Review Noodle Theory - Chennai (Madras)

Balasubramanian G
Customizing your noodles is the theme this restaurant tries to build its basics on and it does deliver on its promise in a fantastic way. You can either opt to use your phone to build your menu or you can opt to go the traditional way by pulling out a sheet of paper (which is the menu card) and check mark the options you need your noodles in. There is opt in varieties available for rice too. The quantity was good for the price being charged. The sauce (I ordered the Thai chilli sweet sauce) was rich and full of flavour. The toppings were generously scattered. The entire dish was presented to perfection. They actually waited for me to finish the main course before serving the dessert. This might sound like an obvious thing to do but there are so many restaurants out there that don't. This restaurant is straight off going into my recommendations list.

Have been a while since we have been served full and tasty with a good price. We found this unexpectedly on google and had let a try. Super worthy, the variety of dishes they had was amazing. You also have an option to try customized wok. They have both online ordering and via a hardcopy form (❤️❤️). Ordered spicy tofu bao, chilli paneer bao, veg tempura in sushi, tuppa: was sufficient for 4 people. Music was an additional advantage. Though it is a limited space, it's perfect for a date or a small gang lunch.

I went to noodle theory to get my customised noodles I Wanted to try all time. I walked in and chose the ingredients I wanted to try. But they are dry tossed noodles, like with no soup or broth. So i asked the owner whether they have any other noodle with broth, and he told me to try "TUPPA" Which he said was amazing and that it would be better than the customized noodles. Which I must say, won my heart.. It was so freaking good, adequately spiced and felt like a really wholesome meal.. The broth was hot and felt like heaven with every sip.. It was a very big bowl and for my surprise I finished the entire bowl myself.. It was amazing ! chefs kiss 💋 Please, this is a dishh u should try atleast once before u die.. I would share the pictures.. But it wouldn't give much appreciation to the noodle that it really deserves.. Tuppa🫀😭 u have my heart... Thanks to the owner who recommended me that amazing noodle! Also the ambience! Freaking cool!

Ambience: It's a small space with around 6 tables. The vibe as well as the service was good. Food: We had a few items off the menu of which we loved one of the items. The goli Soda wasn't good though. And the noodles werent as delicious as we were hoping. Cost: It cost us around 380+ per person. Must try: Crunchy lotus stem

The rates are as per standard market price. We have a ton of options to customize as per our taste. The food was yummy.

Dishes ordered. 1.) Spicy tofu bao 2.) Black pepper flat noodles 3.) Classic veg dimsum 4.) Crunchy Lotus stem. TL:DR type of review Great taste., Customisable woks, great for spice enthusiasts. Everything we tasted was great Except the classic veg dimsum. DO NOT BUY the Classic veg dimsum. It is bland and practically tasteless. Even feels like the filling was sand. Please note, this was my personal opinion of the taste and texture of the dish and some of you may like it better than i did.

Had a wonderful time there!! Both in terms of food and ambience! We're usually not big on vegetarian restaurants, and almost didn't eat here, but thought why not give it a try. Absolutely 0 regrets!!!! The food is incredibly tasty, never once did the thought cross my mind that I'm not eating non veg, it was busy appreciating just how delicious everything was! The presentation of the food was also above and beyond what we ever expected, elevating the whole experience to the next level. Unrelated to the food, the place was empty when we went to eat, but during our meal a mother came with her two children to get some ice cream for them, the older boy had got a short break from his karate classes. The boys were really sweet and the whole interaction was very wholesome!

A good place to try asian food. I had dimsums and the Bao. The flavour is unique and a must try suggestion from my side would be the dimsums. One suggestion would be for the restaurant to separately microwave the brownie instead of along the plastic box. (I'm not sure whether it's microwavable). A good spot to hangout with friends.

It is a really cost place with a neat and clean indoors. The ambience really is nice. Need to reach their early to get a good spot. The restaurant is open till 3 am so it's a good place for night out as well. The owner is very helpful and staffs are quick and well behaved. The food is delicious even though it's pure vegetarian. I am a pure non vegetarian so when I vouch for a vegetarian restaurant it has to be very good and this one lets you make your own choice of noodles and the juices with scientist's names are very delicious.

Dinner for two ₹.773/- Crunchy lotus steam, wheat noodles with fragrant chilli oil sauce, basil rice with green Thai curry and over above tesla (watermelon ice tea).. Really enjoyed Green Thai curry with basil rice.. yummy taste.. must try. Overall excellent experience. Over and above it is Pure Veg.

Must try the lemon garlic butter sauce. It has very mild and soothing taste. Garlic butter lovers must try this flavour. I enjoyed the full bowl. But it's slightly expensive 259₹ per bowl. The white chocolate brownie taste more like blondie and the quantity is less. I would not suggest the brownies.

This is my first time trying proper Asian food. To be honest, it does taste pretty good. Try the wok definitely! You can customize the wok as per your likings. Two people can share a wok. Bao bun was decent. Not a big fan of sushi though. You can do contactless ordering through the QR code placed in the table. The guy present at the counter was very much helpful in choosing our toppings and explaining what it's all about. Car parking might be an issue. Sufficient bike parking available.

The ambience was neat and clean. Service was also good. The way menu was presented is new and was different for me. It was like choosing your own add-ons for the noodles. Taste wise ,noodles was yummy but the Tibetan dumplings were not up to the expectation.Overall it is a good place to hangout and have some delicious noodles. Also, this place has only veg menus FYI. Enjoy the theory.

Chose a Spinach noodles bowl with Tofu, Mushroom, Veggies and Basil garnished with Brown Onion and Burnt Garlic on top of which was the Kung Pao Curry sauce. The soft Tofu texture, kicky & Spicy curry sauce with the sour basil taste was great in specific. Peking Dumplings – Mixed veggies translucent mini dumplings; munch them in a single bite to get the best kick out of it. The Sake vinegar and the Sweet Chilli dip completed the jigsaw for the dish. Tesla – A watermelon based Iced-tea which spiked the taste buds right from the time it landed on the tongue; Sweet and Tangy. Though the quantity was less, the taste did complete justice to the price. The ambience was pleasant with good lighting and decent parking space for vehicles. I was happy with the service in particular in the store at that time of the day

Ordered Jain. But food received wasn’t Jain. And this is not the first time! Has happened before also! Why can’t the concerned person read the order properly?

This place was such a joke !! Went with one of my friend and tried mallaka noodles , lotus stem , some drinks and some fried rice . None of them were upto the Mark . Lotus stem tasted so old and mallaka noodles was very very bad with lots of ginger . Mallaka is a Malaysian sauce made with Ginger , green chillies and garlic but all I could taste was only ginger . For the given price point neither quantity nor taste do the justice .
Coming to service could of uncles were sitting on the counter we are aware that it was a self service restaurant but even the self service was at its worst . Person acts like he owns some Michelin star restaurant . Food atleast i would rate 1.5 stars and there is a scope for improvement always but attitude towards the customers and customer service doesn’t seem like there is gonna be any progress cuz the guy doesn’t what’s he upto . Ppl think Just because leasing a property on a high street they can charge a fortune and feed us bullshit .

Enjoyed the food and the friendly service of the restaurant. Good ambience but could use some cleaning. The right place for family gatherings and hangouts.

This restaurant will bring our childhood back for sure. They have a very interesting theme of incorporating science and food 😍 We brought Graham Bell and M. curie drinks also we ordered lotus stem 🍝. The very interesting part was we get to choose our fav veggies, add-ons and etc.. You never knw whts the final product is gonna be 😁 but trust me it taste great... We went to the Kilpauk branch the seating wr compact ... The only con which i felt was the place was a bit congested however one cannot miss going to a place where there is science and food...😁😁😁

The self chosen ingredients and the way food is cooked TThe sause tastes awesome too

This was the first time.i have visited this place, and it was quite unplanned, it's a small joint kind of a place with three tables and a couple of chairs, it was a okay looking place... Now coming to the order, we ordered wheat noodles with paneer and some good veggies and spicy peanut sauce, it was really good trust me, then we had rice with tofu again with our chosen veggies and with mallaka sauce, mallaka sauce is quite spicy, so if u are a spicy food lover then surely u can go for it, the rice also tasted really good. For starters we had classic veg dumplings and I didn't really like it, it was not so good, then we had chilli paneer bao which was good, wouldn't say much about it... Service was quick so no complaints

Ambience: 3 🌟
Food: 3.5 🌟
Service: 4 🌟
Over all: 3.5 🌟
I've had very good respect for this place and I've visited the place many times , ordered online several times as well.

however their basil rice comes with a gravey , so at the restaurant they serve the gravey and the rice together and since the lead time is zero the food tastes good.

however when I ordered basil rice online , it takes about 30 minutes for the food to reach and the packed both gravey and the rice in the same bowl. the food was soggy and not edible to consume it.

when I called them to complain about the same or asked them to change the packing next time , they were like we can't do anything and that's how we'll pack , go ask the delivery partner.

Also, this is one of those restaurants where they charge prices significantly higher when you order it online than actually eating there.
price difference is around 100 per dish.
S
The quantity should be more for the money they charge . Ordered from here through home delivery and quantity of the noodles was very less
Sangee
I ordered for JAIN momos and JAIN noodles but both the things i received was filled with onion and garlic. Whats the use of filling in the paper to construct your work when they cant make it.

Dirty, table was not cleaned. Very poor service. Second time I am noticing this within a month.

It’s the best place to treat your taste buds , Asian lovers this place should not be missed .! It has different woks , rice , Beverages and more.

The place is small and not ideal for large groups. The most disappointing and uncomfortable thing were it's seating arrangement - the sofa was too high compared to the table and had to crouch the whole time to eat.
The food was really nice though. The variety of noodles with all the options and generous amount of veggies.
Ruchi Baghmar
Been to this place many times. Surely one of the favourite places, every dish on the menu is so amazing. The iced tea, the starters, the wok, everything is perfect. The service is super quick.
Samyuktha
A huge variety of noodles, sauces, vegetables etc. to choose from, and I love that you can customise your noodle bowl! Portion sizes are adequate, and not too expensive either ☺️ they also have a variety of brownies which are quite nice

This place specialises in customising the woks i.e you can choose from the type or noodle to rice or even go for a salad. You can choose the type of protein and the sauces and garnishes and these are freshly prepared. Also, in addition they have dimsums, starters, Goli sodas and brownies. They are exclusively for vegetarians.
Coming to the tatse of food everything tasted good but was the quantity worth for the money paid is what will make you think twice. And also the hospitality is less as they don't educate you on how to you can customise your own woks.
Veg dimsums: went really well with the dips.
Customise your own wok: Flat noodles + paneer + spring onion + bok choy + fragrant chilli oil + roasted seasame seeds + burnt garlic: if you are person who is looking for something different then this choice is totally my recommendation.
Crispy chilli Potato:These Potatoes were crispy and the had a sour and a spicy tatse. It just had the right amount of sauce, which doesn't make the potatoes soggy💯
Overall a decent healthy option for a person who loves Asian cuisine The Noodle Theory

A fun place to hangout. Small place, cool service, amazing ambience (almost open kitchen), good food, AMAZING BROWNIES. Cute guy in the counter as well.

I had placed an order from noodle theory kilpauk through swiggy. My order was delivered wrong. When I placed a complaint to The noodle theory, Mr. Adi assured my at 8:15pm that they will replace it by the right order within 15 minutes.
I waited for an hour and there was no relplacement from noodle theory. When I called again, Ms. Preethi started screaming at me and was extremely rude to me. My interaction and experience with these people was very disappointing and frustrating. I will certainly never order from here again and I would ask you to think twice before you do too
Apurva Peri
Noodle theory makes for a classic Asian takeout joint. Ordered in from here on multiple occasions and it didn't disappoint. The custom woks are an experience by themselves, ingeniously designed to get in touch with your innovative self. Their portions are suitable for a single person - something to consider when ordering for larger parties.
It's perfect for lazy weeknight dinners on the couch. A must try!

Must try this outlet
Beacause you only choose the ingredients to make your wholesome noodles
Specialised drink available here so called goli soda
The best drink for chennaities
"Bad experience" the phrase I have to describe this place. Order JAIN food, to my surprise they added loads of garlic. First time in my life I had garlicy jain food...thumbs up to them for being innovative and thumbs down for being ignorant. Awsome innovative food at less price, only 370 rs for one bowl of noodles...too less.

This place was awesome I love to eat here food was so good and the preparation noodles was so good the spicy sauces are awesome my favourite was sukiyaki sauce
Bharat Rohra
Amazing choice of Wok options at reasonable prices! Loved the momos (dumplings) as well.. be careful of the spice level while ordering though as it can get really spicy 🌶 . Ambience is relaxing. Loved the place 😉

One of my favorite Asian joints in Chennai!
We've tried the Crunchy Lotus Stem starter so many times and everytime we have it, we only fall more in love with it! We've also tried the Veg Baozi Bun- could've been a bit spicier to cater to Indian tastebuds, and Miso Tofu and Water Chestnut Dumplings- which was delicious.

You can also make your own noodle bowl to suit your tastebuds! Love this restaurant! Chennai Makkale, if you haven't been to this place already, drop whatever you're doing and head to this immediately!

Great place to order food from. Awesome packaging and the portion size is just perfect. In the menu I prefer the appetizers to the main course which you get to customize. In the restaurant the ambience is also very good.Would be a good place to grab a quick bite or hang out with friends.
You are given a piece of paper to select the ingredients for the Wok Noodles.

A confined place, yet a refreshing ambience.

A confined place , yet a refreshing ambience. Thumbs up for the Noodles, Pineapple Soda, Dimsum, Brownie. All tasted good. Must visit for the one of its kind experience.

I Find this place an okay one. I would like if there is some improvisation in the food like to have more items and spacious is also okay. Hope for the best.
Sanjay Jindal
A nice chilled out place for you to hang out with your close ones.. good variety and great taste.. however I think they are a little stingy with the veggies that they add to the orders.. it would be great if they wouldn't add just 3-4 pieces of every vegetable in the order...

Over all, a place definitely worth visiting once!!
Ronak Bokdia
Ordered a Pick up online
Ended up waiting for it be ready
So was going through their menu at the Venue.
Their prices for online order are different when compared to prices here. When questioned they said Zomato changes prices for their commission.

Ordered a Bao Bun - Cucumber & Broccoli
And it had no Cucumber or Broccoli when asked he said sorry we’re out of veggies. We can replace your order with something else instead after serving it.

Do not appreciate the unethical practice in pricing and delivering food as well ! Highly disappointed.
Mohammed Izzy
The food is great. They have their own way of presentation which in a way differentiates them from other places serving similar food. The concept of constructing your own wok is nice. Though I feel the pricing is a bit high overall.
Sweta Damani
Must try the lotus stem. It's delish (according to my daughter) . My daughter enjoyed the place and had gone to give her friends my birthday treat... The place didn't fail her and had everything she wanted.. Definitely recommended.

Bored of those same ingredients in your noodles?
Now mix up your favorite ingredients with the type of noodles you want ♥️
Construct your own wok for 199!!
Bestest place to hangout with friends!! Pure vegetarian restaurant!!

One of the best place to hang out with your friends.

The restaurant is pretty small but the ambience looks decent and fun.
Car parking might be an problem.
The place looks very hygienic and the staffs are pretty friendly.

I love the concept of degradable and disposable plates being an anti-plastic person.
The noodle and the sauce options are pretty interesting for an first time visitor, of course it is worth experimenting.

Overall an good experience with noodle theory 😊
I like the concept of noodle theory. I love the drinks they serve. Its worth the money you pay for the food. Can add a lil more options. Nice ambience, friendly staff. Self service. Indian cuisine not available. A good place to hangout with friends and family.
Deepak Prabhu
It’s a nice place for Chinese and Thai food. It’s a small place with compact interiors. Lotus stem is a must try. For the spicy lovers - try your Wok in Malaka sauce. Love the food
Anjana Sharma
Quantity is good, food is nice ambience is great, I literally ordered some of dishes twice. Haha. It was just dimsum which was not great otherwise it was perfect.
Ishani Vora
Looking for budget and tasty food - just hop in here .
Best thing about the place is you can customise as per your taste .

Noodles and lotus is my fav and desserts are fresh and delicious.

Loved the experience at Noodle Theory! Relatively a small place, but good enough to accommodate people on weekdays. I'm not sure as to how the crowd is on weekends.
They have an amazing concept of constructing our own wok. You can pick from a variety of veggies, noodles, protein, toppings and sauces. The sauces are available on a scale of least to most spicy, so that you can alter your wok according to your taste. You also have starters and baos amongst other dishes.
Their drinks are named after scientists, I tasted Einstein, you also have CV Raman , Tesla, etc. It's interesting that they have Goli Sodas too!
They also have amazing browines based on chocolates such as kitkat , ferrero, etc.
Ambience - 4/5
Food-5/5
Price- 4/5
Nandita
It’s the most coziest time of the year, cravings goes to noodles! The noodle theory is kiosk serving finger licking pan Asian delicacies! Highlight is that you can customise accordingly to our preferences and it caters to vegetarians!!

A small little place where around 10-12 can be seated, with a good amount of dishes to try out

Ordered a make your own wok with flat noodles (must try) and the schezwan sauce(highly recommended), lotus stem bao (sweet bao bun with spicy lotus stem and carrot filling) which was quite yum, crispy fried lotus stem which was the best , and brownie which was dry(big no for desserts)

Ordered a few drinks (Einstein and madam Curie )with was pretty decent.

Overall a pretty decent place with price slightly on a higher side..
Varshini Prakash
We had Dimsums, Chilli Panner Bao, Berry iced tea and we made our own Wok. The taste was great, we chose Hibachi sauce for the Wok, mildly spicy. My big complaint would be the quantity of the dishes. Dimsums were miniaturized, Baos were tiny than the usual portion size as well. Coming to the ambience, it's situated in an extremely small room. There is a table right next to yours with no space to freely stand or get up.

Overall,
Food 4/5
Quantity 2/5
Ambience 2/5
Got very little cash In hand, but desperate for some really good food? The noodle theory Exists!!!!
Absolute budget saver. Cannot describe in words how amazing the food is here.
...
The concept of having to tick your choice from the menu is simple and super convenient. Absolutely love the staff and the ambience as well.
...
Things to try are:
•Make your wok. DUH
•Classic veg dumplings.
•Schezwan Veg Dumplings.
•Chilli Paneer Bao.
•Kitkat Brownie.
•Ferrero Rocher brownie.
•Cookie Dough Brownie ❤️
One of the best noodles I have had in a really long time.
The entire concept of having been able to get a customised noodles just blew my mind. The ambience and location are great, it's really crowded in the evenings on weekends and hence might take a while for your order to come through
Gauri Sood
The idea of building your own wok by choosing your preferred noodles, choice of vegetables , protein, sauce and toppings was what attracted me to this small, compact eatery that has a seating capacity of 10-12 people.

Our order:

1. Chilli potatoes
French fries tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce topped with bell peppers and spring onions. It tasted good and was not overly spicy. Was just the right blend of sweet and spicy.

2. Chilli paneer bao
2 baos stuffed with paneer cooked in a sauce that tasted more peanut-ty than spicy, it was topped spring onions, crushed peanuts and a whole red chilli (maybe this was to add the spice factor) on each bao. I do not enjoy peanuts on savouries, but my friends who are okay with nuts on their food thought it was good.

3. 2 woks, one with flat noodles cooked in schezwan sauce, the other with fresh noodles cooked in lemon butter garlic sauce.
The noodles were cooked well, the vegetables were crunchy and fresh, the sauces (especially the lemon butter garlic sauce) tasted great. However, I felt the quantity of noodles was not sufficient enough for a person. Also, the quantity of paneer or tofu served in the wok was very less, hardly 3-4 small cubes in each wok, which was disappointing.

4. The beverages (1 berry flavoured iced tea and 1 lemongrass flavoured iced tea)
Both came in really cute bottles that we took away :P, they were full of flavour and refreshing, perfect to have along with the food. They were priced decently.

Ambience:
Small, compact, cozy and tidy.

Pricing:
The prices seemed reasonable in the menu card, but the food and the quantity served makes the food really overpriced. For instance, they served 2 really small sized Baos for around ₹179 which seemed overpriced to me. Also, the quantity of the noodles was very less for the price. The iced teas were decently priced.

Taste:
Almost everything tasted really good and wasn't too spicy to burn the stomach.

Suggestions:
The shape and design of the forks served at the restaurant only make it difficult to lift the noodles, we had a hard time eating the noodles with the forks. The flat noodles were a real struggle to eat using the forks served. I recommend the serve the regular forks.

Also the quantity must be increased for the price charged so that a portion at least fills one person up.

Idiotic guys when u cant pick up calls when called on given land-line number why do you keep a land-line, bad service, ordered JAIN food and received non JAIN food
One of my favourite places to order freshly prepared Oriental food. They deliver within 20mins and the food is so fresh and fragrant, that it appeals your appetite. You may order their malaka sauce, lemon butter garlic, hibachi and sambhal. Considering they have gluten free options, this place tops my list for food delivery option.
In case you want something without the noodle/rice , you may go for their salad bowls.
Must try appetizers - classic veg dumplings and lotus stem.
Ajay
Quite difficult to place it even with the Google maps assistance 😂
It's more of a quick diner, cosy little place that can hold 15 people.

Went ahead with their Crispy lotus stem, mushrooms and cheese dumplings. Drinks were named after scientists, don't know why they made that choice though 😂
So our choice were Edison, and C.V. Raman which were ginger and orange iced tea respectively.

Crispy lotus stem was the winner definitely 💥
It was so yum and elegant as well. The crispness, the smell, the flavour everything was just extraordinary. Loved it to the core ❤️ An absolute 5-er dish 🤗

Dumplings were a wee bit of disappointment. It was so soft and the outside layer was very thin, I'd love dumplings to be thicker a bit. Definitely, mushrooms and cheese don't work out very well, I know this now 😒 mushrooms and cheese were mashed up and stuffed in, kinda ruined the taste for me. Would give it 2.8/5. Oh, and the dip? Delicious.

Teas were excellent as well. Especially Edison's 👌 it was literally one of the best iced teas I've ever had 🤗

Will absolutely visit again 🤷🏼‍♂️

Tasty in delivery is shitty

Concept of making our own wok is really good, I have been to this restaurant twice and personally I would say try once the food over there. Their menu has limited dishes but those are to be tasted, specially lotus stem starter was awesome.
They have started this in very small place but the people who walk into the restaurant is considerably more.

Don't know about the restaurant service but food delivery is pathetic. Even not gave single tissue paper frk or spoon. On the name of sechzwan it was waste of money. I ordered broccoli and spinch with my noodles, didn't find single piece of tofu or broccoli.

Greetings!
Searching for new food places to try out in the town, my finger stopped it's scolling whilst the screen stood at "The Noodles Theory". I wanted to try this 'Noodles ka Subway' concept so me and my friends ended up the doorstep of this restaurant. This was a few weeks back during a weekend. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I mistook it as a party hall with the degree noise I could hear. Never the less, the restaurant was set up well, nicely lit with my table showcasing it's noodle on the top ( uncleaned table). I was warmly greeted by the owner at the counter trying to catch breath with the amount of customers to be handled. It was a full house. The menu had wide amount of toppings and sauces to choose from which was exciting. Little did I know that my choices became limited as some of the ingredients got over. So I recommend you guys to go take a seat early. The fresh noodles was very flavoursome. Apart from this, the crispy chilli potatoes which were french fries with a chill sauce on top had a bunch of flavour to it which tempted us on ordering another plate. Having said that, on the flip side, the paneer starter was very hard to eat. The paneer wasn't soft and the sauce on top was not appetising. Also, the wheat noodles didn't have the ingredients which I wanted it to have. The concept's good but I hope the service and the quality of food improves. Also, the quantity per portion served is very less as compared to the other restaurants of this price range. Would I go there again? Yes. Would I go there again with no fear of having all the ingredients being available? No.
Shanmu
The idea of making your own type noodles with the vegetables that u need is the best..!
The Place is small but clean and well maintained.
This place won't disappoint you with price or with food..😍
Jihad Abdul Jaleel
The concept is really good. A small outlet where you get to make your own Wok Noodles and add your favourite veggies & sauce. Wait, did I mention it's veg only? Yeah, despite that it still managed to keep a non-vegetarian like me happy. So the restaurant gotta be good right?

Let's see. The taste is alluring & makes you want more but the quantity is not really high but not less either, but you'll definitely crave for more of the same stuff at the end of your last mouth. But the Orange Ice Tea aka Newton failed to impress me. It's not bad but not my choice. You'll be better with the lemonade based scientist drinks. The KitKat brownie is a big yes though. Ask them to warm it and it becomes delicious all of a sudden.

The service? Well I'm not exactly happy about it. My Noodles didn't match with what I ordered. Out of the 5 available veggies I chose, only 3 matched mine. If they are going to change the ingredients, I'd expect them to atleast mention about it. Also, despite opting for dessert, the guy didn't bill it. Maybe the staff needs to be a lil more attentive.

Food - 4/5
Service - 2.5/5
Ambience - 3.5/5
VFM - 3/5

My honest opinion...there is a variety of foods to try from.it was good. It's a bit costly considering the quantity...and there was discrepancy in the bill , even on having the offer.so check your bill before you pay.

I think this place should be renamed as oil theory cause they’re very generous with the amount of oil they use in their food. Very disappointed, hope they make the needful improvements cause their food tastes good!

The food is really good! And the prices are also pretty decent. They have different woks and the drinks are the best. The orange Ice tea and stuff. It is a pure vegetarian place and a cute cafe.

Everything I order was fine except the veggies rice wrap. It had no taste. A big no no for that.
The concept is something different and nice. Decent place.
We had ordered for a home delivery for a jain lotus stem from noodle theory kilpauk. Instead of jain they had delivered the regular lotus stem and this mistake has been repeated for 2nd time. When we spoke to the owner they were not ready to accept their mistake and were rude to the customer. They did not respect the customer and did not want to take any advice from the customer. I dont suggest anyone should order from this place looking in for jain food.

Best place for ppl who love to eat noodles where they can construct their bowl of noodles . First we ordered one noodles , we really loved it so made one more !!! We even ordered momos and fries both were good . Pocket friendly ,must visit if ur a noodles lover or if u r in kilpauk . We went on Saturday the place is small and was crowded.
So to start off I ordered a *TOFU IN PEPPER OVERDOSE*, you can choose between paneer and tofu, I preferred tofu over paneer. As the name describes it, it had the right peppery spice in the dish. If you love spicy food then it's the right choice 😍

Secondly, to neutralize the hotness I preferred to go for a dim sum and my choice was fixed to the schezwan veg momo. I find them a little expensive for the quantity yet a fair choice

The next one being the wok, so now this is my fav part. I can customize my wok according to my mood swings 😂 while jokes apart. The choices of veggies are rare and any choice of sauce blends well with the wok. The end product happened to be very delicious. The quantity was fulfilling enough

😮

P.S. A special mention to the names of the drinks

The speciality of this restaurant is that, they care about every ingredient to be of your choice. That’s a really nice and unique idea! Since you get to choose everything you like which makes it perfect for you! Cause who knows you better than yourself. It’s one of my all time cravings, the taste is just perfect. But personally I feel it’s a little costly since it’s only veg, and 180₹ for a veg dish is costly.
The place is very hygienic but, too small. Love how they present it, no use of plastic in their plates no glasses either. I don’t really enjoy the drinks here, but they’ve got unique names! You should modify the drinks a bit. The starters are good, the veg roll was fried to perfection. Overall amazing place to go to, unique, hygienic and damn tasty.

Endless possibilities in the sense that you can customise everything to your liking. If you have a good appetite, the ₹350/ offer on Kaching is really good. The crunchy lotus stem is amazing, give it a try. Advisable to call and inform the restuarant if you're in a group bigger than 3 or 4 because they have a restricted seating area which can only accommodate around 12-15 people at once.

Noodle Theory 🍜
Where you can make your own noodle..😍
they have different types of noodles, sauces, and toppings...🥣🍣
You can get traditional noodles there... 👍🏼
Though they have only limited menu.. it will average for South Indian ppl.. 👈🏼
where the sauces are too spicy... Average taste.. 😊
not too good...#budgetone #nice ambience 👌🏼

I constructed a wok of fresh noodles, schezwan sauce, veggies: water chestnut, onions, corn, yellow and green zucchini, carrots; Tofu for protein, sesame seeds and basil as seasoning. This was a fabulous lunch. I could taste all the ingredients put into the dish and they were wonderful on the palate collectively. Sometimes restaurants pour so much sauce you can't taste the individual elements and that makes for a disappointing meal. Thank goodness it wasn't that experience here. I felt it was a little expensive but they provide very generous portions. Self service is followed here and the plates are disposable, something nice but spoons were plastic anyway. If possible, I'll return to have their brownies, dimsums and sodas as well. I wish they provided more protein on the meal. Located on landons road alongside other popular eateries, this is a very good place for Chinese food!

Noodle Theory is like the Subway of Asian food, you get to customise, pick and choose every ingredient in your order and that's the USP of the restaurant, you can customise all the order as per your taste palette and for those who'd like to see how your food is being prepared, you can do that too as the cooking section is just separated by a glass wall.

While the food that I ordered tasted good, with great flavors and texture, I believe the quantity is less for the price.

The quantity of the starters like momos for example are laughable, the portions are tiny and it's exorbitantly priced.

Yes......this place is little different apart from other restaurants and they ask us to customise the noodle where they will u give some paper work in which u should choose what ingredients to be added. And it took nearly 10 mins to get those and it was extremely fantastic and some singrediemts are mixed with other noodle other than that everything was good.

Ordered on Zomato - Wok - wheat noodles with black bean sauce and Miso, Tofu and Water Chestnut Dimsum.

Tastewise, they were both great. Ingredients are of a high quality, unlike what's generally available in the Asian-food scene here in Chennai. I like being able to choose from so many varieties of noodles and rice. Veggies on offer are premium. Nice variety of sauces.
The noodles was kinda spicy for me, and had a little more garlic than I would have liked. Perhaps, next time, I'll ask for their Jain version.
The Dimsum came with some delicious accompaniments.
My only request is that they increase the quantity by a fourth for the wok. For Rs. 229, I should be able to eat my fill, if not be able to share.

Everything came nicely packaged in a brown paper bag. Please consider using biodegradable packing materials instead of the plastic containers. Putting hot food in plastic containers is not healthy.

We went to the noodle theory for dinner. The place is a small one but it's looking good. We have ordered crunchy lotus stem as starter, and wok regular fragrant chili oil udon noodle along with spinach & mushroom bao bun. The starter was good, and noodles were okay type. But the problem was with bao bun. The bun was looking & tasting bad. The toppings we're also not proper. They should take this into consideration. I don't know about the other buns in this category but this spinach & mushroom is not definitely good.

the fried lotus stem was amazing!!!! The wok was a bit spicy though.. yet it made my night :)

I ordered construct your wok. The dish was extremely spicy. It was not in a consumable state. Very much disappointed. Had to throw most of it.

I visited this outlet back in April but realized today after I ordered online that I hadn't written a review of the place. The best thing I like about the for here is customizing your own Wok. Go in for the schezwan sauce flat noodles. The toppings I will leave it to your choice. Second, the black pepper sauce as well goes well with the flat noodles.

Today, when he had the food delivered, I felt the portions were less comparative to the one we had while we dined in.

Overall, if you want to have some good veg Asian food at a reasonable price, this is the place to be.

My go to place for noodles. In love with them ever since the food delivered to me was good..

Tip: never order from them when its almost closing time

Take away order. Ordered crispy lotus stem, Ferraro brownie, choco chunk brownie .

Lotus stem was made like manchurian dry dish and tasted awesome. Not many places serve lotus stem. Some slices were stuck together like a chunk, hence the flour was raw inside a few slices, other than that , yummy!

Brownies, moist and soft, loved every bite of it.

Packaging : Neat, spill proof box in a paper bag.

Total : Rs.400

The food was totally yum. 😋😋

Quality wise there is no compromise but the quantity for the amount paid leaves much to be desired.
The drinks that they serve here have names of scientists and pocket friendly.
The starters are really yummy and they alone warrant a visit to this place.
Ambience : They have made the best out of the available space.

Self service
Parking facility available.
Drop in if you happen to travel via Kilpauk.

Food : 2/5
Service : 1/5
Ambience : 2/5

There's nothing great here to tell must try.
Brownies here are pretty good taste felt to the tooth, but all the brownies taste the same with just the little toppings on top differ with taste.

Well, the service and ambience which is pathetic and especially over the weekend it has been such a mess over there, they dont even serve water to your respective tables, there are no waiters to even clear the waste plates off your table.

The Noodles have to be chosen at your best knowing all the taste of the choices, one bad option you choose in your dish, Your are going to screw your own dish.

Please do avoid having or even the thought to try tasting momos there, they barely consumable with respect to taste.

One Small suggestion, please don't go over the weekend if at all your are going there, you will have to wait , just wait and wait for your chance to eat, don't have any idea of going in big groups as this restaurant is highly inexperienced to prepare food for a group of people

Important: Do check your dish before having them if the dish is of your choice as you chose in the menu paper.
