Location on the first floor of Chennai Le Palace. The ambience is very nice. Yazhee theme based restaurant. Statues and pictures of different yazhees were placed which is very nice. Kids slide and merry go round available. Have very good food options. Not crowded when we visited. Tasted good. Service could be better.

One of the best themed restaurants; enticing ambience; the floor is covered with amazing lights. Kid's friendly place with small area for kids to play in the entrance. Taste of the food was decent too. It's located inside the Le palace hotel.

Avatar, first time I've visited here on Valentine's day with my wife .. unexpected plan and finally choosen this place located in the 2nd floor in "LE Palace" towards Porur to Arcos Road. On valentine's day they have arranged live music really pleasent and feels great. This place is especially great for kids. I'm sure they will enjoy a lot. I have witnessed it and parents also enjoyed with their kids. Nice place for family and friends. Atmosphere is very nice . Book table b for going because all most full . Staff so coprative you can Celebrating birthdays or anniversary small cake cutting function also (request). Timing 0930 pm no order taken. Children can enjoy lot ..(playing area)

The place itself was uniquely designed, cozy. The food was delicious, but the service was not in sync. They brought in the main course before going through the starters for all. They were probably understaffed. The service staff were courteous. The play area outside the restaurant is a big boon for parents.

An avatar themed restraunt... With beautiful lightings . You should enjoy the food in the half dark. Taste of the Food was decent. You can try this place for office team lunch and or u can try it with your family once . Cost was of veg food was not very expensive to other restaurants. Non was bit high in cost.

Celebrated my parents 70th bday at this restaurant! Went along with my grandparents who are in their 90’s! Very good service!! Food was really good. Had a very good experience. Thanks to the Manager, Mr. Raju for exceptional service!

I would give 5 for this themed restaurant as the theme has been captured fully. The kids love this place instantly. The food was good but I've held back a star just so that there's always room for improvement in the food criteria. We loved the chicken tandoori kabab. It was just perfect ! The sheekh kabab was a little chewy and the size and amount served doesn't justify the price charged. The noodles lacked taste so don't order Chinese if you're a picky eater. The gravies we ordered were nice. Since it was a b'day party the cake we ordered was delicious. Full marks there. The service was good. All in all a must visit for sure. The theme is worth a Dekko !

Unlimited buffet for lunch is awesome, cost is moderate. Chief , stewards are kind people. Taste is fantastic. Bringing kids will make them happier. Desserts, food , soups feel like authentic.

The ambience was really good reflecting the theme quite well. However, the food was below average both veg and non veg. The place was dark and so we were unable to make out the color of the food. When we saw with a phone torch everything was black. Too much of soya into everything. I could hardly remember a dish that was good. The Schezwan noodles was a all time disaster. We complained to the manager on d food and he offered with a cancellation of a the item. Overall, not a great experience.

One of the worst buffets I ever had. The menu contained only 2 non veg starters for which they charge 830 per head. Main course options are also limited. Even after reservation we were made wait for 30 mins. After that the service was sooo pathetic. We literally need to run behind servers to get starters and rotis. Very unresponsive to complaints as well. The food taste was actually good but slowest service knocked off everything. Not at all recommended.

Waited for more than half an hour for the order to arrive, ordered Reshmi kebab as a starter which was served after the meal as dessert, food was not upto the mark, service was very underwhelming, overall a disappointing experience

The place has ample parking space . The theme is very good but found the place bit dark. The decor and ambiance is good and is in line with the theme. The staff is courteous and they are quick to take and serve the order. The food is good and the quantity is sufficient. Good place to have team lunch on Fridays . Recommended for family and friends .

Very good food. Went with team. We ordered mutton soup and tandoori platter it was so good. Biriyani is good but the mutton was not so great in biriyani. Chicken white sauce pasta was so yummy. Must try.

Worst food ever.We have ordered for garlic naan,butter naan,masala kulcha.So as expected there was no garlic ,butter or stuffed items in any of the above breads.Malai Kulfa was way to sweet.It seems that sugar is very cheap nowadays.None of the items was properly cooked or baked.

5 star is definitely for the Theme. #avatar and they slayed it completely. I really appreciate the attention to details right from the floorings, walls (do notice the miniature paintings), washroom, lighting and the avatar statue in the center, everything about this place is just awesome. 3.5 stars<br/>I loved themed restaurants and this one is done very well. And the food is decent too. At the lobby they have life size bust of Neytiri which is quite scary and does not resemble her very well. So I assumed it was just a cheap make shift place but boy was I surprised when I entered. Right from the flooring to the ceiling it's Avatar all the way.<br/>The service is slow but this was informed before we placed the order and since we were yapping away we dint mind. The biggest drawback is the lighting due to which you cannot make out what you are actually eating.<br/>It was empty on Friday afternoon since it's inside a 3 star hotel so it's not got much visibility and from the time it takes for service I guess they cannot handle much crowd.<br/>We had the non veg platter which had very good quantity of different varieties of Chicken and prawns and 3 pieces of Mutton.<br/>The Gobi Manchurian was okish and the Biriyani was decent. The quantities are good.

If you are going restaurant first time with your relatives,partners or people visiting you from outside Chennai who wants to discover Chennai food then definitely this is not the place to take them. Ordered 3 items, and the worst was subji biryani. Tasteless to the core. Malai kofta too sweet to digest. Ordered crispy baby corn instead got a boiled version. The best thing they served was mineral water(that too a brand which I have seen for the first time). Located in a good hotel the ambience is good with interiors and light effects and children play area. Two stars for the ambiance and interiors.

I'd normally have given this a 4 stars, but I went in with low expectations and was blown away by the experience. 5 stars for a wonderful afternoon.<br/>One of the best spots for kids under 8. Our 3 year old had a blast and this will definitely be one of our regular spots purely because of how much fun she had.<br/>Oh, the food was good too :) We opted for a la carte and it proved to be a good choice. Sweet and sour soup was excellent!<br/>Service was great and value for money.

After exiting the lift you enter a whole new world. The creepy door handle was a nice touch!<br/><br/>The place made use ambient use of fluorescent lights. The whole ambience was dim lit. We took the table from where a dragon was protruding out! The avatars set up are very real and the lighting is just like the movie scenes ! <br/>The lighting for each table could have been better , as it is real dark for even clicking pics.<br/><br/>The food served was good. They have a buffet serve during weekends for 821/- and they have very nice spread including sea food. <br/><br/>The a la carte is also decent and the food served was nice. <br/>They must definitely improve their Chinese skills. Avatar themed restaurant, children will love the atmosphere, we have ordered, fish Madagascar with lime cheese sause which was awesome and chicken masdar was also great and very succulent ,<br/>I loved the ambience and staff who are not disturbing but when need they are prompt, so many are there you will never be unattended

We went for a get together at avatar restaurant. I had reserved via Dine Out by which we had 20% Off. I called the restaurant and booked for the cave. The ambience was too good setting the mood for the theme. We have no complaint on the ambience. The worst thing is the service. They never bothered to come and check what's going on or if would want to order anything. Everytime we had to call them and give the order. We ordered around 7 starters for 9 ppl. After 30 mins came the first ordered dish and every other order took a min of 20 mins. It was very slow and every dish came separately which made things worse. By the time the next starter arrives the bite that we had wouldve been digested. After we ordered the main course it took more than 1 hour for the frst main course to arrive. We noticed that all other diners was eating only the buffet and we were the only. Al-carte. Having said that the servers are expected to come and ask every now and then. But they never bothered to come at all. They didn't serve mayonnaise for grill chicken and finger fish. When we asked they said it will come. But after 2 hours also it didnt come. We really regret the choice of choosing avatar for our get together. The only reason why I give 2 stars is because they provided 20% Off as mentioned in dine out. Other than that nothing was impressive and we decided not to go back to the restaurant ever again.

This is theme restaurant based on Hollywood movie Avatar located at Porur, Chennai. Ambience is dark and have used dim lamps. Food is good and healthy. I didn't try all food items so can't tell about specific dish as I went for buffet. Price is reasonable. Can try if you like theme restaurant .Very nice ambience

Avatar was a pleasant surprise - both in terms of food as well as the ambience. We happened to visit Avatar for dinner and the first thing that strikes you is the theme. It is very well made and the props are pretty great! The coloured water tiles in particular were brilliant! We ordered the fish fry and tandoori chicken for starters, chicken Biriyani, chicken noodles, stuffed paratha and paneer butter masala. The fish fry was packed with masala and cooked very well. It was spicy and not at all oily. The tandoori chicken was the highlight of the meal. It was a beautiful smokey flavour with just the right amount of spices. Personal favourite! The Biriyani, noodles and the paneer butter masala were cooked well and pleasant to taste. The paratha was my least favourite as it didn’t have any particular taste of its own. But it was good to eat with the sides. The service was great too. Overall it was a wonderful experience!

Yesterday visited this place and my honest and a bit long review about this place.<br/><br/>We friends group planned to have a dinner get together after a very long time with family and i was searching suitable place based on people reviews about the restaurant taste ambiance and hospitality. we had to choose from many positived reviewed places like Copper kitchen AB's andhra meals thalapakatti (as we preferred to select one in porur surrounding) . then i remembered one of cousin longtime back suggested this avatar theme restaurant as it was great place for kids so i was keen on this place bcos we have 5 small kids with us and wanted to visit a theme restaurant first time.<br/><br/>After reading many negative reviews about this place and food, i was reluctant but then thought to give a try bcos all the negative comments are from some months back and these management replies says they have improved hospitality and taste. after a long thought process i finally called this restaurant guy and booked a table for 10 along with the children. first thing i told this guy ( Named Mr.Dinesh ) instead of all those negative reviews about your restaurant iam booking table trusting your restaurant management promise replies about you improved your hospitality and food taste so please don't disappoint me he just replied ...sir Please visit us and tell us your review and definetly your opinion will be positive one. i was satisfied with his answer and we all finally reached the place at 7 pm.<br/><br/>We have been greeted warmly by mr. dinesh and the table was arranged very well in a corner place perfect for a get togather although we preferred that avatar special den table inside a cave like architecture i was been told it only have 8 people capacity so we have selected the one which was been arranged for us.<br/><br/>Initially we have not decided nothing on buffet or normal order and i was been convinced by dinesh and my friends to go for buffet priced at 820 rupees for adults and for kids its complimentary.<br/><br/>i thought it is bit over priced and was not satisfied with the pricing but after long discussions we have said yes for buffet.<br/><br/>First they have served starters in table which contains prawns 65, chicken tandoor, nethily fry, rice bowl chicken and vegetable starters all are good and tasty and they have not hesitated to refill all the plates in regular intervals truth to be said we all are satisfied with items and our stomach 75% full with the starters itself. <br/><br/>And we finally moved to main course and they have mutton biriyani, pulav and chicken gravy along with naan, panneer masala, rice, rasam curd rice , salads, sweets cakes icecreams and some other items ofcourse which i have not seen all those available items bcos of running out of time. <br/><br/>Me along with my grand foodie friends completely satisfied with all the dishes with minor glitches (biriyani is not hot and tandoor a bit over cooked and i would have loved if streamed rice is hot)<br/><br/>but on flipper side i wont complain bcos we all took very long time to move to main course nearly at 10pm.<br/><br/>Trust me they never hesitated even once and especially mr. Dinesh, he was warm and gentle and very helpful even serving staff too, everyone was gentle and helped us to have good and memorable time.<br/><br/>More importantly they are very pateint and gentle with the kids fyi information the 5 kids we have taken are the most naught kids and running all over the restaurant playing with the other empty table plates spoons and buffet table ( they have broken one glass and a plate) but the restaurant staff never complained and we adults are also very noisy and loud as we have lot of jokes and old memories to laugh of .<br/><br/>Not once the staff shown their face nor missing to be gentle and warm with every one of us including kids. if this is the case with any other restaurant iam very sure that they would have thrown out us in an hour of arrival but we have stayed there till almost 11 and finally paid the bill. I ordered a Poisson grill fish with lemon butter sauce and mutton Sheek kabab. The sauce was very very lemony and not able to keep in mouth.. And the kebab was very very and I mean very spicy and no mint chutney was given and the meat was not cooked well and it was chewy. overall a bad exp for my first time 🙃😒

Worst place to have food. We went to buffet but none of the dishes is good.. Only Biriyani and Ghee rice is Okay... The buffet costs around 750 bucks but it is not even worth for 200 bucks... Ambience is the only good thing, that's why I have given 1 star rating..

My Friend and I went to this avatar restaurant yesterday, to have some good moments. The ambience was damn good, and it's really awesome avatar theme, loved it. <br/>We didn't book the table prior, and after going there we have asked for some comfortable place hesitating to sit in the middle of people. He somehow have given one table, saying others were booked. We thought there will be rush of people, but nothing like that happened as long as we were there. I mean till 10 PM. <br/>We literally had to wait for fifteen minutes to order the food. He came after some time and asked for order. We thought he might have forgotten that we were sitting there. We didn't mind it, and ordered mushroom pepper fry as starter, masala kulcha, keema naan veg, mutter paneer as main course. We got starter after fifteen minutes and it was good, but we thought price should have been little less, when compared with the quantity. We had to wait for another half an hour for main course to arrive. There was no rush also, and we didn't understand what they were doing inside? How much time it takes to make naan and paneer ? . The main course he brought after half an hour was cold and felt like they made it fifteen minutes back and served us late. Again they forgot us ? What kind of fu**ng service you are doing to your service man ? How the hell on the earth can you not give a damn to your customers. Anyway after complaining that food was not hot, he took it inside and brought in bit hotter stage. By that time we were not caring about food and quality and all, we were regretting our decision to choose this restaurant.its not only with us, and the people on next to our table also complaining the same to in charge.<br/>In the last there was feed back form. Dont know whether the management at least will give a damn about that it not. They should if they want to grow.<br/>I felt I have wasted my hard earned money. It's not the theme and ambience that gives us good experience, but the best service to customers, and the importance you give to us, make us to come again. <br/>To keep it short, I don't recommend it .

We had been planning to visit this place for quite some time and finally we made it up to this beautiful themed restaurant last weekend.<br/><br/>We were very excited when we entered the place as it had the perfect ambiance and the theme has been carried out really well with the ceiling that had movement and made us feel that we are indeed part of the avatar world. The music was light and it is perfect for the atmosphere.<br/><br/>About the food, we decided to go ahead with buffet (non-veg & Veg) in the hope of trying different items. Started with the soup, for veg - we were served with sweet corn soup, it was pretty decent and is good to go of any veg lovers. For non-veg they offered Crab soup, ☹️ and that would be little disappointing if you are not a crab lover, it had the raw smell so we had to ask for an alternative. After the request, we had been given hot & sour chicken soup that was satisfying but it is definitely not the best and they got this when we were half way through the staters. <br/><br/>Usually when we go for buffet, we probably see the starters are more. Alas, it was just opposite here. They had only 3 starters for veg and 2 for non-veg ☹️ (expected to have atleast 4 or 5 varieties) The staters were good especially the Chicken Kebab was one of my favourite, Prawn Manchuria is not at its best but yes, still I would suggest this, as am a Prawn lover 😍 The veg starters had fried onion rings, Potato roll and chilli parota which was good.<br/><br/>Coming to the main course, it was disappointing as we dint have much choice here and whatever that we chose was nothing special. Mutton Biriyani was an average and was not up to the mark. I had Chappathi and Andhra chicken gravey, it was salty that I dint wanted to taste the 2nd piece of chappathi. The fried chicken was indeed good and I loved the way it was made (with fried curry leaves, sorry to have not noted the names of these items) There was this special egg masala that tasted very different and all of us loved it. Though we had limited options to choose for non veg, it was pretty surprising that they had a lot of choice for vegetarians. <br/><br/>The dessert that they have here is the highlight of all, this is the only place where we were very much satisfied. The caramel pudding, butterscotch mousse was awesome. Bread Halwa was also equally good as it had the right amount of sweetness and was served hot... <br/><br/>The service was pathetic, the people doesn’t have any knowledge about the food they serve here or anything for that matter. They are very much ready to point out their hand at their managers, that was terrible as every time we asked for something they were not sure about it.<br/><br/>My Overall view is that it would be better that you don’t go with the buffet, rather ask for suggestions for the best items available there so you could save few bucks by not choosing the wrong one (the names are fancy but the food is an average)

The Avatar themed restaurant was cool... i normally prefer lively bright eating areas... this was dark but since we went for a family meet we really enjoyed. Our orders came in really lste. Service was damn slow. But the food was good. <br/>Location and ambience is realy good<br/>

Visited Avatar for a team dinner, we were 14 and ordered almost all the variety of starters. 9 non-veg and 5 Veg starters. Everything looked great and tasted OK.<br/><br/>After that we ordered Roti and Naan items along with usual gravies, which tasted better. 75% of ppl liked the Roti items.<br/><br/>Then comes the Rice items, the quantity was more and taste was good again. Both veg and non-veg briyani and veg fried rice were nice.<br/><br/>Atlast we ordered for Dessert item and all completed in a flash except chocolate icecream.<br/><br/>Though they say it as themed restaurant, it is not up to the mark when compare other restaurant in chennai.<br/><br/>Overall a fine place to dine in at porur junction but it will hole your pocket.

Avatar is place where you can eat as well as experience the innovative ambience. I thought this place will be good for children’s rather than adults but completely not.everyone can enjoy the food and place even my grandpa admired to this place. Next coming to food, I didn’t even left out single spoon of the food in my plate. Superb taste and good quality food. Hospitality was mind blowing. Worth for the money and time. The way they served, greetings, etc were very new to me and I just loved it. Must visit restaurant in the city.

About the ambiance, the theme was well portrayed and maintained. Feels like food in jungle. Well served food without taking more time. Food, tasted good especially the lamb and the clay cooked chicken. Felt a bit of granny’s style of cooking in that chicken. The service was also up to the mark. Should feel the theme once being in chennai.

A very good place to have the best prawns served in the city. Especially grilled prawns and golden fried prawns. Iam not a big fan of prawns but I really love the prawns served in this place. very nice ambience and the place is so peaceful. Worth every penny and the experience I had here was great. This is one of the amazing place for theme based restaurants. Food is very good and ambience is very peaceful and neat. <br/>Grilled cottage cheese steak, Tandoori Chicken were mind blowing. Best place to take family and kids. Loved it overall.

We wer randomly searching on zomato for places for lunch and noticed the avatar restaurant at hotel chennai le palace..<br/>Going by the name we were very excited.. managed to read tru few reviews on zomato which highlighted that the ambience was great and food mediocre..<br/>So we tot we l take a chance and went headed ther..<br/>Must say the ambience is great.. a ot of hardwork has been put in to replace "pandora" kids wil sure enjoy the place<br/>They ave maintained te place quiet dark to highlight the artwork nd ambience.. but it was a litte uncomfortable wen it came to having our food. My 1st visit to this place, it's actually located inside Chennai le palace. It's a avatar themed restaurant and they have done the interior with much care and love, thou the entrance was a bit creepy the dine area was actually good, still a dark one. It also has a cave like place for ppl who come in big bunch. Coming to the food, it took a while to get my order on the table, lik evn the soup came after 20mins, it was very well mentioned that it takes minimum of 15mins to get the ordered food but hope the soups can be a bit fast. Other than that I really liked the food I ordered for, right from biriyani to dragon chicken everything was good and the fish was mouth watering and delicious I wud say tats a must try dish. Am sure I ll revisit to try the other dishes as soon as possible. This place will be good for casual dining, treats and family time as well. The cost for 2 was 1000 approx. Do visit for once to check out the them. 😋🙆🏻‍♂️🤘🏻

I went for their lunch buffet, some time back. <br/>Their food was pretty decent. Non vegetarian seems to be of better taste from what I heard from my friend. The vegetarian was okay I'd say. I loved their tomato soup, their starters and desserts too! Their roti items aren't the best. Their Chinese is a shade better. But the theme, that's something you gotta go to experience. ☺️

Awsome Restaurant with great ambience, panner dishes were with great taste , rate is also affordable, but chicken Briyani was not good. Veg items were all was excellent, appearance of the restaurant is toooooooooooooooooooooo good. Must visit place in Chennai. I loved it.
