Value for Money: 4/5

Been a regular for over 9 years now; almost never have I left, dissatisfied.

The restaurant opens up to a non-ac seating on the ground floor with the air-conditioned seating available on the first. I always prefer the first.

It was three of us for a late lunch on a weekday.

Order:-

Mutton Pepper Soup (₹130)*2) - One of the best mutton pepper soups I've ever had. Peppery, light broth with cooked-through mutton shreds, coriander, cabbage and ginger, cut julienne. Must try.

Prawn Moghul Biriyani (₹280) - A tad bit sweet, with shredded boiled egg and coriander. Almost perfect, for the missing cashews and raisins. You'd be surprised to find these many prawns. Nothing short of at least 17-20 (maybe more) pieces I've counted, the many times I've had here.

Mutton Dum Biriyani (₹180) - Meat was mostly soft, cooked well and biryani, mildly spicy. Large portion size. One boiled egg included. The salna/gravy accompaniment was lovely!

Mutton pepper chops (₹270) - Peppery, garam masala flavoured, hot gravy with two big sized meat laden bone chunks. Large portion size.

Prawn Masala (₹230) - Methi and Dhanya rich gravy with freshly cooked prawns. Tasted great! Large portion size.

Bulls Eye/Half-boil Eggs (₹50) - Two per plate.

Idiyapam (₹80) - Freshly made, hot idiyapams priced at ₹10 a piece.

Service was prompt and quick, particularly because of one (new) waiter/staff who attended us. Otherwise it's okay although I've seldom had issues. Seating was adequate.

Womenfolk friendly. The ambience in the non-a/c area is average and a dim-lit, better setup, upstairs.

Total Bill:- ₹1380/- nett.

Busy little place on the corner of TTK road and St. Mary's road. Quick, decent food, nothing exceptional. The parottas are worthy of a mention: crisp, soft and steaming hot, they're the best you can get here. Developed an aversion to their Biriyani variants. Anything Chinese and you'll be disappointed again.

Only few people ( also Many Cine Stars) will know the quality of the Tea at Quality. Cup is small but the taste is authentic. Imagine drinking Tea at 12 o Clock, mid night,at the opposite 5 Star Hotel ( Crowne Plaza) with friends... OMG... Awesome... I am just saying about the Tea, then you people can think about the other food's quality.

The ambience is just ok. Always choose the AC dinein. I tried their special chicken briyani and the taste was just excellent. The flavour was so different and the pieces in the briyani was cooked in tandoori style separately and added. Also their chilli fish was commendable. Will definitely recommend for hard core briyani lovers who wanna taste some new flavour of briyani, go for their spl briyani.

The age ol' landmark of chennai. Looks quite in the corner of the road but always bustling with people and flavours. U enter the restaurant and the ac section is in the first floor. U may want to watch your ad as the stairs are closer to the ceiling. The food is yummy. The starters include fish, prawns and all other kinds of meat. The biriyani here is very famous and u will know why when u eat. The place isn't very hygienic but the food makes up for it. If you're someone who wants good food but also wants a good atmosphere then i suggest u pack it from here enjoy at ur home.

Hotel quality is one of those places where you know that youl get good food, everytime we have a late night do at home, we order food from hotel quality. The food has never disappointed and it’s always been amazing.

There are two things I crave for from hotel quality, their butter chicken masala and their special parathas, the best I’ve had.

Don't let the looks fool you. This place served the best biriyani I've ever had in Chennai. The taste and service is pretty amazing. Their seafood is also quite amazing and it's also quite economical.

Food I'd recommend - spl chicken biriyani , fish biriyani and any sea food.

It's great to go to fancy and uber-cool restaurants all the time, and write about them; but to eat at places like that on an everyday basis is not realistic, unless you work for fun and are trust fund kids. What most of urban evolving and working India requires for the everyday are restaurants that aren't super pricey, offer the regular preferred options, and taste good. This is exactly where Quality comes in.

Let me set the expectations clearly; this place is not about the ambience, the experience, or the extremely cordial and trained service staff. If that's what you want, you're probably better of at a Subway, which is at a comparable price point, more or less. The restaurant is split into 2 levels, a non-ac section on the ground floor, and an air-conditioned section on the first floor. The ac section tends to feel dingy and a tad greasy; so if you're super particular on spic and span, this could be a deterrent. Based on the price point and the food offering, clientele is not super classy either. So if you're an elitist, this is not the place for you. That said, you will regularly find rich kids here to grab a bite, pre or post party.

The location is fabulous, just outside Park Sheraton, on the corner of St.Mary's road and TTK road. Though they don't have their own dedicated parking, St.Mary's road has plenty of parking and you can park someplace in and around, with no collection of parking fees. Roads being fairly wide, it's not congested and a task to maneuver. Call them lucky, but they totally struck gold with the location.

Coming to the food, and normally when practicality is key, we tend to be okay with average to acceptable food, it's not a compromise you'll need to make here. If you stick to what they are good at, that being the Kerala style curries and bread, be it Parottas or even the Tandoor Naans, you will learn that it's tasty as hell. The dishes are not floating in oil, and there is no excessive richness issue. The taste is perfect, and I have to admit that they've hit the nail on the head in that department. If you enjoy Tandoor starters like a Tangdi Kebab, give it a shot, and you'll probably find yourself wanting another piece. It was well cooked, the meat very soft, and the flavor just right. I can vouch that all the food tasted fresh, and nothing was being taken out of cold storage and reheated. I did not try the rice, or any of the Indianized Chinese on the menu, but why would I when their core competencies are clearly elsewhere.

For a restaurant of this type, it's all about the practicality, and no doubt Quality scores big. It's near my office, has parking, the food comes quick, it's very tasty, and the pricing is not over the top. For 2 people with a chicken starter, an aerated drink, and bottled water, it was about 200 per head. If we kept it to one course and skipped on the aerated beverages, id expect for it to be
