Very Ethnic Restaurant. Feel the value for your money. Dedicated attendant for the service. You can see always smile on their face. They have different Thali. You can choose. Food very tasty and very hot. Lots of variety. Must visit restaurant in Chennai.

Come here for the ambience. Takes time; but the decor and ambience is certainly worth the time and money. A perfect place for celebrating occasions. Delicious food served affectionately!

It was a great experience. Each and every dish was amazing, a proper combination of North Indian plus South Indian flavours. You have to book your seat before visiting, go and enjoy the meal with your friends and family. 1 person cost ( thali) rs.1250.

Need to book this place one month in advance!! Everything was just fabulous - from food to service. If you want a great South Indian lunch - visit this place. Plenty of parking space available too! One of the best places in Chennai for South Indian options especially. Highly recommended.

The BEST place for a proper South Indian lavish fare... after having had paneer butter masala for years, only here it was truly delicious- light and flavourful. The pulao was on top of the world. Excellent service and ambience and food takes the cake. Of course you need a reservation and much in advance. Suitable for senior citizens and jains as well.

In terms of food the taste was very good and authentic. The food variety is almost like what you eat at weddings but with much better quality. The price is justified for the quality of the food and they serve it again if you want. This place has one of the best ambience I've ever seen. It was the perfect fine dining experience with no rush and it's great for get togethers. Note: Make sure to call them and get a reservation beforehand. Walk in is not preferred here as every table will be booked

I cannot tell you how long I've waited to go here! You can go here only with reservations and you need to book by Tue-Wed if you want to eat here by the weekend. The ambience was amazing! I liked how they served the food one after another and everything tasted good :) I didn't enjoy the cauliflower starters alone but everything else was good. One of the best vegetarian South Indian meals you can have!

Annalakshmi Restaurant (அன்னலட்சுமி உணவகம்) is a culinary treasure in the heart of Chennai, offering a unique dining experience that blends delicious South Indian vegetarian cuisine with a welcoming and spiritually enriched ambiance. This restaurant is not just about food; it's a journey for the senses and the soul. The first impression upon entering Annalakshmi is its warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is thoughtfully designed with traditional South Indian decor, featuring vibrant colors, intricate woodwork, and beautiful artwork that depicts various aspects of Indian culture and spirituality. The use of soft lighting creates a cozy and relaxed ambiance, making it an ideal place for both intimate dinners and family gatherings. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food. Whether you're a fan of the spicy Chettinad cuisine or prefer the mild flavors of Kerala, Annalakshmi has something to satisfy every palate. One of the restaurant's standout features is its unique dining concept. Annalakshmi follows the tradition of serving food as a form of seva (service) rather than a commercial transaction. Great place for vegetarian food with classic Indian atmosphere. Great ambience. Super tasty food & service from heart. Only problem is one has to book well in advance. This place is managed by a trust where people give voluntary service.

Good hall. Spacious, good, and adequate food . If all the halls and restaurants are full, then parking can be an issue. Large cars, parking is limited to four, smaller sedans can be parked parallel to the entrance
Najir Shaikh
Very tasty food, especially the methi palak with sweetcorn dish, five dahls, black dahls. Would be even better with half the amount of ghee. Drinks like panagam and thandai were very good. Biggest challenge was to be able to book as the staff said they had no availability for my local relative, however when we did have dinner not all the tables were busy so I think its just a marketing strategy to look very popular. AC is too strong, very cold when sitting so please remember to bring extra layers.

Finest vegetarian restaurant in town. The place is majestic and royal. I’m really impressed with quiet environment,Fragrance and Carnatic music. They have exceeded my expectation with their quality and top notch service. I got to know that food were cooked and served by trust members through volunteering act! The place is bit expensive but worth it. I would recommend this place for fine dining with family.

Firstly reserve a place as it is hard to get a table for walk-in. The meal is an amalgamation of South Indian and North Indian cuisine. Seating is special and curated well for a non-five star hotel. Service is well managed and timed in a good sequence. Great service staff and good food. What I would have liked to have in the meal to make it a five star rating is a signature dish. But as the name suggests it is a plenty of food, but served in small doses. Go there to complete your Chennai

Best dining experience. Wonderful ambience and great service. Loved every bit of the food. Thali was amazing and so filling. All milkshakes were too good.
Rajagopal N
Excellent vegetarian restaurant. The staff are polite and well behaved. The ambience is extremely good. A variety of dishes are coming one after another ( for thaali). The only issue is they are preparing food with full of ghee and butter, and the stomach fills with small quantity. But we can neglect this comparing with other positives.

Lunch at Annalakshmi Chennai Impression - AnnaLakshmi why did you do this to me Soup and Starter were okay I can never understand the funda of mixing of South Dishes with North in a sit down meal We were served Stuffed Paratha Poori with Palak Paneer and Dal Tadka Mixed rice - Vangi Bath; Maanga Rice and Sambar Rice Rice and Rasam Followed by Curd Rice Severe Identity Crisis Fine dinning restaurant need not serve in same pattern as a normal restaurant - why should these be mixed - why can't the theme be only south Indian including the breads why should Paneer appear in every meal Paratha Poori n Palak Panner were tasting awesome however the dal tadka was salty Vaangi Bath Maanga Sadam and Sambar - Perfect to the palate Then started the disaster We were served Vatha Kuzhumbu - I had a serious doubt whether it was Maanga Pachadi or Vatha Kuzhumbu - Vatha Kuzhumbu and runny not tadka no flavour of gingelly Oil not chenna dal curry leaves Ennai Katharikai was gross - thank God we were told it was Ennai Katharikai else I would have thought it to be another sweet tang Brinjal Pachadi Thayir Pachadi and carrot Kosambari Aviyal - Wanted to say - hello excuse me there is an important ingredient called Coconut oil which is essential for aviyal also curry leaves The saviour were the pickles and curd rice Maa Vadu was nice and crunchy it gave a nice bite Garlic pickle - Balance of Tamarind could have been better otherwise perfect Cut Manga -nice Payasam and Gulab jamun - ok

Ambience is really good... Every time I go there with a hope of better attitude from staff and still disappointed. For an expensive restaurant, they should notch up their service...

Good but expensive, overall
Ur basically paying for the ambience
Food was good, but price vs quality ratio is close to average
The interior decoration is worth ur while

Again one of the best places for family outings sadly tasted many dishes never felt like I ate them, Very fancy restaurant and very over whelming as I said felt like we tasted all their dishes :P

This is our first time to annalakshmi, taste of the food is fine. We went there by 2pm, the staff informed us they will close by 3pm.
We ordered tava paratha, Kasai planner and preethi bhojan. Cost for the bhojan is priced high.

While eating the bhojan, the server kept removing the served bowls which still had lot of unfinished portion in it. For few times, we told him not to remove the bowls as we want to finish the rest. We were busy conversing with each other, later we noticed he removed other dishes served for bhojan. And their rice serving portion was very less, one spoon by one. Serve more as per customer requirement, we are not eating for free. We are paying for it. And stop removing bowls having food, without asking the diner.

I would not visit annalakshmi once again.

When I landed in Chennai my FIL took me here , but we were in a shock .. we didn’t have reservations and had to return empty stomach .. don’t worry we went to another great place . I was super fascinated with the over all look of the place and yes the food . Such a lovely light food for vegetarians and their food is absolute delight. My two year old son was only eating their veg pulao and the beans vegetable, it was that good . We went for the thali option and woah .. a feast .. spicy for us as our palate has changed over the years staying in the us, but by Indian standards of spice level it was amazing .. from rasam to spinach pakoras to the payasam everything was perfection .. thanks for a wonderful evening.
Sankaran Narayanan
A must try place for anyone alive. I only opt for the fine dining option where they serve a fixed thali meal. It is surely one of the best restaurants to serve south indian food. I have a lot of die hard non veg eating friends who are yet to get over their inhibitions of having a meal without meat. This is the first place I would take them to enjoy a meal that truly is out of this world. This is a place that has a lot of history and is crowded on most days so make reservations early
Aarthi Kumar
Went here for a large family gathering, seating and decor was great. Their ambience is the highlight and interior woodwork is worth checking out. Food was decent. Overall 4 stars.
Vijayakumar Madhavan
A Decent place situated on Spur Tank Road just opposite to World University Centre. Went for an reception, buffet was served with Soup, Onion Pokoda, Nan, Roti, Dosa, three types of gravies, Chutney for Dosa, Sambar Rice, White Rice, Rasam, Ghee, Curd Rice, Potato Poriyal, four types of Pickle, two types of Appalam and Gulab Jamun, Kesari which was prepared with generous ghee and cashew nut and a cake.

Very nice food tasted great.

Location - 5.0/5.0; Ambience - 5.0/5.0; Food - 5.0/5.0; Service - 5.0/5.0; VFM -5.0/5.0

This is one of the few restaurants in Chennai where the staff and management feel they're doing a favour to the diners...worst attitude I've ever come across - right from the usher to the restaurant staff. And the food is nothing more than below average... Just a fancy looking place serving less than ordinary food and throwing attitude around. Will never ever visit the place ever again.
Siddharth Sridharan
Always make a reservation
Sample all dishes on the Thali

Personally, I love the concept and execution.
Vijay Shekhar
This place is a must visit for any visitor to Chennai to get the real vegetarian taste of South India in a beautiful ambience. A la carte is available, but would recommend going for the various thalis...these are a must try. North Indian cuisine is available, but South Indian is their forte. The food served here can be a good pull for a non-vegetarian to convert to vegetarianism. Service is prompt and with a smile. The price is a little on the higher side...but it's every bit worth it.
TIP: While the thalis are largely unlimited and the servers will promptly serve as many servings of any item on request, it is advisable to just consume the quantity they serve. This ensures that you don't overeat and feel uncomfortable; and delivers the satisfaction of having had a good meal.

We had English visitors and chose to give them a traditional Indian lunch and this was the one that came in mind...it was an amazing experience, the service, variety, quantity food, decor all to the best you can get.we had thali each,Panagam, and a sandalwood and saffron drink.overall 👏🏾👌🏾bill was around 6k but worth it.
Beneath The Flavours
We visited this place for dinner. The ambience was simply awesome, it had a very traditional touch. The place had many beautiful paintings and the interior was beautifully done with teak wood.
We ordered Thali. It started with tomato soup(soup of the day), along with this vadaam comes. Paneer fritters was served as the starter, followed by yummy spinach pakoras. It was soo fresh. Then they serve you Roti with sides of the day. The sides include sundal, raitha, dal makhani, paneer sabji, potatoes and beans. After roti.. pulao and puliogare was served. It tasted heavenly. Next sambar rice was served. I usually hate sambars in restaurants but trust me it was lip smacking. Later white rice was served which could be paired with rasam or vatha kozhambu. No meal ends properly without curd 😂 will it? Fresh curd was used for preparation and it tasted delicious. Finally comes the sweet, we were served gulab jamun and rice payasam. Both tasted really good. Then ice cream of your choice.
All the items can be filled n number of times.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This place is a must visit for vegetarians. I highly recommend this place to all♥️
PS: Do not forget to reserve table before visiting.
Keshav Nagar
An exceptional experience. Food and service overshadowed the glitter around. Each preparation was exquisite as if heart-curated. Humbling to see owners and partners mixing with guests and serving them. And all done for non profit. Phew. Was a fan of their Singapore branch. Glad I visited them in Chennai. All the very best for their cause.

This restaurant is a opulent place with great decor and huge seating space.

We had the thaki of the day and that was one huge affair. It started with veg soup and went on for a long time with 5 veggies, roti, papad, dry fruit pulao, sambhar, rice, vaztha kudi, pineapple rasam, curd rice and desserts.

Phew! Good presentation, great taste and wonderful service. Enjoyed this lunch for sure.

Wonderful place for vegetarian food!

Food - 4/5
Drinks - na
Ambiance -4.5/5
Service -4/5
VFM - 4/5
I’m a pure non vegetarian but I enjoyed dinner here last week.
Reservations are mandatory even on weekdays as the place is totally packed 👍🏼

Loved the thali concept. They do have a la carte as well but would recommend the thali as you get to try their best dishes both in North Indian and South Indian 😍 the dishes change everyday. all dishes on the thali are served in unlimited quantity 🤗😎

Best part was that the north Indian dishes were as good as the South Indian dishes ❤️
Must try the rasam 👌

Priced at around 1050 per head...

They also have banquet halls for private ceremonies 👍🏼
Going to visit their branches in Singapore and Malaysia soon 👌
Shalini Sainath
Superb ambience of the restaurant, loved it. The food was really tasty too.

Poor behavior from the staff. Despite waiting for an hour and a half, they refused us from serving. The staff definitely needs improvement and need to learn basic etiquette.
Pradeep V
Food- 2/10
Service-0/10
Ambience - 7/10
Value for money - 0/10
Food is run of the mill...we can find better and tastier vegetarian food in lot of restaurants in chennai..staff are arrogant..very few items in the menu...nothing special abt the food except for the hype it has...not at all worth the hype...
Aravind S
Poor food and bad hospitality. Not at all worth. No good dishes.Drumstick soup is horrible.Rice stastes very bad.No chappati, no kuruma curry, no cauliflower dishes.
Tushar Vp
An arrogant bunch of people who has least regard for their customers...,

A great place to visit, must try their thali it is just great, they provide soup, starters, variety of main course and desserts such as sweets and ice creams, overall a very great taste of food and service is also great, the supplier or steward that is supervisor in other words they insist to atleast try how it tastes the particular food which in my opinion is a plus point and they recently shifted from Egmore to chetpet which is similar ambiance from former place to latter/existing place, overall everything is quiet great.
Anupama Viswanath
Everything about this place exudes extravagance. Annalakshmi shows you what "Eating like a king" truly means. Mind-blowing menu, with food, every grain of which reminds you of the South of India. A homely hearty meal, at a moderate price, for the number of dishes on the platter.
Would pay a visit again, but this time, after skipping breakfast and lunch.
Srikanth S
The food is very nice. But I would say it's too much of an overload. The portioning of food is appropriate. Not too large. But still the varieties are overwhelming. The greeting, the people , you look at them, and they don't have a hurried body language inspite of the restaurant being packed and people waiting. It's a great leaning. The ambience is fantastic.
Reshma Pawankumar
The best food experience ever! Awesome home-cooked food in a traditional environment. A fine dining experience that everyone should be in for at least once. Worth the money and the experience.
Jinesh
Both, the food quality and service were unworthy of the prices. It is not what it once used to be, definitely not worth a visit. The only decent thing that remains is the ambience it provides.
Hari Srinivasan
Super ambience with good food, courteous service. There seems to be a big difference in the quality between the restaurants in the first and second floor, with first floor being very rich in quality while second a tad bit different from a quality perspective
Foodicallychallenged
Zomatoooo after so long, and it had to be this place ...
Wad actually planning to visit this restaurant for real long but couldn't get a table. Luckily yesterday night my taste buds got a chance to taste this authentic food .
We were 10 people, mob. 😂
We ordered like so many dishes : here it goes......
# vegetable pakoras
# vegetable cheese balls
# paneer fritters
# tomato soup
# plain dosa
# masala dosa
# phulkasss
# paneer methi malai
# dal makhani
# veg fried rice
# dum biriyani
# gajar ka halwa
# lassi
# few more drinks, names of which I forgot .. 😐

To say it all, dining here is an experience. Also every dish was great .. no separate explanations. It was 10/10.

Would really look forward to going here again and again and again....

The slightest bit of concern was that we had booked the 8.30pm slot (the only one we got) and their kitchen closes at 9.00pm, so we were told to rush on ordering which kind of tainted the experience a little bit, but was compensated by the quick service .

Next time will book 1st slot and enjoy the food for long... 😄

#vegparadise ❤️
Food: 7.5/10
Service: 9.0/10
Ambiance: 9.5/10
Value For Money: 8.0/10

Annalakshmi is the exotic veg restaurant located at Spur tank road in chetpet. Surely its looks and feel makes it a class apart. Its interiors are surely making you go awe.
Had to visit the place for a casual dinner party. You can feel the royal ambiance while you dine.
Food was pretty normal and taste for decent.
Tej Kankaria
Extremely arrogant staff with below average food. Half the Pani Puri served by them had broken puris. The staff felt they were doing a favour by obliging to our request of serving a particular food type, hence they had the right to mess it up.
Jaswanth Sharanarthy
Experince lives the brand and upbeat created. Tried Thali both times, Food is good, service is fine but can be trained better for cost of food. Annalakshmi is real Lakshmi.
Sathya
Have been to this place a couple of times. It never got me bored each time. Top class vegetatrian restaurant. Recommen this to veg food lovers. Ambience is amazing. Very peaceful.
Venkat A
We went for the buffet. Frankly the ambience is that of catering / Wedding hall. The tables and cutlery are exactly similar to those at a wedding reception. The feel and the arrangement is spacious since the tables are set in a large banquet hall. The facilities are clean. The food is average and like those served at weddings. The staff are polite and definitely look similar to wedding catering staff. If you want restaurant ambience, feel and service look for something else. Tasty food is available in many places.
Aruna Mani
One of the best place for a satisfying meal. They have maintained their usual ethnic interiors and the ambience of the entire building is very beautiful. The food as usual tasted great and staffs are ever courteous.
Vivek Anand
A true master class veg restaurant in Chennai. One of the best I've ever been too. A bit pricy for their thali. But it's very good. The ambience looks magnificent and ancient.
Vaishnavi Ramesh
Tambrahm fine-dining at its best! This should feature in the must-visit places for any vegetarian in Chennai. Ambience is one of the star highlights of this place(apart from the food, of course).
Bala Subramanian
This place absolutely nails all the qualities required to make it a well rounded offering. The taste and spread were great. The service was excellent and the ambience was good. A special mention to the lighting in this restaurant. It was big bold and highlighted the entire place which in itself imbibed a friendly feel within us. It is a shame that many restaurants don't feel this way and have a very poorly lit environment that makes people lose interest in what they want to eat. I opted for the buffet that was being offered in the second floor and was not disappointed. Totally worth checking out if you are a vegetarian.
Priyadharshini
Went for dinner with my colleagues and everything about this place is so divine! It’s definitely a paradise for vegans and their food is really yummy! We had preethi bhojan and they serve everything at your table! The best part is they don’t add any artificial flavour and everything tasted like home food with an authentic touch! The menu is so huge that yu ll feel so full at the end but don’t miss trying out every dish! Love this place and would definitely Recommend it for vegetarians! 👍🏻
Sumit S
We ordered totally 5 dishes.
Mango rice- must try
Curry Rice -okok
Tamarind rice- authentic taste
Potato fry - good, could have been better
Ladies finger fry- must try, best ever, crispy and tasty

It was a family dinner we had planned on 23rd March. I must say the ambience was really good, vibrant and positive. The statue of Goddess Annalakshmi will grab your attention the moment you enter the restaurant. Staff members were very courteous and the food they served were really delicious. Overall very good experience and would recommend everyone who prefers vegetarian food.
Vidya Iyer
Beautiful restaurant , very classy and divine .staff are extremely polite and responsive . Food is heavenly.
A must visit place for all.
Totally enjoyed the experience.
Very nominally priced for the rich spread they serve .
Bhavya Krishna
undoubtedly the best place in Chennai for authentic South Indian food.. treat to the palate and eyes.. cherry on the cake is the amazing charitable work that they do..
Ramakrishna
The food was good, we went in the evening the South Indian was really awesome and the North Indian which was with the thali was mediocre because their style is like less spicy masalas and oil. Those who like punjabi dhaba like taste won't enjoy.
Sameer Kumar
One of the best vegetarian restaurants in Chennai. Food is traditional south indian and great in taste. Ambiance is even better for those who love a more classic Indian vibe. This is definetly a move away from the boring American-insipired blamd restaurants. Make sure though you book your table in advance on weekends.
Ashwin Gandhi
A must visit & Worth one time visit! Booked the tables like a week before. Though, they informed in the call about the change of address, i ended up in Sigappi Aachi building(the old address). However when i called they guided me clearly and politely. There was a dilemma in the morning abt the plan, but all the time when i called, they handled the call with care.

This new complex is huge and like a Mahal and the restaurant is on the first floor. Had to wait for few minutes even though table was booked well in advance(well, got to know the reason later). The interiors were stunning and it was like dining at a south Indian palace.

The only thali that was available that day was Mahalaxmi Thali(975+tax per person). The meal was elaborate with so many dishes and you will get ample time to enjoy each course.

The north Indian items were just good and the roti was below average. Loved the starters and south Indian items(though it will be just like the items of your house, they were rich and perfect).

Ended with Mysorepak, Gulab Jamun and Icecream!

A must visit indeed but not of the types you can visit n number of times!
