Review Mainland China - Chandigarh

Vikram Sandhu
What a fine dine when you are in mood of Chinese or Thai food. Been here twice in a month now, on different days of the week, so can comment on the service, quality, quantity. Weekend dinners are usually crowded so would recommend you to make a reservation before you go. When I went on a Friday evening, people were waiting. I had made the reservation from the google "reserve a table" option. Talking about the service part: It's exceptional. Food was served quickly, staff was quick to change plates between starters and main course and staff was there to serve each dish and welcomed every feedback. Talking about quality, the dishes I have tried chicken dishes only. Fresh and juicy chicken. Unable to remember the dishes by name. Will update the review next time I visit. Quantity: For two people you can feel satisfied with one starter, one main course dish (chicken + Noodles of your choice). Price point: Without drinks, We got a bill of 900 for two people which I would say is pretty affordable.

Mainland China is my go to place for Chinese cuisine in Tricity. They serve spectacular Chinese food at affordable prices. The ambiance of the place is very welcoming and the staff is friendly and attentive. The seating arrangements are comfortable and spacious, providing privacy for each table. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained. The "Ginger Pineapple mocktail" was refreshing and had a perfect blend of ginger and pineapple flavors. The "Eight Treasure Chicken soup" was flavorful and had generous portions of chicken and vegetables. The " Basil Flavored Vegetables dimsums" were steaming hot, delicious, and had a perfect blend of spices and herbs. The highlight of the meal was the "Mango pudding" , which was creamy and had the perfect amount of sweetness. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Overall, Mainland China is a must-visit restaurant for anyone who loves Chinese cuisine. The quality of the food, the ambiance, and the service make it a great dining experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy delicious Chinese food in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

After placing the regional food of Calcutta on the Culinary map of India, Oh! Calcutta made its way to the gourmet city of Chandigarh. The restaurant is located in the same building of Mainland China in Sector 26, Chandigarh. While the different flavours of other regions of India were always present in some form or the other throughout the country, it was the vision of Chef-turned-leading Indian restaurateur Anjan Chatterjee, who strongly believed that the unique flavours of a 300-year-old cuisine needed to be explored. I visited them a few days ago to try out some of their specialities. The best part was the usage of authentic, sourced ingredients from West Bengal. I started off my lunch with their Banana Floret Tikki, Prawn Cutlet and Calcutta mustard paneer tikka. All the items were top notch. My personal pick had to be their Prawn cutlet. The patty was super flavourful and juicy. Next up, for mains, I had their Slow cooked Bhuna mutton, Prawn and coconut malai curry, Kolkata chicken biryani and Mango mustard okra. The mutton was the show stopper of the afternoon. I had never tried such amazing mutton in Chandigarh so far. The spice level was quite moderate and the mutton quality used was spot on. Pair it up with the Luchi or Bengali version of a poori and you will up for a treat certainly. The prawn and coconut malai curry was another glorious dish which had a very nice flavor of the coconut milk and gondhoraj lemon. Highly recommended. The Mango mustard okra was another dish that stood out of the menu. Very interesting taste. To end things on a sweet note, I had their Steamed mango mishti doi and steamed sondesh. My pick had to be their steamed mango mishti doi with chopped mangoes on the top. The tanginess of the doi was evenly cut with the sweetness of the mango. Overall, I would be visiting them over yet again to try out their Mutton and prawn cutlet. Happy eating.

After a good foot and Head massage felt really hungry so found this place nearby in Sector 26. Cool ambience. Welcoming reception. Great host to serve and guide you in choosing the food. Food was really great, tasty and delicious. Good portion sizes. Selection of drinks is good. Bal krishan and Abhi served with a smile and spirit of excellence. Enjoyed our afternoon meal thoroughly.

Chinese Cuisine At It's Best !!!!! Visited Mainland China after years galore. However, the experience was as delightful, as ot was on my first rendevous with this Chinese Hub. Relished a galore of dishes which were all flavoured to the Core. A brief on what all I gulped down :- 1. Jiangs Chilli Chicken - Forget the Jiangs & its your typical Chilli Chicken which is indeed full of flavours & would suit any taste bud. The right spices blended together to make that perfect Chilli Chicken which you would always Crave For. Order this & you wouldn't go wrong with it. 2. Chicken Taipei - Crispy chicken served with crunchy veggies with a peculiar taste. It was great. 3. Fish Pepper Garlic - The fish tasted quite fresh. Extremely delicious. Liked the 3Ts - Texture, Taste & Tender. Awesome dish. 4. Singapore Chilli Prawns - I have the love for Prawns. Tried this one & didn't regret a bit. Super flavours there. Prawns seemed of good quality. Loved them. 5. Chilli Garlic Noodles - Medium Spicy. Not much of chillies & garlic there as I was expecting it to be. This dish could have been better, but it was still decent enough. The portion size was pretty adequate. The two of us had our fill & were still left with loads of food which we had to pack. Overall I must try place to lunch or dine in. Loved it & strongly recommended. Regards

Great food, good ambiance, courteous staff is all u can say about the place. The buffet they serve is with msg and the menu food can be prepared without msg. The food taste is awesome especially the eight treasure soup, star fried rice, dim sums, lettuce wraps, lamb in black pepper sauce and general tso’s chicken. Although the place requires renovation but overall a good experience.

The ambience of Mainland China is mesmerising and it gives totally Asian vibes (well, of course). The food is amazing and worth a try! We had Crab Chicken and Dragon Chilli Fish along with Rice and 2 Noodles and it was sufficient for 5 people. The crab was delicious and so was the Chilli Fish. It was all very spicy just the way we love it! You can ask the dishes to be less spicy as well. The manager was kind to us too and very generous. The washroom was clean and hygienic. There is also a Bar with Live Music in the Basement and we could hear the Singer's voice from where we were seated, on the ground floor. We didn't try the Buffet there but it seemed really beautiful and mouth watering! Pre-booking is preferred there as it's almost always packed! A place to go for Asian food lovers!

Had a lovely dinner at mainland China. Fine dining experience with delicious Chinese cuisine. Chinese tea was also served. For starters I ordered:<br/>Teriyaki chicken& Jiangs Chilly chicken which was delicious and spicy. <br/>Mushroom ginger chilly: was tasty but mushrooms were very tiny<br/>Pan fried Asian chilly fish. Lip smacking! <br/>For mains my choice was chicken in black pepper sauce, double spicy chengdu vegetables & chilli garlic noodles. The noodles were extra spicy with red chillies ! <br/>I also ordered 3 mocktails: mango, watermelon & litchi flavoured mocktail. Very refreshing <br/>And ended the dinner with 2 desserts: chocolate dome with chocolate sauce. Which was delightfully melted in front of me <br/>a sizzling brownie with vanilla Icecream and chocolate sauce. Very enjoyable meal ! The ambience and presentation is quite impressive<br/>For more check out Instagram: akanksha._

Have been dining at this chain since they opened in Kolkata decades back. This branch is no exception. Excellent food. Personal attention. Do try their seafood esp dishes like crab meat soup ,golden fried <br/>prawns. Had buffet here a number of times . They put up a good sample of their dishes. If you really want delectable food go ala carte.

It has to be one of the finest ambiences in any Mainland China that I have seen. You will get a warm welcome and warm feeling as step into this place. It has been on my fav go-to list for a very long time now... the ambience is good and the food is great..!<br/>The staff is courteous and I give them full marks. They never disappoint anytime. I am so regular at this place that some of the people already know what I order. <br/>It kind of cgets crazy towards the weekends with families and groups coming in and the usual punjabi boisterous behaviour takes over. So I rather avoid the weekends as I like to have a quiet meal.<br/>The food is great and being a frequent goer, I do get a feeling that the menu seems limited, but then most of the dishes are my favourites so I don't really care..<br/>I would love to come back again and again...!!
Shivendra Pal Kutlehar
Good food with good flavours. Tender chicken well cooked. <br/>They followed the guidelines with the chefs, packaging guys and delivery boys temperature which is good.

Always dined at the place <br/>Today we ordered home delivery <br/>Baby corn was atrociously soaked in sauce as if it was a day or two old mean <br/>Weird stink of the food.<br/>Very disappointed
Fudge Off
We ordered mainly non veg items and everything was delicious. The flavors amd the tenderness was upto the mark. Their service was especially very good, making our time very enjoyable. The only problem is that its music was bothering us as the acoustic treatment is very bad. But still its worth a go.

I had an option of giving 0 star, I would have happily given it to them. Yesterday I had ordered from The above mentioned outlet. My entire family got Food Poisoning. Apparently the meat they use was very old and did not agree with our stomachs. I would suggest you not to order food from Mainland China because they serve old food which will affect your health. Also when I called them and spoke to the manager, he was way too arrogant to accept his mistake. My strongest recommendation that DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE. They aren’t cooking the food items properly and serving stale food.

Nice Place. Great Variety for non vegetarians also. Great place to enjoy in the company of friends. But then Corona came in😞.

Good food n ambience, Service is also nice

A place serves you with variety of Chinese food in one plate😍 An affordable buffet with exciting food😋 I had opted for non veg buffet; there were 6-7 starters. Most favorite of mine from starters were dumplings and chicken wings dipped in Chinese sauce. In main course I loved the noodles and the veg dumpling dipped in sauce gravy. Everything was just sooo tempting. Must visit 🌸. Mainland China Mainland China

An absolutely amazing experience. If you like authentic Chinese, then there is no better option in Chandigarh. Their buffet is an absolute value for money.

Nitin Parbhakar
One of the poorest chinese I ever had. This place calls themselves as Authentic chinese and claiming to serve around 30 dishes in buffet deserve way less than 1 star. No taste at all in any dish. No options for vegeterians at all. Overall poorest chinese I ever had
Chandrima Naskar
great place to have either buffet or a la carte.. almost everything tastes good, so don't need to worry too much about ordering. the drinks are pretty good and affordable..and the cherry on the cake is the lady who sings magically every evening. all in all, a very fulfilling experience
Aarzoo Sharma
The food was stale and had a terrible stink. The bao used were not fresh and chicken also tasted bad. Had been a huge fan of their food, but highly disappointed with the food this time.
Kunal Gupta
Certainly the best Chinese food ever. <br/>But I would also recommend the LIIT; better than most bars. And if you really are in the mood to try something then mix the LIIT with the bloody mary. I like to call it BLOOD ICED TEA😜😜😜.
Sabine Soudant
We loved the singer, the food, and the service. Bravo!<br/>Will definitely come back and tell our friends.

I loved my duck rolls and dimsums....... everything was wonderfully cooked and served.....much recommended always!

I have never been fond of Chinese food per se and it was only couple of days ago that I have tried Mainland China only because it was lunch- time in the Tribunal and Mainland China was right across the road from it. But I was pleasantly surprised. I had no idea that I could like Chinese food, esp. the veg one.<br/><br/>We ordered noodles with the vegetables on the side. The preparation was fresh, the service was prompt and the food quality was just marvelous. The sauce, chutney added a whole new dimension to the meal. The noodles were soft, and just melted while eating.<br/><br/>In the desserts, we ordered Mango pudding, and it just gave a fitting end to the meal something akin to a brilliant end to a story. An upscale restaurant offering both an executive dining experience as well as a semi- formal one, Mainland China is definitely worth exploring. It is a place for those wanting to host a small work engagement as well as enjoy a perfect meal.<br/>
Akshita Giroti
Nice ambience and service. The buffet was disappointing, there was no variety of noodles and rice, just 1 type and that too wasnt tasty. The soup was good.deserts were not upto d mark.

Lovely ambience. Great Good. Good Music and warm staff. Chef Sokesh is truly good at work. Loved it. Thank you to Bipin and the staff.

I placed an order from Mainland China and requested for non spicy food. Thought I would call and make sure they make it non spicy. I tried multiple times and no one answered on phone number on the web. The food sent was extremely spicy - a basic dish like exotic vegetables. If someone has placed an order and requested for non spicy and you cannot make it non spicy you should contact the customer and inform them and offer an alternative and not send extremely spicy food. It was a special occasion dinner that was completely ruined by the spicy food. Very disappointing.

I m big time lover for Chinese food..<br/><br/>Celebrated my mom's birthday here..<br/>Really liked the ambience, the staff, Live music..<br/><br/>Food and drinks were really good.<br/><br/>But according to the prices I felt that the portion size of the dishes were really small.

I have always been a fan for food in Mainland China. I came here and my heart cried out. My expectation was very high and the food was only decent. I was expecting more. Food was good. Staff is polite and comforting. I was having the buffet. The range is good.

From the get go, the restaurant seemed too crowded. Apart from it being a Sunday, the tables were too close to each other, so close that it got difficult to walk and you could hear conversations being held on the table next to yours. Secondly, you can hardly hear the music being played in the restaurant, and more of the music being played downstairs in the bar, add the chatter of people to that and you get yourself a nice mocktail of utter noise. <br/>Coming to the food, the "Chicken Peppery Lemon Soup" was so bad I couldn't drink more than 2 spoons. I kept getting more than necessary lemongrass in my mouth. <br/>In the appetisers, the "Chicken with Assorted Pepper" was good, however the "Oriental Crispy Lamb" tasted like the leftover over-fried home-made pakodas. <br/>For the main course, we had "Chicken in Black Pepper Sauce" with "Wok Tossed Chicken Hakka Noodles". The former was good, but the latter had so much chicken and egg in it, which were so bland, we had to separate them out. <br/>We ordered the "Peachy Magnifera" in mocktails, and for the price, it was not worth it. They serve the drinks in tall thin glasses filled with ice that finish in 2 sips. Moreover, the drinks were brought to us in a tray along with multiple other drinks for other tables, like in marriage palaces. <br/>The cutlery was also bent. For a place of their standard, they should at least serve proper unbent cutlery.<br/>The total bill for the night was 3455, we paid 4000, and the accountant returned 645 to us. Anyone who knows math knows what the problem is, here. Don't worry, we returned the 100.<br/>On a positive note, the staff was very polite and courteous.<br/>All in all, Mainland China has lost it's charm and needs to update. Would not recommend.<br/>Final Rating:<br/>Food: 2/5<br/>Drinks: 2/5<br/>Ambience: 2/5<br/>Service: 4/5

I would rate my experience - 0/5. It was my first visit and i could easily tag it as one of my worst dine in experiences in Chandigarh. Food quality is not up to the mark. We ordered Buffet and it was quite expensive. Staff and service was as bad as it could be. The manager was not attending properly , Had to point him out at least 10 times to get the snacks served hot on the table. Main course and snacks variety is very less According to the price you pay. Neither me nor my family would ever visit this place again. I highly recommend everyone to avoid this place , if you fit any of the following categories:-<br/>1. Want good food ( Let alone the main course dishes , this place is entirely chinese food oriented and they don't even know how to make dumplings. I have never had such a bad experience with dumplings in my entire life)<br/>2. Value for money<br/>3. Worth full dine in experience<br/>I seriously laugh when i remember that i waited for 30 minutes to get a table and that bad experience.<br/><br/>As far as i could remember, This was my worst dine in experience in Chandigarh.<br/>

The mainland China is one of the best buffets in Chandigarh. The service here is quite fast. The starters especially the chat, papdi and golgappas are great. The main course has wide Chinese variety but the sweet dish is just awesome.

Um can u pls tell me price of veg lunch buffet and if there is a birthday if some benefit .....i am not able to find the price tell me on weekend and weekdays both. Are drinks included or they are not

I liked this place from interiors to the food. The service is awesome. I liked the flavours of the Chinese dey serve. Although a bit heavy on pockets. But eventually the taste makes up for everything!

If you love Chinese food+you want to have a fine dining experience this is the place you need. Great food great Ambience<br/>I ordered hakka noodles<br/>Ginger chicken<br/>Pineapple ginger frappe and that was delicious

Absolutely love this place! It's the best place that I know of for Chinese cuisine. The food portions are big and prices are also decent. The restaurant's interior is quite refined. Staff is friendly<br/>

Authentic Chinese food!! My all time favourite. The staff is cordial , the ambience is pleasing! The high light is the panfried fish . The jasmine tea flavour lingers on for the rest of the day! A must visit joint

Food is good but not the best as we had a lot of expectations form this place. Sevice is 5/5. We had 1 veg buffet and and 1 non veg buffet. Veg buffet disappointed me somehow as the dumplings were not upto the mark.overall a good experience and looking forward to visit this place again.

I know when it comes to Chinese, Mainland China can never go wrong. I ordered a chicken dish for home delivery by looking at the online menu which dint mention it was spicy. The dish was extremely spicy and couldn’t be eaten. <br/>This dish in the online menu doesn’t suggest level of spices. I wonder how would the ‘very spicy’ dishes taste.
Sushant
Mainland China, Chandigarh <br/><br/>This is a Oh My God kinda place for your chinese cravings.<br/><br/>Went for dinner and we had a lot from dimsums to starters and the main course.<br/><br/>We were a group of 8 people and was worth a try. The prices are reasonable .<br/><br/>Hospitality / taste / quality everything is a 5 star experience <br/><br/>Unfortunately couldn’t click pictures. Just try them once and you’ll love them. <br/><br/>
Shruti Sharma
Food is good and so is the service.. I have always been a fan of their buffet.. I'd hope for more variety in non alcoholic drinks.. Let there be less variety of flavored drinks and more of authentic ones...
Navjot Kaur Gill
Mainland china happens to be the best place to have oriental chinese but this place was on the rocks this time. I happen to order Chilly Chicken& Veg Hakka Noodles which is a staple& basic food of a chinese restaurant, Chilly chicken seemed boiled chicken sauteed with vegetables and sauces which was a disappointment since you’re paying a good price. <br/>Hakka Noodles were just Okay, Little oily for me though. The ambiance and decor never fails to impress you here.
Ravneet
I ordered 2 things here one hakka noodles ved and second chilli chicken hakka noodles were perfect but as you could see in the pic chilli chicken disnt had any chillis but it was more like boiled chicken in chinese sauce not crispy at all but noodles were fine
Parv
Best and authentic chinese food ever. Though I have never visited China, but it gives the real feel of the chinese food. Variety of dishes and full of authentic flavours. You won't get such a taste anywhere else. The ambiance and customer service is also good. I would give it a four star
Aarti Vij
Best Chinese in the town. Service is really good. A girl sings in the evening that’s really nice unlike other places with so called noisy bands which gives you headache. You can enjoy music and a nice conversation with your friends or family.. their fudge brownie is awesome for dessert.
Deepak Vohra
Order first time from this outlet. But very much impressed with the food quality & taste. Order both veg & non veg but veg dishes better than the non veg in taste. Very different taste from the regular Chinese food.

Lavish spread, exotic food cool ambience , courteous staff situated in my favourite city Chandigarh totally worth the money. I highly highly recommend mainland China<br/><br/>

One of the best places in town to have good authentic food. Every thing is top notch from soups to dim sums to noodles and the desserts are stars💫. Sizzling brownie is my personal fav and a goto. My dates are always at mainland china ♥️♥️

Surely the mostAuthenticChinese in the region , they are a class apart in their food quality & also the staff do everything possible in human capacity to make you feel at home. <br/>Great job guys , keep it up <br/>Cheers

Love going to this place. Their presentation their decor their sitting is just appropriate. Whenever Chinese is in our mind this is the first option. Their serving is pretty good and sufficient.<br/>We tried chilli chicken , chicken lollipop, manchow soup. And in main course garlic chicken noodles, hakka noodles, fried rice with hot and sour sauce. Simply amazing food

Too congested for a group of 4. Tables are too small, they have put 2 extra chairs in the 2's table and make 4 sit there. They prefer to keep bigger tables reserved for someone. Never to visit again.
Shray R. Goswami
The place has very small table. If you are 4 people it's difficult to eat. When i visited along with 3 other they gave me a small 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet table and even though the entire restaurant was empty still they had put reserve on the bigger tables. Ee decided to walk out and not eat in such a place. The manager was indifferent.
Rohan Bahl
First visited mainland on 27th February 2018 and then again visited on 27th February 2019 for dinner. Chose to have buffet. Coming back to this place after a gap of a year but still they haven't lowered their food quality and the price of weekday dinner is fair enough and far higher quality of food in comparison with other buffet offering food and beverage outlets. We asked for a vegetarian chopsuey and they offered us complimentary. Would love to come back.
Anjali Sengar
If you are a Chinese food lover then this place is for you. There buffet option is must have, you will get to taste every thing and also get idea what to order full plate 😉 Food is value for money.
Karan Sehgal
Awesome place to have a nice chinese buffet with family/friends. One of the rarest chinese buffets places. They have maintained alomst the same price for so many years.
Naval Pandey
One of the first prime restaurants in Chandigarh, i have been visiting them for some odd 8 years now. I love their a la carte menu.<br/><br/>The lunch buffet lets you down some times.<br/><br/>Must try- the clay pot fish!!! Yummm
Deepanshu Dhingra
Best chinese food outlet you can find in town. Fantastic food options to choose from and value for money. They even have a buffet option and a must recommend if you are around. I have tried the buffet and order menu both.
Aameekul Singh
My go to for Chinese food! They are the amongst the best Chinese places in town! <br/>Infact the only place that serves delicious lettuce wraps, the good thing is the chef will always agree to customising something for you, even if it’s not on the menu! 👍🏻

Main land China <br/>The best when it comes to Chinese/Oriental cuisine <br/>My favourite since years <br/>The afternoon buffet is worth the price <br/>Like Great Wall of China they too have long way to go. <br/>Zaìjiàn soon main land China.

This is ultimate Chinese food heaven !! <br/>The best option is to opt for the buffet which lets you taste and sample a little but of everything. This has been my go to place for Chinese cravings for a while now and I have always come back home with all my Chinese food cravings satisfied and my belly full and happy .

I relished eating dim-sums, lamb meatballs with steamed rice and noodles, wantons, fish etc. Didn't find prawns to be particularly impressive. Overall the food was quite delicious and the staff was prompt and courteous.

One of the most authentic Chinese food places in Chandigarh. Amazing dumplings you can just sit and eat. A little expensive do but good place to sit and eat with your friends

A-la-carte was awesome... i would give 8/10.. But got disappointment with the food quality at buffet.. staff is very cooperative. But seriously dont go for buffet... never.. spend more n have a-la-carte.. but big no no to buffet... 1/10 to buffet..
Rishabh Bhardwaj
5+ stars for a la carte & ambience. Staff is super courteous well mannered and extremely welcoming. The worst part was the buffet. Cold food and simply no taste. Chinese love and cheap buffet quality doesn't go side by side.
Tanya Thomas Bist
If you are a hardcore Chinese food fan like me then Mainland China is the place to go.. their food is authentically Chinese and their buffet is simply fabulous.. u r spoilt for choice right from the word go.. their starters r scrumptious, mains r great and dessert specially darsan and caramel custard is to die for..(though their pastries were really dry and I would steer clear of them) staff is super courteous, friendly and helpful . Will def visit again
Kartik Pahuja
Chinese food is my first priority ✨😁. If i ever have a craving ti eat Chinese i always visit Mainland China their buffet are the best✨😁 especially the dinner buffet. Food was gud Nd the staff was courteous but the quality of some items was below average to be specific veg dim sum felt lyk some rubber which can’t be dogged into and the variety was also not up to the mark
Rahul Goyal
I have cravings for Chinese food as always ....I ordered main course straight away ....I ordered veg Hakka noodles and exotic vegetables in chilli basil sauce ....it was so delicious ......mainland china is still the best place in Chinese in chd
Natasha
We used to love their eight treasure soup until recently when the amount of veggies in the soup have gone down drastically. That’s crashing expectations after getting them high!! Disappointing.

Food taste very very bad 🤮🤮🤮 <br/>Buffet doesn’t worth <br/>Mainly the have only Oriental buffet<br/> Ambience is very good <br/>But food quality is not good 🤮<br/>Cold food is served <br/>
Puneet Gupta
Watered down flavours & cold food served in buffet. Over the years, this brand's food has downgraded and today was an absolute disaster of a meal.<br/><br/>Though on complaining about cold food being served, staff served hot starters but flavours were definitely off. Any ordinary indo Chinese place would easily serve better food than what they served today.<br/><br/>Highly disappointed!!
Aman Garg
Delicious.. We had noodles there... It was awesome with gravy!! It was nice visit!! I and my friend can't forget the taste of it. Even decoration over the plate was quite interesting!!
Nainika
<br/>This place is very overcrowded . The quality of the food is no more now. I think they should work on the presentation of the food and the taste of the food.<br/>
Gagan Srivastava
If you are a Chinese food lover, then u must visit this restaurant. A lot of variety in main coarse as well as in starters. One request that please also start table booking in weekends also
Vaishali Sunil Ajgaonkar
Today we went there for lunch buffet and the experience was pathetic. Food was stale and lacked flavour . Veg fried rice had no vegetables but golden corn here and there and paneer was so chewy .Non veg stuff was equally unappetizing. Same goes for dessert crispy noodles weren't crispy and pastries lacked the moist.<br/>I felt i am eating at some budget restaurant.<br/>To be honest i was a great fan of this chain . I had tried their lucknow and thane outlets and the food was excellent . Unfortunately i can't say the same thing about the Chandigarh outlet. Totally disappointed.<br/><br/>

Great place, good ambience, excellent service and awesome food.. this sums up Mainland China. Highly recommended for authentic Chinese cuisines.
Kalyani
There is probably nothing about mainland china that has already not been said. Needless to say, authentic chinese is always welcome, however the Indian version of the Chinese food that we are used to having has probably made us more accustomed to spicy dishes.<br/><br/>This is why we did not like the thai dimsums and the basil dimsums as well because probably more used to having mainstream momos(??) Nevertheless, would certainly appreciate if the filling in the dimsums could be less spinachy and more veggie maybe<br/><br/>However, other things are big time favourites, no doubt. The noodles and the sizzling veggies, cottage cheese with sizzling veggies and rice in the edamame sauce along with the hot garlic sauce were on point.<br/><br/>Also, me and my friends really really liked the kimchi salad and the salad along with it. (not just because we were really hungry when we came, but also because it tasted really refreshing :)

Best Place to have oriental Food. Location is perfect at the most happening Block of sector 26.Ambience is also accordingly.<br/>Food quality is awesome. Service is superb.
Nandini Pal
Had the dinner buffet at Mainland China. The food spread was really good and the food quality and the taste were also good. It was a Paisa Vasool deal for us. The service and the courtesy extended by the waiters were also remarkable. <br/><br/>Definitely recommend
Thefood_quest ( Naina - Karman)
Sudden Chinese cravings lead me to this place.<br/>However I wasn't too impressed with the decor..putting that aside we tried the basic hakka noodles, fried rice,Chinese vegetable gravy n honey fried noodles..<br/>Everything was nice but not too good keeping in mind their name!!<br/>
Supneet
Should never plan any special occasion here. They will ruin it. Very disappointing service. At 60% occupancy it took them 45 mins to serve soup and then another 20 mins for appetizers. By the time main course was done we had already spent 2 hours on table. Taste was average and temperature on colder side suggesting they aren’t staffed well enough to serve half the tables.

As they say don’t alter what is Good this place has virtually remained unchanged for past good 7 years; from college times till date. The rates are a bit always something Mainland China doens't give much heave not to the quantity. I wouldn't question the quality of food but does it do justice to the price tag ?? To me , Nope !!

It’s one of the best places to have Dimsums & Chinese. The flavours & texture of dimsums is perfect, and the filling is delicious too. Thai curry is great with their special Fragrant Pot Rice (which smells amazing with star anise).

Okay. I have been to Mainland in every city, I have ever lived in and it's surprising how they maintain a consistency across their outlets; or maybe it is just me thinking that they do. Even on a busy evening, we got our seats pretty quick. We ordered for the Eight Treasure Seafood Soup, Wok Tossed Hakka Noodles and Sizzling Chicken in Chefs Special Sauce. The food was amazing, I highly recommend the soup for someone trying to figure out an appetizer. The service was prompt and ambience peaceful!

Very good location and ambience, good staff and, good variety of food and desserts. Taste is however not that great, heavy use of cornflour in almost everything you eat, thus making you feel full easily and also compromising on the taste. Wish they improve on it to make it a great place to visit.

It was a good experience visiting Mainland China in Chandigarh. The only problem I faced was due to the lack of preparation on the part of restaurant. Many dishes were not available. The ambience was good but it wasn't distinctive, you'll find similar ambience in most nearby restaurants in Sector 26, Chandigarh.<br/>In fact, Mainland China, Chennai has got quite an oriental feel and will score better than this one even on food front.<br/>All in all, it's a good place.

We opted for a buffet<br/>It was cold and it felt as if we went to eat at a wedding where even starters were not served at the table!!<br/>On complaining about the cold and tasteless food to the manager,he laughed and commented on the fact that no one else had a problem with the food!!<br/>Everything from the food to the staff were awful!<br/>It was sheer wastage of money!!

They serve good Chinese food ... I know there are other Chinese restaurants also ... but mainland China is a calming place ...I truly enjoy my food here ... plus they don’t make food unnecessary spicy ... like kylin ( Elante )

Tried Chilli garlic noodles with King Prawns in thai curry. Perfectly balanced Chinese food with authentic flavours and fresh ingredients. Drums of heaven - to die for 😍

So a usual Sunday brunch and we opted for the buffet, took us about 10 mins to get a table as the Sunday rush with a light showery monsoon afternoon was seemingly crowding the place.<br/><br/>The service for starters was on the table itself and it did feel fresh.<br/><br/>Veg spring roll was decent but was very ordinary. The next we were served chicken dumplings which were no doubt made to perfection. There were three chicken starters which were very similar in taste but were quiet pleasant and well prepared. To my surprise a mustard based crisp vegetable fry starter really was a relishing treat. It was full of flavors and was something i personally hadn't had before. The fish was excellent as well. mildly spiced and full of flavor.<br/><br/>Ok!!! a suggestion. I really wanted a sweet and spicy oriental style dip with a lot of the on-trays and would really to request one to be introduced.<br/><br/>On the main course, I chose mix meat rice, Hakka style noodles, Thai green curry, pickled chicken, Chicken salad, stare fried prawns and lamb meat ball in gravy.<br/><br/>I found the food to be excellent. The rice was a little bland and lacked flavor but then the gravy's were almost done to perfection.<br/><br/>The desert was a lavish spread as well. The usual cakes and custards. The crispy sweet cookies with chocolate sauce did stand out from the rest. <br/><br/>All and all a perfect place to eat a lavish Indian style oriental spread with a nice and calm ambiance.<br/><br/>Will surely be visiting often.
