I pulled over for a late afternoon meal after visiting the Agauda Fort. This small restaurant is run by a single guy and was empty when we walked in.
The fish thali (steamed rice, vegetable curry, fish curry and fish fry) was served hot and tasted great - one of the best fish thalis I had in the recent times. The guy is friendly and was asking us if we wanted more rice and curry.
The food is priced right and this one is easily a pocket friendly place. I'm happy that I stumbled upon this small restaurant by accident.

In a quest for good seafood thalies that began with the awesome Copperleaf but which had been futile since, I popped in at this unassuming little place which advertised a Rs. 80 prawn thali. The meal was just a portion of a dry prawn chili fry and a large bowl of fish curry with rotis and rice - quite appropriate for the price - but it was entirely delicious. As a gustatory experience far above the flashier and unappetizingly loud neighboring places that line Fort Aguada road in Candolim. It was also very pleasant to talk with Surjit who runs the place and cooks and serves and watches the Discovery channel, in what seems to be a one man show, at least in the late afternoons when I stopped in. The beer and whiskey is unbelievably cheap as well.. So glad to have found the place.
