Review Zaitoon - Chennai (Madras)

Recently I had lunch in Zaitoon. It was a memorable experience and the food tasted best. Ordered mutton soup, bbq chicken, prawn tawa dish and mutton biryani. Everything was good and perfect. Mutton biryani is like Muslim style and not very flavourful.

Recommended. Helpful, smiling staff even when in a rush, good food, slightly crowded, but 'ok' ambiance that suits the tier of restaurant. Not much more to say. They do have valet parking, so that's good...

Zaitoon has been my favourite go to restaurant for years. This branch is also one of my favourite restaurants in this area. Food: Yummy recipes, served great with authentic taste. The Kebab fest special menu items were a must try... The Laham sheekh Kebab was perfect. Dining: I can say that the restaurant is very congested in space but the ambience was ok. Service and behaviour also ok.

Pleasant ambience to enjoy with family and friends. Food was good. We tried Al-faham chicken, Manchow soup, Chicken noodles, Butter naan with chicken butter masala (jaggery added I/o sugar), Variety of mojito and ended on a high note with Cashew kunafa. Seating was a bit uncomfortable for long legged people.

We tried mutton nalli soup (good), Tandoori non veg platter ( which is excellent with variety of meats cooked in different flavours)., Mutton dum biriyani (also good). Service is good, right place for families and groups... Weekends, usually the place is filled with crowd. I strongly recommend to try their platters. I think Zaitoon is very good at this.

Food is good . But it's costly. I ordered chicken biryani. Chilli chicken. Kunafa it's good.

Best food ever. Mutton raan is very soft and tasty, bbq fish is awsm, chiken tikka roll is superb, Butter naan remains soft throughout the meal, mutton roug Ghosh is good. Mutton biriyani and chicken biriyani was good.. Alfam bbq was ok. Dragon chicken was awesome. The bbq fish was very soft, juicy and tasty.

Ambience is nice. Food is tasty. Greats place for a family dinner.

Had my most memorable dinner here with my family last year 05/03/2022!!! 🥺was quite congested as it was on a Saturday but luckily we didn’t had to wait! The food was greatt! The ambience was not up to par but loved the time spent there✨🥺

I have had grilled and tandoori in many places, But it is really amazing here, it is very well cooked and the chicken is very juicy.There are so many number of items apart from our normal Grilled and tandoori. I would really recommend this place for both non vegetarian and vegetarian food lovers to experience this place. Even the vegetarian kabab and side dishes are amazing. There a lot of desert items as well to choose from.

The exotic Mutton Biryani was crafted with a unique style with the right spices cooked at the optimal temperature to bring the authentic and real taste of biryani. The ambience and the service was above expectations. Valet parking available for customers

Excellent service, I have informed them to keep two Iftar boxes for me and despite my late arrival at the restaurant, they have kept the boxes ready and served us on the table. It was sumptuous and value for the money. They have increased the contents this year and it is more than enough for two persons.

Mutton Nalli Soup was a good start.. Zaitoon SPL BBQ was Superb!! Tawa Prawns were Juicy and Excellent Taste.. Chicken Seek kabab and Paneer Tikka was good as well.. Kunafa and Turkish Baklava flavour wise same but tastes fantastic !! Finally don't miss the Tender Coconut Falooda!! (Missed some pics in hungry mode 😋)

I went to Zaitoon Anna Nagar recently. As they say you should reach the restaurant before 12PM or before 12:30 at least for lunch or you will see yourself waiting in queue. First time in my life i tried Arabian dishes.. I started with chicken spicy soup which was nice... It had more chicken pieces unlike what i used to see in other restaurants... The clope Meshwy with kuboos and nice garlic flavored mayonnaise is a creamy and crunchy treat. Squid roast was crunchy and tasty but it had some raw fish smell... Not a big deal though. Arabian Kozi Rice was good. Flavor is also good. But taste is not upto the mark as its a very plain main dish. The gravy they provide with the rice is the same my mother used to make with chapathi in my home and the quantity is also very less.... But you can ask for extra gravy... Even that's not enough to finish the rice.. So better i would say is you must be needing a gravy dish to finish this Kozi rice.. I also had Effa Dejaj (missed to take snap) - flat chicken with spicy coating (4 pieces). It was super tasty and the spice is also very good.. i would recommend Clope Meshwy and Effa Dejaj to new people who wanted to give a try here... The ending Dessert Tender Coconut falooda is also very nice... I wanted to make one thing clear. Wherever you have ice-cream the coconut flavor actually tastes like dried one. Yeah coconut should be served as a fresh one. So i had the similar taste in the ice cream they used in falooda... But the coconut pieces and other sweeteners are really nice... My family was really happy with the quality and taste of food. Overall it costed ₹2560 for 4 persons. We as a family won't eat a lot. So it may differ from people. I would like to visit again to try the mutton dishes, sea food platters and barbecue dishes. Overall rating - 4.5/5 ☺️

We celebrated our uncle's 25th wedding anniversary at Zaitoon... The party hall was very spacious and the taste of the food was also good... The ambiance was really good...

The portion of the food is ample and two can share a biriyani. Try the tandoori platter from zaitoon, it has more than 18 piece of chicken,fish and mutton kebabs. The hospitality is ok and the time taking for them serve the food is very long. We had to wait more than 30 mins for the tandoori platter.

My go to place for chicken barbecue. My fav dishes here would be chicken barbecue, fish barbecue boneless, zaitoon special chicken lollipop (a totally different taste to our usual lollipops), dragon prawns.

The place is good and they are keeping the restaurant is good . They have many signature dishes like Arabian grill and pepper bbq 🍗 is very good . They are keeping pennut salt 🧂 Mayo. The soup is also good . The briyani is same as other restaurant.. All dishes are good and tasty 😋...

One of the good non veg restaurants out there. All their chicken dishes are good. I like their noodles and mughal egg biriyaani the most. Good place to hang out with family.

My first attempt with iftar box. What's inside the box water bottle, Tropicana juice, box of haleem, one samosa, one piece of bbq chicken , kuboos, one chicken shawarma, idiyappam, chicken gravy, box of biryani, fruit salad, ND a dessert.. All costed RS 350. Wfm

Very disappointing experience.i loved zaitoon a lot and hence took my parents for first time.i Kno they used to take extra time after our order to serve.so I took them early at 1 pm in afternoon.wen we ordered mutton biryani the shocking thing they told was it's on way and it will take atlst 45 mins and cant assure even after 45 mins food will reach which means they wanted us to wait till 2 clk at same place even after which they can't guarantee time.also they was saying wat we can do ..you could order some other varieties of food .I dono wat to say.i jus said then it's very disappointing (shocking is biryani is most and available food in any restaurant.) went to buhari.zaitoon please value customers satisfaction rather than making them to order the food which u have.jus becos ur food is good don't think customers will always be there if u keep disappointing customers know to change their food style as well.

Zaitoon is a well established restaurant which has it's branches in most of the areas in the city. Went to this branch in Anna nagar for lunch on a Sunday. The staffs was too slow from the time of taking the order till the time of serving it. They took nearly 40mins to bring the ordered food. Our order was egg briyani, schezwan chicken fried rice, lollypop chicken, grill chicken, kozi dajaj and clope meshvi<br/><br/>Egg briyani was normal nothing to complain in it. But it haven't seen two eggs in one briyani in any of the other restaurants😝.<br/>Quantity 3/5,<br/>Taste 3/5.<br/><br/>Schezwan chicken fried rice was also okay with the taste. My family and I visited this place for dinner .. we usually visit the brand in knk.. this time we wanted to try Anna Nagar due to it being at close proximity to my house ..so this time I wanted to try something new and so I had ordered the chicken sizzlers .. well I'll just say .. it was a wrong place to order sizzlers.. it was quite a disappointment.. the rice as rubbery and hard ..the chicken was over cooked ..hence had to chew double hard to be able to swallow .. the gravy was less in quantity and was not great either .. over all bad experience with the sizzlers<br/>However the rest of the food was great ..<br/>We ordered fried rice<br/>Wheat Parotha<br/>Chicken Lahori gravy<br/>Grilled chicken<br/>Afghani kebabs<br/>And stuffed chicken ( which was the best )<br/>I like the place . Sunday evening we went to Zaitoon.It was very much crowded. We have ordered Chicken Biryani, BBQ Chicken (Half) and Paneer chilly. Biryani is very nice . Taste is not so spicy not so sweet. BBQ Chicken again very nice. But we are very much disappoint when they served Paneer Chilly. It's not at all fresh. It feels you are eating a rubber. Kindly look and try to serve fresh food to customers. Zaitoon i feel it' s very nice for non-veg lovers compare to veg people.

Food was worth the 💰. I loved the butter naan and butter chicken... Lollipop was above average and chicken dum briyani was good.. WORTH IT AND I WOULD SUGGEST THIS PLACE

Zaitoon maintains a good balance between its food items and its offerings. Both Biriyanis and chinese items are great.Well known for its grills. Not a fan of its shawarma. A Great family restaurant✌️

Zaitoon is one among good restaurants at annanagar but i think it has lost its charm!... I ordered for a home delivery ... I ordered fish biriyani and dum chicken Briyani. I didn’t like the fish biriyani! It doesn’t taste like a biriyani at all. It’s just Basmati rice with lot of oil and below the rice, there was masala and the fish tasted very bad. Chicken biriyani is ok too. Fish biriyani is definitely Not value for the price.

today i have ordered mughal egg biryani which was too good,precisely cooked....then dragon chicken another flawless dish added more cashews in it lovely one....then idiyappam i mean string hopper which is soft and good,only problem is dont pack the dish in printed paper because the printed marks were on the dish otherwise its good....then chicken kholapuri was tasted good...packing was neat and no spills....on the whole i relished each and every dish......

Just ordered shawarma, pineapple salad, hommus and pita bread. The shawarma was not cooked enough and did not taste great. The worst was the pineapple chilli salad with may. Horrible in one word. Hommus was one of the worst I have had. Not great value either for the whole order. Delivery took rather long too. There are other Arabian Restaurants close by ,that are way better but has a lower rating. This place does not deserve its current rating.

Recently ordered a fairly large amount of food and had a problem. I received a call after paying, to be told that they cannot do order as there was no chef. I chatted with Zomato Support who said they would call and check. I was told that they would deliver shortly. Hence waited for almost 90 mnts to be then told again that they cannot deliver. Wasted two hours in this process. Have eaten here, but there are other Arabian food outlets with better ambience and quality. No apology from Zaitoon shows how much they care. Best avoided.

Excellent food. Tastes better than most other restaurants. Shawarma is a must have. The ambience is not very great. It feels congested and crowded. The real drawback is the service time. It’s takes way too long. But we didn’t mind it much as we weren’t in a hurry and the taste makes up for what it lacks in time.

One of the worst ever Shawarmas in the city. Bought a chicken shawarma plate and all I got was cabbage and chicken salad!!. No flavor. Every bite tasted like cabbage. Wish I could give negative stars

I have crossed Zaitoon multiple times but never made an order or visited previously before today. I have ordered mutton raan biriyani, it tasted good. It tasted similar to thalaserry biriyani which my mom prepares in home. Mutton pieces were properly cooked.

Ordered shawarma roll from here through the uber offer. The smallest shawarma roll ever with a pinch of filling though it was tasty. If you are not comfortable with the price, why be a part of the promotion and dilute your brand. It is meant to gain customers as part of your customer acquisition cost. Disappointed.

Located in Kilpauk Garden road, it's very easy to find this place. There is no specific Parking Area but it's bearable for two Wheelers. You'll be greeted by a bunch of Swiggy & Zomato guys in the ground Floor. The Dining is in the first floor.<br/><br/>When it comes to food 'Special BBQ' is the chef special. You cannot find a better BBQ anywhere. You can never miss this dish! Briyani is nothing special and it's moderately good with a 80:20 Rice meat ratio. Soups are okay , Starters are good and desserts are amazing.

Best Arabian resto in Anna Nagar circle, always a very big fan of Ter BBQs and TAWAs... Ordered 4in1 BBQ chicken ₹450, pepper and normal BBQ wer too good.. other two were not upto d mark... For d 1st time tried Ter chicken biryani ₹180 it was wow😍 tasty and most importantly spicy biriyani.. biriyani will be a big treat if you are a spicy food lover...

Zaitoon never disappoints, be it Arabian or Indian, they have set a standard for themselves. The Kozi Dazaj and Kozi Laham are my personal favourites. The seafood platter is a must try, absolute delight. The ambience and staff behaviour is very decent as well.<br/>My ratings would be, Food - 4.5, Service - 4, Staff behaviour - 4, Price Value - 4, Ambience - 4 and Cleanliness - 4.5.<br/>Overall Rating - 4.2 out of 5

Ordered tandoori chicken from this place. After some time of order,they called up saying it's not available so similar mutton item is there if you want. We thought let's try as we we're ordering for the first time. Pieces were roughly chopped. Tho it was well cooked but I found the quantity very less according to what we r paying. Plus chips were given too cold and it didn't have any crispiness in it. Roti was worst. Mayonnaise was liquid more than thick paste. Taste of mutton was good that's only thing I like about order. May not order again.

Very dry fried rice. Disappointing Veg chili, passable baby corn. Also where's the option to choose a semi gravy based dish? Only saving grace was the Dal tasks. Perhaps you should cut out Chinese food from your menu and focus on what you're good at!

A Must Try Joint When In Chennai!!!<br/>The best Arabic flavour in Chennai , extremely amazing platters , especially the tandoori platter ,grilled prawns and mutton biriyani ( the rice is perfectly cooked and it's like pearls ) the best hospitality ever and I'm overwhelmed by their service , staffs are well behaved and courteous. <br/>A big shout out to people who haven't tried this joint . <br/>Looking forward to see Zaithoon in Cochin too!!

Excellent place to be in for some great food...we tried the Chicken Manchow Soup, Singapore Fish, Chicken Shanghai Rice, and Hunan Chicken. For desserts, we had Black Lady. Food was really good and the quantity was substantial for two people. The Singapore Fish was a particular delight, the right mix of sweet and spicy with juicy fish at the core. It is a little hard on the pocket pinch but worth the quality. Ambience is pretty amazing as well and the staff is knowledgeable and very friendly and courteous. <br/><br/>It is recommended that you book a table before visiting if you are not comfortable with the idea of waiting. Else, be prepared for a waiting time that could vary between 10-30 minutes depending on the time of your visit.

Zaitoon started giving importance outside order like Zomato and swiggy they don't Bother about their customer who comes there for dining and they can’t even serve for 30 customers.

Love the food at Zaitoon. It’s my all time favourite place. The staff are very friendly and the service is very quick. The food is really good. My favourite dish is the Dragon Chicken, BBQ chicken and their Tandoori chicken. The place is clean and tidy. No complains at all. I visit this branch very often and I’m very content.

I have visited this place multiple times and found one thing there is so difference in taste and consistency of food from lunch and dinner .. too much difference on taste and sometimes naan and roti are too hard to bite and chew . gravy is like thery are using one base with different masalas tats for sure and service is good that's it .. nothing much fancy about tis one and pls pls pls don't go for roti basket on menu . they say its a combination of roti and naan varieties but turned out it was just one naan and one roti with multiple faces I mean they all looks and taste like same and it wont have any butter on it ..
