Had a lunch buffet, so it was good

I really loved the meal that I had at Aurelec Cafeteria, one of the many food establishments run by and for the people of Auroville, near Pondicherry. All the produce is organically grown at Auroville's farms and served fresh in a lunch buffet between 12 to 1:30 pm. I paid around 200 for my meal. Also, a side of unlimited fruit juice. This day they were serving guava juice. 😍💖 The food is generally a mix of Indian and Western, with South Indian favourites sharing space with salads and porridge. It has a nice, green and open seating area.

A vert spacious compound with indoor and outdoor seating where one can enjoy a vegetarian lunch buffet. The spread includes white and brown rice, dals, freshly made rotis, crispy fries, salads with a selection of dressings, different vegetable curries, curd, unlimited quantities of some variety of juice and mint tea. The food is really tasty and the ambience is good for a relaxed lunch. There is a large parking area. The lunch buffet is priced at Rs. 220.

Formidable vegetarian buffet with generally a pretty good number of vegan options. Nice mix of local South Indian and continental dishes. Plenty of fresh leaves and veggies with assorted salad seasoned, and nice, fresh fruit juice included on the buffet. Pleasant seating outdoors behind the buffet is available. My only complaint is that they don't mark vegan dishes (though usually at least 75% are vegan) and there is often some confusion among the staff as to what is and what isn't.

Excellent food. One can have proper Indian meal. Best options for vegetarians. Cool place to sit around and hangout. Decent prices too. Taste is good and hygiene. Large trees, green garden, outdoor tables and comfortable chairs. A family can spend best time here and friendly environment. Good service from the restaurant. Has buffet system and self service.

A great place for vegetarians in Auroville. Quite pocket friendly and the people are very kind and polite. A good afternoon buffet style lunch is worth taking time out of your schedule if you're visiting.

Been here for breakfast with friends. Ambiance is great. Spacious. Food is decent enough. We ordered mayo chicken sandwich which is great...

I am not such a fan of “healthy organic” food but this place sure might change that if visited often. For a lover of the ginger chai, being able to taste ginger in the iced tea was almost a moment of epiphany. The marble cake tastes as delicious as it looks. I remember falling for it when I saw it on a Kid’s plate. The place is very decently priced, crowded during lunch time and filled with delicious aromas of different kinds of food! The portions of the main dishes are fairly large. It is by all means, a must visit.

Worth the money!

Food 5/5
Service - buffet.
Ambience 3.5/5 average
Value for money 4/5

For Aurovillians, 140/meal which is very much worth it - as compared to the organic, tasty and unlimited food they offer. I once got invited by an aurovillian friend, and really liked the food. Lot of options to eat. For non-aurovillians, it's 190/meal

The cafe has one of the best atmosphere and ambiance.... Get some sandwich and roam around the campus... Its sooo aurelec..... The best place to be twinkled and be relaxed

Location of this cafe is a great plus point for them as there are few options there. Food wise not that great I would say. Ordered for pineapple juice and brownie. Juice was pulpy but brownie was not that good.

Aurelec Cafeteria is a bright, cheery spot on a lazy weekend. It is well known for its Sunday buffets where hours whiz past with great friends and amazing food on balmy afternoons, and comes highly recommended if you find yourself in AV on a Sunday.
It is one of the few places that accepts both Aurocard and cash.

Went for their buffet lunch on Sunday. Rich, tasty, healthy spread they had @ RS.200/-. Their spread will remind food lovers how tasty vegetables can be. Their salads are a must try. The place is spacious and offers not-so-common food like brown rice. A MUST-TRY eating place when you are in Pondicherry and near Auroville.

If you're in Auroville, a meal here is a must. I would recommend the veg quiche for lunch. Finish it off with a slice of marble cake. It's moist and has just the right amount of chocolate. The ambience is minimalistic but it'll do. I make it a point to go there every time I'm in Pondicherry.

Omg the food here is so high quality and plentiful. Lovely ambience too. I eat here every day when in the area. Very good value for money, also nice place for the community to gather.

Beautiful outdoor seatings under the old huge trees in the garden. Very kind staff and clean place. The lunch buffet is healthy and yummy! Very filling and light on the stomach. Its a social place to meet new people amd share ideas. Everytime you leave the cafe, you will be a different person :)
