Review Earthen Oven - Candolim

We landed at Indian Oven just by chance. We had gone out to have dinner and were in a mood to try something new. It was raining that evening and we were getting a bit hungry. I did not had the nerve to locate so called popular restaurant and choose Indian Oven as it was just next to the road. It is located in Candolim towards Fort Aguada. We were well supported by the staff there to park our car. We parked our car practically on the Road! The restaurant is a part of the resort (Acron Seaway Resort). There were few guests who were probably staying with them. The restaurant is not a fine dinning restaurant. Though the dining area is air conditioned. We were told they also have option to sit outside in the open but as that evening it was raining they had removed those tables. We ordered Blue Lagoon and Virgin Mojito for the drinks. For the food we ordered Chicken Pasta in Red Sauce, Awadhi Nihari Boneless Mutton, Lacche Dar paratha and Roti. We really liked the mutton. It was one of the best that I had enjoyed lately. Rest of the food were also delightful. One area that the restaurant can work on is respecting their own menu. Many of the items which were mentioned in the menu was not available. They do not serve Beef or Pork. The staff who was serving us was helpful and prompt. If you found the review useful do give me a thumps up!

The place offer great menu with delicious Indian food. The place has nice and calm atmosphere. With sitting outside and inside neatly kept. Here the staff is ready to help you select and provide you as you like your food to be. Fresh and properly cooked food is severed to you. STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO HAVE VEG. INDIAN FOOD HERE

I have been to Goa several times but I had never heard about Earthen Oven until a friend invited me there for dinner. And boy am I glad. Earthen Oven is one of the best if not the best North Indian restaurant in Goa. It’s in Candolim and is very near to all the major hotels in the area. Earthen Oven has an exterior dining area and we chose to sit outside. We had ordered both veg and non-veg and the food here was delicious and the portion size was also adequate. Coming to the staff, the staff was good and well mannered. They were cordial, polite and respectful. I was in a group and we all had a good time. Everyone loved the place and the ambience and the food and I’m definitely coming back here on my next trip to Goa.

You can also see chefs working through the kitchen window. They claim that they are the highest rated North-Indian restaurant in Goa. After my first visit, I couldn't stop myself from visiting again. During my first visit, my order was for a Tandoori Subz Platter, Water Melon juice, and Kulfi Falooda Ice-Cream. The platter was an assortment of vegetarian kebabs served along with mint chutney, and some salad. It was delicious, and that was all I had for my meal because it filled me up. The fresh Watermelon juice was a delight with each sip. The ice-cream taste good as well. On another visit, my order was for a Subz Dum Biryani, some Rotis, and Yellow Dal Tadka. The aroma of the Biryani was very appetizing. The vegetables were in their best texture. I enjoyed every spoon of it along with the raita. The Rotis tasted good along with the Dal Tadka. Their service was very fast during my visits. Their staff was courteous with all my requests and had a great attitude while attending my table. I felt that the pricing of the dishes on their menu is slightly expensive. But, the quality of the food makes up to the cost. After tasting their dishes, I would agree to their claim about being Goa's highest-rated North-Indian restaurant. I would return in the future and try other dishes on their menu. Do visit this restaurant if you're looking for some delicious North-Indian food in North Goa.

To start with, Earthern oven restaurant has a reputation of their own. It's a place which serves north indian cuisines. They have buffet of their own. The dishes served were awesome. The taste was on point with perfect spiciness and perfect blend of spices. The officials and the servers were too friendly. The place is too clean and best for family dining. We can have food in air conditioned room as well as have food enjoying the climate of Goa. As a visitor in goa, I enjoyed my experience there. Well, The ambience will blow your mind. The food here at the buffet is mouth watering. Chef Pankaj has done a really great job by cooking such a delicious meal. Its awesome. I just loved the breakfast at there. There is lots of items at there for breakfast. We have North Indian cuisines, south Indian cuisine, british cuisines at there. We have varieties of beverages for breakfast. My favourite was the "sunny side up" omelette and the coffee. ❤️

Exellent staff ,best food ,super fast service and over the top they take very good care of your emotions. I visited this restaurant again this year from 26th may 2019 to 2nd of june 2019. Must go to eat with family in candolium.Must try boneless butter chicken.I will recomand Ajvyni paneer plain ,its very yummy my wife and kids just loved it.

Had dined here as part of my stay in Acron Seawat resort. Breakfast buffet spread was decent enough however improvement needed in dosa and bakery items. Lunch menu was good and tandoor cauliflower was good option other than paneer. Courteous staff but for two days i saw lean staffing so when more tables gets occupied the orders were little delayed. Deepak was a wonderfull staff taking care of live counter orders when we dined for breakfast. Ambience was warm and little vintage look with modern artifacts also.seen. This is one of the highly rated restaurant in other food and travel blogs. Bar was decently stocked but no over the bar counter seating arrangement. Outside dining area is close to road could be noisier if there is congestion. Clean washrooms and parking is on the main road at your risk.

The food was delicious. The Methi Paneer, mushrooms etc were exactly what we were hoping for in north indian taste. Even prepared special starters on order. Very courteous. There was a live music performance (Rajasthani) which was keeping the mood lively. The overall bill was a bit of a surprise since we saw 22%vat added to the bill. but...can be overlooked

We ordered around 7 dishes and a few naan. Everything was pretty average to be honest but we had a big day so we were enjoying the food (not the taste) . I asked the waiting staff to get me some more naan bread and We were told that tandoor is closed ! WTF! They didn’t even tell us if they taking the last order otherwise we would have ordered all together. They wasted around 30 min on top explaining why they can’t turn on the tandoor. I told them that i wont pay a penny if i don’t get extra naan to which they got afraid and at last gave us 5 naans. By the time curries were cold. Had a terrible experience and never going there again.

I have been to this restaurant for breakfast as well as dinner. Fine place at candolim. Food and service are up to the mark only they charge 18% gst( which is equal to 5 star hotel rate.) , currently 5% gst is applicable on restaurant in India. Over priced menu. Ambience is quiet good. I would hope for the moderate rates on regular north and south Indian food.

Service was good.we started with tomato soup which was good ..in starter we ordered ajwani paneer tikka which was very flavorful..in main course we ordered paneer khurchan and mirch Ka salan..the only disappointment was mirch Ka salan it was too tangy and it was not an authentic salan preparation.. overall the food was good with variety of vegetarian options.

It was my first visit to the restaurant and I was blown away with hospitality. Everyone wished good evening. It's located on the main road and easily locatable. It has two dining areas- with AC and non AC. Non AC area had glittery decor. Few Rajasthani folk dancers were performing too. Now coming g to the food, well the menu is simple and includes both veg and non veg items. Fast service, professional staff, open tandoori kitchen add points. Visited this place earlier 2 years back and honestly food was awesome and had same expectation this time too. Ordered the very own Dal makhani and butter Naan. It was not the same this time. Came to know later that the chef which they had left.<br/><br/>:-(

During my stay at fortune acron Candolim , I opted this restaurant for dinner with my wife. Ambience of restaurant and hospitality by staff was great but what disappointed me was the food. Me and my wife opted for buffet here and the food was not at all upto the mark. Only think in buffet was good was their rice kheer but other than that no food placed was good and the biggest disappointment was zafrani chicken biryani as it was just biryani with lots of spices without any fragrance and taste. I will not recommend this restaurant for buffet menu at all.

Amazing gesture from staff. Delicious food and warm hospitality. There are so many restaurants in this area But only few give this positive vibes. Food quality very good I tried only vegetarian so another viewers may or may not much agree with views. Ambience is 10 out of 10. A very serene and well maintained place. Lastly hospitality is personally attended and taking feedback about the food is well intentional. I really like to come back and try their buffet sometime soon.

Too much expensive. For eg. Raan for Rs1690 + taxes worth not more than 800. What rates mentioned on zomato menu and what they presented was like 50% extra. Our bill shud be Rs 2200 aprx and came out Rs 3340.<br/>Fooling around on pretext of home delivery

I went there for dinner after reading good reviews on zomato. The rating given on zomato is no where near to the actual food quality. It shouldnot be more than 3 as food over there is quite ordinary. Tasteless and poor presentation.

As i was bored of eating goan cuisine too much, was looking for some north indian food to eat. Then i found earthen oven, which was one of the restaurant only serving north indian dishes.<br/>I orderd chichek seekh kebab ( juicy and full of flavours) , chicken tikka masala ( taste was not as good as i have eaten in delhi :p ) and butter naans ( which was butter tandoori roti)<br/>Service was good plus the food is also satisfactorily good.

This place was barely a 5 minute walk from the place we were staying at. One of the best place for really scrumptious North Indian cuisines in Goa.<br/><br/>Ambience: Very chic yet Indian. It has inside and outside seating.<br/><br/>Food: Very delicious. We went for Paneer Kurchan and stuffed Kulchas. Must haves.<br/><br/>Staff: Some associates serving the guests seemed very new with a little lack of knowledge. However each and everyone was extremely helpful and cheerful.

Great place to try some authentic north Indian food. The ambience is really nice with a Rajasthani touch. USP of this place is their different varieties of thali. Well Zomato says that I need to be polite while giving my reviews but honestly I can’t. Worst food I ever had in my life. People who have given 4 stars should really think again and revisit their reviews.. Somebody like me would have saved his hard earned money. I seriously pity the chef or rather cook in this place. We order virgin mojito and couple of other drinks. They were ok types. Main course was - Awadhi Nahari, Yellow Dal, Breads and Paneer Khurchan. Everything was Yuck! No taste at all.. Paneer Khurchan was probably mixed with all the leftover spices if the day and was hard as rock! L I had such a nightmarish dinner. Please let us be honest in our review so that people’s hard earned money can be put to some better work than spending here.

Excellent taste and by far the best North Indian restaurant in Goa ! The staff knows hot handle the customers and ambience was very nice. They really focused on taste and the price range is very effective compared to quality they provide.

Earthen Oven is situated in just right location on the main road from Fort Aguda to Candolim .<br/>It has ample private parking space .<br/>The restaurant has indoor and outdoor siting both .<br/>The ambience is just perfect for an Indian restaurant in Goa .<br/>The food 🥘 is the best North Indian taste bud that can be fulfilled in Goa .<br/>Coming to the specifics in my 5 day trip , I had 7 meals at the restaurant and everything I had there made me come back the next time .<br/>The dinners have an extra entertainment quotient as they have a live Rajasthani singer and dancer which will make you feel happy .<br/><br/>

Really bad food. Havent had worse Dal Makhni ever. Mint Cooler was way too sweet. There are many good places on this road, Would suggest to try something else.

Very Disappointing — drove all the way from Arapora basis Zomato ratings.. food was below par.. the paneer was very chewy.. appeared stale.. chicken Khurchan was also extremely dry.. butter chicken was just ok hence the extra .5 points..finally they offered comp dessert which was good

Doing a complete justice t the name of the brand, Earthen Oven serves North Indian cuisine is the most authentic way possible. We had Rara Mutton, with a select of assorted Indian breads. The Dish was perfectly slow cooked and the flesh was so well cooked and so full of flavors. The Paneer butter masala we ordered was also lip smacking. All the breads were warm and fresh.<br/>The desserts, were all also very much fresh and perfectly sweet. <br/>It took us a lot of restaurant brawls t decide who would get the last bite.<br/>Staff of the restaurant were good and did their jobs monotonously perfect.<br/>The cherry to the top was the Live Rajasthani music during the dinner service.<br/>If your tummy craves for those flaky indian breads and some rich thick spicy and homely gravies then do pay this place a visit.

Good food, very poor service. Bad management, they go bonkers with full tables... We waited for 30 minutes as proposed by them only to find they're giving tables to other people who are just entering. No management at all for people waiting for the tables. Not worth going again..

Restaurant by Fortune hotels, this is a very sit down place. Ordered a veg tandoori platter, found it to be very average. Loved their Fenni mojito, a must try at the restaurant. Service is slow and could be better.

Went to Goa with Family, was feeling very hungry and being a North Indian Delhiite, badly needs the North Indian Cuisine, somebody suggested this restaurant "Earthen Oven" were having a good Indian buffet and also its near our hotel in Candolim North Goa, we freezed this place. Place was crowdy, waiting was going on after 20 mins, we get the tables, staff was courteous and was wearing a smile on their faces which was welcoming. They are having both the options Alcarte as well as Buffet, we opt for Buffet. Buffet was not that elaborated which we usually get in Delhi, having the options of only two starters Hara Bhara Kabab and Fish Fingers, both of them was Okay ish, had chicken biryani, salads, Dal Amritsari, Paneer Dish. Service was good. Overall a happy place, don't expect too much if you are a pure North Indian.

Food is good... If in Goa, one can try this for North Indian food. Initially thought of trying buffet dinner but didn't find it appealing so went for ala-carte. Dal makhnai was superb. Service was good. One thing to notice the attendant was not welcoming so thats something didn't go well as we were one of the first guests in the restaurant.

My attention was captured by the Rajasthani live performance and I thought of giving this restaurant a try. We ordered pomfret and prawns curry with white rice as the staff suggested. Prawns were really tasty.

While holidaying in goa we were looking to try north indian cusinse for a change and this place happened to be close to our hotel.<br/>The ambience is good and the restaurant is easily visible from the main road.<br/>We tried the mint cooler which was refreshing. The paneer tikka masala was not upto the mark and the breads we ordered were to hard and chewy. Theu claim to be the best restaurant to offer north indian meal but its hard to believe this.<br/>Hopefully the other items on the menu are better.

I became a big time fan of this restaurant especially Dal makhani. Our whole group enjoyed the dinner along with the desert. Awesome in taste and services.

I had a quick lunch here before taking my flight to Delhi. It is a nice, cosy place serving tasty food. I tried mint cooler which was refreshing and I also tried chicken biryani which was also nice. Good food, good service.

After having all sorts of cuisines for 3 days, it was a nice break to eat North Indian at Earthen Oven.<br/><br/>It is Conveniently located and offers decent North Indian in fact one of the best in Goa that I have had. <br/><br/>Has indoor and outdoor sitting options, we chose indoors because of the afternoon heat. The place was very much empty during lunch hours so we got undivided attention of the serving staff.<br/><br/>The only and major drawback of this place is that it does not have the Goa vibes, eating here won't make you feel like you are in Goa, its made like any restaurant in northern part of the country. At the entrance of this restaurant, they have mentioned it to be the No. 1 north Indian restaurant of Goa and having eaten their twice I can definitely say that it's TRUE!!!. Superb North Indian cuisine topped with brilliant seating arrangement both indoor and outdoor, super courteous staff and great decor and ambience sums up this restaurant at Candolim Beach road. <br/><br/>Ordered Paneer Khurchan, Dal Makhani for the main course. Paneer Khurchan is worth a mentioned. It was super delicious and I ordered it again when the second time I went there. <br/><br/><br/>For starters we ordered the veg kebabs and it was good to taste too. The service is super quick. If in Goa and wanna have a north Indian cuisine, this is a must go place, Hands down.

We were really tired of having continental food on our last trip to Goa and were seriously craving for some real North Indian food and that took us to Earthen oven.<br/><br/>This place has real warm ambiance, the right mix of ehnic and western decor, the staff makes sure you are truly comfortable, there is also live music in the evenings. <br/><br/>Coming to the food, it was authentic North Indian with just the right blend of everything, we ordered Tandoori sabz bagh, Tandoori roti, Paneer khurchan and Veg biryani. Our plan initially was to keep it light however the food was so good that we ended up over eating 😋. <br/>What I really liked about the place besides the food was the service and behaviour of the staff. Would surely visit again on my next trip.

Pretty okay taste. Nothing special really. Their buffet is very limited on dishes offered. Even lesser for a vegetarian. The roti topped with cheese and tomato ketchup was disaster on taste buds.

Me and my wife looking for a family restaurant around candolim beach and we saw earthen oven with light dim lightening and live folk music. We decide to go there and have dinner. We ordered dal makhni, veg.biryani with cheese balls, vegetable raita and at last shahi pakodi(dessert). All were really very awesome, delicious and mouth watering. Dal makhni was little spicy with full of flavours. Quantity of veg.biryani was enough for two. And about shahi pakodi-delicious. Love to have it again and again. Staff was very good and very energetic. I highly recommend this place. And I love this place. Should visited restaurant in candolim, Goa.

We visited the place for lunch and it wasn't much occupied.A lazy waiter told us that it will take 20 mts for the food to come in as it is prepared fresh..We wondered how they work when it is fully occupied!!The paneer tikka was average and the chef goofed up with the butter chicken sending us the boneless variety.The waiter meanwhile wasn't clearing the clutter and not serving us the mandatory onions pickle and chutney which is north indian fare..The tandoori Roti's were taking their own sweet time to come and by the end of it we wanted to go and the waiter too wanted us to go..Altogether not a pleasant experience.Here is my advise....<br/>while in goa stick to local cuisine..<br/>

Recently visited Goa and happen to visit the restaurant.. considering it was "north Indian" went by trusting the name! However was disappointed overall. The food is okay, ordered RARA Gosht and all we got was 3 bones and one mutton piece. Not sure why would anyone like that! The restaurant's service was bad!! Not attentive and waiters were least bothered about your needs or timings of food. Hadn't finished the starters and main course was on table, when asked for some Ice in juice as it was "hot" juice, the looks shared by the waiter were sad enough to spoil the mood. Overall think twice before going here.

Food is not good very bad service price is very high don't waste your time having food hear it's not hygiene I order sea food & found fly in it. I inform the restaurant person. But no action taken

Horrible tasteless overpriced food. I ordered a mutton nihari, dal makhani and a firnee... I got dal makhani, tasteless nihaari and some yellow goop called firnee. The only good thing about this order was the dal, onions and lemon. Wish I could get my money back. Ordering from this supposed North Indian restaurant in Goa is like ordering Chinese food in an udupi restaurant (which sometimes is better than what I ate here)

Went here with Family for lunch. They have limited indoor seating which is air conditioned. To avoid waiting we opted for outside seating. Service was decent. I found it heavy on pocket and preparation portions were not great. I guess this is how far you could get with North Indian food in Goa.

Overrated. Food is just OK but service is really lax. Unclean dishes are not cleaned even with all servers passing the table, no eye contact with servers and just generally poor.

It's a good place ambience wise ..there is live rajasthani dance and music to keep you entertained.food quality is also good..but they have very less options in veg section.

This place is mainly for North Indian food. They had recently started buffet dinner. There was a live music and dance which was lively. Food quality was good(cannot say excellent though). Service was also good. They need to improve on the selection of food in buffet.

One of very few places that I know off who serves good Indian food for a change, had live dance and music performance to keep the guests involved and entertained and good food which is reasonably charged for. A must visit for all food lovers, good ambience , good service and value for money tasty food.

A good place to have north Indian food. We were really hungry when we reached here and the Dal makhani was a total winner. The naans were good. Paneer Khurchan was mildly spiced. They had live Rajasthani music and all which was good. We ended with some jeera rice which went well with the Dal Makhani. Overall a good place to have vegetarian food...in case you are looking for one in Candolim.

Well this restaurant comes as a surprise package for people looking for north indian food. Food is awesome and the staff is warm. Atmosphere is too cool and the rajasthani folk music is truely entertaining if you are sitting in outside area. Aatish-e-aloo and dal makhni are too good. We visited twice this restaurant in 3 day trip and the taste buds got extremely satisfied . Must try 🤘

Amazing authentic Indian food. Their chef Pankaj made yellow dal tadka on request and it was brilliant! If you are looking for light on tummy, good Indian food, definitely try this place.

We visited this place to celebrate my husband's birthday. The ambience was great ! We chose to sit outside where some folk dance was happening. The staff was nice. He suggested some good dishes. Do try the tomato shodha, by far the best dish we have tasted in goa. The chef comes to your table to personally ask your opinion. Food was finger licking good. They also gave us a dessert on the house when they got to know about the birthday. Overall it was a great experience.

As one raised and reassured by exorbitant rates of alcohol, I was very pleasantly surprised to observe that this ITC property was offering their entire bar at throwaway prices! The Ra Ra Gosht was tender, however I wish it were tastier. The lentils were the usual fare. Their breads were, to be honest, better than their sauces. Service is slow, but sweet. The green salad arrived at the end of our meal! The drinks were prompt and so was the rest of the food. The indoor ambience is sedate and comfortable. The outdoor area seemed to be the more livelier part of the restaurant. <br/><br/>Overall, since the food won the approval of a Delhi-foodie, it is only fair that they should be commended heartily for serving near authentic north Indian cuisine in a far-off locale such as Goa. This restaurant never disappoints us. It's neat and clean, food is tasty. We ate their home style chicken curry (it's not on the menu.. but they will make it on request). It was the best home style chicken curry we have had in any restaurant!

Awesome...its been run by fortune hotels group...had veg lunch at 5.30pm and the whole place was empty but still they gave such a experience...without any fuss...
