Review Bismi Biriyani - Chennai (Madras)

Excellent Biryani ! Sweet and side dish also fabulous. The quantity they provide is huge for relatively priced low. More than sufficient for one person. They serve hot and fresh. Had a tasty Muslim Biryani after long time!

Bismi biriyani is known for its Unlimited biriyani. But this time I had to try vegetarian from bismi biriayani because it's is puratasi month and it was 5 PM while I was searching for a restaurant to serve veg food (preferably rice) in nungambakam. I ordered a veg biriyani and gobi Manchurian. It took 20 mins to arrive. I was shocked and surprised to see that they had served one full hot pack of veg biryani 😲 and a similar bowl full of Gobi Manchurian. As I already knew about the quantity served in Bismi, I ordered only one starter and one main course thankfully. We were a member of two and we struggled to finish of those two dishes. Taste is much better than others NV hotels that serve veg as very plain. It's very cost effective as the total bill was Rs.280 costing 140rs each 😍

Biriyani is served in hotbox and the quantity would be beyond your expectation. So better buy one and share, then you could think of ordering next. A good eater could get his tummy full with one biriyani. A good gesture is you will be served with a small quantity of sweet meanwhile your order is being prepared.

For the price its really good The biryani and fried rice tasted very good but the grill chicken could have been juicer and tender.Overall good experience.Ambience is not a quite one,so better to go with friends.

Recently Found this new Biriyani spot and i Bought takeaway for 4th time in this month, IMO, I say the best biryanis are which looks more oily and orangey. One Normal 150₹ Chicken biriyani would easily be sufficient for 2 ppls. Unlike most of similar biriyani spots, Here they provide good quality Brinjal Gravy. They do also give kesari on sundays. Definitely a good value for money Biriyani Spot.<br/><br/>A big Thumbs Up to Go.

Bisimi Briyani in nungabakkam....it is just a normal briyani shop in Chennai...but has quite good briyani...if you wanna order food on Sunday afternoon then this is a good choice

It wasn't a great meal at Bismi today. I ordered half grill. I got mouth ache as an additional take away for Rs. 179. It didn't even taste good. Unlike my other visits, I found a polite captain who took the order. Thanks to him. When i shared my feedback in the billing counter, the cashier didn't accept it too. However, the girl who was served the food acknowledged my feedback. Think twice before you order grill chicken at Bismi Biriyani, Nungambakkam.

Initially to say that there was not sufficient servers to serve the food. Ambience is good. Food was awesome.. I ordered chicken briyani then grill and bbq chicken.<br/>We need to wait to take order as well as have to wait for getting food. The taste of food was great.🔥🔥.. This hotel was juz annoying because there is no proper service. They won't even clean the table after eating and need to wait for a long time to clean the table and tooo much waiting for ordering the food as well as too much time for getting the food in the table😤😤😤

Usually people said biriyani will be tasty here. But, unfortunately when I visited this place, they made an instant Biriyani and served hot. No flavour was there in the biriyani. Never had a biriyani like this. Grill chicken was Okayish. If Biriyani was over already they should tell them clearly, instead they made me wait for more than 30mins and they instantly made this useless Biriyani and served later. So, if you plan to visit this place, be careful and ask clearly for a good biriyani.<br/>.<br/>There is no compromise in quantity, even 2 people can eat 1 biriyani.

Yet another delicious BIRYANI spot in the heart of the city-Nungambakkam! They have their branches all over the city.<br/>🔼 FISH BIRYANI.<br/>Hot biryani served in casserole, with soft peices of fish, Gravy, Egg, Raita and a Sweet. Loved the taste of the biryani and the soft fish peices. Been there once during late noon so couldn't expect much. Biryani was not hot and too much salt so walked away with no options. Have tasted the biryani long back and it was as ok.

GARLIC Fish ordered was worst and the fish seems to be very old.<br/><br/>There is no GARLIC taste in the gravy just they used the tomato sauce and prepared the gravy.<br/><br/>Worst experience in the fish gravy and never order it.....

The place is best actually. The hospitality they gave and the respect were so fine. Talking about the food , I would recommend this place if you were around this atleast to try once. The taste of food was great!. Quality and quantity both were worth the money.

Worst ever😡!!!!!it was around 2 o'Clock when me and my frnd ordered 2 CHICKEN BIRIYANI and 1 half grilled parcel chicken......they made us wait for like 30 MINS😠!!!! Then they gave us both....we stay near moolakadai so our travelling time would take about 40 mins.....after returning home being very hungry we opened our parcels....to our horror....THEY GAVE US MUTTON BIRIYAN🤢I!!!we are already scared about the rumours abt dog meat being served as mutton....and again this restaurant is giving us the same thing 😫!!!!!!we ordered 2 full biriyani so there were like 4 half biriyani given....and all of them were mutton!!!!we just gave them to people around our house but even they denied being scared about dog meat.....atlast we had to just eat Maggi ☹️..... totally disappointed😩!!!!!nvr expected such a mistake from this kinda hotel!!!! however the grill was good n THAT IS THE ONLY REASON I'M GIVIN 1 STAR...... otherwise they are not even worthy of that.....

Ordered mostly using their landline facility. The foods quality here is mostly based upon which chef works at th time(as I was told). Sometimes they are absolutely on point with the taste and other times they are dismal. Recently was served spoilt fried fish which ended up in the trash.<br/><br/>Every item here is probably somewhat good enough although the amount of colouring used is so high that it doesn't come off your fingers unless you wash it for a long time.<br/><br/>Also theres a lot of oil in the food, sometimes it really makes you feel disgusted.<br/><br/>Summary: Buying here is a 50/50 gamble, but hey the house always wins 😉 If you know what I mean.<br/>

You are first overwhelmed by the quantity of Biryani but then you know why: The Biryani sucks. It is bland, tasteless and chicken pieces are substandard that even roadside shops have good ones. Not worth the money. My Go-to will remain Rahath City (which now sucks too on most days.)

It's a really good place in nungambakam . Bismi is really famous for Briyani and Briyani is my favorite food. So many times I came here my off day. Chennai swarma is another lovely dish in this place

Nowadays I think that sani bhagwan is sitting on my tongue because on the day of Id I foolishly volunteered to buy biriyani for my family. That day only I found out that there were soo many Muslim biriyani shops in Chennai and the favourite dish of Chennaites is biriyani just like mine.I left my house at 11 am in search of biriyani (otinen otinen Chennai suthi en car ai otinen) one the shops were closed or the queue was as long as a queue in a ration shop. Finally I waited in the queue for bismi biriyani and when I reached the counter(just like a bank closes for lunch they said the Biriyani is over) so I returned back home disappointed.<br/><br/>So next day I wanted to eat biriyani with a vengeance.And so ordered the bucket biriyani which came with chicken 65,boiled eggs and kesari with the usual raitha and dalcha.We also ordered ginger chicken.<br/><br/>First the Biriyani,the meat was cooked well with long grain rice and the spice was adequate.There were lots of chicken pieces which were succulent.<br/><br/>Chicken 65:It was just like the usual stuff.Nothing great nothing bad.<br/><br/>Ginger chicken:It was nice and had a bit of sweetness to it.The pieces were a bit hard to chew.The sauce did not permeate the chicken.<br/><br/>Kesari:It was just the usual stuff.It was nice and sweet.<br/><br/>Overall the bucket biriyani was a value for money and I recommend it if there are many people to eat.

What's Id without a good Briyani feast but this year our family was in for a major disappointment because our Muslim friends who routinely send the delectable dish over had gone out of town.<br/>Our last minute attempts to procure Briyani met with failure as the good Briyani joints were packed with thronging crowds and some had run out as early as 12 noon.<br/>So after a lacklustre Id lunch we decided to have our own Briyani feast a couple of days later.<br/>We ordered a Chicken Briyani bucket from Nungambakkam Bismi Briyani ,which incidentally was one of the places which was packed .<br/>The inclusions with the bucket were 7 pieces of Chicken 65 ,raita, brinjal curry and by way of sweet- kesari.<br/>The bucket came sealed and had a covering of banana leaves in the top and the bottom( hygenic as well as eco friendly) .<br/>The contents retained their warmth especially as we dug in deeper,it was practically steaming so that indicated the freshness of the dish.<br/>There was a good proportion of chicken pieces and it had good flavour and was non- greasy which was evident by the absence of oiliness in the fingers .<br/>The onion raita contrary to what is generally served at eateries had a good amount of curd and was creamy.<br/>I don't normally eat brinjal curry but the general consensus was that it was good too.<br/>I love to pair a dry Chinese side dish with Briyani so ordered Garlic chicken too.<br/>That was a little tough but the seasoning was OK.<br/>The chicken 65 which came with the combo was the usual deep fried pieces of meat.<br/>The 65 and boiled eggs were all packed separately in foil packets which I really appreciate instead of dunking it all with the Briyani as some delivery places do.<br/>The cost of the bucket combo was around Rs 1000 and with the side dish came up to Rs 1337/ which was VFM because the quantity was enough for 4 of us to eat and there was plenty left over to be heated up for dinner that night.<br/>Believe me ,it tasted even better at night so all in all it was a true Briyani Fest for the family.

On the day of Id we decided to have Biriyani for lunch and my son volunteered  to  buy Biriyani and went around Nungambakkam from 11.30 to 2 PM and he was unsuccessful.  Either the joint was closed or there was a huge waiting line and he was quite frustrated when he returned. To avenge his loss of face he wanted to have Biriyani and lots of it and he wanted it from the very place he had his unsuccessful vigil " Nungambakkam Bismi Biriyani". <br/><br/>Lots of Biriyani meant the Bucket Biriyani off-course and so we ordered the Chicken Biriyani Family Pack which had biriyani in a bucket + Chicken 65- 10 pieces + a sweet  for Rs 1050 and  Garlic Chicken Dry. The total came to Rs 1377.<br/><br/>The Biriyani came in a plastic bucket but the difference was they had put a banana leaf in the bottom and covered the top with another leaf. The lid was also sort of sealed with a plastic strip which put my mind to rest. The accompaniments like the raitha (lots of it), the brinjal curry, the boiled eggs, chicken 65 and the garlic chicken came in separate containers and packages which is a  sign that the establishment values its customers and doesn't cut corners.<br/><br/>The Biriyani was quite hot when it arrived and as we dug in deeper into the bucket the heat was retained. The rice was long grained variety and the chicken pieces were cooked well and soft. The biriyani was spiced just right and eating it did not cause sweat to run in rivulets down my face but left a sheen of sweat on my forehead. The let down was the chicken 65 which had a bit of raw flavour of the spices and deep fried. In these times where everyone knows that artificial colouring is bad for health you need to moderate adding these colours. Ditto to the Kesari which was the sweet that made up a part of the combo. The garlic chicken was a bit chewy maybe because it was flash fried over high heat before the sauce was added. If you could have cooked it  bit more in the sauce it could have turned softer.<br/><br/>I would have rated them 4 or higher but due to these few things had to tone the ratings down.

It's apparently the perfect choice for North Indian delicacies at a reasonable price in Nungambakkam! That's absolutely pocket friendly and gives me a relief from the Hostel Mess every time😋

Food:<br/>Tried the shawarma roll with the grill chicken. Though the shawarma was crunchy it wasn't oozing with flavours. It was just alright while the chicken was hot and spicy. The roll could have been much better but on the whole it was A-OK. The welcome sweet/drink was a kind gesture.<br/><br/>Ambience:<br/>Though I prefer takeaway, the place was pretty quite but cramped parking space in wee hours. Waiting time was a concern when I visited.<br/><br/>Price:<br/>Basically, it was all affordable and good value for money. Will have to try a few other dishes to rate furthermore.<br/><br/>P.S.: Been there a few weeks back, not a fresh review

The size of mutton pieces is too small when compared to visiting the restaurant directly and having the food there and also only 2 small pieces of mutton was placed comparatively while visiting the restaurant they give 3 big pieces .
