Review Ripples Gastropub - Calangute

Goa is all about the colours and this sweet little happy place will add more colours. We just stopped there to have a quick bite and a refreshing drink. The server convinced us to have a beer bucket and some fish preparations. The preparations were quite good and ambience was pretty cool clubbed with the warmth of the owner. Being a vegetarian I couldn’t had anything except the coconut water which was served pretty interestingly but my family was so happy with its preparations that they ordered to pack some more to have for lunch. This is just 2 steps away from the beach. Must visit for its food and comfortable ambience.

Discovered this joint by sheer chance. Was recommend by a local.. very close to the beach, great music, which they serve with heart ... and OMG food.. What to eat : chicken cafreal, prawn masala, prawn curry , goan pork sausages, bebinca, All washed down with kings beer! I'd go and sit there for hours.. just for their playlist ...

Food is what I crave for and ripples just serves it right. My visit to Ripples was worth time and money. Indian fusion food is the menu and it was just gorgeous. Food is served hot and smartly handled staff. I personally thank the Chef for his commitment and determination towards the food that is prepared at Ripples. The ambience of the restaurant is admirable and the beach is just a minutes walk.

Okay the only reason I would give this place a star less is due to the narrow access to get there and the fact that they have no generator back up which in Goa for any commercial outlet is just not a good thing considering the multiple power cuts. The food done by their chef Peter is actually quite wholesome and tasty, mind you not goumet but tasty and filling. And their main manager cum bartender Marschek is a fun guy to have a conversation with plus he is great with his service. The owners were there when I visited and very hospitable and attentive, so overall a really good experience for me.

Ripples is a Cozy little Eatery, tucked into a quite corner of Calangute, a pristine peaceful section of the beach just metres away. We attended a party there and everything we were served was delicious and flavourful. The staff was friendly and prompt and the owner Smitha was a cheerful smiling hostess who made sure we had a memorable experience.

I attended a party that was hosted at Ripples which is a cozy little gastro pub situated close to the beach and I must say the overall experience I had was great....Right from the ambience to the service and food! My favourite had to be the Goan chicken cafreal stuffed in the traditional poi....a special mention goes to Smitha, an amazing host who perpetually had a lovely smile on her face!

Excellent sea food the crabs and the deep fried prawns were out of the world. The manage merckson was too good with his service and his sence of humor. He just knows his guest. A fun place and friendly staff. Great place to chill out. . And sera Dora is something to die for.

I went today to this pub with family. It was such a wonderful experience straight from the beach a cool place to have really tasty food. Service is awesome. Will plan again to come with family.

Hello there First of all I would like to thank Chef Axino for his wonderful skill and knowledge about the dishes that he presents. A must try is tempura fried prawns with nimbu mirchi air foam. Yummy and mouth watering food. Service is very friendly. Food preps took decent amount of time. I would highly recommend it for all the foodies out there in Goa, Calangute. I will visit again soon. ♥️

I loved the food. Their chef cooks food different cousins and some of the you will not get in Goa like their ''CHOCOLATE CURED CHICKEN WITH CHILLI MOUSSE''

Ripples is very close to the Calangute beach yet away from my heart as they could have been better not just in the food but also in their hospitality.<br/><br/>Stroganoff was very bland and dear manager was somehow rude but I wish things could change the next time we visit as it's Goa and it can always surprise you!

Please don't come here. This is a messy place, kittens would come and go below from your table. They serve damn small portions and were not at all tasty. Pasta was just super simple and bad. The sizzler was super super bad. Don't ever order it. They don't know how to make sizzler. Request you not to come here.

The person at the bar was too jolly person, he made my birthday afternoon so relaxing after a hectic journey from Mumbai,<br/>The beer offers they had, wow led to the drinking spree.<br/>Food was quite good, good Italian and goan dishes.<br/><br/>Overall it is recommendable for any types of groups or bachelors.<br/>And being nearer to the beach, the ambience is enough to mellow out.

You can enjoy your meal each day available you can hang out with your friends family you can also have meeting while having your lunch breakfast or dinner space is so neat and clean you will feel so hygienic while having your lunch or dinner

We went to this place for lunch between 12:30 - 3:00 PM<br/><br/>We were attended by a a very polite fella by name Ankit.<br/><br/>We ordered Rava fried Pomphret, Fried Prawns, Goan sytle chicken, Chicken fried rice, couple of beers nd mocktails..<br/><br/>We were very satisfied with the taste of food and quality of service with true goan spirit..<br/><br/>We highly recommend this place for a peaceful meal with loved ones..<br/><br/>Note: Zomato gold was not applicable for sea food.<br/>Ps: White owl beer was sold at mrp and all beers are very competitively price... 🍻

We waited for 1.5 hours for any food to arrive, it took us 3 hours to have food and get out of the restaurant even though we were the only people there. Btw they did not allow us to use zomato gold.

The chicken dishes were really good. I think we ordered the ripples special and chicken chilly fry for starters and they were simply yummy. However the seafood was not up to the mark. The kingfish wasn't fresh and the squid masala fry was a little tangy in taste. But overall a decent place to visit with friendly staff.

The environment is relaxing with added staff nature who are very much polite n friendly while they serve you . Food is tasty n made in a hygienic way. this beautiful, happy n relaxing place in calungute away from humbug towards the quiter side of beach. specialize in Goana and SeaFood. The ambience is a Portuguese styled home which takes the whole experiance to another level.<br/>The food hygienic is excellent. The service is impeccable. I visited this place for an afternoon lunch.The food was average. You guys should work on improving the taste specially chinese..Most of the items on menu were not served may be due to the season.the music was good.<br/>The service was also good.

Came here on the 2nd day of my goa trip , ordered chicken tandoori and soup ,<br/>The soup was so creamy i was lost in words ,<br/>The chicken was soo tender it almost melted in our mouths so was the atmosphere, perfect for any travellers,. Just off the beach ,nice garden sit-out with tables and chairs and hammock and a regular restaurant with music and happy hours , beer buckets ,projectors for the game nights etc!!!!!! a minutes walk to the beach. Fresh Sea food and Indian dishes , family loved the desserts as well , overall one of the most friendly places in the surroundings. Safe parking available as well which is an add on.

Overall good. We had ordered tandoori chicken, chicken sizzler, Garlic pepper chicken in non-veg and mixed veg curry in veg along with Indian breads. Everything was tasteful. Coming to the desserts, Sera Dora is a must try. You should never leave this place without trying it. Bebinca was good as well ! A worthy mention to Mr. Merckson for the extremely perfect hospitality. A jovial person who lifts the mood of the restaurant.

The lovely place is tucked in a lane near Calangute beach. We tried the Chicken Cafreal and paneer masala with veg fried rice. The chicken dish was awesome and paneer gravy was also well prepared. Would love to come again to try the sea food at this place. Also, did I mention that they have BOGO on cocktails.

We tried their starters and mocktails which were spot on !The starters and mocktails we tried are as follows!<br/>1) Ripples classic drink ( Green apple)<br/>2) Prawns skewer<br/>3) Prawns tempura<br/>4)Charcoal chicken tikka kebab<br/>5) Stuffed mushroom kebab<br/>6) Virgin pink lady (mocktail)<br/><br/>Ripples classic drink that is the green apple drink (non alcholic) was so refreshing and was perfectly sweet ! If you don't drink alcohol or prefer mocktails do try out this one it's a must try !Secondly we tried was virgin pink lady it was litchy flavoured drink and was another spot on drink , there was no fault in the drinks we tried ! Both were amazing , big thumbs up for both !If you don't drink coctails do opt for this ripples special mocktails!<br/><br/>Prawns skewers, weren't the common prawns skewer it was marinated with pickles and other ingredients, the prawns were fresh and when I had the bite it was crunchy and had a nice pickled taste to it giving it a twist!<br/>.<br/>Prawns tempura was my personal favourite it just stole the show of all the starters we had, I never saw a dish served with a foam or even tried it ,when it was served to us we were stunt to see a foam with the prawns , the foam was not any common foam it was a chilli and lime foam and the prawns were so tasty and had so much flabour to it ! Hands down my personal favourite has to be prawn tempura!<br/><br/>Chicken charcoal kebab, this dish is been only served exclusively only at ripples and no where else in Goa! This chicken is been prepared with edible charcoal , hungcurd, mustard and sesame oil and the edible charcoal powder that is used is pretty expensive! It's a little hard from outside but when you bite it its like this surprise you get because the inside of it has very soft chicken meat!It's been served with chilly mayonnaise Definitely worth a try !<br/><br/>Stuffed Mushroom kebab were served to us in two different ways , one in tandoor style and one in green masala style , both were stuffed with cheese and were tasty If you are a vegetarian do try them out !

Located towards the interiors of Calangute(use GPS), and close to the sea, ripples is an open air, spacious restaurant with an indoor and outdoor dining space, having a chilled out and relaxed ambience. They specialize in modern Indian fusion cuisine, creating some quirky and innovative dishes. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Ask for Mr Meckerson and he will guide you with the selection of dishes from the menu.<br/>.<br/>For starters we tried out, chicken charcoal tikka kebab, stuffed mushroom kebab, prawns tempura, prawns skewers and chicken burger Totally loved the prawns tempura with a foam based chilly and lime, which gives it a spicy and zesty flavor, one of it's kind. The charcoal chicken is one of their signature dishes made of edible charcoal marination with sesame seed and chaat masala served with chilly mayo. Definitely worth a try. Interms of the burger, there can be room for improvement, as it lacked the flavor and seasoning required.<br/>.<br/>For mains I tried out the curd rice with prawn curry and kori rotti with chicken gravy. Loved the curd rice and prawn curry combination, the presentation was on point and taste is surprisingly delicious, totally recommend this dish. The Kori roti is crispy and crunchy wafers made of rice and goes well in combination with the thick chicken gravy.<br/>

On the occasion of Womens Day celebration I was invited here by The Ripples Gastropub. An evening well spent👍<br/><br/>This place is located in the interior of Calangute right next to a beach. Their main concept is INDIAN FUSION CUISINE . They have their own innovations in many items. Trust me you wont get dissapointed visiting here. They also have private parking area. And reaching isnt that problematic. The things which add beauty to this place is ambience, prompt service and very friendly staff especially their manager Mr. Merkson.<br/><br/>Starting with mocktails..I tried GREEN APPLE (made of slices of green apple,sprite,sugar,ice) and VIRGIN PINK LADY (litchi flavoured) I would definitely recommend these 2 to try it out. They were just perfect. It very rare that you will get a perfect drink. I just fell in love with green apple mocktail.<br/><br/>In appetizers ..i had STUFFED MUSHROOM KEBABS . The stuffing was just perfect. Mushrooms were well cooked and was served with fresh mint chatni.<br/><br/>Also tried CHARCOAL CHICKEN TIKKA KEBABS ..which was marinated with edible activated charcoal powder. Again a thumbs up to these kebabs. By this one is their own innovation which you wont find it elsewhere .<br/><br/>PRAWNS SKEWERS..again its just perfect..prawns were well cooked inside and crunchy with a hint of pickle at the end. It is served with Mayo dip.<br/><br/>Coming to PRAWNS TEMPURA ..this is definitely one of my favorite now..tried it for the first time..prawns were juicy and tender..it is served with lemon and chilly foam..with tempura.<br/><br/>In the main course ...i tried Ripples style chicken burger with sunny style..this is the only item which i found as an average as it was lacking in some tangy saucy flavors which is a must in burgers..and also served with french fries.<br/><br/>The dish which i wasnt expectng to be so so good was PRAWNS CURRY WITH CURD RICE...<br/>The presentation was on point. Highly recommended item over here👍👍<br/>Everything was to the point..curry was perfect. Even the prawns were cooked properly.<br/><br/>KORI ROTI WITH CHICKEN CURRY....is a spicy dish of Tulu Udupi-Mangalorean cuisine, a combination of red-chili based chicken curry and crisp, dry wafers made from boiled rice.Kori means Chicken....a well balanced dish with right amount of spices in it👍<br/><br/>

Prawns Skewers.<br/>The Ripples Gastropub was kind enough to invite me for a meal at their restaurant in honour of Women's Day.<br/>The dishes served were very nice and so were the unique mocktails. The food goes best with the cool and calm ambience. The beach is just a 2 minute walk from the restaurant. One of the best dishes they serve is the prawns curry with curd rice. Charcoal chicken is one of their specialities and is actually marinated in Charcoal. The restaurant has a very friendly staff who interacts very nicely with their guest.

After scanning through all the stalls at food and culture festival, only the menu of Ripples Gastropub was an eye-catcher. We tried Hurrak Mojito - a flavourful and refreshing cocktail. The highlight of the day was scrumptious Dal Chawal Cheese Bombs - dal chawal coated with cheese and deep fried. Chicken popcorn was a little bland but went well with honey chili sauce. We also tried Charcoal chicken which was scarce and lacked flavor.

Wonderful meal that was perfectly served.. We especially enjoyed the tandoor .. a must try!! My daughter had a wonderful time as the beach is next to the restaurant .. the garden sitting arrangemet is very nice..!!

Excellent eating experience.. Meal was served hot and was very yummy!!! At a great price!! Loved the place next to the beach.. The staffs are welcoming.. Chicken Belfast is a must try!!
