Review The Mango Grove - Candolim

Shaun E
As a simple breakfast goes and a little reminder of home 🇬🇧 my Heinz baked beans on toast with two poached eggs was lovely. The server also asked if I wanted the toast, beans and eggs served in a particular way which was a nice touch. The Twinings cuppa and fresh OJ complemented my breakfast nicely. A good spot for people watching Mango Grove is clean, organised and tidy with friendly staff and I’ll definitely be returning.

Had a lovely experience here. The ambience, the feel of this place, the servers, service and food all are really great! Had breakfast. Fish curry and rice is to die for. The food service was very quick. Biggest plus is that the washroom is very clean!

One of the best in your quality and price in the area. The drinks are well served and done well. Highly recommended . Just the issue of parking as always in the entire stretch of that location.

Located in the busy market. Happy with the service and food that we ordered. Staff was helpful and friendly

What an ambience!!! Situated by the road side with great food, excellent service with faces full of happiness. Very welcoming environment inside with nice interiors. Prawn fried rice with fish rawa fry are a must try. Will visit again.

Mango Grove is a lovely bar and restaurant in the heart of Candolim. This place has a nice ambience with decent sitting arrangement. Food served here is hot n fresh. They serve right from Sizzlers, pastas, Indian, Goan to Tandoori and Asian. We had Veg Manchow soup that was simply flavorful and amazing. Later we had Mushroom in butter garlic that was very good and served with hot french fries. Also we had medium spicy Paneer tikka that was again very good. This was all coupled with hot tandoori chicken that was really awesome. Their Tandoor items are a must try. The best part about this restaurant is the dessert section named The Rolling Pin. We had hot Bibinka, Seradora, cinnamon donut and hot Cappachino. Overall the experience was amazing and the staff and their service was very prompt. Please visit this place whenever ur in North Goa.

Amazing place!! Visited it for breakfast and it was just fantastic. Cute roadside in with pretty interiors and soft music playing. Definitely recommend 10/10. You should go for their breakfast menu if you are closeby.

Neatly maintained, good Ambience. The food service is really slow so order well in advance. Good food. Reasonable prices. Good service by the friendly staff. Stopped here for breakfast and everyone liked all the dishes we ordered. Try the white sauce chicken pasta. Its one of the good ones i have had in recent times.

Food was good in-taste and as well as in quantity.. although food was quite expensive but at the same time it is very common that prices are very high in Goa… comfortable sitting arrangement… peaceful and soothing dining area…

Such a wonderful place and staffs. Really appreciate their efforts in making such good food. Fish ambotik with rice is a must try dish here. Such good flavour and taste that i dont think i will find it anywere else. Prices are also reasonable. Peaceful ambience to enjoy your drink and food. Two wheeler parking available near the restaurant. Four wheeler parking to be managed nearby.

Great unpretentious food. The Goan sausages were incredible and very decent quantity compared to other restaurants. The prawn curry and rice were. Vgood. The naans crisp, fresh and really nice. Service was prompt and reasonable priced food.

Loved the atmosphere and food. Try this place out if you are not looking for very loud music and wanna enjoy your own space, pace and lovely time with your loved one. The service is good but the time taken to serve the food is lil long. Hence, recommend you to order fast and remind the waiter again. I'll highly recommend Pork chops and Pork blood sausages along with Fish and chips.

Best place to visit in candolim for feeding your hunger! We had Prawns biryani along with pineapple juice & long Island Ice Tea, we must say that the taste was amazing. The briyani was assorted with authentic mixture of spices, it would become more tastier if baby prawns were used. Chicken cheese balls were nicely grounded into the paste and not the mc cain scam honestly!

Pathetic experience ... they are rude !!! and Try Fisherman Cove Just opposite ..
Prasun Jha
Food taste is poor, not ready to take feedback, very unprofessional, bad attitude and behavior is also bad. Go to Fisherman's cove, next to this.

In a restaurant, it's not always about food but also the service. Found this place less packed but absolutely brilliant. The waiters recommend food while dishing out jokes. We mostly snacked on starters and found everything very pleasing.. the price was quite reasonable. The only thing I had an issue with was the Greek salad as it was doused in olive oil. Carry a pack of cards and you'll have an enjoyable evening

Excellent fish served here... just loved it...<br/><br/>desserts that we ordered were delicious...<br/><br/>worth trying...<br/><br/>the décor and ambiance is great… staff is courteous and attentive...

A quaint little restaurant situated right on the side of the road. We had breakfast here and found the food to be decent. Cold coffee tasted heavenly and a big, big thumbs up for the ambiance! You will not regret visiting The Mango Grove!

Happen to be just by main road to Candolim beach below huge Mango tree. Mainly filled by foreigners (old ones) who prefer to sit & chill over a pint of beer.<br/>Food here is good.<br/>We tasted Goan curry which was yummy. Good taste and great mix of goan spices & coconut.<br/>The all mix sea food Pasta was also great.<br/><br/>Overall:<br/><br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Service: 3/5<br/>Ambience: 4/5 <br/>Price: 3.5/5

Was surfing on internet to go out and have a nice dining experience and this place came along. This place has stunning and delicious food(non veg) and at such low cost. And good ambience.<br/><br/>Service(5) - The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The Waiter patiently waited till we enquired a bunch of dishes and also suggested some options form his side and helped us place a perfect order. And all the food(non veg) came out good.<br/><br/>Ambience (4) - The ambience was all good. It was Christmas time so all the Christmas feels and the weather just added the magic in the air.<br/><br/>Food(3.5) - we ordered a bunch of dishes, mushroom starter, bombay potato and a veg sizzler from the veg section. The veg dishes were not that good, averagish and not very tasteful. Pork chops, and a baby king fish in spicy goan masala from non veg section. They were just amazing. Well seasoned and glazing was also good. The pork could have been cooked a little better. But the look was stunning and taste was just wow.<br/><br/>All in all a must visit place if looking for good meat at cheaper cost !!

I visited this restaurant for dinner on my short visit to Goa in Dec 2018. The restaurant has majorly tourist from abroad as customers. The menu is not updated with the latest prices so be prepared for the increased prices and 5% tax on the bill.<br/><br/>Partnered with my fiancee, we decided to try out this restaurant. We ordered:<br/><br/>Prawn cocktail: Served in a glass with major portion of lettuce, half tomato, black olives, topped with 5-6 medium sized prawns and pinkish mayonise based sauce. Ain't the best option to go for, coz only a few would opt to finish the lettuce within.<br/><br/>Mixed seafood sizzler: Must try.<br/>They serve the sizzler as usual on a hot plate covered with cabbage leaves. It comes with a portion of rice (for one), few french fries, few peices of squids, 2 prawns, a few chunks of fish. The base sauce went well with the ingredients above.<br/><br/>Cream caramel: Someway similar to the caramel custard you get elsewhere. The taste was right and presented well.<br/><br/>Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/>Live Music, Decent crowd, comfortable seating.<br/><br/>Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/>Ready to assist and proactive<br/><br/>Presentation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/><br/>Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/>Fresh, Delicious, Appetizing<br/><br/>Quantity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/>Portion for one.<br/><br/>Value for money:⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/>Might pinch the pocket for Indian tourists. A decent meal will cost you 1200-1600 for 2.<br/><br/>

Awesome hidden gem in Candolim...<br/><br/>Great food and extremely reasonably priced. Facilities are hygienic and location is as good as it gets.<br/><br/>Price and quantity is honest.<br/><br/>Are 3 meals in a 4 day trip 😄😄😄

Place is in heart of candolim. Opposite fisherman’s cove. Place is highly recommended for tasteful Goan cuisine with curry and rice. Prices on menu here are reasonable and inclusive of taxes. So you need not worry of some charges. Service is quick and staff are courteous. <br/>Had shark curry with rice and prawn fry. It’s was good and delightful. <br/>Ambiance is average as the name itself but nothing to complain about it. Good taste requires cooking ideas. All the best.

It was a very sad experience. We ordered chilly prawn(goan special) and kalmi kabab. They gave me hariyali kabab and were so confident about it when I asked about it. We had to eat it. The food was mediocre with no much attention to the flavours. Ambience was good with live music.

A must have - Calamari masala fry and prawns yellow curry...and the boy who sings is amazing as well....I came after a long tired day and it was perfect.... great service , well spoken and professional servers...love the drawings on the walls

Not at all worth trying, tea was horrible at exorbitant price and breakfast below average.we enquired for the tea listed at RS 90 which included serving separate milk and water and told them to put them together while preparing but to our surprise this two cups of horrible tea costed us RS 160 .Moreover on inquiring to the same staff he showed no concern at all which was indeed a rude behavior.will.definitely not visit again!<br/>

We tried this place for dinner. Easily accessible and located close to bus stops.<br/>The ambience is decent and service is good with friendly and quick service by the staff.<br/>We tried Chicken Spring Roll as starters along with some beers. <br/>For main course, we had Beef Chilly Fry, Chicken Biriyani and Pasta Carbonara. The serving portion was good for one self as well for others to have a share for tasting. The price is also economical.<br/>They don't have any live music, however, there are various neighboring outlets having loud/live music and you can still have a good experience.<br/>Worth a visit.<br/>Overall Rating: 3.5/5 (Zomato has removed the .5 scale and hence marking 4 stars)

A good place to hangout with friends and chill, food was good We had ordered pasta ,good in quantity enough for two people, service was good..

Really disappointing experience. <br/><br/>Service was pathetic. I asked for dal rice mixed together and the waiter flatly refused. He told us "do it urself".<br/><br/>We also ordered fried prawns. They were tasteless and bland.<br/><br/>Will never visit this place again. There are better places around.

Loved the food here.. worth the wait, and it wasn't too pricey but quite satisfying..... Would come here for some quality food and time......

We tried North Indian vegetarian food and it was delicious. Do try the garlic naan, aalu parantha, lachha parantha (awesome😍) and you would not regret. Ambience is beautiful along with friendly staff. Good music. Cost wise this place is economical and you would surely leave the place with a smile on your face.

Non- cooperative staff.. they add color to the food and refuse to provide normal food that is free from added color. Very disappointing dinner experience..

Looks simple. Awesome food and got quite a good number of choices. Good customer Service and economical. Space is less but they manage well. Love to visit again.

Had breakfast over there. The food was good. Good service and ambience as well. Sandwiches disappointed me but burger and omlette were tasty.

Really bad customer service, we waited for one hour for the waiter to come to take the order. Then there was this lady (owner) who would scream and shout at other customers and act drunk. Food was okayish but ambience is not good.
Darshil Shastri
It's a good restaurant, but I was not happy with the service! The order took a lot of time to deliver! The taste was good but the rotis were not made properly!
Hippokathy88
The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and in a nice location. Food however tasted like it was catered more for Western tourists. Pork sorpotel especially was the worst pork sorpotel we've ever had. Chicken biryani wasn't that great either. Pricing was expensive compared to a lot of other restaurants around the area. Won't be coming back.
Patrsatya
Such a bad place ever seen in Goa. The owner is so rude. He does not know how to behave properly to customers and specially to kids. Never ever go to this place. Very very wrong place in goa. Pass this message to everyone to teach him a lesson.
Namrata Hilton Achowe
Very cute and cosy bar by the sidewalk. Friendly staff and good bartenders. Chill low-key cultural components in the ambience. A lot better when compared to most of the bars on this stretch.
Sanaaz R Doust
In spite of visiting late for lunch they kindly obliged and agreed to serve us lunch. The ambience is nice and relaxed and their food is really good. The tandoori chicken, the fish curry and rice and their fish fry was superb! Highly recommend this place if your around this area

A perfect place for all occasion. Have visitited this place many times wether it's breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a quick drink. This place would never disappoint you. They serve from English breakfast to goan curry and ends with Indian tandoor items. Have almost tried there entire menu however the zyst stills remains to try it again. The service is great, they also have live bands performance. But the sad news when I was there last week you were closed and under renovation and will open only by September.. so please update so that one can plan accordingly. My this review is based on my previous visit which I made last month..

The place is OK. Drinks are nice. Recommended ones is Hershey's Milk Shake. The food is not so good especially the sandwiches. Could go to some better place than this one if you have some option. Needless to say service is slow like other restaurants of goa.

Oh what food! That's the first thing that comes to mind when i reminisce of the time spent here. A must for all sea food lovers. Even the goan food I tasted here was great. As for ambience, it's located at candolim overseeing the main road. No questions asked!

The Mango Grove is a very small but cosy restaurant located on the road going towards Candolim beach. I visited this place with my wife in Jan 2015 and had Kings beer (which was served super chilled) and had Chilli Fried Rice and Chilli Chicken. It was such a wonderful meal that we had after a long and exhausting day trip to various beaches. Extremely good value for money with awesome food. Nice place to visit !!
Traptika Chauhan
We happened to come here as Fisherman's was totally packed and had a waiting of 30 minutes. Initially we were sceptical but eventually we were glad that we came to this place.<br/><br/>The food and service both were very good. We had drinks and dinner of rice , fish curries and dal tadka - all of which was good.<br/><br/>There was live music as well which played till late in the night and we enjoyed our time here
Karthik Mahalingam
Walked in at 5pm for a meal. Rating at 3 didn't seem promising but several people were drinking and eating. Excellent food - they rate their Goan cuisine high and quite traditional, but their North Indian was pretty good too - though they closed the tandoor midway through our meal, without informing us!! Service could be improved and easy for them to move up the rankings. Nice ambience, under the shade of a large mango tree.
Santwana Panda
We went to this place Coz we were hungry and Fisherman's cove was closed. As a second choice, we came here and were disappointed. Service times are very long and food was just ok, neither good nor bad. Overall nothing really great about the place.<br/>Tried the Goan Fish and Prawn curry..
Ronita Syam
I had ordered prawn curry and rice and to be honest after a tiring travel, that hot plate of food came as a blessing. The prawn curry made with coconut milk and curry leaves tasted pretty good. Although the service could have been a little better.
Amit Relan
Pathetic place with pathetic staff... Beyond that food wouldn't matter. Take my advice please help this place shut down else goa tourism is sure to get a bad name
CombatCritic
We stopped here because the place had a nice covered patio and was relatively busy, usually a good sign. The man who "greeted" us, and I use that term loosely, grunted out what should have been a "welcome" and we were pointed, not escorted, to a table in the corner. The menu is large and diverse and being our first time here on the first day of a week long stay, they had the opportunity to earn our repeat business. As George Bush would say: "Not going to happen ... wouldn't be prudent."<br/><br/>I asked a couple very simple questions like "what kind of bread does this sandwich come on", but the server seemed quite annoyed, looking at me like he despises tourists and our ridiculous inquiries. We were not extremely hungry, so we ordered a couple of sandwiches, me a steak sandwich (200 rupees/$3.20) on a baguette, my wife a simple cheese sandwich, also on a baguette (150 rupees/$2.45), a Kingfisher beer (100 rupees/$1.60), and a mineral water (30 rupees/50 cents). He returned about 10 minutes later to tell us that there were no baguettes (at 1pm) and that we could have our sandwiches on local (pita) bread. Looking forward to a sandwich on some decent bread for the first time after more than two months in India, I was disappointed but we decided to stick around having already received our drinks.<br/><br/>My sandwiches (there were two because the bread was so thin and small) barely had any meat on them, a little lettuce, some grilled onions, a couple of thin slices of tomato and were accompanied by six (6) french fries (or chips as they are called here and in the UK). My wife's sandwiches had a negligible amount of melted cheese on them, so it was basicly a pita bread and lettuce sandwich ... YUM!<br/><br/>The meal was cheap enough, but the value was poor and many menu items are a bit more expensive than many places in India. Granted, this was also New Year's Day in a party town, so they may not have been at their best after a long night, but we were not impressed in the least and will choose from the many other restaurants in Candolim for our next dozen or so meals. Maybe they will appreciate our business.<br/><br/>CombatCritic Gives The Mango Grove 3 Out of 10 Bombs ... After a 2 Bomb Deduction For a Crappy Attitude ... More Bombs Are Better!

One of the best place to have breakfast in Goa. I wanted to try something different than the typical Goa hangouts and I strolled in for some breakfast with my posse. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming staff (which is a rarity in Goa eateries). We ordered an amazing array of sumptuous breakfast spread which was delicious to the core, special mention for the ham omelette. After all that delicious food when we got the bill we realised that this place is so reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Goa. I highly recommend it way above all the Brittos n Titos and Infantarias of Goa

Awesome French toast.... Best till date. This place right on the main road. Staff is very friendly, supportive & suggestive. Environment is nice. A nice place to sit and have a powerful brunch for the fun ahead in day. We had mixed fruit porridge, which is also nice. On a whole a decent place to eat and relax. A walk away from candolim beach. U come near by ... A must to visit n eat restaurant. Great going guys!! ????
