I loved everything about this place. I have visited this place 3 times and every time I loved the food, quality, quantity, ambience and the service. Good place to be with group of friends. I loved the taste of the food here without any second thought. I would recommend everyone to visit this place.

It's such an unpleasant and misleading and terrible experience,
Food tastes terrible,
Got rotten Jaamun,
The chatni with the pakoda was terrible,
Biriyaani was literally palaav

Sneaked into this place without knowing about it and ordered Mughali shahi paneer with pulkhe roti. Totally worth spending on that dish.
Talking about the ambiance, it was pretty good, theme of swadeshi i.e. our Indian culture around whole restaurant which gave Tadka to the place and also to the food.
Would recommend to everyone who out looking for pocket friendly food and service.
Supritha Manjunath
A quaint, family-friendly, vegetarian establishment. Too bad they take really long to serve you. The taste has been wearing off over the years, but they try (I guess). They better buck up to stay in business.

Ordered from this restaurant for home delivery few weeks back . They had some special offer of dinner at Rs 99 going on .

I ordered a Swadesh tadka special biryani combo .

1. Veg biryani - The biryani surprisingly tasted good ! It had good flavour and it was spicy . The biryani was still hot when it delivered so it tasted even better ! The rice was cooked well . There peas and some other finely diced vegetables and leaves in it . I really liked it . The quantity was very good for the price . It went really well with the raita they provided .

2. Gulab jamun - The Gulab jamun was your typical restaurant style , it was slightly towards hard rather than soft but the taste was still good , the sweet syrup also tasted well .

Overall pretty impressed , the packing was good , the food was good, the price was good .

My rating is 3.5

Even 1 for this Swadesh Tadka is too much. Very bad behavior by staff, quality is too bad.
i would recommend never go or order from Swadesh Tadka.
They are not bothered about customer concerns.
Very Pathetic

The management is third-class. The guy who is in charge of running this place doesn't care about customer satisfaction. The food quality is average. There are so many Darshinis around this place which offer better food. Give this a skip and head there.
Kiran
quality is ok

I had been to swadesh tadka it’s fully vegetarian restaurant and it’s beautiful interior and good taste for North Indian dishes and South Indian dishes are very good
Abhishek Raja
taste not that good. I ordered potato and cauliflower subzi
Smitha.gitam
Food is not good. No taste. No salt in any item. Hot and sour soup was horrible. It was smelling bad. Soup was more of cabbage. Ambience was also not great.
Amber Khare
Located just opposite to banshankari bda complex... Provides vegetarian food... Food is ok.. Service is slow... Ambiance 3.5/5 .... Must try dal tadka

A veggie's delight near BDA complex. This place serves good north indian food at decent price. A perfect place for having peaceful lunch on a busy weekday. You would not find a better place than this to satisfy your cravings for North indian food in and around this locality at such an affordable price.
Divya Sri
Food is so so. But not the right place when you want to fill your appetite. Se vice is not at all good. People actually take orders and forget to get the order. Waiting time is more. Not highly recommended.
Somya Pandey
This is a pure vegetarian restaurant located just opposite BDA complex. The entrance is small and can be easily missed out.The inside decor is nice and different.A good place to enjoy north indian food in and around Banashankari. On the first occasion, we went for lunch and ordered Chinese. The chilli garlic noodles was one of the best we had in Bangalore. On the other occasions, we went with north indian food. The curries could have been better. All in all,a nice place for enjoying north indian food but there is room for improvement.

Worth a visit. Have been seeing this restaurant from some time, finally gave a visit with my friends, turned out to be a perfect choice.
Ambience : Quite decent and neat.
Hospitality : Good service, collecting orders can be made better.
Food : Manchow soup was decent, tomato soup needs improvement.
Starters were really great baby corn manchurian tasted really awesome. Serves phulkas which went really well with the curries, paneer tasted good. Mango milkshake was nice too. Overall a toothsome experience for the price you are paying, its totally worth.
Shriya S
Tasty food.. Good place for family outing.. Nice ambience..great service..perfect for veggies craving for some good north Indian food.. Overall good place... 😊😊

Visited this place multiple times.
Its very close to my place. The place is small and neat.
Good to have a quick casual meal. Most of the items i have had here were good. Tomato Soup sucks hard. Would definitely avoid here.
Prices are pretty good. Very reasonable. Service is also pretty good.
Karthik Sunil
We accidentally decided to go to this place for lunch, wow, i really loved the place. Small cozy, peaceful place. Have better choices of food. And food tastes very well. We ordered veg clear soup, it was very flavourful. Ordered missi roti and bendi curry. It was ok, not that great
Goutham
Good place for a quiet lunch, nice paranthas and sides. Although located at a busy junction, the entrance is not easily visible. Gulab jamun is awesome, nice way to end a good meal.

Me & My Friend walked into this restaurant just to try the food here.

This is a pure veg restaurant.

One of the peaceful restaurant in banashankari.

I have Ordered Butter Mushroom masala & butter roti's.It was awesome.

It is a North indian & Chinese cuisine.A must try for vegetarians.

Food:4
Service:3.5
Ambience:3

Very peaceful place. No matter what time of the day you visit you can definitely find a place.
The service is not bad at all. You can expect your order in 15-20min.
The servers are not trained is what I feel based on the way they serve the dishes.
The rice items are average but quickly served. Quantity wise it's very less.
Talking about the ambience, it's very calm not a crowded place.
Vinod
Visits this place on Sunday around 8:30 PM and surprisingly no crowd at all.. It's just our group in the restaurant.

Nothing special about the food. We ordered manchow soup along with some starters and it was okay. Roti and gravy also good(but again nothing great).

Overall, a decent place and value for money.
Sunil
I used to be a regular visitor here, back when it was called 'Tadka Maar Ke'. I suppose the name changed, due to a change in management. And along with that, this restaurant took a nosedive in all possible ways.

Quality of food reduced, the timings of certain dishes became weird, and prices went up. Very difficult to communicate with the staff, since most of them know only Hindi. The service became slow as well.

I won't bother with section-wise rating for this place. It's simply not worth it. i just wish it had stayed 'Tadka Maar ke'.
Shreyas Ramesh
Thought of trying out this restaurant because it was close by and I went in for a take away , the most horrible north indian ever , the curry was very bad and the veg biriyani even worse
Naveen Suresh (Bangalore Epicure)
Banashankari locality is a Vegetarian’s paradise in Bangalore and Swadesh Tadka is a new add-on to this vicinity. The restaurant is located opposite to BDA Complex; the junction became so popular with many eateries. I recently visited here for a lunch and surprised to see such a nice and decent décor, which is much needed to BSK. I ordered a regular Roti, Dal Tadka, Veg Kolhapuri and Veg Biryani. All the dishes were upright and made according to my preference and spice level. Veg Biryani served over here is North Indian Style with so much of Vegetables and mild spiced. You should also try Jaljeera, which is so refreshing. The service was quick during my visit and staffs are approachable. They were good is suggesting some nice dishes. The prices are slightly higher end for the Portions they serve. Overall, it’s a nice place to go with family and dinner.
Anusha N
I was having pretty low expectations from this restaurant from it's outside look, but when I entered I was bowled over by the neat, classy ambience. I was further more bowled over by their prices....
But then when the food arrived, the guilt of paying higher prices for the usual food was overcome by it's taste.
It was really tasty, quantity was ok, quality was top notch 👍🏻
A little lesser prices would have been a real crowd puller!!
Karthik
Not recommended for any type of quality food not worth the money.service is very bad.location is good.ambience is avg.i personally did not like the response from the staff.
Pradeep Gurumurthy
Service: 6
Ambience: 5
Taste: 6
A small veg restaurant, nice college hangout. Nothing spl about food. Furniture needs refurbishing. Parking is a big no.
Samyak
The place is not that happening. Kind of boring. Tiny entrance. Easy to locate on the first floor. Service was good and the food was amazing too. Would definitely go back.

This is a great place for Vegeterians .... They have a very good spread of food ... Taste is excellent .. Ambience is nice but gets crowded on weekends ... if looking for typical north indian taste this hotel is the must to visit. & yes a family restaurant
Prasad Birashetty
Ended here looking for Chinese.. Originally the hotel used to serve only north-Indian cuisine which is still what shows in Zomato.. How ever seems like they started Chinese recently and wasn't disappointed.. Ordered Chilly Gobi Manchurian and was spicy hot crisp and yum unlike other places which just serves sweet Manchurian dipped in bucket of tomato ketchup though the name says Chilly Manchurian.. Also got chilly garlic fired rice which was delicious as well.. The service was great and nice ambience too.. Only thing which made me rate a point lower despite of great food and service was the cost.. Starter was worth the money but the rice could have been basmati to fit the price tag.. Would sure visit again to try something else apart from the overpriced fried rice with normal rice!!!
Nakul Madhusudhan
very nice hotel.very ambient and nice service.the food was delicious.this is the like the second time im visiting this hotel and i am surely goin again.hope you do to :)

Was quite sceptical about the place as it was empty on a Friday evening... However the Paneer tikka starter was awesome and dispelled the doubts. Stuffed paranthas are served piping hot with curd and are yummy ?.

Try it!

Well this review is being penned down after visiting this place twice.
On the first time.. It was a Saturday afternoon.. We were probably the first customers arnd 12.45pm.. We ordered parathas, jaljeera and veg pulav..
I loved the taste of all the three... Authentic north Indian dishes had carved a different class here.. Was very happy..
On my second visit however, I was not as happy.. Reason being pathetic service! That's why I rated them low.... We walked in and placed our order arnd 8.30pm on a sunday.. We got our starters arnd 9.25pm!!! There were people who left the restaurant after waiting for so long... That's so disgusting.. The restaurant has 2 waiters who are doing everything from serving, cleaning, attending to customers and 1 manager who took down orders and presented bills... I only hope their staff is expanded soon else they'll lose customers who walk in..
But our wait for the food was worth... We had ordered jaljeera, lemon juice.. Both were good except that jaljeera was a little salty, hara bara kebab served with green chutney.. It was crisp and well made, masala papad... Nothing unusual.. It tasted upto expectations... Phulkas were soft and big.. Corn palak subzi was perfect... Amazing!
We were done with waiting so we did not take the risk of ordering rice/desserts for which we had to probably wait another 2 hrs...
Akshay Harish
They offer a wide variety of Indian delicacies.
The food, along with nice ambience makes this place a perfect spot to fill your ever hungry stomach.
Even after a heavy meal, you will still be left with cash for desert.
Arun Shreedhar
My wife and I visited this place on a Saturday afternoon. We were looking out for a place to eat while we happened to be in banashankari. The place looked new and the name was inviting(it said pure veg :-) ).. The ambience was subtle and the airconditioning could have been a tad cooler.. But it being November.. we did not mind.. The menu was minimalist and the price seemed high for such a place.. Only the taste and quality of food could justify it... We were not too hungry so we ordered the usual.. And to our utter delight thetandoori rotis were crisp yet melted in our mouths. The taste of the subzi was excellent. I almost forgot the papad.. The best masala papads in bangalore. the chaas was a little let down. Over all the bill was just 300.

I hope they introduce a thali soon. For now its only for home deliveries.
Kiran Kumar
This restaurant is located in Banashankari 2 Stage, very near to the the BDA complex.
TO start off, this is a pure vegetarian joint.
The menu offered is fairly simple and ideal for a meal, as there are no confusing items on the menu.
Talking about the starters, check out on their Baby corn Manchurian, which is really good. Also try out some of the different varieties of Pakodas.
Coming to the main course, do not miss out on the Stuffed Parathas (Aloo & Aloo Onion) along with some Gravy like Mix Vegetables / kadhai Veg which is highly recommended.
Onto the rice, the Subzi Biryani is too good.
In all a highly suggested place to have food.
Roshni Arun
Its a nice place and gives a typical punjabi dhabha feel! Went here with family and was in for a total surprise! Lovely food. Not too high priced and decent ambience! Definitely worth a try!
Sowmya
A simple place to have a family get-together. The food was not all that great or special; I may need to eat there a couple of more times to recommend this place to family, friends & fellow Zomatoans.
Prashanth Sampigethaya
Ambience - Good, place is big enough to accommodate a small group anytime :-)
Food - ordered Paratha, Lassi, Masala paapad, Gobi 65, Jamoon. Paratha was okay, not great, Lassi wasn't too thick like how we get in Punjabi restaurants, but tasted good, Gobi 65 was just too good, I fell in love with it, it was perfect, a must have, Jamoon was hot and amazing, would surely go there again for the Jamoon and Gobi 65.
Service - Too good, when you think about ordering something, the manager, one sweet lady she is, would appear from thin air like a genie and take your order.
Bill - It was priced just right, for two it came to 358/-, went home with a full tummy and still full pocket :-)

I have been going to Tadka Maar ke from a very long time. i love their food and keep noticing prices are not high when compared to other resto . If someone is hunting for a real North Indian Taste this is the hotel would suggest people to taste ... No cons as far as i know but Honestly it could use a total makeover!
Saket Prasad
Food quality is good. But the management is worst.if wanna have food here than u l have to wait too much. And their food sequence never be proper.
They serve desert first than main course and many more ulta-pulta.
Fed up with this always tell them to imrove but always gets dissapoinment here.
Better i l check other resturant like "hara bhara".

The frenzied Election Results day.. glued to the idiot box for ages... no mood to cook.. but with a conscious effort of not to splurge, we set out searching for simple, no frills khaana nearby. The Zomato app flashed Tadkaa Maar ke and we landed there.
Location : Right outside the BSK BDA complex, opposite Ibaco on the road leading to KIMS.
Ambiance : Ethnic. Lighting impressive, but a tad too bright for comfort. Simple seating.

Food : Veg North Indian menu with a few Indianized Chinese dishes. We started off with a Masala Thumbs Up and Pudina Soda. The latter was artificially flavored which was disappointing. Most of the tables around us were occupied by the extended family/friends of the owner, which made us appear like hungry souls who gate-crashed at a private party. It appeared that everyone seemed to be waiting for their food to arrive, so we steered clear from ordering the starters and jumped onto the mains.
Mains - Phulkas with Paneer Jodhpuri and Alu Gobhi Dry. Phulkas were soft, curries spicy on the palate, but quite tasty. The curry portions are quite huge, and one would suffice two people.

Service : Slow. Staff appeared distracted and disinterested. With all the attention diverted to the "private" party, the rest of us were evidently neglected.

Pricing : Decent

Recommended for simple wallet friendly North Indian fare with friends and family.

Had been to this place and i must say ,its worth every penny .For starters i tried Hara bhara Kabab which was really soft and delicious and for the main course we ordered Kadai Veg and Paneer Butter Masala which were really well prepared with right amount of everything ,and it didnt feel heavy and for the naan and Roti, they were super soft and were really light on the tummy .All in all its a good place with great Ambience and great taste ,a must try for people around Banashankari

Very nice hotel....been going since a very long time. Noticed that the staff has been changed (the new one is better). Food is not
so costly but tastes very good. Recommend to everyone. Staff are kind and helpful and when delivered to your house , it is delivered hot. Good hotel, will visit again !!

excellent service with extremely delicious food :
-- I ordered from around 10 Kms, i got the food within 4 mins
-- Food was so hot and so delicious and mouth watering, that i was not able to resist to wait to open and eat
-- They were neatly presented and the taste was as expected : SUPER
-- I LOVE THE FOOD OVER HERE.

Thanks for reading this review.. :)

Bakwas food!
Insensitive customer care!! We were served one of the WORST AMERICAN CHOUPSEY made up of noodle with nasty smell may be very old stock of noodle or severely re-used oil. And the starter PANEER TIKKA was HORRIBLE which was improperly baked(could see wet atta....) . Anyways we thought we will bear the paneer tikka but requested for choupsea change. The so called manager was so rude and told that he can't change order. And when asked, he refused to connect me to the owner of the restaurant to discuss about the issue. Weekend mood was ruined !!
TK Venkatesh
How many times have they changed the name of the place... No idea... Had been there twice... Food was average ambience is good... They can do much better if they want to...
Anil Prasad
Plz avoid this place not at all worthy. Mr. Uday who is a manager there is absolutely rude. U will surly waste u r time and money.

Ever since i have been going to BDA, the eateries in the place this restaurant exists today changed so many times. I have been going to Tadka Maar ke for a very long time. Used to love their food and kept noticing how the prices kept going up . Still i didn't mind and return to the restaurant loyally.
Today i went back after a long time, and I notice the staff has been changed from before and the chefs too by the taste of the food. Nothing to worry. They are more cheerful and courteous. Keep an eye on your table to ensure there's food on your plate and someone to serve up once you are done.
The food is also good, tastes a lil' different though with a hint of extra onions. I loved it, and yes I will be going back again.
Pavan Prabhakar
Very good, pocket friendly dining option for the family. The Staff is very courteous and food was great.

We started with Tomato soup (it was perfect), followed by Baby Corn manchurian and Masala Papad - Food had the right mix - neither too spicy, nor too oily. Recommended

Absolutely avoidable. Went there since it was recommended here. I had met with an accident, due to which my mobility is restricted. Still I climbed up a floor to this restaurant. Walked in with my family and was asked to sit in a 6 seater (we were 4) by one of the waiters. About to order, when a guy walked up rudely to me and asked me to get up. This was at 3 PM when the place was empty. I tried to reason with him but was absolutely rude. When I said that the behaviour was not polite, especially when he was raising his voice, he said he didn't care. We walked away to Roving Feast for a plate of momos and rolls. Will never go back or recommend tadka blah blah to anyone.

Join Vegetarian Food Lovers in Bangalore on Facebook

I was not so sure before entering it but didn't find a better place around that serves pure veg. I went in anyway and was quite impressed by sofa and seating at the waiting area. Looked very decent. Went upstairs and it was a small room with seating capacity not more than 40 to 50 people. Everything neat.

What went well.
Manchow soup.
Phulka - the best I've had and was just 12 bucks. If you're ordering phulka order at least 3 per person.
Tandoori Roti
Malai kofta

I assume all the roti or paratha items are good.

What didn't go so well.
Plates weren't clean.
Harabara Kabab - tasted like yesterday's.
Veg Biriyani.

I noticed that it is not very well managed. There are only 3 people out here. Not all talk. At least not any of the earthly languages. All three do all the things. Taking order, cleaning tables, managing people who're waiting, billing and etc. Serving wrong orders to wrong tables is a common sight. And you're better off serving yourself.

If you want decent food and you don't care a lot about ambiance then this is definitely a nice place to go.
