Review Ayur Square - Chennai (Madras)

Shivakumar Omprakash
I have had the most amazing veg food here. It is a amalgamation of good & healthy food. There is honesty and passion in the way food is made and served.. I have enjoyed all the offerings so far. Well done!!

A tiny restaurant with homely vibe located just off the main road.. the highlight about this place was the food. Just good clean food - made to your requirement. And they follow what they say in terms of more healthier option. The food is also packed with a ton of veggies which was a pleasant surprise. Even the dip is not a fatty mayo, but a yogurt dip. The ketchup for the fries was homemade. Rotis and parathas were soft. We absolutely loved the food. The portions are on the smaller side (minus the extra large brownie) and therefore you would need to order more food. But it was good to eat a variety. Only 6 tables, but food arrives on time and decent service. Would be visiting again!

One of a kind hotel to get a unique experience on having ayurvedic style vegetarian foods. If you are going for tasty food then I suggest you avoid this. But if you are going for good healthy food then this is a must eat place. This place is managed by the owners who take orders are too humble. They care about the customers and you will not see this kind of welcome and food suggestions from others. Price wise it is kind of pricey. I can be a regular customer if the price got little lower. Else it is great for me only to bring age old persons or young kids because of the healthy food option. The restaurant is a little noisy due to the small place and very low ceilings.

Authentic Ayurveda kitchen. Amazing and rare! Doshic guidance. Kind sweet staff. Delicious with healthy options: vegetarian, no onion garlic, low carb, customization, etc.

Balanced between tasty and healthy food. North indin curries are well prepared. Kids friendly... Curry with less spices prepared for my kids. Which is tasty for me also. Overall good... I feel Little bit costly
The Wandering Man
I'm a kind of guy who prefer ambience the most in the restaurant more than the food. This place has a traditional feel as its restructured out of a house. The looks were excellent and I loved all the postures and fancy lights. Although I don't agree that it's pocket friendly for pastas however I feel it economical compared to other restaurants in velachery which is full vegetarian. Loved the arabiata and Pesto pastas. The quality of food and service was excellent. More than anything else they make everything out of farm fresh organic food which are made without using artificial colours and flavours which is definitely good for kids. Kids love the place and food as well. They don't add any msg in food and food is a good satvic food. The Owner was too friendly and talking to us very freely. We were about to order four pastas but without thinking of making more money he advised us to take three and said it will be sufficient for four. We will definitely visit again. Thanks.

Unique and hidden gem. Starting with the menu, all the dishes were curated for a good lifestyle. The taste and quality were decent considering the health and price option. The service and cleanliness were at par with top rated restaurant, simply great. Convenient location, but parking suitable for 2 wheeler but for car. Worth the visit, good to try for a change.

We went to this place after lot of research! To be frank the food was very good. A lil pricey but it’s worth it! My mom and my mil who were not impressed easily, loved the menu. Had a very good food after a long time!
mukundan sampath
A house converted into a restaurant, with good ambience , a decent set up, cozy music , delicious Food ! Millet Rotis and Chef's Special Lacha Paratha are really something to try here !

A very healthy dining option in the heart of Velachery. Pocket friendly too. Very courteous staff - Polite and eager. Well kept and maintained restaurant. Food was so full of flavours and so light in the tummy. Indian breads were such a hit.. inspite of being made with a mix of millets, they were super soft. Highlight was the rose lassi, perfect way to remember my dinning experience.

If you are looking for a restaurant that can serve healthy great tasting food then, this is definitely one of them. I would highly recommend to try garden surprise, carrot fantasy and cheesy spinach croquettes. The only drawback that I felt was the price point, as it feels a bit more costly to me for the quantity of food that they are providing. The atmosphere is also good but its incapability to accomodate 15-20 people at once may result in high waiting time. Overall it has a great food, and one should definetly try if, it doesn't mind spending a little extra for a great food.

Fantastic vegetarian restaurant in Velachery with Vegan options. Ambience: it's a cosy and small space, but they make the most of it with minimalism. It's very clean and even the bathroom was well maintained. Service is great. They are very polite and professional. We went right before the place closes at 3 PM for lunch, but they still accommodated us. They were nice enough to give me a charger because my phone was dead. Food: Delicious food that feels light. I thoroughly enjoyed the Delhi sweet potato fries, carrot mousse dessert and jaggery Lassi
Ram Ganesan
Good healthy food and an extensive menu. Felt it was priced on the upside as compared to the quantity. Small place so they do not seem to take reservations. Street parking. Ayurvedic themed and prepared food.
Neelamegam Sundaresan
New vegetarian restaurant in Velachery with an interesting menu. Booked through Dineout and when we reached, we had warm welcome by the owner. He had explained the basis of the menu and also gave his suggestions. Taste-wise and quality-wise food was excellent. It was not very heavy and it's like tasty homemade food. Owner also strikes a wonderful conversation about the food. Overall good ambience, great food and value for money. On the other side, may be the quantity can be little bit more. Oct'22 Update:. Visited for lunch after very long time. Meals are not available during the weekend. Food was good but the cost seems to be high. But they haven't compromised on the quality so far which is good.

My friend and I ordered tomato soup, panda platter, potato fries, phulka, dhal fry and gulab jamun. Bill amt Rs. 1,100/-. Overall exp was amazing. Good taste, good ambience, good service. Keep it up.
Sridar Swaminathan
Very Good Service. Very Cordial. Food is Good. Small setup (modified house) so better to get appointment in advance. Ambience could be better unless it's to give the feel of eating at home.
Sivagami S
One of different experiences. Foods are really tasty, they dont use maida or white sugar. Desserts are must try

Right from the plants lining the entryway to this place and the cute furniture, to the carefully, artfully decorated interiors, the ambience shows how much painstaking thoughts and efforts have been put into the place by the owners.

A fun paper questionnaire (with facts and crosswords on the other side of the sheet) is present for every diner - they also give you pencils (stationery buffs will understand the excitement here)!

Based on one's answers to this questionnaire, the type of foods one must consume, based on Ayurvedic principles, is given. This is not just for your dine-in menu; this is something you can take home and apply to your life as well.

Coming to the food, it is a little pricey, but very well-prepared and served. The pasta portions were generous.

Set in the part of the city likeVelachery, which hosts a gamut of glamorous vegetarian and non-vegetarian food outlets options starting from international to vernacular..Ayur Square serves the healthiest, aesthetically pleasing and tastiest ever vegetarian dishes in the most humbling setting.. Their ambience is very engaging and makes one feel very grounded. All dishes are designed very innovatively providing a beautiful fusion of taste and health.

Excellent option in case you want authentic food. Authenticity and difference in taste/option & varieties are the unique selling point. The Panda platter and pumpkin stuffed paratha were especially nice.
Jayasree Srivastsan
My sis and I were there for lunch. We started with the Corn Bhel, Papdi Chaat which was delectable, crunchy Sweet Potato fries, soft & yummy parathas, ended with steaming hot Ginger Chaaii. Very tasty, great food, absolutely loved it.

I'm sure most foodies will agree that mostly tasty food is not healthy and healthy food is not tasty. But I guarantee that Ayur Square will falsify that belief. Here the food is both delicious and healthy. They have an elaborate menu from light snacks to stomach filling thalis. Highly recommend their kesar lassi! It's just heavenly! Also, the ambience is pretty chilled out and it's a cool place to hang out with friends, chit-chatting over yum food.
Prasad Poosarla
We are very glad to have such a wonderful themed restaurant near our house. We have been tired eating all masala and pasta based foods in various fusion restaurants. The menu has been prepared with a lot of thought and innovation. All the food served is fresh and ensures it is light on our intestines to digest. Various dishes like sweet potato fries, wraps and the red rice Dosa are almost a must. We would definitely visit again to try the items that we did not have last time
Geetu Maheshwari
The most healthy and tasty food i had in Chennai. The USP is they don't use sugar and maida, everything is so healthy here. Wrap is the show stealer
Krishna Kadiyala
Authentic tasty food.. Happy tummywala feeling! Great service and nice ambience!

Excellent food. Cosy place. Special care taken to serve fresh and healthy food. Very impressed.

This place was on my list for a long time.
And was worth my wait.

Ambience : it’s a calm place found in the side street of Velachery. It’s a house converted into a restocafe. It’s very neat and cosy.

Menu: It has Limited South Indian choices. But has good amount of North Indian choices. Even pastas , sweets and beverages are available.

Food: I ordered dahi papdi chat, jowar roti and regular thali.
Papdi chat was soo good with good amount of curd and green Chutney.
Jowar roti with two side dish , one dal and one vegetable . It felt home made. Even the ghee added to it was good .
The thali has dal , vegetable curry, paneer dish and three roti . None of these were oily . The roti was so soft. It also had pulao , papad and salad. I liked the salad made from sweet corn .

At the end you won’t have a bloated tummy for sure as the dishes aren’t oily. A must visit for all those who lovely healthy food.

Food is very tasty and healthy, we recommend to serve in steel plates, vessels and glass to make more healthy.

This place deserves a 5 star. The quality and the taste of the food is very good. Ambience and the lighting was nice. Cost is also not very high and there are good number of options. Dosa varieties with the special rice is a highlight and the taste is awesome. This is a must try place in velachery area. They also have innovative quiz paper at table where food and daily routine is recommended based on our current pattern.

Honestly I am flattered with the food options and menu . We were tired about eating in the regular big restaurants , so decided to try something new and landed at Ayur square .
The place is a nice house modified to a feel good restaurant . The ambience is welcoming and so are the staff , The menu was exciting and there were very good in suggesting portions based on the number of people and don't let us order heavily and waste it .
Their Desi paneer paratha is a must try and also the Jasmine tea ...
I would sure suggest people to go try and enjoy the food and spread the word around for such a worthy restaurant... Kudos to Ayur square

Great place to have healthy food. Been here with friends few days ago and they had this Deepavali special going on in which they served a special Deepavali thali. I had that and it was too good. It had 3 types of roti, one chaat, one salad, one paneer dish, one mixed veg, one channa rajma, one aloo sabji, one sweet halwa, chutney, one ghee rice among other items which I maybe can't remember. It was filling and great in taste. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Apart from that Chatpat Fries, Peri Peri fries are spot on. Basically, if you are health conscious and want a wholesome healthy food, then Ayur Square is the place for you.
Overall, Food: 4.5/5 ; Ambiance: 5/5 ; Value for money: 4.5/5

A Simple small house converted into a beautiful restaurant. This restaurant is tucked into a side street so you can find a parking easily in the deadend street. The menu options are very good and healthy and there is no compromise in taste. We had the North and south Indian thali which tasted wonderful. The rotis were excellent. A must try for vegetarian lovers.

I recently visited Ayur square, Great Ambience. Tasty and healthy food. Such a nice presentation of thali. Would give 10/10 for the food, Ambience and staff service!
SR
Taste and quality is good. But the quantity is too less and it's not worth for the money paid. Cost is too high, whilst other restaurants are serving millet of good quality of less price
Manojkumar S
Awesome tasty and also quality and quantity of food is good. And they have lots of health options in menu. Overall very happy with their service.
A place away from home which offers you home like food!

Recently opened veg (satvik) restaurant with an awesome ambience. It's a traditional house which is converted into a restaurant and is located a bit inside near the residential zone. You'd definitely rediscover yourself and food which suits your body type. Everything on the menu is lip smacking! They also prepare few dishes from there home grown veggies (depending on the season).

Sattu paratha and sweet potato fries are worth trying if you happen to visit this place. Also, you get a 20% discount if you are an IIT student.

PS. I've already refered half of my friends to this place!

Me and My friend met here after a very long time. This place is very underrated for its ambience. It’s a really quiet place with amazing decorations. We ordered French fries, Nachos, Alfredo pasta, pulao and butter milk. Everything tastes different and really good. Very healthy, To be precise. I’ll definitely come here again, soon!

Tucked inside a road off velachery bypass road, this place has a great twist on modern food. Bringing in a healthy concept in food that we eat usually makes it tastier. Loved the ambience and some quick service with the food. A must try!

Most amazing place we ran into. Had the classic home food traditional taste in a commercial form. Loved every dish we ordered. Different menu and not the usual repetitions. Wonderful ambience. Lovely place to hangout with friends. Kind gestures. Highly authentic. Mouthwatering. Must visit again to explore the dishes yet to taste.

I’m not a huge fan of healthy food, which is mostly due to the misconception that healthy food cannot be tasty food. Still gave it a try from a lot of persuasion from the family.

Ambience- Very quaint and cute with good lighting, and comfortable chairs. Parking isn’t a huge problem. They also give you an interesting quiz sheet that determines your prakruthi. They also tell you how you should take care of yourself, fully Ayurvedic.

Food- I should say I was completely mind blown.
Interesting facts to know- everything there is healthy, and tastes amazing too. They have fries made of Sweet potato, their nachos is made of maize and in the house, and they make their own cheese.
I’m going to go ahead and list the dishes we tried out and stuff we recommend, because there is absolutely nothing that requires correction or suggestions.
Carrot basil soup, Dahi Papdi chat, masala nachos, inky pinky pasta, rose mojito, ghee phulka, red rice dosa, green gram dosa, ginger tea and gulab Jamun.
Simply fantastic and a must visit place. Do try it out. Can’t wait to go back and try everything else off the menu.

Pure north Indian taste. Loved the place. Best restaurant.

I tried chaat items and starters, food combos, paneer paratha. All were delicious and healthy. A must try for food lovers as you dont need to feel guilty after easy cheesy nachos and fries.

Best part is they also server jwari roti and makke di roti. Fulkas were also made properly.

Excellent place for vegetarians. Their theme is healthy food and the best part is its very tasty. They use jagerry instead of sugar and all types of millets are there in the menu.
Subbarao Nimmagadda
If this was a place serving just healthy food, I wouldn't have considered. Once i tasted it, i was like wow, the tastiest food i ever ate. The couple are friendly and sitting in the restaurant feels like going to a friends place to have good home made food. I would recommend this place as a must try.

Been to this place on a Sunday. Lovely, bright and neat ambience. The owner was very helpful and courteous right from guiding us with the route on call as well as with the food suggestions. Ordered garden surprise, masala nachos, chatpata veg, herbed poori, south indian thali, buttermilk and nanari mojito. Everything was tasty, well prepared and presented well. Good work to the team on serving delicious healthy food. Definitely recommend👍

We (my husband, me, my daughter) visited the place for dinner.

Nice quiet place, with good ambience (I personally liked makeover) of an homely place.

We decided to taste the soup of the day, carrot soup garnished with basil, which tasted absolutely fabulous.

Upon further glance at menu card, I was fascinated with the home made (unprocessed cheese),

we ordered for fries (garlic and pepper) served with tomato ketchup and cheese dip, remarkable taste.

We ordered phulka, parathas, herbed poories and beetroot paratha (spicy version!!).

Herbed poories were aromatic and very appalling for all senses.

For final touch of something sweet, we decided to go with milkshakes dry fruit, which was delightful and help us feel contented.

We got a table mat sheet at the last, which was supposing to be an quiz, defining the categories of body and

mind according to ayurveda to figure out what kind we will fit in. Ever smiling, friendly host, giving us more tips and explaining us more about the relation between food, mind and body.

Finally, we thanked for the meal, hoping to visit someother day to try out lunch menu!
:)

On the whole, a nice place to visit for people who love north indian, italian, and who are vegetarians.

Healthy food! Traditional food! Special meal is really great! Corn salad, 3 type rotis, millet pulao etc are highlight...as they advertise rightly, it's their signature dish and they include 6 tastes for good health!

My wife and self visited the Restaurant on 20/03/19. The decor is tastefully done with a traditional touch. The ambience is sober. Food prepared with passion and authenticity. We tasted all signature items of the day. The owners are very friendly and genuinely caring. The quiz sheet subtly makes out what type Body constitution one has as per Ayur Veda.Vayu - Kappa and Pitta. Accordingly the dishes are recommended. We cherished the food and visit. So in future we would be regular visitors with our guests. All the Best.

Had been to Ayur square with my office colleagues for lunch. Initially I was hesitant on the name, but I was pleasantly surprised. The people are very friendly and made us feel at home immediately. Food was very tasty and no maida/preservatives and freshly cooked as well. We had Pumpkin soup, masala papad, fries, Noodles and deserts. They do not use sugar but jaggery based drinks/sweet. It does not burn a hole in pocket as well.

Highly recommended for pure veg homely healthy food.
Shridhar K
Nice quite place. Recently opened. Pure veg with auyurvedic flavoured quality foods. No maida, no potatoes like that....
Accept most of the online platform payments. I sense they deliver and taking for party order too.
Good quality foods . South, North, Italian, Kashmiry foods available.
Pure Veg folks, all foodie try here.

This place makes you feel Home away home. Their menu is quite aligned to bring in balance of Vaadha, Kaba and Pittha. Ordered their soup of the day which was creamy soup of carrot and Basil rightly blended with spices. Followed by Garden surprise starter along with yummy cheesy nachos. Then we tried their main course like ragi roti, cholam roti, Phulkari, herbed poori, Sattu Paratha and Paneer Paratha. Everything was served hot and tasty with ideal side dishes. Tried gulab jamun made of jaggery. Too yummy and delicious it was. We tried this restaurant as a move to have something different from routine Tamil delicacies. But felt we made a right choice in the end.. a home converted to a place of yummy dishes and nice hospitality that brings your family experience the increase in bonding not just amongst themselves but with their food as well.. last to say love their notice board mentioning "Not allowed beyond this point. Trespasses will be roasted in Pure desi ghee."

Must visit place if you want to blend taste with healthy food. The place has good vibes and a nice ambience to complement it. The menu has nice variety to include chaats, wraps, meals and mocktails. Theplas are also a good option which we can carry when traveling overseas, which will be a great saviour. Based on concept of healthy ayurvedic food, must must visit for vegetarian food.

I've been having lunch and dinner here almost daily. I should say the food is top notch! The owners are very friendly and caring. You will discover a lot of new things about food from this place. The owners themselves being nutritionists, every meal is healthy, tasty and it makes you come back here again and again and again. Definitely try all the special rotis and parathas, especially sattu ka paratha. Shakes are indeed divine, particularly the mixed dry fruit milkshake.
