Review Cota Cozinha - Betalbatim

Aakash Maji
Visited this place 2 times year after year and it never fails to disappoint nor the vibe has changed over the time. The vibe/atmosphere at this place makes me come to this place and dine with my friends and family and have good times and create memories. The food here is delicious and reasonable too. This place also has an outdoor sitting which equally makes it too good to always come for dinning, hangout or a date. I definitely recommend anyone to visit this place if you are in Betalbatim or anywhere in south goa.

I wish could give more than 5 stars! What a wonderful place to eat 😍 Totally worth the money and time. The staffs are so well behaved and most importantly, the owner (lady love) keeps smiling and talking to the guests always. I will visit again and again. Highly recommended! *Recommended food: calamari butter garlic fry, golden fried prawn, cheesy chicken, veg pilau, crab curry rice, serradura, kokum cooler and the list goes on…🤤

This place is a great combination of Delicious food, Ample Parking space and tranquil yet Ambient dine in experience. The fish was very fresh and the cheesy chicken was absolutely the highlight ,a must try. For dessert we had ordered sera dura and the taste was amazing. Would highly recommend this place. Their staff and the owner were very Gracious and welcoming. Also after having a short conversation with the owner we came to know that the marination and Masalas for the local Goan cuisine is prepared in house by the owner’s Mother adding a homely flavour to it.

Would request Google to add a few more stars for this wonderful restaurant that we changed upon. The flavours are on point . I had ordered crab curry rice and it was the best I have ever had . Perfectly cooked crab and wonderful curry along with boiled rice was just yummy. Had a chat with the owner as well on the story behind the name and the food Nice decor and one of the best places to have authentic Goan cuisine Ample parking available The staff are also very helpful .

It’s become a mandatory stop if we stay around south Goa. Love the ambience, cordial staff and some amazing food. Sunday dinners are special with packed crowd, local food is great.

This was my second visit in 2 years and I went for the same vegetarian order. Ordered Veg Caldinho , Mushroom Amsol,Steamed rice and plain naan with a tender coconut panacotta as dessert. The food is prepared pretty quickly. Service is good. Coming to the food, the veg caldinho is one of the best I tasted at this place. Plenty of vegetables likes beans, cauliflower with the creamy coconut based gravy and pairs perfectly well with a plate of hot steamed rice which was cooked perfectly. Nothing beats this comfort food. I got introduced to Mushroom Amsol 2 years back at this place and I had been craving this ever since. For people looking to try something different, this is the dish ! Its a tangy dry preparation with the tangy taste coming from generous use of kokum and some tamarind as well. The onions , the red chillies come together to give that perfect tangy slightly spicy taste which is unlike anything you will taste. Its a welcome break from the overly spiced dishes and I think its a perfect ode to the laidback goan lifestyle. The plain naan was very well cooked too , always a good sign when a place does different cuisine right ! The coconut panacotta is good too , much better than several places ! I hold this place in high regard given some other much more famous eateries around. But this place beats them in my opinion for the laidback ambience, quiet surroundings and most importantly the amazing food. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Okay. The restaurant has one or two good qualities. It might be a delicious dish, helpful staff, or an inviting atmosphere. Still, you have no interest in visiting again. Food was Meh

Place was busy as ever due to Christmas weekend but managed to get a table. The dishes we ordered were amazing, especially the stuffed sausages and roast beef. Great option for a quiet and cozy get together!

It's a hidden gem. I don't see it in Goa's must visit restaurants and all but it's amazing. We discovered this place 2-3 years back and now it's part of our every goa vacation. Food, service and ambience all are 5 🌟 King fish is must try. We have been to this place 5-6 times and it was mostly occupied by Goa locals and saw very few tourists. Must be because it's little bit away from main road and you really need to find it. Great place. Highly recommended!

Located in a remote place in betalbatim. Good place to eat out with your friends and grab a drink. Dining area is small but well spaced. Food arrived in around 20 mins as there was less crowd. Cota cozhina special chicken was good. It was very creamy and had unique flavour. Calamari was fresh. Honey crispy chicken was okay. In main course, American Chopsuey was good. Overall a good place with reasonable rates. Friendly owner. Good parking space available

The place serves good food, some quite unique. The squid stuffed reshado prawns was tasty although a tad bit on the sweeter side. The stuffed mushroom and cheese dish and tiramisu was good too. I heard good reviews from other people as well. And I can confirm it. I have this place 5 starts instead of 4 because being a bar and restaurant there were majority young ladies and women. It goes to show that women feel safe and comfortable here. This is probably because the place is run by a lady.

Good food but few items were too oily for my liking. Chonak rawa fry was more oily than usual and even it's outer layer was coming off. Even masala papad was very oily and was dripping oil. Fish curry rice and Mushroom xacuti were delicious and no complaints there. Portion sizes are huge and the rates are on the higher side.

We loved their creamy white penne pasta with vegetables and also their sea bass curry. We would love to come back again... If you are in South Goa, you must visit this place.. The owner is very attentive as well as the staff. It could be crowded depending on your time of visit.

One of the rare places where I feel like going again every time I visit Goa. This place is so so far from all the hustle bustle. The staff here is so friendly. You find most Goans here and the place is mostly full on weekends. The price is reasonable and everything else seems to cozy and nice.

The lady managing front office is very rude. We walked in the restaurant and it was full. We tried talking to the lady at the counter but she refused and walked in to the kitchen. We waited for 10 mins but the staff and the lady continued behaving like we did not exist. They should learn a thing or two about customer service. This was superbly disappointing, specially after being at Martin’s corner twice.

Cozy restaurant, with excellent home style Goan food, run by the Cota family, with the chef being the mother Eida, ex head chef of Alila Diwa. Queenie, the daughter personally looks into guest relations, which also makes the staff go the extra mile. Why didn't I give a 5 star rating? I just don't, unless I think things are perfect, which they rarely are. But I'd happily give a 4.5.

Food here was delicious.. I loved their personalised service. I wanted to visit again but unfortunately I couldn't do that. Food quality and quantity was good. If you are in south Goa its a must visit restaurant.

Visited Cota Cozinha two nights in September. Lovely place with delicious food. The staff and owners are very friendly. My only concern is they seem to be overwhelmed when faced with a packed restaurant. Will put it down to them being new and hope they can 'up' their game in that department.
