One should have never missed this place when coming to besant nagar. Tried this place for the first time and boy I loved it. Absolutely loved their burger and sizzlers. Starters were also too good and the staff especially Luna was so prompt to offer and service us at best timing. Coming to the desserts , loved their lemon mint cooler and sizzling brownie. Must visit place for their burgers. Do try the place when you are at besant nagar.

Nice ambiance and great service. Best italian food. Also have sizzler’s and stake , Chinese cuisine , Indian cuisine. Good taste served hot.

I recently dined at Pupils Restaurant with a group of eight friends, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The "From Paris with Love" burgers were a delightful twist, bursting with flavors that transported us to the streets of Paris. The lime soda was refreshingly crisp, the chili beef wings packed a perfect punch, and the sizzling brownie was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. A special shout-out to Alex, our server, whose attentiveness and friendly demeanor added to the overall enjoyment of our evening. We went back to this place after 15 years which brought back a lot of memories. We had an outstanding experience at Pupils Restaurant! The "From Paris with Love" burgers were a delightful blend of flavors, and the lime sodas were refreshing. The chili beef wings added a perfect kick, and the sizzling brownie was a divine dessert choice which was a compliment. Alex, our server, provided exceptional service, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance and attention to detail truly made this meal memorable. The place is very pleasant to sit and dine with. Rhey have both inside and outside dine in options. During day it might be hot outside but they have seating inside. It's a good place to sit and enjoy with your family ir loved ones. Yhe weather is very good During the evening.

We had different types of sizzlers and steak... Meat were finely cooked. It was good experience. Tried Andre& Steffi, Jordan's favourite, San Marino, Bellucci & lewinsky... They provide compliments for every plate.... Compliment options are cheese ball, chicken wings, chicken nuggets... If you decide to eat sizzlers and steak outside, better transfer them to normal plate, otherwise it would be very hot to eat ( in iron plate) ... Finally they provided one brownie as compliment.... Also a water bottle.... Places seems like friendly for pets... Staff are very friendly... This place is pricey...

They know how to make burgers. I’ve not tasted other dishes from them. But their burgers are top-notch. But the lower half of the burger bun was really hard. They could have made it soft. Prawn fingers were good. Their batter is thick. But the batter is not tasteless. The dip was tasty too. Cold coffee was passable.

It's a good spot in bessy to have a quick lunch. They have wide range of veg and non veg dishes. Good quality food served. The price is manageable. They have good ambience as they can serve more than 20 people at a time.

The Food was amazing!! I'm no foodie but I can tell you that the food was cooked to perfection. Crispy on one side and soft and full of flavour on the other. By the time we finished our mains I think it's safe to say we were both in food heaven and absolutely did not need desert @tuang

Pros: The restaurant has nice ambinence with beach side view. Starters and north indian dishes were good. Crispy chilli beef was top notch Cons: Please dont order briyani here, it was very worst with no taste, we cancelled it after tasting it Pizza was not good, they used a cheap readymade pizza base.

Went to this restaurant with minimal expectations but really surprised. Can get variety of foods at one place. Amazing fresh foods. Excellent taste. Nominal cost. Complimentary brownie with sizzler. Excellent service by Arjun Kumar Singh. He was really nice and friendly.

Awesome food experience. Best place to try burgers. Best restaurant to meet all criteria of food quality, quantity, customer friendly . Am so luck today my orders was taken care by frankie. He was very customer friendly and he have answered all my questions about the dishes in very detail and suggested the best food for us. As on 18.06.2020, i have ordered 4 burgers viz. cowboy, chicken tikka, veg classic and student burgers from pupil burgers besant nagar. While on advertisement claimed every burger accompanied with french fries. Excited by the looks and features i have ordered the above burgers through zomato app. After nearly 20min of my order suspecting a delay i had called the delivery person to check the status, he informed me that he was waiting at the shop for nearly 15min and no one was assisting or updating him of our order. Then after 1 hour of my order, my food was finally delivered. Not to mention delay from pupils end only. Upon receipt of my order, i was shocked to see that the burgers were substandard and the patties were barely cooked. It appeared as if it was smeared in vegetable oil and packed with age old onions which was stinking terrible. The non vegetarian (chicken) seem to be refrigerated old meat. Then on the advertised fries, it was missing. I had tired to call back to pupil to share my experience And to check on the missing fries for the expensive bill i paid, but the phones were not in use. Altogether it was a terrible experience with stale food at pupil that was thrown in dustbin and proceeded with my refrigerated dosa batter and pickle to my rescue. totally it was a wrong choice to have them on zomato.

The best of all items ordered was the Bavarian chicken sizzler. It came with piping hot chicken dipped in cream sauce, with potato wedges and garlic bread. This item was heavenly and scrumptious. The chicken was well cooked and the flavour was right on bull's eye. Never miss this if you go here. (Rs.590)<br/>.<br/>The next best dish was fish finger. Ren was good with the service. The food was tasty and served fresh and hot. The phulkas were light and airy. Overall a delightful meal. We were served complimentary Brownie as dessert. Thanks Ren for the great service.

We went for dinner there. Ambiance and service was not up to mark. We ordered for chilli chicken and chilli garlic noodles. Both were good by taste but noodles was a little oily,otherwise everything was good. I want to visit again this place.😊

Such a pathetic situation where a pure veg person orders for veg manchow, they come and serve chicken manchow, and when we found it was chicken and asked the servers, they weren't even sorry, all they told was we will bring veg. Is it because they get lots of customers daily?? And they aren't worried about one particular customer. Wow. Very poor service which was never expected.<br/>Beware if you are vegetarian, you may be served non veg.

Had been here for a saturday late lunch, the place is easy to spot. The price of dishes are very pocket friendly, i only wish the quantity was a bit more. We ordered for the garlic bread with chilli cheese (normal 4 pieces of garlic bread served with a tiny bowl of 2 cheese dips) chicken lollipop (it wasnt cooked properly as the flour to make it crispy only made it more soggy) chicken lasagne( yumm yumm) classic chicken pizza ( 2 types of chicken, spicy and yumm) and last but not the least the best cold coffee i have ever had in my life. Hats off to the way it was prepared.

I ordered Chicken schezwan fried rice. Unfortunately it was a bad choice. The fried rice had too much of garlic taste and also some powdered piece of egg shells .It also had a lot of small pieces of clove or something black spice which was really irritating when u get that in mouth each time you chew and also adding to it the chicken chunks were not so fresh. Not Going to order again from here 👎

My favourite restaurant at besant nagar. After a stroll at the beach with some nice breeze my day ends at pupil. The food is very tasty and the quality is very good. They have really well maintained the exterior seating arrangement as well. The sizzlers here are very nice, especially the prawn sizzler. This place can crowded anytime so the exterior seating does help to get a seat quite easily. I have had a very good experience whenever I have been here.

This place near beach is one of the best places to eat. It is a multi cuisine food court with Indian, Chinese and Italian etc foods. Quantity they give is huge and the taste is amazing. Behaviour of the staff members are quiet good, they are really friendly and this restaurant has both indoor and outdoor Seating. They serve the food very nicely and really quickly.

Been to this place on Saturday for lunch. Easy to spot the place since its exactly on besant nagar beach road. If you choose AC dining then you have to get sofa seater to get comfortable. I have ordered couple of sizzler & starters, all tasted awesome. I have given 4 and not 5 because restaurant could have been much more clean.

Try their fish multani... Naan, burgers are the best in chennai, all the steaks and tuna sandwich. It is a multicuisine restaurant which makes both Indian and continental but their pastas do not have much to offer.

As many of my asked me to visit this place, I tried last weekend. Since the place was small, it was packed with so many ppl. I expected it to be more continental whereas there taste is not so continental. U have to compromise to get that taste. Overall it gave only okay reaction.

Pupil is a burger joint which is located on the Besant Nagar Beach. What I ordered was a plate of their Double Decker Tikka cheese burger. Priced at Rs 255 I found it quite reasonable for its taste. The burger is accompanied with crispy fries too! So if you visit this place don't miss to try this out!!

I was in Chennai for an interview with my friends and after the interview we went to this amazing restaurant and before trying their food I promise I never had that much of interest in Burger.<br/><br/>But a great ambience, a beautiful sea view during the sunset and then their AMAZING mouth watering burger..can seriously give you a foodgasm 😂but seriously it was amazing ...so if anyone ever visits Chennai it's a must visit place and I can assure you ... that you won't be disappointed. Ah this long standing icon of bessy. Pupil has been the go to place for friends to hangout with a side of delicious food without burning a whole in one's pocket.<br/>Situated right next to the bessy beach at one end of the promenade it has been a very popular place among the college folks. Their burgers are a must try. The patties are super juicy and full of flavors. The burger bun is soft and doesn't fall off, which is a major problem in many of the eateries around the city. Their taste has been consistent throughout the years.<br/>Service is reasonable. Great value for money. Once would surely leave the place with a happy tummy

To start with,Its my 4th visit to this place and I got to write a review only now. The starters were above average. I loved the dragon chicken very much. Spaghetti Bolognese was a tad salty but was good though. The pasta was good and the beef was rendered and juicy. We ordered chilli garlic rice & noodles and rice& schezwan noodles.The rice and noodles were blant and was not spicy (we asked for spiciness). The prawn we ordered was showing a bit of some raw smell. And finally the sizzlers were good.. Been here a few months back. The ambiance was good but the service was slow. We had to wait for someone to take our order and delivering it was also late.<br/><br/>Coming to food, we had ordered Double Decker Tikka Cheeseburger, Tikka & Cheese Sandwich, Fried Momos. Burger and sandwich both served along with fries. Momos were served with chutney but it was not the regular momo chutney, tasted like a Szechuan sauce. Burger and Sandwich tasted good. Price was at a little high end.

Went there for lunch. Wasn’t happy how the waiter took the order. We thought we will still try the food. While we were waiting a waiter took a coke bottle from the Dustbin closed it tight and then sent it inside the kitchen. We went told this to the manager and left the place. Manager had no clue. Not sure if an action would be taken. Was highly disappointed and uncomfortable watching that.

Been here recently. Ambience and service is decent. We decided to try out burger and ordered BBQ Veg burger. It was just like any other normal burger. It came along with fries 🍟 too. Aloo patty, Mayo, lettuce, cheese and sauce were the burger 🍔 filling. My friend had all meat(chicken) burger and told that it was good.<br/>Would recommend this place if you are looking a place to grab a bite near to bessy beach.

A nice place in the midst of Besant Nagar area - they have sitting arrangement both inside the joint and also an open space area which feels great to sit and try the food. I went on a December evening and the environment was superb. <br/><br/>Now coming to the food, we only ordered momos - They were hard and almost tasteless. And the price tag was quite high, maybe it's because of the location. <br/><br/>Service was real slow - whether getting the food or the bill. <br/><br/>Overall, I would not visit this place anymore. One can visit and check if they changed for the good.

They have great outdoor ambience for the evening diners, and their food ranges from ₹75 to above. So if you have acrunch of cash then you could probably buy the student burger at ₹75 with maybe a drink and enjoy the place while you are there. The only draw back is for the diners who chose to come there in the day or sit inside at any point of time will miss the beautiful sea view they endow.

The quantity of meat and the tenderness was spot on. It wasn't too uneasy greasy but just right amount. Burger came with fries but that was very oily. I was surprised when Zomato gold didn’t work. <br/>Yes, it was 8 pm IST, the restrau was open but it showed the restrau is closed and when I asked the restrau represented there he said “it works only during daytime” I mean as if I am new to the world of internet and offers. Anyways I placed the order and I was surprised when they gave me complimentary dish “chicken wings” I asked wether it’s the compensation for Zomato gold, nothing he said. Though I think that’s the compensation so that I shouldn’t include this part over my review but well a man got to do what he wants.<br/>Ambience of this place is nice as it’s just near the beach and very crowded. The space is not an issue as you can choose to sit indoor or outdoor. I would suggest to sit outdoor, just for the breezes of the sea.<br/>We ordered buffalo country streak sizzler, momos-chicken steam and mocktails. <br/>I would not recommend to go for momos(chicken steam) as it wasn’t cook properly and the chutney they give with it is not momos chutney, it’s some schezwan sauce which doesn’t taste good. Coming to sizzler, well if you add some salt to eat you may start to like the dish. <br/>Staffs are courteous, friendly and they welcome you properly.

You are going to fall in love with their food. Everything the serve is just yum. No complaints at all. Though they are famous for their burgers which is a must try but other dishes are equally fulfilling the taste quotient.

Pupil has been always a good place to eat when it comes to burgers. My friends love the burgers there and I must say I agree. The Chinese or should I say The Indo Chinese options are good too.

They are known for their juicy burgers, but their North Indian food is just as good. I often visit this place for butter chicken...not everything on the menu is good...I found their oriental food to be quite average.

Great place. Great food. Spaghetti Bolognese something to look forward to. The menu is well designed. Can cater to most of your cravings very well.

Ordered Steamed Momos and BBQ burger. The momos came with "sweet" sauce. The server got the chilly sauce later and added it into the sweet sauce served with the momos. BBQ burger too wasn't that great.

4th time visit here and never have i skipped ordering their garlic bread as appetizer, its amazing! The oriental dishes were good, we ordered chicken lollypop, chicken noodles,and the pasta spaghetti meatballs with red sauce were good too! The only concern i had was the duo of chicken and tenderloin steak with herb rice and mashed potato that they have in their menu..will it be good?? Would the doneness and flavour be the same as i am imagining?? Coz cooking a good steak as per the doneness request of the guest is an ART!!<br/>These thought were gone the moment i saw the plating!!! Mushroom & peppercorn sauce all over the steak!!! And seeping into the rice and mashed potato. Thats not the way to serve a steak! It ruined my mood and plan of having a good steak after a lot of months. (A small suggestion-always serve sauce on the side please, it ruins the individual look of the dishes that are plated. For example if u go some where and order rice and dad or chicken curry, how would u feel if u are served rice and the whole dal/chicken curry poured over ur rice..yess u can feel now how i felt that time)<br/>Rest assured, i am gonna come to this place again and again, coz of the service and ambience,that include besant nagar beach, good street food, good crowd,but m never ever gonna order a steak!<br/>Cheers Guys,long way to go!

I visited this place with my friends and they accept zomato gold.This place is very cool as we have beach view opposite to this place and we ordered one veg platter with chicken tandoor which came as a complimentary dish.Would recommend this place to you all..cheers

Food quality was not good ham was uncooked even the steak was chewy and cold very bad experience not worth it...took costly FROM PARIS WITH LOVE

My favorite place for cheeseburgers in Chennai, The staff is really friendly and nice. The burgers are worth it. Quick service and nice sitting arrangement. We have had almost all the burgers in the menu and the Cuban-burger is one heck of a burger, it's just a perfect one their other stuff is pretty nice too, Do try the All meat burger if you're craving for some really good meat. 👐🏻

This place is just the BEST and they very rarely fail to meet our expectations. Food is served within a very short wait. And the best thing I like and makes me go back again again is the TASTE OF FOOD AND SERVICE. And Alex is just one of the best in what he does. So happy to be eating here for so long and not wanting to change 🙈

I had been there for a quick snack. The place is right next to the beach so the location is good. Place is well maintained with outdoor seating as well. There is good service too.<br/><br/>I had a fried potato sandwich with was priced rs. 245. In that, we get a sandwich with splendid amount of veggies and cheese and fried potato patty. With that, we get good amount of french fries with a delicious cheese dip. <br/><br/>Totally worth the time and money. Strongly recommended for good food.

I have visited this place many times earlier it used to be good now it's garbage and the price is on the higher note. I ordered pizza vienna and grandma pizza and a chicken hakka noodle and a roasted beef and pepper beef and cheese balls and chilli cheese fries and chilli chese garlic bread. Garlic bread was too stale the cheese was too frozen and cheese fries was dry and cheese balls were ok the noodles was too sticky and tasted so bad beef was ok the pizza was like a ready made pizza worst pizza i have ever had they took a bun and applied cheese over it and added few veggies and gave it to us the crust was that bad and everything sucked from service to food don't waste your money by going there

The tastiest n juiciest burger one can get. The best burger never had.the buns r so soft.the patty is so juicy.its so tasty. With the friendly staff it's a bonus.

I have been to Besant Nagar tens of times but never got a chance to try here.<br/><br/>Since this was my first visit, I tried just 3 items from menu.<br/><br/>Big boy chicken burger - very filling as it has double patty.<br/>Chilli beef and cheese sandwich - this one was superb<br/>Fresh lime - good<br/><br/>I'll be back to try more.

Bit expensive -typical 'bessy' restaurant. Food quality is good, with a good ambience. Well lit. Too noisy, as the beach is close by. Responsible serving team.

Went with roasted beef and beef noodles. Beef part is cooked well. Desert side sizzling brownie with hot chocolate sauce. One of the best I ever tasted. One who visiting pupil I suggest this brownie in a must try item list.

Vegetarians beware. We ordered for veg momos and we were served chicken momos. After knowing it was chicken, all they did was an offer to replace it with veg momos, something that they definitely had to do. If this is the kind of service and food mixing they follow, difficult to trust this place any further. Blanket ban from us.

I ordered BHB burger..it says two beef patties with Crispy bacon and steamy bacon..I got it as overcooked stiff ham and no bacon...I asked restaurant they said bacon and ham both same...AND FRIES ALSO SOAGY

Good place to grab up some breads after a long walk ok beach. Really friendly staffs, especially the people serving are very polite and professional. Do try their Sizzlers and Soda Pop Beverages, they are different and would definitely freshen up your long tiring walk on beach.

Food is very good and tastes so good it's quiet good place to visit but little small place and issue is no restroom other wise it's good and worth it.

This is one of the shops serving good food near Besant Nagar/Elliot's Beach. Straight after enjoying the sea side fun, one can come here for spicy good food.<br/><br/>They have lot of varieties to offer, however we tried Veg Manchurian and Pepper Cheese Fries. Both were extremely tasty. Manchurian was a bit dry which was not expected , however the balls were good. Service is a bit slow even in non-rush hours.
