Review The Stone House - Candolim

Tagger Ravikant
It's a good place to have fun w your family and friends.. But when we came there it was quite empty and felt a little dull. Ignoring that, the service was great and the food was quite delicious Loved the live music ! And the view from this place of the street is quite cool. Surely, go there if you want a peaceful evening w little to no tourists.. Now, maybe there will be more people here in peak season? Still not sure.

With a band playing your favourite songs, great food, drinks and a relaxed evening, and the true Goan vibe... what more does a Goa traveller want? Must visit for everyone.

Spent the evening of FIFA finals, enjoying the match between Argentina and France here. The ambience of the restaurant was great. We ordered a variety of seafood and chicken items, in fact lots of them as we thought we would be there for more than 2 hours. All the items were delicacies and were served well ahead of a reasonable wait time. The staffs were very friendly, appreciating the choices and suggesting changes in the orders to make our evening memorable. The restaurant is pet-friendly. A must visit in Candolim.

The ambience of this place was pretty nice. Being Saturday night, we assumed there would be live music like some of the other restaurants down the street but unfortunately there wasn't any. Not a big deal since they were playing some really good classic rock. The food was pretty good. We were a mixed group and therefore tried a variety of dishes. We tried the prawn stuffed papad, veg hakka noodles, cheese garlic butter naan, chicken tikka (too salty). In the beginning, the service was unacceptably slow with just one waiter and two servers who couldn't manage the number of tables occupied. We had to inform the owner/manager about having to wait 20+ minutes for a round of repeat drinks, and then service were better. We did feel bad because it wasn't totally the waiters fault since it was just him managing so many tables on his own.

Great vibes, amazing music and good food. Highly recommended.

We were longing to have some good steak in North Goa, specifically Candolim. Read reviews about this place and decided to go here. So they have 4-5 varieties of flattened beef steak. Goan spicy masala, portuguese, whisky, etc. We ordered the portuguese in red wine & whisky steak. The meat was well cooked as per our requirement (one rare and other well done) but the flavors were missing. The whisky steak was in white sauce which could have been mentioned in the description. The potato was dry and had no flavor šŸ˜ž We also ordered the stone house cocktail. It was awesome. The kids had hakka noodles which was good quantity. The service was good and quick. They had old numbers playing on the screen which lifted the mood. The esthetics were great of the place. Overal experience 8/10 Will go back next time. ... šŸ‘šŸ‘

We had a great time! Live band was amazing. Food was average but tastes was so much more enhanced with the atmosphere. Great alt rock music playing all the classics. No particular food suggestions but definitely a super fun place to have a good drink and enjoy in candolim

The stone house is unique in terms of its ambience! This place made of glass bottles in its outer walls is fascinating! Entire place housed with plants of different varieties! Famous for their sea food and live music. We tried their Schezwan prawns friend rice and chicken tikka masala, both of which were delicious. This place won't disappoint you in taste and also in service.

Good place and reasonable prices. They even have a live concert. They have projectors as well, on which they streamed world cup matches

This place has amazing interiors. Their walls made of glass bottles in stones. Dining area is full of plants. Tables arranged with adequate spaces. Accessibility is clear as it is on Candolim-Aguada road. Tea was as per our needs and even though they didn't have breakfast menu, there were few items available, which was great. It is popular for its music and non-veg food menu. Would definitely visit for dinner and cocktails.

Itā€™s a restaurant not a rock concert venue. I appreciate the live music but not that itā€™s so loud you canā€™t talk to your fellow diners without shouting. Sorry but it was an awful experience, one that has sadly become common place in Candolim

We went there on a Wednesday evening where they were full house but we luckily got a table immediately and were seated comfortably. We loved the ambiance, a good band was playing as well. However we noticed, we were the only Indians in the restaurant. The place was full with foreigners which is not really a bad thing however the staff seemed to only be paying attention to the others and not us. We requested multiple times for our food to be served. Even something as simple as a slice of lime wasn't served even after multiple requests. Later the table next to us was occupied by a few Indians who were going through a similar trouble as us. Bogged by all this we decided to pay up and leave however even getting the cheque was quite a task. My husband and I finally got fed up, walked up to the bar, paid and left!

A very nice place to visit when it comes to ambience. The staff is friendly and approachable. But the taste is one place they can improve. I had Pork Vindaloo, Rice, Roti and Thumbs up. We also ordered a milk shake, but the staff forgot to bring it. No complaints though. Will visit the place again, may be for dinner next time.

Had awesome time yesterday when we went for dinner at The Stone House. Passed by the restaurant a few times as it was close to our Resort and were curious as to try it out because of the live english music band that were playing everytime. Food was good, we tried some Goan cuisines which was awesome. Had a chance to interact with the Band and the owner and all seemed verybdown to earth and simple guys. Seems it is a huge hit with Foreigners as it was almost full but hardly any Indian crowd most of it were foreigners and were having a great time. Will definitely try some more food on the menu on our next visit to Goa.

The music was very loud and the audio system was bad. It was annoying. Thank God they realised it but it was too late. We were there by 11pm and only they had to offer us was beers and papad. No food, no starters.

Great ambiance and great music! A nice lively place to hang out!

Food is average... not very good!

The staff is very courteous and customer friendly!

Straight to the point...

Calamari was on my mind..when i asked for suggestion from the server..and he recommended calamari in some goan flavors..which was delicious.

He then suggested chicken xacuti with bread(Goan bread which without any gravy also was tasty)

Bibinca was good for whoever likes this goan dessert.
And well..cold coffee as a dessert was a satisfactory end.

The atmosphere is very pleasant alongside live music.
The Stone House . For starters the place decor is good and well worth the visit with a live band and big screen for the football match, So ordered for long island ice tea and it was good however the glass was much smaller than the normal LIT glasses. Moving on, ordered for starters, and mussels were not available, so golden fried prawns and squid recheado it was, the prawns were small, like curry prawns but the taste was excellent and quantity sufficient. For main course placed an order and pork chops were not available, so ordered for beef and chicken Sizzlers and not what I expected. It was dried down chicken curry with rice, boiled veggies, egg, and fries. And dried down Beef curry with mashed potato, boiled veggies, egg, and fries. So bottom line.

Ambiance 4/5
Music 5/5
Taste of food 2/5
Value for money 2/5

I would recommend this place only for starters and beer.
Nice place. Live music was very good and the place was very lively by night.

Cocktails were initially not great but when we mentioned it to them, they took it back and made it really well.

Their Goan curry was really nice and I would definitely recommend it.

Nothing else really stands out per se overall itā€™s a good place to hang out.

We were here on a Sunday night when they had a live band playing. The restaurant was packed to capacity and we had to wait a bit to be seated.
It seemed that the restaurant was understaffed as the service was extremely slow. It took us multiple requests for someone to take our order, and Iā€™m not lying, it took them literally an hour to bring us our drinks.Ā
The food took multiple reminders as well. By the time our food was served, we were so tired of waiting that we didnā€™t even feel hungry anymore.Ā
Some items off the menu were quite tasty while the others were average. Once the place emptied out, we were given a lot more attention and the staff was being slightly more efficient in terms of our orders.
Maybe it was season time and they had a lot of rush coming in, but at the same time, the restaurant should be prepared for this and should, at least, staff itself adequately.
We had a mixed experience here. I may not revisit.

I loved the place it has great food, butter garlic n calamari were yummy. It has excellent live band, that day played superb rock music felt like to get up groove to the beats. The ambiance is nice. Would recommend you my friends to visit specially during season and I will visit it soon
Although away from the beach, The Stone House is known for it's ambience and live bands. We visited on a weekday. The service was quick. Because we were here for a short while, we ordered for mashed potatoes rather than an entire meal. The mashed potatoes seemed reheated, with some parts still being cold.

As mentioned earlier, the interiors are done really well but need to be maintained better.
Abhik Sen
I have mixed feelings but I will give it a 4 still, simply because of the great music and ambience of the place.

Food was rather average and portions of starters were tiny for even two people to share! Their prawns on toast was not so great! Kebabs were tender but too small a serving! My friend just did not like her Tuna Salad! I had a steak which was good but there was no starch to go with it like a mash potato or fries or rice! I guess that is just a subjective opinion though.

Would I go back! Possibly!
Ricardo.groenke
Nice place from outside. They really need to work on cleanliness. Ā Table mats were dirty. There were spiderwebs in the hanging lamps. Ā Service is slow. Ā I tried a couple of Goan dishes: Shrimp curry was disappointing. Too spicy and tasteless at the same time. And to think that it has to be difficult to damage a dish that has shrimps. I also tried Mushroom Xacuti. It was good. Much better than the shrimp curry. Not much to remember from this place.

Great music and ambience! Had my first kind fish here! The restraunt is cool! The vice is chill! Great booze and food! Also great prawn papad!

Just a "wow" place. Location is Central but away from the beach, but they have a done a great job with the interior of the place. It is rustic and cozy.

Food is just mouth watering delicious. If u are looking for a place to avoid all the spicy oily food, this is the place to be in. It has a decent bar menu not a very elaborate one.

Great place for a quiet dinner date and conversation. If u are in North Goa, this is a must visit place.
Priyanka
This dinner was worth every penny. I had the prawn pasta in white sauce and I have to tell you it was delicious.
The calamari rings, my pasta , yummy cocktails and the live music made my evening.

10 years ago, this place was amazing; 10 years later this place is still excellent. The food is great, variety of drinks, courteous staff, superb ambience and top notch collection of Blues. Although we missed the live band on our visit, the place is nonetheless one of the best places in Candolim. A must visit for sea food lovers.

Went here with friends for food n music n wow the sizzler was amazing.
Out of 4 of us 2 got sizzlers and boy they was good n so filling. We asked for chillis in the gravy so it was like a curry n it was awesome, we both didnā€™t leave Anything n my friends have gone back again for more sizzlers :))))
Keep up the good work

King fish curry with steamed rice is well done and should not be missed. Fish is very done well, curry is a bit on lesser side when it comes to sensible quantity and the weak quantity is a distraction. Heineken and Carleberg pints tasted , let's say not normal. Former had a packaging date of Oct, clearly either this outlet had it stocked or is only open over weekend to still serve Oct beer

Awesome ambience and music. Good variety in menu. Really good value for money if one is looking for a lazy evening with family and friends. Don't look for authenticity of cuisine. But food overall tastes good.

Such a fun place! Awesome music, good food, v good prices.. chill way to spend an evening.

We had chicken in lemon thyme, curry rice and the most awesome garlic bread.

I wasnt even drinking and this was fun:)

Ambience good, lot of space to accommodate many. Food was just ok and not so economical. Lot of antique decorations are quite attractive. Service can be improved.

This place in Goa has been monumental for us. The own Christopher is extremely polite and courteous and makes the visit personalised. The ambience has a certain ease to it with a partially open roof top and a live band playing the right kind of music on an highly elevated platform. The costs of the drinks are pocket friendly and the seating area boasts of Portuguese fashion farms and iron chairs etc. One section overlooks the street so you can choose to either watch the hustle bustle on the street or a quiet corner with fishes and potted plants. The food tastes good and you can enjoy a long date night with beau with a good balance of mushy whispers and sensible conversations. We loved this place so much that we went back to it.. twice! And all the three times, the place has scored a thumbs up from us.

The house of Blues! It seems to be the only place (at least that I know of) in North Goa to host Blues/Rock bands for the evenings. The podium where the band plays overlooks the tables below which gives the audience a stunning experience, during the gig. Chris (the owner) is a genuinely humble gentleman, always watchful of anyone who needs attention and of course a Blues guy. This place has its own charm and wont disappoint you if you're into that kind of stuff

I wonder how the place has been rated 3.7.

The waiters don't understand what we say. We ordered for 2 garlic breads, lime juice. They never gave us the garlic bread and served mausambi juice instead of lime. We'd to wait for more than 20 minutes.

They served stale food, because of which my friends and I are having stomach infection (vomiting, nausea, stomach ache).

Since I'm a vegetarian, I ordered for roti and curry. The person uses the same clay oven to make non veg (tandoori) and veg (rotis, tandoori paneer etc).

The 1 rating is only for the music.

Wish they'd invested money on good quality food and separate kitchen for veg & non veg, instead of those show bikes kept inside.

Would NEVER recommend the place. TERRIBLE!

So we thought we will have a nice dinner as it was the last day in Goa. I found this on Zomato. The place looked very classy and very nice. There was a live music going on in the background and the singer was good. Then it came to the food and the ambience. The waiters were confused and the food we had were little rotten and my friends and I ended up sick and nauseous. Iā€™m giving 1.5 rating only for the singer they had.

The Rocking Place..!

We visited on 28 Sep 17 for dinner. We requested for a Veg Sizzler, Naans and Aloo Jeera vegetable.

Ambience ā€“ ā€¦. Deserves a 4.0 star..! The place has good wooden interiors that resonates well with the loud rock music, either through a live band or recorded. The tables are well placed and the place DOES NOT in anyway, look cramped up as most places in Goa tend to. The display of Royal Enfields inside the dinning place and next to your table is very creative. The place, more often than not, plays live band music. A good platform for all upcoming musicians. And they arenā€™t push overs, take my word for it as Christopher, the owner, takes good interest in screening them.

Food ā€“ A wee bit of disappointment. Not truly outstanding in taste or quantity but the do strive their best. But in a place like this, with free flowing beer and music, one doesnā€™t really tend to care about it. The order also took a while and prompting but its worth your wait whilst listening to music.

Service ā€“ Slow and slightly inefficient as well. The guys do run around but may a times in circles, and donā€™t make eye to eye contact with customers. But again, that leads to spending more time on table and thatā€™s what you came here for..right..?! šŸ˜Š

Went there on thursday evening 28th sept 2017. The staff as courteous, food was good loved the steak great ambience and the Live band made up for everything that might have been lacking great music. All in all a great evening. Keep it up.

This is a place we just happened to go to and were extremely glad it turned out real good. With a live band playing some contemporary rock the evening was worth it.
The stonehouse sea food sizzler has squid, king fish prawns cooked in a goan style : the preparation is not at all spicy served with some boiled vegetables and some rice.
The meat platter comes with chicken, fish , beef: again a similar style preparation.
Flattened beef steak served in a red wine and pepper sauce was what we enjoyed the most. The portions are good enough for a person. The beef fish was superbly flavored- succulent piece of meat served with some French fries.

Went there on d night we landed in Goa. We were on foot n rushed into stone house as it started raining. The live music was great! So was my margarita! My husband's beers weren't chilled though. The appetisers were decent. D chicken sizzler was pretty good. Thought it would be a good way to end of trip by having last dessert there too. After having v nice bebincas with ice cream in different places everyday, this was awful. It was hardly 2 mouthfuls served with rock solid tasteless ice cream that d waiter had to cut with a knife when our spoons didn't go through. Sad.

I wish I could rate this restaurant lower!! Pathetic food, pathetic portions, rotis made of maida (now that's a first one even for me!!!), sour paneer, and absolutely badly done chicken xacuti!!! So much so that we had to ask for pickle to eat our food, rotis and jeera rice both!! Somehow managed to eat our food because we were so hungry and didn't want to walk out. Street dogs keeping us company roaming freely inside the restaurant, looks like this place has seen its better days a decade or so ago!! At 10 in the night they did not have chilled breezers, beat that in Goa!! . To top it all, completely disinterested servers. Left a poor taste in our mouth and hearts. Best avoided.. Please do definitely avoid.
Apurv Kesarkar
The service is absolutely appalling!! They have IPL going on on a big screen and the waiters are more interested in watching cricket than serving guests. We had to actually call out to them every time. In food, we ordered for a prawns rava fry which was really good. Then we asked for a chicken mughlai which was completely lacking in flavour, so we asked him for something with some flavour and spice. The waiter then bought us a chicken curry which was basically chicken and red chilli powder mixed in the mughlai. Absolutely inedible. Team that with the horrendous service, and sorry Stone House but I'm not coming again.
S Nathwani
Not the place I would like to go again

Some reasons to support the opinion
1. Beer - Opened without asking, it was not even cold, chilled is a different story
2. Long Island Iced Tea (Wife's Drink) - Upsetting, added mint leaves to it
3. Garlic Bread - made in Pav. I mean wada pav wala pav
4. Veg fried rice - half cooked rice

Ambience is ok with lot mosquitos to accompany

Bon Apatite!

Situated on the main Candolim street, The Stone House is a perfect place in North Goa to enjoy great food in the arms of nature! It's pretty big from inside which may not be visible from outside. I found it one of the most greenest restaurants of North Goa. Though i was tempted by the whole menu but ordered only Gobhi Manchurian, Cold Coffee and Mocktails. No doubt, the food was tasty. I was also impressed by their beautiful interiors, hanging plants, lamps, fans, wooden and iron chairs and tables. Their staff is also nice. Must say this place is an apt combination of good food, nice ambience and lively music!

Warm interiors and airy, the plants dotting the windows and the stone facade look very inviting. Awesome music and great food makes the place a must visit

-:LOCATION & INFO:-
If you're passing by the lanes of Candolim looking for a chill out place & you hear some nice Live Band Music piercing through the silent street, stop by & make sure you head straight into The Stone House..! The place is surely in my list of TOP 5 RESTOBARS in Candolim! This one never disappoints..
The soul reason why we chose to go here was the Brilliant Live Music we could hear, but later the food too, impressed us..!

-:AMBIENCE:-
The Ambience is more of relaxed, awesome kind with Lively Vibes..! Better than most others..A few tables are placed next to the tainted glass windows facing the main steeet..The other tables are placed inside..Even though the RestoBar is opened aired, the protection from the sun is well maintained! Spacing is good! The height between chair & tables is comfortable..The Live Band Artists have been given a space on the mezzanine floor--a well-lit area from where you can see them play! All-in-All, a great ambience!

-:DRINKS:-
We happened to try out it's extensive menu range & ordered for a few drinks to get ourselves started..Tried the Rocket Fuel, Magic Moments & a hot Honey Bee for my friend suffering from Cold & Cough..Also had some

For Food, we took recommendations from the Captain.. He suggested a few dishes on which we had a sincere thought upon & later added a few more of our choice..Started off with Gobi Manchurian & a few Cheese Garlic Breads with the drinks..

GOBI MANCHURIAN (4.5/5): The classic Gobi Manchurian with loads of Garlic, Onions, Green Chillies & loads of Crisp..Wonderful taste..MUST-TRY! (P.S. You eat Gobi Manchurian anywhere in Goa/Karnataka, it has to be good!)

CHEESE GARLIC BREADS (5/5): Ordered 1 plate of Cheese Garlic Bread, loved it & went on to order 3-4 plates more..Their bread literally got over :-p The taste was so appealing, we just couldn't stop ourselves..MUST-TRY!

CHICKEN IN BRANDY CREAM SAUCE (4.5/5): A great option for Chicken Lovers..Served along with some French Fries, Veggies & Rice, this Chicken dish proved to be a superb suggestion from the Captain..MUST-TRY!

PRAWNS MASALA FRY (1/5): Didn't really like the taste of the dish..Sort of tangy & not suitable for the Prawns dishes..Served with French Fries & a few veggies..Not really worth a try..

Ordered for Sizzlers as well.. The Sizzler serving style is totally different than what you would expect..Veggies, French Fries, Single Omelette on Rice & a thick continental gravy on the choice of meat..All of these served on different Cabbage Leaflets..

SEAFOOD SIZZLER (4.5/5): In addition to the Veggies, French Fries, Rice & Gravy topped with a Single Omelette, a Crispy Fried Fish which was literally hot & excellent on taste..MUST-TRY!

CHICKEN SIZZLER (3/5): Replace the Fried Fish with Chicken & there you go, it's a Chicken Sizzler..! The Chicken could have done with some lite marination..It was rather bland..

FRENCH FRIES (4/5): Thick slim sliced Potatoes Deep Fried & sprinkled with Salt & other seasoning..They were crispy even though they were so thick..

DAL FRY WITH STEAMED RICE (4.5/5): A simple man's meal! Wasn't expecting the Dal to be so tasty! Even though only a handful of people will ever go for a dish so simple in such a place, I'd recommend this to those few handful..A MUST-TRY!

FISH FINGERS (3/5): Didn't find it to be so Crispy..Along with the Fingers there could have been some other dip-dips too! The Finger themselves could be a little better..

AMERICAN CHOPSUEY (5/5): A great dish all-in-all! Loved the overall taste..The omelette on the top was like icing on a cake! Lip-Smacking Chopsuey! A MUST-TRY!

-:DESSERTS:-
BELGIAN CHOCLATE

-:SERVICE:-
No doubt the Service is Super Nice! In such a lovely, lively environment, there's no possible chance of being let down by these guys..From suggestions to serving, all's good!

We happened to like the place & would surely come back here next time we're in Goa..Loved the Live Music thing..Wonderful voices of those 2 artists will stay in my memory for long..

AMBIENCE: 4.5/5
FOOD: 4.5/5
DESSERTS: 4/5
SERVICE: 5/5
VALUE-FOR-MONEY: 4.5/5

OVERALL: 4.5/5

~ This place located in the midst of busy Candolim can be a nice try for the sake of its ambience & live music. I wouldn't say the same for the quality of food here though. The quantity served is minimal for the amount that it's priced for. We were jus 6 of us & the bill was nearly around 10k!! An easy way to burn a hole in your pockets! šŸ˜… I regret suggesting this one to my friends that night.

Pleasant ambiance, live soft rock and cool wind. Everything from food to the music seemed awesome. We ordered fish tikka which was quite fresh and sumptuous. Chicken tikka and boiled vegetable in spinach sauch were nice. Garlic bread seemed a bit lame but everything gulped down with glasses of Bira and Corona. Go with friends to enjoy music and the aura.

Located on the main Candolim street, Stone House is pretty huge inside which you can't see standing on the road. Beautiful spacious interiors, glass bottle walls, hanging plants, wooden and iron chairs and tables; it gives off a very fun vibe. Seems like the perfect location for a fun party.
They even have a balcony overlooking the seating area from where a live band plays on certain days and a private dining area.

It is also apparently very happening on Monday nights.. Finally found a place that can say this!

We ate the regular masala fry squid, fish fingers, kingfish curry, rice and rawa fried mussels washed down with white Bira. Good food, good portions good prices. They have a vaast bar and continental cuisine selection on the menu

Definitely going back again to try more, especially on a good weekend or Monday night!
Very poor quality food. Very poor service. Had to wait for than an hour after ordering. Another 10mins for the plates to be served after multiple follow ups. We got carried away by the good ambience.

We ended up here when we had absolutely no plans of eating because the Christmas decoration was one of the best on the street and there was a great live band playing! The decoration and music was so great and attracted us so much that we thought we'd step in for a quick drink. Lovely ambience and courteous staff. Great great live music!! The place was screaming CHRISTMAS!! We thought we might as well eat something now that we were there and ordered a Chinese Chopsuey along with our drinks. It was excellently made.

I want to go back!!!

Beautiful ambience, very lively and cozy feel to the place, good live performance , good drinks but disappointing food. If u wana go to the place go for drinks and music not food.
We went on a Sunday where they had an amazing band. The music was fantastic and we loved it.
Food was average but the service sucks. We had to wait half an hour just to get menu cards, had the patience to sit an hour longer to get drinks and food.
Will not go there as the whole fun and pleasure of music was ruined by bad service.
M only giving 2 for music. Rest is 0 cannot comment about food as it was served very late so we ran out of patience.

Only went here for a couple drinks and snacks before dinner, and was very happy with the service and ambience. The live music was a big plus too.

Food: wow, loved the spread of food here. Their Steamed fish was a treat to any food lovers.

Service: staff are very friendly and ready to help.

Price: Neither cheap not expensive, good enough when you are on a short holiday.

Convenience: On the main road, so easy to find. Their parking is basically in the road, easy if it's a bike.

Wine: they have a huge wine collection for all budgets.

Overall loved the place, will be visiting again.

Went for lunch and the place was almost empty with just a couple of tables occupied. Ordered a veg pasta in white sauce and some Goan chicken curry and rice. Food was quite good but again not extraordinary. Ordered Bloody Mary and a beer to go with the food. The place is very decently priced.

Old world charm with a musical touch. Wonderfully decorated with hanging plants and antique furniture. Went there for a lazy lunch..tried the Mushroom Xacuti and Prawn Sizzler. Well cooked and served on time. Worthy of its name..

Very nice ambience. Lots of plants inside. The pork chilly fry was well cooked. The pomfret rocheado was above average. The service was quick.

The service is very bad. They don't show up even with the menu card. And if you happen to be the lucky one who could place an order then you got to wait for ages for your food.

Hello everyone. Nice to be back . So, it's stone house in candolim near my guest house. Pretty well known place. Straight to the point - music , awesomest part. Must try - Pomfret fish. And I also had Goan fish curry - it was par . I walked in for lunch - empty house it was so service was superb. Most unimpressive part - I ordered beer , none amongst 8% available. Only premier he said. Sad it was. Anyways , he helped me rotten new one , which was okay. All in all, you can visit here , but for lunch !! Am not sure

The food is above average but nothing that great. Their take on cheese garlic bread is something we hadn't seen before. One can try it for a unique experience. we also tried the pasta in cream and spinach sauce and schezwan noodles. They were nice! The place is certainly better than most others in its surroundings.
The ambience and interiors of the place are very nice. Sadly, we went in off season so most of the place was closed and it was empty. I'm sure the place must have an amazing ambience, music and crowd in season.

A strict no no for North Indian food. Roti were burnt and dry. Curry had no taste.
Overpriced wrt the food taste.
Except French fries and lime water, didn't like anything else.

Surprise place with a sort of unforeseen visit by us. While we planned to go to Baga, hindered by the crazy fares of Goa taxis for short distances, we decided to do the short walk to Stone House and have our lunch there...
The place is cute with 3-4 tables neat a window and few more tables in a courtyard sort of place. On a hot Monday afternoon in May, only 3 of the tables were occupied. They were also not operating their tandoori section.
First off, we ordered a large Kingfisher to be shared. We decided to keep it light and go only for the mains - Veg gratin with spinach and cheese for me and Chicken in brandy cream sauce & rice for the husband. I requested for less cheese in the au gratin.
What was served was surprisingly nice. The veg au gratin had lots of chunky vegetables like carrots, beans and cauliflower with shredded spinach in a white sauce. However, as per my instruction the cheese was decidedly not in copious quantities. The dish was still really good and decently light on the stomach.
The chicken in brandy cream sauce was again a creamish coloured sauce with chicken pieces and served with a small mound of rice. The sauce had hints of brandy but not overwhelmingly so.
All in all with great options for non-vegetarians in continental and decent few for vegetarians, it's a good convenient place to try.
1 Large Kingfisher + 1 Veg main + 1 NV main cost us Rs. 720 + taxes
The ambience seems nice. The band being on top is a nice twist to the place. A bit too lifeless and dull even on a weekend when I visited the place.
Coming to the food. Mussels wrapped in bacon with honey glaze is something I liked.
The steaks are definitely what you should try here.

On a hot Sunday afternoon, when every place on the Candolim street was either full or already closed for lunch, The Stone House seemed like the only place that wasnā€™t doing any business. In spite of being set up in a beautiful old Portuguese bungalow with a great ambience, the place was absolutely deserted, but the charm of the place made it worth giving it a try.

Ambience is awesome, fully made with wood. They have live music also occasionally. Food taste is also awesome, both veg and non veg. Go for veg noodles if ur Chinese lover. They offer drinks also.

A nice place to hang out with your family and friends. They have a live band playing good music. The presentation of the dishes is very impressive though they can improve on the service part. Their continental menu is a must try. Must visit place.

Most amazing & relaxing place to be in candolim to spend your evening. Mouth watering food with absolutely soothing live music will surely make you fall in with this place. There was only thing that one of the waiter was a lil bit rude which was the only drawback of this place for me, but rest is all good.Poonam Lemoriya Prashant Shivhare

This was my first visit to this place and I went there because we were so hungry and this place was right opposite to place I was staying so had opted for this option for some quick bites place has nice exteriors with wall
Made up of bottles and different interior which make you feel like in some nice Goan place. They play very nice live music which is there usp. Food is good try there chicken staganoff which was nice and sea food. In all it's good place to have food once you are in candolim.

Had dinner here this evening.
AMBIENCE was decent. Live blues band was average and a bit too loud (drowned conversation).
FOOD was average and somewhat over priced in my view - given the quality. We ordered
1) King Fish in Lemon and Thyme Sauce (Decent but bare. Served with plain rice. Rice needed some flavour and dish should have some accompaniments - steamed veggies/ salad);
2) Fish Fingers - were hard and chewy. Had too much batter;
3) Tandoori King Prawns - nice but ridiculously expensive at 700 bucks for 8 prawns!;
4) Chilli Chicken (dry) - ok but could be tastier;
5) French Fries - decent
6) Fresh Lime soda - good
SERVICE was poor. Very slow and unresponsive. No waiters around to order or ask for anything. Long wait to get anyone's attention. Indifference when told about quality of fish fingers.
I wouldn't go back or recommend the place

The food was not very exiting but not disappointing as well.Ā
It took almost about 40 min every dish that left me frustrated.Ā
Ambience is really cool and taste is satisfactory !

Came after searching for this restaurent specially for the food and music but the service is very damn poor.. We ordered for garlic bread with cheese but the plain garlic bread came..and when asked for sauce we were given chinese sauces!! Here foreigners are catered much better.. we cancelled all orders and when asked for bill the staff was cool about itšŸ˜.. not again visiting this place for sure

I've been coming here to watch my friends play and always thought the food was subpar. However, my recent encounter has warranted a review. Here goes...
STARTERS - Ordered Stuffed Prawn Papad and Garlic Cheese Bread. We returned the stuffed papad for the pool of brown oil that made the dish inedible (tried it). The garlic bread is made with the local bread "poi" and is okay.
MAIN - Ordered the Flattened Whisky Steak, Chicken in Lemon Thyme Sauce and Paneer Tikka. The beef steak was decent. The panner tikka was bland - not a hint of tikka flavour. The spoiler for me was the Chicken. 350/- for 1/4th of a breast. The Manager/Owner is of the opinion that its a main course sized portion. They have been serving it for years. The sauce quantity was more than the chicken. To add to the dish was mashed potatoes i.e. grated potatoes, not very pleasant. The dish was great enough to ruin my appetite and make a mental note to never eat here again (Photo for evidence). The only saving grace is the ambiance of this place.

The food here is pretty good...wouldn't say the best but the ambiance is lovely...ders a nice live band playing up top visible to all tables..idk if this happens everyday or jus that day I happened to b there..

Excellent service and music is outstanding!! Try the butter garlic poie which is not a part of their menu but they do serve it on request! The owner Chris is an amazing guy to talk to and he is always at the bar!

Ordered two mains with a 80% hit ratio. The cocktails were decent though. Conveniently located on the main road, this place can do so much more.

Food quality was good however service was very slow. They don't have a card reader. So be ready with cash . One if us asked for warm water which was never served. We had to eat in quarter plates. No proper plates were given

We went there on a deserted friday evening and were surprised to see the place so empty that too in December.
Tired due to 3 km walk we gave the place and shot due to nice ambiance.
Ordered tiger prawns with rice, fries, chicken saagwala , butter chicken, shahi paneer, daal. The food was good and so was the service.. The only disappointing part was they had used maggi masala in most of the veggies so it gave the same taste ans as if we were eating maggi.
I would really advice the staff to look into this ASAP.
Besides this a great place which wont dissapoint you !!

This one is a favourite with the husband, so much so that we visited here every night during this and the previous trip to Goa. It is favoured primarily for the live music performances. We have mostly gone here after dinner for a couple of drinks. It is a very lively place and is done up quite nicely too. This time we ordered a penne in white sauce which was brilliant. The consistency of the sauce was just right. It was so flavourful in itself that we did not feel the need to add any sauces/herbs, etc. Next was fish curry rice and it was ok, the curry a little too thick. I've had better at other places in Goa. Anyway, we come here for our dose of good music and in that department they are bang-on and that will keep getting us back here.

Situated right on the main road of candolim. This restaurant is special.

On Thursday they had a live performance. The singer was singing English, Hindi, Goan and Russian song. Which was awesome.

In starters we ordered paneer chilly (Indian style). I have always eaten Chinese style paneer chilly so was little apprehensive but was glad that I tried it. The quantity was great and the taste was top notch.

In main course we called for something with spinach cream sauce and veggies with mash potatoes. Quantity was huge and the dish was too good.

In mocktails tried their Pinacolada which was bad. Lassi with pineapple flavour.

Service was excellent and ambience was just too good.

Since we were holidaying in Goa. We loved the fact that along with Bill they give blank postcard. It's a sweet memory.

Came back to this place after 3 years have to say the place is still rocking and serves great food we ordered chicken tikka it was good small pieces though. Garlic bread with cheese and chicken pasta is amazing and should not be missed and the live band that plays music is something you will not find in many places in Goa the band plays amazing 60,70's no. Which makes the ambience more vibrant and enjoyable. Would love to come back again. About the service it is little slow that's normal in entire north Goa, the music keeps you busy.

Visited this place for dinner on my visit recently. Good decent ambience and they had the live music going on which added to the attraction. This one is right on the road and easy to locate. We ordered for the chicken fried rice, chicken chilly, seafood cocktail, grilled promfret and chicken steak. The service is little slow and it gets little awkward during rains..
The steak was very good whereas all other dishes were OK kind of.

Best part is the ambiance inside with live music. It was very nice. The decor is also nicely laid out. The place also seems big. The only problem is the service as they have lesser people for service it seems. Otherwise it's a good place for drink and dinner.

Absolutely marvellous. Such a pretty place. Amazing live bands every night. Good food. And probably the nicest management in any Goa restaurant. The bar tender is a fantastic guy. The crowd in general is very friendly here too.

Had been here with friends of mine...the place grabbed our attention as ambience was something we were looking for....we decided to try this place out...the vocalist inside multiplied to the charm inside...
We had ordered paneer butter masala, peas pulav, garlic naan, chicken pasta n port wine...the preparation was nice but the service was Lil poor..we had to wait for the food but the live music compensated for it....we had asked the waiter for two wine glasses but he just got one...
My overall rating for the place 4
Food - 3.5 (good food)
Ambience -4.5
Service - 3

I've heard a lot about this place on my previous visits to goa ! To be honest was a second choice as my usual haunt bistro was closed ( end of season ) . I've walked past several times and it always looks nice .
Pleasant inside I would imagine a good atmosphere in high season and they normal have live music on !
Food was decent , a good garlic bread to start and the steak surprisingly good for local . Only negatives displaying a dessert card showing amore Ice cream but none of the desserts available but got kulfi instead and staff winding down after a busy season although very friendly.
I come back but with lots of choice in season wouldn't be in a rush but an enjoyable evening !

It was very late when me and my friends hopped in here... Last order at 11pm.. Chinese food was ordered... The taste was above average... Food was cooked but it was not warm enough..
Ambience of the place is real pleasure... They've live Gig setup there.. But was off that time due to slack period... Overall a nice place... :)

Quiet evening. Country music. Had a flattened whiskey steak with fresh mushroom and pomme chateau, king prawns with lime garlic and parsley. Would recommend. May go again.

This place absolutely rocks! Ā The decor, music, food...all of it combines very well to give a fantastic experience.

We visited The Stone House on a Saturday night. Ā the ambiance was lively and very inviting. Ā The menu is very interesting and we were spoilt for choice! Ā After much deliberations we ordered bacon wrapped in mussels and prawns on toast. Ā Just one word to describe the Bacon wrapped in mussels: OUTSTANDING. It is not-to be-missed. Ā The mussels were well cooked and went brilliantly with the bacon. Ā The prawns on toast was good too, but the mussels just blew us away. We later ordered Coconut Pancake with ice cream for desert which was good too. Ā I wish we were hungrier and could eat more!

A live band plays here every Saturday night...and the guys are REALLY GOOD. Ā They played great music and were gracious enough to play requests from patrons. Ā

Overall an absolutely rocking place. Ā A must visit if you are in Goa. Ā I am coming back to The Stone House for sure!

Amazing place! Live band playing awesome music! Sexy ambience! Great food! What more do you want??

Plus: If you know to play any instrument among Guitar, Drums or Keyboard, you can actually climb up the stage and play! How cool is that? :-D

Minus: Slow service.

Nonetheless, a MUST visit!
