Review Mdc Restaurant - Bhubaneswar

Mohammad Wasim
Very nice restaurant, food is also awesome at the lowest price ever very reasonable if you want to do a get together in a budget then give a try to this restaurant theme is also good well decorated service awesome. But now I think name has been changed to MDC not Jalaza.
Raghu Mahajan
Nice place for vegetarians. Many veg options. Non veg dishes are bad. So try veg dishes only. Stuffed Capsicum, dry and gravy both are superb. If u want to eat real North Indian dal makhni, go there.
Sarada Ranjan Behera
Starter is very good, especially chicken. Mutton is not so good, dhaba like ambience on roof top with AC. Very dark inside. No tax. Best value for money. Good service. Feels like a deserted place. Not crowded.
Jayadev Sahoo
Nice. Delicious food and the shop is clean. You can buy fast food 🍲 in affordable prices.
Maitrayee Chakraborty
Good for people for low budget...nice food and decorations..suggested more for students than family
Suraj Kumar Nayak
Nice place with good ambience and decent pricing of food. Even the food served is pretty good.
Prateek Mohanty
Ambience is good and the food quality is good too. Price is good too. Children friendly/group friendly/couple friendly.
Kumar Tapas
Good restaurant with a different ambiance kinda old movie type. Cool place to hangout with friends.
M Himaja
Food is nice but the order comes up late and is a little expensive
Arnav Das
Food was nice (speaking of both veg and non veg), price range was fine and all, except for the cooking and serving time....it took a lot
Soumik Kundu
The decoration of the room is on another level and every food item is very tasty
Paul Sayantan
Great ambience and quality food at very low price...!!!
Farhaan Arshad

Pourush Bandyopadhyay
If you're cravif food and are tight on finances, your pocket and you want a good north Indian meal this is the place to be.<br/>Personally , the Tandoori Chicken and the Egg-Do Pyaza are to die for.
Vishal Baishya
Prices are very reasonable and affordable. Food is very tasty. Speciality: chicken maharaja, butter naan, garlic naan. Their biryani could be a lot better.
Sagnik Bagchi
Really great food. Service time is really nice. Don't expect ambience like cafes, but it's really pocket friendly. It's air conditioned as well, and offers half-plate dishes also! Do stop by here if you want to fill your stomach on a low budget
Dipan Pathak
Go there and only order chiken maharaja because the restaurant is known only for that. Nice place decent service and best for college students. Have a good time and enjoy.
The Foodie Explorer
Patiala chicken and butter chicken:<br/><br/>The staff was friendly and good. The food was delicious. The decor is nice and waiting time is average. The restaurant tops it all with reasonable prices for the food. Overall a nice experience..
PO NI
Decent food joint, I like the way they serve dal in a small Balti. 😊 Food tastes good. But ambience isn’t that great. Must visit if you want some good food.
Rohan Sen
Very bad delivery.Told them to deliver to my location but they didn't do so and the reason was"Traffic".LOL.Cant even spell chicken properly
Manish Kumar Singh
Must try chicken maharaja the signature dish of here.Every hostler loves that.Chicken lollypop was also good.they serve food at cheap price & taste was also good
Anindo Sarkar
Party place... For cheap and best food this place is perfect. Not a cool ambience but their food is really great and can soothe your taste buds without burning a hole in your pocket. Their chicken maharaja is a must try
Sahasourav1996
Best food at this price in kiit Road. Kadhai Chicken is best with Masala Khulcha. Quality of the food is maintained. But the interior of the restaurant should be changed and more accommodation is required.
Ritajyoti Ghosh
Very bad ambience. Went to the restaurant on a hot summer afternoon and AC wasn't working. Starters were very bland. Chicken lollipop had more of besan than chicken. Only food items that were good were Maharaja Chicken and Butter naan. And u know what happened at the end? Wait for it.....water supply got depleted! Had to wash our hands with drinking water. Ok price is cheap, but dont know how it got 3.7 rating on zomato. Not worth it.
Pinaki Jena
Tiny one. With all basic stuffs inside. All you can expect from the interiors is sitting arrangements in a crammed air-conditioned hall. Still, you won't be that disappointed, if your main aim is to eat without making a dent in your wallet and you just don't want to eat and sit in a road-side dhaba. Now coming to food, you won't be disappointed. I wasn't either. Service was slower than my expectation.
Niti Sharma
1. Food:2.5/5<br/>Food tastes good but health and hygiene wise it seems not that good.<br/>2.Service: 4/5<br/>Staff is very friendly.<br/>3.Ambience: 2/5<br/>Very conjusted and unhygienic place.<br/>The place is very budget friendly but at the cost of hygiene.
Manisha
If the food is impressive, I can't care less about ambience. I believe that a lot of times, the smallest of places are capable of completely taking you by surprise and MDC confirmed that belief today. Do not go by the misspelled names on the menu. It's not what it looks like. A solid 3.5 solely for the food and 0.5 for the decent service. I've never had better Chicken Lollypop. The Chicken Maharaja was rich yet super tasty. Extremely liberal with quantity too. Bill was so pocket friendly that I had to check twice to make sure. Please stop by here if you're starving, don't mind the below par ambience and have a rather light pocket on you. I can assure you that the place is quite clean even though it might not appear to be.<br/><br/>Oh and must try: Masala Kulcha. Softest Kulcha ever!
Aritra Gupta
Listen if you're into looks don't go there but if you want a fulfilling meal then this is the place to go on a budget, it's a inexpensive place but it's not cheap in standards of cooking or service. Please try to go to this place without fail if you're in the neighborhood as it's a real money saver and brings a large array of dishes to the table from Chinese to Indian food.
Sankha D. Mukherjee
Food not up to the mark but its very cheap, you can visit that place when you are running low on cash. Service is good and location wise not so good.
Anshumanntripathy
Butter roti and Maharaja Chicken is the food you need when you are sad. <br/><br/>This is one of those places where you just can't comment about ambience and interior since the food makes up for it. I usually prefer a takeaway. Try out the maharaja chicken which gives you a massive 20 Pc boneless chicken along with a lot of chicken keema gravy.
Pronomita Dey
Very pocket friendly. <br/>Approx 200-250 for two people. <br/>It's been 4 years now and this is one of the places in Bhubaneswar where the quality and quantity of food hasn't disappointed once. <br/>Place is very average. <br/>They accept cards and cash. <br/>Delivery serves available too. <br/>Bike parking available.
Paulami Das
A small busy food joint on kiit road.<br/>Tried chicken Maharaja and butter nun.ambience was ok.very pocket friendly.<br/>A frequent visitor of mdc.
Sandipan Chakraborty
Place is very small. Despite that food is very good. Famous for its preparation chicken maharaja along any bread. Tried the chicken alongwith with butter nan.
Tushar Choudhary
The food was okayish-good, and most importantly-cheap. Very cheap. There's not much to talk about ambience as it was just one small seating room, and a small kitchen besides that. And the restaurant was air conditioned.
Sudarshana Dutta
Pocket friendly and always a nice place to dine with friends. Not at all decorative and attractive but the food is amazing. The best is the Chicken Maharaja with stuffed kulcha or butter nan. The dry chilly chicken as well the crispy chilly baby corn are also great. All over experience is good but some might not like it's appearance as a restaurant, hence can always opt for home delivery. Must try :)
Pallavi Rathsharma
A little crowded while you go there.<br/>Less dining area.<br/><br/>Food : 4/5<br/>Good quantity and less price.<br/>Quality seems to be fine as well.<br/>Good for day to day dining purposes.<br/>Ambience : 3/5<br/>Less area and a little suffocating at times.
Atul Nayak
Highly recommended for college students staying in or near by Patia. The food served here is of good quality and the price is highly reasonable. The must try dish is the Chicken Maharaja which is basically curry version of the tandoori chicken with a blend of butter on top of it!Coming to the ambience part the restaurant is clean and tidy but not that big not sufficient to accommodate large group of people(You have to wait for some time) in case there is rush especially on weekends.
Sarang Rajpoot
Bhukhe baccho ko khana khilane ka punya kiya hai aapne! Bhaari baarish me home delivery! Waah bhai waah! Atyaaant swadisht bhojan ka aanad lene ke liye zarur aaye MDC! <br/>
Anusha Jha
This is a place a student can go frequently. The food is good and its damn cheap. Talking about food i prefer indian food more than Chinese here because they prepare the food with lot of oil and chilli which eventually is unappetising. The service is ok the waiters are really friendly but the have a poor power backup so if you are unlucky and while having your food the current goes off then you have to eat your food in that humid environment as it is a really small place. But food is quite decent and coming to the must try list one should try maharaja chicken, chicken kadhai, paneer butter masala, masala kulcha, garlic naan and chicken biryani.
Ritvika Sinha
Do try the chicken Maharaja<br/>Even the gravy had minced chicken in it. 300 for 4-5 people. 1 full bowl of chicken Maharaja. They have a half plate option also. And you can see in the pic... Difference between A full bowl of Paneer handi and chicken is huge. (pics attached)<br/>My only complaint is to fix the ac and serve chilled water. It's impossible to bear the heat in this scorching summer
Deeptarup Gupta
Had ordered chicken bharta and butter nun....d bharta was not upto d standards....d staff behaved well....and even helpd me 2 choose my main course.....onserving my profit in d best way means.........d place is a bit smalk but is neat and cleaned and well maintained...........its a gud place 2 visit........on a low budget....
@food_is_❤💕💖
After hearing a lot visited this place <br/>We ordered chawmin chicken curry mutton curry n rice <br/>Taste was average .. I didn't like the taste of chawmin <br/>M nt suggesting anyone to try chawmin n mutton curry from here <br/>I will back soon here for their other dishes bt till then my rating is 2.5 fr this place
Amrut Ranjan Ray
Extremely cost effective. The only reason me and my friends didn't go hungry on some days was because MDC sells Maharaja Chicken. Will find it crowded at times, but when you are cash Defecit the options are none.
Debankit
small restaurant. near kiit. foods tastes good and the prices are also low.service is fast. In all nice place to visit specially for students.we orderd tandoori butter roti and chicken do piaza and paneer butter masala and all of them were fabulous. And being from kolkata i found the place wuite cheap as compared to such places in our city
Golokesh Patra
Awesome food - 5/5<br/>Chicken Maharaja + masala kulcha ( staple food for all of kiit )<br/><br/>Service - 3.5/5<br/>Ambience - 3/5<br/><br/>But at the price , I dare you will ever notice service and ambience.
Suprodip Ghosal
An economic place with good quality food. Ambience and service could do with a revamp, otherwise an okayish place to have full meals with friends or family
Satyaki Banerjee
Good food.<br/>Must try the chicken maharaja :)<br/>Price is cheap.<br/>But space is small.<br/>North indian foods are of good quality :)<br/>Ambience is good.<br/>Food delivery available.<br/>
Abhisekh Satapathy
we ordered the chicken biryani and mushroom chilli , butter naan. Biryani was delicious and flavoursome,  mushroom chilli was also great but butter naan was very oily. The ambience was pleasantly nicer than i expected. Overall it was a great experience
Juhi Gupta
I haven't gone there but i have ordered food from MDC.<br/>Food is awesome and it won't burn a hole in your pocket that's for sure.Again..tasty food!
Somak Mukherjee
The food is cheap and a must go for students of Kiit University....it is difficult to find a place during dining hours as the place has very limited seating options...The Chicken Maharaja is their signature dish...do try it out.
Samrat Banerjee
Ideal place for college students on a low budget and standard quality food, only thing which was disappointing was sitting area is small to accommodate large number of customers so big group guys might have to wait a little bit but its worth it.
Subham Dalai
Cheap and good food. You won't find the ambience too good because the place is small and most of the time crowded (because of the demand). But the best thing is the food. They won't disappoint you at all. Service is good too. Chicken Maharaja and Naans go is a must try combo. They go great with each other.
Pratik Parida
Rating is less due to small accommodation place but otherwise its a great place to offer a local party and get fully stuffed at minimal amount of money .<br/>Eg chicken maharaja costs ₹320 , but it has 20 boneless chicken pieces with thick and delicious curry . One of my friends threw a party to around 18 people and it costed him around ₹2500 Only .
Rishi Raj
This is tiny place for empty pockets. You can suffocate here literally ! <br/>Food standards have went down since last year and the only good item is Chicken Maharaja which is also the trademark of this place. <br/>If you have no where else to go then try MDC, high chances that it will be already all booked.
Sonu Das
Good food and affordable price.come here and party.space is little but good for giving treat to 10to15 guys.one my favourite dishes here is chicken maharaja
Abhiroop Sen
This is the best affordable restaurant in Patia. The food quality is way better considering the low cost. The best dishes of their's are Chicken Maharaja,Chicken Butter Masala and Chicken Biriyani. Butter Naan is too delicious. Only con about this place is that they take long time to serve your order.
Karan Samal
Heard a lot about their Chicken Maharaja dish so got it delivered at my home. One full plate which costs Rs 320 and has 20 boneless pieces is a lot in quantity. It would be sufficient for 4-5 people as the chicken pieces are also medium sized. Though the gravy had everything ranging from kaju paste to sweetcorn & chicken keema, but it lacked in taste. It didn't have that authentic north indian taste as the chicken pieces were not marinated well.<br/><br/>I would like to try their Chicken Patiala dish sometime soon. Giving it 3 stars because of the quantity and the scope to try new dishes in future.
Ankit Azad
Decent place it is<br/>The food taste is nice no doubt in that and even the price is quite nominal.Really affordable but the ambience is not great as the restraunt is not that big <br/>Good for small parties including less people and location is close to Patia Big Bazaar <br/>Overall a decent option if you have less money but want good food and can adjust with a small place
Ankit
Prices are very nominal and quantity is sufficient. Maharaja chicken is very popular. If you are an ambience-lover, this place will be very disappointing. It remains crowded during the lunch hour. Do not expect anything special though(either service/quality).
Bibhu Prasad Sahu
Come a weekend and you want to crash in on cheap, tasty food then MDC is the choice. The Butter Nan is a delicacy, with good chicken items. In my opinion, the veg items are rather bland, with the exception of Malai Kofta.
Sauhard Samyak
The place is small with literally less amount of ambiance. However the food is good but the basic hygiene can be an issue with some people. Its based on a prime location but the problem is that it gets out unnoticed i.e. it took me literally 7 months to find this place and realize that its even a restaurant. But they offer a vast variety of food options at an affordable rate so thats a good catch for them and they can use this business technique to their advantage
Raktim
If you want one of the most delicious chicken pulao, then definitely visit this place! It is my personal best item in the menu. Quantity and quality, it is really top. But i would also recommend the chicken kadhai, malai kofta, paneer butter masala and nargis kofta here. Try out these items with masala kulcha, its a great combo. Its a bit cramped and you may need to wait a bit for a table, but the food makes up for the wait. A must visit place.
SHUBHAM SINGH
Yes, the place is pocket friendly for frequent visitors, i.e the college students.<br/>Food taste above average, the ambience is below expectation. But one thing which I hated was the service...!! It require a lengthy waiting time to satisfy your taste buds...!!
Manish Sehgal
It was a birthday party when I went for the first time there. But now I'm quite a frequent visitor. Being a vegetarian however doesn't leave you with much to try on but still I love the kadai paneer and kashmiri aloo dum they serve here. Ask them to make a bit spicy and enjoy the fun! <br/>Their Sizzler is also a great thing and Veg Navratna, I don't remember the correct name I guess, it is also a delight! <br/><br/>BUT. The ambience, lighting, and music is not good enough to compete with its local competitors and definitely it's not a first option for a cool place to hangout.
Gurooooo
Me and a group of friends headed out to this place at lunchtime... We were lucky enough to grab seats for ourselves as it was nearly full... Coming to food, we ordered the famous chicken maharaja and chicken Patiala along with rice and naan... It's not always that expectations are met and same was with chicken maharaja... After hearing a lot about this dish, we had gone with a lot of hope but it was nothing extraordinary... Personally I felt it was good but the chicken wasn't cooked properly since the inside of chicken was not having the flavors of masala... It was different and nice to see cherries on top but then it was a normal dish... Next was chicken Patiala which in my opinion was better than maharaja... This was nicely done with the tomato gravy adding a tinge of sweetness as well as tanginess to the gravy... <br/>Coming to the service, it was poor... We repeatedly kept on asking for water, soft drinks but we were kept waiting... <br/>Other than that, it's OK... This place is good in terms of value for money...
Sagnik Talukdar
This is the place I frequently visit. Well known for the maharaja. Anything like naan or kulcha goes good with it . It serves 4 people easily. Best place for any treat if you are in a small group. Because limited sitting and the ambience is okay . 😀
Sromona Banerjee
Mainly for the students, the place is small and very pocket-friendly. With barely 200 bucks in your pocket you can have a heavy meal that would calm your stomach and please your taste-buds. The Chicken Maharaja is their signature dish where the gravy consists of chicken keema. It, coupled with nun or paratha, provides for a delicious dinner/lunch. The North Indian Cuisine is mainly what it is known for. The mixed vegetable and the paneer masala is also good to taste. A bit on the spicy side, all the chicken dishes are more or less the same taste and preparation. The restaurant is a saviour for those tight month-ends. The Chicken Rolls are large, stuffed with a lot of chicken pieces which can be a heavy pocket-friendly snack in the evening!
Nikhil Agrawal
If you are on budget then go for it. Cost are very less as compare to other restaurants. As i am a vegetarian, i prefer its paneer dishes and its good in taste and also in quantity. Cant say about Non veg dishes. <br/>They take less time to serve your food.
Swagat Patasahani
The food was ok for the prices charged. Went to try their Maharaja Chicken. It was good and went well with the combination of Naan. But then, did a mistake of ordering another gravy based chicken, Chicken Patiala, the gravy was completely same as the Maharaja. The pieces were small, they served in on a tray. Wow. Non existant service and ambience, very small outlet. Good for students. I would rather suggest to take up parcel and eat at home.<br/><br/>- Abhishek Mitra
Shobhit Batta
Been there twice. This place is very close to kiit campus at patia. Although it had dominos and pizza hut nearby. But this place is a must visit. Tried Kashmiri Aloo Dum which tasted good. The breads were soft. The good quality food with the reasonable price is a good take away of this place.
Eram Saba
If you want to eat your heart out and you are running tight on your budget or it's the end of the month (students will get this :-P), or if you have an empty stomach that is craving food because you are obsessed with the mess food and certainly have skipped a meal or two ( e.g. Kiitians ), then this place is definitely the one you are looking for. <br/>Very low and reasonable prices, quick serving and value for money are the oomph factors of this place.<br/><br/>P.S. - Non Vegetarians, you can't afford missing their Chicken Maharaja. Take a good bunch of hungry friends of yours and dive into the quality and quantity of this one. You can thank me later.
Abhinav Dhar
Ordered Chicken Butter Masala, Chilly Chicken and Aloo Paratha as home delivery, and though the former 2 were 'good enough' the Aloo Paratha was, to put it politely, bad.<br/>It hardly had any potato in it. At 30 bucks apiece, it is not cheap too, which made it all the worse for us.<br/>The paratha was full of maida, and just destroyed the taste of the food.I really hope that if I do go there the next time, it will change.<br/><br/>P.S. Kindly update the menu.
Amlan
Had the much talked about Maharaja Chicken here. It was great and the naan was good but a little chewy. The place was not too crowded and the ambiance is good. The place is great for having a full meal without straining you pocket. This place deserves a chance if you are ever in Patia.
Anand Sankar
Ordered Egg Tadka and naan here. But the tadka was not anything near perfect. The chicken might be good as said in other reviews but if going for a proper taste of the particular food then you are going to be disappointed!
ProBaho Das
Serves the best chicken dish in the area. The chicken maharaja. Its a must have. Not too crowdy. So the ambience is okay. Also very friendly with pocket. Its a students haven for short planned eat outs and get together.
Amlan Panigrahi
"Never judge a book by it's cover". That's what I got to realize once again today for underestimating MDC for it's mere size and congested atmosphere. We (with my friends) were the first people to enter today with absolute hunger during lunch time. Soon the restaurant was packed with customers embracing the taste of their food. Rather than the usual soup, naan.....the item called Patiala Chicken (very rare in BBSR) hooked me completely to it's rich authentic yet classic taste. The egg layer topping over the Chicken along with the gravy was simply outstanding.....yummm...just simply superb. I highly recommend you to have it here. The dal fry served in a 'mini-balti' looked good but wasn't that great. Still, according to my opinion MDC could be one among the best restaurants in Patia especially on the basis of authenticity and classic cookery. Do drop by here sometime.
Vishal Mishra
Small restaurant with no ambience but rating is for the food. Nice quantity and taste and very affordable price. Chicken Fried Rice and veg Manchurian are my personal favourite.<br/>Chicken Maharaja is the best dish here.<br/>
Abhipri Chakraborty
Reasonable price..good quantity and quite tasty.. Chicken maharaja is awesome.. Prompt service .. For small treats and eating in groups this place is perfect..
Pratik Dhanwani
For chicken lovers its just a perfect place, seriously i was shocked when i saw the quantity of that dish and that too with a very low price. Paneer butter masala, masala kulcha, infact all paneer dishes are good.
Suman Sangeet
The resturant is a small one nd usually filled up. So being crowded always u have noise here nd there from every where. Staff is good though.<br/>Talking about the ambience its ok , these guys have to fix that staircase else it is difficult nd risky for its customers to enter nd come out specially for elderly people , i meam any one may fall out of that stairs without no railings. <br/>Now the food is good , the prices are really good for the food they offer. Talking about there special dish Chicken Maharaja the toppings of cherry is good nd the masala is fine too but as there is a thick layer <br/> of corn flour over that chicken it was really irritating. Apart from that everything was fine.<br/>It's a good pocket freindly resturant.
Ayindrila Sen
A good resturant. Price is very much reasonable. Great place for college peeps! Indian cuisines here is very delcious !!! A hub for fast food eaters !!
Soumya Sen
Popular place for eating for college students. Home delivery is also very popular. The Maharaja Chicken is just awesome. Try it with butter nan. The regular fare in the menu are also good. Prices are good :)
Paras Padhi
Yeah well I will keep it short this time -<br/><br/>'Just Another Good Option' <br/><br/>Everything tastes reasonable .. Pricing is very economical .. No ambience - General seating .. Menu is the usual with no special items .. The place gets packed around peak time i.e 1 PM and 9.30 PM so better get there early .. Chicken Kadai and Chicken Biriyani are prepared very well with good quality .. A very economical restaurant and they dnt charge any tax .. ✌🏻️<br/><br/>Prefer take away because it is mostly crowded .. This place will get visits out of you .. ✔️
Arko Biswas
A nice place for a budget meal. The quality of the food served is good, the place specialises in the north Indian cuisine.A place to treat your friend at affordable prices.Chicken maharaja is their most popular dish and deservingly so because of the quality and quantity both are worth the value for the money. It would be suggested not to try Chinese dishes here.<br/><br/>The ambiance too is decent, expect a nice meal here.
Arup Dutta
This place is for students the taste is decent and price is absolutely bang for buck ...... The place is little cramped and very little sitting space.
Bikram Behera
The food is decent and the taste was quite satisfactory. Though has a small dine-in area but is always crowded. The service is not upto the mark. A totally budget friendly and value for money experience.<br/>Must Try: Maharaja Chicken
Debojyoti Dhar
In the crowd of emerging restaurants in Patia, MDC has managed a name for itself amongst its student patrons, serving both quality and quantity on its plate. I prefer this place for takeaways rather than dining there. All tandoor items are worth tasting however am not much a fan of its chinese offerings. Chicken Maharaja Platter is becoming a rage in this area and is the signature dish here.<br/><br/>A great place to tangle your tastebuds on a low budget for filling tasty food.
Saurav Dutta
Food is nice .. The most sold dish at MDC is chiclen maharaja . the cost is reasonable and they serve huge quantity . the food is really good and cost effective .. One thing they lack is a proper set up .. Area is small and during peak hours .. U will mostly find it filled ..
Tushar Karedla
This is the place to be if you are low on budget and you are really really hungry! The best thing to order is the Chicken Maharaja, which costs approx. 300/- and serves 20 pieces of chicken! Good place if you have a hungry group of friends and its the end of the month.
Vishwajeet Chattopadhyay
This place best suits those who really need some good food at a more than reasonable price especially students. There's a space crunch so you might have to wait before you get seated.Must try are Chicken Maharaja and Paneer Hyderabadi.
Tanmoy Adhikari
There is a cook problem associated with this restaurant.<br/>If you are unlucky you would get different taste everyday for the same items ordered.<br/>Its mainly For the KIITians. <br/>Chicken bharta is really good
