Ordered My dinner from this place some days back and It was Amazing. The delivery made the experience a Little bad As Half Of My order had gone cold, yet the chicken was cooked really well so it was still enjoyable. Must Try- Chicken bura, Tandoori Roti and Phirni. Budget:680 for 2 Approx Value for Money:4/5

A whole new experience when it comes to getting food delivered at home! Zaferoon is a dedicated food delivery outlet which believes in customer satisfaction. Sharing my experience with you all. The dishes that I tried were: Paneer tikka for starters, Shahi Paneer and green chutney for maincourse served with Rumali Roti and salad, and, Phirni and Sheermaal for dessert. The food quality was top notch and trust me, the best phirni that I've had in my life is from here. The sheermaal is a different sweet bread embedded with pistachio jewels and a few other things. I loved it. The starters and maincourse dishes were flavourful and delectable. An outlet that I'd recommend you all to order atleast once and then I'm sure you'd keep on ordering.

Mughlai is in vogue in the tri-city region these days. More and more restaurants are coming up with what they term as "authentic" Mughlai fare. The trouble is, we’re hundreds of kilometres away from cities which can truly boast of authentic Mughlai such as Lucknow. In such a case, it becomes difficult to really find a restaurant that serves what it claims. I know a trick which is often used. If the food is not authentic, it is termed as Indo-Fusion. Now you know. But enough of this gyaan. In the midst of terrible confusion over authenticity, we have the newly opened Zaferoon - a delivery only restaurant that claims to serve authentic Mughlai fare. And so I ordered and let me walk you through what I was served. The Murgh Biryani was precisely what I expected it to be, long grain flavourful rice, beautifully marinated spicy chicken cooked with aromatic spices and fried onion. Oh, how I love fried onion in a Biryani. The biryani, albeit spicy for my palate was spot on and hit all the notes that it is expected to hit without going overboard in any way. Murgh Kali Mirch - This was the crowning glory of the order. The thing about authentic Mughlai is that flavours are never loud, a.k.a generic North Indian/Punjabi fare. In an authentic or near authentic Mughlai dish, you’ll find subtlety, the nazaakat of spices and they don’t hit you. Instead, they’re meant to please your senses. This dish does just that. It is oily so if you belong to the “Ultra health conscious, oil measuring, calorie counting, broccoli munching, vegan loving tribe”, stay away because you’ll only embarrass the dish. The white gravy is delicately flavoured and the black pepper doesn’t kick you. It gently adds its touch and makes this an amazing dish. The chicken pieces were juicy and cooked to perfection in the gravy. This is yet another thing I've noticed. There are places where chicken is boiled and kept aside and quickly tossed in gravy and others where the chicken is cooked in the gravy and this is what you should be looking for. The chicken should be cooked within the gravy as in the case with this place. The above dish was paired with one of the best sheermal I’ve had in recent times. It was not very sweet and had loads of crushed almonds on the surface. A royal affair indeed. Pairing the sheermal with the Murgh Kali Mirch is a match made in heaven. After this amazing fare, I ended with Phirni or Firni which is served in a clay tumbler. Dense, grainy with dry fruits and mildly sweet, this was just out of this world. Desserts, especially Indian desserts are often too sweet whereas those who know how to respect original recipes will favour a milder quantum of sweetness that brings out the aroma and other flavours as well. I had originally decided to keep it in the fridge and have it the next day, but I simply could not resist the temptation. Didn’t even share it with anyone and I suggest you do the same. I’m so happy to see genuinely authentic or close to authentic Mughlai finally being made available in the city. We don’t have a considerable Muslim population here and in terms of Mughlai/Non-Veg fare, it is quite a loss. 

The family behind Zaferoon comes from Meerut and has had decades of history, serving friends, family and guests with scrumptious food. This restaurant, from what I’ve gathered is run by the family where elders are involved in running the kitchen themselves and ensuring the quality of the food. The entire family is involved personally in the restaurant. How else can you infuse love in the food that you serve? And it shows. A truly commendable concept and a welcome change for the land of Butter Chicken and Cheesy fries in a beaker.

We ordered food from zaferoon 1 week back..it's delivery was fast... As mughal food is royal & full of non veg so it do not have much veggie food... but less options means less time to choose...At very 1st instance we were not sure anout the veg food taste but we ordered panner tikka ,shahi panner,sheermal,tandoori roti,& believe me it was so delicious..so tasty..reallyy finger licking food. now I came to know why kings love mughalai food..thanku so much for Making these amazing authentic mughal food😍😍🌸🌸🌸

I've had a short stay in Chandigarh and was looking around for restaurants that serve halal mutton and chicken. I found this place and ordered food. I ended up ordering from this restaurant everyday. I just couldn't order from anywhere else. The mutton dishes are awesome, the quality of meat stands out. The chicken dishes are equally good, cooked to perfection and not hard or rubbery at all. The chinese dishes could be a bit better and honestly were rather disappointing. If not for lockdown, i would've visited this place everyday and explored the menu even more. Must visit if you're a non vegetarian at heart. Two thumbs up!!!

Easily the best chicken I've ever had, the Afghani Chicken Tikka is tender and extremely well cooked. The Chicken Korma is refreshingly different, and tastes very good with Sheermal, mixing two distinct flavours which go together very well. The roti is so fresh and soft that it can be eaten by itself. For dessert, the firni is rich, light and disappears in your mouth like Belgian chocolate, giving a perfect ending to a great meal. Good authentic hygienic food which feels like it had been made for guests and not customers. Would definitely recommend it to everyone, and can bet that you can't order it just once

Zaferoon is a heaven for all non-vegetarians. I recently got food delivered from them. I am sad that they have such little vegetarian options because the food is superb. They have such yummy food and at very economical prices that you might end up ordering from them daily. I tried the Kadai Paneer, Tandoori roti and salad along with rice and Sheermal. The paneer was so soft and yummy while the roti was a khameeri roti. It was so unique and tasty, I loved it. The Sheermal is sweet bread that tastes like barfi. Or so I thought. It was too good and the full meal was cooked and prepared with complete finesse. I also loved their packaging and the delivery too was prompt. Over all it was a great experience.

I ordered Mughlai food for the first time from zaferoon. The packaging was well done to keep the food steamy hot. I ordered Chicken korma, Chicken Biryani, Salad, Sheermal and Naan. The savoury dishes were almost perfect. Sheermal was just the way I like - not too sweet. I was hesitant at first for the taste of mughlai food, but you should trust me, I didnt miss any of Karim's food now!

Ordered dalmakhni and naan via Zomato believe me taste was really good with lots of flavours of settle spices with perfect blend of texture and salt.+ The packaging material used for home delivery was of very good standard and quality The naans were too tasty as well with a low tandoori fume flavour with mint spreds on it Must try for food lover . Suggestion to owner plz if u keep the same taste than one day customers addicted to your taste of preparation. Excellent Food Makers

If you are looking for authentic mughlai food then hands down this is the place for you !!! I tried their mutton stew, Naan, Chicken Briyani and Sheermal. Starting from one of my favourite out of all , i.e. The Mutton Stew 😍😍😍😍😍 I had never tried Such Delicious, Perfectly cooked and juicy mutton. The gravy was very flavorful 👌👌👌 Coming to the Chicken Briyani , the Aroma of the Briyani says it all 🤤🤤🤤 One of the best till date 👍👍 Sheermal is a thick sweet mughlai Bread/roti and I even liked that too !!

2 days in a row!! Amazing amazing food and taste.. The quality is excellent and the service is awesome. Best part is their delivery all over Mohali, infact anywhere in tricity plus 'Halal'. While struggling to find good halal food, these guys have come as a savior. Their packaging is such that if you're traveling, you need not worry at all. CHICKEN KORMA Flavourful curry made with plenty of spices and cream thats buttery and completely delicious. Perfectly cooked with bursting flavours. 👌 MUTTON KEEMA Minced meat with a distinctive aroma and the taste of ground and whole spices, sprinkled with almonds and cashews. This is a dish to die for ❤️❤️❤️. An absolute must try for all the mutton lovers because you'll 100% definitely will not get over it. 💣 Highly recommended 😋😋 SHEERMAL A saffron flavoured flat bread topped with almonds and pistachio.

You simply cannot fathom the marvel Zafroon brings to your pallete. It simply is an affair between you and the food. Too good to be true. It is an experience that is worth at least once in your life and many more times. Nothing beats the hospitality of the staff and owners, with the bonus of phenomenal flavors. They took too much to prepare my food and when it did finally arrive, was awful and stale.<br/>When I asked the person in charge, he started arguing with me and started abusing.<br/>I wouldn't recommend anyone to order the food from this place.

I have been regularly ordering from this kitchen but after lockdown the quality has went bad to worse with every order. The last food ordered was delivered almost after 1.5 hrs with poor packaging, half cooked chicken, unhygienic quality seemed like it was yesterday food reheated again. The restaurant has lost all the quality after the lockdown. I believe there management or the chef has been changed. <br/><br/>

Lahori Chicken and Honey crispy chicken was good, Khameeri roti is just a tandoori roti made of maida. <br/><br/>Will try some other dish next time. First experience was good.

I ordered Butter chicken, which comes with options 4 and 8 pcs.<br/>4 pc butter chicken, commonly presumed half is priced at 370<br/>The taste or the chicken was slightly above average, that too from my request for not keeping it sweet.<br/><br/>But the quantity as can be seen in photos is pathetic.<br/>4 so small pcs they would make up a quarter chicken were sent.<br/>This is very disappointing.

Highly disappointed with delivery. I ordered food for my guests and even after 2 hours of placing order, my order is still not delivered yet. Highly embarassed and regretting choosing Zomato and zafroon. .. never gone place order again.

Ridiculous delivery

I had ordered Kadhai chicken with 2 butter naan. But instead of Kadhai chicken they give me butter chicken which was cold. And also I had to chat with Zomato so many times to know the status of my order because it had been more than an hour I placed an order. But they were unable to track the order. I tried calling to restaurant but number was switched off. 😂 I mean this is totally disgusting. Also the delivery was half an hour late from the expected time. Quantity of food was too less with 2 small pieces, I could say mini pieces. I read all the reviews before I could place an order. After reading all the review, even then I took that risk to place the order from ZAFEROON because It thought this won't happen to me like it has happened to other customers. But I was wrong the same thing happened to me. It is my generosity that I have given ZAFEROON two stars.

My order didn't even arrive and the restaurant showed it as delivered.Moreover when I called for enquiry after 1 hr of wait.they told me food will be delivered in 30 mins Max.When nothing arrived I called them 10 times but no one picked and eventually they showed it as delivered at midnight while I was still waiting.And since it was 12:30 I couldn't order and had to sleep empty stomach.<br/>Remove this restaurant ASAP from zomato.If they cannot deliver the food they should decline the order and should not let the customer suffer.

Tried them recently after the change in management. I’d like to say, i really liked their food majorly because, everything was fresh. The biryani was super. Rubbery Dried Meat? So, aged goat, butchered a week ago atleast, uncooked, in factory gravy, is what Zaferoon stands for. If you like the hard animal carcass remains of a days old kill, this is the place for you. I ordered a Zaferoon 'Special' Mutton and a jeera rice. The mutton was atleast a week old by it's dryness, and hard as hell by its inedibility. You can cut the mutton pieces off the bone with a knife, but you won't be able to chew them. <br/><br/>It's ancient, it's discoloured, it's bullet-proof mutton! By the way, this happened AFTER I personally called the restaurant and insisted on them to tenderise the meat.<br/><br/>Coming to the gravy, it's store-bought factory-cheap gravy, with an inch of oil level above. You can assess the lack of texture, the obligatory tang and the made-up consistency and fathom the absurdity of the gravy within the first spoonful. The only thing fresh was the coriander sprinkles in the complete dish. Waste your appetite, time, mood and money on food from Zaferoon and remind yourselves what true disappointment feels like.

I ordered halal chicken curry half in which the chicken was very bad rather it was not looking like chicken and the curry was tasteless. I have to throw the curry and half of the chicken. My mood and taste in chicken is ruined after eating this. Also i asked them to provide the bill which they haven't. So, i suggest everyone not to order atleast the curry item from them and other things i won't try from them now.

Visiting india and Chandigarh for the first time, i found Tikka box and "ferny" sweet in Zaferoon very delicious, and the staff so kind, excellent food for delivery...

A good place to order food at home. You don't have to worry about the quality of the food. Although their prices are bit higher than usual. Packing was good taste was good

We order chicken biryani and chicken seek kabab roll. I would like to say that the food was pathetic from zaferoon. Even after ordering the biryani of 369 rupees, the quantity is very less, is suh that not a single person can fill his stomach.2nd time in a row this has happened from this restaurant.Also Zomato is seems ignoring the food quality and tasteThis is not acceptable from this restaurant.

I had ordered afghani chicken tikka. Which has to be prepared in cream, mention in the menu only. But I can't find the cream. Moreover special instructions for no chilli no kali mirch, I think chef ignored it. Overall vahiyat tikka.<br/>

Ordered Chicken shwarma, such poor quality, chicken was so unfresh.Old stuff was used.Puke came after 2 bites.Dont know how they are rated 4.1.V poor show.

Worst chicken korma ever. Nothing but oil with raw — pink chicken thrown in. Couldn’t understand how is it having good ratings. The one i ordered for ₹400 is now in my dustbin so definitely a minus rating from my side.

Ordered first time from zaferoon today (Lahori Kadai Chicken). Found out that the whole chicken was raw and undercooked. No marination no cooking of the chicken...... The chicken was just put in the gravy and delivered. Utterly dissappointed. Would have given half a star if it was possible.

Ordered chicken Biryani. Rice were ok and flavourful, but chicken in it wasn't good. It was hard, overcooked and bland. Raita given along was very thin. Giving it 2stars only for flavourful rice. Did not live up to the expectations. Want to give another try but Not sure will order from this place again

We ordered chicken barra & murg kalimirch. Both the dishes were great. Chicken barra was nice & spicy & murg kalimirch was one of the best i have had after a long time. The packaging was great & so was the service. Hope to try other things soon

Please don’t order biryani. It wasn’t good at all and I was utterly disappointed. So I won’t recommend it to anyone. I have eaten much better biryani even at small restaurants.<br/>

Chicken Biryani wasnt good, CHICKEN was NOT COOKED at all. It was like having boiled rice with half boiled chicken.<br/><br/>It makes no sense serving HALF BOILED CHICKEN and rice with raita.<br/><br/>If you want to try Chicken Biryani try CURRYS ! Two stars for delivering late night, it's not easy game to prepare chicken Biryani.<br/><br/>Update: my friend has to visit doctor for upset stomach due to half cooked chicken. One star I am updating.

I shifted to Chandigarh recently and honestly non veg food is not up to standard at most of places. But hats off to Zaferoon. Love this place.

Butterchicken was an absolute delight. Havent eaten such tasty one in loonnggggg time. Will definitely try other dishes too.

I ordered a chicken Biryani from Zaferoon - A Mughal Affair a few days back, looking at the reading it had recieved. Might I add I was not disappointed!<br/>Chicken was nice and juicy, Biryani had nice soft aroma and flavours. Quantity was generous, I ordered half a plate which is enough for two and fried onion garnish was on point.<br/>Would love to try other options from here! Well done guys!

Chicken biriyani ordered was very bald, tasteless. Kindly make improvement so that its up to what we pay. Just take it as suggestion...,..........<br/>

I ordered a paneer tikka roll from them. Firstly it took them forever to deliver my order. 30 minutes late than the ETA.<br/>They call themselves A Mughal affair and sends the wrap with a pouch of tomato ketchup. Bad packaging and delivery for that price and reviews.<br/>The rumali roti was half cooked and was difficult to chew and the paneer was also kind of raw not paneer tikka. It was smelling bad and there was a pungent chicken smell in it. Definitely one of my worst food orders trusting the reviews.<br/>I trusted the reviews but they are definitely biased .<br/>

Disappointed ! Had mentioned food needs to be less spicy and then called them up to reconfirm the same , but the food received was extra spicy to the extent nobody even had it.<br/><br/>The naan and rumali Roti was like plastic and again not edible.<br/><br/>Had guests over, the whole evening was spoiled thanks to you guys.

I ordered shahi paneer and rumali roti but the taste was not good and roti was too stiff to chew..it doesn't deserve 4* rating. I don't recommend this restaurant.<br/>

The mughlai taste food here is just so tempting, there tikkas, kebaabs, mutton delicacies are super yummy and one can’t just forget the amazing flavours they have❤️

I am regular customer. I always order fish tikka but today fish was undercooked and very bland. I have high hopes for zaferoon but today I was totally disappointed as no liked it in my family as they usually love it. <br/>
