Soul On Fire: Travel and Adventure
This place is another Restaurant in town which from ambiance to food, it takes you through authentic South Indian taste. The place is easy to locate on Google map and they have ample parking space . I reached this place after 3 PM but they were ready to serve after that also. The staff is well trained and courteous . The ambiance gives you vibrant feeling with good decor. they have good seating arrangement . The prices are good keeping in mind the quantity they are serving. This is pocket friendly place. The taste of the food is quite good. Good place to spend time with friends and family
Without Expectation
The menu offered a wide variety of mouth-watering dishes, cooked to perfection. The ambiance was inviting and the service was prompt and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the flavors and presentation of the food. A must-visit for non-vegetarian food enthusiasts!

Ambient environment with parking. Good number of dishes to taste and suitable to spend time with family and friends. Price of each dish is little high comparing to the taste but a decent place to try for non veg varieties and I appreciate the service. Overall a quality time spent with best food.

A very mouth watering chicken Biryani served in a appealing silve coated dishes. The resturant has some good traditional wall decor made of Indian pottery accessories.

Munveedu restaurant 🤍
A decent restaurant in Adyar to visit with your family for your quality weekend dayouts . Loved the ambience. As the name suggests, they've recreated the ambience exactly like a Munveedu with a traditional touch by the paintings, ample lighting and their interiors.
we tried their mutton soup, nandu rasam soup ,chicken Briyani, mutton Briyani and their traditional South Indian meals served with the perfect south Indian touch.
For starter we ordered fish finger 🐟 , chicken lollipops 🍗 , crab lollipops 🦀 , kola urada , dragon chicken, sura poitu. Starters was fantastic .and it's a must try ilaneer payasam✌️ . It is located 10 mins away from Adyar Eco park.
Parkings is too tricky . No big space but there will provide valet parking 🅿️.
Arun Jayaselvan
Food was good. Restaurant is neat, clean and made look like a old age style one. In my view it is a just a one time try place. Briyani is just a normal one, can't compare with any other. Meals is a best option.
MohanaSundaram Prakasam
We liked the ambience very much. Food was not the best but definitely very good. My wife liked the liver fry. They give chutney and sambhar for egg dosa. I loved it. I will say this is a must try restaurant.

Had a chance to have lunch at Munveedu Restaurant. All the starters which we ordered were really good. Also went for Non veg Meals, Mutton and Chicken briyani.. Meals was really good.. Briyani seems to be ok, bit spicy.. HIGHLIGHT was their Elaneer Payasam..It's worth the try.. Good Ambience for friends and families who wish to spend time..GIVE A TRY ONCE ATLEAST..
PRAJKTA P
Delicious food with good service.
***If you are not native then don't worry here The staff is friendly, co-operative and mainly speaks in Hindi and English.
They serve fresh fish and chicken.
Crab soup was spicy

I would say the food was at its best.
This was my first time at munveedu, it was team lunch from. My office and we were a team of 13.
The managing staffs helped us with the seating and made our dine hustle free.. The wait time was very minimal. Food was served in no time for nonveg dishes.. Veg dishes took a little extra time to be served. Food quantity was reasonable.
Hygiene and clean location and ambience.
Overall the experience was homely and tasty.
WON-Farika Keishing
Very good atmosphere, yummy dessert and food, reasonable price.
Ramanathan Saravanan
This is my first time visiting this restaurant. All the dishes we ordered was fantastic. Both quantity and quality wise. Price too seems to be in lower side when compared to similar restaurants. Only downside is if you are early on weekends, you need to wait in queue to get a table.

Our group of 12 had excellent experience when we were at lunch yesterday. Most of the dishes were good as we had Kola Urundai,Chicken Lollypop, Koduva and Kala fish fry, Nattu Kizhi and Mutton biryani and Non Veg Meals. Staff were good and only thing was we had to wait 30mins more than what they have informed.
Monci Arulraj
Overall great experience. People staying in or visiting Chennai should go here atleast once.

Authentic Tamil style traditional food, I was cruising through the space, simply searching for a pleasant spot to have lunch when I stumbled over this spot. Out front there a few group in a parklet and the scents of their food sold me. I went inside to discover another couple eating at one of the corners, and they were raving about the food. Everything looks OK. The spot is incredible and village style with a couple of corners inside, however they were doing a very decent takeout business. So I plunked down, looked at the menu and chose Mutton biryani , lamb curry and a rose milk . All were awesome, and since I like my food hot, they did and it was excessively (however at that point I requested it), yet everything I can say is that it was extremely tasty and I unquestionably will be back

Taste was top notch in all varieties especially in sea food. Best place for non-vegetarian and moreover their service is eye-pulling. Restaurant is constructed with limited space for parking and dinning. Otherwise good to go.

I tried fish finger, mutton biriyani and chicken porichadhu, the taste is really good. Ambience is nice. Strongly recommend to my friends and colleagues.

Ordered Dragon chicken and mutton biriyani & mutton kothu parota. Worth for the amount. Mutton kothu parota on top. But biriyani served in low temperature.

Ordered natu kozhi soup, nonveg meals, crab pepper fry, idicha natukoli, prawns fry, fish tawa fry and finally elaneer payasam.all the dishes were perfect native tastes.<br/>Had a good lunch with family.... <br/>everyone enjoyed with the food and service, whoever likes native style food, try manveedu restaurant....

This was my 2nd visit to this place after 2 years. The portion size for the Biryani was not fair compared to the price tag. Taste was also mediocre with unbalanced spice levels. The Prawn Thokku was extra salty and didn’t taste anything like prawns. The Chettinad Chicken was very watery with least resemblance to the original dish. Overall, the place has deteriorated over the last couple of years.

If u order nattukozhi they will provide broiler chicken.cheaters🤬

Careless attitude by the waiter , Poor Value for money , Food Taste different here ( Sweet Foods ) . Had gone to munveedu for a dinner with colleagues . The ambiance was great felt we would have a happy after having dinner , But wasnt happy with what we had . The First order was natukozhi rasam which was ( 99+20 for 1/2 portions ).. It looked watery it tasted watery and literally they have given us hot water with small pieces of chicken. So next we went with natukozhi idichathu , Very less quantity provided ,Taste wise was good but suddenly one of my friend noticed the chicken being too soft and found he had given us Broiler chicken .. I had called the waiter and enquired whether he has given broiler chicken and To my suprise he just took the dish away from us and changed it with natukozhi one . So the idea of the person here is lets provide them with normal kozhi idichathu which is ( Rs 160 ) tell it is natukozhi idichathu ( Rs240 ) and get more bucks . Already the cost is pretty high for the quantity given but cheating a customer like this wont help you stay long in the business . The other orders where mushroom muchuiran and mushroom peper which were good , Main course ordered kheema rice , Veg biryani and chicken parrota .<br/>Kheema rice was good with a slight sweet taste which was acceptable , But Veg biryani looked like a schezwan rice but tasted like a sweet .<br/>My overall experience i would have given 2.5 or 3 but this person over here tried to cheat me with providing broiler and saying it is natukozhi and changes when some customer identifies it is not natukozhi . So probably this person earns lot by doing so again and again . Was very furious regarding this issue . sorry munveed wont come again

This is my all time fav family restaurant for more than 2 years. Though am a vegetarian, i love their veggie foods.<br/>So last sunday we went there and we ordered<br/>1. Panagam - which were soo tasty<br/>2. Appam and Coconut milk - Mouthlicking<br/>3. Chinna vengaya Poondu Kulambu with White rice - Extraordinarily tasty one and we even used this kulambu for appam<br/>4. Madurai Nattu Kozhi idichathu - the one for my husband sply where he loved it and wanted more again.<br/>5. Nethilli Porichathu<br/>6. Ilaneer Payasam -Must try here.<br/><br/>Value for the money you pay and there is no GST added to your bill.
Vinod Jon
Only the ambience is good. Else the food took years to arrive at the table. Non veg meals - rice was cold ( which they reheated later upon we insisted). The karandi omelete was very salty. Lot more. Totally disappointed. Not worth the hype.
Vicky Kumar
One of the finest chettinad cuisine.. All the dishes tastes good. Worth to visit again
Mohamed Zulkifl
Excellent place for traditional food! Spices are perfect. Fav - mutton kothu parota , madurai naatu kozhi , pepper crab. Must try for non veg lovers.

Munveedu oru ok veedu<br/>Ambience was calm and good a different themed interior in a village style.<br/>Went for a lunch to start with ordered mann rasam soup service was quick and served hot.<br/>Soup tasted good and priks enjoyed it.<br/>For main course ordered 1 veg and non veg meals. I liked the non veg meals everything tasted good, but priks complained a lot about the veg meals sambar was worst and veggies were ok. Not a good place to have veg meals .<br/>Overall after paying the bill you get a feel oru ok aana food taan nu but this was my feel and to priks this was a below average place for meals.

I absolutely fell in love with the Ambience of Munveedu. Calm, Peaceful place for romantic candle light dinner with mild Tamil songs played behind.<br/>The staffs were polite.<br/>We had Aattu kal soup which tasted delicious.<br/>Chilly chicken was well cooked and parotta , chicken chettinad perfectly matched.<br/>Worth the money! Kudos to the Quality of food!<br/>I will recommend this place for sure!
Sudarsan Umashankar
Worst food ever had. No salt , no spice. Panagam is horrible. Vada is spoiled. All gravies are without salt and spice. No Ac . Too much priced. Overall very bad experience
Daniel Muralidharan
I have been here with my family on monday for dinner. I actually loved their name board and parking space. When we entered we felt that it is placed like an old village house which made us feel good. When it comes to food, it was quite average. And for dessert we ordered ilanir payasam, whereas we are very sure that payasam was made atleast a week back and it was completely frozen and the waiter didnt even check that before serving. Apart from the dessert remaining everything we felt okay only.

Ordered Brainfry, thala curry, kilangu meen roast and naan.i liked brainfry.it was good and bit different. thala curry and kilangu meen was average. They didn't have gravy for liver,Boti, thala curry , all are mostly dry types..Normal mutton pieces gravy was available though.
Pritheka Kumar
Mun Veedu had a decent and calm ambience!<br/>Aatu kaal soup was perfectly traditional, tasted good.<br/>Mutton Biriyani in its pure south indian style had enough number of pieces in it.<br/>Madurai Naatu Kozhi idichadhu was so delicious and tasted more than I expected. Would recommend this dish for sure.<br/>Prawns Thokku was not spicy which I wanted it be , instead it was a bit sweet.<br/>On the whole, this place is perfect for a dinner with family and friends.

This doesn't come under luxury fine dining restaurant but it do comes under authentic Tamilnadu feels. The ambience is good . The food tastes good . I would recommend you to taste mutton briyani .
Abdul Aleem
very good location in a quiet residential area in my own locality of Gandhi Nagar.<br/>doesnt really come across as a luxury fine dining place but certainly lives upto its authentic Tamil Nadu feels. 9/10 for interior design especially what theyve done with the walls.<br/>Interesting but not quite extensive menu.<br/>the prawns biryani did not live upto my expectations however the Kizhinga Meen Fry and Kulfi pot were great. Good Service. No GST or Service charge taken.

There was a offer in nearbuy , there a good set of combo..<br/>Regarding the food, everything tasted decent ,except vadai- which s not cooked inside properly,.. service was good, and neat ambience..

I’ve wanted to go to this place for a while, and I did very recently. First thing you notice about this place will be the interiors. They’ve come up with a village ambience, which is actually quite nice. There’s even a bullock-cart parked outside. 😁 And if you love South Indian non-vegetarian food, you’ll love this place. The chicken chukka is a must-try! Little bit on the spicier side, but it’s great! 👍🏼 I’d definitely go back to this place again! 😊

Thali meals so good and nonveg starters are great, good place for nonveg lovers<br/>Natukozhi dry, nethili fry, airameen kolambu, ilanir payasam all are too good .......😍😍😍

We came to Munveedu hoping for authentic Tamil cuisine. Badly disappointed. We were given used glasses to drink from. The pathetic lighting makes the place so eerie. Ordered veg thali , which was cold!! Mutton Sukka never got served but showed up in the bill. The crab puttu might as well have been egg burji!! The fish fry was tasteless!<br/>ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Munveedu located right next to cafe coffee day at Adyar.<br/>Parking will not be problem as they have enough space.<br/><br/>Visited Munveed twice<br/>Once with friend and then with family<br/><br/>Been there for lunch<br/>Ambience - theme of Tamil culture. Well maintained. The table chair prefectly goes with the theme and tradition of Tamil Nadu. The restaurant would make you feel that you are at home in your native place. Personally It reminds me of my grandma's place. Because of this particular reason at my second visit I took my family. Even dad said the same.<br/>They could improve their ambience by adding the eco friendly clay products such as plates or even they could make use of plam banana leaves that would well go with the theme<br/><br/>Food -<br/>Their menu filled with the exotic dishes from south indian, north indian and even Chinese<br/><br/>We ordered<br/>Veg Briyani - I just loved it. perfectly blend with the flavour.<br/><br/>Meals - as usual meal nothing special and even the taste is not upto the mark. The keerai they serve with meals is good<br/><br/>Veg pulao - it's good.<br/><br/>Dessert<br/>Sweet of the day was good<br/>I had vanilla icecream as they don't serve much flavour<br/>The worst ice cream I have ever had<br/>Felt like I had some sugar power with ice cubes.<br/>Found some plastic paper in it.<br/><br/>Price - 2.5/5<br/>Taste - 3/5<br/>Ambience - 3.5/5

We walked into Munveedu to find it busy and it took them about 10 minutes to seat us.<br/>The whole restaurant had dim lighting which was took us a while to get used to.<br/>Our order of 2 veg meals and a Kozhi porichatu was served quickly. The rice served was not hot, it was just warm. The portion sizes were small but that was fine as they were happy to refill it when asked and it helps control wastage too.<br/>The servers however seemed quite lost and unsure of what was served. When we asked them to give us another serving of Karakozhambu, we were given chicken gravy. These I feel are things they should be mindful about when they are catering to a variety of people<br/>Overall we had an average experience.

Visit - Twice- once with friends/ other with colleagues!<br/><br/>Ambiance,parking and staff-courtesy - ( 0.9 / 1.0 ) - Traditional as the name says! A well spaced restaurant with interiors representing Tamil Nadu culture. No complaints on parking space. Staff was polite but little slow in response.<br/><br/>Cost for Food - ( 0.5 / 0.5 ) - Though some may feel starters are bit overpriced, overall the pricing is quite apt for the food they serve<br/><br/>Starters / Soups (1.1 / 1.5) - We tried tomato soup (little watery, not so creammy) and chicken melagu rasam soup (kindof! Was so good for my cold). Followed by the soups were series of starters - Vazhapoo vada (Home made taste 😋), pepper Mushroom something! (Was best of all), Vanjaram fry (was usual good), nethili fry (Didn't suit my taste) and chicken lollipop (was above average).<br/><br/>Main course ( 1.2 / 1.5) - Dosa / Egg Dosa with Mutton chettinad gravy was divine 😍 (Mutton pieces were hard though)! It also went good with kadai paneer masala . Butter Naan and Garlic Naan were usual good. Didn't try anything else<br/><br/>Drinks (0.5 / 0.5) - Ilaneer payasam is worth the money 🤩 Few other items weren't available!<br/><br/>Total - 0.9 + 0.5 + 1.1 + 1.2 + 0.5 = 4.2 (~4.0)

Worst restaurant..<br/><br/>Don’t ever think to go here.. I went with my family for lunch and we have ordered for meals for which they took more than a hour to serve.. Not only us, all the customers were unhappy about the poor service and were fighting with the hotel management..<br/><br/>Food taste also not that good..<br/><br/>NEVER EVER GO THERE

We ordered Khema rice and chetinad. Khema rice is fried chicken mixed curry! Disappointed. Staff are impolite and rude! Expected an authentic experience! But it is a run of the mill restaurant. Only the name is different.

Checked in Mun Veedu for 2 reasons..<br/>1.Name<br/>2.Menu<br/><br/>Authentic south indian dish with a mud house themed setup!!!..Located in Adyar near Azzuri Bay!! And went in with least expectations..Menu is compact and priced less..FYI they don't charge any taxes!!..Food was OK..not too bad,not too great it was in that zone..And the space is limited, better Mae reservations if you're going as a group!!<br/>Customer service was good..overall a pretty decent place to throw a party and people who love authentic foods..

Visited this place for lunch with colleagues. Mutton chukka, naatu kozhi varuval, biryani tasted divine. Ambiance was good and the restaurant was fully packed since it was Friday noon. Overall a good place to dine in to have some mouth watering south Indian food

Locality: 4/5<br/><br/>Ambience: 4.5/5<br/><br/>Food: 4/5<br/><br/>Service: 3/5<br/><br/>Value for money: 3.5/5<br/><br/>I had a little trouble finding the place. The restaurant is quite spacious and there was good room between the tables. The authentic munveedu setup really works and it adds flavour to your experience. We wanted to try the non-veg meals, but it wasn't available for dinner. A few starters mentioned weren't available too, so we were a bit disappointed in regards to the choice of food. In between checking for availability, and recommending us alternative dishes, the service was delayed in more than one occasion. The food was good. I felt the quantity could've been more, but it was justified for the price. Overall, we had a satisfying dinner. I'll probably come back for the non-veg meals during lunch.

When you feel like trying traditional food! This should be your must on the list and flavors and aroma pulls you for pepper they add on mutton chuka! Meals is good with sufficient quantity! <br/>Bon appetite ;)

Opted for lunch for a group of 10.<br/>Nice theme with dim lights. Loved their interiors. <br/>The environment outside the restaurant is also very good.<br/>Our orders:<br/>Nandu soup:<br/>Good one and tasted well. <br/>Those who had aatu kaal soup also loved it.<br/>Naatukozhi porichathu :<br/>Crispy one and chicken is not soft.<br/>Tandoori chicken:<br/>Was good.<br/>Mushroom pepper:<br/>No pepper flavor. Lots of mustards.<br/>Gobi 65 was disaster. <br/>Non veg meals: <br/>Not so great. But good.<br/>Briyani items we ordered also good. But veg froed rice was bit sweet.<br/>Finished with Elaneer payasam which was creamy and rich. They also got Paanagam and Rose milk.<br/>Service has to be increased to avoid confusion in delivery.<br/><br/><br/>

Limited north indian menu and tandoor menu, but good. Starters and main course items are good.<br/><br/>But the biryani disappointed me. No taste in biryani. Please improve it.

First of all the location was so peaceful and a broad road. You really get a feel of getting into a manveedu. Nice themed restuarant with each and every pieces exactly vintage.<br/><br/>Coming to dishes, it was awesome and so spicy. Really mouth watering dishes out here, especially my favorite is Nandu Poriyal which is shellless, you should defintely try that.<br/><br/>All dishes are wonderdul and definetely recommended.
Vignessh Raveekumaran
I got home delivery from this place after long time ,the food was piping hot ,the chicken tikka masala was good but had less pieces ,similar was the chilli chicken ,the chicken Keema rice was so bad ,had no pieces nor any salt in it ,overall food was very average for the price I paid

This restaurant is located in Gandhi nagar, next to CCD. Amidst the hustle n bustle of the city this place is perfect for a relaxing lunch or dinner.<br/>Quite nominal in pricing and good with portion.<br/><br/>Aatukal soup- Wakes up your taste buds with perfect blend of spices and super soft mutton leg.<br/><br/>Chicken porichathu- Had the crispiness but the flesh was not soft.<br/><br/>Nattu kozhi Biryani - How can u go wrong with biryani? Biryani was subtle, with mild flavour.<br/><br/>P. S - Try their n. v meals and elaneer payasam<br/><br/>
Sathyan S
Loved the setup. Exudes tranditional feel all over. Few might feel it to be little dim lit.<br/><br/>Excellent service. Prompt. Decent serve times. Their Vazha Poo vada is a must. Very tasty. Tried out their Chicken Kheema Rice (mentioned as their special in the menu card), but I didn't find it to be special. It was nothing more than Chicken Fried Rice with kheema pieces.<br/><br/>A decent experience all together.
Vigneshwaran Mohanasundaram
Ordered their specialty chicken kheema rice , but rice isn’t cooked properly and it’s basically chicken fried rice cooked with some turmeric.. wouldn’t recommend to any one .. stay away

Opted this place when I was craving for typical south indian non veg food. Went here for lunch on Tamil New Year. Got a place for two immediately. Ambiance was good. Place had a typical South Indian feel. <br/><br/>There was a huge crowd next to us and the waiters were concentrating on them for the most part almost ignoring us. Everything we ordered, asked for was delayed whereas the next table got it all as soon as they ordered and the waiters were waiting nearby them. <br/>We ordered one Non veg meals, Vanjaram kozhambu and steamed rice and because of this attitude didnt feel like ordering more. Dishes tasted good but didnt enjoy it since we got irritated and had to ask repeatedly every single time.<br/>No point in serving good food if your attitude is like this folks!
Prasanna Ganesan
We went here for a dinner, it is easy to locate and parking is also not hassled. If you're riding in the evening make sure to notice a speed breaker nearby this hotel which is not easily visible. As menu claims it is an authentic chettinad cuisine.<br/><br/>We tried three soups(sweet corn veg soup, creamy chicken soup and naatu kozhi soup). Naatu kozhi soup was little watery tasting average whereas other two soups were better.<br/><br/>Starters: sura puttu, Madurai naatu kozhi porichadhu, tangri kebab.<br/>Sura puttu tasted more like egg podimas where we couldn't get the exact taste of fish.<br/>Madurai naatu kozhi porichadhu is the one dish which was very tasty and good<br/>Tangri kebab taste is very average.<br/><br/>Main course: Mutton biryani, chicken biryani, phulka, stuffed paratha, chicken gravy<br/>Phulka and chicken gravy was very good. Phulka was very fresh and soft.<br/>Biryani is the total flop. It has no flavour and no taste of biryani.<br/><br/>Desert: Ilaneeer payasam is average but tasted like badam keer and the tender coconut pieces added were very hard.<br/><br/>Price: very expensive<br/>Food: Taste not worth the money<br/>Quantity very minimal- 3/5<br/>Quality 3/5<br/>Service: very average 2.5 (not even monitored the tables and filled the water)<br/>Overall:3<br/><br/>

Soups and starters <br/>Let’s start with soup, soup are not up to expectation from my point of view. <br/>For starters we had Madurai nattu kozhli idichathu tastes good and sura putu taste like egg podimas. <br/><br/>Main course<br/>Being in Chennai, we always go for Briyani as main course so do I. I opted for mutton, pieces were well cooked and Briyani was good. <br/>Pulka and chettinadu mutton gravy was top notch combination, I would personally recommend to have it. <br/><br/>So here it how ends for dessert had Ellaneer payasam not at all impressed. <br/><br/>Suggestion :<br/>Something new on the menu will attract customers. <br/>Quantity of starters were less when compared to its rate.<br/><br/>Ambiance’s were pleasant and give you rural feel to the eye.
Madhava Narayanan
Didn't expect meals to be so good. Non veg meals was awesome. Kaadai porichathu was equally too good.<br/>Elaneer payasam is all time favorite.<br/><br/>-1 rating for the horrible water served(No other option than to buy bottled water) and the inactive captain.

Found the restaurant via internet. Ambience is good. walls will be designed with kolam. Quantity of the food can be increased. Quality was good. Price was reasonable. Elaneer payasam and pot kulfi was amazing.

This was my second time to munveedu. Having loved it the first time, I chose this place again. Having waited for a long time we were finally made to sit. The tables were not made properly. My glass also smelled and I had it exchanged. The service was really slow and lethargic. The food which used to great, was only cold and a bit bland. The only thing i liked was the chicken sukka. The biryani and other side dishes were very cold. I regret ordering them. The waiters also seemed to be confused and were not well trained. I am very disappointed with this place and will not visit again. It's only a one timer.

Very good place, with the ambiance going perfectly well with the name of the place. The setting is typically rural, but with all modern urban comforts. I was meeting a college friend of mine after many years, him being a local took me here and did most f the ordering. I started with the Nandu Melagu Rasam or the crab meat soup. This was an excellent way to start the meal with a substantial doze of black pepper. Along with this I had a vegetarian starter which was not included in the menu but was a fry using raw plantain. For the main course I had chapatis with the mutton chettinad. The mutton was a bit chewy, but good thing being the pieces were stripped of bone. This helped in terms of quantity. The disappointment at this stage was the slow delivery of chapatis. It took a really long time for the second batch of a single one to come in. After all this I had a Panagam to wash it all up with. Its a simple but highly refreshing drink made of a jaggery base and dry ginger powder mixed in. Overall, a highly satisfactory meal and highly recommended.

quiet and simple place...<br/>loved the ambience so much...<br/>food was like home cooked....<br/>hope i had gone with more space in my stomach..<br/>worth visitone moore time...<br/>

As a veggie, you might not find that many options. For non veggies you might find this place cool and a traditional food place. On veggie part I had a good variety of Karakuzhambu. இளநீர் பாயசம் was very nice (however the cost was on a higher node). Worth a try for Non-vegetarian ppl.

Visited this place a couple of times.. food and theme is okay.. staffs are very rude.. ordered chicken kheema rice but got fried rice in return.. when I called and asked the person there said this is kheema rice.. it's called so because they put shredded chicken. Why do they have to name is a KHEEMA rice only got knows... Not recommending to my friends..

Wanted to try a place we hadn't tried before. Chanced upon this place. We started with Aatukaal soup which was really good and increased our expectations about the dishes we ordered. We started with Nandu varuval which was ok but not upto the mark. Then Kelangu meen fry which was a let down without salt and spice. And when asked they said the taste of the fish is like that (which obviously was a lame justification). Then came the Veg kothu parotta which was basically made sometime during the day and served after re-heating. Karandi omlette was also a let down. Kal dosai and Ayira Meen kuzhambu was our main dish. Dosai was good but again the meen kuzhambu made sure we are not gonna order anything more here. The ambience and service are good but without tasty food, nothing else is going to help us have a good experience.

I guess you can’t rate 3.5 anymore so I’m rating 3 for this restaurant.A really nice location but sadly being under played a lot.Everything about this restaurant is the same and can be put in one sentence:they don’t provide anything very special while at the same time they don’t provide anything bad either. It holds good for food, ambience and service.

2.5 for the ambience and staff<br/>Starters : aatukaal soup , it was ok.<br/>Main : <br/>Mutton Keema rice : Its mutton chops mixed with rice and bad taste . <br/>Sora puttu : was ok .<br/>Roti : Good<br/>Paneer curry : bangam <br/>

Visited this place with my colleagues! Being a vegetarian, I went in with thoughts of having an 'OK-OK' lunch, But on the contrary everything tasted great!! The AiraMeen Saiva Kuzhambu (one where plantain flower is substituted for fish) topped the list. Excellently done (y) Nevertheless, as suggested by everyone, Ilaneer Payasam and Vazhai Poo Vadai were also good.

This is the 2nd time am visiting this restaurant after 4 years. Zameen virundhu should be the popular choice here - provided with a variety of items made a full pledged heavy meal.Vazhai poo vadai and ilaneer payasam was ecstatic among them.

We visited this restaurant after 4 years. Back then the food was great. However today was not a gud experience. There was no biriyani at 8.30 pm. A hotel famous for non-veg at wee hours doesn't have biriyani came as a surprise. We ordered finger fish whoch came burnt and tasted raw. Keema rice was the only alternative we had and that was like a average fried rice. No salt or spices in side dishes (chicken chettinad). Finally we tried elaneer payasam, it was too cold and tooo sweeet that we ended up packing everything we ordered. Staffs have a long face and news channels running in the restaurant spoils the whole ambience.<br/>Disappointed with the entire experience.

Very neat and decent place. The ambience is cosy and had a feel that we were visiting a typical munveedu. <br/>Came with our client from US and the restaurant team could understand when we required mild spicy in all the items that were ordered. <br/>A good experience

It's was a very poor experience.. The service was so poor.. And the taste is not up to the mark.. They took literally 1 hour to serve each order.. Nd I warn you.. It's not worth the wait.. Waste of money and waste of (a lot of) time..
Parthasarathy Suyambu
Poor service.Rice was cold and not cooked properly. We waited for 45mins for meals. Then they came with only 3 and waited for 30 mins for remaining meals. They served what we have not ordered and they didn't serve what we have ordered.Improve the service please.

Checked in on back to back days. Once took my friend who came back from Australia who expected a pucca South Indian delight. The very next day took my team of 16 people for the team lunch. One of the best places to experience the real taste of South.<br/><br/>Chicken chukka<br/>Pepper chicken are the two best dishes I had here.<br/><br/>Ambience will be very good as well.<br/>Note: food will be served very quickly and will be pocket friendly.

Nice ambience. Munveedu - A house made of sand! They have tried to bring a feel that way. But in some way this restaurant is posh. The food is good, but the waiting time is more. Shiv Ram

Have heard so much about this place and the waiting list for this place proves the rush and demand of the place.<br/><br/>Coming to the ambience its cool , food is good we tried muutton sukka &ilaneer pasayam<br/><br/>Staff were cool and polite. were obedient and made our day at this wonderful place.

Was asked by the waiter to vacate the table immediately after paying the bill..he said other people were waiting. Clearly they were operating like a fast food place and not like a restaurant..food was just ok.

To start of with I was a bit doubtful about the Chettinad cuisine since am not a big fan of it...But the place changed my opinion of the Chettinad cuisine and all of the dishes were really yummy!!As I was a vegetarian I had opted for sweet corn veg soup....and that soup was heaven to begin with....followed by the soup was the starters since I had gone with my huge family of 11 and only 3 among us were veg where I was one among them!!!So the starters which I had ordered was paneer tikka and mushroom milagu fry both of them were really good then onto the main course..... Garlic naan was the one I ordered with paneer butter masala.... everything had a authentic Chettinad flavour added to it....Finally onto the desserts my favourite part of the dinner 😋 I ordered their authentic ellaneer payasam which was a ultimatum of sweetness and an epic to end my dinner with So I strongly suggest all the people who have a love for Chettinad cuisine to visit this place!!!!

Went for lunch as a bunch of 8. Booked table thru zomato and table was very happily waiting with a reserved tag.<br/> Amused seeing no crowd on festive day. Started with crab , chicken , tomato soups. Moved to a full tandoori chicken potato roast & valapoo vadai. Next coupl of set meals, chicken biriyani, chettinad chicken curries and naan. Illanner payasam , gulab jamuns and kulfi to wrap it up. All dishes were well balanced , well cooked and well portioned. All happy faces at A cost of 3.3K. Well priced.<br/><br/>Suggestions - i will not order set meals or kulfi next time. Not the best place to have these two.<br/>But I will ask again n again for their startes, curries , generous butter naans and illaneer payasam

Munveedu... as the name goes it resembles the village home in the olden days .. with some modern touches... I wasn't comfortable with the seating.. We ordered for vazhaipoo vadai which was good, Veg meals came with little bit of pakoda, papad, sambhar, rasam, buttermilk, kootu, poriyal & gulab jamun which was decent enough. From the non veg friends, the take was on the Chicken tandoori which tasted good. Briyani was good too. The service was quiet fine.

Peaceful and quite ambience for a mid day meal. <br/>Don't know about the crowd in evening and weekends. <br/><br/>The menu is very inviting. Vegetarian ayira Meen Kuzhambu!! Substituting vazhapoo for fish. Got to try it.<br/><br/>Enjoyed it the simple yet authentic veg. Meal thali. <br/><br/>Interiors reflect the name well. Munveedu. A good experience. <br/><br/>Staff can ask if we needed anything in between. More hospitality wd be nice.

It was Onam and we were looking for place that serves sadhya.... Since all placed were packed ended up visiting this place.... Have passed this restaurant many times but never went in....<br/><br/>Not much parking space but if you go early will find a place to park your car... Ambience is okay... Reminds you of houses in Karaikudi....<br/><br/>We we're welcomed by not so enthusiastic people but no complaints... We were a gang of 6 adults and 3 kids.... Ordered literally everything in the menu.... <br/><br/>Chicken lolypop was okay... Mutton, chicken and prawn starters were good... It was made in chettinadu style... Was spicy and nice... Nethli fry was crisp and tasty.... <br/><br/>Went for kotthu parrota for main course... It was decent... Good portion for one person... Ordered steamed rice fish curry and prawn fry... All tasted great... We couldn't have asked for a better place...<br/><br/>Elaneer paisam was ok ok.... Staff need to be little alert... A very laid back attitude... Otherwise a wonderful place to go and enjoy good food

GokulaKrishna Ilavarasu
Place is authentic... Not the food... Briyani was average. Bread and gravies too not authentic... We could get these in a typical northindian restaurant....milagu rasam is good...

Food was very good but the quantity was very less for the price. The ambience was good and the staff very polite. Aayirameen saiva kuzhambu with aapam or rice was very tasty.

Very nice flavors <br/>Lot of special item which we must try idicha koli, kola rice, nandu poriyal <br/>Illanier payasam was the best<br/>Nice ambiance <br/>Best place for our traditional food <br/>

Attractive and Rural Name and outlook brought us to have dinner at MUN VEEDU while all other nearby restaurants were crowded. <br/>I was hoping homely food and well cooked meats. <br/>Book like menu with so many varieties, after browsing I ordered madras Nandu poriyal without onions, waiter seemed like a know it all, I preferred no onions which will be like only egg and crab mix so I cancelled it.<br/>Ordered chicken tandoori, prawn pepper fry, egg masala , paratha and dosa.<br/>Chicken tandoori 80% cooked 20% raw.<br/>Prawn pepper fry - taste wise good but have eaten tastier prawns in other restaurants.<br/>Egg masala ok<br/>Paratha little hard and crispy which also arrived late<br/>Dosa home taste and good.<br/><br/>Waiter had issues in 2 other tables too so I think service needs to improve. Less talk more work will be better.<br/><br/>Ambience are quite rural and classical. <br/><br/>

Good food, nice ambience. Soothing music... A place you should try for chettinad cusine.. service was homely (read courteous and slow).. The non veg Thali and the elneer payasam stole the show... Infact, we packed some for later

I have been to this place before maybe a year back but the taste is much much better than my last visit. The traditional ambiance with South Indian flavour taste. The price is good and hospitality was okay. Pepper crab is awesome. Even chicken, mutton and fish is goood. As satisfying place for a hungry stomach With no regrets.

Good interiors, comfortable chairs, friendly staff. Best part is their awesome food. From chicken, mutton dishes and biryani to paneer dishes everything is fantastic. Soups are great too. Overall a good place to customers with family or friends..

The taste of the food was good.Biryani had a different flavor and it was good. But the most affecting factor was service. No attention to the customers. All around the room I could hear complaints being raised.Went with family and it was pathetic. They can give some training to the staff out there. And also the food must be served hot .The ambience and the taste were a plus.
