Good food Not much place to sit, Beware of the quantity of fried rice here it can be for two people.

I have been here many times... A great option for Chinese.. Corn kernels and Lotus stems are a must try for veg.. Schezwan veg rice is good not too spicy... Also this place has Zomato gold so you can get great discount...

Tip: call before going and tell them to turn the AC on. Good food and good service. Its a small space so ambience is decent. It's located on the main road so parking is an issue. If you go by bike still it's okay you can manage. No way for cars, you have to park it somewhere else and walk. Still the food was nice. Ice tea was not available when I went. I had Pan fried Chicken, garlic and Chilli mixed(chicken & prawn) fried rice, Lemon soda. Overall God experience.

Recent time favu spot for Chinese and Asian cuisine. Restaurant seems to be small and cute but the food really speaks out. We ordered atleast 5 to 6 items, each tastes delicious especisally their Chinese gravies were really good. Will refer my friends to cisit this place too.

A small restaurant with good ambitious. We went to this restaurant late night, but the staff were very kind and gave us the ordered menu with a smile. And then we came to know that they have closed the restaurant and only for us they remained open. The taste blended our taste buds especially American chopsuey soup Gravy.

What ever others say but I love the food what we had, we had tumpura prawns, honey lamb, manchow soup, fried rice, pat thai Noodles & more. Everything was very good & phenomenal in taste. Price is also reasonable but service was very very poor idk why.

Love the quality and quantity of good! Tasty momos at the best 😋 the place and ambiance is not that great, kinda small place! No parking availability is a huge concern as on my first experience had to go around the outlet couple of times to find a parking spot in the road.

We had great food here late at night, so parking wasn't a concern for us but would be if you're looking to dine in during day time. We ordered Momo's, cracker chicken, corn cornet and Szechwan fried rice. Every dish was absolutely good. And the place had a good ambience too. The staff were courteous and very responsive too. The pricing is also not too heavy on your wallet. The wash area could be better maintained though. Will definitely visit again.

Parking is the only point of concern. Rest all is good. Beautiful steaks and sizzlers. Zomato gold accepted. Toilets could be neatly maintained and better ambience from road to dining table is recommended.

It may have been one of the nice places to hangout in Chennai and so we tried out with my friends, but i found it really disappointing. The food items were very mediocre, the service even more, we were the only customers(table of 6) one evening. They were preparing everything all at once. It took them half an hr to give us soup and then everything was dumped on us while we were eating soup.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in town. Granted, the place is a bit small and the hand-wash area is not promptly maintained, but the quality of food is top-notch, and I always pop in here for their Kung Pao chicken and Mountain Chilly Prawns.

Near Ambika depot, Adyar - Next to “Aunty Uncle” shop in Adyar. . We tried Tom Yam soup , Hot basil chicken, Mongolian chicken noodles and Veg fried rice. Good food with decent quantity and good taste. . If they could change “Tissue holder”, that would be great..not comfortable one to take napkins.

Olive and Basil, this small cafe tucked in Adyar serves relishing and delectable Chinese, Asian and continental cuisines. The décor is quite simple with black cushioned chairs and sofas that goes along with the light paint textures. They are known across the city for their pan Asian cuisine that includes a variety of Chinese and Thai dishes. The Olive and Basil offer some uniquely flavored momos and noodles.

The worst ever experience of any Zomato Gold restaurant. This restaurant is worth of only 0.2 Rating not at all 4.2. Hardly 4 tables are there and it's not bigger than a room (Smelly room). Only one staff who whose service and attitude was pathetic. We had to wait for almost 15-20 minutes for everything like Placing an Order, payment etc. Food taste is horrible. Its a nice place that has good food. The ambience is something unique, but still have a good vibe. I went with my friend and we wanted to try something new so we ordered the Honey Chilli Lotus Stem and it was delicious (more favorable for those who like the flavour of bbq sauce). Also ordered the asian bbq cottage cheese and pan fried chicken dumplings. The dumplings were cooked right and the chutney served along with it was great.

Ordered food online with Olive and Basil and they accepted the order. After 30 minutes they cancelled the order without giving any reason. Can never trust them and will never try out the hotel again.

Its a wonderful place to have food with your loved ones. The restaurant was less crowded hence we were able to sit for a long time and chat and slowly eat. The food was really good and was quite pocket friendly too.

First of all, it's a very small place. The taste of the dishes were very good. Mongolian chicken, momos , chopsey, fried rice . The meat was cooked well n smelled fresh. Ambience could have been better. The service was very poor. It took a long time for the food to arrive despite we being the only group there to eat. Need to work on that. You can try it just for the food.

So I visited Olive and Basil, Adyaar a while back... My order was purely vegetarian.<br/>We started off with the Hot n sour soup. Damn it was delicious and it lived up to its name. Definitely a must try ! (Rs 120)<br/><br/>Pan fried Momos, my personal favourite, was cooked to perfection and the chutney served alongside was ultimate ❤️, it was spicy, and had an essence of coconut and spices and it was truly amazing. I literally sat and ate the chutney separately in the end😂. (Rs 160)<br/><br/>For the mains we ordered schezwan fried rice and schhezwan chopsey- my fam's a huge fan of spice- and vegetables in brown sauce for sides. The gravy was good... But the vegetables were a bit too large in the gravy for my liking... The broccoli seemed slightly undercooked. The chopsey was really good and crispy although the sauce was a bit more on the sweeter side... That was the only downside of it... The rice was perfect... Could have been a little more spicy though.<br/>( Gravy - rs 210, rice - rs 160, chopsey - rs 160)<br/><br/>The biggest downside was the late service... Even though we loved the food... We got really tired of waiting for the food... Even a. Few who came after us were served faster..<br/><br/>On the whole I wud rate the experience a 3.5/5 .<br/><br/>

Went for dinner to O&B, the food and service was really good. What stood out was the overall upkeep of the restaurant. Poorly maintained. Not a place where you can comfortably eat without worrying about the hygiene. We ordered a bunch of stuff, soups and prawns in starters and American chopsey and a garlic based mains. The food was great and so was the staff serving it. I don’t intend to visit this place again but give a chance, I would be happy to order home delivery.

Visited this place again after a long time. This time with Zomato gold and a hungry tummies. We ordered the momo platter, couple of sizzlers and mee goreng noodles which was bit too much for the three of us. We wanted to top it off with fried ice cream but we were disappointed that it wasn't available.<br/><br/>One suggestion for the restaurant management is if they can soundproof the party hall it would be great as the music and noise was kind of distracting. Also we were wondering why the place is not being expanded to the adjacent space as well.

Dingy place. AC does not work. Food quality was not good. Fish used in preparation of Chilli fish was stale. Noodles, fried rice had no flavor. Chicken Manchurian was completely bland. Not at all a good dining experience.

The food here is all good except for the chef specials but it a must try. The ambiance is not that bad too except for the music, after saying it all I think this is not a bad choice to go to for a dinner.

One of the must visit places in Adyar. This one mostly specialises in Asian delicacies and their Musamman curry is simply amazing. Only drawback is the flight of stairs needed to be taken to reach this restaurant situated in the first floor, which might be difficult for some. That apart, everything is brilliant. They have even helped us with currency changes during the 2015 floods. We have always been a regular here and I highly recommend this place.

We were around Adyar and decided to eat at O&B as it's been sometime since I had visited the place. Ordered baby corn pepper fry which was decent. Followed by chapati and parotta with a mixed veg side. Chapati and parotta was dead cold and my wifey who always has an eye for detail found a stapler pin. She immediately refused to eat and which I conveyed to the manager. He accepted to cancel that and we ordered a plain veg fried rice which was again decent. Wasn't satisfied with the visit at all.

Visited this place last night(Saturday), not much crowd around, it took almost 2 hrs to get our order delivered.<br/>The staff informed us that there was a birthday party happening,that's why the order was getting delayed at the end when we asked for the delay reason.<br/>If they have delays for the delivery, they should inform us at the beginning, not after waiting for 2 hrs.<br/>The quality of the food was also below average.<br/>The staff apologized for the delay while paying the bill and they also promised us that they will Improve the service next time. Why will I visit this place again? after all this fuss...not worth it as per my experience. Not a good this place on weekends.

As everyone stated, food is great, tasty, etc. However the service is far far below expectations. The cashier doubled up as the waiter and the dishes took forever to arrive when I visited. The place is cramped and there is not enough space to move comfortably between tables. I would have awarded more stars but their service simply doesn't cut it.

I am an Asian cuisine lover and this place always topped my list for good Asian food with a pocket friendly price. But not after this experience. Me and 2 of my friends were excited heading to this place for a weekday lunch. We ordered the Thai Corn Soup, which felt like veges and corn powder mixed in hot water. Next we ordered the "special chicken" recommended by the staff as signature dish along with a Asian Cottage cheese starter with barbeque sauce, both the chicken and cottage cheese felt like rubber in my mouth. We still had the courage to order Momo platter and Pad Thai. Momo's were decent when compared to other dishes, but the Pad Thai, well it wasn't Pad Thai. It was flat noodles mixed with soy sauce with chili flakes and cheese toppers.<br/>Overall, the food experience was deeply disappointing<br/>

Keeps making me come back with the great quality and variety of food. Momos here are unparalleled, as is most of their other dishes. We had the veg momos, guay tiew and their sizzling brownie and found ourselves quite full in both out tummy and wallets! Definitely a place to visit more than once for Chinese food :)

Went on a Sunday. Small and quite place, probably some renovation work was in progress. The food tasted good especially the Masiamara Chicken was the stand out of the lot. Good place to dine if you are a smaller group of 3-4.

Recently ordered the sea food soup and was very good and did not disappoint.<br/>Taste of food / experience has been inconsistent - some dishes are very good - a recent order of seafood soup and seafood fried rice was really good and would rate that at 5.<br/>However the experience with the next order of chicken bao and eight treasure hot pot was ok and rate that at 3.<br/>Similarly a combo meal of egg fried rice and gobi manchurian gravy was not great - the fried rice was good but the side dish was disappointing. ..bland , and qty was not sufficient for the rice provided, and would rate that 2. Not sure if the priced down/ value meal contributed to the qty and taste of the side dish.

We went during Lunch hours on a Saturday. Ordered Veg and Chicken Garlic Soup, which were absolutely delicious. For starters we went with Corn Cornet, Dragon and Julienne Chicken. Again all 3 dishes were excellent. The masala and spice content would be overkill in certain Thai and Chinese restaurants, but the spice was perfect over here. For main course we ordered Chicken Nasi Goreng, Egg Khao Pad Krapao and Veg Mangolian Noodles. The quantity was above average for 5 people and we ended up wasting a bit. The taste and variety was average and could not find huge differences in the varieties. The place is good value for money and great for Chinese and Thai lovers. Overall it was a good experience for a Saturday Lunch. :)

I've ordered fried rices , chicken starters, orange tea.. but there is no sauce... No spoon... And more over it has the uber eats logo, which i was ordered from zomato.. strange

I ordered Tom Kha soup,pan fried fish with red chilli paste , pan fried prawn dumplings. Tom Kha soup aroma was good, and tasted creamy . Pan fried fish is wrapped with Banana leaf and fried.. its Basha fish with spicy masala and tasted good. And lastly their pan fried dumplings is too good and hot.

Take a long time to serve the food. The waiters have to learn to communicate properly with the customers otherwise the food here is great !!!

Decent small space with old school caricature on the wall. This place is quite cheap in terms of price in comparison to other flashy places in that area. Easy on pocket but good in tummy kinda restaurant. Being Sunday evening ,crowd in this place was bare minimum. There is no parking for this place hence could be a problem some. Coming to the food i found few dishes to be very authentic while others were like regular chinese that we might have eaten in any other fast food joints. Ordered delivery through the app. The restaurant took almost an hour to prepare 2 soups and 1 dish. The Tofu that we ordered was very poorly cooked. The Tofu was rubbery and tasted oily.<br/><br/>The soup was good. I have rated 2 stars for late preperation and the poorly cooked Tofu.<br/><br/>

The place hides in the plain sight and a has a small interior on the first floor. Must go if you're not able to decide which cuisine you want to go for.. because this place has a lot to offer both in terms of quantity and variety. This is a tiny place located opposite the adyar bus depot.It has just 4-5 tables with the cashier doubling up as the waiter 😄<br/>Coming to the food part,has the usual Chinese/Thai rice,noodles,gravies and momos,Baos,sizzlers + decent drink and dessert options.We went for an order of honey chilli lotus stem,pan fried veg dumplings,Paneer sizzler,colada frappe and a kachchi lemonade.<br/>The colada frappe came first and was very good.Nothing that could be faulted.<br/>The kachchi lemonade had this strong sour taste to it and was lip smacking - literally!<br/>Then came our honey chilli lotus stem.While the flavors were there,I found the lotus stem to be over fried and hence very dry.<br/>The pan fried momos was the usual fare.The dip wasn’t very spicy and the garnishing of the inner filling was done to a minimum.Again flavour wise,no complaints but found it too oily.<br/>Finally the paneer sizzler was served.It was accompanied by a bowl of rice.The quantity of paneer was pretty generous with broccoli,French beans thrown in.Was probably the best dish that day.<br/>And then finally paying the bill part which I normally don’t include as a part of my review(obviously) but forced to in this case!So this waiter turned cashier comes with the bill and we find service charges being added @ 5%.While I would’ve been ok with it IF the service were good and IF I were informed about it, neither happened.So I politely asked him to make another copy excluding the service charges to which he said that service charges were mandatory.So after 5 mins of telling him that it is the gst that is mandatory,not service charges and him not relenting,I asked him to connect me to somebody higher up so we can get this clarified.He immediately changed his stance saying for gold members the service charge is mandatory.I agreed to pay it up if I were shown the exact wordings to that effect either in my gold t&c or the GoI’s!After this much debate,he went and brought back a copy minus the service charges!So if you are the kind of person who gives your card without checking the bill,this is a warning for you.<br/><br/>PS - Rating only for food!<br/><br/><br/>

Wanted to go for dinner, that’s when this place struck on my mind. It’s a very cozy place with limited seats. They’ve got cute doodles on their wall, unfortunately, I couldn’t click a picture of their wall. Coming to the orders placed , I got exactly what I had ordered. It took around 15-20 minutes for the food to reach my table which made me want to swallow my entire order within minutes. <br/>Food ordered from the menu: <br/> Chicken Hokomein Noodles- ₹180<br/>Masiamara chicken- ₹230<br/><br/>Starting with the noodles: they were soft and cooked perfect. It smelt turmeric and had a bit of a turmeric taste to it. It wasn’t oily. <br/> Masiamara chicken: it was a perfect combination with the hokomein noodle. The pieces were tender. Loved the masiamara chicken. Definitely worth tasting it.

Cockroach in food - Ordered Nasi Goreng (mixed) from this restaurant using Zomato and found cockroach mixed in my food. Really disappointing experience. For a restaurant which has a rating of 4.2 it was really unexpected. Would not recommend it to others.

I went for lunch with my friend, it’s small joint. But is good, worth for money. I ordered momos it was nice..the service of the staff was good. I would recommend my friends to visit this place

Amazing food. The spicy corn soup and the pan fried dumplings are a real treat for starters. The main course had Hong Kong fried rice and veg ball Manchurian.. both with really good quantity and amazing taste.. WFM .. will definitely visit again

Place to get some peace along with food cooked to perfection. If you need a quieter place , nice music and amazing food then stop by olive and basil.

Had team lunch in Olive and Basil today. One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Service was pathetic and food quality was substandard.<br/>We had to request for so many time for cutleries.<br/>Pick of the food was manchow soup which was very good. Other than that all the starters tasted the same and desert collections was one of the worst.<br/>Needs a lot of improvement in both service and food quality.<br/>

Pretty small restaurant with just 4 or so tables, the service guys doesn't know the languages you speak, but the food is the top notch which is the ultimate thing you want.., the rate is also cheaper with more quantity than many restaurants out there. So overall a good one!!

Went In for a quick dinner before the match screening (at the same place). Cozy ambiance with very limited seat and ideal lighting.<br/><br/>The food was amazing. A Thai Prawn Curry for 260 bucks with such quantity and taste was totally worth it. Probably the closest to the authentic ones I have tried lately. The lemongrass iced tea could have had more tea flavours, however, the drink was a good one at that.<br/><br/>Mosquitoes were the only negative that I could mention, overall a really satisfied customer. Definitely going back for more.

I experienced poor service at this place. Had to wait for a longer time for food arrival. Ordered honey chilli lotus stem and was given cauliflower. Disappointed!

Appetizers and starters were really tasty, but the main course really disappointed us. Main course gravy was too salty. We told them to change, which they did, but it was still salty. Finally decided to not have the gravy.<br/><br/>Their garlic soup, momos, honey chilli lotus stem were quite nice. On the other hand manchurian gravy was average and salty. So was the chicken broccoli mushroom gravy.<br/><br/>Don't try the fried icecream dessert as it has a cold layer of flour on it which tastes bad. Fried icecream is supposed to be hot and crispy outside and cold inside. This one was cold inside out and was tasting bad. Please fix this recipe. We ordered Mangolian Chicken noodles, same was billed too but what we received is Vegetable Noodles. We had it full since we doesn't want to cancel & waste the food.<br/>On seeing bill, they informed service charge is optional but didn't ask our opinion on the same, rather they informed that Zomato review will offer us 10% discount on current Bill, but members been there doesn't know to guide us on usage of zomato app to review. The food speaks up for itself: quantity and quality, both.<br/>It is super reasonable and the food is yum.<br/>The place is really cozy and one of the best Chinese in town.
