Review Shyams Bombay Halwa House - Chennai (Madras)

Sentamil Selvan
Food was authentic and good in taste. Really enjoyed the food. Ambience will be little kind of damp &gloom(might be their theme). Service was good as well. Dessert - ordered their falooda after tasted came to knew the ice cream used was of old stock. So returned it. P.S - only thing was felt heavy for couple of hours after eating here.🤔

Awesome place. Pure north Indian taste. Choice of non-garlic available. Car parking available. Food was very tasty, multiple choices, excellently cooked. The front desk is very understanding and cooperative with customers. Order taking and table service is chakas. Senior team members are continuously monitoring the service etc. Evening is crowded so there will be waiting time.

Food was good especially Veg Patiala and Punjabi Paneer for the usual Tawa Roti and Butter Naan. Veg Sheekh Kabab starter was equally good. Service was fine.

I've been here twice - a few months back and last week. The food is really good and the service is prompt as well. You don't get network inside the place 😅 the food is quite good and I really liked the paneer tikka! Another highlight was the special lassi which was great. It's a great vegetarian place in the city and they offer valet too!
Smrithi Siddharth
It is a quiet little place tucked away in a busy area like T-Nagar. The signage could be missed easily so I do hope they make it more visible esp in the day time. The ambience is simple and clean. Service is quick and they have a good variety of vegetarian North Indian food. Recommend if u are in the area and crave authentic North Indian food.
Alkesh Mohdure
Food was good. Second time I visited but this time service was little bit slow. Overall taste was good I would recommend Punjabi paneer & Matka paneer . Must try !😊

We tried this place because we had a hankering for good North Indian food. The small exterior door led into a spacious interior with great ambience. The menu had some great options along with dishes that you don't typically see in North Indian restaurants. We tried a few dishes and loved them all. The host was great too and explained to us what the various dishes were. When we finalized a couple, he suggested alternatives for one of them since he felt that the two that we did order wont necessarily pair well each other. Highly recommended.
Kamaleshwar Ravichandran
Food taste was really good. I would recommend to try their paneer dishes. Just we had to wait longer outside.
Nachiappan Sbm
One of the best North Indian restaurants in Chennai. Taste, quality and service are good here. This place will be crowded in weekends, even though they have seats in both ground floor and furry floor you've to wait for a while in peak time. Food items are priced on the expensive side. Desserts quantity is very less for the price they charge.

This is cut out straight from Delhi and is thronged by many, so plan ahead and reach earlier. To give it to you in one line, this has all the exotic Indian delicacies at a slightly costlier price tag. The ambient Desi music and the hanging lights in the ceiling, makes the place alluring enough. There was just one person attending the tables and it was only when prompted he fetched us the water. If not for that this would get 5⭐ in every category. If you are here, go for the Paneer Bhurji Masala and Butter Phulka. You too will fall for its charms.🤩

This is a pure veg restaurant at t nagar, to reach here you have to take the flyover after crossing tnagar bus stop, then getting down from flyover have to make a u turn to take left opposite to the flyover side. Follow Google map its perfect. This restaurant from outside it looks like it is closed or not clean, but inside it looks new and neat. A soft slow music running behind. Entrance need to be taken care off. We ordered mushroom soup, naan, mushroom fries, Masala papad, veg koftha, corn cheese balls. My favourite will be corn cheese balls, I will order it again if I visit again. Food which we ordered was all good, table service was also good. It wasn't suffocating inside but very minimal area to walk till hand wash area. Don't over order food and waste it.

The Place was Neat and Clean and Staffs were also Friendly, so we had no trouble with that place. And the Dish I liked the Most from what I tried is "Baby Corn Manchurian", So I recommend you guys also to try it when you visit this place.
Jawahar Pattamadai Babu
Small spaced outlet serving North Indian vegetarian food. Not spacious, but not too packed either. Excellent service. Food is decent, though most of the gravies are quite standard in taste. Paneer dishes are good. Kulfi Falooda and Special Lassi is very good. Ironically, a place named Halwa doesn't offer any kind of halwa in the menu.
Swetha balu (swe)
We made an unplanned visit to this restaurant while shopping in T. Nagar. Excellent ambiance. We got butter roti with panner butter masala. Their Panner was mouthwatering. Even now, I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. Couples and families can come here and experience their finger-licking-good.
Prashant Hyalij
Food taste is delicious. Even thali in lunch is also nice. If you are looking for true 'North Indian' food in T nagar, then this is the right option. Staff is co-operative. I liked the rabdi very much.
Ankit Shah
Have eaten jain punjabi sabji from here since last 2 weeks daily and also had various dal and rice, the paneer the use in sabji is of premium quality , very soft and the food is always piping hot and fresh . Undoubtedly best jain food in Chennai.<br/>

Superb food. Paneer pasanda will forever be in my thoughts. Was on their anniversary and got a complimentary slice of ice cream. Best wishes. Delivery thali was a bit meh though.
Sriram R
Soup, Phulka and side dish were quite good. However, the Kashmiri Pulav was a let down - just few dry fruits and bits of vegetables were placed on top of plain basmati rice. Flavor was missing
Ramakrishnan Balasubramanian
Went on a Sunday afternoon, liked the ambience, small and Iiked the nonsense feel of the place. Service was quick and food was good, i felt the kashmiri Pulao was too sweet. Good place to go near Panangal Park for northie food!

They’ve recently renovated the place. I’ve been there several times over but my experience last night was underwhelming. Absolute lack of coordination among the waiters. Orders were misplaced thrice on our table. The waiter showed total apathy. Management needs to look into this.
Janani
Customer service was not up to the expectations despite the long wait time. Staff were unable to manage the large crowd and manpower was lacking. The restaurant management should have anticipated the crowd given that it is the weekend before new year. Staff were curt and unpleasant. Overall it was not a good experience :(
Enthu Explorer
Good experience and taste was good of the main course and starters
Apurvapunita04
The pudina paratha was raw inside. Not cooked properly. Ordered through Swiggy
Reshma Krishnan
This place justifies its rating. Exceptional service, amazing food and complete value for money. The recommendations by the waiter were really good. Satrangi Sabzi & Punjabi Paneer are a must try. <br/>Overall very satisfying experience!!!!Must visit for North Indian cuisine in Chennai.
Raghu Krishnan
Good Service and courteous staff. Food was simply superb. Tried Paneer Tikka, Cheese Garlic Kulcha, Bhindi Masala, Baby corn pakoda and Lassi.<br/>Only let down was babycorn pakoda. <br/>
Shahil Islam
Great place..been there lot many times. Must try the Punjabi thali. Just they don't serve it on weekends. I like the ambiance too. Good place as a whole.

A safe haven for those who want to steer clear of non vegetarian food. Suitable for friends, family and all age groups. They offer a variety of dishes for vegetarians with assured quality and taste. Mild lighting, pebble decorated dining table and soft music calm you down while the order is prepared. The only inconvenience is that, it's always occupied and you have to wait for sometime to get a table. Pre-booking might save you a lot of time !
Chandrasekharaprasad Sankaran
Good panner tikka and other north indian items . Not as good as it was in past . Prices are reasonable . Must visit atleast once . Used to be really good in 2016-17

After a long time visited Shyam's Bombay Halwa House in tnagar. Though my previous visit was not too satisfactory, they have improved quite a bit now. In terms of service, food quality and quantity it was worth the price. The taste is authentic and the restaurant always seem to overflow with people. Probably one of the very few good North Indian restaurants in Tnagar that can offer a good variety. The naans were very soft and the dishes were also enough for three people. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a nice family dinner.
Bala Subramanian
I managed to discover yet another gem of a restaurant today. Everything about this place right from the ambience to the taste of the food to the service was downright amazing. The food was delivered quickly and it looked like we hardly ever waited for anything not considering the initial one hour wait time as the place was full. I understood the reason for the demand after my time was done. An absolute must try place for vegetarians and yeah, the cost was pretty nominal as well.
Akrithi Jain
It's my all time favorite place.<br/>They've the best food all the time.<br/>Suggestions- masala papad, paneer tikka, paneer butter masala, naan, tawa pulav , Paan ice cream.<br/><br/>The service is really bad at times. They waiters don't behave that great!!
Sunitha Krishnamoorthy
A decent food joint located in the heart of tnagar..usually very crowded with a long wait time on week ends.<br/>Went for a lunch with a friend at 12pm on a sunday afternoon and luckily we were the first ones in the restaurant.<br/>Ordered buttermilk which was really cool for the scorching heat. Baby corn fry was juz average while the panner lababdar was awesome. The phulka's were soft and thin. Overall a good place.
Srinath Sekar
As I am a regular visitor to this place,I decide to dine out with my family. Because of the long weekend we had to wait a long time to get a table. The dishes were sumptous and the quality of the food was par with our expectations. It would be nice if they introduce the table booking option as it can help in reducing the waiting time

Tucked away in a residential street in the heart of T. Nagar, this place serves excellent and authentic North Indian fare. Ambience cool and comfortable, service very helpful and prompt. Food excellent. What more can you ask. Had the stuffed paneer tikka for starters. It was superb with the right mix of spices. The paneer was soft and succulent. Ordered the Sindhi koki. Just perfect. The phulkas too were good. The malai kofta was the highlight. Not at all sweetish like in most places. Ordered the punjabi paneer which was not in the menu. But it was too good. The tawa pulao was cooked to perfection. My only grouse was this came along with the rotis, and by the time we finished the rotis and came to the pulao it had turned cold. Wish they pay attention to these small things. Rabdi as dessert was divine. A great place to have a satisfying North Indian food in chennai. I would have given five star, if not for the cold pulao.

Ordered Mushroom fried rice, hariyali Paneer tikka, Aloo paratha, masala papad and rabdi.<br/><br/>Mushroom fried rice - They did perfect justice to this dish. The fried rice had that slight umami flavour to it with bite sized slices of good mushroom.<br/><br/>Hariyali Paneer tikka- Perfectly marinated soft and tender Paneer that would melt in our mouth.<br/><br/>Aloo paratha- The usual aloo paratha. No complaints right on point.<br/><br/>Masala papad - The papad was topped with this tomato, onion salad mixed with right amount of salt. I am not someone who likes papad. But this was too good. Gave me a slight nacho and salsa feel.<br/><br/>Rabdi(Basundi) - Perfect desert with the right amount of sweetness and creamy goodness of milk. Most of the places might make it little too sweet. But this was so perfect the sweetness was right on meter.<br/><br/>Definitely should appreciate their service. For a Sunday afternoon it was slightly busy. But still they made sure that the water was refilled each time the glass went empty and they removed the plates then and there.<br/><br/>What I really liked about this restaurant was that the dishes were not like overwhelming with flavours and taste. But all the dishes were on point. They tasted exactly like how each and every dish should taste like.<br/><br/>

This place is too good. They serve authentic North Indian food. The Paneer Tikka is just too good. The sabzis and pulao's are amazing. Would highly recommend this place

One of The best veg hotel I have went. The panner were the best and the most softest and the starters were good too. Will definitely recommend you to choose this one.

Its been a very long time since I visited this place. I’ve blogged about my last and perhaps my only visit here. A friend and I were specifically looking for a vegetarian Thali in an around T. Nagar. Both of us being good eaters, we had made up our minds for an elaborate Thali from Shyam’s Bombay Halwa House.

Must visit place for people who are looking for North Indian veg food.... Location is easy to identify.... No need to worry about parking as even though it is a small road Valet parking service is there... Ambiance is good the existing space has been utilized properly to accommodate around 50 members at a time..<br/><br/>Service is very good and quick... courtesy enough to suggest alternate items based on our need and all of the were good.<br/><br/>Normally i don't prefer going to pure vegetarian restaurant but due to compulsion from high command I ended up here.... Once after entering this place there is no regrets... we ordered<br/><br/>Tomato Soup - not so thick but taste was awesome<br/><br/>Chandini Panner tikka - one of the softest panner I have tasted and it melts in you mouth<br/><br/>Cheese balls - Absolutely delicious... i have seen this in almost all the tables<br/><br/>Tawa Gopi Paratha - OK personally not to my liking<br/><br/>Paneer naan - Soft and good<br/><br/>Cheese Garlic kulcha - soft and good<br/><br/>Mushroom Mutter Masala - well prepared and went well with the paratha, kulcha and naan<br/><br/>Special Lassi - Thick Lassi with malai... yummy and is a must try<br/><br/>Kulfi Falooda - Falooda topped with Kesar Kulfi again it is a must try<br/><br/>Chocolate Icecream - Usual one nothing more <br/><br/>Overall bill came around 1500+ which is worth.... definitely visiting again to taste their tawa pulav, butter milk and other items
Aparna Ramachandran
The food was great, with large portion sizes. Staff is incredibly friendly and answered our questions patiently. A person in our group had a dairy allergy and they were very considerate. Would definitely come again.
Reverie Point
After a long week at work, I was looking forward to catching up with a friend. The place was supposed to be a surprise to my north Indian friend.<br/>However, that was not to be.<br/><br/>We ordered paneer tikka which was good. The rotis and paneer subzi were average. The food was definitely over-priced. We felt it wasn't justified considering the quality or taste wasn't as exceptional. Being pretty crowded, the service was also a let down. We had to keep asking for the bill.<br/><br/>I'm not really looking forward to visiting this place anytime soon.
Rishabh Kothari
Any paneer lovers out there?? Probably the best place for you to visit! Mouth watering paneer Tikka which is super soft. Amazing taste... Oh wait! Can u go here and come out without praising their buttermilk? No doubt 90% of the tables will have atleast one bottle of the chass 😍 Ambiance is very comfortable too!
Ganesh KS
The best in town for paneer Tikka. Ambience is so good. Wait time was not so high. Was able to get a seat within 5 mins. Service was also so good. Worth for money that we pay.<br/>Best dishes not to be missed : paneer Tikka, Gobi Manchurian, pan ice cream, Malai methi, falooda.
Aparna Gomathy
One of the best North Indian food i had in Chennai. The Paneer 65 was just mouth watering and Tawa Pulao was also very good.<br/>The staff were polite and courteous.
Pradeep
Fantastic place to get North Indian food. Love their koki, makki roti, missi roti and sarson ka saag. Don't forget the paneer tikka! :) I wish they also include Bajra roti and baati on their menu.

Had heard a lot about this restaurant, so defenitely it was on a must visit list.<br/>So we went there this Sunday evening, reaching at around 9:00 pm and were given a promise that we will get our seats in 30 mins. However we got it after 10:10 pm, such waiting period..!<br/>Ordered for food while standing in queue itself, what an experience..:!<br/>Baby corn pakodas were different but not that great.<br/>And then came the main course, we had ordered for dal fry, chole and paneer with naans.<br/>Out of which, dal fry was standout completely. One of the best dal fry in Chennai. Chole and paneer were average. But overall we felt our north indian taste buds were satiated.<br/>We also had ordered for butter milk and lassi which was not cold but tasted good.<br/>Good food but service needs to be pulled definitely..!<br/>Yeah, will go again..!
Tushar K
it was excellent tasty value of money
Raj Kumar
Panned butter masala was horrible and naan was so hard to eat , once of the was worst food , no value for money
Srinithi Raman
I went for lunch on Sunday with my friends<br/>They took 20mins to allot seats which made me go wild in hungry but their food made me go crazy<br/>We ordered chilli babycorn for starter which quantity was less for 4ppl to share then ordered cheese garlic naan and butter naan with paneer achari masala .They served butter naan of 3nos in each plate which was sufficient for us And finally with tawa pulavo it was great as it was served hot but quantity and taste could be improved<br/>They have great taste of paneer gravies<br/>Don't fail to try it out here<br/><br/>My advice is don't go for pulavo kind better spend that value of money in rotis and gravies<br/><br/>VFM 5/5<br/>Service 3.5/5<br/>Taste 10/5<br/>
Roma Rajani
food is good, but the packaging was poor that spilled the gravy out of the container
Meera Venkat
The service is great. The quality of food is declining nowadays. Cheese balls is brilliant and also their paneeer is just wooooow. A place to visit with family. :)
Radha Bhaskar
Good place for authentic North Indian food. Staff are courteous & their service is also fast. Food quality is decent & not spicy or oily. Pricing is also moderate.
Shylajhaa
If you are a person looking forward to vegetarian restaurants, this place should be on top of your list. Good, tasty North Indian food that are not too spicy is one of the huge pros. Customer service is also excellent. Overall, its a small place with great food at affordable prices.
Srikanth S
Very good and clean food. I have only ordered in from this place. But when I have the food. I can quite imagine how clean the kitchen would be. A very very good place. Their chaas is out of the world. Very much on the expensive side. That's disappointing.
Abhishek
If you are looking for pure veg Restaurant then this is right place for you.<br/><br/>One of the oldest and famous hotel in town.<br/><br/>We ordered, Garlic Naan , Paneer kadahi , Mushroom chilli, Pepper baby corn, all food item are fresh and so delicious in taste, Specially this restaurant serves exact Garlic Naan, which we are looking for always. Definitely recommend to others.<br/> <br/><br/>Food : 4/5<br/><br/>Service : 4/5<br/><br/>Ambiance : 3/5

Being a non vegetarian, We don't opt for a vegetarian restaurant much.I would have visited this place for more than 6 to 7 times, I never got bored of visiting Bombay Halwa house. If you are a vegetarian and looking for good north indian restaurant for a decent dining experience. This is the place. They have a variety of options for starters to maincourse.<br/><br/>Orders :Chilly babycorn manchurian,Paneer tikka, masala kulcha, roti & Veg biryani.<br/><br/>I have tried masala kulcha in other places but none of the other restaurants could beat the taste of Bombay Halwa house. It is my personal favourite.<br/><br/>There was nothing much to complain about any dishes in specific.<br/><br/>But the service was really slow.We had to ask them for water or plates everytime.<br/>One other drawback is that, Though this place is little hard to locate as it is located on a small lane in T. Nagar. It is crowded most of the days.Either you will have to dine in early or you should be ready to wait.<br/><br/>Service - 3.5<br/>Ambience - 3.5<br/>Food - 4.5<br/><br/>

To one amazing and lovely veg outlet I’ve ever visited. I’ve become a slave to their dishes which is jus too lovely and tasty. The panner should be a priority dish as it’s yummylicious. These soft and tender paneer are freshly made and worth tasting it. The stuffed panner tikka is totally amazing and the mushrooms are lip smacking. Just don’t forget to taste the special lassi tats saved for the dessert which is very tasty. The pan ice cream is a signature.
Abhishek Kumar
Awesome food, food served was very fresh Good staff. Milijuli paneer subji was mouth watering . Ambience is nice.<br/>Prices worth the taste<br/>Quantity served was good . Roti was soft and north indian style . Rice items were very tasty.

Authentic North Indian restaurant !!!<br/><br/>Been to this restaurant 20+ times !! 💖<br/>Two most important things that always drive me to this restaurant are :<br/>1. Service !!<br/>2. Bombay Halwa House ...A Family dinner ✌️<br/><br/>I got to know about this place through Zomato only...<br/>I went in for weekdays lunch with my parents.I followed Google map to reach the Restaurant. Its located in a street and if your in a four wheeler, then you have to search and park in the street itself.<br/><br/>Ambiance - It's a small restaurant place, can accommodate only 25 max people at a time.Hopefully it wasn't crowded when we went.Just had to wait for few minutes only. The atmosphere was okayish. The restaurant wasn't that clean as expected. There was this one bad smell which was bothering while having lunch. The seating arrangements are little conjusted if you choose to sit in sofa dining. So Try to avoid sitting in sofa !<br/><br/>Food - There is a whole lot of variety available if your Paneer Lover ❤️ Any dish of Paneer is good and super tasty.I Chose to have Paneer fingers and Veg sheek Kabab.I actually ordered Reshmi Kabab but the waiter Refused and suggested Sheek Kabab as my choice wasn't available. Paneer Fingers were crispy from outside and soft from inside ...They were mind Blowing 😋<br/>I didn't like much of Seekh kabab..Not got in taste.<br/><br/>Also Ordered Aloo Paratha,Roti and Masala Kulcha with Dum Aloo as gravy.Indian breads are great here. They were served Hot and The stuff inside the bread was exact and perfect.Later We ended with Tawa Veg Pulav...The presentation was good and the taste was nice. The spices and the vegetables were of exact amount and the quantity was great for the price.<br/><br/>Service - The management was courteous and helpful but there was one guy who was overhelpful which I didn't like it.It was like he needed more of attention from us and was suggesting the dishes according to his likes and not writing out our choices. So please,My advice is to respect our choices first and after that you can suggest your thing.Otherwise the order was served on time and the work with presentation was good.<br/><br/>VFM - It was nominal for the food we had.<br/><br/>Overall,I just want them to maintain the restaurant clean and keep up the great work serving customers in their choices ✌️<br/><br/>Will visit again 👍<br/>

This is a very good place and the dishes are very well inside budget.. Especially the thali is phenomenal.. Some starters are so great and some are not so.
Brindha Rajangam
Located in one of the quiet streets of The Nagar, Bombay Halwa House has a very decent ambience for a good conversation.<br/><br/>We ordered chilly baby corn, paneer tikka masala, rotis and veg biriyani. The quantity was good enough and the price was nominal too. Paneer gravy was a bit too spicy. But flavours in other foods were real good!<br/><br/>Could be made better by making their service a little quicker.<br/><br/>Must try for vegetarians.<br/><br/>
Abhilash .J
Best place ever. Paneer starters and tawa pulav is a must have in this place. I wish they could home deliver to velachery or start one here!!
Animesh Anshu
Nice food and much needed diversified menu in Chennai. Courteous staff and quick service. We ordered many dishes and each dish was better than other. The phulka roti was also very good.A must visit restaurant.

Oh where to start, where to start! I was searching for a place that would give me authentic vegetarian North Indian food (far too many places have duped me with their sambar-y rajma and chole). And this place didn't disappoint.<br/>The halwa house is not very easy to find because it's not on the thoroughfare, but this only adds to the general quaint charm of the place.<br/>We went for a weekday dinner and therefore were quite surprised to find the place full. Families, mostly. We didn't get a table for two, instead shared a table for six with another couple (mother and daughter).<br/>Let's now talk about the food.<br/>It was scrumptious! They spoil you for choice, they really do. There's about 40 starters, and twice the number of side dishes. The number of Indian breads are endless. They have a selection of rice as well.<br/>We ordered masala papad, the stuffed mushroom tikka, kaju paneer and butter roti. The food was excellent! The tikka was divine. Kaju paneer was slightly sweet (we were warned by the waiter) however the paneer was soft and broke as soon as we speared it with roti.<br/>My mouth waters as I think of this place again. Will definitely keep going there!

Visited this restaurant as the rating and review was good, but their service very bad. Rude staff behavior. Worst service. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Chandni paneer tikka from shyamsbombayhalwahouse ♥<br/><br/>If you are a paneer tikka lover, then this place would be your heaven. A soothing list of paneer tikka varieties are available. This place offers authentic North Indian food.<br/><br/>This is one of the best tikka I have ever had. The paneer was very delicate and it melts in your mouth. It is served with some salad. Do try this appetiser when you visit this place.<br/><br/>"Chilli mushroom" from "Shyam's Bombay Halwa House" 😍<br/>.<br/>.<br/>You might've heard of fungi to be poisonous and toxic. Well, this one too, the chilli mushroom, best served hot at Shyam's Bombay halwa house, near T-nagar at GN Chety road is simply poisoned with flavors and spice, all mixed at the right amount. A must try dish if you ever come this way.<br/><br/>These two are my favourites❤️ and also garlic naan and tawa pulav are really good<br/><br/>Follow @paradise_of_flavours on Instagram for more exciting reviews on food and unseen places.😊<br/><br/>Price : 210<br/><br/>Food : 5/5<br/>Ambience : 4/5<br/>Service :4.5/5<br/>Shyam's Bombay Halwa House

Good Place for North Indian<br/><br/> A place that serves great North Indian Food. The best part is the bottle of masala chaas (spiced buttermilk). I love it personally. Chandini Paneer tikka is a must try here. The paneer is so yum and soft. Their tawa phulka is so soft. A must try indeed. A wide range of North Indian dishes and lip smacking gravies. The taste is really good and portion size is also good. Ambiance is not that great as it is a very small place. ,Crowded most of the time. Try this out if you are looking for a good vegetarian restaurant that specializes in North Indian.<br/><br/>Ambiance - 3.5<br/>Service-4<br/>Food- 4.5<br/>Price-4.5

Great ambience, Beautiful music and great food too!<br/>Thoroughly enjoyed being there.<br/><br/>Panner is their speciality.<br/>Tried their thali. Was satisfied with the quality and quantity ☺️

Best place ever. The paneer is to die for. Had my friend's birthday and they allowed to bring a cake and have fun. They were so courteous. loved the stuffed paneer, and paneer tikka especially.

I used to love this place like no other. But I'm afraid to say that the taste and service has detoriated. We ordered butter rotis and paneer tikka masala. The rotis were good but the curry was oversalted. The waiter also was very rude and didn't care about the customer. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you’re a paneer tikka lover, visit this place in Chennai for sure...Long list of paneer tikka varieties are available.<br/>My personal favourite is Chandani paneer tikka.<br/>Garlic Naan and Dal makhni combination over here is simply one of the best in town.<br/>Plus it’s cost friendly too.<br/>Don’t go for ambiance.<br/>It’s a veggie paradise for North Indian cravings.<br/>The only thing lacking is a good dessert menu but the main course totally compensates it.

A good place to have proper North Indian and Sindhi Food. A must visit place to try out Sindhi food. For North Indian the laccha paratha Paneer Butter Masala and Cheese Paneer tikka are my favourite and must try.

A fantastic place to go for vegetarians. The extremely soft paneer tikka soothes ur taste buds like nothing else. The chilli babycorn was crispy and delicious. The ambience can be improved though. The place gets pretty crammed on weekends. Value for money. If you are looking for a good hearty vegetarian North Indian meal in Chennai, try it out.

Amazing place. We came here at night, starving as hell. We spotted this place on zomato. The ambience was nice. The service is amazing. There are atleast 20 waiters who are always taking care of u. Now the main part. The food was heavenly. We ordered dal makhani, punjabi paneer and butter roti. Trust me that you won't get such dal ij chennai. Lassi was okayish. But pineapple raita id a must. Great place. Will visit again.

A really tiny place, gets noisy when crowded and located in a tiny street.. Food is good and price is OK. Service is not the best. Veggie lovers will like this place, neutrals can skip this one..<br/>

Pocket friendly restaurant and a savior when you want to head out and eat unplanned . Have been to this restaurant on multiple occasions with larger groups. Service is very prompt. Can get really crowded on weekends since they have no table reservations and it’s FCFS. Must try dishes are their paneer tikka. The paneer is so soft and melts in your mouth. The taste keeps reminiscing 😊Also their masala chaas after heavy food its one thing which you can’t miss . <br/><br/>Taste 4.5/5<br/>Ambience 3/5<br/>Service 4/5

Great place for veggie lovers,<br/>Ambience - pretty decent place but can't call it great.<br/>Food - great food here, veg biryani is really good and any paneer starter is outstanding. Buttermilk is must have<br/>Service - Good service and friendly staff.

One of the few places which serves authentic Sindhi food in Chennai. Dint disappoint this time too.. we ordered mixed vegetable makhanwala and rotis... Both were sumptuous.. service also was prompt..

Went there a few times after shopping around T Nagar. It’s one of the best North Indian veg cuisine you’ll get in the locality.<br/><br/>You must try buttermilk. Very friendly staff. Seating capacity is low. Overall experience is really good.<br/><br/>Must try. Budget friendly.<br/><br/>Ambience: 4<br/>Food: 4<br/>Service: 4

Their tomato soup is an excellent select. We had masala papad, dragon panneer ,koki roti, ghee tawa roti, tawa pulao, cashew masala, and a lassi to end.<br/><br/>Koki roti is an excellent dish served by them. Rest all were good.<br/><br/>Would recommend this place. Price is worth for the dishes.quantity is also good.came with a lot of hunger. So worth it.<br/><br/>

Your service, ambience n above all the food you guys provide is simply superb. One suggestion. The food is kinda too rich. Would be perfect if you can make it a tad healthier. Keep up the good work.

A good option for people seeking vegetarian food only. The starters are nice with a good quantity, the main course is filled with the usual paneer options, mushroom etc. We tried the kaju curry which was nice but on the sweeter side. The soups are not so great so avoid if you can, overall good experience.

We went there for a team lunch.<br/>We had ordered all 4 course.<br/>The rating I can give honestly is 3.5 over all.<br/><br/>The soup were mediocre. We had hot and sour (not upto the mark) and tomato soup (which was good).<br/><br/>The starters were spicy and tasty, we tried almost all of them. They were pretty decent. Spl mention to Paneer Tikkas as they were the stars among starters with many flavours and many options.<br/><br/>For Main courses we had rotis and rice varieties. Side dishes were decent.. Special mention that the Rotis were lip smacking and the gravies did justice to their names.<br/><br/>Desserts were falooda ice cream, rabdi and kulfi falooda.. <br/><br/>Food - 3.5/5<br/>Ambience - 4/5<br/>Hospitality - 4/5<br/>Overall rating - 3.5/5

Have been here a couple of times. The food here absolutely top notch especially the cheese balls and the final buttermilk which is nostalgic. The ambience is good and usually the place is crowded on the weekends and you will have wait for sometime as this is kinda small restaurant. This place is not pricy and definitely a delight for pure vegetarians. The is nothing much to complain about the food(actually nothing 😜). <br/><br/>Conclusion: if u r a vegetarian then you should definitely check this place out once.<br/>

Loved their veg zalfreizi..and tawa pulav.. had sweet corn mushroom soup were mushroom was bit raw.. chilly baby corn and crispy vegetables tasted almost the same.. boondhi raita and a papad dish were ultimate among everything.. service was quick despite the crowd :)

Located in GN chetty road. The place is a bit cramped especially on weekends. This place offers authentic north indian food. Tried the paneer tikka and kichia for starters. The paneer was soft and succulent. The flavours were just right. The kichia was masala pappad. Tasted fine. For mains tried the garlic naan and dal makhni. The naan was crisp and delicious. The dal makhni was the only mediocre dish of the day. It didn't have the ususal thick consistency. The prices are very nominal. Definitely worth a visit.

It is a lovely place for a meal though the food is amazing and you can't get such good food in the city . The bug disappoinment is the ambience and the seating is a bit cramped . The food is good , this the reason many people come here bot worrying about the Ambience . The rating includes the Ambience rating to . The service is quick . Recommended time for dinner is around 7 to avoid the wait time.

This restaurant was long pending in my list and finally we visited yesterday. We ordered a tomato soup and a lemon coriander soup for the appetizer. Both of these were really flavourful and yummy. We jumped directly to the main course for which we ordered a paneer lababdar and a kadai vegetable. This was accompanied by phulkas ,butter Nan and a masala kulcha. The phulkas were soft .so were @the other breads . The gravies complemented the breads and hence flavours singing in our mouth . The best part was the paneer lababdar. Extremely soft, creamy and less greasy .for dessert we ordered a rabdi .the rabdi was less sweet and not upto the mark . nevertheless it was a good experience for all of us.<br/>Things to improve<br/>1.desserts<br/>2 . Ambience<br/><br/>

The food is much better than poonamalle high road in my experience, the taste of the tomato soup is same as P.H.Road,the starters where good except Gobi manchurian because we told them to make crispy and they replied they will but it was not that crispy and it was very sweet because of chinese/tomato sauce they put a lot,the paneer tikka is awesome and stuffed mushrom tikka is spicy and authentic which we liked it, except gobi manchurian which should have been crispy, the other starters where good, had roasted khichiya with red chilly powder was excellent and coming to maincourse ordered dal makhani,it was far better than P.H.Road it tastes good and in subzi ordered channa paneer it is brilliant,in breads we ordered makki ki roti, ajwain naan, cheese garlic naan, butter roti and aloo paratha it tasted good,in last ordered bottle of butter milk it was refreshing, sour in taste which would normally be expected, overall the service, price and more importantly food was great, will come back again.

Well I heard alot about this place and it's Food. I was here with my friends for dinner. We ordered Cheese balls for starters and for main course we had paneer butter masala with butter roti & Gobi kulcha. The food was okay. I was expecting it to be better. The staff was friendly. The ambience is okay nothing fancy about it.

The dirtest restaurant I have been to in recent times. Food was good but the place was very dirty. High time you guys give importance to hygiene and cleaniness.

The hotel is on Govindu Street, 2 streets away from the North Usman Road GRT. There was a queue and we had to wait for 10 minutes to get a table. When I visited there last time around 2015, it only had the ground floor and was great. Now they have expanded to the first floor and yet the queue is still pouring in since it’s a weekend. The girl knew Hindi and asked some to the person who took names for the table. Hindi ithukuthan use aaguthu pola. Jain food is served on request. Great!<br/><br/>Going away from the usual trend, we ordered main course and were glancing at the menu card for a long time. Had some doubts regarding the starters and got it cleared with the waiter. Then we told them to hold on the main course and bring the starter first.<br/><br/>Veg Sheekh Kebab – INR 190/-<br/><br/>Great starter that I thought to try as we chose a Paneer dish in main course. Masala of the Vegetables and paneer (in bits though) are mixed and deeply fried. This tasted fabulous. I had more pieces than her and literally with the served green chutney it tasted bliss. Must try. Good enough for 2 people.<br/><br/>Masala Kulcha – INR 70/- & Kulcha – INR 50/-<br/><br/>Naan, Paratha and the other usual templates are always there in any restaurant and I thought to have a mix of both Kulcha and Masala shared. Ordered the same and it was great. With all the ghee overflowing through some areas of the kulcha and corainder cut into tiny particles and sprinkled over, the stuff present was a good amount.<br/><br/>Paneer Tikka Masala – INR 190/-<br/><br/>The main star of the day is finally here. Paneer tikka masala with the red capsicums cut into big pieces and it was fully immersed in the red gravy. Paneer pieces were large my god! It was size of 2 Faber Castle erasers. The butter over the gravy made me dive into it completely. Wow! Tasted excellent and I wasn’t disappointed. Good job team! There was still some gravy left and you know as a south Indian we generally, finish it off. I ordered a plain roti (INR 25/-) and finally the gravy went into our tummies till the pre-last drop.<br/><br/>No going to the page of rice and noodles. We were full. Done! Bill costed us INR 620/- with 18% GST. She paid the bill. I got lucky for the 2nd time.

An excellent place to have authentic north Indian food. The paneer here is so soft and excellent. A wide variety of parathas such as aloo and Gobi are served. The Gobi Manchurian is also a must have. Easy on the pocket. Cost 700 for two people

Finally after a big discussion we ended up here.Bombay halwa house is purely a vegan restaurant. To be honest it wasn't satisfying enough but make sure you definitely try out the Paan ice cream in the end :)
