Review Tibet Bar & Restaurant - Calangute

Ashitha Vijayan
Loved the food.. It was extremely delicious and reasonably priced. Became my favourite comfort food place. Would like to try rest of the dishes in menu during next visit. This was my first experience with such authentic Tibetan Delicacies. Would recommend you all to try out. Hope you will find your comfort food just like I did midst of my travel, kilometers away from home.

Located on the Calangute beach road this restaurant is located on the first floor. Service is quick and staff is very friendly. We asked for recommendation for the food and she suggested the below that we ordered. We ordered Yaki Gyoza in pork and chicken, Tingmo (Tiberian bread), Shaptra (Tiberian beef chilli), all three were exceptionally good. We also ordered Shredded Lamb with Green Pepper which was average. Overall a great place to sit, chill and eat with good ambiance as well. Will definitely visit this place again only for their Shaptra, Yaki Gyoza and Tingmo!

Good and old place. The food is authentic to the place. But visiting it over 7 years straight, the staff seems to be changing every-time but not the taste. You can try their noodles and rice which are loaded with vegetables. For non vegetarian lovers, this place serves pork as well.

It's a wonderful place to enjoy your evenings, although you have a lot of western pop music playing which dosent blend well with the atmosphere but that is made up for with the amazing Tibetan food. The overall food quality and service was great but I feel you would do better with more waiters since there is only one guy taking the orders and serving the food. Overall this place is a must try if you're in Calangute.

A cute homely space at calangute very close tk the beach. It is a family run space. And serves absolutely delicious mostly authentic Tibetan cuisine. We tried the pork dumplings, the vegetarian thukpa and the steamed bun.. They were delicious and warming to the soul. I will be going back there to try out more. It's a simple place. On the top floor. They have a washroom which was neat and clean. Service was lovely as well.
Stephenie Robertson
The momos here are simply mouth watering, especially the pan fried chicken momos. Service is also good. The ambience is fairly good considering that it is on the main road in calangute. All in all, the perfect choice for a momo lover.
Pallavi Salunke
We ordered momos and thupka and both were delicious. Also tried Local Beer. Ambience was nice.

The place has a comforting ambience, close to the calangute beach, serves Amazing Momos! And you get 10 pieces!! The ginger honey lemon tea is a must try.. pork chilly can make you drool! Polite smiling staff makes the experience even better! #I visited the restaurant 5 times in three days 🤓

Loved it, yummy Tibetan food. It was authentic food. Light and easy on the stomach. Price was reasonable. This is near Baga beach, walkable distance.

Totally loved the vibe and the host. Delicious and scrumptious food. Total 10 on 10. And also prices are reasonable. So a yayy yayy from my end.

This place is usually where we dine last to finish our Holidays in Goa. Serving authentic Tibetan cuisine since 1997,this place has kept up to it name. The food is inexpensive, there are a lot of dishes to try here both veg & non-veg are equally good. Start with the golden fried prawns, firey beef chilly Tibetan style, Wonton soup and Thukpas are very warming and filling. Chicken momos bothe steamed and fried, Chicken Chow mein, Chinese Chop suey, Fish in Black bean sauce, Burnt Garlic fried rice, Bean curd dishes.
Simran Manchanda
One of the best....

Cozy place with Tibetian music giving you the feel of being in Tibet. Tried the pan fried momos, the beef chilly and the steam bun.
Momos were delicious, juicy and saculent, a must try. The beef chilly had a mild spice to it but the beef was very tough for my liking. The steamed buns were fluffy and piping hot.
Will be back for more :)

Went here to try authentic Tibetan food. Prawns Fried rice is a must try. Chicken Dumplings are very moist and tasty. Later we ordered Chicken Thukpa which i think are Tibetan noodles. Ms. Tenzing's helped us through the menu and suggested us to order. Good ambience.

Visited the place for dinner,as I learnt from Zomato that they serve authentic Tibetan dishes... Love and behold - they really do and how - with lots of love and affection. The appreciation for the food served will be bit off if I specifically don't mention about Ms. Tenzing. She guided us to have some good food which we are not normally aware of.
We started with Thukpa - beef and pork. The taste was brilliant. Next was Tingmo(Tibetan Bread) accompanied by Beef Shapta (thinly sliced beef in dry or semi gravy spicy sauce), since we've had somewhat more than generous servings wanted to taste something not accompanied by rice, chow, noodles or bread. We were recommended Pork Spare Ribs in Sweet and Sour sauce.....oh boy oh boy.... Good thing we visited the place... I am sure going back only for this...
Total value for money place, ambience is good, authentic dishes and helpful hosts will leave you delighted to the inner core....

When I was on a trip to goa, after being tired of all the fish thalis and English breakfast and what not, I wanted something different. That is when I found this Tibetan restaurant tucked in a corner. This place was kind of nearby to my place of stay too..so we entered this place and ordered just a plate of steamed chicken momos. They had a wide variety of items in their menu, but sadly, our stomach was already stuffed. The momos were as good as they can get! Soft and juicy , with spicy momo chutney to go with!
The MetroMan
The food here is fresh, tasty and the quantity is good. Visited twice, the waiter remember the previous orders as well. We order Chicken momo , Pork momo & Tuna Salad. This place is always full with customers coz the food is Aswome and the price is very reasonable. Highly recommended, you will never be disappointed.

We walked into this place because it started pouring and this was the nearest shelter.

In terms of ambience , this was a very basic restaurant but it had a great choice of Tibetan food to choose from.

We had some problems in communicating our order to the table attendant but once he understood what we wanted, the food arrived soon.

Since we were dripping wet we asked for :

Mixed vegetable soup - It arrived hot and I do not know if that is how Tibetan food is but it was absolutely bland with only salt and vegetables ,no exotic vegetables either.

We seasoned and added chili sauce to suit our North Indian taste buds .
The quantity provided was sufficient for one person .

Next on we ordered a Vegetarian Thenthuk - a kind of flat Tibetan noodles with veggies- the noodles were tasty but again it was quite bland ,yet I was happy with this dish. This had large quantity .

Lastly we had spicy Honey chicken - this had lot of vegetables and much less chicken though the chicken was quite flavourful and nice .

Alcohol is available but only select drinks.Prices are pocket friendly .
Simply Scrumptious
If u want to eat best momos in Goa u need to visit tibet , 5* 😊non veg momos and
for veg momos I give 4 * because my team only love appreciate non veg momos

The seafood thukpa i ordered wasn't upto the mark, also did not like the hospitality of the staff. The main waiter(cashier) wasn't the nicest of people, atleast in my experience.
Anupama T Rodrigues
If you are a momo lover then this is the place you should visit. We had pork momos and their special thenthuk which is flat home made pasta with veggies and mix of all meats. It's a full meal. Loved their beef chilly fry, Mongolian beef and fried pork chilly. It's a roof top restaurant. James is the main staff and very polite and funny. Go for it. Must try their momos.

Do you wanna try some Tibet cuisine when you are in Goa please come here they have amazing dumplings and sea food to serve!! The service is great and the owner are very humble and sweet !!
Wayne Soares
Hmmm, not much to really say. Portions can be so much larger in size. The lollypops I ordered weren't the greatest and were white / yellow in colour. The triple rice was again underwhelming. In short not the greatest.
Pickled Up
The place Tibet should say it all with the type of food they serve but apparently it's not up to the mark at all.had ordered for meatball gravy instead of actually tasting grounded beef it tasted like veg meatball gravy. Burnt garlic Fried rice had no garlic but more of vegetables..service is quite bad as the service guy does not know what are the portions, type of preparation etc.not recommended

Well we went their last month it was our 3days tour... From bangalore. Loved the tibetian style noodles, continentail beef steak, and offcourse the traditional style beef starter cant remember the name... 👍👍👍

Chilly pork, chilly beef & kingfisher Strong to start with. Special tinthuk & chilly garlic noodle made our night. Efficient service & friendly staff. Must visit...
Sudip Jana
Best thukpa in city. 5 stars are rare on my reviews. Its has 2 reasons for this. Firstly, they dared to serve tibetian food where ppl in India cant live without roti sabji and spice. This kind of food has none. Secondly, this food is more about flavoring food with few spices and herbs. Which makeS it - FOOD PREPARED FOR PURPOSE. This place is must for ppl who love to try different food. Service is prompt and staff is very nice. Owner was kind enough to provide mixture of two types of dishes in one plate.. Appreciable

Me and wife tried two types of Thukpa... Believe me guys, it was waterly delicious. Its healthy with no or no or minimum oil. Best combination of health and taste.... Must try

Guys!! Being in Goa and not treating your taste bud with some spicy chilly pork, yaki gyoza, fish steak.... would be a sin... I have visited this place for so many times..and wanna redo. Budget friendly, nicely gestured host..so for me 2 thumbs up for Tibet.

Excellent Tibetan food always consistent and tastes the same. Must trys pork momo, beef shapta and ting momo. Their Chinese food is excellent, clean and homely ambience with good service.

This place is budget friendly and the food is super tasty. Its run by a family and they make u feel very much at home with their gestures and smiles. They play tibetan music and overlooking the market, you can enjoy some really amazing tasty chinese, tibetan food. I did try so many things since m visiting this place more than 10-15 times already. Must try when in goa.

Soul food available here. Place is on the first floor of the building. So ask around for it. Tried veg egg thukpa, honey chilli potatoes, mix veg soup. Absolutely lovely food.

This place is the original Tibetan food point. Service is quick . Looking for just the businrss to eat real Tibetan food , this is the place to be in .

Food was good.you can definitely go ahead and try. They wont disappoint you but but but it depends on the mood of the waiter. Adding 3 only because of ridiculous behaviour of the waiter.
Food:5 star
Service: -5 star
Ambiance:- 3 star.

Note: Before having food here. Kindly go ahead and ask how is the mood of waiter. Because if he is in the bad mood then you wont get service you are expecting.
Benson D’Souza
Delicious Tibetan food. Their Special Thenthuk along with Tingmo (Traditional Bread) is a Must Try! Other than that their momos are one of the best, along with their smooth service.

Tibet is one place that I can't stop going. I have turned into a regular here. The food always gets me back. Favourites have been pork chilly, pork ribs and fish manchurian.
Ashwani Gupta
Chicken sizzler was ok...Veg items were below avg...Veg noodles and fried rice...Hot n sour soup was really bad...Will not prefer for Tibetan cuisine..

No place like this when it comes to Asian food.

A very small and decent looking place on the first floor of a building in the middle of a busy street in Calangute, this place is not very easy to spot, but definitely worth the search and indulgence.

The food is delicious beyond measure here, especially their momos, chicken momos and potato and cheese momos are my personal favourite. The thukpa soup is also a must try here.

Ensure you have a good appetite and hunger before you enter!

We sometimes have momos for breakfast when i goa ahead of all the drinks and all. Well made momo always feels great and pure after a night of irresponsible eating drinking. We normally used to go to Taste of Tibet, but since it was shut for renovation we tried Tibet which is just a few steps ahead on the second floor. The seating overlooks the calangute crossing road market.
We ordered a few types of momo and all of them were good. Specially the fried ones. The boiled ones were a littles less plentiful in my opinion. Plus they did not give the white soup which was a bummer.
The chilli pork was good. We ordered masala tea and surprisingly that was wonderful.
The ambience is relaxed and the restaurant is well decorated. The staff were friendly and prompt.
Overall a nice visit. But Taste of Tibet is a bit better in my opinion. Will visit again.

This place serves real good Momo's and T'gmos and shapta.. if you are in goa and looking for Tibetan cuisine then this is one of the best options ! The only drawback is the traffic and crowd at Calangute which can be irritating

Ambience 8
Service 8
Food 9

I've been landing at momo places way too often lately. This was a random stop for dinner after an event in Calangute. Well, I wasn't dissappointed one tad bit with this little rooftop restaurant on a busy Calangute street. Oh yes, the street is super crowded, but we did manage to find parking and found our way to the restaurant by climbing the dimly lit stairway.

Had been to this place with friends for dinner. The place serves some awesome Tibetan food. The food is very close to authentic but made to the Indian taste. The momos are the best I have had so far in a while. The chowmein is good too. The service is very fast but the ambiance is average.
Amulya Beri
Good taste... Justified price... Ambience is the thing you guys need to work on... I would like to mention about the awesome taste of omelette that I had over here along with the only place serving amazing tea in goa...

Coming back to this every time I'm in goa . Small and very warmly done up place with personal touch and managed by family itself . Well prepared food with taste of home kitchen , food says by itself . Preparation is good , tasty , authentic and place is relaxing to chill and chit chat , looking over the busy street of beach road . One must visit here .
All d best .
God bless .

This place is right next to the calungate beach . For authentic momos . A different taste in momos . Thupka is so fillibg that its your soup and meal both . For good lip smacking heart content of tibetan food , this place is just right .
Richa Batta
So we were itching to have authentic momos and came across this cute this joint in calangute.. The place has a nice vibe of Tibet with red flags and picture of Dalai Lama, even the staff is also from their native place..
We tried their staple, chicken thukpa and chicken momos. . The broth of the thukpa was full of flavor and loads and loads of noodles and chicken. .they could have added less noodles in this dish to make it more easy to eat.. chicken momos were delicious..very juicy..Overall a great place to try...
Nimesh Gala
If you are really bored of the same stuff in Goa. Then sure try this one. Tibet, made me remember by sojourn in Ladakh. Try thukpa and momos.. Its the best. Service is quick. Platter size serves two. Tastes authentic.
Saurabh Saha
The momos are the best...service is slow but the tasty food makes up for the delay, the beautiful music and the decoration just adds up to the beautiful experience.

Tired of seafood, I was craving Chinese/Tibetan food in Goa, and decided to visit this small restaurant on the Calangute road for some quick lunch.
The service is quite slow...but that might be because they were just starting off for the day; but the food was simply too good!
Their pork momos are one of the best I have had in my life. Highly recommended!

The furnishings are simple, but the bright red furnishings and some creepers along the wall add a different charm to it.
Will surely re-visit on my next trip
Aditya Lad
Everyone must try Spicy Honey Chicken at this place. The ambience is quiet extra ordinary, and the food here though has limited quantity, the taste is jsut fine. I gave a try to few more dishes which were good, but it has the best taste for the dish i mentioned earlier.
Anand Bherwani
Poor taste.
I have visited this place for the fourth time.

Over time the taste of food is gone ridiculous poor quality food
Momos were like rubber and half cooked
Noodles again tasteless.
Not recommended ever.
Hamid
We ordered couple of Tibetian specialties, do not know how authentic the food is, as this is my first, but i must say the taste was exceptionally good and more like Chinese cuisine. The flip side is however the cold reception by the hoteliers, this is however very common in most Goan restaurants.
Gunjan Bhasin
This place is on the main Calangute beach road. I visited as a friend wanted to try thukpa and momos.

It is nicely decorated place which actually takes you to the tibetian world. Surprisingly a single person was serving on all tables and I must say he was quick and decent enough and attending each and every guest properly. He was the one who was taking order, serving as well as making bills for atleast 10 occupied tables.

Coming to the food, it was better then many food joints I have tried in pune.

Thukpa was the authentic one and momos were excellent.

Overall a great experience.

Taste : 4.5/5
Service : 4/5
Ambience : 3/5
VFM : 4/5

Average price for 2 : 400-500

Awesome family run restaurant in the heart of calangute.Extensive menu and everything we tried was excellent .Best momos in goa. The spicy chilly dry sauce is like mouthwatering gun powder... Can't stop eating it.

This place is on the way to Calangute beach, near Mtdc hotel. We have been visiting this place for years. We make sure that we visit this place in every trip. You will get authentic and mouth watering momos.... Try the Thukpa, kimbo and chicken tikka.
Ngakpa
Good place to hang out. Momos are good. Waiter are really eager to help and decide what is the best.

Ambience is OK but, not great. Probably, too much of Tibetan as name suggests. They should be more proactive in explaining their culture.

They need to improve the washroom in term of cleanliness.
