Review Champaca Cafe - Bengaluru

Rekha Karna
Quaint little bookstore off Cunningham road with some incredible garden views. They also have a lovely little cafe with snacks and pastries that complement their selection of books. A very unusual book store with a great collection, they have a separate section for children’s books and a whole section for local authors. Very friendly staff and I can easily spend hours here! A definite must visits

Very small place. But cozy. Great collection of books in the library. Cafe has limited menu. Loved the overall vibe.

What a wonderful place to spend your entire day. I’m not much of an avid reader, but I truly loved the vibe, wide collection of books, the silence, decor, honestly whatnot. Love that they have a nice cafe too. Haven’t tried the food but look forward to next time.

Stepping into Champacca feels like entering a world inspired by Studio Ghibli's whimsical aesthetic which is perfect for immersing oneself in a book or engaging in conversations with friends or fellow literary enthusiasts. The combination of a verdant avocado tree, the allure of new books, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee is simply irresistible. Luckily, during my visit, the enchanting space was abuzz with the launch of "Choral Voices" by the talented author Sebanti Chatterjee. The atmosphere was further elevated by a soul-stirring choir performance by students and Sandra Oberoi from Harmony - The Music School. The whole experience was so refreshing. Well apart from coffee and desserts there are cold brews and savouries to enjoy that would be all as the menu is short and sweet. Whether you're seeking a quiet corner to get lost in a novel, a cozy space to enjoy a slice of cake, or a cultural hub hosting literary events, Champacca delivers on all fronts.

The ultimate paradise for book lovers in Bengaluru. Away from the city crowd this place is an absolute gem. A quiet place where you can spend your whole day simple sipping coffee and reading your favourite book. The only concern I felt was the space. Could be congested if more people would start exploring this place.

Perfect place for all the bibliophile out there. I personally fell in love in the first visit. You will get books from different genre to read and if you like them you can purchase them as well. Also on weekends there is a lil rush. So reach on time to reserve your seats. In the food menu there are not lot of options its mainly coffee and dessert.

Very beautiful cafe!!! Its 1.2 km from Cubbon park metro station, situated in a very calm and peaceful place. Where you can enjoy reading books. They have very good collection of books, even they have a childrens library. You can read for free and buy books if you want. Space is very small, they cant accomodate very large crowd. Its meant for solo or small group of peaple. They have hot beverages, snacks etc. Good service and a must visit place if you are a book lover

It's a beautiful bookstore and cafe. The collections here are exclusive and it has a very nice ambience. The place is very small and will not be able to handle large crowds.

I visited Champaca this past weekend to attend a discussion on a book written by my cousin. It was my first time visiting and I was expecting something along the lines of a standard bookstore like Blossoms. It ended up being much smaller than I expected, located on the upper floor of a house. The smell of books in a bookstore is quite nice and I could get it quite distinctly here. We didn't have anything to eat from the menu but it was a nice discussion. Overall, I really enjoyed the ambience with the trees right outside the window and the overall atmosphere of people browsing through the books. I want to try the food next time I visit.

A lovely little bookstore with a cafe located in quiet lane, just a short ride away from MG Road. Known for its thoughtfully curated collection, Champaca is a good place to browse, read and buy books, as well as treat yourself to a cuppa and some cake. They also have excellent subscription boxes and book challenges. For those interested in green reads [books with an environmental theme], this is most definitely a good place to start. Finally, like all good Independent bookstores, it hosts interesting book events from time to time and one can view them on its social media pages.

I visited the bookstore on a Saturday afternoon, a book reading session was going on. They have a good collection of different genres of books. From classic to encyclopaedia, kids book to adults fiction. People can sit in a corner and read. It was quite calm and soothing ambience.

Lovely place to unwind and read books of your own or the books available there. Few points to note Since it has a cafe built in, it wasn't very quiet for the readers. Cappuccino and chocolate cake was my favorite there Charging points available It has steep stairs so not wheel chair accessible Closes at 7pm

Peaceful place to be in.. you can have your own time there.. only constraint is the space, sometimes you may not have a seating.. but apart from that it’s a beautiful place with lots of books toread and buy.. you may also take their subscriptions for better readings.. I enjoyed the place, kind of place i love..

If you want to find some quiet in Bangalore to read, draw, journal and buy some great books, this is it! Nestled in a residential area, this place is perfect. They even have some signed copies of books for purchase!! Only draw back is the cafe portion doesn't serve filter coffee...and as an American, I still don't even know what it is when I order it, but I love it! Espressos and cappuccinos and lattes galore though!

The most beautiful bookstore in Bangalore. Though it may not always be as quiet as one would imagine it to be, it’s cozy, quaint, houses a thoughtfully curated collection, and has a charm that’s simply hard to match. It’s tucked in a corner in the heart of the city that somehow, feels far from the hullabaloo of the rest of the city. It’s an independent bookstore run by women. The very fact that they highlight the Orange prize for fiction for women and have an entire little shelf dedicated to feminism should be enough to spark the curiosity of any reader worth their salt. They also adorably promote Bangalore based writers in a little section on their main wall of books that opens like a dollhouse door. The kitchen behind the counter suffices to satisfy one’s caffeine and other cravings. Try their masala chai and carrot cake. Grateful that this little haven exists.
