It's very good taste and like traditional sweets and savory can buy here with higen. We can come make multiple shopping over there like fresh vegetables and fruits can get it here any time. Separate for vegetables and fruits. Service very good. But seating not much available for eating. Also no that parking facilities. Price OK for Upper and Upper High Classes.

Real taste and high demand for premium sweets, every time I visit, the expected sweets are sold out.. first come and first serve.. i would suggest to visit early to find more varieties

The sweets were very tasty and fresh Service was good considering the Diwali rush May be they need to arrange the waiting area and small dining room better

One of the finest sweets and Greens shops. The staff are customer friendly and the service was par excellence.

Fresh vegetables, fruits, sweets & savouries at affordable price... Quite efficient and courteous service... Door delivery available for nearby locations. Limited parking available for cars.... Still the favourite shop for local residents... Chat items are available in the evenings...👍👍

Good place where we can cover snaks with veggies. If you go with family, when they go for purchase of veggies we can smack the snacks varities. Sweets are really good quality here and so many varities also.

V good selection of sweets, but the people working there were too noisy and talking loudly among themselves..did not give proper attention to what we wanted and what we were telling them

This place got a great vegetable shopping facility which is air conditioned. Adequate parking available with security guard assistance. You can get fresh vegetables which will be chopped on request. Good for green leaves shopping. Price is bit higher however its worth in terms of freshness and overall shopping experience. Also store fresh scrapped coconut in a neat package.

This is 3rd time I am facing issues with quality of surya sweets , I am a customer since inception this is 3rd time I found hair in bombay laddu & I found a small stone in samosa. I have escalated several times to local management but no action taken. Worst service and response.

Visit this place when you don't get fresh veggies in other places... First time when I went I thought it's purely a fruit and vegetable stall... However noticed a sweet and savory joint right next to it...

Tried their moti ladoo and badusha... Ladoo was good and badusha was not big ones like they serve in other places but cute tiny ones... The savories I have tasted here is also good...

It cannot compete with other sweet stalls in and around R.A.Puram. however at the same time it would not disappoint you....

If you have a child aged between 5 to 16, and you don't know how to entertain them, and you have to give them an evening snack, please bring them here! For over 15 years, this place has been our first choice to buy any grocery item.

Wat If someone's coming home, without notice? 😉 no worries! Get there and get their snack items (cashew pakoras or onion pakoras are the best!), their (cut) fruits, cut vegetables, chaat (samosa, cutlet, pav bhaji), sweets or the ready made food (if you are that lazy)!

And let your kids play in the park right outside and get them few chocolates, milkshakes, ice creams or biscuits 🍪!

Very humble, simple ambience. Suriya sweets is nice, but it's nowhere close to being my favourite shop for sweets. The Suriya Greens shop has a nice collection of fruits and vegetables, and is quite nice. If you're close to this place, it's worth checking out for a quick bite or hurried vegetables shopping before cooking a meal.

I have bought chaat from this place many a times when i was in the locality. The samosas served here are very tasty and fresh. I love the sweet chutney they serve along with it. Haven't tried their sweets yet. I feel it's a decent enough to place to buy short eats from once in a while. 👍😊

Predictable display of South Indian and Bengali sweets and si savouries. Some of their stuff are very good. Murukku and thengoyal stand out. And they have priced lower than the competition

Limited but excellent choice. Good price. Particularly good - thattai, seedai, masala peanuts, Bengali sweets, all varieties of pakodas and bondas.

Service needs to be a lot better. Sometimes the staff are seen hanging around, and need to be goaded by the supervisor, to attend to customers.

The lower rating is because of the service. Otherwise it would have been 4.5 or 5!

I come over here for my dose of fruits and veggies. Sometimes we do stop over for a quick snack.

Love their keerA Vadai and dhoklas. I also enjoy their samosa which is a super fresh and huge.

They have a fairly decent collection of sweets and their mini badushah is very nice. They also sell rice mixes and pickles. I buy their pulikachal as a stand by

A great alternative to the ultra costly Grand Snacks. Curd Vadai and Badam milk is a must have ! too good ! Sweets are good like any other premium sweet shop ( Gss, krishna sweets ) . The snacks served in the evening ( Vadai, Bajji ) are good though slightly over priced. A must try if u reside in that area !

Just bought a mixed Kaju Mithai box worth Rs 200 from Suriya Sweets. Absolutely worth it and great for gifting purposes.
I was not aware that Suriya Sweets is listed on Zomato. Lovely. I think it is a new entry. Well this is our neighbourhood sweets and vegetable Go To place. This is like home. So happy to write about the place that we visit almost daily to get something or the other.
Well, it also has the Vegetables sections, that has some of the fresh veggies from Ooty coming daily.
For any Pooja or festival, we just go to Suriya and get the readymade pack that they make for the particular occasion, it has everything from a few puja items, fruits, grains, required leaves etc
The sweet shop is not too huge, but adequate for all things that we may need. The sweets they make is made from pure ghee and honey is what they claim. Very hygienic place. Lovely Mithais. My daughter loves the kaju based tricolour mithai a lot. While Hubby and MIL are fond of the milk based ones. They have a small section of Bengali mithais too. Their Badam Halwa too is good but quite heavy.
The savoury is also huge huge with everything from mixtures, murukku, chips, Thattais and a lot of other savoury items. They have quite a few fresh items daily like samosas, bonda, paniyarum, dahi wada etc.
At times, I have seen them making space in an adjacent room adding chairs for small groups. It is a heaven for people living nearby and many of office goers.

Always wanted to be the first one to review a joint. So here goes!!
Suriya sweets is a famous name among my office colleagues. Any birthday or celebration in office, and off we are to Suriya sweets to buy box loads of tasty sweets. Or at other times, it might just be a sweet craving in between a client meeting that drives you to step out of office and take a walk towards the sweet shop.

It might be small when compared to the big names but it is a well run place. Right next to it, you can find a fruits and vegetables shop owned by the same folks. The good number of staff behind the counter makes sure no customer is unattended. Few chairs are arranged in a small room for seating in case you can't wait till you get back home/to office.

All the sweets I've tried from here are good.
Dahi vada (4/5), Bengali sweets(5/5), bonda (5/5)/pakora(3/5) with chutney and all the kaju based sweets (4/5) are what I've tried so far. What I like the best is that the dahi here never tastes sour (which I've experienced at many other well known chaat centers).

Verdict: It's apt location and fresh sweets and savories makes it a popular place among the local crowd. Will continue to be a regular here (provided I can slip out of office:)).
-With Hariiyeraryan
