BAY|6 a beachfront restaurant in an otherwise unassuming stretch of mostly residential plot of land...it sits on the beach with beautiful coastline views. Today, we sat atop the terrace patio, the sun was mild, the temperature just perfect, the views and winds to remind you how beautiful and serene nature is, a blessed day. The company was great, we sat there for over three hours, the wide variety of food all fresh, and flavorful. The wait staff and service were good but small room for improvement. Hope you get to enjoy the place one day.

1.Not suited for budget oriented Customers. 2. Suitable place for dining with Business partners and ventures. 3. The beach view is quite good and evening is the best tym to enjoy with a grl frnd. 4. Most of the dishes are ment to be an addon for drinks 5. Regular foods - only fried rice and noodles were available 6.Staff are good and well mannered. 7. Dining per head average will be around 999/-.(its only average) Overall - it's a good experience, good food a change from traditional foods - Thai noodles a classic pinch Preferable for bachelor party, business meet & dining, lovers evening hangouts.

Located just beside the beach, this cafe is a go to place for anyone driving down ECR. The board is not very prominent so one has to lookout for the turning. With great outdoor seating in shacks, and a raised seating with a great view of the sea, this place is just wonderful. With a great bar and sumptuous menu I would recommend a visit to anyone going for a weekend drive on ECR.

The ambience was good and food was okay

It was an awesome experience visiting tis place.. Food was nice n their biriyanis are deliciously cooked. Good hospitality. Last but not least nice place to watch IPL in a wonderful atmosphere.. Thanks fr making our visit worthful. Nice place for kids to play around.

Love this place for ambience and location . It is very near to beach and while sitting on raised platform of restaurant you can actuality see the sea waves , looks great in full moon day . Food is average band costly Good thing is they serve alcohol and sometime put a big display to watch cricket

Sea breeze, pets are allowed, good place for drinks and just sea side atmosphere . Food is ok . Try to book a sea side front row table instead of huts .

Went there with a group of friends to celebrate our friends graduation, but the night was bad because of the slow service done on the food, they must improve a lot on their service <br/>

Trust me, you have to wait for hours together to get the starters!<br/>Had a very bad experience! Went with a friend of mine and ordered Panner tikka and veg Hakka noodles! <br/>After 15 mins, table mats n plates were arranged for us on the table! After 20 mins, order was taken! After half an hour of order, the person came and said that noodles would take 10 mins to 20 mins! We said okay! But then later after 10 mins, another person came and told that noodles is not available. <br/>Remember until then, even the paneer tikka starter wasn’t served. <br/><br/>Very poor service <br/>

I went there for dinner yesterday after my convocation. It was really good. Gave a good vibe. The beach atmosphere and under the skies... it was pleasant. Crispy chilly lamb tasted really good. The chilly fish tasted good as well. I loved the tandoori chicken, fish fingers. The chicken pizza was okay. Egg fried rice was good. Mutton biriyani, the mutton was so hard and the rice was cheap. Virgin pina colada tasted bad. They customised my mocktail as well. It was amazing, it was peach + fresh creme + simple syrup. <br/>We had a good time but the price was a bit high. And they were treating as good but at the same time the waiter had a little attitude.

If you are a beach lover, then this place is a must try. They have a seating in the open with a beach view. The ambiance was really good. Food was decent. Nice place to hang out with friends on a weekend.<br/><br/>The food delivery was a little slow. But overall experience was great for me and my friends.

If you have planned to ruin your day, then sunshine cafe full fills all the requirements. We reached there around 6pm and ordered the food, then lights went out for 2hrs, food was not served for 2hr. When we asked them to serve something complimentary because its already 2hr and nothing has been served, they served peanut masala. After waiting for food for around 2.5hr we planned to leave the place and then they handed us the bill in which they charged 400rs for 2 peanut masala which they mentioned was complimentary. We got really upset and asked them about the bill, they rudely answered no it was not complimentary, and on top of that, they had the audacity of charging service charge after ruining our evening.<br/><br/>Worst place would not recommend.<br/>Nearby cafe like smoke factory are far better than this place.<br/><br/>PS: we waited for thus long because it was birthday party, we didn't want it to be ruined, and their staff was keep on saying it will be fixed in 10-15 min. We already waited for 1hr so we thought another 10 min will be fine.

Worst service. Was waiting for food for ages. There wasn't even light there. Got charged for service which wasn't even provided. Staff was very rude

One of the worst places I've been to in Chennai. Food was horrible, over priced. Was absolutely inedible. It smelt of freon gas. Couldn't try more than a bite of it, had to leave immediately. The ambience of the place is poor as well but has a nice view outside. The waiter had serious communication issues no matter what language I spoke in, had absolutely no idea what any of the items in the menu were. He thought 'brownie with ice-cream' was a beer(I'm not kidding). He had to go somewhere and come back every time something was asked. Avoid at all costs unless you just want a good view.

Its a very good place near the beach. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the food was made to perfection and ofvourse there is a special mention to the cool ambience and great staff.

I must say the location and the ambience of the place itself had me sold on it. Everything else just fades in front of it. The food was not extraordinary but was okay. Could be better. The cocktails also had very little punch. For the price, they could serve better food and drinks I feel. Service was good. But I would go back there for that view any day !

Awesome location, had a good time watching the moon rise from the sea... Food was nice. They play good songs and I liked the minimalistic setup. Nice place to catch up with friends. Definitely not the candle light romantic dinner type of place but the relaxed eat out and enjoy kind of a place. Cocktails were nice

The food was very bad..we ordered dal fry mixed veg everything had curry leaves in it.Not a place for North Indian.Electricity was going every time.So it turned out to be candle light dinner.But one thing was good that was brownie 👌🏻.snacks we ordered chilli chicken n paneer that was also good but little spicy.Ambience is good near by the sea beach..

What an ambiance.Roof top, indoor,outdoor,beach view,hut.You name it.They got it.This place is a beach house turned into a restauraunt.If you love food in beach this place is a must try.Their menu doesn't stand out.Not that expensive.But the food was good.Went there for lunch.We had mocktails which was okayish.For soup we tried murugh dhaniya shorba could have been better.The stand out dish was cilantro chilli grilled cottage cheese steak if you are a vegetarian try not to miss this one.And their Alferedo was very saucy just the way I like it.For desserts we had blueberry cheese cake.Tasted good.Overall a good dining experience.💚💚

The best thing about this place has to be the location! Located right next to the juhu beach, with pretty outdoor seating its great place for those who would love some private time with no much distractios! But there's nothing much to say about the interior's for its basically a beach house turned into a bar. And hence there's nothing much done to the interior's. They're starters were good, though they can do better. But the main course was below average, so overall food experience would be a 3/5. Drinks were a disappointment too. We could barely feel any booze in there. Cocktails were concentrated with juice and ice cubes and hence it was below average too. But then, the way the drinks were presented was attractive. I personally think they should work on the food, drinks and maybe interior too.

Pathetic. Ordered veg food and received an non veg food. Very very slow delivery; received food after 50 min that too wrong one. The menu shown here in Zomato is different and in real it is priced more.

A Serene beach-y ambience. Fell in love with the place as the time crawls post evening. Outdoor seating is windy and peaceful. Food on the other hand is complementing as well. <br/><br/>We got a masala omelette, peri peri chicken strips, gobi manjurian, paneer tikka and a burnt garlic fried rice. All were very very good. Properly cooked and spiced to perfection. The cocktail although din have a hint of alcohol. It was pretty much like juice.

Peaceful place, with good ambiance. No jarring music, good getaway for a weekend. You can hear the sound of the waves, staffs are friendly and polite. They have indoor seating which i didn't opt for. Outside seating is lovely with shacks. Love this place. Food tastes delicious and pocket friendly.

5 STAR ambience. Outdoor seating, indoor seating, beach view seating and also a separate bar. We didn't try much food out there. But will definately visit again and try more dishes. We ordered a prawn starter which is not so great by the way.

Sunshine Cafe is located in ECR, right next to the beach and is the perfect place to spend your weekend. The view from the restaurant is just amazing. Definitely a good hangout spot with friends. Coming to the food, my favourite was the Stuffed Mushroom, which was packed with flavour. The mocktails and cocktails were great too. The main course was pretty disappointing, the pasta was too bland and the sauce was pretty dilute. The pizza was average. Coming to the desserts, the cheesecake was delicious but the icecream brownie was not upto my expectations. The ice cream was cristalized. Overall, I enjoyed my experience but they could work a little on their main course.

Located by the beach, this place offers a wonderful ambience - such beauty, much wow. A very calm and a peaceful spot to chill with your buddies or go on a date with your partner. Also, as we walked in, we figured out that it is a house converted into a cafe. The interiors were quite plain and simple, making it seem like dining at home. Nothing distinctive or noteworthy. The Pasta had a very bad consistency - it was super watery. Also, the Chicken starters were decent. Nothing amazing. <br/><br/>But, let me be quite honest and I hope the management takes this seriously. The food served here surely doesn’t do justice to the brilliant ambience. It could be way better.<br/><br/>The most disappointing of all the dishes were the seafood and the desserts. The shrimps and fish, smelled and tasted super raw. Shrimps looked raw as well.<br/><br/>The desserts, on the other hand, seemed pretty old. Ordered 3 Blueberry Cheesecakes and only one was properly done, making it seem like they ran out of blueberry compote for the rest. The other 2 didn’t look a bit appetising at all. <br/><br/>The brownie was just okay. But, the Ice-cream served along wasn’t. How long do you guys store your ice-cream? It looked gross and was literally like ice. Really disgusting. <br/><br/>Hoping to see this place improve! Worth a visit for the ambience at least.

I actually could not find something to criticise. Food was good. Was served quick and with a lot of courtesy. The servers were friendly and were open to recommend their ware. We were there in the night and they offered the sea view place spot. Good spot to sit down for a drink in the evening/night. I would recommend the place.

The beautiful beach view and the smell of the beach Air is one of the first reasons I love this place .<br/>There is a open hut cafe outside , and you can dine inside as well . Both ways , the view is lit .<br/>The partitioned hall deliberately designed for the noisy gang is mention-worthy .<br/>The menu is quite huge and heavy and the variety will have you confused over your order .<br/>The bar menu is quite fascinating too and the cocktail varieties are nice . The food was pretty decent .<br/>Favourites from the menu - paneer tikka pizza , chicken lollipop , stuffed mushrooms .

In the mood to visit a cafe near the beach we decided to try out sunshine cafe....<br/>It’s on one of the roads that lead to the beach on ECR... This cafe is basically a villa turned into a cafe...They even have a bar...<br/>They have both inside and outside seating.. We opted to sit outside...<br/>The outside seating is made on a slightly elevated level so that we can see the sea while being seated at our tables...<br/>And let me tell you the view is amazing...<br/>Since we just came to enjoy the sunset we decided to go in for short eats...<br/>We ordered a Chicken Ceaser Salad, Masala Peanuts and a plate of Peri-Peri fries...<br/>The Salad came first... The lettuce leaves in the Salad were droopy and not fresh... A few bites and we sent it back... They offered to make it again but we refused because they would have used fresh lettuce if they had it in the first place...<br/>Next came the Masala peanuts... It was good... no complaints...<br/>Last but not least came the fries... It did not taste spicy like Peri-peri fries is supposed to be... In fact it almost had a cheesy powder sprinkled over it... It did not taste bad .. but it did not taste good either...<br/>Worth a visit for the ambience... Decent staff... At the end of the meal they apologized for the mistakes on account of the chef not having come...<br/>Food isn’t great..But must visit if you love a killer sea view...

Loved the food. Only concern was that it took a long time for the ppl to bring food. They had good variety of alcohol and food was actually great. Would appreciate if there was an increase in quantity. They have a new menu of food. So go try it for sure. The view and setting is mind blowing. This is my go to place in ecr.

It’s a fairly large property with some killer views of the beach. Ideal for romantic Candlelight dinners in the beach. While the food was really good it took forever to reach us. We had a veg biryani and loved it. The dragon paneer starter was done well too. The cocktails are more towards the expensive side while the other items are really value for money.

Been there for a causal dinner with friends!<br/>We ordered sunshine prawns-7/10,calamari-6/10,veg momos-9/10,dragon chicken-4/10,hong kong noodles-3/10, mutton biryani-5/10,chicken fried rice-7/10,blue curacao mocktail-7/10,browine with ice cream-7/10(ice cream was less though),soft drinks-(charged 20 extra for a 20 rupee pet bottle)!<br/><br/>Slashed a 5% gst and 6% service charge.<br/><br/>A relaxing place to chill with friends and family!<br/><br/>You guys have to work on the quantity and very thing else is just fine! Fantastic location, albeit not made use of its potential. Following the stereotype of ECR restaurants/lounges, this place is a beach side bungalow converted to a beach eatery. I’d call it an eatery as there’s nothing in the ambience that compels me to classify it as a lounge, cafe or a fine dine. You are basically given a platform to sit with one halogen light that’s just not sufficient.. too dim light a place. <br/>Food is ordinary, nothing that would entice you to drive back there again. Given the limited on paper menu is exhaustive, but on the day of our visit which was a weekend, there were many missing items on the list) menu, I’d prefer seafood. <br/>Service is too slow. Considering it’s opened recently and the management would be right now in the gauging mode, I’d pass on the benefit and not crib too much on this point.<br/>Overall, I’d rate it a ‘2’, that one extra point just for the location.

Been here today with fly high expectations, place was very nice and neat. Started with murgh pepper tikka and a cocktail and waited nearly 30 mins for the table to be filled in, tikka was not tasted as expected. Improvisation required in fast service and quality as ambience is very awesome for a sunset dinner

This is an amazing cafe. I am visiting chennai and while hunting for a beach side place (a little of Goa in mind :D ); After an extensive research I found this place. It’s located in a quite place (something I prefer) dot on the beach. You don’t need anything apart from this wonderful view to enjoy this place! I went and strolled on the beach a little then came back to spend my evening in this cafe...Add on is the wonderful food they offer. Menu is small yet covers all the required dishes. I had an ice tea, broccoli soup and pasta arabiata. All three were good. Staff is really courteous. I had a great evening at this place, enjoying my food, reading while listening to waves. I am heading back soon and this place will remain on a high point in my mind. Enjoy people!!!

Good beachside Cafe<br/>A new place with the deck near the beach still under construction one can dine in their chalets or the main building. Food is good and quick and friendly service. The choice of brands on IMFL and Imported on the bar menu needs a complete relook. Good for a dinner by the beach.

A very good alternative for Kipling cafe. The place is nicely located , Food is good . Service is good n ambience could be better . The can have warmer lights and interiors could be improvised . The place is converted in to a cafe n hence few improvisation will give the wow factor . But overall a nice place to relax n eat food . I am yet to click pictures of the place . Will do next time .

Sunshine Cafe-A beach villa made into a beautiful restaurant with a breathtaking view. First let me put all the "pros" of this place. The major pros of this restaurant were the Location and Ambiance. They have a double storey villa with a penthouse where they can solidly accommodate 50 customers. Went as a group of 10 and were overwhelmed by the way they treat their customers. Ambiance was pleasant with a soothing background music. Food was neither good nor bad. Non veg dishes were better than the veg. MUST TRY: Fish Steak. Starters were impressive. Ordered two nachos, cheese balls, grill chicken. Main cuisine could have been better. Cauliflower steak was extremely good. Pastas were average.<br/>Pros : Location, Ambiance.<br/>Cons : Very slow service, Value of Money.

The location and ambience is wonderful. It is very close to beach and you have plenty of parking for car and two wheelers.<br/>Coming to food i would say it tasted good but overpriced for the quantity. I feel the price have to be reduced a little or the quantity has to be increased.<br/>You have both outdoor (hut) and indoor seating.

Went to this restaurant for dinner. Located adjacent to an isolated beach covered in weed. Maybe ok to venture out when there's sunlight but shady to go when it's dark. Booked the table through Zomato, confirmation was immediate. <br/><br/>We sat on the rooftop, 2nd floor. Very dimly lit with a blue light, shady seating area. Drink menu has a very limited selection. Ordered the corn fritters, veg lollipop and French fries for starters. Corn fritters - no taste, just a fried ball with uncooked dough inside. Veg lollipop - was cold and moderately ok to taste. French fries were the only edible starter. Had the Malaysian egg nasi goreng rice for main course - good to taste, well done. They gave us a chocolate brownie complimentary as the starter was not good - no point, the brownie was hard and definitely stale. <br/><br/>They need to step up the quality of food big time. Lighting and ambience needs to be improved in the rooftop seating area.

This place was absolutely perfect! The food and service was great! Very friendly staff and extremely accommodating - a rarity in Chennai! The ambience was breathtaking and it helped that the weather on the day was pristine! Definitely a breath of fresh air in Chennai!

Very nice place , yet to be fully opened but food taste is good...the location is superb & its by the beach...the combo's are yet to come in full flow

(time & money (salary credited SMS)) immediately I decided to visit sunshine Cafe 🌅🌊<br/><br/>By the time I reached there around 6:30 PM climate changed from breeze to wind and rainfall.... But that lasted just for a while, in the meantime I decided to go upstairs and pick the sea view balcony and I did. Restaurants with half the price would offer great food than what we got from here....<br/>The beach view is great so if you just want to relax without any food, I would suggest this place.

I recently stumbled upon Sunshine Cafe in Akkarai which officially opened its doors last Sunday. I was there on Thursday late in the evening when it was pouring crazily and boy, it was the perfect time to be here.Located right before Gossip Bistro (and the toll booth), Sunshine Cafe is in one of the streets which leads right to the beach. Being the last building in that street, it wasn't tough to find. There's ample car parking space too. It's actually a house converted into a restaurant with a massive outdoor space where they've placed shacks. And oh, did I mention they serve liquor? Right at the entrance, there's a pub too. The house sports a huge hall where there are facilities to play snooker and carrom board (which wasn't up when I was there, but they said they'll get it soon). The room on the ground floor was actually quite dingy, especially with blue lighting, so we opted for the first floor which has both outdoor and indoor seating. We obviously went for the outdoor option. When my friend and I were there, it was raining on and off, so naturally, the tables were wet. The staff members were kind enough to wipe the table down for us to use, though the rest of the place was almost empty. While waiting for the food, it started pouring again but thankfully, the open area has a sunshade which covers half the space so we still got to sit outside yet managed to stay dry. As far as the food is concerned, it's predominantly Conti. Considering the weather, we went for a Chicken and Mushroom soup. For starters and mains, we got Beef Teriyaki, Alla Carbonara, and Sea Food Platter. The soup was perfect, with the lovely flavour of fungi and surprisingly good number of chicken chunks. The Beef Teriyaki was also really good and as a sucker for teriyaki sauce, I loved it. Unfortunately, the dish wasn't warm when it reached the table and this time, it wasn't even my fault as I didn't take much time to click pictures :( . I had the same problem with Alla Carbonara which was actually cold. And for a carbonara, it was extremely saucy. Thankfully, the bacon slices made up to it. The Sea Food Platter was quite a mixed bag. The fish and squid weren't up to the mark but the crabcake and prawns were brilliant. Service was extremely good and as the place is humongous, we had someone standing by our side the entire time we had our meal so that we didn't need to look for one. The above-mentioned items cost us Rs 1317, which, I felt to be decent pricing. With a bit of tweaking and making sure the food reaches the customers piping hot, I'm sure they'll be a restaurant to watch out for. The place is sure to look even better during sunset and the pics I took of the ambience don't do justice to the place. One of THE BEST restaurant I have ever had in my entire life. Was a great family feast.Relished every bit & bite of it.Heart filled prayers and wishes to the Owners and every staff -to maintain the same taste throughout. Keep shining and keep on shining Cafe👍🏻!!!

Well... I had my eyes on this cafe for last one week since I saw the cafe on Zomato. Let me state something clearly, they are not yet officially open, their grand opening is on 29th as they informed, and for now they are operating with a limited menu and domestic liquor only.<br/><br/>Ambiance - wonderful if you get a place on the rooftop. Open space with a beautiful sea facing view. You can enjoy the waves while sipping your beer and munching on delicious food. They also have air conditioned halls and a garden with tables spread out for you to enjoy. <br/><br/>Liquor - As mentioned, only domestic liquor for now.<br/><br/>Food - The two dishes that I tasted was delicious. Cheese Corn Fitters for starter and Paneer Steak with herbal rice for mains. One suggestion: the Paneer needs to be more juicy, then it would be mind blowing. <br/><br/>Staff behaviour - Courteous, ready to help and attentive to the guest. I hope they maintain the same attitude when they are open fully and have more guests pouring in at a time.<br/><br/>Surprise of the day - Due to the location of the cafe, they were having some issue with their card swiping machine. Even after trying 5 times it didn’t work and I had to wait for sometime. The result - a complimentary Chocolate Brownie for me. Thank you for this hospitality. <br/><br/>I look forward to visit you on the opening day 😊
