and worth the money as you will not get disapointed with the taste of the food. Also this place is run by the previous owner of MTR, so you can rely on the food and the quality. Be it the filter coffee, maddur vade or any South Indian food for that matter tastes is always nice.

This is the place for the ultimate South Indian Meal.. They will put in as much as you want till you are full starting from poori to payasa.. Had an amazing experience @ Maiya's.. Couldn't even click pictures as I was so busy in gulping poori with aloo sabzi and enjoying the delicious Bisibilebath as well.. Recommend this restaurant to everyone 👍👍👍

Worth the money for weekends lunch. Best place to visit with family. You feel like homemade food. Not so less options in meals. Cheap and best for lunch with family.

A total let down tonight. I first visited Maiyas when it opened in Jaynagar and it was just up there with its quality. After tonight’s visit at malleshwaram, I don’t think I will want to visit this place again. We ordered onion rava and the size of it was reduced by half and the taste was so so. The place wasn’t clean either.

First time I’ve tried chats here in this branch of Malleswaram. The taste was very good.. liked it very much. As usual, masala dosa was too yummy. Coffee served too hot. If you’re thinking to have best South Indian recipes.. this is the place for you to go and try out stuff here. The place is very neat and clean, it’s a good atmosphere to have a food here. And yeah, the table service is awesome.. they serve the food too quick.

most of the times they don't have anything on the menu, the restaurant was quite dirty with lots of mosquitos, the management has to immediately take cognizance of this and save this place and brand from immediate doom!

I went there to have nice south Indian food, but it was total flop. All the dishes are overpriced and the quality is not upto the mark. You can find better food in any darshani, don't know how they r surviving

This restaurant used to be good about a decade ago. We live within walking distance, and have been here several times before, but each visit is progressively disappointing. I have decided to skip going here for good. No more visits.<br/><br/>Pros:<br/><br/>1) Clean insde, but filthy outside the restaurant. Dogs shit at the entrance, but nobody cares.<br/>2) Waiters are efficient, typical of such joints.<br/><br/>Cons:<br/><br/>1) Most food items on the menu are not available, even though they are listed.<br/>2) Dosas are flat, sloppy, unevenly cooked.<br/>3) The potato sagu they give with pooris is the same potato filling they have with dosas, with added water.<br/>4) Coffee is overpriced for the 20ml or so quantity they give in tiny cups.<br/>5) The most annoying experience is at the cashier desk. He is downright rude, offensive and yells at customers. Zero concern, uses foul language at anyone stopping by to pay money.<br/><br/>Avoid this place if you want any decent food or pleasant experience.

NEVER GO THERE, THE WORST RESTAURANT! Went in the evening at 8pm. Ordered Bonda Soup, Masala Dosa and Coffee. They initially server Bonda Soup, when I asked for the chutney, they gave chutney that was completely spoilt and smelling bad, when I informed them about this, they were kind enough to change the Chutney. Now, I got the Masala Dosa which was the worst. This was my first time at Maiyas and I believed their Masala Dosa to be one of the best, but however the Dosa was completely sour and very thick. Looks like the Dosa batter was over fermented and had turned sour, however I tried to have the Dosa , but I couldn't because it was very sour. I returned the Dosa, they told that they will get the better one that is well roasted and not sour, but I was not in a position to have anything more after such a disappointment. Had coffee at the end, which was good. They were kind enough to remove the Dosa from the bill though I insisted that I would pay for that.<br/>My overall experience with Maiyas was not great because of the spoiled chutney that was served at the beginning and Sour thick Masala Dosa, which was difficult to consume. Looks like they were serving everything that was prepared in the morning and that was not well refrigerated and due to summer heat, every item was disappointing except coffee....<br/>Will never go again here...

The previous owner of MTR has done a great job in bringing back the taste of Karnataka. Be it the filter coffee, Maddur Vade or any South Indian food for that matter tastes good.<br/>A separate counter for coffee and snacks next to the restaurant. The food prices are affordable and worth the money.<br/>Masala dosa is a must try in here.

A good place for a quick snack and a cup of coffee. Coffee is kept outside which benefits the people for chatting and enjoying coffee. The chats aren’t convincing. Short eats with he coffee are good. Ex: majjige kodbale, mangalore bajji etc. A good place for breakfast. A CAN go place. Prices are reasonable.
Teena
The food tastes great. But the place is too small to accommodate big groups and on weekends there's always so much 'waiting' for the meal lunch. So avoid going there for lunch on weekends. There's just no place to even stand.
Anarghya Kini
Maiyyas is a place specially made for south Indian food. They have special meals during weekends which are pretty famous. The desserts served here are yum.

Food: Not the expected quality ! We ordered Podi masala dosa and Rava dosa. Podi dosa was bad. Rava dosa was average.<br/>Ambience: OK. Nothing special.<br/>Service: Average.<br/><br/>Overall: Disappointed

There were times when every restaurant was located at a single place. We had to travel a distance to be able to reach the place and relish the food. Nowadays, the trend has completely changed, restaurant have started opening branches at multiple location. One such famous eatery is the Maiyas which started in Jayanagar area and now has multiple branches across Bangalore. There are some chains, which are not just located across the city, but across the country and across the world. I recently visited the Maiyas Restaurant in Malleswaram after doing some festive shopping.<br/><br/>Ambiance<br/><br/>Maiyas has always been known to be a neat and very well organized. This outlet looked a little less organized. At the entrance, there would be plenty of people swarmed and they would be chatting away over a coffee. Some of the times the entrance would not be visible because of people standing there. As I walked inside, found plenty of card-board pieces which made it actually look like a godown . And then there is the section where people can do shopping for many of the Maiyaa products including – Savouries, Bakery items, Heat & Eat stuff and many others.<br/><br/>To the left of the entrance is the entry to the dine-in section. They did not seem to have proper sign board as well. The tables in dining section looked clean. But to the left of it were plenty of items kept on steel buckets, which probably were chutneys. It did not look appealing to me. <br/><br/>There were no posters or facts giving more info about Maiyas. I strongly feel that the interiors need to be worked upon.<br/><br/>Food<br/><br/>The food at Maiyas in general is pretty good for South Indian food. <br/><br/>Dosa<br/><br/>Masala Dosa was pretty good, the dosa had a small layer of green chutney smeared on it. There was the typical Potato/Aloo subzi which tasted good with dosa. Keeping up with the traditions, the dosa is served with a small cup of ghee and chutney. The taste was good, and it was not spicy. I would have wanted a little bit of crispness outside the dosa.<br/><br/>Plain Dosa was served along with ghee and chutney. To my surprise the plain dosa also had some chutney smeared on it. Thought the taste was good, I think that they should be checking with customer before smearing it. This would especially be good someone who can’t take spice.<br/><br/>Special Khara Bath<br/><br/>This was surely a special khara bath / upma, which had ghee inside it. The taste was pretty good along with the coconut chutney. I would have loved to see a little more of cashews add in it.<br/><br/>Badam Halwa (Sweet)<br/><br/>The taste was pretty good, but I thought it was a little on the watery side. Ideally this should be a little bit thicker.<br/><br/>Drinks<br/><br/>Cold Badam Milk<br/><br/>This is one of the best drink available at this eatery, which is served cold in a glass. They also have canned version if someone is desperately looking for a drink. The taste was pretty good as it had good amount of almond & sweetness. I would have wanted them to serve the badam-milk a little cold.<br/><br/>Coffee<br/><br/>Gladly they have a min-version, so we don’t need to order the by-two coffee. The taste was pretty decent and strong. For a non-coffee drinker, it would be best to add 2 portions of sugar.<br/><br/>Overall Experience<br/><br/>It was a good restaurant to dine-in with the family. Some of my top pick among the dishes to be taken here include – Masala Dosa, Special Khara Bath & Cold Badam Milk. Ambiance at this place surely needs to be improve as it looks quite disorganized compared to other outlets. But the place does have comforting homely feel which is the plus point of this restaurant. I rate my experience at 3.5/5.<br/><br/>Rating in different departments.<br/><br/>Food – 3.75/5<br/><br/>Drinks – 3.5/5<br/><br/>Service – 3.5/5<br/><br/>Ambiance – 3.25/5<br/><br/>Food of 2 at this restaurant will come upto anywhere between INR 300-400.

Simply because of the name it survives..!! <br/>Don’t know what so special about this place..!! When ever you visit the only thing they have is bisibele bath and meals..!! Even the bisibele bath isn’t as good as it was before(meaning the time when my grandpa used to eat). The coffee and tea also isn’t as good as it is someplace else where you get it for much cheaper and in by2 portion as well..!!

U can try bisibelebath here, which comes with ghee and raitha, service is good and quick, but quantity is less compared to other hotel in Malleswaram

We went for a breakfast on Saturday Morning...it was not a pleasant experience, Onion Dosa was not available and hence we ordered Masala Dosa which was not at all crispy ...it was as if it was prepared from a stale batter...very bad...will never go back there again....

A Sunday family lunch led us to this place, since everyone wanted to have South Indian. All of us left with full tummies n smile on our faces. Make sure u reach this place by 1, it gets crowded super fast ,n waiting period is too long. They serve only South Indian special meals for lunch. I didn't keep a count on d number of dishes that were served, but each of them were tasty. From d crispy Puris to yummy sagoo to amazing bisi bile bhath. Best part was d end of meal, d fruit salad with ice cream, I don't usually prefer it in other restaurants, but here it was amazing, fruits were neatly cut, fresh, all in all amazing meal with an amazing end. MUST TRY!!!

Sagu dosa, masala dosa, poori sagu, rava idly, Khara bhat, kesari bhat are the must eats. Bisi bele bhat is the best you can get anywhere in Bangalore. Excellent coffee. <br/><br/>The meal they serve for lunch is a must try. Wide variety of South Indian dishes, served hot. Excellent service.

Most of the things from the menu are not available. I had onion dosa, having north Indian taste buds i found the taste okay-okay.<br/>I am new to Bangalore and this place is next to the place i am living. I went there in the morning as well.. waiter said that rice idly is not available and then after sometime rice idli was served on the table next to mine.. when i asked the waiter he said idli is available but there is no sambhar.. service doesn't seem to be good.

Went there yesterday with a friend for lunch. Well actually ended up there coz couldn't find any other place. Zomato doesn't even show this place which makes sense because its not worth looking at. There isn't much option for lunch apart from the usual. I ordered a normal meal (calorie rich), apparently they have a calorie restricted one as well (not sure if one would wanna take a risk, considering they can't make simple things taste good like rasam), the friend ordered bisibele bath. The meal had a carbs overload and water for curries: rasam-some tomato water, sagu-thick potato water with excess clove, curd rice had no flavour, poori's (2) were average, rice- was bad and overcooked, one piece of pickle the size of a nail, some chutney- still not sure what that was and beetroot dry curry-again ouldn't workout any of the ingredients in it. Bisibele bath was runny, smartly served in a bowl, it had a lot of veggies so that was a good bit, small ghee was served on the side probably was the best bit for the friend. Too small for the serving though. Coffee (which costs Rs 37) she ordered was horrible to say the least which only took 10-15 min to arrive to start with. Anyhow overpriced and below average food with mediocre service. Not recommend anyone to bother with their time better food if you go at the end of the road and take a left.<br/><br/>Food: 2/5<br/>Service: 2.5/5<br/>Ambiance: 2/5<br/>Value for money: 1.5/5

The bfst combos are simply the best. A little bit of everything. <br/>They have tried to make everything pocket friendly. The coffee and Bhajji for example are totally worth! <br/>Even the waiting zone is good where you could shop some maiya products in the process.... the desserts look tempting too.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at a restaurant with a well known name.<br/><br/>The Rave dose was not crispy, not that tasty, very small. Palak paneer paratha was undone and hardly any palak or panneer was in it.<br/>Most of the chat items were unavailable. No Dahi kachori or ragada pattice.<br/><br/>Maybe it was a bad day for them, but hoping for a better experience/Service next time.<br/><br/>There are many better options around Malleshwaram.
Sapna
Went here on a random Saturday after the plans of shopping in malleswaram. You can smell the aroma of authentic coffee from far a distance. There was already a huge Quee waiting for lunch and we had no option than only meals. They serve meals to all tables at once so u gotta wait till the first set of people inside finish there lunch. Ambience is okay. The food quality is good. Typical Vegetarian food with quiet a reasonable price. Had plenty served on plate. Over all a good experience of having a good vegetarian food.

A nice place for South Indian breakfast and snacks.! <br/><br/>I have been here a couple of times and have been quite happy and enjoyed the meal there. The crisp masala dosas come with brilliant chutneys and a tiny bowl of awesome ghee. For people who don't mind more ghee, there is ghee roast masala dosa. The Mangalore bhajis are very delicious and non-oily. Mangalore buns and akki roti are quite tasty too. Along with food, one gets great filter coffee.<br/><br/>Maiya's has a bright and well-lit decor. The ambiance is nothing fancy, but decent. Pretty quick service too. If you're hungry and want to grab a quick bite near malleswaram, this is the place to go to.<br/><br/>Food:4/5<br/>Ambiance:3.5/5<br/>

Finally had been here only once. Food was presented in a pretty decent way but lack of cleanliness. Food was of course good, Which can remind your home. The required spoons and tumblers were not available on the table. You had to ask the waiter for everything and since it was so crowded you get what you asked pretty late. It's a very small dining place. The worst is they have one restroom which is very poorly maintained for the whole restaurant. The ambiance and the atmosphere will spoil your good mood. End of the show you may have to step out the restaurant disappointed. Food is the only highlight which actually tastes good, and the rest is very much disgusting. I hope they will concentrate on these factors and implement it in a well better way. Thank you.

Finally visited this place based on my experience at the airport. Excellent thick yet crispy masala dosas. Poori Sagu was great. Didn't like that the put vermicelli in their kesari bath.

An old Bengaluru chain has gone to the dogs in recent times. Nothing is good about their quality of service or cleanliness. You are better off avoiding this place - unless you want to ruin your mood and stomach on a perfectly good day.

Located in 11th cross, malleshwaram, this place is frequented by families, office -goers and just about anyone looking forward to taste home -cooked food. Service is fast, and the food is delicious. Try the bisibele bath and puliyogare that is served in small bowls with chutney and ghee by the side. You can also enjiy bonda soup that has the goodness of spices. Easy on your purse and tummy too :)

After a shopping spree in Malleshwaram, visited this place or a washroom break and a quick snack. Visited other branches, hence never been a big fan of their food. Their masala dosa is too thick and thy don't serve sambar with it. My Akki roti was decent though. The coffee was too bitter even after adding spoonfuls of sugar. Ambience is ok, sitting is cramped and the place is mostly crowded.
Prity Pramanik
I have no idea how this place happens to be so famous in Bangalore! I never found a single reason to visit there again. But unfortunately, it happens to be close to my home and going there for a evening pastry is acceptable. Tasted almost every item in the menu, and only dahi vada is good.
Ajay Arora (foodntraveldiaries.in)
Roaming around in Malleswaram, went in here for a weekend dinner. Having heard a lot about the food here went in with some set expectations! They have a very limited menu on the main course food but a lot of variety on desserts. Ambiance is ok , no 'wow' factor and a little cramped up seating with little space in between tables.<br/>We tried quite a few dishes. Akki roti was good and the potato based gravy as a side was nice as well. Plain dosa was not up to the mark, the flour was not the regular one used for dosa but it was a mix of something else and did not taste good. They do not provide sambar but only a coconut chutney. As an alternative they can provide saagu ( potato curry ) on request. Rava items were good, both Rava idly and dosa were served hot and had a good taste and texture. The standout for me was the coffee.Perfect aroma and mildly strong just the way I like it ! <br/>Service is satisfactory. Can try once a while.

Been here several times for breakfast and lunch with family. Always buzzing with crowd. Sometimes you have to wait to get a table. <br/><br/>The breakfast combo is pretty good and filling. <br/>The lunch has a mini meal and a plate meal. The plate meal has puri and rice. Pretty filling. However not a great fan of the meal. The rasam is okay. Curd rice is my favourite part about the meal.
Sunitha Pai
Been here only for the coffee couple of times. I think this is the most popular place for coffee in Malleswaram. Whoever you meet, suggests that we go here for coffee. This is supposed to be strong coffee without using chicory. I find it good but nothing exceptional.

The Brand may seem famous i don't know y. Had been here 3 times till now hoping the next time will be better. [actually reason to visit this place again is for the dhai vada]<br/>The masala dosa here is the worst i ever had. bisi bele bath is ok. <br/>Only some pastries and sweets are good. <br/>Very crowd every on weekdays, especially in afternoon meals time.  Have to wait for a long time and share the table with others. <br/><br/>Food - 6/10<br/>service - 7/10<br/>ambience - 6/10

Order: khara bath, bonda soup, akki roti, masala dosa, plain dosa, bisi bele bath | Ambience and service: went right before they shut but they were super nice and profusely apologetic that they stop serving tea and coffee at 830pm | standard south Indian food

One of must visit Food counter of Bengaluru. Tasty, proper complete meal items. <br/>Lunch : Jaggery welcome drink, unlimited items for meal and ice-cream, masala pan for dessert. Generally waiting time will be there on weekends and special days.

Very nice place.. Excellent menu.. A bit crowded but worth the money.. Good for lite meals and all veg cuisines... Has kept the original charm of MTR

Being a South Indian Food lover, I would be love to eat either a lunch or Breakfast. I was very happy & excited to visit Maiyas in Malleshwaram. However, ended up with disappointment for quality, taste & price. Well, my first visit was for a breakfast & priced very high for a simple South Indian dishes! Only dish I liked was Bisibelebath! There are better places in Malleshwaram for a breakfast

A pretty spacious branch here at malleswaram .They serve good South Indian dishes . I've mostly seen long Q's for their filter coffee . They also have a dry foods section where you can buy everything from ready to eat mixtures , to freshly baked bread to evening snacks - all well packed and ready to go!

Good South Indian veggie meal ...no fine dining experience but good Puri saagu and Anna sambar rasam meals are very recommended ...but pls avoid their in house sweets ..it's quiet bad

Dosa with a generous dose of ghee, Khara bhat, bonda soup, rava idly, dahi vada and filter coffee. Food fit for the gods i suppose. <br/><br/>An evening snack turned out to be a proper dinner spread. The dosa was crunchy and the ghee added flavour to it. <br/><br/>The khara bhat was full of veggies and pipping hot. The perfect balance of spices made this humble preparation mouth watering.<br/><br/>The bonda soup was nothing like i have had before. The bonda was crunchy even though it was sinking like the titanic in the soup. The soup was full of veggies and flavourful. <br/><br/>The rava idly was perfecto and almost reminded me of the original MTR. The filter coffee was heavenly bliss and perfect at the end of a hearty meal. <br/><br/>Head hear to enjoy some great south indian food and dont forget to buy the maiyas goodies at the store.
Sankhdeep Mitra
Arguably most famous for its south Indian meals at lunch time, Maiya's will satisfy your taste buds and ensure you skip dinner. The quantity of food on a single plate is akin to a traditional South Indian wedding lunch, minus the banana leaf. The items on today's plate: sprout salad, a dry yam subzi, potato palya, puris, holige, bisibele bath, raita, kodabale, ambode, rice, sambar, papad, tamarind chutney, rasam, curd, a poppy-based kheer, and fruit salad with ice cream and badam milk!! What can I say? The food makes up for the mind-numbing wait times to get a table; we waited nearly 35 minutes for a table. But once you're in, these guys know how to feed you till you're stuffed. If you would prefer something lighter, consider coming here in the evening or morning instead when the menu is ala carte.
Mondakranta Saikia
Maiya's was a simple, no-frills south indian meal affair, and a quickie at that.<br/><br/>We were there today (sunday) for a brunch type meal. Ordered the Poori Sabji & good ol' Masala Dosa with 2 cups of Filter Coffee stat. Both arrived in a jiffy.<br/>Now, if you are someone like me whose stomach gets full with the slightest addition of ghee or rice or dosa (or all), you would want to share this Dosa. Given that the food was crisp and served hot, it was a pleasure to eat.<br/>Service was great. Also, they are so professional that they even returned a rupee balance, on payment of bill (at which we were so happy that we thought we must tip - something like Murphy's Law)<br/>However and but, while we were eating, they were already cleaning up with a soft bristle, paint-brush like large broom- not to blame them really - they were getting ready for the lunch folks am sure. It was an experience breaker for us and our egos though.Overall, I personally prefer other south indian joints to maiya's.

I am here at Maiya's for breakfast. Nice place for breakfast. Lovely idly vada...served with ghee.. Well that's new ! I have not seen any place serve idly vada with a small portion of ghee...which elevates the taste. Masala dosa is good ..also ordered Kara bath and kesari bath ..served in very small portion...it didn't taste very great. But I loved the idly vada. Over all its a nice clean place to dine

We were excited that Maiyas came to Malleswaram, the excitement is still on, we need not go all the way to Jayanagar to savour the yummy dishes. Favorite is Masala Dosa and Coffee, of course there are many other which are very good like bonda soup, rava idli, chow chow bath and so on. It is a boutique restaurant with limited seats to fit in and also the sweet corner with some good sweets to savour.

I stopped by this place to have a late afternoon lunch and found it to be decent, food as well as service wise. People mostly come here to have a quick authentic Kannada thali for a meal. The rates are reasonable.

I will only rate this place in terms of the food they serve.<br/>It is very similar to what MTR serves, but they taste, quality and portion sizes are way better than MTR.<br/>Food- We ordered Kara baath, masala dosa, Bisibele baath and neer dosa.<br/>I must say all the food that we had ordered came on time.<br/>Very tasty food. No frills.<br/>It is basically a no nonsense place. Nothing fancy about it.<br/>Go there just to enjoy authentic stuff.<br/>Word of advice- Go there early so that you do not miss out on the good stuff because it gets over quickly . We couldnt have the akki roti :(<br/>It is difficult to find a place to sit on the weekends so be prepared to wait.

Last two weeks back we visited to maiyas with my friend there was a good place , very clean and hygienic. service was very quick . we had tea and pakoda  food was very tasty and  spicy.

Came here last night for dinner. We arrived about half an hour before closing time, so a few dishes were not available. The service was fast.<br/><br/>We ordered quite a few dishes and I will definitely recommend the Rava Masala Dosa and Special Khara Bath. Even their Masala Dosa is quite good. Did not like their Dahi Vada much. I came across one of their products - Bhel Bar, and decided to try it out. It was pretty good! Nice snack for travelling, and easy on the wallet.<br/><br/>Overall, it was one of the better visits I have had at Maiya's.<br/><br/>Update - They have these ready to eat/drink Rasam packs. Just have to add boiling water. They are really good!

Good Food. Good Services. Good Customer Care. Excellent Ambivance.<br/>Pure Veg food - medium cost, Sweets & other snaks served are good in taste...

Prize is expensive, quantity is less, taste not that great. Service is good. Ambience is good. <br/>Need to improve on the taste and quality. <br/>Have heard that butter milk is good.

It's so much similar to the mtr food!<br/>But the food is amazing!<br/>Ambience and service is awesome!<br/>The masala dosa vada and kara bath is superb!<br/>A must visit place!

This place is food for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Food is not too heavy on the stomach. Lunch time they serve puliyogare and bisibelebhath and thalis. Personally the bisibelebhath is a great choice. For breakfast you get the authentic idli vada poori served which is brilliant and so is the filter coffee. All coffee lovers head to this place!

Located in the heart of malleshwaram, this is one of the best places to have evening tiffin and coffee. I tried the paneer sandwich and it was yummy. In addition to tiffin one can purchase sweets, savouries and pastries as well.

Had to wait for quite a while for a table! And once we were seated, we didnt have much choice but to order the thali! It was tasty and hot, good clean flavours! Overall good experience!

A must-visit place if you're in Malleshwaram. Be prepared to wait for 5 - 10 mins if it's around 8 or 9 AM in the morning. This is their peak hour.<br/><br/>I've been regularly eating here ever since they opened. They make the best Masaldose (that's what we Kannadigas call it, on records it's Masala Dosa) and Kharabath (Uppittu) ever. They serve the Masaldose with a cute lil bowl of ghee. I like to dunk my dose bites in it. Some people prefer pouring the ghee on their doses. You should try their Mangalore Buns too - they're out of the world.<br/><br/>The prices are steep for the quantity they offer. It's definitely a try though.

Beautiful taste. I had been here several times Special meals availbale on weekends is extraordinary<br/>The best place to taste the south indian meal

This is yet another South Indian eatery in Malleshwaram which prides itself for good food in West Bangalore. If you are around this area or live/work close by, this is a fairly decent place you can frequent. PROS- affordability, value for money, food is hygienically prepared, service is prompt, staff are courteous, quality of food is good. CONS- Parking issue, the service area has a low roof and it gets unbearably noisy even if the hall is half full. The wash basin and toilet needs to be maintained and the place is maintained very badly. SPECIALS- Visit this place for the Saturday and Sunday special meals. This place used to be much better over the years.

Very nice place with good ambiance. Good is excellent. One can also buy savouries, sweets and fast food packets from this place.<br/><br/>Place can get very crowded for breakfast on weekends.<br/><br/>Masala dosa is their signature dish. As this is a chain with lineage from MTR, one gets as good a South Indian snack as at MTR.

The place to go to for authentic south indian food. I went here for lunch and had the special thali. It costed 140 per person. I think it was very very reasonable. Since it was a weekend we had to wait a good 20 mins. Since they serve batch-wise, on a first come first serve basis. We were a little too bored of waiting :/ but i was busy exploring the other delicacies they offer. The ready to eat ones, which are also there in the store. Shopped quite a bit there. But the minute we started eating the food, that was all forgotten. It was worth the wait. VFM-5/5.<br/>Food quality was great. Food was delicious. You can see the pictures I've attached to see how good it looked. Do visit this place :)

Mum and I were here for late lunch on a Sunday. Bad timing! Our name got added to the waiting list and we got our table almost 40 mins later. <br/><br/>Priced at about Rs. 200 for an unlimited meal, first came kosambari, followed by aloo bonda, chutney, sagoo and mixed veg palya. Kosambari wasn't zesty, but was not bad. Aloo bonda was cold, with chutney it tasted better. Rest of the items were served hot - pooris, dosa, bisibelebath, rice and yummy rasam with papad. Coconut holigey was the best item<br/>of the lot, served hot with ghee, followed by basic payasa, We skipped rice, curd and pickle. We ended our meal with fruit salad and icecream. The items were reminiscent of that from MTR, but lacked lustre in some ways. The portions are adequate, you can ask for more as this is all you can eat lunch. <br/><br/>The service seemed hurried, also because of the long waiting list. Mum enjoyed the filter coffee even during the lunch hour. <br/><br/>All in all, a decent meal experience.<br/><br/>P.S.: Finding a spot for parking, may be a problem.

Its a crowded place. You will get all types of dishes with the maiyyas taste. Cost is little high. Have heard their coffees are very good, although haven't tried one. <br/>There's also small shopping corner inside where we can shop ready to eat packets. Cost is high comparatively.

Had tiffins today. Enjoyed the idli, upma, rava idli, dosa and vada.<br/>Afternoon, we had bisi belle bath, dahi vada, Chandrakanth sweet.. <br/>Overall good food. Vada doesn't have salt in the dahi vada and I guess they always do it that way..<br/>Carried back home some snacks like kodubele and muruku's..<br/>
Saurabh Vijay
A good place for filter coffee and hot snacks like masala vada, samosa, Mangalore bajjis and more. Very economical too. Good place to munch at if you are in Malleswaram.

This Maiya's outlet is one of Malleshwaram's decent restaurants to have south Indian food. Have been here several times for snacks and dinner.<br/><br/>Ambiance:<br/>-Though restaurant is fairly spacious, it's difficult to walk around as there is little space between tables<br/>-AC sometimes is way too high and can turn the food cold pretty fast.<br/>-There is a store right when you enter where MTR items--> sweets, snacks, rasam powder...etc are sold.<br/><br/>Service:<br/>-Gets crowded on weekends during lunch and dinner time; might have to wait for ~half an hour.<br/>-Had no problem with service except for once; when I told the waiter that I'd like my Masala dosa to be served crispy and repeated this twice just to make sure, he nodded and came back with the soft one -_-<br/>-Takes approximately 5-10 minutes to get what we order.<br/><br/>Food:<br/>-Rava masala dosa: This is the only reason for my repeated and dedicated visits to Maiya's:) It's crispy, refreshing and is served with fresh chutney.<br/>-Uppit: Served with huge tomato slice on top and made of ghee :D Very tasty but gets over in no time!<br/>-Masala dosa: looks like MTR's but this one's not crispy and definitely doesn't taste as good as the original.<br/>-bisibele bath and Mangalore bajji: tastes average, have had better.<br/>-Akki rotti: Crispy and delicious. It's served with sagu and chutney.<br/>-Sandwich: Tasted awful. Just stick to south Indian food.<br/><br/>Food: 3.5/5<br/>Service: 3/5<br/>Ambiance: 3.5/5<br/>QFM: 4/5

I have been to Maiya's in indiranagar.. This place has beautiful ambience.. and their south indian food is yummy.. <br/>Pocket friendly too.. <br/>Best thing is their coffee ☕

Fantastic neer dose, rave idly, khaara bhaat, bisi bele bhaat and a delightful coffee. Also, tried vada pav here and it was not all that great. You can also grab nice pastries and bunch of condiments if you want to.

One of the best coffee I have had. The masala vada was tasting good though cold.<br/><br/>We also ordered for rava dosa, rava masala dosa and rava onion dosa, and all there's were yum.<br/><br/>Lastly we ordered Gulab Jamoons. They were served hot and were delicious.<br/><br/>Parking is an issue here.

The desserts at maiyas is a must try for everyone with a sweet tooth! Their cakes, tarts and pies are yummm! And coming to the breakfast, the items are really tasty and the filter coffee is just too perfect! The most recommended at maiyas is Bonda Soup and Masala Dosa!!!!

Maiyas is one of my favorite restaurants and I visit them at least once a month. Their Sunday special meal is delicious! I recommend their bisi bele bath and rava idli, no one makes like them (of course they invented these recipes!). Masala dose, bonda soup are tasty as well. I would have rated 5 if not for their overly sweet jamoon and chandrahara. And, avoid foreign sounding indianized deserts like baklava, apple pie, its a waste of money.<br/><br/>Maiyas prices are on the higher side but its a premium you pay for good food.<br/><br/>Their ready to eat, mixes and snacks are delicious as well. Don't buy their out of the box snacks like mosru vada, its yucckkk!!<br/><br/>And round of anything you have with a glass of filter kaapi. Don't order in the restaurant since you get a bi-2 measured cup for 10 bucks in their stand-in counter right outside the door.

My mum and I used to go here on our way back home after shopping. Place looks good but food is not all that great. Many people visit there for a quick sip of coffee. Curd Vada is the best.
