A restaurant serving quality food during the dead hours of the night. They serve Chinese and Indian food. Do try their wide range of juices and shakes and their desserts. Their caramel pudding is worth trying.
Being Nightmare PD

It’s small , simple and taste is really good !

Overall worth the money 💰!

When we went there, ACs and fans were not fully functional and they said they were running on genset as they were having a power outage. The outer area near reception and non-ac hall was stinking a bit, due to blocked drains, but the AC dining area was good and the staff were courteous enough to provide finger bowls and did every possible stuff to prevent us from going out of the AC hall, till we were done with our meal fully.
Food was really good, we mostly tried chicken starters and they were all worth the price. Biriyani didn't taste that good as it lacked flavour and spices, but still ok.
Service as such the staff were very attentive and professional.

I like this hotel biryani..and hospitality of the waiters..and Gate keeper service Excellent.
Bharath Kumar
Good food. Have been going there for more than a decade. Still serves good food. Don't disappoint.
Susi Kumar
Nice meals and gravies. Nice biryani.
Many dishes are low spicy like Kerala based food. But good taste.

The food was good, we had chicken biriyani and chicken drumsticks. The biriyani was okay and the drumsticks were good. And for dessert we ordered caramel pudding, nothing to say about it. The ambiance was okay. The hand wash place was a little dirty. Overall an okay experience.

I ve been going to this place for decades it has been the same for all these years and that is the best quality for a restaurant. Their signature dishes are Amin falooda and paaya and biryani ❤️ . Please do give these a try cause these are just amazing here. The ambience is good here. The staffs are very nice and courteous. The parking is right next to it for car or bike. The price is affordable. The quality and quantity of the food is just right! Shawarma was so good here 😍 . My family has been going here for generations for a reason because of their food🥰 . A great place to spend time with friends or family. A must try place .

A best Kerala Style restaurant in the neighbourhood. Try their Parotta and Egg Curry. Their Parotta is the signature dish. Pocket friendly. They have a variety of deserts. Don't miss them.

Cafe Amin is one of my absolute favorite in chennai like most ppl who hail from this locality.. This has been a part of my life since my teens and i cant stop loving them enough.. In early 2010s they did loose their way a bit but now they seem to be back on track..
Located in royapettah near the police station this place is a literal land mark in this locality..
The parking is roadside for bikes and for cars they have rented a nearby place..so no issues there..
Though i have many experience here let me talk abt my last experience alone..
Ordered a Mutton Biryani, Chettinad Chicken Biryani, Chicken Fried Rice, Madras Kothu Parotta and Couple of Parottas..
Tandoori Chicken : Not their strong point of late as it lacks consistency.. The last try it was quite spicy and mint chutney too was watery.. Overall quite average..
Meals : First time we tried it and was quite good IMO.. The Gravies were quite tasty and the sides too.. The variety was a regular spread..
Mutton Biryani : The best they can offer and this has been a regular order here.. And this has a place on my list of must try biryanis in chennai..Succulent meat in a aromatic and flavorful birynai and absolutely killer in taste.. But the quantity seems less than before..
Madras Kothu Parotta : Another one of their specials.. Must try for sure.. Pair it with their chicken gravy and it is one of a killer combination...
Veg Fried Rice : Loaded with Veggies and the quantity is also good.. The Taste is quite unique as it is more peppery.. Definitely indiaized to the core..
Pricing is at par with most restaurant in this class and locality and also with great food.. This place is a definite must try..
Aadil Suhail
A Brand that holds immense amount of reputation for thier drooling food, yeah the best in Royapettah although they do need to maintain thier food quality all the time..
LOki S
Really they were serving quality food with nominal price.. Try pepper bbq really juicy and spicy.
Sowndarya
The best paneer butter masala I have ever tasted! More quantity and best quality. I would literally suggest cafe Amin for paneer butter masala., they make it best even more by prices on combos !

Cafe Amin is one of the oldest and best restaurant in and around Royapettah.
I love the idiyappam and mutton kurma here, it's one of the best I've tried until now. The kurma and the meat in it is delicious, coated with the right blend of masalas. The taste of spice is not too overpowering and the kurma has the right texture.
Idiyappam and parotta both go well with the delectable kurma. Truly a wonderful experience.
The staff here are polite and the Ambience is fine too.
I end up going to this place at least once when I'm in Chennai, if you're looking for some delicious, satisfying worthy meal then this is definitely an option :)
Food - 5/5
Quantity - 4.5/5
Quality - 5/5
Ambience - 4/5
Staff service - 4.5/5
Hygiene - 4/5
Ps: I loved the hanging ceiling pendant lights.

To be honest it’s a very good restaurant where you can get good Indian and Chinese food. The owners are muslims so you’ll definitely get greattttt non veg, bheja fry is my favourite! Chicken lollipop, chicken fried rice, mughlai biriyani everything was amazing! The American chopseuy was sweet, it had pineapple soo dint like it! And not to forget their coconut pudding, it’s my most favourite dessert. It’s a must try there. Medium Budget friendly.

its a nice atmosphere with all types and variety of food avalilable. food preparation is hygiene and quantity , quality is good. visit this place you will have a noce time
Prakher
It may have something to do with our timing (reached there at 4pm for lunch) but it was a completely forgettable experience.
All the dishes we ordered were low in quantity and had just 2 pieces along with biryani. The wheat parathas ordered for second round were just impossible to eat. Overall taste of dishes was also nothing to boast of. I had much higher expectations but won't be recommending a visit to anyone n nor would like try again.

Amin cafe has always been the place where you go to eat late at night or when you are craving hot pepper paya. Their shawarmas are as close it gets to the real one. Ambiance is okayish, but the food is great
Syed Aneesur Rahman
Delivery was on time... Quality and quantity was not like how we experience it in dine in. Since there was some offers included I believe there is some compromise being done in both quality and quantity of the food
Yogeish Waran
We ordered wheat parotta and we really got some thick plate like things ,never expected this from cafe amin,as i was a regular customer i ordered it ,this experience made me not to try anymore, management pls look into this and get this fixed

One of the oldest and tastiest spot in Chennai.
All sorts of finger licking good food available. A good place for dining but the hotel can be renovated and install bigger spaces for seating.
Keshav Ram
Best place to have dinner with your friends. I have been going here from my childhood. They maintain the same hygeine and taste in the food. Must try: Plate shawarma, Tangri kebab, Chicken tikka, Fish fingers.

I ask for extra cutlery but they didn't provide the service was so bad
We, as a team went here for a dine in. We ordered pepper Tandoori chicken for the starters. It was good.
Chettinad mutton Briyani and chicken Briyani was good. Prawn Briyani was average. Need to improve the taste.

I selected mushroom fried rice, masala kulcha and paneer butter masala for the veggie option. Paneer butter masala was damn good. Kulcha can be more better. Mushroom fried rice taste is nice, but I had easily counted the small slices of mushroom. It was more like a veg fried rice.

Finally Amin's falooda 130Rs. Normal typical falooda.

Good Ambience. Can accommodate more than 50 members.
Ambience: 3/5
Food: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Sudhakar Venkatapathy
My friend has taken me to this place. We ordered mutton briyani and chicken fry. Chicken fry is awesome. Briyani is okayish. To end we ordered tea. TEA is superb in taste. Heard it is famous for payya parotta .next time i will Have payya parrotta. People who want great briyani can avoid this place.
Keerthi
I ordered chicken briyani the cost was 175rs.
But taste was totally waste and smell came rice was sticky all over waste. I had a bad experience.worst restaurant.

Got what i expected . I was looking for a place which has a decent ambience , price not on the higher side and must have all cuisines in the menu

Cafe amin ticked all the box. Especially it had all the cuisines from Arabian, chinese, chettinad with all being consistent in taste

Desserts were great with both falooda and caramel custard was as expected and met the expectations with them being their signature dishes
Shaik Dileep

One of the oldest cafe’s in Royapettah,
Located right at the heart of the city.. thanks to google maps for leading us to this place on a hungry afternoon..this place has decent ambience and serves good food..so I tried chicken kottu parotta with salna..which was a perfect balance of everything..

Food : 7/10
Ambience : 6/10
Value for money : 6.5/10
Service : 7/10

This was one of the restaurant of my favourite list long time back. Paaya was my favourite at that time. Haven’t tried it recently.
So it was after my college session I was quite hungry to try Cafe Amin in the evening around 5. The ambience of the place was fair enough. And Yes of course I started with the Chicken Biryani as they serve it real quick. It was adequate, unfussy and tasted fine with the flavours and spices. And also tried chicken kotthu parota which was well prepared and palatable.

Located in Royapettah's furniture lane, Cafe Amin is one of the oldest restaurants in the area. Decent ambience suitable for a family dinner, this place has adequate seating facility. I recently tried their Mutton Chilli Parotta which was decently priced for the quantity served. With the right amount of spice, this dish was loaded with bits of mutton. I'm also a huge fan of their Coconut Pudding which is one of their best-sellers. Do try it the next time you're in Royappetah. The Kheema Samosa available in the evenings is the perfect snack to binge on along with your evening chai.
Vamshi
We order 2 pack of panner butter masala but received only one box....and took more than a hour Very bad service...plz Don't make order here 😡😡
Arjun
The quantity was more.. Food was hot and spicy just like how I love it.. I used a promo so it was really cheap! I requested for cutlery but didn't get it so I had to dip my hands in the butter masala and there wasnt even tissues provided.. Who cares, the food was really amazing!
Shahul Hameed

Many years back this place was well known for there taste. But recently almost everything has been changed. We recently went here and ordered parotta with mutton chops mutton biryani and then soup. We also ordered chicken lollipop. Once upon a time I remember dieing for there chicken lollipop. Those days when they make the taste was unbeatable. But now the taste has been changed a lot. Only parotta was good it was crispy and had many layers on it. Mutton garvy wasn't good as we expected it was not well cooked. Mutton biryani and chicken lollipop was too bad. Price is not reasonable for the taste they serve. U guess the owner has changed for this shop. Because it wasn't this worst. It was famous on those days for the taste. Still not sure whats going wrong with this place why it isn't like before.
Abrar
Amin cafe is real good for mughul mutton biryani, taste is palatable, will be more friendly if price rates are considered.... Allah bless you!!!

Ordered Vegetable Pulav and Paneer Tikka masala for lunch. Food was delicious and the quantity is worth the price. Pulav was not at all spicy which served well with the side dish. Paneer was so soft and it was cooked perfectly. This restaurant doesn't only serve non veg food but also veg food at a reasonable price.

The Rose Lassi was basically rose milk. The packing was bad. The time when it got delivered, The rose milk had already leaked inside the plastic cover.
