Review Kokum Curry - Candolim

SUN MOON
One of the finest place in North Goa to have the authentic goan food specially offering an authentic Goan thali and a variety of Goan dishes.. The sea food is very fresh and each dish is unique and flavorful. You can taste the coastal flavours here and Service is excellent! This is perfect place if you wants to experience kokani / goan food.. Totally loved each and everything that we ordered - The Goan thali is a feast with a variety of dry seafood dishes, two fish curries, fried fish…. Be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak lunch/dinner hours – a testament to its popularity! When I tasted the food, it was worth all the wait. Very delicious.. Just one word-perfection! 🤌🏼 Located at Candoilm main road, The place is clean with a lively ambiance. Quite affordable with a quite friendly staff, a cozy and cute interior with foods that will be a treat to your taste buds. The drinks and the food both were quite good. Overall 10/10 for me -

This place offers a great variety of traditional Konkan and Goan cuisine that is lip-smacking delicious with authentic flavours. The staff is courteous and friendly and their service was fast. We tried Goan Special Fish Thali & Veg Thali which had all the Goan delicacies. I would highly recommend this place for Lunch or Dinner options if you are in Candoilm, North Goa Must try.. One of the best place to get authentic meals! Service is also excellent. Overall is a must visit place if you have patience to wait 30-45 mins to get delicious food! Must try here the fish thali, all fish & prawns dishes it's completely authentic goan style.

One of nicest and must visit!! We got recommended to this place by our good friend, Gopal Shanbhag.. We weren't disappointed at all.. Though the referred cook was off her normal hours, the food that came recommended by the Steward was simply authentic Goan!! Price too nothing that digs deep like Mickey's and taste of the real Goan cuisine is this!! We thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend!!

Very good vibes and the restaurant owner comes to everyone and asks for feedback. Very positive experience with all the staff. Food is to die for. Not expensive and a very good portion is served. Quantity of food is very good.

I was thoroughly impressed by the authenticity of their Goan cuisine. The culinary experience was elevated by a delightful variety of thali flavors, showcasing the richness and diversity of Goan food. The attentive service added to the overall charm, creating a seamless and enjoyable dining atmosphere. Moreover, the restaurant's pleasant ambiance and well-maintained, clean bathrooms contributed to a sense of hygiene and comfort, enhancing the overall dining experience. Kokum Restaurant truly stands out for its commitment to providing not just flavorsome dishes but also a welcoming environment for patrons.

It's a hidden gem. I got to know this place in my last day of visit. Best non-veg thali. Very tasty food. Must try Prawns Masala fry & chonak fry. I feel Price of Prawns is bit high.

Head here if you are looking for authentic Goan cuisine in the otherwise western and European restaurant laden famous Fort Aguada Street that's the famous place to go to in Candolim. The service is fast and warm, the food quite authentic Goan. Just that there's no air conditioned sitting area so it may get a little hot during the day hours.

I have been to Goa four times and I must say that this was the best fish thali I ate. However, if you are visiting the place during peak hours, be prepared to wait for 30 minutes or more for thali. The best time is to go after 3:30 and before 4 PM when you can get thali in just 10 minutes.

This is one of the best restaurants in Goa. If you are looking for authentic goan cuisine, look no further. This is the place. The ambiance is awesome and the staff is very polite and courteous. Food here is prepared with the right amount of spice and is very tasty. Everything is prepared so fresh. Loved it!!! We had ordered for masala squid fry, masala prawn fry, stuffed crabs, tandalachi bhakri, kelyache phodis (banana fritters), kingfish thali, sol kadi etc. Totally recommeded!!!

The fish thalis were a delightful array of colours and local flavours. The upstairs location, surrounded by plants, was the perfect setting for a quiet evening meal after a big day at the beach.

This restaurant gave my family the most amazing dinning experience after a particularly disappointing experience with another eatery that night. Their hospitable waiters were helpful and swift in service. The food was ABSOLUTELY delicious, and extremely well priced for the quantity and quality provided. We devoured our special fish Thalis (the best we’ve ever had) and the banana chip starter. In the end we were so pleased with Kokum Curry that we had to take some Bombil fry back to our hotel!

When in Goa a goan thali is a must. I love how every element of Goan food is found in these thali's from kismur to clam sukke to fish curry to sol kadhi is packed with Goan food. I found the food in kokum curry pretty good, the important thing was that they let us share this huge thali which otherwise would have been impossible to finish.

This is a must try place in Candolim. The best of foods is served here. Visited this place after I watch Kunal Vijaykar's youtube episode. The place & food is just another level. The service is a little slow, but I'll let that go since they served such great food. Kokum Mojito - was top notch. They had nirphonos(breadfruit) available, which is rare in restaurants! It was super fresh & yummy. Charged at only Rs 200 is a steal deal! Bombil rawa fry - super fresh & crispy. Melts in the mouth. Since we werent too hungry to try a whole meal, we ordered the bharli vangi with bhakris. OH MY! This was the highlight of everything else we ate there.. It was so flavorsome & delectable. The staff was polite..

We came to know about kokum curry through the show khane mai kya hai and decided to visit it on our stay in Goa. Luckily, the restaurant was not too far from where we stayed in Arpora. The spread is impressive with a lot of traditional dishes. It is like a revival of long forgotten dishes which I had eaten as a child (Shirvalya/ Shirvelo). They have good veg options too. We were a group of 10 people so had ordered almost everything from butter prawns to bombil rava fry, bharlela bangda, prawn’s rice, red masala prawns, bharleli vaangi and bhakri, mussels, squid and much more . The quality of the food is amazing and the taste is great too. My fav was the spicy red prawn masala. A must visit place, highly recommended. Note: entry to the restaurant is through a Series of stairs, I am not sure if they have an elevator so if you have elderly or someone who needs wheelchair assistance it might be a difficult situation, perhaps you may call the restaurant and they may have some alternative.

Place is very close to the road. Easily assessable. Cosy place though no AC. All attendants are smiling and helpful. Special mention to Chef Anjali. Took personal care in our order. I do not eat fish with relish. She convinced me in tasting Tisre, my wife's favorite. I was apprehensive initially but when I tasted it it was just blissful!! The surmai was excellent. The food was extremely tasty just like home food. Thank you Chef Anjali you made our day. Also thank Mr Kunal Vijaykar for bring us here through his blog "Khaane mein Kya Hai" Please try their Kela wafers whilst you are sipping a chilled beer.
