Review 80 Degrees East - Chennai (Madras)

Started off with the nachos which was LOADED. It stayed crispy till the end. Complimented that with a cucumber mint drink which didn't make me cough up. The ice was perfect and the drink was smooth. And to top it all off there was this huge cheesecake. I mean it was so huge compared to industry standards. Yeah I said it. Because the industry standard cheese cakes are so damn small and flat with no viscosity what so ever. What was astonishing about the cheese cake was the fact that the base was crumbled and not hard and yet it held the cake perfectly good.

Really an youthful place for hangouts with friends and folks, also quite handy for young entrepreneurs' to meet people's over a coffee or a quick bite. About 20+ seating, decently lit ambiance with interesting interior theme, well executed. Even it is adaptable for loners", they have bar stool :) I was meeting some people's over work, had discussion for few minutes them I was super hungry. The staffs were good and polite, quickly ordered Tondoor paneer tikka sandwich & Red wine sangria, didn't had time for more, I was in hurry. Food came early, not quick though but it tasted fantastic, both the sandwich and the drink was amazing. Then I ordered a takeaway for my dad & mom 👍. Good place to try Italian and western food .. Neat and simple place (No AC , just table fans ) ... Cost can be bit less for few items considering the fact the quantity and ambiance .. Must try : Mac and cheese noodles , Mexican combo ( rice , potato wedges & gravy) , Magic corn ( fried corn) .. I didn't like the spaghetti much

A homely ambience and budget friendly walking cafe... The serving speed is not up to the mark.. W had one tasting issue with one of the dish.However, on request the same was corrected. My experience is only with delivery via Swiggy.<br/>Food wise everything I tried was great. Quality, taste and portions were awesome.<br/>Only complaint is about packing. For the prices charged for packing, there is no excuse to send food in such a poorly packed manner. Fries were dumped in a brown paper bag. Sandwich was barely wrapped in white paper and dumped in main plastic bag.

I've never been this disappointed. Ordered cheesy nachos and there was no salsa in the nachos. Instead they dumped the nachos with plain tomato sause. Imagine dipping your nachos in a cup full of tomato sauce. So disgusted by the service. Please do not think your customers are so dumb and you can fool them that easily.

Also like to have Mexican Rice Challenge. The Red Penne Veg Pasta was delicious.

80 degrees east is a vegetarian cafe located at Nanganallur.<br/><br/>It's a nice place for a quick evening snack with friends.<br/><br/>We had Corn cheese nuggets,Nachos and Desi fries for starters.<br/>For mains we had , Mixed red sauce pasta and Schezwan Maggi.<br/><br/>For drinks, we had Oreo milkshake,Blue mermaid and Mango mojito.<br/>For dessert we had Chunky chocolate ice-cream.<br/><br/>The food was pretty good.<br/><br/>But felt it was a little pricey. Dropped by after work for dinner. Order cheese and n mac pasta. The taste was ordinary and boy the quantity was way to less. I had to wait for more than 20 mins for a Brownie Shake which I had to send back because it was tasting bad. They didn't charge me for that even though I insisted.<br/><br/>The two stars given is for the music. They really have to improve on food and service. But I guess they will see crowd turn over due to the location.<br/><br/>All the best to them.

Went here specially with my friends cause we wanted to go to a cafe, we were highly disappointed. The spicy burgers were not at all spicy, in fact they were almost tasteless. The shakes were expensive but the quantity was very less as compared to the others I have tried, and the taste did not justify the price too. Pasta and sandwich were okay. Overall the experience was not good. Just the look of the cafe is not important. Would not recommend.

This is a themed café in Nanganallur. Went here to have dinner after visiting the famous hanuman temple nearby. The café is a about different places in the world. Their walls is full of names of different countries around the world. They have a lovely ambiance and 2 TVs, so you can see live shows and events. I just went here alone and wanted to grab a dish. I ordered schezwan maggie. It’s basically normal Maggie with a small twist. It was a bit soupy type. It had baby corns, capsicum and onions. The Maggie was well cooked and was a bit spicy. I liked it.  <br/><br/>Well I was bit disappointed with the service they offered. There was only one person in the whole restaurant whose role is to act as a waiter and also clean tables. So, ordering the wood also too time! The food took nearly 30 minutes for to prepare. To be honest there wasn’t much crowd in the restaurant but they take a lot of time!  <br/><br/> Overall, there is nothing great to talk about this place. If their service becomes better, people will love to come to this place often.

But, I was wrong, the pasta was runny but, tasted great I guess it was fresh out of de stove as it thickened later. The Veg nuggets was decent, the quantity s less for the price. Wldn coMplain though, the parking s scarce as it is on de main road. Hassel free service, crowd was decent, kids friendly food extra veggies for 10rs. I ordered extra broccoli for my daughter. Over all good! Wld come back again. Even if the price s in de higher side.

very mediocre, this is not death by chocolate at all. for ₹180, you'd have expected some good chunks of chocolate, sadly all there was some crumbled cake and a scoop of ice cream.

Food was good, both portion wise and cost wise it was good. Ambiance could've been better. Parking space should be allocated but isn't available. Would visit the place again just for food.

Been here 4-5 times and have ordered a home delivery a lot more times! <br/>Nice ambience for a meal with friends! They serve pretty fast and have always loved their pasta and Mexican french fries:) the salads are decent enough and their Oreo milkshake is an all time favorite!! Their home delivery is swift too, except for the parking hassles with them being on the main road, this is a cool place to hang out with friends.

(Its all Burgers, Sandwiches, finger foods, milkshakes...etc)<br/><br/>its an occasional go with friends n family place, Its a small place actually (10-14 max can sit in the entire premise) and freaking parking problem, coz it's on the road (And its a small busy road guys)<br/><br/>Its good place, but am sorry not a regular go joint! Am sorry!<br/><br/>The staff and management are kind n soft but still things to learn.<br/><br/>Anyways, All the best!!

I have been to this place many times because I love the food and also the ambience so much. Never thought there would be a cafe like this in Nanganallur. If you are a person who loves food and pleasant environment, this is the perfect place. The staffs here are so sweet. I have no doubt, I will visit this place frequently.

First time I ordered food here.. The food was almost good actually, but it was the worst experience ever.. I have ordered just one Pasta and they made me to wait for 1 and half hours.. And to be note that, my house is just two streets away from this restaurant or what ever they call ! I called them to ask about my order.. They said like, the order has been sent already like before 15 minutes... After the delivery guy has arrived, I asked him, my home is just two streets away and why the delivery took 1 and half hours.. He said, the order has been given to his hand just before 5 minutes.. 80 Degrees East has been my restaurant of choice for ordering over Swiggy for a long time. I especially like their Spicy Broccoli Sandwich, which is a very unique option that not many other restaurants have. So I have always wanted to visit it in person for a long time and I happened to do so last weekend!<br/><br/>Here are my thoughts:<br/><br/>Food: Their focaccia bread sandwiches looks super appetising and well crafted. I have only had good experiences with their sandwiches.<br/>Schezwan Maggi was very slurpy but not soupy, which is a good thing for me. I love it that way. It was delicious. And coming to the last dish, I get excited whenever I see corn on a menu. Ever since I had the fried corn in Absolute Barbecue, I was addicted to it. But here it was a disappointment, the corns were unevenly fried, some of them slightly oily and the batter too crispy.<br/><br/>Menu: A very interesting, unique menu. It has something for everyone, but at the same time it doesn't overwhelm someone with too many choices. There a few options for the daredevil in you as well like the Bisi bele Pasta and Bhel Pasta. But I wasn't feeling particularly adventurous and I decided to skip it. Pricing was just right or slightly expensive, but nothing that bothered me too much.<br/><br/>Ambience: It's a small place with very few tables, but it's put together very well to match the vibe of the restaurant. Only thing that didn't gel with the setup was the TV playing local channels loudly. We asked them to switch it off and they muted the audio. So it was just playing for no reason. I have never quite understood why any restaurant does that, especially a cafe / restaurant like 80 Degrees East.<br/><br/>Service: We were the only customers yesterday. Pretty surprising for a restaurant with good reviews on a Saturday afternoon. But a lot of Swiggy guys came over though. Found this cafe When I was searching for a quick meet with my old buddies near my area.. we dinned for an evening munching.. the cafe is small but the ambience is really Good and pleasing.. <br/><br/>We ordered French fries they toped it with deep fried curry leaves, which gave a nice flavor to the fries. We ordered almost everything on the menu. <br/>Burgers were ok, spicy burger had no spice, I can only imagine what the normal veg burger would be like. <br/>Ordered garlic bread, but they offered normal one.<br/>Pastas had extra salt. Tandoori paneer pasta had all things thrown together, white sauce pasta was without taste.<br/>In beverages we had hot chocolate, brownie milkshake, fruit punch, butterscotch milkshake. Milkshakes were not at all thick. <br/>French fries and nachos were fine but won't recommend them for a restaurant.<br/>

Pathetic food. Worst food ever had in my life. Don't eat even if someone is giving you a treat. A cafe that caught the attention among the residents of nanganllur.<br/>A small cute place with a decent menu.<br/>order:French fries..Crispy fries with a good quantity.<br/>Rice: continental affair..It's just a time pass dish I would call it.The dish tried to fake the continental taste .<br/>Burgers: Good quantity.But the Patti and the bun never complimented so well.<br/>Drinks:Cold coffee is a must try one.<br/>Would also suggest the green apple refreshing mocktail.<br/>Excellent service.Overall a cafe to hog on nd have fun with food ..

Simple yet tasteful interiors; i wish i could say the same of the food too. Ordered garlic bread, a double deck burger, and a couple of pastas. Was extremely disappointed with the double deck burger. Both the patties were just sitting in there, clueless about what to do!<br/> At that price point, i surely expected better.<br/>The pasta was good though, some saving grace for the disaster that the double burger was.<br/>Would i recommend to someone - Yes for the pasta.Would i go again - perhaps after a year or so after they have learnt the ropes.

The menu card will never fail to impress ur tummy. Quite a noteworthy and must eat place.. Corn cheese nuggets.. Garlic bread.. Mixed veg red pasta.. Happiee happiee 😀😁

One of a kind cafe opened up in this locality. <br/>They got the typical cafe look from inside - random songs, few chairs and tables, not much crowded & decent food. It’s the new found hangout spots for friends in nanganallur 😅<br/><br/>I was here with bunch of friends for dinner. <br/>The menu is here simple and nothing that was startlingly different <br/><br/>We ordered desi fries and nachos as starter with raspberry and green apple mojito <br/><br/>Fries were goooooood. Very desi in flavor, but could have been crispier <br/>Nachos .... nahhhhh ! Not the best. Go for something else <br/><br/>For mains we had paneer tikka sandwich, creamy corn pasta & Mexican rice. <br/><br/>The Mexican rice portioning was large. Loved that <br/>Tastewise also it was good, would have really liked some more Mexican flavors in it. Maybe served with some nice salsa and tortilla chips ? <br/>Pasta - decent. Bread slices missed in serving. Which is like the necessity for any sauce based pasta <br/>Coming to the sandwich, first wasn’t served with focaccia bread :( <br/>And over that the sandwich was squished, too thin, many elements missing. 80° E A S T<br/>It is a modest little place located in Nanganallur (close to the Railway station).This place isn't as extravagent as shown in the pictures on zomato, in reality it seemed mediocre.Pocket friendly with a wide range of options. Parking will be a problem for four wheelers while for the two wheelers it's kind of managable. <br/>What we ordered..?<br/>1.Desi Fries - Crispy fries with spicy Indian masala. Similar to the Peri Peri fries you get at McDonalds. Price 80.<br/>2.Cheese Garlic Bread - Crunchy , Crispy and Cheesy breads with a gentle flavour of garlic. Price 70<br/>3.Indian Masala Mix Maggie - The usual maggi with extra indian masala and veggies. Yummy and perfect for a cosy evening. Price 80<br/>4.Mixed Veggies Cream Pasta - The white sauce was runny and it tasted just fine. Moderately good. Price 149<br/>5.Oreo Shake - It was served with vanilla ice cream. The flavour of oreo could have been more enhanced and the shake could have been a little less watery. Price 150. <br/>6.Brownie Shake - This was served with chocolate ice cream. The brownie crumbles overpowered the shake and made it hard for us to drink. Not Recommended. Price 150.<br/>7.Oreo Cheese Cake - Had huge expectations but rather tuned out to be normal. Cheese cakes are typically done with cream cheese but this one here was made with whipping cream. Unfortunately, it tasted a lot better when the first time we came here. Such a smal place with beautiful backgrounds..sundaes and milkshakes are the best ive ever tried on this cafe!!Always the places is crowded and price is also not too heavy..you can expect for a decent price
