Part of ICT grand Chola, 5 star hotel, the Ambience was great. Good variety of both veg and non veg. Mutton briyani was a signature dish one should not miss. Staff take care well. Worth to spend important occasions here. Love to visit again.

Must try mutton biryani.... Ada pradhamam tastes excellent... Fish fry needs upgrade to south Indian recipe... Smells raw...

Enjoyed my food during my stay, breakfast, lunch and dinner all are buffet. Items are limited when compare to other start hotels but given items tastes good. Both lunch and dinner three varieties of briyani was available special mention kadai gravy. Menu can be different for breakfast and some of the items also not available.both in lunch and dinner deserts taste was awesome. I have booked in packing so it was good for me if you are coming directly for dinner r lunch it's not worth for given menu

Excellent buffet and service. Perfect selection of curated food items, indulging experience is worthy and the best one can experience. Perfect ambience and an ideal buffet for everyone, lots of options be it a starters, main or dessert. Been to various buffet but this one is a top notch considering the varities and health aspects (adequate spicy, no deep fried nor oily). Unlimited indulgence without taking any toll on health. A royal treatment for royal price. Overall a must try and worth it.

Sweet potato soup and aubergine was awesome. Prawns in coconut curry was beautifully made. Such a lovely spread of desserts. Visited during the holidays so it was busier and kind of gave a marketplace buffet vibes. Staff was very helpful

Nice ambiance and good food. Non-veg had more options. But very few Veg options and mostly the options were like whatever we usually cook at home, not very interesting. Only 2 starters in Veg and Non veg, but that too was getting over soon.
Karthick Saravanan
We tried a buffet in this restaurant , it was really good. They served more varieties in veg and non-veg dishes. But they can serve a few more starters. Deserts were also good. Price was a little high when we compared it to other star hotels. It was a good experience to taste these foods overall.

Madras pavilion is an in house restaurant of ITC Grand Chola. Beautiful interiors , premium cutlery, lavish seating arrangements set the tone, mood and ambience to feast upon the food. This place serves buffet styled food. Have been here on multiple occasions during my stay in ITC Chola. There is lots of variety in starters, main course, rice plates, sweet dishes. The best is the Sunday brunch. Lots and lots of variety. Enjoyed my food to the maximum.

Good food, good ambience. However For the 3000 rupees buffet, there are better options available.

I love this place, i have been here for two times. I think this the best place in Chennai for a great breakfast. I loved it for dinner also. Here the staff is very friendly and responsible. I love the dinner also here. When I went this time there was some exciting offer going on, usually the buffet would be 2250+ taxes as per standard rate. The offer was 1) 2500 + taxes includes water bottle and few beverages. 2) 3000+ taxes inluding liqour. So obviously I went ahead with 2nd offer, had 4 beers and one 12yr old whisky, both were not up to the mark, but still enjoyed my time there having other chicken & fish startes. But I love the food here. Few celebrities in chennai also prefers this place, i have observed during my stay there. Though its little expensive, its worth it.

I was staying ITC grand chola for a day and I had dinner and breakfast buffet which was included in my room charges. The day I went I inquired the cost for per person dinner buffet cost Rs.1995. They have more 20 dishes for selection. They have from paneer to beef. The had extensive desert and 3 ice cream for choosing. The table arrangements provided more privacy and ambience was good. They had 2 soup, 8 starters, 10 main dishes, 2 Biryani, can order indian breads of your choice. Raspberry cheesecake cake and almond ice cream was great.

Excellent dining experience. The food items were really good. The spread was huge & unique. Royal ambience of the hotel. Buffet price is on higher side (2300+ per person with taxes), but worth spending, on special occasions. Liquor/Beverage has additional charges. We dined on Saturday for lunch & also celebrated my birthday.

My Dining experience here can be simply phrased as an upgraded version to your usual buffet places only with the exception being the 5-star pricing as well as the 5-star ambience.

It was pretty decently crowded when I went there. I had reserved a table for 4 on the occasion of my husband’s birthday. We were received and seated immediately on arrival.

Buffet concept is pretty much the same wherever you go!!! We had the starters served at the table while the main course and desserts were displayed on the buffet counters. Nothing in terms of taste and presentation that simply blew my mind. For the bill we received in the end(Not complaining), I could think of umpteen number of other places where we could have dined. None of the dishes were bad either to whine about.

And ofcourse we received a complementary cake for the occasion which tasted good too.

Overall:-
Will i go there again?!?
Meh..Don’t think so.
VFM - 2.5/5
Ambience - 4/5(Interesting dining interiors but only on a limited floorspace though)
Service - 4/5
Experience - 3.5/5
I love the ambience and their huge variety of desserts 🍨

Why One star? Read through for the honest experience

Went with 78 member team for lunch today on March 17, 2020 . This has been informed prior and arrangements have been made.

Pros:
Soup is good. They had good bread crumbs and breads to go with it. This place has the best Chicken tikka hands down. So soft ,yummy but not overpowering. Dessert collection is splendid and everything tasted good. They have decent varieties of ice cream and toppings. Go with the coffee flavor. The lady staff in the ice cream section was so warm and welcoming. Only she was lively amongst the entire crew.

Areas of improvements:
When we entered, we felt like we are in a unwelcoming location. The staffs dint welcome us or guide us or offer a food tour . We were left blind for the next two hours. Few staffs threw forced fake smile but it's very easy to see through it. Their unhappiness striked us like a thunder.

Food:
They are so lethargic to refill the dishes. I never got to try the fish, prawn dishes and mutton biriyani .
There is a live counter manned by single chef for roti/Paratha and you literally have to stand in queue for good 5 mins to get a single piece of roti. Never got to try paratha because of this frustrating delay.
The staffs are over enthusiastic in collecting the plates but don't show proper motive to refill the dishes .
There is a panipuri section in the same live counter of the roti , but since its manned by one chef , you never got to relish the pani puri. I even personally asked a manager to arrange for pani puri but it fell in deaf ears.
The chicken biriyani is sub par. This is the most dry biriyani I have ever tasted. I never got to try the mutton biryani since it was never refilled even when I went there two times.
The prawn dishes was just left empty after their first filling. It was never refilled again.
A colleague caught a stone while eating and another got a dead mosquito on fresh plate counter. There is no tissue or cloth provided near plates so you don't get to clean the plate by yourself even.

If you want to spend 2hrs dining limited food (please don't call it a buffet) among the most unwelcoming staff and unhygienic environment but good dessert and icecreams, you can try this place.

Thanks,
ITC shareholder

Sorry we were busy eating hence there are not pictures of us gorging on the absolutely delectable selection of spread . This is my father-in-law’s favorite place. Where food is concerned.. award goes to him .. he finds these gems in the whole of Chennai city .. since he wanted to celebrate my birthday, he took me here and woah I was surprised with the amazing food and service . Indian, Indo-Chinese, biryanis, salads, true South Indian spicy food .. and what a lovely desert stand .. malpuas , I’ve creams, blueberry white chocolate soufflés .. and what not .. must visit for those who are ready to loosen their pockets and pack on some pounds .. visit this place .. note come in empty stomach to really enjoy meal and a good family time .
Swetha Juluru
This place is not at all worth that price. There are no live counters. No Italian cuisine. Choice is very limited. Taste of the provided items was also not upto the mark.

Totally awful !!! Well, how do you expect to rate some place that’s infested with cockroaches? It’s unacceptable anywhere, but more so in a hotel like ITC Grand Chola. Yea, true story - sighted a cockroach in the middle of the dessert section. You can imagine the shock factor.

This happened a few days ago, but could just review my experience. I don’t think I can step inside this restaurant again. And I’m not sure about their other restaurants either. Used to be a regular, now, I’m just skeptical about dining at any of the restaurants at this property.

It was my birthday so we decided to have dinner buffet at ITC Grand Chola Madras pavilion. I have dined at peshawari a few times and i feel they set a bemchmark in service.
Expecting the same we dined at Madras Pavilion but i am sorry to say the service was not ITC Class our table was not ready inspite a reservation at 4pm the refills were not being done for the smoked salmon . The live station counter had a chef who didnt know how to make pasta Being a traveller due to my profession i know what to expect from hotels of ITC Cllass and i am not a very demanding guest but when basic are not addressed it is surely a disappointment
The food served was good the deserts section needs more variety
Overall i feel ITC Grand Chola needs to look at service part seriously

I am sorry to write a review after almost 2 years. It was my first dinner date with my would be life partner in December 2017 at your property. It was her birthday. We both enjoyed your food, ambience, behavior, ....almost everything. We still cherish that memory. Since then I promised myself that whenever there will be a special occasion in our life we would try our best to be in Madras Pavilion !!!💐💐

Ambiance : Comfortable seats and a decent interior.(3.5/5)

Variety : Yes a lot but definitely not sufficient.(3/5)

Taste : Few countable dishes are extraordinary but other things needs to be improved a lot .(3/5)

Service: Basically people don't expect ordinary level service here but it was the case. (2.5/5)

Wished chef could have interacted with us knowing our taste and preference to make one special dish just to make a difference. Small effort counts.

Unfortunately taste of the food can't compromised by the luxury of the place.

Happy dineout!
Amita Arora
Our buffet breakfast was added with room. They serve great breakfast with varieties from every corner of the country. Mango lassi, filter coffee, and some special madras coffee were amazing. However, boiled eggs are main thing for any breakfast and it would be great if it gets served peeled. I couldn’t have them coz you gotta invest time in peeling them.

Apart from this everything was amazing. But still require improvement in north Indian food considering the star this restaurant possess in comparison with other high rated buffet restaurants.

I love ITC buffet breakfast but this one at Madras Pavilion did not live up to the expectations. The food was either extremely salty or sweet. I tried the paratha, idli and the dimsums and they were extremely salty. While the saffron milk was extremely sweet. I hope the feedback is taken and they work on the same.

Madras pavilion (ITC GRAND CHOLA) one of the best place for Food lover. Lots of options in food varieties. Well knowledge staff. Chef Prakash was very kind and he did excellent hospitality service. Soon will come with family and friends.

I celebrated anniversary with my hubby at Madras pavilion at ITC we both really enjoyed the lunch buffet . being a veg so happy to find eggless pastries which is not available at any buffet menus, we throughly enjoyed each and every dishes which gave homely taste. thanks to chef for making our anniversary special,..
Venkatesh K
This place was in my list for a long time and so is the expectations. But I felt the menu spread and taste let me down. There was nothing called veg starters and welcome drink. Lemonade we ordered was outside the buffet cost. Taste was really average.not worth the cost.

So it was my birthday, and v decided to go for a huge buffet dinner somewer big, and our ultimate choice for the occassion was this elegant restaurant in ITC. First off, the ambience was just too beautiful and radiant and definitely took us off our feet. The food was a dream display of various veg and non varieties, couldnt take our eyes off each dish and the endless choices. The food was excellent, definitely worth the huge money.
Ajay
Came here on a busy Tuesday lunch hour to indulge in some delicious all-Indian buffet food. We definitely got our money’s worth with a wide variety of dishes presented - from Chicken and Mutton Biryani, to Chicken Tikka and Chicken 65, along with various other vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries alike. The dessert selection was fantastic and the staff made us feel at home with a small birthday token for one of the members in our party - how sweet! Would definitely return here again when in the area, but watch out, it’ll make quite a dent in your wallet :)
Vaishnavi Ramesh
Had the breakfast buffet here on my birthday :) delicious food, loved how fresh the coconut chutney was (which is becoming a rarity nowadays). Brilliant ambience and great service.

Best English breakfast in town, especially their sausage is worth the try. With wide spread of variety from dumplings to dosas to variety of breads it’s perfect place for breakfast. The ambiance is giant, pretty and huge space to accommodate large crowd.
We decided to go for the lunch buffet since we were famished and were certainly not disappointed. Such a wide spread and everything was top notch. Right from the salads to the desserts, yummy! I was only disappointed with the chicken kebab but the other dishes more than made up for it.
Vivek Anand
Simply awesome. One brilliant experience with top class dishes. The ambience is just extraordinary. Very friendly service by the staff. I wanna go again n again. Wide spread buffet for dinner including pork, beef, lamb, prawns n a lavish spread for veg dishes too.

Had breakfast at this place multiple times during the stay. Lovely ambiance with stylish couches. The breakfast spread was lavish and amazing. We specially loved their dosas. It was easily the best item amongst other awesome dishes.
One beautiful place to have a peaceful lunch!
madras pavillion is known for its ambience but i would say its really great in ambience and as well as the food! the staffs were veryyy kind and greeted us well.

the buffet costs 2175 including tax per person. they had a huge variety of dishes! both veg and non veg had equal number of dishes! the chicken varieties were really good! the peri peri chicken ofcourse was my favourite!
the pork dish wasnt good enough! it wasnt cooked properly! the fish fingers were also a bit hard.
they had 4 types of biryani, among which mutton was my favourite❤️. they had chat counters, north indian dishes too.

Lastly the desserts were amazingly super. the mousse cakes and icecream and coffee cake was marvellous❤️.

rating would be-
food-4/5
ambience-5/5
service-5/5
Hemanth
The fruit salad counter was a joke with very limited fruits. ITC MP needs to improve on their dessert section.

Thanks to Mangal for guiding me through the course. Loved the hospitality!

I was in Grand Chola yesterday for an event and cherished the for that were served.

What did I have?

Coffee
Gulab Jamun
Paneer Rolls
Bread Sandwich
Cup Cakes
Choco Cake
Biscuits
Other delicacies

What did I like the most?

Presentation
Taste
Aroma
Ingredients being used

The food items are tasty and paneer roll was top
class. They were light on my stomach because usually restaurant food are real heavy.

Coffee was divine. Since it was noon, I did not feel
like asking for another cup else would have surely gone for it. They were served in wooden cup which makes it even more attractive.

Non-Veg ingredients like lamb & chicken that were used in the food were cooked to perfection.

Looking forward to my next visit - of course in a different restaurant as I’m thoroughly impressed.
Sudarsan Umashankar
Went for team lunch. Used to be regular to this place but today was a big disappointment. Fish was horrible , food tastes was very bad. Not sure what happened.
Prashanth
Excellent dining experience. I believe an expensive fine dining buffet should atleast have three items which blow your mind. And this did it. Most of the spread was amazing with some being unique and great. Needless to say the ambience was good too.
Note: I would not suggest it for a romantic lunch/dinner. Mutil course meal served at table better suits that.
Siddhant Khandelwal
Had buffet dinner and breakfast in the same restaurant.

Dinner : 5/5
Amazing taste , variety and menu.
It was pretty different from usual buffets as they have unique and Delicious dishes . One must definitely try their dinner buffet

Breakfast: 4/5
I am probably giving 4 on 5 because i am comparing it with their dinner menu. Overall breakfast is also satisfactory

One of my fav places in the recent times. Very few places offer such authentic food and at the same time the staffs are really courteous and friendly. Restaurant manager Mr. John is one extremely sweet person and manages the place really well. I’m a big fan of their masala dosa, rava dosai , green mint chutney and lover of their breakfast menu.
Steffy
Royal dinning.
Good variety of food and desert. 😍
Cannot take your eyes from it.
It’s simply super cool place to be visited.
Yummylicious starters.

Wonderful ambience. Great range of menu for buffet. Colorful and a few authentic dishes. Friendly and professional service. A must try place for luxury dining.

Myself and my wife visited this place fr our anniversary and its one awesome place fr dinner.. wt lightings on a calm weekday. Buffet spread has a lot of varieties fr veg south north indian and all u can ask for in non veg spread. Mutton biriyani was so delicious well cooked and dat can say u abt the quality. Veg starters and Panner was extra ordinary as well. Imported wine got me going wt spicy tasty food. its decor and aesthetics made us take a lot pics and if u need a great evening.

Happened to visit on a weekend and it was fully packed.
Reservation is suggested!!
The buffet spread was not much of a variety!
The food tasted really good❤️
Babu Samuel
Does not live up to the hype. Staff are not courteous and if you happen to go during a weekend for dinner, this place is like a fish market. Very poor service. Will not waste my time again going there.
Vikas Garg
Ambience is good, need to work on desserts (Indian and Western both style). Less options on North India starters. North Indian main course menu needs look out (taste wise). Will explore other ITC restaurants
Hariniabi
The ambience, service and food was extra ordinary. I went for my birthday celebration with my hubby. The experience was so amazing and friendly staffing, have opted for lunch buffet the food variety is good but usual menu. Along with lunch you can check the ITC chola decor with good selfies.

The ITC Grand Chola was amazing. Great restaurants, great room. Best of all great staff.
Great restaurants - Good variety of food. break fast was huge with all variety of world .
Awesome hotel. enjoyed like anything.. swimming pool is superb . simply unique and classy .

Dei Dei... What's with the knowledgeable Chennai Crowd giving 4+ ratings to mediocre stuff. We don't have good places in Chennai or what? Simply giving too much build up for average places.

Mediocre food. Below Average service.

Sums up the Dinner Buffet at Madras Pavilion.

Worthae Illa. Babu Ganesan will feed 3 people at the cost of one person at ITC. That Ambience, Classu, Selfie spot mayiru mannagatti and all comes later. Core competency itself fail means...

Where are all the good places in Chennai man?

Edit : Came here for a second time - as a group of 15+ folks. Same experience. Same review. Absolutely nothing changed. Don't go by all the feedback/responses that their SM team does on Zomato. They are all templatized.

But on a serious note - Do Chennai makkal - call "this" as one of the best buffets ?
Singh Singh
What an disappointing experience at new year brunch . For the per pax cost there was absolutely no choice of cuisine and food tasted less than average . There were hardly any live counter. Dessert section was absolutely rubbish with pathetic carrot halwa . Overall this place seem to be loosing its style and taste at the same time.Used to be a regular Had a bad experience few years back and had stopped going , today it was still a sheer disappointment. Waste of money and time .
Thushita Vijay
A meal worthy of the price. An amazing spread of delicacies across all the cuisines and mouthwatering desert array.
The ambiance was so peaceful and comfortable.
The waiters were omnipresent and so very attentive.
Couldnt expect more.
Best experience ❤

Excellent place for the dinner buffet.
However I felt little at lack of choices from the started perspective.
No complains in taste and ambiance though. Great place

We had brunch on Sunday (11.11.2018) and very next day on Monday(12.11.2018) we had dinner at your Madras Pavilion. As far the brunch was fine as everything food and drinks (non alcoholic) was included in the buffet price. But the experience we had in our monday dinner buffet at Madras pavilion was disappointing. Before coming for dinner I contacted your restaurant to get the price of drinks they charge as drinks are not included in buffet for Monday dinner. On call they told me INR 360 per person for unlimited drinks (non alcoholic). The day we arrived for dinner I personally spoke to the restaurant manager JOHN, same about the drinks. He totally buttered us with his polite gesture by saying that since you had your brunch here yesterday and again you are here for the next day dinner, he said he will see and get a cost around INR 2000 for unlimited drinks as we were all 10 people including kids. And moreover unwantedly he said as you are a family of 10 people not to worry we will serve you starters and soup on table. The very next moment he sent a lady to get us in the trap of your so called membership. In which we were not interested at all, as food was not up to the mark. As soon as we told no for membership, total scene and behaviour of manager JOHN changed. To begin with he didn't arrange for serving soup on table as he volunteered by himself. we waited for around 15 to 20 mins then we served ourselves. Then as promised he said he will provide us unlimited drinks for approx INR 2000, each and every time we had to ask for drinks that too several times. And after certain time manager himself is coming and saying that they have provided drinks more than the expectation (which was supposed to be UNLIMITED) but actually they served only very limited. The way he came and told, it was totally embarrassing for us because we actually asked for unlimited drinks as per the menu but this guy unnecessarily told he will serve unlimited drinks with a nominal price then why is he not ready to serve as promised. Anyways apart from this what we found fishy is when we had to pay he gave us two different bills. One bill was total of our buffet and other bill was of drinks INR 2250, In the bill it was printed as "PLEASE DO NOT PAY". What I want to know is that INR 2250 is for the restaurant account or for the pockets of the Manager. Anyhow I have paid through card.

To conclude overall food was not as satisfactory as it should be and on the top this disgusting behaviour of the Manager John was totally disappointing to face in such a reputed hotel in chennai.

Had a very good experience. Taste and Ambience suits the grandness in name. The creamy chicken pasta is a must try. The starters were lip smacking as well.
The buffet had a good spread and everything on the menu was appetizing! Special mention for the bbq pork. Dessert section was decent with basic ice cream selection! Big ups for the service.

We had a team dinner yesterday at this restaurant. The food was good, except for a salted fresh lime soda that was too bitter to drink more than a sip. Also, we had a reservation and during the reservation call we were clearly informed that the buffet price will be 2300 including taxes. However, when the bill arrived, we thought it was the same amount and paid. After few minutes one of us was checking the bill and realised it was higher and when asked, we were told it is dynamic pricing. Now, when a restaurant/ hotel at this level conveys a pricing, we expect them to stick to their words. Extremely disappointed with the callous treatment and lack of courtesy to adjust the bill. Will not be returning here for any more dinners and nor will I recommend to my friends....
Almost forgot....another pathetic part of the service was to remove the empty bowls from the plate you are still eating, without even asking if they can do so...that is just outrageous for any restaurant...so watch out, they may also take the plate and cutlery as you are eating...
And, you get free mosquito bite massage while waiting to be seated, in the hallway to this restaurant...
Tc Karthick
one of the finest dinings in Chennai. Veg has limited options with respect to the starters. However the varieties in the main course and the pasta, pizza options are great. There are very good amount of cakes in desserts as well. Ambience is awesome and the service is excellent.

This review has been long time coming, but better late than never. As highly recommended as it came, ITC Grand Chola's Madras Pavilion has lived upto its name. The experience is memorable and leaves you thirsty and hungry for more visits.

The buffet is a memorable experience- eclectic bite sized munchies, ever-changing and fancy live counters, some local flavors and satisfying main course. The hors d'oeuvres is such an excellent spread, it takes supreme will-power to move beyond; every bite is a different celebration of flavors. Even if you are hesitant to try some flavours, I recommend try them all. The live counter, depending on what suits your palate and how adventurous you are feeling, you can give it a try. The main course, wouldn't say is thrilling, but satisfying to all palates.

The only part where you need to be careful is the drinks. Make sure you get all information on what is involved in the buffet. ITC is everything about customer experience, but your patience towards the person attending your table has its rewards!

All in all I would rate it a 4.5 in terms of experience, food, decor...
Foodstination
Food - 😍
Ambience - 😍💖💙💛
Price - 😍😐🤐INR RS. 2300

Not that you can fill your tummies for 2300Rs, but, given the ambience, quality and the variety of dishes; it's definitely a win win.

Truly amazing experience, luxury at it's best. We took the love table , had enchanting evening . The beverage options are fantastically designed .The food spread is lavish . I'll recommend guests to make a table reservation as per the requirements and get assistance from hotel staff as they have hot variety of table setups ! Kudos hospitality !
Have stayed in itc grand chola many times and definitely the morning buffet at Madras pavilion is so amazing haven't seen any hotel morning buffet to be so wide excellent food

ITC has a reputation of a great ambience and food. The ambience is good. There is ample choices for snaks and straters in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian category. The main course is same as ala carte. There is a good choice of desert. A wide range of deserts to indulge in. The visit is a value for money visit.

We went there for our anniversary. Ambience is spectacular. Sitting was comfy and spacious. Buffet spread was really good and everything tasted good. They even got us some prawn starters on request. One big negative to point out is the wrong glasses they served for liquor. My husband's whisky was brought in a tall glass and he had to ask for a whisky glass and then they got my wine also in a whisky glass which we let go. But one won't expect this from a star hotel like this. I don't think this could be an honest mistake, they just dint care about it.
Deepak Rawat
The food was wow, though they lagged in variety for starters but that was well compensated by other sections. Breads, biryani, main course, etc. were very good in taste. Reducing one star due to poor dessert - Lot of variety but only a few of them were average or above.
Pavithran Subbiah
Visited for Lunch Buffet.
Great Ambiance, Varieties of Foods with Awesome taste.
Their Non Veg dishes (Chicken, Lamb) are in Must try list.
Whereas the desserts section is absolute feast for your eyes as well as taste buds.
The only thing which I disliked was Gobi 65. It was bland and oily.

I couldn't click pics as I was busy enjoying food and ambiance.
Will look up on a chance to visit this place again!

Been here last weekend as My organization hosted the annual family day party here .

Place was slightly overcrowded , AC was not working as expected due to the crowd factor

The administration could have been definitely better . veg , nonveg , sweet dish and live counters could have been highlighted with small sign boards . Plates were really heavy and there no place to sit and have food ..so it was inconvenient

Ambiance - great

Parking - valet

Food - > better < best

Welcome drink - cola with jalzeera was good enough ( that was the only option left while we were having food , couldn't try other drinks )
Mutton biriyani was ultimate

Fish curry was not upon mark .

Chicken curry was just Ok

Paneer was good ..had tasted a piece from my kids plate .

Alu chat was just Ok ..

Rasmalai - good , I have tasted better stuff

Halwa and brownies - couldn't try

Dahi bhalla - excellent

cone Ice cream was good - kids view

Staff behavior : 70% of them were really good , 30 % were just avoiding our requests.. please improve as 5* hotels we don't go regularly but these small small things changes our perception and our recommendations while some client ask for somereview .
The food here is average and nothing great apart from the fact that this restaurant is a part of Grand Chola.
The service here is much better than their Pan Asian restaurant.
If you are staying here then you will end up in this restaurant if breakfast is included in your package.

Midnight carving here for drinks and some snacks can be considered good here...
Although very expensive but dude you standing in ITC... so rate to hoga hi...

Looking at the crowd in the morning made me wonder if I will be able to to enjoy my breakfast. I was wrong and there was a method to the madness.

The staff paid lot of attention and ensured each table got attention. The hot counters were quick without compromising the dosa or the omelette. The chutneys reflected the local flavour. One day the filter coffee was awesome and the next day the coffee had the flavour of the boiled milk which had touched the surface of the vessel to spoil the coffee.
Lots of good things and care at the Pavilion.

I went with my friends to grab late night dinner, and being such high rated hotel it doesn’t let you down with their hospitality and services and the quality of food was also good especially the presentation!!

Been here for a treat...
Overall can rate best for ambience and courtesy...
Expect lot more new innovations in buffet which was not convincing...
Luv n efforts for desserts was felt and awe-inspired... Lot of varieties.

Esp corn starter and garlic sauced chicken was yummy.. Expect different styles and taste for fish starters and biriyanis to break the benchmark.

Stayed in ITC Chola for a night - I had hurried lunch and breakfast buffet in Madras Pavilion. The spread is decent enough, and the ambience is very good. Liked some of the things, while some of the others were not great...Overall - same as buffets in many of the other Restaurants in 5 star hotels:-)

Food was Okyish, Very limited Starters both in veg and Non veg, The buffet seems bit boring, The only Positive is of course the ambience will Never visit again !!

Awesome experience with food and ambience.

Especially the smoked dishes were noteworthy for the taste and tenderness.
Desserts are a special delight.
I never expected it to be such warm and soothing experience. Money is worth the taste and ambience.

Breakfast - The spread and the taste is really good. But the place is very crowded. You need to increase the capacity to match the accommodation capacity.

Buffet dinner - Really good spread and taste.

Best buffet options.
Their breakfast is out of the world.Love the smoked salmons, eggs Florentine and even the Indian preparations are on point .
Their dinner buffet is well thought out with the soups and delicious desserts .
Their dahi papdi chat is sweet and sour and checks everything in the list .
Went there as for a birthday celebration on a friday, the buffet spread consisted of a wide selection of cuisines. Starters were moderately a disappointment as compared to the rest of the spread. The main course was highly satisfactory, drinks were not included in the spread. The cake provided as restaurant courtesy was exceptionally good.!As compared to the other restaurants in the hotel, madras pavillion proved to be satisfactory yet not exceptional.
The buffet was priced at ₹2296 per head (inclusive of taxes).

Ambience: 9/10
Service: 9/10
Starters: 6/10
Mocktails: 8/10
Main course: 8/10
Deserts: 10/10
Value for money: 7/10
Overall Experience: 7.5/10

Must try: slow roasted duck with honey juice, cajun spiced fish, lemon coriander soup, marinated prawns with boiled egg and agate, brownie cheesecake crumble, jaava triple chocolate brownie

ahhh what an evening.... this is my first visit to Madras Pavilion and i had a great time.... hot and sour chicken soup was great ...lamb and prawn started were greattttt..... salads were good... prawn cocktail was my favourite ...
main course : lamb roast , pork (mouth watering), fish curry, shallots kulambu , paruppu rasam were few of my favourites.........

a big drawback was the service ... every time i had to look out for atleast 5-10 min for a server to clear the plates and after about one hour thro the dinner i could hardly find any ... we had done with dinner and had to wait for nearly 30min for them to clear our table and give us the bill...

on top of that we had a bday baby and a complimentary cake was give. ( taste 10/10) ... but when they bought the cake to the table we still had all our dirty plates and cutlery and emptied drink glases on the table...

overall :4/5
food : 4.8/5
service: 2.5/5
ambience :5/5

I have been a regular at Grand Chola for quite a few years now and I love all the restaurants here. The ambiance and the food has always been exceptional but one thing that stands out always and has never disappointed (yet) is the service. The service and the warmth just places it a notch above others.

Recently I tried the brunch buffet at Madras Pavilion and I must say it was an absolute treat to the taste buds.

At starred hotels, it is a given to expect a wide variety of dishes but there always some wins and misses when it comes to the taste: here, every dish was delectable and made me want to hog all of them. I will not go into details but suffice it to say that all dishes are delicious.

The best part about the menu is the dessert section. If you have a sweet tooth like I do, your tummy will be half full just with the desserts you try. If you do not have a sweet tooth, try them nonetheless - you will not be disappointed. The Hennessey and raisin gelato was out of the world.

Knowing that I love the shahi tukda here and that I was coming to Madras Pavilion, the staff made shahi tukda (heavenly!) for me - which was an amazing experience and goes back to my point about the service here - simply the best in town. Special compliments to chef Abhishek Mody .. it is a pleasure to talk to him and he suggests can be tried without a second thought .. if he knows your taste he sometimes whips up some dishes on the spot. I really look forward to meeting him whenever I go. Hope he continues to delight the guests.

All in all, the brunch buffet is a must try and I am sure I will keep going back to this place, as I have been over the years. I can't think of any negative point with this. Highly recommend.

Amazing buffet!

What could go wrong with a starred hotel?
The buffet was wide spread with huge varieties. I personally enjoyed each and every dish. Right from the starters till the dessert everything was top notch.

A small suggestion is to have a live counter for barbecue.
Would definitely visit again!

I had a wonderful evening dinner with my old college friend in Madras Pavilion. We were a group of 7 people and we chose to dine in @ Madras Pavilion over buffet dinner.

The hall was neatly arranged the best part is their ambiance and lighting that speaks the elegance of ITC hotel groups. We were greeted by the waiters and they described us about the entire spread of buffet varieties.

It had a variety in continental to chinese to Chetinad varieties.

I had the following
1.Vietnamese Chicken soup
2.Prawn salad
3.smoked salmon
4.Mutton ribs

The veg starters were also equally good and the tasted fresh.

The main course was parotta with jinga prawns , thai chicken , veg noodles, fish curry . All of them were filled up regularly and was kept hot

The Wow items were the desserts , that were mostly based out of milk. The sweets shall increase your calories but doesnt stop your taste buds.

Overall the ambiance was very impressive and worth the value of time we spent .

ITC ...... The ambience is the best thing about this hotel. Madras Pavilion restaurant ambience is really awesome . We went as a group for iftar arrangements organised by Madras pavilion.it was a limited menu only the breads(roti) were unlimited. Though the menu was limited it was filling . First they had a plate with cut fruits, just 4 piece each of the fruit , the fruits were water melon, Musk melon, papaya and pineapple and then 2 dates and one rose sharbat (it was full of concentrated rose water) well and then post that they arranged a meeting hall for us to perform prayer (this was upon our request) after which came the thali which had a small position of Haleem (it was better than pista house ) and then briyani (it was okay) and then some dal (which was good ) and then Nihari (mutton bone and some gravy) and then unlimited rotis. Well I can eat only 2 rotis for the gravy they provide I don't understand y the rotis were unlimited and also there was no refill of gravies. I felt all the dishes served were little high on salt . It was a good experience though . Mainly just for the ambience and interior this hotel can be visited . I am getting doubtful now , a small iftar party had so much flaw in terms of food wat if we go in for buffet ? I will try that next and review it. The service was good too they staff were very courteous.
Value for money 2/5
Ambience 5/5
food 2/5
Service 4/5

Blissful vegetarianism
This coffee shop or a Pavilion is how they call it, is absolutely one of the amazing coffee shops I have been to in recent times....This place has some beautiful people around both in service and in big chefs team. I was amazed with the selection of vegetarian food they had on the buffet as well as the appetizers. Chef Jagan found out that my friend and me were vegetarians to which he instantly came over with a platter full of variety of starters and then Chef Abhishek took me around the buffet and helped me with choosing the food to my preferences of vegetables and also sent a few dishes prepared out of the menu... additionally he got us some special desserts off the menu. It was such a sweet gesture of him to take care of the guests. It was amazing to dine here...Prakash and you have served us the most amazing coffee...The ppl call themselves "Team Madras Pavilion"...so will see you soon again Team Madras Pavilion !!!

I had recently visited this place and i was surprised and very impressed with their street food Sunday Brunch. They had different counters and stations from all countries showcasing their different street foods.

As I belong from Delhi i am by default a street food lover, I was quite impressed with the Dilli chaat station.

I would strongly recommend this place to everyone and will myself will come back whenever next I am in Chennai.

Had a delicious lunch at Madras Pavilion recently. Must say, the dishes were as authentic as they could be.

Being a Vegetarian didn't really come in the way of enjoying some mouth watering dishes like Errasari Fry, Banana Flower Cutlet, Quinoa Sweet Potato.

My friend enjoyed the Nethli Fry and Tandoori Lamb Chops. In her words, the meat was tender and perfectly spiced!

Highly recommended.

*The perfect Sunday brunch hotspot*
If you are in Chennai and ever want to treat yourself and ensure you have had the best of experiences with a food buffet plus the luxury service then Madras pavilion at the ITC grand Chola is the place to hit. They will make you lazy. The interactive chefs stations are for sure exciting but so is the whole widespread. After every pillar lies a surprise of goodness. You are will experience foodcoma and yet want to keep walking around for the next courses, when you find chefs and servers feeding you more on the table.
Thanks for the wonderful experience team Madras pavilion will see you guys soon.

The hotel mesmarises me, everytime i come, great rooms, high teach. and stuff. The brunch is fantastic, the people are amazing and always smilling and healpful.
Look at this, feast to the eyes as well.
And the chefs come out and communicate. I feel that is the right chord they are striking.
Thank you Chef Badri.

Ambience 5/5
Food 2.5/5
Service 4/5
VFM 3/5

After hearing a lot about this place visited for a team lunch.
I was awestruck with the architecture and interiors, ambience is top notch. May be because of all good things heard and hype of ambience my expectations are quite high for food, though spread was huge I really dint enjoy food much, most of the dishes were flat , nothing amazing or appealing. Only thing I was happy about is ambience and desserts.
Food is very ok for the bomb they charge

So I came here for team lunch. My first time to ITC Grand and boy is this place huge! I couldn't stop but admire the place.
Now for the food, I had extremely high expectations for this place but was disappointed badly. The spread was vast but it didn't taste any special and I have been to many buffets and I know it could be made special. It looked as if no extra effort was put into this(no offence to all the hard work done by everyone to have setup such a vast spread). 3 dishes, the South Indian lamb curry, chicken in oyster sauce and another one which I don't remember was super salty. I don't know how the chef could have missed that. Then there was another minced lamb gravy where the meat tasted raw. Starters were less. The chicken and prawns starters were good. The South Indian style fish gravy was excellent. Tasted like my mom's fish gravy. That and white rice alone would make any fish gravy lover happy.
Now to the service, I have been to cheaper buffet places and have seen more smiles and pleasantries. Everyone seemed super dull. No matter how much I smiled or said thank you, the response was cold. Was not expected from such a place. They did go out of their way to our requests and the senior most staff or manager or whatever were way better than the general staff.
I guess I went there in a super bad day and I got extremely unlucky that I couldn't enjoy it as much as others here have said.
I will try giving other restaurants/cafe inside a chance. So whether you will take the risk and pay so much from your own pocket and go is up to you. If asked me again, I would rather go elsewhere that charges half of this and enjoy my food.

Went on a Saturday evening with a bunch of friends for the dinner buffet with drinks included. At the price Rs 3000, the range of drinks included was good which made up for the food which was below par. Veg starters were very limited and even the main course did not attract either for both veg and non veg. Service was poor when you are such a bigger brand!!

After a month's diet, this was my cheat meal. What other place can do justice, other than a global cuisine for an animal waiting to feast ? 😎 The buffet spread is pretty huge and you would surely get lost into the maze, unless your plan prior on how you're gonna eat ! 😂

The cuisine ranges from Indian to American to Japanese to Mexican to Chinese to Italian, so name your dish it'll be on your table. There were a lot of items we went through just mentioning my favorite ones - Grilled panner, Chilli Chicken, Prawn Tandoori, Mocktails, Pancakes, Mini burgers and the desserts were a total bliss !! ✌🏾

Unlike other places there are even multiple live counters (Mini burger, Pizza, Chat)

And there was a Unlimited drinks offer on the imported branded alcohols for 500/person. Cool right ? Tasted one of the finest Whiskeys (Ballentines) Vodka (Belvedere) and Champagne (Dom Perignon) Brandy (Hennessy Cognac) and the best part is they provide side dishes for separate drinks ! ✌🏾

VERDICT :
Ambience - 5/5
Service - 5/5
Food - 4/5
Cost - 3/5
Parking - Valet parking available.

I had been to this place yesterday with my family for dinner on an occasion to celebrate our wedding anniversary. To start with the positive, food was great infact every dish was made to perfection and for sure 5 star standard. But surprised they don't have Pani Puri and live counters when they say it is a multi cuisine restaurant and that was a great miss.
But the real.bad thing is the service in the restaurant. I had a month old baby with me and no special care was taken, though corner seat was given on request. For feeding we were running around to find a place but no one helped us. Well this was taken care in Leela they gave us a conference room and that was very helpful. Also, noticed there are argument between their service staff and realised they have a serious problem with the service staff. May be they have to address this.
We were given a cake with no candle to light it is almost like you cut it or not we don't care here is your little cake so funny...
Over all the place was well maintained and good but Madras pavillion has a serious staff issue that needs to be fixed. Would like to end in a good note, their rasagulla was so good I can eat at least 10 of them. I don't know if I will recommend this restaurant for a family...

Fancy restraunts ignore their food. If that is your preconceived notion then you gotta try this place their food is awesome and you have to know a little bit of your food like when i was there they had sashimi but obviously not everyone knew what that was. (Side note:it was really good) their roasted duck was excellently succulent crispy and sweet the taste still lingers in my tongue whenever i think about, its part of why i love being a food critic even though its only on google. Their desserts are impeccably crafted and tasty, a treat for everyone.its a great option for family outing. Its also very romantic. And they do serve alcohol. If you like my style of writing follow for more mouthwatering hotels and its reviews

I was here last week during my business trip to Chennai. The breakfast buffet was lavish and impressive. I loved the small stuffed paranthas served there. South India food was also good. loved the environment.
