Review New Andhra Meals Hotel Restaurant - Chennai (Madras)

If you are looking for something authentic without tarnishing the name of proper Andhra food, this is a good place to go. We went pretty late in the day so most of their side options were gone. Would definitely recommend meals over Biryani . Should try their Chicken roast no matter what and Fish fry. There is a small queue especially on weekends but worth the wait. Service is quick and quantity is spot on for the money. I would for sure recommend it to anyone coming to the city. 👍🔥

Good place for Andhra Meals and non-vegetarian side dishes. They bill the Meals as Non-Veg but you really only get Vegetarian curries and veggies as a part of the meal. If you want non-vegetarian sides, it has to be ordered separately. Not very happy with this since price for the Meals feels a little high considering they are only Vegetarian options. Non-vegetarian sides and the Biryani we ordered tasted good, especially the Andhra style side dishes were really great (Spicy too). There really isn't much to talk about w.r.t ambiance. This is just a decent place to eat with your family. They were crazy busy when we visited (Sunday afternoon in T Nagar 🤷🏻‍♀️), so the service was rushed but nothing to complain about. Overall, a good place to eat quality food.

A good place in TNagar, Chennai to have Andhra meals with varied dish options. Dhal powder and gomgura chutney are standouts. The side dishes and gravies are a little spicy too.. Good maintenance for a longtime.. 👍

Ambience - multi stair restaurant with narrowed stair cases which is very dangerous of elderly. Well organised chairs and coolest lighting. Food - We ordered South Indian veg and non veg meals , chicken majestic , crab Lollypops, nethily fry, prawn fry, mutton and chicken biryani. Mutton Biryani came with 3 pieces and chicken biryani came with 2 pieces, taste is good but not so great and quantity is also less. All other appetisers are tasty and delicious. Service - service is very good , whenever you need they will appear before you and get whatever you want.

Conveniently located in Pondy Bazaar area. It's my first time here with my family. The ground floor was fully occupied. Hence, we were directed to the 1st floor where ac was available. However, we had to wait for our turn as the table was all occupied. The menu is inclined more towards andhra style cooking though general north-south Indian and Chinese items are available. That podi with melted ghee was just out of the world. Dishes that we ordered were tasty and of good quality and quantity. Service is quick by friendly crews.

Visited on Friday noon for lunch. Super packed AC restaurant. Ground floor was busy, people waiting near the entrance. Went to first floor, and again packed but less people in queue. Got our place after waiting for 5-7 minutes. Service: 5/5 quick, friendly and great serving, good job 👏🏽. Food: 5/5 loved the nonveg meals, fish fry (vanjaram), Andhra shrimp roast was outstanding 👌🏽, everything was delicious 😋. Chicken curry in the meals was a bit watery and tasteless, other than that all the dishes were delicious 🤤 loved it, ate happily 🥲 extremely satisfied 👍🏽. The best place to try Andhra food. Bit costly on the other side..but the quality and taste of the food speaks rest. Personally I felt the price can be reduced. A veg meal - 235 and an omelet - 75 is on the higher side though the food is good.

They serve high quality veg and non veg meals. Meals are highly recommended. Apart from that they serve all other non veg dishes like mutton, fish, chicken varieties. They've 3 floors of dining. Parking is very difficult since it is located in pondy bazaar.

Meals was good especially that parupu podi .. but costly..250 rs per unlimited meal could have included few more items in the menu atleast...Thali in any other hotels is served in this cost..here its regular meals menu only but cost seems to be high is what I feel...

Good for family or a small 4 member gathering. Nice Andhra meals and biryani. Mutton biriyani tastes good. Vanjiran fish fry was nice. Chicken lollipop is good, most occasion finger fish is good. The paruth podi rice is good. They also serve a deep fry kovaikai or bitter gourd along with chicken/fish/mutton gravy for meals.

Mooku mutta sapiteannu solanum. Meals came with delectable vendakka poriyal and beans / carrot poriyal. There was kootu, appalam and pappu as well. Andhra style thuvial was distinctive. Mutton Chukka n Prawn fry we’re the sides of choice. Heaped quantity was aplenty for one. Packed the balance Podi rice, pappu rice, mutton gravy (on request) rice twice and finally curd rice. Getting down the steep stairs after this meal was a challenge indeed

Excellent non vegetarian meals. Resembles the Andhra meals in Chennai. Fish varities are so good. Only Non vegetarian meals and briyani is available here for lunch. If you are expecting spicy food , can prefer this restaurant. No separate parking space for the restaurant. Common road side parking only.

Unlimited Non veg meals - It had payasam, dhal, sambar, rasam, fish kuzhambu, mutton kuzhambu, chicken kuzhambu, poriyal, appalam and curd. In the table there were avakkai pickle, paruppu podi and gongura chutney. It tasted heavenly. Especially the pickle have no words to describe, that good.<br/><br/>2. Unlimited veg meals - Same as non veg meals except for the non vegetarian stews.<br/><br/>3. Joint chicken - It was the special dish of the day. Chicken was tender and juicy with a tinge of sweetness. It was a leg piece.<br/><br/>4. Onion pakora - Crispy with a nice even golden colour.<br/>.<br/>.<br/>.<br/>.<br/>Bill amount was ₹1200. It is expensive but can be visited if you want to explore andhra cuisine.

Being such a big restaurant. They even don't maintain Google pay r else Paytm. Now it has become much more easier due to e-wallets. My sincere suggestion is to maintain such payments methods. Hope this feedback is considered.

Ordered a take away of babycorn .. n check out the terribly small portion for 180 bucks .. not sure if the pic does justice .. but that's a reaaalll small portion.

Best place to go to if you want to have a meal filled only with green chillies. More like a fake spot under the guise of andhra meals. Everything is mixed with grinded green chilly. Spoilt curd that broke apart/stagnated in the packing itself. Kitchen gave no response when called regarding that either. All in all worst place to have any type of andhra food.

Poor quality of food, overpriced menu, rude and arrogant staffs. The hotel staffs are very disrespectful towards the customers. Pls don't visit this restaurant with your family or friends. Its better to be hungry than to eat at such a filthy place

Visited this place on a sunday afternoon. It was overly crowded, hence we were asked to share the table. This made us a little uncomfortable. About the food, we had One chicken roast biryani and one veg meals. The chicken roast biryani had succulent pieces of chicken chukka layered with biryani and an egg. It definitely tasted good. To finish it off, we had a goli soda which was very refreshing. Overall , a decent experience!

The restaurant never disappointed me! Even now! Had amazing food and rasam tasted heavenly! That’swhere the prob started! I ordered a parcel meal and asked for an extra packet of rasam! Believe me they charged me 62rs for a packet of rasam!while the cost of the meals is 210rs!

If I want to say , to have a good Andra type food with good taste and nominal prices then I would recommend this place . Such a good customer service and the serving is amazing . Peaceful and a pleasent ambience to dine in with your family and friends.

Worst hotel for getting door delivery. Ordered food and have been waiting for more than one and half hours. People don't order for door delivery.

Busy restaurant, good parking space, avg ambience. Taste wise not upto the mark, jst like a common restaurant nothing spl abt it. Staffs are unprofessional, they don't know how to serve food.

Very much disappointed ! It happened at all times I have been here. I was curious to be here for unlimited andhra meals but the first time , the service was surprising to me. Rice was served seamless but nothing else. I was waiting for sambar, papad, vegetables for more than 10 minutes and fed up since i almost finished my meals. <br/><br/>May be its a peak hour, still i gave a second try by a home delivery, ordered veg meals for my uncle who is a vegetarian, but i had to put my face down as there was non veg mixed in the parcel. We could see pieces. Raised a complaint, yet no response.<br/><br/>Third time i was here, at 12 noon, They asked us to wait because the food was getting prepared then. We didn’t had a content feel after a full meals. We were done and papad then came. No use !<br/><br/>Management, if you can, please take care -“

Had such a bad experience. Went couple of weeks before for dinner with family. When asked for hot water, they served water that had the stench of really old oil. And the plates they kept had the worst smell of raw meat. Lost appetite after this and had to leave cancelling all the orders. And nobody seemed to take this an serious issue there. Would never go there.

Just now had Nattu koli biriyani. Worst biriyani I have ever tasted. It tasted like rice with uncooked chicken masala. Never ever will try this restaurant again.

I think the images say for itself....i ordered chicken ghongura...and they served uncooked chicken...its absolutely unsafe to consume from this place...on enquiring about the incident,i also found out that someone known to me once found a milk cover plastic in the food...i really dont know, what the food regulation authorities of india are doing..they probably dont know the hazards of serving uncooked meat..just making people aware of this...kindly avoid going to such restaurants..

An awesome place with a good combination of Tamil style and Andhra style food. Lots of things to choose from the menu.<br/>Been a personal favourite of mine for a long while. Really Pathetic Food ! <br/>Had a Veg Thali today. Rice was very small, dry & Lumpy, Pappu(Dhal) was tasteless & pulussu was too sour. Other vegetables were either cold or bland. Was also served one dry chapatti. <br/><br/>Local Andhra mess' serve much tastier & fresh food at one third the price. Complained Manager 'Praksh' for this and he shamelessly accepted that 'Rice' is not of good quality and gave a sarcastic Thanks'.<br/><br/>Would never go again.

Ambience is very poor and food available here are average type which we can get in all chettinad hotels.A bit pricey for its poor ambience as we experienced mosquito bites and poor service.Somewhat a worst experience...

A good ambience except had to wait for awhile as the tables were filled. The Hydrebadi Biryani was so spicy I started crying 😂 the taste was good. Price worth taste. Plan forehand before you head there. But other than that it was a good experience.

Visited this place on a Friday for Lunch with my office colleagues for team lunch. The ambience was good, calm and peaceful. The place was less crowded and they had wide range of veg and non veg dishes. We ordered prawn biryani, country chicken biryani chicken 65, chilly fish, paneer tikka, babycorn manchurian, veg scheswan Friedrice, mutter paneer, malai kofta, butter naan, stuffed kulcha, mushroom soup, sweet corn chicken soup and their mocktails nanari mojito, virgin mojito, watermelon mojito, and strawberry mojito. The quality and quantity of food was excellent and customer service was top notch! The bill came around 4000. It was worth for the money!
