Review House Of Lloyds - Candolim

The ambience is amazing. The owners were extremely friendly and gave us suggestions. We tried quite a bit from their menu the kokum prawns, pork chops, pork vindaloo the goan breads and the garlic breads which was yumm. These dishes the taste was extremely different from taste we have tried before. The starter beef slices were good , chilly pork was just ok. We tried the lamb curry too but stealing the show was the prawns kokum. Dessert we enjoyed the Carmel pudding🤩. The cocktails were one of the best we had during our Goa trip. Definitely do try the place. The prices are a bit steep but worth a try for the taste, ambience , presentation etc.

Perfect dining in Lloyds. If you would like to try Michelin plate level cuisine with regular prices this is it. Everything we tried were very tasty and well balanced. We were glad to meet also the very hospitable owner mr.Lloyd himself and his family. We tried the very good pork chops !! , beef steak medium, baked cottage cheese 🤤 and cream caramel made by his wife receipt. Everything was very tasty good and all products were good quality. Highly recommended ❗️ the place is amazing, high quality service, life music 🎶 and really tasty food for the good prices. Also there are big amount of cocktails and other tasty drinks.

Good food. We had beef stake and lobster’s unfortunately they did not have pork chops/ ribs which we heard so much about. Their pork chilly was yummy. Lobster was one of the best which we’ve had. It was expensive but worth every penny. Desert was the best. Staff was super polite. We went there for lunch hence there were very few people but the staff did tell us that they have live music almost on all evenings.

Have been visiting house of Lloyd’s for 8 years now, and they never failed to impress with their food quality. They have recently revamped the menu and have some interesting options for you to try their best dishes at the same time. I ordered the steak and chop combo and simply loved it.

The best BBQ pork chops I've ever had! Was perfected to the core and the meat was succulent. I can go on forever taking about it. The owners have done a great job with their restaurant. Went during the lunch time so the all of the restaurant was for me. Loved the dessert which was Bibinca with vanilla ice cream. A whole hearty meal to spruce up your day! BBQ fanatics make a point to visit this place.

Absolutely delicious food. Service was a bit slow but it is a popular place and it's a bit more pricer than what you are used to in Goa. But absolutely love the food, the bacon wrapped shrimps, pork chops (850/-), grilled fish (500) were yum, so was the mocktails (500/-) . Must visit. Set a bit further away from the crowded place and towards Candolim,

The occasion was special and therefore the location had to be too. So Goa it was and the” House of Lloyds” in Saipem was an evaluated choice. Nested in the garden of a 100 year-old Portuguese-Goan home, House of Lloyds serves the local Goan fare as well as some scrumptious steaks and starters under its continental cuisine section. The restaurant has a great ambiance with a display on bikes and scooters from the Vijay Super to Rajdoot to Jawa on one side and a live band in attendance alongside. The bar is housed at the far end of the restaurant and is very well stocked with the mixologists very enthusiastic to demonstrate their skills and impress customers at their counter. We decided to take on their offer of trying out three different types of Margaritas. We started with the traditional lemon Margarita. The cocktail was refreshing, as always with the lemon giving it a flavourful twist. This was followed by the tamarind margarita. The drink was interesting but a little too tangy for my liking. The Jalapeno margarita was my choice of the three. I enjoyed the spice on the palate immediately after taking a sip, would definitely recommend you give this version a try.

The food was good but a bit over priced. The ambience was awesome, and the security guard was very polite and helpful. The music was great, but I wish there were more English songs.

Peaceful and less crowded. Food was very good. But few items from menu were unavailable. Place/ambiance- 4/5 Staff - 4/5 Food - 5/5 I ordered : •Bacon wrapped prawns •Chicken skewers with peri peri sauce (5 ⭐️) •white sauce chicken penne pasta •Garlic poi/pav (was bit chewy)

This is a hidden gem in one of the bylanes of Candolim. The food is definitely expensive but worth every penny for their curated gourmet menu. Not just the food, their cocktails are very unique too. Lovely ambience, polite staff and live music all days is an add-on.

We absolutely love the food here. So much so that we went here twice in the same week. My friends tried the beef steak and it was perfect. I tried the bacon wrapped prawns and they were so well seasoned. The caramel cream is a beautiful rich dessert. Their washrooms were clean and spacious.

First of all, I love the place itself.. Second, the foods are awesome!! From starter to desserts.. The best pork and beef i had.. If you're a beef and pork lover.. this is the place to be.. The best thing is that they will open soon somewhere in mumbai.. (Sorry forgot to take photo before eating)

We found this place by accident, some surprises truly mesmerizing. Lloyd himself took care of us and played his part as an excellent host. His top notch dishes are one of the best i had and my family enjoyed too. May not be for everyone pocket though.

Nice and great ambiance, but the prices are little high.

Nice relaxed place in the middle of Saipem village. Courteous and friendly staff who will guide you if needed through your meal. Loved the stuffed crabs

Great service, and amazing dishes! Loved the food and the presentation too...the flavour in the Crab dish with rice cakes was simply outstanding 😊

After visiting House of Lloyds for the first time I would like to start the review by saying that it is one of the best restaurants in Goa. The ambience classy and romantic and is a perfect date night set up. The staff are really good and they know the menu. Besides this they have four musical events every week. Catch Goa's best jazz band Still Waters perform every Thursday nights. It feels like an honour to be graced by their presence. Coming to the food. House of Lloyd's serves the best of the best from the Goan food to the barbeques to the global cuisine. There is not a single dish that I didn't like and I owe it to the fact that they use the freshest ingredients available. No restaurant in Goa has ever been able to make a better pork chop than house of Lloyds. It's the best pork chop in Goa! #bestgoanrestaurant #bestporkchops

We had heard A LOT of good things about this place, especially their cocktails and hence, we decided to go there last Saturday night. For appetizers, we had ordered for paneer skewers and bruschetta. Both the starters were highly ok. We weren't too fussed as we had expectations from the cocktails and not the food.

In great anticipation, we then ordered three different cocktails; the white plum, lloyd's passion and the strawberry & dark chocolate. To our utter dismay, neither of the 3 ordered cocktails were anything to rave about. Felt like having some sherbet mixed with vodka.

Hoping that the dinner would be better than the cocktails, we ordered rice with paneer green curry. Before I review the dinner, just wanted to mention that we had reached there by 11 15pm and it seemed that the staff was in a hurry to shut (I could be completely wrong here though). The dinner came and lo and behold, it was probably the worst dinner I've ever experienced in Goa and I visit Goa once every year. The paneer green curry was bordering on being inedible. It was literally as if we were having a cinnamon curry.

Not wanting to take our chances with the dessert, we called for the bill and checked Zomato for a better place for dinner and drinks that night.

Ps: the above experience cost us 4.5k 🤣
#AbsoluteJoke

Extremely bad experience. The beer served to us had expired quite a few days back. When we complained about it to the Management, he said we cannot check each and every bottle. Not going there again ever. We had ordered for desserts but had to to cut our meal short because we no longer trusted the quality and freshness of the ingredients used in the preparations.

The food is strictly ok. Nothing memorable. I was expecting quite an exquisite dining experience but half the items on the menu were not available. Considering it was a Sunday you'd expect a restaurant to prepare for the weekend crowd (there wasn't any btw). The server was absolutely unapologetic and made no effort to offer customizations.

The two stars I've given is for the sangria which they managed to do well. Food is nothing to write home about.

We went to this place for our last dinner in Goa. The ambience is quite nice. The food however is disappointing. We ordered clams, crab and some Goan sausages. The crab was most disappointing. The food also is very expensive for the quality they serve.

My husband and I were here to celebrate our anniversary. The place is bit difficult to locate but once u get there the ambience is serene. The place had soft lightings with a dj playing soft retro tracks in the background that complemented the ambience- which was overall, quite pleasant.

However we have mixed feelings about the food. There were a couple of items that were listed on the menu but not available to order which was quite a let down.
We finally got down to ordering beers and a Tamarind margarita which was interesting.
For starters we had ordered stuffed crabs and prawns in lemon mustard sauce. The stuffed crab was tasty however the prawns in lemon sauce was definitely not the best. They seemed like frozen prawns that had no taste and a very peculiar stench.
For dinner we had beef stroganoff which was coked well and tasty and a chicken stuffed with blue cheese and spinach which was a lil dry.

Overall it's a bit overpriced for the overall food and experience.
This place has been there for long and have been visiting this place on & off.

Place has ample seating and good, friendly staff.

Had tried the Red Fush curry, BBQ Chicken and this visit. Steaks are good at this place. Overall food is good.

The DJ plays good music 🎶.

Well priced place & good alcohol variety available.
Magnificent restaurant that opens it's 150 year old Portuguese goan house for you to experience Goa and it's culture. The huge garden, with a lovely courtyard adds up to the beauty of this place and elevates the ambience. Few day of the week there is live music.

You can indulge in award winning BBQ, authentic Goan and continental cuisineThere are some very good fruity cocktails and Martinis.

Over all a pleasant experience!

PS: sorry for the images, thanks to dim lights.

My first time here and I highly recommend the 🍤, avocado 🥑 and mango salad as well as the pork chops! It was just my mom and I but I will be back soon to try more dishes! :)

Visited the restaurant on a weekend and was surprised to see that it was empty and only two of us were there. Found out the reason once we ordered the food. The food was exorbitantly priced as compared to other fine dine restaurants and below average. The beef steak was chewy. Certainly not value for money. There are better fine dine restaurants with better food and price.

House of Lloyds...... tonight being a monday, was a quaint place to dine. Perfect ambience, lovely 80's and 90's music and simply awesome food. The entire dining experience made even better by excellent staff.
The prawns wraped in bacon, lobster and the stroganoff were spot on.
Definitely coming back every time I'm in goa.

Food was good but quantity was less and the dishes are quite expensive... I will say overrated compare to the rating given by Zomato........

What a place!!! We planned this pit stop the moment we landed in Goa and so glad we did it and that on a Saturday evening. The place is kid friendly with a scrumptious food to boot. The ambience, the vibe of the place was really uplifting and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Thanks to the team for making our stay worthwhile.

Starting with the ambience, it's a little dull with very dim lights, also the chairs were dirty..There we're many mosquitoes too who accompanied us on our date, but the staff was kind enough to provide us with odomos spray and incense stick next to our table..The only great thing was the music..
Coming to the food we ordered-
- bacon wrapped prawns we're extremely oily and we're bland
- Spicy chicken wings were not at all spicy and we're a little undercooked
- Stuffed chicken breast with blue cheese, is was cooked spot on and tasted great.
Overall an average place.

The name is legend for Lloyds grills and bbq. However delve back in time and savour some goan delectable offerings which have been passed down from his mum and still reign supreme in this buzzing establishment. A must try are some of Lloyds cocktails and do check out his bike collection while you enjoy your meal- its on display for all to see. A perfect ambience for both lunch and dinner. A must visit for some finger licking great homely food.

I’ve been here to have the best beef stakes in north goa, I would also recommend them to all my friends and family when they visit Goa. Thanks for the entire team and management 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Possibly a little difficult to locate in the evening. Quaint place with a character. Ambience is fine except for the TVs. Food is fantastic. We had Stuffed crabs, stuffed eggplant and a dessert of the day - bread pudding. All were delectable... Special mention goes to eggplant dish.

I am a believer that price is a differentiator factor but for the quality and quantity, this is a little too exorbitant.

The ambiance were amazing and very lovely place to hangout with friends and the food was amazing and drinks were also awesome, when we went recently like day before yesterday they have screened FIFA we watched the entire match over there and crowd was too good and on the whole I would suggest you to try drinks over here.

It’s a beautiful, quaint little restaurant.. a little out of the way but lovely ambience with great music. The staff is very polite and extremely helpful.
We had the bacon wrapped prawns. It said tempura fried however the batter was way too thick, more like a pakora.. the waiter suggested we try the scallops. It was not on the menu. But he praised it enough that we ordered it. Be ware, of costed us 1000 bucks for 4 tiny scallops for starters.
We ordered a steak and pork chops for mains. The steak was perfectly cooked as desired.
However the pork chops (2chops) were huge. It literally killed my appetite as it was 2 large chunks on the plate. It was so big it didn’t fit the plate. This is something the waiter could have advised us so v could have shared it.
The restaurant is quite over priced for what we ate.
The menu on zomato is not the same as in the restaurant. Do not be deceived by the zomato pictures and menu. Order carefully. The only thing worth ordering was the drinks. Need to update their menu.

Lloyds was the first fine dine restaurant visit for me in North Goa. From the ambience to staff to food everything here is spectacular. the Mango and prawn salad is to die for and not to be missed. For a seafood lover this place is a delight. We were the first ones to be seated at around 7 pm when the restaurant opens and it was empty, usually the staff anywhere else doesn't care but here at Lloyd's we were treated so well that it never felt like we were alone. Keep it up.

Expensive for what it is...
Waiter surprisingly "presented us" the frozen lobster.. and the frozen red snapper...
I don't really advise it to anyone

Had heard a lot about this place and decided to make sure that I visit it during this visit to Goa. Beautifully set up in an Old Portuguese Villa with a Chapel of its own. Love the scooters and bikes places near the eating area. All those are from the collection of Mr. Lloyd. Very neat and clean place with really quick service as we. Another thing I loved about this place is the location since it is away from the usual hustle bustle of North Goa

Food and Drinks

Tamarind Martini – Loved a Martini finally. A very strong taste and good composition of the drink.

Stuffed Crabs – Stylish I would say. Presented in crab shells with some cheese added to it. Easy to it for the non sea food lovers too.

Zucchini Rolled Bacon – Again a very light snack that went very well with the drinks. Well presented as well

Avacado Mango Salad – Very light and thoroughly enjoyable. Finished it no time. The avocado was nice and fresh combined with some tangy mango.

Fish Curry with Rice – Had to try this at Lloyds. One of the best Fish Curry and Rice. Deliciously flavourful and mildly spicy. Just to my liking.

Special mention to DJ Sahil who was belting out such awesome music that just reminded me of my college days. Full marks to the DJ for making the evening even more fun.

I was so worried and horrified on the way to this place...hehe 1st of all it was late night and unlike Goa, roads leading to this place were so dark and abandoned.
But the moment I entered HOL, it was worth it..
Such soothing 90's music, dim lightings just perfect for the dinner after such a tiring and active day..
Food was good...The chef recommended a mutton dish which was superb.
Rest of the food was nice too..
House of Lloyds is a Steak house with a great concept done right. Meat served was tender, succulent and was roasted to the perfection. We had the Chicken Roast and Pork Chops. They also serve some exotic sweets made in house to satisfy your sweet tooth. We had bebinca with ice-cream, creme brulee and Belgium chocolate ice-cream Loved the place and its vibe. Will surely visit next time.

Since most of the restaurants close their kitchen at 11pm, we were looking for a place that serves food post 11. Thanks to Zomato I found this place which is open even after 11pm. This place has a very vast menu and food presentation is on point. It’s more of a garden restaurant with bikes kept on display in one side. It has Dj music, outdoor seating and comfortable sofas. Staff is friendly. Food quantity may not be satisfying but taste is good. Also this place is visited by good crowd.

As everyone else on this platform, I also came to Goa searching for the best authentic restaurants on Zomato. I came across this restaurant on here and then another website which stated the best Goan restaurants in Goa. My husband and I did not have any high expectations from our previous few experiences from a few different restaurants however as we entered House of Lloyd’s, the ambience and this quaintly nested restaurant lit our eyes. Rehan, our host was very nice and recommended what we should order after telling him my likes and dislikes. We ordered the bruschetta which was ok, the non veg green curry and the mix veg red curry with plain steamed rice, bread and butter pudding, this was all absolutely amazing. The flavours were great, one of the best meals I’ve had in Goa. So guys please give this place a shot you will not regret it, I’m going to definitely put this on my list for Goa every time!!! Thanks House of Lloyd’s for making our last night in Goa full of flavour!

Amazing fish curry rice ever had. Typical Goa style ambience. This place has a small church inside. Located 2.2 kms away from candolim beach.
Ambience- 4 out of 5
Food 4.5 out 5
Starter - butter garlic mushroom was perfectly roasted in butter and garlic.
Main course - as they didn't have pomfret tawa fry, they suggested curry. pomfret fish curry and rice was truly in Goan style little spicy, full of flavour and the fish was too good. Very soft and fresh. Portion was big and could serve minimum 3.
Cocktail- strawberry choclate with rum, correctly made and not too sweet.
Dessert- peanut and banana icecream, just tastes as home made ice cream without any artificial flavours
Staff were very polite and prompt service
A must visit for dinner or lunch if you are near candolim beach.
Do not forget to check out the price of fish dishes, as the fish curry rice itself costed us close to 2000 bugs.
Jason Ferrao
Extremely overrated. The actual restaurant is very small. Service is courteous yet slow (even when the place is only half full). Average menu ( food is well presented yet bland, and overpriced). The place tires too hard to appeal to tourists, as an upscale location, not to mention the out of place Bollywood DJ. Overall, for a restaurant listed as a legendary outlet this was highly disappointing.
Saloni Gokhale
The ambience and food- both severely mediocre and the prices are way too high to justify the portions. Probably the only place where they serve half a glass of Thumps Up and Only packaged water is available.

We happened to stumble into this cafe quite by mistake and had an enjoyable time with the food. We ordered a barbeque chicken and grilled fish with bibinca and ice cream.

Word of caution, before ordering the grilled fish, please ask for the cost, as we paid ₹1,500 + gst ONLY for the fish.

To top it up, the cafe would not accept card payments and only cash.

The food is good, very authentic and absolutely yum. Is it worth the price we paid? No.

Best,
The Wandering Epicurean

Delicious meal! Best of two worlds - in Candolim, yet tucked away in a quiet lane. A ‘must visit’ for excellent goa sausage chilli fry. The waiter who was seating us was unfriendly, but those who served us, did their best to make up for him.

entered this place with gang of friends with lots of expectations. LIIT was flop show so even chicken sea food pasta. goan pulao lacks of taste . snapper was aloi not good. rum and lemon prawns was bit ok.
overall disaster

Order anything and you won't be disappointed. We ordered pork ribs, prawn curry, lemon mustard prawns, pork curry and beef. By far the best place for Goan food in Goa.

Great ambience and amazing food. One of the best beef steaks I had in Goa. Service and good and friendly staff.
Good place specially if you want to have those beautiful conversations with your beloved.

Beef steak was super amazing. Definetly must try dish. Chicken grilled with spinach stuffed and blue cheese was good too.
Ambience is very soothing and perfect for a pleasant meal.
Little over priced though.

Goa in the rains is just amazing...and the icing on the cake was a chance visit to House of Lloyds. The restaurant operates on the lawns of Lloyds house, which is a typical Portuguese style villa. All the dishes were outstanding but special mention must be made of the fried crispy sardines which demanded a repeat order. Lloyd, his mum and his wife handle the Continental, Goan and desserts sections. Service is also fantastic. DJ music and a space to boogie...what more can one ask for!

I've been here so many times and always fell in love each time, not difficult to find if your a local or jus use GPS, the ambience is something I'd want you to experience yourself, the selection of the bar is really good, food and presentation is at its best no doubt, super clean toilets, friendly staff and prompt service, I loved the scallops, prawn caldin, beef chilly, the pork ribs were heavenly, this has to be on top of your must visit list in goa and rather than reading what I write go experience the experience.

Married to a chef and being a hotelier, food is very close to my heart. And when you are on a vacation then you surely think of only good food 😜. I know this review is a bit long one but then I had to pen down the details.
During my this visit to Goa we chose to stay in a five star hotel in Candolim hence we looked for dining options around the area.
When it comes to choosing a dining option, I only depend on zomato and then my friends. Trusting and looking at the reviews on zomato, we chose House of Lloyds. I was also recommended by my friends to dine there. So I called and made a reservation. I didn't realise that when I called, I actually got to speak to the owner himself- Mr. Lloyd. I specifically wanted a high chair/baby chair for my 20 months old son. I received the same upon arrival however dirty and without a safety belt.
Firstly when we arrived we were greeted by no smiles by anyone not even the chef who crossed us. I later was told that he was the owner (no offence). No one asked for water. We straight away asked for food menu. I was recommended by my friends to try the pork chops so I ordered that and my husband ordered red snapper for main course and for staters we ordered grilled pesto prawns and BBQ chicken wings.
For beverages when we asked for list of wine by glass, the waiter looked baffled and then went and called another waiter. Finally we were told that they have only 1 wine by glass and rest are all by bottles. I found that to be very less variety. As we say "beggars can't be choosers " we ordered their "only" wine by glass - white wine.
I then ordered some food for my little one, so I asked the waiter if they could make a small(baby) portion of spaghetti alioglio without any chilli. The waiter straight away said "no" that's not possible as we serve normal portion so I demanded to see or speak to the chef. It's not about money but an adult portion is too big for the little one and we would not want to waste food. The chef never came to meet and the waiter came back to say that they would do it. The spaghetti when was served (baby portion), to my surprise was smaller than a baby portion as well. Anyway it didn't matter as my baby refused to eat it.
As for our food the shrimps had less salt, the BBQ chicken wings were more towards sweeter side. My pork chops that I eagerly waited for were very chewy and somehow I didn't enjoy the cold salad with it at all. The fish was still better - it was crumb fried with some salad on side.
The music was great but so loud that I had to scream to get the waiters attention as I wanted a plate.
Last but not the least, we were never asked or served water so my husband asked that do they have water? We then got our bottled water.
Overall a very disappointing experience in terms of food and service and most importantly the attitude of staff. We were the only table in the restaurant however we still didn't get a good service.
I just wanted wrap up my review with fine food for thought for Zomato- that they should mention regarding restaurants child friendly or not. Though majority of the places that I have visited in Goa have no issues with kids but then they also cater food for kids or at least offer help.
Hence not a place that I would brag about so much.
Pallav Singhal

Excellent place. Amazing food and soothing ambience. Very polite staff. Home recipe fish is too good. Have to be in to-do list of Goa. Strongly recommended 👍🏻

It is a must when in Goa for us to go to House of Lloyds and we are never disappointed ! Amazing food and great welcome by the team always. The Chilly Sausages are a delight and the Tenderloin is my favorite

What a super experience, an evening well spent !! From the quality of service to the ambience and food, it really was a five star experience. Our server Rehan was polite, attentive and made the most apt food suggestions. Our starter was beef slices - delicious and melted in the mouth. We had red snapper - ridiculously good sauce made by Chef Llyod, sorbotel and sausage pulao - both the best we've ever had at a restaurant in Goa. Even though we were stuffed we decided to try the homemade bread pudding - absolutely worth the extra calories - so good, took me back to the bread pudding my mum makes for me 💖 The only issue were mosquitoes, being an outdoor restaurant, but that was quickly dealt with by Rehan thanks to a mosquito repellent. The DJ played his part too with a great playlist from the 70's, 80's & 90's.

It's a long drive from the mains but totally worth it. Decent ambience and great food. The dj is great, makes you say from retro to contemporary music. I had the rum Prawns and steamed mustard snapper. Both were great. The steamed fish came wrapped in banana leaf and covered in an aromatic layer of mustard and mushroom. Usually it is had with sautéed veggies but I requested for some Goan rice and it went just perfectly well with the flavor. Highly recommend House of Lloyds if you are a foodie and in Goa. As for me, I need to go back and try some more stuff there!

Such a great place. Had been there for a get together and it was so well maintained . The staff was excellent and the food was great. The dj was playing music according to our taste. Lovely place

This restaurant is literally in the middle of nowhere but the food kind of makes up for the journey.. a sort of a fine dining place, this restaurant is everything the reviews say it to be...
My wife and I had the Lebanese Beef Skewers (5/5), Crab with Ricotta Cheese (5/5), Barbecued Fish (3/5) and the Barbecued Chicken (4/5)...
A bit of a costly affair but totally worth it..

Great food and amazing cocktails! Friendly hosts and great service.

One quick thing - Often there could be large groups which tend to be noisy. So book a quite table in advance for a romantic evening :)

I wish there was an option for 0 stars. So we went here for dinner. I ordered prawns. Ok my 3rd piece there was a strand of hair that came into my mouth. On approaching the staff member Sanket, instead of apologising or finding a solution he straight says to me that my chef doesn't have long hair so it's not from us. And that we have long hair. He argued with us. I asked him to cal me the chef. The chef and the owner delyod also argued with us and said I have short hair and it's not from his kitchen. He refused to take our complaint and kept arguing and fighting until I lost it and shouted back. Eventually we had to leave hungry with a very very sour experience. Such. As attitude and arrogance. Never ever going back. Disgusting.

Rating : Avoid.

Did not like anything about this place. Pathetic to say the least. One of least VFM places I have been to. Waiters don't care.. food is bad, quantity is less, not sure for what reasons HOL is hyped up.. I couldn't find any USP.

This Place Rocks, You get awesome food, went there for dinner last night, the lemon mustard Shrimps where Awesome, and the roast pork was also really good, and the pomfret there were really tasty, the white sauce chicken spaghetti was ok not too bad though, coming to the dish of the Night the pork ribs the best pork ribs I've ever had, altogether a very good place. :D :) :-)
Best Regards
Aarihant Malliah

Went here for dinner with family , being one of the iconic seafood places run by a Goan himself. Firstly the service is truly fabulous. Our server really had his A game on , perfect recommendations with cocktails and he helped up choose our mains perfectly. The bimbli magaritas, the tamarind magaritas, the loyd special with jalepeno, the kokam mojito everything was fabulous. Coming to the starters we ordered the feta bake which was ok. The prawns lemon mustard was good, well cooked and flavourful. The vegetables chilly basil had honey chilly sauce which often has fish sauce so I wonder if that was really homemade. The hummus pita was nice . We ordered a lobster thermador , crab butter garlic, chicken xacuti, crab xacuti for mains . The lobster was yummy , the xacuti wasn't as great as I'd imagined for my taste. The crab butter garlic was delicious. For dessert we ordered gelato coffee, banana peanut, Belgian chocolate and they were all great ! Overall a good seafood joint with a relaxed vibe , pleasant music and very very good service !

The fish is fantastic especially the Goan masala fish. The tiger prawns are average and the vegetarian food is sad. The ambience is okay. Not sure if I would come there again for the price. The device however is excellent.

Lloyds, one of the finest person I have ever met. He is the heart of this place and Nerrisa my god you are the soul. Together they present to us House of Lloyds. If you are in Goa and in North by any chance do not forget to visit this place. Its based in quite village called Saipem near Candolim. The Restaurant is spread outside his some hundred year old Portugese House in the backdrop.
The things to not miss are many but the must haves are the specially curated cocktails by Lloyds. He started the tredn of Fresh Fruit Cocktails in Goa and trust me he knows what he is doing out there.
If you are done with drinks then must try is Pork Chops and anything in Barbeque. And ofcourse your having from the barbeque king of Goa. (he is awarded that btw)
Spend some good time with friends and family and have a amazing time at this nice quite away from the chaotic goa which we all hate now.
Do not miss to meet Nerrisa and Lloyd even if they are busy insist and trust me you will hae a amazing time toghether at house of Lloyds. C u soon there.
Finally before i forget, do not miss the home made Bebinca with ice cream because you can't dies before having it.
For locals its a wonderfull place to go every weekend and for tourist definetly every day of your trip.
Cheers.

I've been to this restaurant before and and have always had great meals. The dinner today, however, was so excellent...that for once I wasn't lazy enough to procrastinate a review.

For starters, we ordered a fish masala rawa fry with reachaido, which never fails to deliver. And the wonderful ricotta stuffed crabs. The best starter was the king prawns in a white wine sauce, which I've never tried before and may be new. It was light and flavourful and garlicky...and came with delicious soft and crispy garlic bread which we dunked into the broth. Heaven.

There were only two of us, so our mains were a parmesan baked red snapper and the famous barbecued pork chops. There is a reason they are famous. The barbecue sauce was thick and sticky and packed a punch. The chops were soft on the inside, crispy on the inside and falling off the bone.

My niece had a passionfruit cocktail with fresh fruit and said it was great. And the service was superb.

What more can i ask for on a Tuesday evening...

This is a Goa must-do.

Average food. Wants to be a fine dining experience but is an overpriced Bistro at best! The service is attentive but they failed to mention that their card machine was not working. We were casually informed about this when we gave them the credit card for payment. It was a good thing we had cash, else it would have been an awkward situation for us. So overall not a great experience, dining or otherwise!

My visit to House or Lloyds was by pure chance as a friend of mine decided to take a detour and we stopped to have an early evening snack.

The venue is indeed a house with the courtyard converted to dining area. As they were just opening up for the evening we were the first to arrive.

We ordered ourselves a round of drinks and had a look at their menu. Since it was early we settled for a Sorpotel, Mushroom Soup and Garlic Poee. Now Poee was very new to me and I asked my friend how it would be and all he had to say was - you have to try it to know it.

The Garlic Poee came first and it was a sight to behold. Warm pockets of bread cut up with garlic pieces sautéed in butter drizzled all over them. We were sceptical at first at the flavours were strong but boy we polished off the plate in no time. We ordered another for the Sorpotel and Soup.

The soup was full of flavour and creamy and went well with the bread and Sorpotel was just right in flavour and spices. We loved the Poee so much we took home a portion too!

One of the legendary eats in Goa so would definitely recommend this place for friends and foe alike.

#whenhungerstrikes

Just Awesome!!! Never eaten better food in Goa. The food is to die for. The Green curry with rice is too good, it is super spicy. The Cottage cheese with basil is also brilliant. The cocktails and mocktails are fantastic. All the food that was served was fresh. The service was very good. Definitely a must go when in Goa.

I have been going to Lloyds since it was a hole in the wall in candolim. I remeber llyod grilling fish right there on the side while we all went nuts over the brilliant food.
I was so disappointed with the meal at his new restaurant. The waiter was a snarky indian guy with an accent he picked up from god knows where! We ordered prawns for starters... the signature pork chops and the king fish grilled. Except for the kingfish... everything else came out raw and we had to send it back .. even after that the flavours were exceptionally mediocre. The fish was ok and we managed to go through a portion of it. We even ordered a goan sausage pulao after the painful process hoping at least that would justify the crazy expensive meal and compliment our wine bottle ... the pulao came out with NO MEAT. We sent it back as well!!! The chef replenished it with some meat and sent it to us but by then we were thoroughly put off.
Sad to say House of Lloyds has lost its flavour.
We paid 6500 for two people and literally wasted everything but the wine.

I went to this place in the month on july and hd pork chops... wonderfully cooked, had pork vandalu ... again delicious. In desserts they have coffee flavored brownie with liquid chocolate inside and ice cream... uffff... its sooooo tempting... i am planning a trip in nov. 2016 thanks giving.. and no matter what i am going there.. i visited there twice within 3 days of trip to goa... Thanks to House of Lloyds for such a delicious food!!! See you soon!!! :)

Fantastic food with an even better ambience. What more can you ask for in Goa. Authentic Goan food cooked by the fantastic chef Lloyd... Everything from starters to deserts are fantastic. Highly recommend the steak, the prawn curry and rice and the espresso fudge brownie with ice cream. Loved every moment of the dinner... Worth every rupee spent !

Went through various reviews and was not so sure of going beacuse of some ofd the mark reviews. But then landed here as i was staying at lemon tree which was close. I nuat say one of the finest meals for ages. Now trust me with this. I am in this business and i may know a vee bit more than others ..not much but a little more. Its fanstatic. Chef lloyd and hia team rocks. Stuffed crab with ricotta cheese is organsmic. The pork chops will give you another orgasm. Good wine selections. Llyods mom makes the goan side. So tried yhe home made goan breads and also the beef chilly fry. Subtle and outstanding. So defenitely go.. many reviewers have said its not a great place for vegeterians..dont eat then..its not a veg place. No panner butter masala here no butter chicken here. Sopleassee. Dont spoil a restauarant name just because you dont get vegeterian and some food from yhe world you come from. Soak into local food and enjoy. Ambience is awesome. Subtle yet classy. Some have said its expensive. Two of us along with a bottle of wine and 2 orgasm costed 5k ..i think its good and its value for money for me..

The xagoti gravy was superb.. so was grilled chicken... vegetables in green gravy had a distinct mint flavour... the goan dessert bibinca is worth a try... The chocolate fudge can be missed though.... Cocktails were standard...

I happened to visit this place during the off season in goa (August) situated a bit interior in Candolim, this place was worth every single penny spent. The ambience is extremely good with a Dj playing all nice latest tracks, service was quick and fast.
FOOD - 5/5. I happened to order sardine fry, seafood pasta, Goan fish curry and crembrule. They were out of the works. It's definite place to visit if you're looking for a super romantic calm place around goa unlike all those common loud music shacks. House of llyods - Extremely impressed

House of Lloyds is one of the places in Goa know to have the finest beef steak and pork chops. Located in the calm lanes of Nerul (very close to Candolim), it also has a well stocked bar and a great place to dine at (old Portuguese home). Feels like you're invited for a big party at someones home. With a wide spread in their menu the service too is very impressive. It carries the tag of a fine diner with a cool and simple attitude. Comfortable and casual. No wonder a place which used to be a small stall has turned into one of the finest diners in Goa. For all those who are deprived of good beef in their state, must try this place for sure. The owner, Lloyd himself is a warm host and an excellent chef. Food: 3.5/5. Ambience: 4.5/5. Service: 4/5. Overall rating: 4/5.

This is a lovely place situated in the garden of a beautiful Portuguese off the main Candolim stretch.

To our surprise, when we went for lunch in December and it was quite empty!

Sadly no calamari was available - my son's fav seafood. Shrimp had to suffice for him.

We had steak and pork spare ribs here with some amazing cocktails - chili flavoured Mojito included.

I'd heard a lot about this resturant and I'm glad to visited - the location in a garden is quite lovely and honestly that's the main USP as I see it.

The service was good and everything we ate was good

A totally Over Hyped Over priced and not so worth Restaurant. Me and my cousins went there tonite with high expectation seeing the online rating of Zomato and we indeed up in this shitty shitty place. Looks a like a haunted place with dirty washroom facilities during the night time. We were super disappointed with the food and the service. They weren't happy serving we Indians and even the waiters were trying to put up an fake unwanted accent. In so many years of eating in goa this was the saddest experience of my wife me and our cousins. If u r looking for good goan food and some local flavours this is just not the place. Would never ever suggest or recommend anyone. The reason i am giving 1.0 is for the Dj and his songs.

Honestly, I heard about this place from a friend. Went there to check it out and it definitely didn't disappoint. The quality of food and ambience just makes this place a must visit. Easily located and decent amount of parking makes it a great pick.

- Easy to locate, very knowledgeable staff, good food. The only con is the serving sizes of the appetizers, I'm particular the BBQ shrimp (not the mains).
There's parking for a few cars by the road outside, and a short path leads to the restaurant set in the garden of a large Portuguese house. The music was slightly loud but the receptive staff took care of it. Brownie points for the Triumph Street Triple parked inside!
The appetizers arrived soon enough, 10 minutes. The shrimp is cooked to perfection at HoL, the flavors seeped right through the meat and in general, all meats were tender and fell off the bone. Loved the BBQ shrimp with pesto as well as the chicken wings, the only beef I'd have is that Rs 450 for five small pesto prawns is robbery, even though the dish itself almost made up for it.
In the mains, be sure to order the pork chops, their most popular dish, and cut through the fat with a glass of Sangria! All the mains portions are enough for one person.
Their ratatouille is a gravy, and we were expecting the traditional dry style, not sure if they've mentioned it on the menu but keep this in mind. It was unexceptional. The stuffed and BBQ chicken were good but if you aren't going there again, order their signature dishes instead.
So be sure to have the pork chops, any shrimp because they cook them very well, lobster thermidor, stuffed crab or their specials for the day. The staff will take care of you x

A little late with the review since i was here last Christmas and putting in my two cents worth on Zomato has somehow always skipped my mind. Nevertheless, if i had to had to summarise my time here in one single word, I would, but only if i knew of a word which could justify all the good things about this place.

Located in Candolim but nicely tucked away from the urban rush of cars, two wheelers, tourists, it sort of is an anti-thesis of how you'd imagine Candolim and Calangute to be like. Peaceful and serene, the whole compound engulfs you into its cocoon of a chill goan vibe. And this isn't even the best part.

My sole aim there was to try their barbecued pork ribs, which should probably go into the bucket list of every meat eater visiting Goa. The quality of the meat (pork), the degree to which it was cooked, the sides were all on point, faultless, but the barbecue sauce was a god dream, it was divine. I honestly hadn't eaten anything with so much flavour and life before, nothing in my tiny culinary experience has come close. With a little push from the hostess, i let go of the cutlery and went in full monty - aka D Day for my tastebuds. I literally couldn't stop eating it even after i was more than full because it tasted so damn good; so satiating i could've kept at it forever.

I frankly don't remember much about the other dishes that were ordered, mind you this is not a slight on them, but do vividly remember the veg risotto becoming an instant favourite even amongst the hardcore meat eaters.

I should stop blabbering now and would just end this with saying, House of Lloyds - thank you for your hospitality, for putting food on our tables and thank you for existing.

We have heard so much about the House of Lloyds. When we went there it was empty. We thought it was because it was the last weekend of the season, so to speak. The music (there's a DJ) was like that of a night club. Not to my liking, but that's a personal choice. Everything can be forgiven with good food and alcohol. Sadly, other than one drink (jalapeno grapes cocktail) and a starter (beef chiily fry) everything else disappointed. The vegetables served with the steak were, in fact, stale.

Perfect place for a chilled out evening with your friends or just a romantic dinner.

We were about 8 adults with 3 children and house of Lloyds hosted us perectly.

The food is great. Stuffed crab with ricotta cheese and white wine braising was absolutely exquisite.
Lloyd, who is the owner and mans the bar himself is a whiz custom making cocktails for your taste preference. The house DJ mad sure that the music was in sync with the moods of the evening and made the dinner very enjoyable.

I visited here for lunch for the very first time. When I reached I was the only one for lunch. So I was a bit skeptical. Although it was recommended by a few Friends. But this place exceeded my expectations. Brilliant food. They have the best mocktails ever. I had this white chocolate peach drink. Simply outstanding. And also the Avacado mango salad was amazing.

It's a great place to eat at. It's pretty costly by Goan standards. The steak cost about 800 bucks. It was brilliant no doubt, but I've had almost as good steaks for 250 or 300. It had one of the best crusts I've had- not overly peppery but sufficiently charred. The sauce was slightly tangy and beautifully flavored.
My buddy ordered the barbecue fish, which was pretty good as well.
The vegetables that came along with the fish and steak were crunchy and yumm. The mashed potato though was dry and not creamy enough.
House of Lloyds is a must-try.
First things first, it's a 2 kilometer drive from the main fort-Aguada road and the road seems shady at night.
When we reached there, it took us a couple of minutes to realize we had reached, as it's an old-Portuguese house per say. The staff helped us with parking and they were very sweet throughout.
If you're into Coldplay and maroon5, and dim lighting and flavorful food, this place is going to win your heart.
Sitting in that garden was a delight, we wanted to eat light so we, a group of four ordered mango avocado salad, paneer green curry, chicken green curry, garlic poi and rice.

The salad was fresh and had a light dressing, the juicy mango complemented the crunchy lettuce.

Paneer/Chicken green curry:
This bold spicy curry is worth a try, the flavour is difficult to describe, it had the consistency of palak paneer but didn't taste creamy at all.
The rice and the garlic poi perfectly complemented our curry, the garlic poi was soft and flavorful .
Also, this is one of the very few restaurants which is open till 12:30 am around the area. I would strongly recommend this place.

Visited HOL for dinner on a Saturday. The place was empty, we were the only ones. The place is a bit far from the main Candolim market / road. It's a easy 10 minute drive by car from Lemon Tree Hotel. Nice ambience, non air conditioned. Ordered Pork Vindaloo which was ok. But the Fish Fillet Rawa Masala was excellent. Well cooked and very well presented. I felt the portion was a bit small. This place is expensive relative to other good joints like Tuscany Garden and Wok N Roll. Overall a nice place worth a visit if u have time and u have already tried the Tuscany Gardens and Wok N Roll.

When me and my husband were riding to this place, I wasn't sure if one existed so further inside. Seeing this place was nothing less than a pleasant surprise.
They played soft music attuned to my liking, served the most delicious cocktails and the food was finger lickin' good!

Just had an early dinner at this lovely little place we came across on our way to the movies last week. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the ambience is lovely. Loved the cheese quesadillas and the chocolate fudge with icecream. Will be definitely revisiting soon.

House of Lloyd is located at candolim pilerne road hardly1- 2 kms from main candolim. It is actually a house lawn which is turned into a restaurant. Once I entered this place it made me felt like I have entered some Portuguese bungalow with beautiful lawn its laid back stile Goan restaurant which gives awsm feeling.

As per Zomato reviews I ordered mocktails strawberry dark chocolate and passion fruit both turned to be mesmerising drinks I tell you no one can beat there these to drinks.

In food we orders there famous grilled chicken, pasta, mustered steamed fish, pork chops,Goan red curry which were all good but actually the legendary ambience mocktails is something which will take me back to this place again and again. I am back in delhi and I already have started missing that passion fruit drink which was made from real passion fruit and it's crush seeds.a must go place for totally different experience.

Always have had a really good time at house of lloyds! I can say one of the best cocktails I've had in goa - the strawberry and dark chocolate cocktail is definitely a must try. Also to top it up they have yummy food - stuffed crabs are melt in the mouth!! We ordered the fish fillet that was to die for!! If ure visiting goa this place is definitely one for the bucket list!

This place is the place that started my affair with cocktails, to be more specific it is jalapeño margarita. Since the day, the owner of this place introduced me to this cocktail, I have been in love this place. I have to visit it at least once in 2 to 3 months. The ambience, the food and the service is excellent at this place. My favourites over here are jalapeño margarita, hummus, rum and lemon prawns, cheese quesadilla, grilled chicken Barbeque and stuffed chicken breast in blue cheese. The only negative I find at this place is that the portions are less and it is a bit too expensive. This place is not a value for money place, but u got to visit this place for its cocktails and food. Both of which are sumptuous for sure.
Suprada Gurrala Alvares
This is one of the best places in Goa for cocktails. A variety of them and each one better than the other. My favourite is the strawberry and dark chocolate one. The food is good as well. Amazing cheese quesadillas with salsa sauce and yummy rum and lemon prawns. In the main course I love the grilled chicken and the stuffed chicken breast with blue cheese. Cooked very well. They have lots more to offer in seafood and other meats. In the desserts, I've had the best bread pudding here. Lovely ambience amongst the Portuguese house and Lloyd is fun to talk to and an amazing host. We've never had a bad experience here. The place is a bit pricey but worth a try.

This place has it all - Awesome service, very knowledgable servers and mind boggling signature dishes.I started off with Rum and Lime prawns while wifey being a veggie had humus and pita bread. The prawns were juicy and succulent and the rum rocked it. The Fig with Mint Vodka based cocktail went along very well. For the main course had their amazing pork spare ribs. It was maybe the juiciest ribs I had ever had. Wifey had a veg curry and rice and it was lip smacking too. In sum a place worth pencilling in every visit.

So famous for what??? Except A range of innovative cocktails this place sucks. Expensive like anything. Terrible staff. Egoistic owner. Average food. Lobster was bad, fish curry terrible, Tandoori fish was good but Paneer green masala was outstanding. The vibe of the place is a downer.
For 2 kids and 4 adults the bill was 16k.. When I give my card the waiter says that the machine is not working. Who carries this type of cash in Goa. The owner comes and just casually shrugs his shoulders and tells us to send one person to get the cash and meanwhile vacate the table...
Don't think I will visit again ever!!
9/5/16- I change my views completely!! Sorry for the earlier review but maybe that was the wrong day. Off season time. Peaceful place. Sat for almost 4 hours and between the 2 of us we tried all the Margaritas on offer. No doubt Jalapeño was the best.
Has the stuffed crab with Ricotta cheese. Each bite was full of flavours and juicy. Absolutely outstanding
Parmesan crusted Red Snapper with Malibu sauce was great. Loved the fresh made Malibu sauce.
The lamb Sheekh was good too.
Expensive but must visit place!!
26/6/2016 visited with my kid and his friends. They had some 6 sangria pitchers and I my vodka. The Barbecue pork ribs were amazing. Superb tender and juicy meat. The paneer starter was ok. Stuffed crabs with ricotta cheese was great but the cheese was diff than last time and also the size was almost half of last. Veg Xacuti with rice was nice.
Steamed Mustard Res snapper was quite bad and bland. Sauce was terrible. Total no no.. Of course an expensive place

The marriage of great service, delicious bites, intimate settings and some good old Rock n roll! Found behind the Candolim church, house of lloyd's exudes a certain type of Goan warmth fuelled by hearty food and warm smiles at the door. We were greeted by prompt service and some great recommendations such as the chili sausage with poi, the Whiskey Sin and the Watermelon Jalapeño cocktail. A place popular with both the locals and tourists, house of lloyds beckons you to the dancefloor with some great tunes from Michael Jackson, CCR and Dire Straits. A must visit when you head out in Goa, they do accept credit cards and do provide parking.

Had a wonderful lunch at this quiet place. The drinks we ordered were amazing (try the watermelon n jalapeno margarita or the watermelon mojito).. The food was homecooked and absolutely fantadtic. Pork chops are a must try. Beef chilli was pretty good too.. This place is def topping my list of awesome food in Goa
