Review The Mermaid Restaurant - Candolim

This is a "must go" restaurant when visiting Goa! Excellent service and tremendously nice food, served by Katarina and her lovely familly. Warm hearted and genuine always welcoming their guests. And, a "fun fact" as a Swede, Katarina comes from Sweden so yet another reason for us to support and visit them. This time we had pre-ordered Lobster Thermidore which was perfectly prepared. Topped up the lovely dinner with an awesome Crème brûlée. If you'd like to have the lobster - pre-book a couple of days to be sure to get it. I doubt you'll be leaving without happy thoughts!

We were there couple of times. Homemade buns for burgers (Beef 🙂) delicious homemade deserts and amazing owner - lady from Sweden. Flexible to make half portion meal for our little one. Don't miss it when in Candolim.

I have dined many times at the Mermaid and have never been disappointed. Katarina and her team make you feel most welcome. Service is excellent and the food is consistently amazing, the highest quality and really tasty. I have never ever had a bad meal in the 15 years I have been coming to Candolim. Miss this restaurant, and all it has to offer, at your peril!

One of the best in north Goa! The owners and the staff is fantastic and we always feels so welcome to this place with so good food and dont forget the desert, wow! I have been here since many many years back and I will return again and again! Thanks from us!

Superb Resturant and Great food and environment. Lovely people nice vibe. We opted for chicken liver pate and then Kingfish steak and king prawns followed by fruit salad and creme brulee. Everything was fresh and nicely cooked. With go again.

The owners are very accomodating hosts, friendly and professional. The staff will also go above and beyond. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Whoever put a review on saying they were not nice are telling lies. Janice Burke.

We had a long wait for food due to an irritatingly loud table of 10 that had walked in.. however we were given sincere apologies from Katarina along with complementary garlic bread (home made, fresh and hot) delish. Here it's quality over quantity and you don't get massive portions plus EVERYTHING is extra... for example I had the chicken steak with mushroom sauce and if I wanted anything with it I had to order it such as boiled vegetables or potato.. it came with 3 runner beans and 2 slices of carrot. However it was very yummy. Perhaps a bigger portion of mashed potato would be nice however I am a greedy guts! Lol. The decor and lovely and the chairs with cushions are pretty and comfortable. The service was absolutely top notch the waiters were fab and Katarina is lovely and really gets involved and says hello and goodbye to everyone .. plus her dog is so cute and is trained to not come into the restaurant so lies down on the mat outside.. adorable. Just returned from a wonderful two weeks in Candolim. We have been going for years and the highlight for meals has always been The Mermaid Restaurant. The food is wonderful and the steaks are the best you will find anywhere. Unlike a lot of restaurants in India the wine is also extremely good. Do yourself a favour and visit Katarina and Banno at The Mermaid.

We've used The Mermaid from it first opening years ago.From then till now never had a bad meal or disappointment of any kind.Always the warmest of greetings when you arrive and genuine thanks from the owner Katarina when leaving.Excellent professional courtesy and service.They make everyone who goes in feel special.

Lovely Restaurant, Lovely people, Lovely Food......... the best fillet steak I've ever had in Goa. Well worth a visit !!!

After reading the reviews we decided to try it out and we are so glad we did. Food is amazing ie steak is beautiful and presentation is also beautiful. Garlic bread mmm delicious � and deserts are fantastic made by their own hands. Will definitely return �
