Review Rang Mahal - Chennai (Madras)

We were out for some work and were starving. Then we found this restaurant. The ambience was good. We quickly went through the Menu. We ordered Veg Manchurian, Tawa Pulav and Masala Papad. Veg Manchurian was very good in taste and Tawa Pulav was hot, spicy and delicious. Masala Papad was just ok, could be better. Overall, it is a good place to visit when you're around it.

Pretty decent north Indian restaurant. The food is fresh and tasty. The restaurant is usually not crowded. The staffs in the restaurant speak Hindi and English. There is no parking structure outside the restaurant. There is no wheel chair entrance. The ambience is casual and would a good choice to be with family, kids and friends.

Courteous staff, delicious food, good ambience, food quantity was appreciated.. Time well spent!

God food. Good ambience. Had an argument with hotel staff for carrying and using a thumbs up in the hotel. Don't know why they are so expensively priced. Billed a large order but they argued about a 35 bucks bottle.

Food : ordered chinese combo and the gobi manchurian balls were over fried almost burnt to black. And the taste of the remaining dishesh were average.<br/>Service : pathetic . Never gonna come back again.<br/>over price as compared to the quality and quantity.<br/>Hopeless retraunt no proper parking space . Had to park on the side of rhe road.<br/>

The worst experience ever<br/>1. SERVICE - we were three of us and one of my friend was not intrested in having veg so we thought of ordering two veg thali . So the person came for taking the order and we said we need two limited thali and there came the EPIC REPLY with a rude face you can't share food with anyone. Like seriously that was not even unlimited thali which can't be shared.<br/>After such a pathetic reply from the end we ordered three thali though my friend wasnot interested in eating .<br/><br/>2. FOOD - ordered veg thali combo 225rs , Chinese thali combo 225 rs and one limited south Indian veg thali 90rs.<br/>.Now talking about the veg thali combo they gave 2 butter naan , two types paneer gravy , paneer raita and paneer fried rice which were very less in quantities.<br/><br/>3. Price - As compared to the quantity and taste it was really worst and the price was high.<br/><br/>MORAL - I understand every restraunt can't share really yummy food but at least they can give good service.<br/>#rangmahal<br/><br/>

Average food.. worst customer service.. dry fruit falooda was 200 bucks and it served only jelly and a spoon of dry fruit powder.. waiters were not courteous in getting food delivered.. Bill was handed over earlier than the desserts.. don't come to such place..

Ordered Take out from swiggy as in zomato they do not deliver to my area, we ordered veg fried rice, makki roti , diwani handi curry and sev tamatar it was average .

Got food home delivered from here. Order: tea. Served cold unlike lot of other places which deliver hot tea. Not worth the money. 😒😒 Very poor service. 😒 Taste is bad as well. 😑 Could be improved.

Rang mahal: One of the long standing north indian restaurant in busy purasaiwalkam. This place is in the top floor and they do have party hall facilities for small gathering. I have visited this place almost 6-7 years back, so thought of getting food delivered to check how it is tasting. And believe it didnt disappoint<br/><br/>This review is based on the delivery. Food was packed really well and there was no spilage. We got a thali, roti and paneer butter masala delivered. Paneer portion was huge that it was sufficient for 3 people. Thali too had good portion. Breads and sides were tasting really good. The drawback was the rice items, both jeera rice (in thali) and veg pulav was bland. Rice was not at all seasoned with salt. And there was no accompaniment of raitha for biryani. If this is corrected, I am going there again.<br/><br/>Value for money : Cheap - moderate. 250 per person

Had north indian thali... very poor test

Ordered online via zomato Masala dosa and Plain idly. Delivery was fast. Both the dishes were good and fresh. Quantity and quality both were good. Keep it up.

If you're inti pure vegetarian Marwari food, this is the place to go. They have a fixed menu. Everything from the soup, to the starters , to the main course , to the dessert is extremely amazing.

Palace of colors! <br/><br/>This was earlier Novelty tea house on the 5th floor but they closed that down and started Rang Mahal on the ground floor. The pav bhaji was something to die for. They have still maintained that taste but somehow I miss the ambience of Novelty. You guys served some quality food man, the service was amazing wit some yummy taste!! The usual veg stuff wit the same old stuff but felt different in terms of taste!! Start your appetizers with Gobi Manchurian and don't forget the khichiya papad. Dal makhani , paneer pot and orange peel ice cream are to die for. Loved the food.

I din really like the ambience. I think it's outdated in comparison to other restaurants. Waiters have no idea about the availability of food items. Quality of the food is okayish and average. Food was served in less time though. Don't order buttermilk here ,lol !

Wasted 45 min without having food.<br/>Sunday morning after having an all body workout felt real bad hunger and since it was near to my gym, I and my buddy thought of visiting this place. Parking the vehicle is a task. The security person asks you to park the vehicle on footpath I don't know if that belongs to RM or the corporation of chennai. If it belongs to latter what bribe is been paid for parking the vehicles, god knows. Went in and it was chaotic people running here and there waiters not in uniform, I was confused who's waiter and who's not. I didn't wanted to offend anyone. All the tables were occupied by a group of people being treated by someone and all were Marwadi as they were talking loudly and laughing like yamraj. I asked the person seated on the billing table about seating asked him trice and he didn't even bothered to look at me. I got annoyed and after wasting time and feeling even more hungry I came out with my friend, he was really annoyed and then we went to A2b for brkfst. However big a man you are you should respect and care for your customers never know when they stop dropping at your place.

The worst restaurant experience I've had so far. They care a damn about their guests. Their service is so pathetic that you'll learn some good lesson on how not to treat your customers. Their food is as 'good' as their service. If you love getting irritated in a restaurant due to some bad service and food then this is the place for you. If you hate food and want to hate food more then this is the place for you. <br/>BTW, for what joy is it so expensive? <br/>Not going there even if the food is free of cost.

It's an awesome place for family dining. Yes they delay in serving at time of peak hours but u get the best quality and fresh cooked by having patience. I have been there for Breakfast Lunch and dinner too. Combo breakfast south Indian they give @ 65 it is a good value for money

I have been here 4 times in the last 2 weeks..each time tried different dishes and everything is very good..the starters, rotis, sabjis, rice dishes, dal makhni etc. Special mention for the dessert.. Mango ice cream comes in a real mango skin and it's yum. Also had another ice cream called Sania special (not given in the Menu) which had vanilla, chocolate syrup n dry fruits n corn flakes. Total value for money.
