Review Shree Mithai - Chennai (Madras)

Nanditha Raghavan
The most authentic chaat taste in town - must try their dahi aloo tikki and papdi chaat. The center in besant nagar is very well maintained, the food court is spotlessly clean and the service is as efficient as it can get.
Ravichandar V
Bought sweets and savouries a few times. A bit expensive but taste is consistently good. They have a dining area on the second floor. Had chole batura - tasty. Clean and well maintained. Parking available.

Best in town for chat , quick bites and sweets.. i loved sev puri very much and there are plenty kaju sweet varieties and are lip smacking taste. Worth a shot try it with ur gang.. friendly for everyone
Dipti Sangani
No doubt about the sweets, they are all very delicious and tasty. You can find the best north Indian food as well. Additionally there is a food court too. It's the best for Diwali as there are packaged sweet boxes and bulk orders available too. I would recommend to visit atleast once.

Good experience, valet parking and covered 2 wheeler parking. Lifts available to navigate between the floors. Comfortable seating and self service. Delicious North Indian Indian chats, sweets and savouries available. We had Channa Masala, Aloo tikki, Raj kachori and pav bhaji. The taste was good šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹

Regular hang out place. Famous for its sweets and savories. The Dine in facility is on the second floor. All chaat varieties, poori subji, sandwiches, and basically quick bites. Best part is parking space and valet parking.

Awesome food , best service and beautiful place!! One of the best Indian restaurant in town!! Go for it!! love this Indian cuisine. The pizza was spectacular, even turning one of my non- believer friends to the Indian cuisine light side. The pizza are beyond belief delicious, and the sauces that go with them make them perfect. Very good.

One of the best North Indian food joints in Besant Nagar to have a great time with your family and friends. Really good quality and quantity of food. They do have valet parking for ease your parking worries on the busy street. On the first floor they have a spacious bakery which has all the best sweets and savouries. Food court is on the second floor with self service.

I have poori with potato and peas masala. Cottage cheese pizza and cheese pizza. Then Pani poori and dhai poori. Tastes awesome.Price wise very affordable. In the 2nd floor In the 1st floor full of sweet variety. I have not seen this much varieties of sweet. That too very different.
Gokulavan Jayaraman
Taste and Quality maintained on all sweets, savouries and chats. They have 2 floors, the ground floor is basically for parking and the kitchen, first floor is the shop and second floor is the restaurant. Lift available, restroom available, valet parking available. Overall good.

Well, what can I say about this place. This has been a go-to spot for ages ever since I realized that there are VFM North Indian chat items in Chennai. . Cheese vada pav & Pav bhaji - A grilled pav with mild-spiced vada between them grazed with grated cheese all around; saturated chilly was the stand out factor with so little to offer from the bun; though the bun was pretty thin, the sour masala was AWESOME Bombay sandwich & grilled club sandwich - A normal untoasted sandwich with fresh and raw veggies garnished with chat masala; not my type but still was good with good crunchiness and sourness; the grilled club was conventional with nothing unique to offer on the whole, GOOD Masala lemonade & Badam milk - Typical spicy lemonade with little sweet salt kick to it conventional drink for the ages; Badam was thick and okayish with a bit of crunchiness from the flakes Bhel poori & Pani poori - This place has Paani poori OTG with readymade chilled bottles of spiced water and packaged poori, masala; though the process looks hectic for us to do it from scratch, the effort to make it safe and hygienic for customer deserves a round of applause; Was pretty spicy with the chilly water, pheww Chinese rice combo - A platter with fried rice, Manchurian and spring rolls; pretty decent for the price, good tummy filling; the gravy was sour and spicy, spring rolls had the right filling with the crunchy texture Butter roti with mixed veg - Roti basket with mild sweet gravy filled with all types of veggies; well cooked gravy, munch in the roti with one dip in the gravy to feel the rich creamy North Indian flavor, WOW . Price-wise, they offer great food with good variations across their menu, definitely worth visiting quite often. When it comes to ambience, we would be put in a spot of bother during peak hours owing to a bit of waiting time for our tables. They have got good parking space with off-street parking in the adjacent streets. Lighting fast service deserves a special mention

This branch in on some few 100 mtr from the Durga Bhai Deshmukh Road at Besant Avenue (BA) Road cutting, in between Jawa / Yezdi & Tanishq* showroom on BA Road. This shop is on 1st and 2nd floor. You have lift facility. Quite clean and neat shop, with sufficient staff to attend the customer. Most of them are from North India, and few tamil staff's were also present. Varieties of Sweets, Savouries and Chat items are available. Prices are slightly high, but no compromise in quality - good quality food. Ghee is available in various quantities packed in a container. Haven't visited 2nd floor, but people seen stepping down the stairs after dining. Its a nice place to share with family and/or friends, a kiddy party etc. You have space for parking and valate parking is also available. On the entry through automatic sliding mirror doors one can check temperature and automatic sanitizer spray. Staff's wear mask and use gloves to pack items. But seen some public (customers) doesn't wear proper mask and staff don't insist them to wear (Its a minus) or at least a board should have kept. They accept all modes of payments. * Recently, Tanishq has been shifted the showroom to SP Road. # eatery #dining #sweet

Strangely we were told to go to the payment counter and pay for the order before receiving the order. Later on we wanted something to drink and one more joined our crowd of 5 ladies (all 50+) and this time the order was produced before payment. So, don't know if there was a discrimination or misunderstanding. And, only one toilet that too in the ground floor for women. Infrastructure can do better than this?

First thing first, as their badam milk fan I used to visit their first floor which is just like a take away set up. Had a chance to vsiit their restaurant which is at eecond floor. Their ambience was good and staffs were ao polite and welcoming in nature. Coming to food we ordered dahi samosa and chole batore. Dahi samosa was so good and satisfied our chaat cravings. Coming to chole bature WOW how I missed this from shri mithai these many days. It was delicious and amzing. So rich and mouth watering too. Must try in this place is Badam Milk and recent time this place my personal favu chole bature.

Very good North Indian sweets. A floor for sweets and savouries and exclusive floor for dining.
Vinit Gala
Jain pizza is very nice. We like to know if any other jain menu also available for try.

Mouth watering north indian dishes and chaats, decent quantity and taste was amazing.. A must visit place for a north indian cuisine food lover.. the best Sev poori till now šŸ˜

Quality is fine ,love the taste of every dish but Please don't add too much of oil . I like dahi vada the most just like i have it in delhi.
Chahak Jain
Really good food. Ordered pani puri and aloo bedmi. Both were amazing. Although pani puri could have been a bit more spicy but really good anyway.
Semanti Dutta
I ordered cottage cheese pizza. It was indian version of Italian pizza and I totally loved it!! Spices used were indian like methiĀ  on paneer. It is more likeĀ  Home-made pizza that's why I liked it so much.Ā  Price is also pocket friendly.<br/><br/>I would love to order more from here in future.
Gofoodiego
I tried their bedmi poori and it was yummy , the curry provided with the bedmi poori was yumm and the jalebi was crispy and ghee flavour in it was really good.<br/>The chole bhature was was yumm . And the pav bhaji was really good. So far I love it.

Its a great menu nd you will enjoy it. I especially like the ghee put ā¤

I never received my order from you yesterday, ,thru.<br/>Zomato.
Ragavi
food was ok
Vamanie Perumal
I ordered Rasamalai, Vada Pav and Veg Sandwich from here. I liked the sweet and the snack. Sandwich was very good with the mint sauce. But I would have been happy , if the bread had been toasted. It was plain bread. It was nicely cut into small pieces , easy to eat. I have been here a few times and i always love the sweets and snacks :)
Dwij Sheth
Best north indian food in chennai. MUST VISIT for all northies out there to experience a homely taste in all dishes. Try out their Chinese Bhel which is the best thing out there.
Janani Kannan Iyer
Great food! Must try if you love North Indian food! I have been here a lot of times definitely worth it! Do try the Thali, Chole Bhature and Noodles!

When i ordered for a dabeli - They gave me a veg burger and argued with me that "this is how we make dabeli across all our stores"<br/><br/>Very rude management, unwilling to realise their mistakes.<br/><br/>Avoid going to this place If you wish to have authentic food.
Sachin Infant
Ambience: good<br/>Service: okay<br/>Portion size: very good<br/>Quality: very good<br/>Items I tried: basundhi and baked macaroni<br/>Basundhi was really good, easily among one of the best basundhi's I've ever tasted. Mac & cheese was too too cheesy and also it didn't have the bland taste instead it tasted milky
Ekta Singh
The food court is mostly full on weekends so you have to wait to get a seat. May be due to weekend rush but the service was not very great. However the food is good with multiple veg options. Lot of chat, Indian and Chinese snacks plus general meal cuisines you can get here. I liked the samosa chat and chola bhatura here but little improvement is required in the Chole department. Fresh lime soda was basically only sprite with no lime so avoid it.<br/>The pricing of all dishes is decent plus they have a sweet shop in one of the floors so In case you don't want to eat in food court, you can still buy some snacks or sweets from this place.
Priyanka Jayaraman
Went there as a family on Saturday night around 8. It was pretty crowded and we had wait some time. The food was really delicious and the place was also nice.<br/>We had ordered sweet corn soup, dahi poori, cheese pav bhaji, roti, paneer, Punjabi ex meals, veg cheese grilled sandwich and farm fresh pizza.<br/>Everything was nice except the pizza, would definitely not recommend it. Also the cold coffee was served in a small pet bottle, I didn't feel that it was worth the price.<br/>Overall it cost abt a 1200,slightly expensive but definitely worth the experience.

My taste buds are feeling good when I am going to this place ...best chaat items, sweets, and wonderful dhokla. All items are very tasty except Chinese. Staff is also good. It's a great place for chaat lovers.

The worst customer response have seen in Chennai...the supervisor dosent provide extra plates for sharing and eating. They are not giving reusable plates they are giving only use and throw plates...If any one of you planning to go and have dinner or evening snacks with family please don't go worst customer relations.. The are many good hotels nearby with good customer relations

By far the best North Indian food I have eaten.I have eaten chats in many places in Chennai, but I have never been fully satisfied.Thats exactly why I love this place. The chats and sweets here are truly the best I have had. What I Really liked about this place was that everything was of really good quality.I had katori chat, pani Puri, chole bhature and rasmalai.Everything had the perfect balance of spice and it was not very heavy. The water dip for the pani Puri was light and flavorful.<br/>My personal favourites were katori chat and rasmalai. This was the first time I have been here and I am definitely going to check out this place again<br/>P.s : They have absolutely amazing variety of sweets too
Sumaiyafarzana22
Awesome taste. <br/>The jalebi was so fresh and worth every single money.! <br/>Had such an amazing evening. Perfect place for a sweet cravings. <br/>I would prefer this place everytime
Pritam Gembali
The place is not suited for sitting and having a bite. The main reason is not enough air circulation and the air gets hot due to the floodlights installed outside to highlight the shop. The chaats we ordered were decent. The Pani Puri was a disappointment. Pasta was surprisingly decent as well. Not recommended if you want have more than a quick snack.
MJ
I ordered for a Classic Pizza, American Burger and Grilled sandwich - really i enjoyed like anything<br/>and the service provided by zomato was great.. Cheer up.<br/><br/>
Prince Vineeth
North indian dishes, sweets and chat items were really good. I didn't like the Pani poori and dahi vada as they were too sweet. Chole Batura was magnificent. Their way of ordering and serving food was too cool and managed the crown really well.
Nambi Kallapiran
I went to the restaurant yesterday [26/3] at 8pm. Items that were listed as day's special were not availalble [Veg. Hyderabad Briyani]; Paneer Butter Masala was not availalble; Finally settled down for Dhal Makhni and waited in the table, was told that even that was not available and was asked to choose another item, which I finally did. Reason given was that food was prepared at another location [Anna Nagar] and brought to Adyar - not sure if this is an acceptable reason. I am not sure if this is the same case with other branches also + a consistent issue. It will be good if this is taken care quickly. Other items ordered were good - but the above issue prevails over the good experience.
Abhijith
A place with very tempting food. This outlet was opened recently. I hadn't been to any other outlet till then though I have seen the one in nungambakkam a lot of times while crossing that junction. But after my first visit to this restaurant, I have become an addict to their food. I did go to the nungambakkam outlet after that, but the ambience in adyar is really good. All shree mithai outlets follow a different way of ordering where in you first need to go to the billing section to order and bill the food. Once paid, you will be given a number board that can be placed on any table you sit. The food will be served to the table with the number. The au gratin is so delicious that I went back to have it again. Their poori with aloo masala shockingly has very less oil which is something I have always wondered how. A must try place. Chats are also cool. Must also check out their masala lemonade, pink lemonade and black current shake (black current shake is not on the menu but was put up as today's spl one day - do ask them for it and try it out šŸ˜€)

#northindian<br/>#veg<br/>#chat<br/>#snack<br/><br/>Spent < Rs.500<br/><br/>Had<br/>1. Paneer Butter Masala with Butter Naan<br/>2. Veg Supreme Pizza<br/>3. Farm Fresh Pizza<br/>4. Veg Hakka Noodles<br/><br/>Paneer butter masala was awesome. Veg Hakka Noodles was decent. Pizza was very okayish. Veg supreme was very spicy. While Farm fresh pizza was nice. The size is too small for pizza.<br/>I think we should have ordered classic chat items instead of experimenting Chinese and italian. One lesson learnt. They also had ice creams, sodas, milkshakes.<br/><br/>The ambience was nice. you will have to order at the counter and pay the bill. They give a number sign which you need to keep at the table. As they ready items they will bring it.<br/><br/>Recommendation: Go for it for North Indian chat items, sweets & snacks only! If you want to experiment try without expectations!<br/><br/>

Hello, I am a big fan of Shree Mithai - just feel no one in this segment can beat the savours they serve. But itā€™s very unfortunate to say that this particular outlet in Adyar, Besant avenue is really bad.<br/>I had several experiences / occasions which just makes me more confident.<br/>Please try the other outlets you will not be disappointed.

I went his for my evening snacks . So, my review will be on the chat items that are available there . <br/><br/>Ambience : The place is very neat and has good interiors . The first floor is dedicated to sweets and savouries while the second floor is the restaurant. <br/><br/>Service : Biling and placing the order is before we get to sit in the place . We are given with a order number and then the food is served to the place . The service was quick and efficient . <br/><br/>Food : <br/>Delhi spl pani puri - I havenā€™t had it before so I cannot really say if it was up to the standards . It different from the usual pani puri with very less mint in the pani . It had rava added puri and was crispy . As a whole it was delicious. <br/><br/>Chaat katori - Very Few places in Chennai offer this . It had Bhalla on the top . It was very well decorated . It was good too.<br/><br/>Bhel puri - The evergreen dish was very good . The sweet and tangy flavours were all infused will into the bhel . It was too good . <br/><br/>Price : Price maybe on the higher end but worth it for its taste and ambience . <br/><br/>( google maps showed us the wrong location !) <br/><br/>It was a tummy filling experience šŸ˜€

I was at Besant Nagar outlet. I really liked the experience. <br/>Service was good and food was tasty and fresh. Known for its chaat, delivered good quality. <br/>My favourite dish was Cheese Pav bhaji. Unfortunately couldnā€™t get a picture because it was too appealing and I ate it off. <br/>I recommend this place to people of all ages. It caters all age groups. For an evening snack, itā€™s the best place to be.

For every chat lover, this new outlet after an evening in the beach. Wow.Ā <br/>We happened to try it by chance, went with our family of 7. We ordered assorted dishes +chats. I could find nothing negative about anything, it tasted lip smacking perfect!Ā <br/><br/>Please keep up this perfection in taste at all times.Ā <br/>Only disadvantage here is you have to wait the queues and self service. But the food is absolutely worth the trouble.

Having heard a lot about Shree Mithai, we decided to head to this place which is around 10 mins away from Elliot's beach. The sweets and savouries they serve are top notch and not to mention, the chaat items are freshly prepared and are flavourful.<br/>Do check out this place if you're in and around Besant Nagar and want to taste some authentic Vegetarian delicacies.

Placed a large order of samosas and kachoris for a gathering and some North Indian combos. Everything turned out to be very tasty and well prepared. Places offers supreme quality of savouries and good quality of north Indian food. Probably the best you can find in Chennai. They're way ahead of other so called north Indian joints offering sub standard chats and stuff. Hope they continue to maintain quality. Kudos!

Beware of the 6 inch Pizza. THIS IS NOT A PIZZA. This is not what you will expect when one is expecting a pizza. This is a thick loaf of bread cut into half with a thin line of toppings. Have told the manager here to make a change in the menu.. but the attitude of the people here is "take it or leave it". Unfortunate part is food here is a tad bit oily but pretty tasty. The menu says 6" pizza. A note to the management .. Pls describe the dish on the menu to avoid confusion when the order is delivered.

I have been to Shree Mithai several times and seldom have I ever been disappointed. It's the Nungambakkam outlet that I'm known to frequent often and having known that an outlet closer to home had opened at Besant Nagar, I was more than keen to try it out. This is a much bigger outlet with 2 floors, one dedicated for sweets and their bakery products and the upper tier occupies the restaurant space.<br/><br/>It still works on the self service mode but here you get the food served on the table. Also additional items are brought to the fray such as selected North Indian, pizza and a few continental dishes as well. We ordered a number of things and listed below is a brief of it:<br/><br/>- Veg Manchow soup - Nicely made with the requisite chinese spices and shredded thin pieces of cottage cheese for that lilt.<br/>- Pani Puri - Has always been good and same was the case today as well.<br/>- Aloo Tikki Channa - This one was so tasty with the chutney, channa and the cutlet piece of potato having a jolly good time mingling with one another.<br/>- Corn Cheese Balls - Absolutely stunning for the price. 6 finely breaded balls with a stuffing of cheese and veggies.<br/>- Chole Bhatoora - I really don't have to say anything here. This has always been a perennial evergreen favourite and though this was more channa as opposed to chole, tasted superlative. Only qualm was the chole gravy felt a little too less when compared to the Nungambakkam outlet.<br/>- Butter Naan with Dal Makhni - An absolute tongue twirler. The Dal Makhni was so darn good which I really didn't expect in a fast food dining place. The butter and cream was inherent and went jocularly well with the Naan.<br/>Baked Lasagne - very cheesy and containing some green veggies. Again was very nice but a little bland as I felt a wee bit extra spice would have aided it even more.<br/>Panneer Pizza - A melting cheese experience. This was customised with the flakes and seasoning. The panneer pieces were yellow and juicy and nicely inter mingling with the base.<br/>Butter Milk - Ended with a refreshing cup of butter milk and it was a lovely way to polish off the meal.<br/><br/>Service was very quick and we got our items one by one at very quick intervals of time. Another huge plus point is the pricing. Shree Mithai as a chain have been really reasonable and they have never really jacked up the price. The marginal increase is just to take care of the inflation and whatever item we had it felt more than worth the price.<br/><br/>Shree Mithai has always been a favourite and with this new joint opening at Besant Nagar, the joy for good food only increases all the more.
Vandana Jayaraj
Very average food. Not very great.<br/>MANAGEMENT PROUDLY DISPLAYS THAT THEY ARE ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY AND TO BRING OWN CARRY BAGS..... BUT THEY SERVE IN FULL PLASTIC PLATES AND PLASTIC CUTLERY CAUSING POLLUTION.<br/><br/>This suggestion needs to taken very SERIOUSLY by the management.<br/><br/>
Swamy
Food was good at the restaurant. Pani puri better than in most places in Chennai. Chola Batura was good too. The cheese vada pav was decent. The entire crockery was plastic though, felt a bit awkward handling plastic plates and spoons.
Nitesh Kumar
If you are fond of Chaats and specially the ones that you find in North side like Delhi, Gurugram then you should visit this place. They have 5 outlets in Chennai and Besant Nagar is a recent addition. You will also find lot of snacks item available apart from Chaats which add varities in your food options. If you have decent group/ mix of friends then there is something for everyone. They have small portions of Pizza as well available. Punjabi thali was also very good. In chaat you should try Dahi Bhalla. It has a sweet outlet on the first floor which has some mouth watering sweets options available.
Berna Dette
As usual hygiene.. Worth for money.. Taste.. Quality.. Everything as expected only.. Shree mithai the veg heaven.. The badham milk paradiseā¤ļøā¤ļøšŸ˜‹ my most favorite.. Tried kandav.. Which was new to me..
Chidambaram N
The food is good. But please avoid this place if you expect decent customer service. The team here is very arrogant and don't serve the customers with respect.<br/>But the food tasted good and the ambience is good.<br/>The management has a good policy for the place which tends to get crowded, but the service team here doesn't have the same intentions as the management I believe.
Sandhya Sridhar
Thank god finally we have a good chaat joint in our area...we went there yesterday and really enjoyed...It's neat and clean hope it will remain like this and the staff was very polite and even the Valet parking was very convenient and even the security was also very kind and helpful....will come back often..
Foodzie
If you are craving for some nice chaats and quick snacks...this is the perfect place to be. <br/>We ordered aloo tikki chaat, cheese pav bhaaji, sweet lassi, cheese grilled sandwich and Bombay sandwich. The chaat was really crispy and i can say it was close to Delhi chaats. All other dishes were really tasty as well. <br/>The prices are also very light on your pocket.<br/><br/>Do give this a try for quick snacks.
Rahulbaid03
This outlet is not recommended.<br/>Visited the outlet on Sunday evening. The outlet is on a busy road and parking may have been issue if not for valet parking.<br/>We ordered Chef special Pani Puri, Chinese Bhel, Dahi papdi chaat and Chana Bhatura. Except the last none of them were good. Salt was missing from Chinese Bhel and Pani of Pani Puri served. A total let down when something is promoted as chef special.<br/>Further dampener was a quarrel between staff and a customer for non professional behaviour in handling the orders and queue.<br/>
Aveenash Jayaraman
Shree mithai has expanded itā€™s presence in Chennai by opening a new branch in Besant Nagar. The place is located in between fashion folks and tanishq jewelery on the theosophical society road (which usually gets crowded on the weekends). But donā€™t worry about finding a parking spot, they have valet parking available.
Mahavir
Been here twice already.<br/>The thali and chaat are something you were searching for all this time.<br/>Number of tables are less compared to the footfall.<br/>Your tastebuds will be satisfied here, take my word for it.
Buggy
Fell in love with their sandwiches. The badam milk is one of the best available in the town. Literally had tears in my eyes when I came to know they opened so close to home. Not the best place to try Chinese. But everything else from sandwiches to chat to sweets to bakery products are simply amazing. Do try the kaju kathili.
Kairav Pathak
Food is ok. Gave 1 star because they don't give good vessels to eat in. They don't even give spoons and knives to eat with on the table. The valet is horrible too. They parked and one of the persons stole 50 rupees from the car. Warning everyone pls take all your money with you when giving to valet because I don't want what happened to me to happen to others. If there was lesser than 1 star than would have given 0.3.<br/>This is about restraunt only. Not about the bakery and sweet shop.<br/>
