Review Pind Balluchi - Calangute

Rajdeep Bhattacharjee
When Indian cravings hit, turn to this popular chain hailing from Punjab located along Aguada - Siolim Road. The food is delicious, and vibes are great for a relaxing lunch. Bring your best mates for a covert foodie adventure! For casual family dinners to friends hangout, Pind Balluchi Restaurant & Bar near Calangute Mall is just the place to be. The tender Gilafi Chicken Seekh impressed in the very first bite for its perfectly balanced flavours and a lovely grainy and tender texture. The masalas in the Gilafi Chicken Seekh has an overwhelming blend at start but seemed the same after a point of time. Next go for the Mutton Seekh Kebab – think minced mutton mixed with cottage cheese, onions, ginger, tomatoes and exotic spices, alongside light and tangy pudina yogurt dip. The juicy, crispy and generously portioned Mutton Seekh Kebabs are highly recommended to all. Don't hesitate to munch on the crunchy and juicy Mushroom Kurkure, which comes with onion relish, harissa yogurt and coriander chutney. The Clay Oven-Fired Dahi De Kebab is another solid choice. The menu features Punjabi-inspired eats and you're here for the super crispy Chicken Drumstick. The crispy and melt in mouth Chicken Drumstick paired with yogurt and coriander chutney is also a winner as well. The delightful Dhaba Meat made with select cuts of goat meat and slow cooked with blend of homemade spices. I recommend for trying the Dhaba Meat, which is mild in palate yet very flavourful featuring soft melt in mouth mutton pieces dipped inside creamy gravy, and served with steamed rice or Indian breads. If you can splurge a little, then go for their Murg Makhani for delightfully smooth and juicy flesh that's worth every penny. Here Murg Makhani cooked traditionally, featuring chicken tandoored to tender, juicy perfection and intensely fragrant tomato and cream gravy made with local spices finished with butter.

It is good to see some typical North indian food in Goa. The taste was as good as any other pind balluchi frenchise. Good 15 table setup. Parking is for 4 cars only. Washroom wss clean. Staff was polite and service was quick. If you are looking to get some real nice north Indian food, it is a for sure visit place.
Rhythm Kaul
One of the best place to get authentic North Indian flavors in Goa. Located near Candolim, the ambience is pretty good. Staff is very warm and will treat you very well. Service is fast. Food tastes yum. Prices are decent and worth it.

I rarely give a 5 star to any place .. but this place blew me away with it's taste. Been here twice .. first was an just to try a new place and the second was forced .. forced by my greed to have good food. Highly recommend to visit this place to tickle your taste buds.

It is a part of the famous Pind Baluchi chain. The food was tasty but not very spicy, my kids loved it. The menu was also typically north Indian with Shorba, chaach, jaljeera and aam panha. Things that you will not find in Goa very easily. They also have a good variety in dals and kababs. I liked the decor with photographs of rural Punjab depicting their traditional way of living. Overall, Great place of you want a good North Indian meal and experience.

If you love North Indian food this the place to be in Calangute area of Goa. Taste is awesome, just a little costly but servers quality non veg n veg food.

This is place is just the place where I had a super Punjabi food. All time favorite Dal Makhni and Paneer Lababdaar. But I forget take pics as we are so hungry. So here is one pic after we are done from out dinner. However, service was really poor as there is only one cook and we have to wait for few extra minutes.

Pind Balluchi is good. Their food quality was good. Sometimes waiting time gets a panic. Rest, food is delicious. Interior is nice. We enjoyed our food. They should work on their price. Rest all is perfect. :)

I was expecting extremely authentic Punjabi food. I was also looking for excellent Ambience as the place looks quite rich from outside. The food was ok, the service also was ordinary. There were a lot of flies inside. Overall I would say it was an ordinary experience.
Ummeayman Rangwala
Nice yummy aunthentic Punjabi Chole ..fish curry..starters were also good.
Smrita Singh Chandra

Tried breakfast here. Although the food is great, i felt the prices are little on the higher side.
Ordered bread omlette, and it was tasty. 2 breads, and i was cooked with omlette with both side and inside, and with little spices. But i felt it was not worth Rs180.
The aloo paratha served with dahi was great.

They are the best punjabi restaurant in Calangute. The food and their service is awesome. I would recommend it to everyone who is visiting from north india. Great work guys.

Pind Balluchi has one of the best Punjabi cuisines in goa. We went there after a long tiring day and reached the restaurant around 6pm, the cleaning process was in progress and we doubted if they will be able to serve lunch but informed us that they serve food from 12pm to 12am without break. One thing which struck me was that they don't serve Chinese like rest of the north Indian restaurants.

We ordered Plain Dal Rice first for our kids which were served with lightning speed and thats were they impressed me the most. For starters we had dahi kebab, Chicken tikka, and lahori murgh. For main course we had, as they suggested Dal balluchi, Murgh Rahra and Dhaba meat. The dahi kebab was just amazing and the chicken pieces were perfectly cooked, soft and juicy. The Dal balluchi by far the best Dal makhani i have ever had and murgh rahra had chicken keema gravy as well as pieces which made the dish quite rich, the dhaba meat was spicy which we loved.

Also they have amazing gulab jamun and thandi kheer. The perfect place to visit with kids, just inform them what customization you want for your kid and they will take care of the rest.

Highly recommended to all
ASHISH SINGH
It was my very first time to visit this place and it turned to be amazing . We ordered Lehsuni Tangri from starters and Murgh Malai chicken and Garlic Naan . The softness of the chicken was perfect, it was perfectly cooked and the naan was crispy .

Perfectly cooked food , amazing ambience and the staff was very polite .

Had an amazing experience!!.

Great place to dine with family n friend. We reached around 12.10 am at mid night. They were about to closed. But the owner was himself prepared the table for us. They we given a very warm welcome to us.

Its a North indian cuisines based restaurant. All dishes are quite good in taste. Specially the tandoor one. Murgh tikka Aachari & paneer malai tikka was just amazing in taste. Murgh tikka was very juicy n soft.

Interior are cozy n very cool. Wooden interior with big artificial trees gives a different looks.

They are using bross Portion bowls for serving.

Hospitality 5/5
Taste 4/5
Interiors 4/5
Value for money 4/5
Service 3/5

Service is slow. You visit any dining outlet in Goa. Service is very slow everywhere in goa.

My recommendation!!

Pind Balluchi is worth visiting💕. The food🍱 here is nice👍 and the ambience is superb👌. The only thing which I didn't liked was the service. They take a lot of time to prepare food🍱 may be because the restaurant is very busy with customers but I suggest you all to at least go half an hour🕕 earlier and enjoy it's ambience.
Anudeep Tubati
The staff was very polite and cordial. However, the food was surely not worth the cost, in terms of quantity and quality. Also, the ambience is good.
Ritu Ankur Gupta
Food was good but sorry to say the service we received was not up to the mark .... We ordered vegetarian food but non veg was served firstly after dat wrong order was served ..... At last after wasting complete hour our food was served.
Gourab
Food was tasty compared to what I had in Indore, price is in par with other restaurants in the area. Ambiance was kind of ok, not a great one but one Should really check it the place.
Sukanya Mahanta
The worst of the worst..1st of all, the service is too POOR..They will serve one table at a time..Doesnt matter even if ur food is ready and it's getting cold in their counter, bt THEY WILL SERVE ONE TABLE AT A TIME..Plus we ordered the food at around 9.15 and the food arrived at around 10.30-10.45.. Every time we wud enquire dem about the food, they would give the same lame ans, 2 mins sir/maam, and this continued for 1 and a half hour..
Now coming to the food, We ordered Murgh Rara, and it was a blend...Literally a BLEND... Along with that we ordered an item of paneer and another item of mix veg...And as usual there was no difference between the 2, only that paneer was added onto d paneer gravy, and rest evrything was same...If i would have to taste the same thing , I would have ordered one of dem..Wouldnt have wasted my money on two items..The naan's , and the roti's that we ordered were cold too (Because as I said earlier they will serve one table at a time)
And to top this all, their price rate is also exceptionally high..(Slow claps)
Overall This was the worst experiance of mine till date...
Sweha Hazari
The food has an unexpected but pleasant twist to several favourite indian dishes. The ambience is okayish and the service is a bit sluggish. It's a great place to dine if you are with your family in Goa. But couples might find it drab.
Shikha Gupta
Inadequate stafff!
Not a good place
Pathetic service
Not fulfilling as per the name
Needs to work really hard
Bad experience all together
Saurabh
The service is dismal. The management needs to do an overhaul and talk to the server to be organised.
There was just one server attending all the tables. There weren't many occupied, still it took him almost 10min to reach our table.

Then after another 10min we were told that soft drink (note that our soft drink didn't come for 10min) we ordered isn't there. The lassi ordered was frozen.

It took almost 20min for the starters to arrive and we made sure to inform the server to get the mains together as well. Everyone around were facing and complaining about the same issue of delays!!

This outlet is giving a bad name to a highly respected chain!!
Vikas Chugh
Well an advise to all who think Pind Baluchi can solve your Delhi Food cravings in Goa, don’t fret and move on to some other place. Pathetic may be a very small word for this outlet. We went there for Lunch, to start with - AC not working, staff has no answer but being so tired decided to have food there only ( why 😡)
Ordered Black Dal, Chicken Tikka Masala ( specifically asked as wanted boneless dish).
Well almost 40 mins later ( even fresh lime soda took 25 mins & couple of complaints), food was served. Guess what, Chicken Tikka Masala with bones, Dal which gone sour ( once we complained, 3 more tables complained the same) were finally served. Rotis took forever ....
Finally bill took almost 10 mins to prepare & imagine they charged us for full Chicken wherein we ordered half only. It got corrected but how can a restaurant go wrong on so many accounts ?
Very very poor food & pathetic service.
Inderjit Singh Shunty
Food is good but service is hopeless .staff not mannered. Because Service to late taste
don't matter just horrible can't visit again.........
i was on this place for lunch and was damm hungry. for a punjabi a punjabi hotel in goa what else he wants. as i was visiting this place 1st time so i ordered MARG RAHRA and plain roti from their recommendation. it was very yummy in taste. the thing which i don’t like is excess oil which you can see in pictures.

Pind Balluchi Came as a Much needed respite for us who were craving for good quality North Indian Food on the beaches of Goa. The Food was Great to the extent that it was soul satiating, or maybe it was just the craving of Rotis which did us in.

Food is Good and so is the service.

I have been to this place in my last three trips to Goa. Good food and courteous staff. Not to miss the lovely ambience based on the authentic countryside theme.
Satyajit Bhattacharjee
Delicious food. Great dal Balluchi, dahi ke kabab, Gobi Paratha and Mutton Saagwala. Best North Indian restaurant in Goa. Inside ambience is soothing and colorful which keeps you wanting to spend more time.

Best place in Goa for North Indian cuisine, very nice interior, polite staff and decent service.
Must try dahi ke kebab, mushroom kurkure, palak paneer, dal tadka.

It’s a very good ambiance. The waiters there are friendly and helpful. The non-veg dish’s were very tasty . I would recommend everyone to go there.
Deva
Very ordinary service and taste, waste of time and money going here, food had no taste whatsoever, air-conditioning also very poor, main course was extremely greasy.
Shobhit Deva
Ordinary food. Bad service. Goa has lot better places to enjoy. Avoid this place, its a waste of time and money. Food looks 1 week old and has no taste.
Jitender Arora
Although, it has established itself as quite a brand name in north India, especially Delhi for good punjabi food. It somehow lacks the constancy when it comes to the Goa outlet. Some of the items are either undercooked or lacked taste.

Murgh malai tikka was little undercooked and Makai was used in access.

Mashroom tandoori was not available and tawa Mashroom was offered in place. Which was somewhat tasteless.

Chicken curry was good and so were rotis.

This still is one of the better points to have decent punjabi food in Goa.. But could definitely do better.

Ambiance is in line with all other outlets.
Jindal Sahab
The best food in the world. Starting from mushroom kurkure to mutton Biryani everything is mouthwatering. Very cooperative staff and good presentation. Ambience was absolutely wow. Must visit in Goa.
Saurabh Sen
Have eaten in pind balluchi in Bangalore and there the food was really good. Here the chicken in malai kebab was hard. Chicken in chicken dum Biriyani was hard. Chicken Biriyani had no taste only lot of spices added to make it spicy. For hyderabad people who are used to Hyderabad dum Biriyani, they will find it very very ordinary Biriyani. Definitely not worth the price.
Safaz Sayed
An average restaurant located in the heart of calangute. Usually visited by the local tourists. Ambience is average with a little good decor outside. Food presentation is basic just like you would be served at home. The only thing that will amuse you is the service speed. Your order will be delivered within a blink of an eye. Place is usually full and getting a table is difficult. Lot of domestic tourists flock in for Indian cuisine. Place would be recommended if you’re in a hurry. More like saying Just eat and leave !!!
Amit K Sharma
Awesome Food. It’s Authentic Punjabi Food available in Goa
Try Fish items, it’s is worth of Money.
Service is also Good
Try Dhaba Meat, it’s awesome
Chaitanya Singh
This place is infested with Bedbugs(khatmal) and ambience is not well maintained. Visit this place at your own risk. Don't fall victim to the Pind Baluchi name.
Jai Khanduja
The starters tasted really bad, main course was average.
But the service was way below average and very slow.
Also, the ambiance was very bad. It was too dark and there were too many mosquitoes.
Saumya Singh
If there was a option for minus stars I would have given them. I not at all authentic pind balluchi. It's hoax. We have ordered 2 dishes of chicken but we're so badly cooked ..we even didn't ate one full piece of chicken there. I will never ever visit there in my life. I used to like Delhi pind balluchi..they got some standards but here they are degrading the brand name. They are serving anything. It's a no go from my side. Don't go for there brand name here!!

Absolutely awesome food...great Dal Balluchi, Dahi ke kabab, Gobhi Parantha....Best North Indian in this area....Did not feel like I was out of Delhi....not very crowded...Excellent Experience...

What an amazing place to hog on Punjabi food. Definitely give a shot for paneer amritsar, butternaan and bunna chicken. The chicken curry is of smokey flavor which will linger on your tongue for long time.

Best place to have punjabi food. Cosy ambience. Food is great. Daal baluchi is a must try which is their speciality. One of the best Daal I had till now. It is cooked overnight and just ments in your mouth. You are gonna love the food at this place.
Tulika Rai
We had ordered daal makhani, kadai paneer and mushroom starter. They delivered fast and the food was very tasty. Hospitality is good. If you like to eat north Indian Punjabi food in Goa, it's worth going to this place. It's very near Calangute beach.
Kanika Saini
No words to explain the taste of the food. Totally orgasmic. Fell in love with Daal Baluchi.
Never had such tasty daal in my entire life.
Other dishes were great too.
Ambience is great too. Gives total Punjab feels.
Ankur Agarwal
keep seeing this place , so had a chance to visit it, was very disappointed with the food. they have a great menu for a Panjabi diner. but the food is not impressive enough!! The chicken served was stale, the dal was bland, the paneer was sour. the only item which I would rate good was the lacha paratha and the other breads. Service is also Ok.. they are also not much concerned on the feedback you give them.
Ankit Misra
Had authentic North Indian Punjabi food in middle of North Goa , with best service standards of our server Mr Chandan. Will recommend to typical punjabi food in Goa.
Akash Ahilya
Nice place for families. I went with family and they just loved it. Food is so good and delicious. Service is fast, servers are polite. Will recommend this to all my friends.
Horrible! Horrible! Bad tasting food. Infact bad is an understatement. The food wasn't cooked properly. Looked stale. On top of that the service is pathetic. They have
no courtesy. Also, crowd was misbehaving in the restaurant. Don't go here at all.
Rakesh Narang
Terrible food.

Had: -

Butter chicken - 1*
Paneer butter masala - 1*
Chilli Garlic Paranthas - 2*
Butter naan - 3.5*

Do not go here. You will be disappointed.

Food lacked the north Indian spices we craved that night.
Sid Sharma
One of the best restaurants in Goa. A must visit if craving for North Indian food. I dined-in for lunch, the place wasn't that crowded. We ordered Dal Balluchi, Kadhai Paneer and Chana accompanied with onion salad, green chutney and pickle. The food was delicious. Served in time and the waiter made sure we didn't run out of chapatis until we were done :)
A good experience overall. Thanks team Pind Balluchi.
Yash Anand
So pathetic food and service by the staff there. We ordered tandoori chicken and got boiled chicken with just colour added to it. One should never ever visit this place. A roadside dhaba serves better food than this restaurant. Really disappointed by a brand like this.
Avani Mudgalkar
Awesome awesome food..guys if you are vegetarian and can't find good food in Goa..then definitely head to this place..we were craving for nice authentic Punjabi food and found this place...they have literally finger licking pindi chole..a must go place if you are a fan of Punjabi food..
Sonal Sharma
Food is delicious, staff is courteous and Punjabi ambience is overall good package. Pind Balluchi is already have an reputation to serve good food and Calangute branch keeps the reputation intact
Megha Verma
expensive food but no taste. I was there last week for family dinner but had huge disappointment. We had ordered dal tadka and palak paneer with breads and rice. Palak Paneer was too watery. Didn't like the food at all.
Shabana Kasem
A great place if you want to try some nice Indian cuisine in Goa . The food is really good and a must try for sure especially the Kebabs and the Tandooris!
Prashant J
Would rate 4 or 5 but giving 2 because extremely slow service just now. Its been 1.5 hours and still order is not completed. I hope you would improve your service so that I can revisit and re review.

P.S. I visited this restraunt during inauguration and service was damm fast. Food is good as usual.

Edit - Increased rating from 2 to 3 (Didn't had option of 3.5) as got complimentary dessert (RssMalai for All) for the wait time.

Visited along with family in last week of Dec'17. Food quality is authentic Punjabi and excellent ambience and approachable staff. Must visit if you are craving for non Goan, non South Indian food in Goa.

The people who are really craving for North Indian food in Goa should visit here.
Everything I had was just mouth watering . I couldn't stop myself as soon as the order came .
We ordered the Lahori murgh in starters which just melted in mouth . The chicken was so soft and filled with spiced and herbs. Then for the main course we had the special dal balluchi for which we really went and mutton rara accompanied with garlic naan and laccha parantha. Finally for desserts we had gulab jamuns and Ras malai . I could only take the pics of the starter and mutton . The food was perfect , ambience was great . Staff was kind and helpful .
Price for two is 2000

Intitally when I went to this place during the time it opened, it had the same taste as it's other chains in India. I was so happy to have found a proper north Indian chain in Goa with the best North Indian food. I couldn't wait to get my friends over to try the amazing food I had over here. But when I went again in sometime in early February 2018, the taste was just pathetic. They didn't have half of the things. No regular water, no onions, no aerated drinks or any other drinks. The waiters were busy watching TV. Food was served cold. Dal makhni seemed like as if I was eating a cold rajma sala. The bill also had duplicate items of what we ordered. Instead of the amount being roughly 2300 we were given a bill of 3000.
Aditya Mankani
Decent place and well made with a clean atmosphere!

How ever if I am in Goa I would not like to come to such a closed restaurant just because of the ambiance.

We had the punjabi and North Indian food here and quiet liked most of the things.

The pindi Chana was a must have and was made very well.
Tandoori was ok
The phudina paratha was good
The kali dal was not that great
The food was decent and one could surely try this place when craving North Indian food.

The Ras malai was not good as it did not seem fresh. Would avoid the desert here.Rohit Chugani

Pind Balluchi Dhaba, a restaurant with a traditional Punjabi touch, located at Aguada-Siolim road, Calangute.

This place boasts of a traditional homely ambiece with a Punjab-Balochistan touch, art, wall hangings, paintings etc with comfortable seating capacity and well trained staffs.

we Panchphoron team of Kolkata went there for a food tasting session and had the following -

1) Mushroom kurkure - Batter fried mushrooms filled with cheese and khoya.

2) Dahi ke kebab- Hung curd mixed with with spices wrapped with a thin layer of bread and fried.

3) Dal Baluchi - Whole black lentil cooked overnight with butter and cream.

4) Dhaniya Murgh curry - Chicken cooked in coriander flavoured gravy.

5) Bhuna Meat- Mutton cooked in traditional Bhuna masala.

6) Mutton Seekh Kebab- Minced mutton mixed with cottage cheese, onion, ginger, tomatoes and exotic spices wrapped over skewers and grilled in charcoal tandoor.

7) Kalmi Kebab- Chicken leg with bone marinated with cashew paste, hung curd and spices grilled in tandoor.

8) Lehsooni Tangri - Grilled chicken flavoured with garlic and chef's special secret spices.

9) Gilafi chicken seekh - Minced chicken mixed with exotic spices coated with onions, capsicum and tomatoes wrapped over skewers and grilled in charcoal tandoor.

Foodie's review- This is certainly one of the best places to have North Indian food in Goa, with a pure touch of Punjab flavour. Though all the dish were cooked well and were delicious but my favourites were Mushroom Kurkure, Dahi ke kebab, Bhuna meat, Lehsooni tangri and Kalmi kebab.

Thanks to the management for their warm reception and hospitality. It’s quite hard for me without giving a pause eating on and on only plates of seafood during my Goa tour. from the day one I tried lots of seafood platters, the best thing was varieties of whole grilled fishes. it’s not like that I don’t like seafood, yes I do like seafood. so for a change during my vacation, I tried lots of local foods of Goa. being a bong fishes are my weak points, any kind of fish preparation either grilled, fried or a curry based I just love to eat. but, from my childhood till my college I was not a big fan of fishes. but, somehow keep on trying to eat fishes I fall in love with the soft, tender and juicy preparation of fish. my suggestion is if you’re in Goa do try Kingfish, Mackerel, Tuna as well as those big lobsters and crabs.

Starters were good but they must improve on there main course. The food lacked punjabi punch . The deserts also need improvement. It’s a good place for Kabobs

So far one of the best place to have north indian food in Goa.
From starters to desserts, everything has a touch of punjab.
Few dishes i would like to recommend are:
Pudina paneer tikka, masala chap, makkhani chap, butter chicken, Khasta roti, and last but not the least gulab jamun.

Pind baluchi is one of my most favorite places to go for food in India. Can come here any time any day! Happy that one is here in Goa, been here a couple of times. Lots of tourists in Goa searching for North Indian food, they can come here!

The ambience was decent but the service wasn’t up to the mark.
We had a mutton dish. It had only three small pieces and none of them were chewable. Chicken dish was also just about ok. When we spoke about these to the staff, they just shook their shoulders.

The most forgettable meal of my 5 days in Goa.

Stale food served health hazard
The mutton was hard and very chewy...the gravy was not cooked well...the deserts were all pathetic ...the kulfi was smelly and stale...the gulab jamun was stale ...

Very tasty Punjabi food and to top it up, the ambiance is great too. Had a really good experience here. Will definitely want to visit this place again. Specially for the daal makhni and pindi chole :)

Defame to the name Punjab

In accordance to the rates should be the taste. The pathetic food just not worth the pay. Its only the ambience of Punjab u get here... food not at all recommended. Paying 413/- for the biryani along the tax in Pind balluchi a local punjabi dhaba wld serve food satisfying the buds but not ths place. The bar menu gave us a “see me no more feeling” 🤣 added was the pathetic food the feeling of “see the restaurant no more”

Finally a great North Indian food restaurant in Goa! Good place to go in Goa... We had dal-Balluchi (which is dal-makhani), dahi-kabab, garlic naan... Simple food with amazing taste... If u r a Punjabi food lover, this is perfect place for u... Happy meals!

We went to this place considering the authentic taste of North India in Goa. Following are the major things which they are lacking in running a restaurant and managing the crowd in Goa:

1. Poor service
2. Poor management staff.
3. No additional staff to take orders.
4. Taste is not the same as we have in other north branches.
5. Orders getting misplaced and exchanged.

In total, it's a mess and quite disappointing experience. Would never suggest anyone to visit here. God bless the management here.

Superb service. While in Goa all places helpers are rude. Here refreshingly it's very warm. Special mention of Rajendra Mishra, Hemraj and Rohit ....superb

Visited to taste the food as they're the north indian cuisine specalist restaurant chain, ordered chicken shorba, gilafi sheek, dhaba meat dal makhani, prawn biryani rasmalai gulab jamun.Starter& soup are the best rest main courses are average, rasmalai is overmilked and not sweet, Taste of Biryani does not carry any authenticity. But Ambience and Restaurant Theme are well designed
