Review Thalapakattu Biryani - Chennai (Madras)

The ambience could have been better but the place looked clean. The place was situated at the first floor. The service was good. We went as a team of 11 members and ordered both veg and non veg. All the items tasted good. The black pepper chicken was everyone’s favourite. I never liked mutton but the mutton chops tasted so good. The biriyani was good as usual. We ordered alfaham which was ok. It was uncooked in some parts. But other than that everything else was good. We then finished it with gulab jamun of each. The gulab jamun with icecream was so good. We expected an bowl with icecream and gulab jamun but the presentation was good.

Quite Good place for family dining and the staffs were so friendly and responsible! Must try dishes : kuchi mutton , mutton nalli gravy and Fish finger. Fish finger was the show stopper so tender and fresh! Must try! Also other items were good as well! Only concern is parking space since Car parking is not much available!

Been there for dinner with family. The atmosphere was good. We ordered Mutton pepper soup, Moru moru chicken stick and boneless Mutton briyani. All the food items were good with average quantity. Customer service is also good.

I am at a loss for words to express how incredible this restaurant is! The mutton biriyani that I tried was exceptionally delicious! The restaurant is situated on the first floor of the building and is remarkably clean. Additionally, the service provided was very impressive. Must try!!!!

Good service and Good place for non veg varieties. But, we need to go on time to taste our fav varieties. Otherwise, we will miss it. I missed rose sarbath which is my favorite. Next time will taste it for sure. Prices are reasonable.

Fantastic knowledgeable service. Super fresh delicious foods. Reasonably price, be prepared for wait. The scallops were perfectly cooked. Worth the wait, they will text you when your table is ready.

The portion size has improved & the food is tasty like always

Located in the hotspot of Velachery 100ft road. Busy on weekends, try to book your table prior to your visit. Biryanis are recommended. Chicken lollypop was too good. They don't have a children's table. No wallet parking.

I was initially hesitant because of bad experiences in past few years. But after looking at the recent good reviews, I decided give another try to this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised with the significant improvement in service, food and ambience. I hope this restaurant regain back it's legendary status. Best wishes.

I eat only vegetarian food there at thalapakatti. The restaurant has improved a lot from the year of 2011 for vegetarians there are choices available and food is also cooked separately. Whenever there was a treat among friends I will avoid as we could find pieces of non veg in veg food. The service was horrible. Now the story is completely different good choices and have a meal l. Their summer drink good and nominal rate, they should continue the pricing so that we can get it all time.

It is a well known restaurant, but the experience of being served makes the difference. I will not write much about the hospitality as it may offend someone. So, let's jump into the food and ambience. Mutton Biriani, they are special with small rice and their unique Color and texture. There were not much spice which was absolutely nice to have. The mutton were not at all juicy or fresh. They were little black in colour, probably refrigeration effect. Ordered mushroom manchurian as a side dish, which actually complement the entire lunch experience here. Taste was good, better than the average taste. They give water into a copper glass. Which maintains the balance of an authentic restaurant.

Taste so good. But waiter have to take some responsibility to customer about orders. We are arrived at 8.30 and order two mutton briyani. Waiter take all the orders and confirmed. After one briyani served he told briyani items all are finished please order some other food. Totally we spend 2 hours for ate one briyani and one fried fish. Taste wise good. Need improvement.

Went with office group at 7 PM in the evening where all the items in the menu were not available. We have ordered barbecue chicken which was awesome, though I was not much hungry, I loved it. We had Mutton Biryani, sorry I shouldn't say its a biryani it was a pulav with little ghee flavoured rice which was good for different taste unlike biryani. We went with one special item Ghee Spice chicken order that was available in Special of the day menu on that particular day which was too spicy, I loved it because I prefer spicy food. They have many branches in Chennai, you may enjoy the food if you are a south indian and loves spicy food.

The food was served very later. Literally we had to wait for 30min and my Zomato pro offer was denied too.

We ordered online and got delivered chicken instead of prawn and the meat was stale and caused health issues

Packing is also not good. Not Professional. Parcel items are mismatched.

Have ordered spl chicken biriyani and spl grill chicken.<br/>Spl chicken biriyani costs 520 had only 2 pieces of chicken. <br/><br/>And the worst part is grill chicken which was sweet and tasted exactly like Pizza and full of raw chilli powder. Think restaurant has to learn what 'grill' means. They have just added pizza sauce n chilli powder and some vinegar to the cooked chicken and called it grill.

I order meals have some items but send it only one item, not worthy for the money they charge it

We ordered the Mutton leg soup which was average. For starters, we ordered country chicken and fish polichadhu. The country chicken was actually broiler which was cooked in country style. It was fine but we weren't aware of it being regular chicken. The fish polichadhu was brilliant and portion size was good too. For mains, we ordered a egg kothu borotta which was really average.We used Zomato 1+1 and the waiter requested us to post a review on zomato there. I politely declined - He didn't like it. We felt this kind of animosity was uncalled for. It was a decent meal for the price we paid - however, it could have been much better.

Had non- veg meals. And it was absolutely cold. Expect for the rice and Egg. The curries and gravies were really cold as if it was yesterday's. It was completely a regret having meals there. Not sure whether this is how it will be served for all or it's just cause we ordered Meals. We dint like the service too. The quantity was really less.

Chicken dosa and chicken porichadu was awesome. The masala flavour gave a food orgasm. Would suggest this place to my friends definitely. Must visit it!!

Hi, I went to restaurant and unlocked gold and order for briyani with my friend. The guy named Jeevan, the waiter who served me was very rude and it was really a unpleasant experience in Dindigul thalapakatti ...At first before eating food I unlock gold and confirmed with the number with the waiter and again while we are having food the guy Jeevan came and asked me to show my unlocked code and I showed it to him. While that moment I was eating my food.. his expressions was like very rude and he keep on asking me again and again like show me the code , show me the code ..I was like wait buddy give me some time! And again he came after 10 minutes and asked me to give some good rating in zomato gold while I’m having my food..I again took my mobile to give some good rating but at the time he was again keep on insisting and asking me like did you have the rating, do it now and some more. And at the point I lost my temper and told him to move and do not disturb me while having my food! After having my food I called him and requested him to be kind to customer and not to disturb them while having their food and he was like I know man...And the manager came and I explained him clearly what happened and experience and the guy Jeevan was not their at that place or didn’t even ask for a sorry! Making it clear people who come to eat to thalapakatti rates this hotel 5 star only by insisting and forcing the peoples. It was really a bad experience there! And to make things clear people who order less are not inferior standard, they desire the same respect. Don’t judge a book by its cover bro 🙂
